Forty books later, I've made another set of this fanfic by @theaguanzon, which does the best job of capturing how it felt to be 13 and reading Star Wars books in the 2000s. This set is a collaboration between myself and @selunchen, who did an amazing job illustrating the covers!

(The covers are inspired by an iconic Star Wars teaser poster. Do you know which one?)

This bind incorporates all the new techniques I've picked up over 2.5 years in this hobby. I foiled the line art on veg tan goat leather from Siegel, and there are Crepaldi endpapers and bookmark charms from @afterblossom.

The maps are based on Legends maps designed by Dan Wallace, Jason Fry, Chris Barbieri, and James Luceno. I revamped the typeset and painted the edges with a galaxy splatter pattern, and this bind is also rounded and backed.

Ever since I’ve started bookbinding I’ve dived in to Dramione and Hunger Games set fics but now I’m also going full speed for Star Wars and specialy Reylo set fics! 😍

I’ve read this year The Love Hypothesis, but somehow I feel that this fic will be much more my cup of tea! Whose wouldn’t it be - Rey found in an early age by Luke and Ben and trained as a Jedi?! Awesome! I can’t wait to read it! ♥

Diasterisms Anthology (Book 1/12): World Without End by diasterisms

World Without End has one of my FAVORITE diasterisms summaries. It’s powerful and intriguing and so Reylo—and boy does it look beautiful on the back cover. But then again--what could be more beautiful than a Hades + Persephone retelling in space? 

For each story in this anthology, I chose different icons—many of which I made myself. Each was carefully chosen to fit the theme of the fic and what sets it apart from the others in the series. I chose to create an asphodel flower icon for World Without End, a representation of the Underworld and the Greek mythology references throughout this fic.

There are 21 icons across the anthology, with mountains, hydrospanners, Amidala’s symbol, constellations, banyans, books, and many more.

A beautiful, mythology-inspired canon fic, World Without End tells the story of two enemies with a deep bond, navigating their shared dreamspace. Read it on AO3.

I had tears pouring down my cheeks while I was driving home this morning because I listened to a podcast about the Radium Girls and how hard they fought to hold their employer to account for poisoning them, even though they knew they would die regardless, because they wanted to protect the workers who came after them. Even though their community called them liars and they were in horrible pain, they fought. And then the host started talking about how the Manhattan Project used knowledge gained from the Radium Girls to protect their workers and how the ghosts of those girls and women protected people going forward...

And it made me think of all the ghosts, unnamed and unknown, who in their death protect us: the ghosts of the Titanic, the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire, the Quebec Bridge, and so many others. Disasters that made us change laws and protect people, not just because they were horrific but because survivors and survivors families demanded that we change; kept screaming and fighting and pushing until someone listened and something was fixed.

What a debt we owe.
