Thank you @shabre-legacy for the tag! No pressure at all tags: @tishinada @actualanxiousswampwitch
Rules: give us the links to your fic with the most hits, second most kudos, third most comments, fourth most bookmarks, fifth most words, and finally the fic with the least words. (All of the ones that hit these benchmarks are my Lana/Viri fics; the Lucia/Rigel stories are, well, about a rare pair)
Most hits: An Open Affinity, which I adore, has 16,794 hits. This story is How Lana Met Viri, How Lana and Viri Figured Things Out, How Lana Lost Viri and how it all worked out.  https://archiveofourown.org/works/12143142
Second most kudos: The Eternal Wrath, which has 296 hits. I love this story, which features Viri and Lana dealing with the time period post-KOTET. I'm especially proud of how I dealt with the Machines of War (locked behind a raid in-game), with Viri discovering the buried Machines were fueling a lot of the galaxy's problem spots, like Oricon and the "forbidden land" on Tatooine. Viri also took on the abilities and energy of every Machine she defeated, which came to a critical mass when she faced Zildrogg.  https://archiveofourown.org/works/14255019
Third most comments: Sithy Snippets, a series of shorts mostly about Lana and Viri, has 29 comment threads.  https://archiveofourown.org/works/13790595
Fourth most bookmarks: Five Times, which is about Lana and Viri's rekindled romance and reunion against the backdrop of the events of KOTFE, has 21 bookmarks.  https://archiveofourown.org/works/12670263
Fifth most words: Commander and Advisor, which is a three-chapter fic set against KOTET chapter 2, where Viri goes missing in the jungles of Dromund Kaas and Lana frets about it, has 11,855 words.  https://archiveofourown.org/works/15377217
Fic with the fewest words:  Kiss: Celebratory, which is about the moment after Viri finishes her battle on the Eternal Throne and wakes up, has 506 words.  https://archiveofourown.org/works/13373940
And this isn't in the rules but I thought I'd add.
Fic that is the only one in its ship tag: Alas, none of mine meet that criterion. Lucia/Rigel (Warrior of Light) is a rare pair, but I'm not the only one who has written a fic with that pairing.

Trick, mistake, secret and skin
This 100% did not start with me thinking Trick was one of the words
Yeah ok, my secret is that I'm always on my bullshit about Trick too. Another readmore because I uh...always always ramble hard about my girl.
skin: How comfortable is your OC in their skin? Do they grapple with anything that lives inside them—a beast, a curse, a failure, a monster? How do they face the smallest, weakest, most horrible version of themself? Are they able to acknowledge it at all?
So, the key to writing Trick in any way, shape, or form is that she is, 99.9% of the time, never comfortable in her own skin and always contending with some type of monster writhing beneath her skin. Is she confident and capable in her abilities? Yes. Willing to lead and make the tough decisions? Yes. Self-assured and secure in who she is? No, never.
Is it a contradiction in a lot of ways? Yes, but the girl's a mess of martyr complexes and insecurities. She almost always, honestly believes she is the most horrible version of herself (a coward and a monster), and though she would only call herself as such in a conversation where it's directly referenced, she never denies the accusation and does all she can with her actions to try and make up for her perceived shortcomings. In reality, the worst version of herself is the girl who gave up for a time (there's usually some point in her history where she went selectively mute and actively tried to kill herself), and in that regard, Trick often pretends that girl actually succeeded. She rarely acknowledges that time existed, ashamed as she is by it, and on the rare chance it does come up...well, the ensuing conversation isn't pretty.
As for the monsters beneath her skin, it varies by verse, but she's usually contending with some type of darkness or beast that's a thinly veiled allegory for her rage, desperation, and trauma (because I'm like that). A few examples, in no particular order:
Pack-verse: In Trick's original universe (a dystopian urban fantasy/sci-fi mashup), she's a wolf shapeshifter who was experimented on as a kid, which ultimately resulted in the line between human and beast blurring within her. Meaning, she has a tendency to go partial-to-full werewolf when deeply upset, among other differences (improved senses, heightened instincts and reflexes, etc). She's terrified of her capabilities and tries to repress herself as much as possible, which only backfires. The whole character arc there is about her coming to terms with who she is and what happened to her, and accepting that that side of her (the rage, the desperation, the trauma) is not actually a bad thing (and is actually more heightened because of her human choices, not the animalistic ones).
SWTOR: I took the Jedi Consular story and ran with it. The effects of the Force plague linger after chapter 1, even after Morrhage is defeated. I figured that lending out your soul to protect fellow Jedi against a Dark plague probably means you don't get everything back properly, even if you did everything right. She doesn't suffer from corruption so much (I actually believe she's not corruptible because she learned the shielding technique), but she's almost constantly, subconsciously using the shielding technique on herself to battle off the bit of Darkness she inherited from those she shielded. Other parts of her are missing altogether. It causes her a lot of chronic pain, but over time she learns to deal with it...until chapter 3 when she secretly starts shielding the Children and accidentally inherits some of the Emperor's power. KOTFE and KOTET are the worst time of her life, and she never knew so much relief as when the Emperor finally died in EOO.
BG3: My new project and current brainrot. Trick's issues are a little different here, as she's dealing with divinity instead of darkness (her backstory fic I'm working on is literally subtitled "You've Been Touched by Something Holy"). Instead of dealing with darkness, she's dealing with the fact she's literally been touched by the God of Death and bares the scars (both physical and emotional. I'm using this as an excuse to finally make this a valid design and not just metaphorical) that set her apart from her peers. It's still very much a metaphor for her rage and grief, but has a new and exciting flavor that I'm still working out all the kinks of.
secret: What's one secret your OC never wants anyone to know about them?
Again, depends on verse, but Trick always has at least one, world shattering secret she's keeping to herself. Generally, no matter in what iteration, there are deaths in her past she doesn't want anyone knowing about. The numbers and her exact involvement often vary, but she always feels a sense of guilt for people she either directly or indirectly killed through her actions and/or inactions. Otherwise:
Pack-verse: Her primary secret she wishes no one knew is, exactly, the number of people she's been responsible for killing as an agent of the government. However, that isn't a secret she can hide, as most people know and/or remember her committing those crimes. Instead, the secret she's trying most to hide is the aforementioned experimentation and ensuing consequences. She doesn't want anyone to know just how monstrous she really is, and how utterly disgusted she constantly feels about herself.
SWTOR: She tries to take the fact she was born an Imperial slave to the grave, but it does come out eventually to the Republic or Alliance. Instead, the one thing she will take to the grave is what happened to her as a result of the shielding technique. She'll never speak a word about the non-corruption corruption (thus, she'll never ask for help) because she fears how people will view her or treat her if they ever knew. The only exception is Cipher Nine, sometimes, but that man can and will both take a secret to the grave and never once consider betraying her trust.
BG3: The fact she died and was resurrected by a God. It's kind of hard to avoid in full, given the golden scarring is a dead giveaway of something divine happening to her, but she doesn't easily share the full story. And having died and being resurrected stands in direct contrast to being a cleric (and unrealized Chosen) of Kelemvor, nevermind the fact it was Kelemvor who asked her to live and resurrected her in the first place. It's complicated.
mistake: What's the worst mistake your OC ever made? What led to them making it? Have they been able to fix it? How have they moved on?
Trusting Torren, in every verse. The worst mistake she ever made is trusting her...ex? Abuser? Mirror image and narrative foil? All of the above?
Regardless, Torren is always her worst mistake. She tried so hard to fix him, but he was one of those people who couldn't be helped, and did nothing but manipulate and use her further because of her goodwill. People got hurt and died because of it, no matter the verse. She got hurt (usually assaulted), no matter the verse. Torren is always the worst mistake, no matter what, and the only reason she ever trusted him was because she was young and naive and just wanted to help.
Usually Trick rectifies it by, eventually, killing him. It's the only way she feels like she can rectify everything he's done (to her and to others), and it is her burden to bare alone (though sometimes Tav insists on doing the honors). Even after he's dead though, it takes a long time for her to move on from everything that happened. When she has Tav, he usually helps facilitate her moving on quicker, but she can get there on her own with enough time away from the situation and a metric fuckton of painful self-reflection.

The comics class I'm auditing is doing a comic of Little Red Riding Hood (the very old public domain version I think it's Grimm, but not sure). The class assignment for the week is to come up with 3 genres and the instructor is going to pick the genre and then the students have to tell the story in about 12 pages. (They also have to do full character turnarounds for each genre for each character. That is so fucking intense. I'd fail this class if I was actually taking it an not just observing. There is no pass/fail for the class. I'd still fail.)
So, I don't want to do that. Not interested in Little Red Riding Hood, but I have to come up with a story if I'm going to make my own comic to follow along.
Do you see where this is heading?
As I was digging through past fanfics and fanarts I found an AU story I wrote in 2014 or so based around the cut dialogue that had been datamined from the original swtor launch.
I haven't played the latest swtor stuff. I played through kotfe/kotet and barely remember it (and since my favorite companion had not returned for a storyline that should have included him I'm still kind of meh about Valkorian in general. Like I have opinions, but I don't even remember enough about it to know if they're valid or I'm just salty) I know Scourge and Kira returned and I did all that content to see the new romances and get a little snippet about what happened with them, but it was too short for me to want to write about it.
ANYWAY, about that AU fic that I never posted. From all appearances I had played around with making it into a comic, but never even got into the scripting stage. I think maybe that's why I never posted the text anywhere?
I didn't actually remember the fic when I read it, I only know I had planned a comic because I have an empty scrivner file with the fic name and the word comic at the end.
The story itself is 6,000 words long which is SUPER short for me so I can see that I was trying to reign it in to make it doable within what remains of my lifetime.
(Sad side note: I usually abandoned comics projects because I estimated the time it would take to make them and came out with several years. I would have finished at least 3 full fanfic comics by now if I had just stuck with it so yeah. Time: it passes. I need to stop giving up on everything.)
SO yeah. Making a comic about Remi and Scourge. Completely AU. Nothing that happens after the main JK story happens at all. No makeb/revan/ziost/kotfe/kotet/etc. because the story was written before any of those things even happened.
My recent Scourge drawing was a panel test. :D
We do this, not because it was easy, but because we thought it would be easy.
Tumblr media
That's the first act. Did I mention the text is only 6000 words? Clocking in at 22 pages the first act is the shortest text wise (1600 words). So... heh heh ehhhhh. Wish me luck?

#fic rec#Christ Arcann you've got it BAD#they're so 🥰#i love this side of their dynamic#and her making sure he's comfortable what with how worried he is about it#and also the way his style has changed since the last time they fought#back then he was trying to kill her and now he's wanting to protect her and help her be safe#I'm just 🥰
@captainofthefallen he DOES, he’s so damn smitten. Just head over heels and unfortunately very good at hiding it. I really liked exploring the idea of his style changing post-Voss. (especially bc I’ve been playing KotFE/ET while writing their pieces and there’s definitely an aggression to how he fights in KotFE that’s not there in KotET) His motivation and how he draws on the Force have changed, it makes sense his combat style would reflect that. ALSO he’s just such a damn good tank--even when set to heal--when you bump his influence up it’s ridiculous, so that’s bled into how I write him with her; he wants to protect, he’s a shield, and it wound up being a lot like the way Jedi Guardian is described
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(which, btw is Endrali’s second combat spec :3 Yes, that was on purpose)
Endrali is very comfortable with/confident in her skill with the Force and she knows that if she started to feel in danger from him she could fairly easily make herself NOT in danger from him, so she’s not worried in that respect. But she also knows that this might be something that, emotionally, he’s not ready for yet and she wants to respect that. She trusts him, but is willing to let it go if he doesn’t trust himself. (and her faith gives him the confidence and I’M. I need a moment)
I really need to get to the post-War for Iokath point in their fic bc it’s gonna be AMAZING

Current biggest crisis is I’ve decided my Jedi Knight is the long-lost sister of my Cipher Nine and I (a) still haven’t decided if she’s The Jedi Knight PC because I haven’t finished the damn class story, but I’m leaning Absolutely Fuckin’ Yes for Extra Emotional seeming likely based on what I’ve seen of it so far and also
(b) for Biggest Problem with this so far is that I’m 3/4′s of the way through writing them meeting and actually discovering this for the first time in the version where Nine/Tyr is the Commander and she survives and joins the Alliance and... I have no fucking clue where to put this on the timeline.
In the middle of KOTFE/KOTET? As the result of maybe like an Alliance Alert? (Wouldn’t be necessarily that he recruited her personally so much as she joined up other ways and then they have a Talk)
Or do I put this later after Jedi Under Siege and Ossus? Do I give them the additional problem of Tyr, for all the LOOKS a loyal Imperial, talking to his now possibly rogue Jedi Knight Republic sister joining an Alliance seemingly joined hand in hand with the Empire??? Do I have them try to unpack all of this on their first meeting? (As I write this, the answer is currently “no” so far in the fic bc hooo boy, she doesn’t want to open a can of galactic worms with the Alliance Commander on their first private meeting, she has PERSONAL questions (which is already a problem for her ex-Cipher unwittingly long-lost brother))
And also I’ve already written - in comparison to what I usually write - a boatload of things between Tyr and Theron all right around Nathema/the Incident of Joining and Double Agenting the Empire bc Fuck the Empire and I’ve made no mention of this Ever in Any of them which like tbf it wouldn’t be major bc this would still be Fresh and New with how I’m going now and not exactly a relevant thought on his head bc hehe boyfriend brain (they’re utterly useless around each other ffs how do they do anything they’re super competent spy bfs and also super head empty no thoughts all at once) bUT
Anyway, the TLDR is I’m having a crisis about when the siblings figure out they’re actually siblings because sweet blessed stars in the Ilum sky, Cipher Commander Tyr already had enough shit going on in his head about loyalty and his past and how fucked up this galaxy was BEFORE I decided to make him Worse and give him a sister he was too young to remember when they were separated by an Imperial attack. :)))
Gently puts a sticker on Cipher Nine’s forehead, this bitch can fit SO much trauma in there.
I do this because I love him. And therefore I am a Menace.
Oh, and (c) the unrelated issue is I also want to write about Tyr’s other relationships with like, the OG IA crew bc they’re a bunch of fucking misfits all sharing the same sliver of confined space together and how they all didn’t eat each other is actually probably the galaxy’s biggest mystery that it’ll never know about bc if the galaxy knew that much about Cipher Nine I think Tyr would simply Fade Away out of existence it’s already so alarming to him that he’s just the Commander now and people know about it like for all most of them know he’s just Some Fuckin’ Guy that pissed off the actual Emperor and somehow also managed to own his ass about it and by the stars themselves that’s all they should know please help him who thought any of this was a good idea

when you settle on an otp/ot3 and you cannot get fic ideas out of your head. Like, I've been considering theron/Lana/Ligastar for a while. while there is some angst in the beginning of KOTFE for several reasons, being alone with Lana finally allows Ligastar to tell her something he had wanted to say five years prior. Of course he worries how Theron will feel only to discover Theron had a sneaking suspicion and is fine with it. This is gonna make the one KOTET chapter so much more entertaining to write out.

So, I rolled another Agent. Ra'eun Tolvik.
He attended the IAOZ (Imperial Academy of Ziost) with Hulac and the two were close friends. They were in the same squad (and by default the same company) together. 1st battalion, Besh company, 2 platoon, 3rd squad. They were battle buddies whenever they needed to be and were on drill team together, being co-commanders their final year. They were the armed exhibition duet.
He also reached the position of Cyper agent, though Ra'eun would be sold out by a contact during a mission and be apprehended by the Republic. He'd spend the rest of the war, and then a good chunk of the war against the eternal empire, in a Republic prison.
In the break between KOTFE and KOTET, Hulac would learn of his whereabouts and have him freed. After recovering, Ra'eun would be offered a place in the EA and would take it.
I'm thinking of doing a fic about the two and their time in the IAOZ.

WIP Wednesday
Hello. I'll share 1300 words of a 4000 word wip that I posted some screenshots of the other day but deleted out of embarrassment. It's 4000 words of longing and it's a fic that's intended to have 3 parts / scenes / chapters? that end in smut, but so far it just feels very silly to me and I wonder whether I should even post it, but I do like it (or at least. can tolerate my own bullshit) after a second look. It's my swtor Imperial Agent oc Chri'dalto and Vector Hyllus and their first night sharing a bed after the kotet reunion (which I never played but watched on y/t) (I stopped playing mid kotfe).
I was tagged by @ghostwise! Thank you for thinking of me! I'll tag @bladesandstars, @the-eldritch-it-gay, @wild-moss-art, @lucius-the-sinful, @tadpole-apocalypse, @evilponds, @razrogue, @littleplasticrat and YOU.
I will mention that I also have at least part of my pre-fic notes included in this wip document as an admittance that I don't even fucking remember if Joiners / Vector sleeps. It has been a while since I played the game. We're on vibes.
.
A Joiner can reflect on the memories of a nest, and so sleep can often also bring a thousand-thousand dreams upon Killik such as Vector. When the nest limited Vector’s connections too them, he began having the same singular styles of nightmare — adrift. Alone.
In the ever expanding emptiness of the universe he watched as all life and creation slipped further and further away. The Song of the Universe muffled in the vastness of space. The warmth of connection, the knowledge of life, his senses, lied. His wife was gone, and one day he would be too, and the nest’s fate would be as mysterious and oppressive as the darkness at the edge of the galaxies.
Vector had rejoiced in his reconnection to the nest when questions and whispers had come through The Song that related to the destiny of his long-lost love. Meditation, community and hope had kept his dreams peaceful, vibrant, and whole.
It stood to reason that the first time he should rejoin his wife in bed for a night of repose should offer him the best sleep yet, but no. His mind was awash with questions and anxieties and the impatience of the nest, and he’d tried, with all the tact of a politician, to reassure them and council patience — perhaps he’d even succeeded, as their dreams which floated in and out of his perception were joyous and mundane, but somehow he was still having his nightmare. His Agent, his family and his nest, were slipping away, no matter how hard he clung to them.
.
Vector awoke with a start. He did not jolt upright, but he did kick a leg out in fear, as if he could have fought the darkness away from himself. The motion hadn’t really propelled him so far as his waking body could perceive, and yet still he was nearly sent into a panic by the unfamiliar sensation of a body around him, a hand squeezing his left wrist in response to his violent slip from sleep.
“Vector?” said that impossible voice at his neck, and Vector instantly bent his right arm so that he could squeeze at the hand holding onto him. His Agent. His wife. A safe bed and a blessed place to find himself, to be sure. How could he have mistaken their shared aura for anyone else?
“We are sorry to have woken you,” he said softly, tone shamed and throat dry.
The Agent didn’t respond, and Vector hoped she slept once more. He had been grateful that she had offered to share her bed, and did not now seek to have her regret their closeness, nor this embrace, because he was failing to let them rest.
He imagined rolling over onto his opposite side, upsetting the hold the Agent kept around him for the sake of being face to face, to observe her and her aura directly. To press his forehead to hers and …
And he realized that this was already what she had been doing, with the side of her face pressed to the back of his neck, her breath tickling across his skin, her proximity and perception inescapable.
They were close. Closer than he expected them to be. Even so …
He'd imagined two scenarios as the most likely for if the Agent sought to reassert their relationship: either they would want to take it slow and he would spend months courting her, or they would be as pent up as he was and they would be all sweat and passion. He wasn't prepared for gentle intimacy. To be held and … presumably expected not to touch, not to take it too far, not to fantasize about their scents and auras intermingling while their bodies rocked together in rapturous ecstasy.
The weight of their arm was more than enough to entice and feed Vector’s imagination. He pictured his wife's hand guiding his by the wrist to touch himself for her amusement. Or taking his hand and putting it in her hair to keep his body open to their groping fingers.
Vector carefully flexed his hand to watch his wife's grip spread and relax around his forearm. Her purple-black fingers could be gripping him elsewhere. They belonged in his mouth.
Vector briefly considered rolling off the bed to right himself, to rattle his brain and silence his cock. With luck he would be sleeping with his Cipher Nine for a long time now, with charm he might restore their sexual intimacy after a period of acceptable growth before he made a fool of himself also.
His aura fizzed like angry clouds and carbonated fluid, and with little patience for himself, Vector gently guided Cipher’s hand from his body and down to her side as he slipped from the bed. The refresher wasn’t far, and either a quick moment of personal maintenance would aid in quieting his mind and body for the night — especially while Cipher Nine’s scent clung to his skin as surely as her body protested being separated from him, or a far more restrained splash of cold water should discipline his imagination from it’s continuous hungry spirals.
He had taken but a step when he heard shifting in the sheets behind him and another worried beckoning of his name.
“Vector?”
With a deep breath, he angled himself as best he could, willing that the dark and his wife’s grogginess would spare him his embarrassment. He kept his hands at his sides, but knew his posture was anything but relaxed.
“Only going to the refresher, Cipher,” he said. At least his voice was regulated.
Cipher Nine extended her arm out across the space in her bed that he had occupied, her fingers grasping at empty air. She pouted, “Touch my hand.”
Her command given, she dropped her sleepy face into the pillows, and with a small sigh of amusement, Vector cautiously approached to do as was asked, letting her squeeze his palm in reassurance. She tilted her head to free her mouth from the prison of her bedding to grumble, “Kiss my forehead when you get back.”
He didn’t answer her then, satisfied to leave her presence while she was relaxed, and appeased, and grateful. He wished that he was much the same, and did not want to prolong their parting or risk her suspicion for the delay of his absence because of his own confused emotions. . Vector ran cold water on his fingers, and splashed it upon his face, willing himself into memories, both his own and from the shared bank of the nest. Ice cold water in chilling glaciers, fires ravaging all they consumed, the emptiness of isolation. However each memory brought with it, its twin. The relief of reunion, the smells of blood and blaster burns where Cipher Nine was at her most impressive, the nectar of life in a shared canteen first at her lips and then at his.
It took longer than he’d have liked to find comfort in his state of conduct, and returning to his wife’s chambers did little to alleviate his problems. He briefly wished he could bust into a swarm and touch her every possession, breathe and float upon every unoccupied space of shared air, cocoon her in warmth and the humming of wings. It was not a fantasy she’d share, he imagined, though the breadth her enthusiasm and support of his place in Killik society and the physiology that came with it remained a priceless and precious surprise every time he was reminded of it.
Instead he walked to the bed with the sure gait of a Killik, relishing in the hum of the ship and the song of the stars, and the beautiful aura of his sleeping love. Half a human but wholly a man, Vector sat close to his wife and extended his arm across her body to cage her beneath him, between his wrist and his body, where he could bend his elbow to lower himself to her level and kiss her head as requested.
Cipher Nine made a small noise of acknowledgment, slowly rolling over as Vector straightened his arm, assuring they had the space they needed for their horns between them. She may have just been tired, but her aura was … sharp, sluiced with discordant colors, and so with some concern, Vector asked, “How are you feeling?”

missed it by a few days but happy first birthday to a fic i never thought i'd write! caring? about arcann?? couldn't be me, until it absolutely was for one wild hyperfixated week or so. very slowly concocting a follow-up to this semi-motivated by my own experiences wading into trauma therapy so uh... stay tuned for that, if you're interested!
rating: general audiences archive warnings: n/a characters: arcann, female jedi knight/outlander, senya tirall, sana-rae tags: hurt/comfort, emotional baggage, that's an understatement, flashbacks, friendship words: 4,756
summary: Now that they met as allies, rather than enemies, Arcann found himself enjoying the exertion. He realized with a small thrill that the Commander was enjoying it too—a cocky smile played at the corners of her mouth as she reeled around in a complicated backhand maneuver.
A few moments later, Arcann gained the upper hand when she overcorrected and set her stance too wide—this was his opportunity. He easily batted away her poorly balanced strike and spun behind her, aiming the practice blade squarely between her shoulder blades—and froze.
***
Do you ever turn into the kind of writer who sits down and blacks out and all of a sudden realizes they've written like 10 pages on the healing power of friendship and the nature of morality? Because... same.

Birthday Cupcakes
His eyes drooped for the fifth time that minute, but still Arcann persisted. It was the third report of the day and he still had two more. If he wanted to finish before sunset, he needed to keep going, but he felt not motivation to do so. After all, his plans consisted of staying in his room for the rest of the day and pretending he didn’t exist.
With events in the galaxy constantly in flux many people forgot their birthdays, but Arcann wasn’t one of them. After all, the date was difficult to forget given it had once been a special day on Zakuul. The planet would spend the day in celebration. Parades would be seen on every major street, parties in every noble house and, much to his shame, hourly execution of those he considered enemies.
He didn’t miss those days. Even the rare good that came from his rule was tainted by the horrors he’d inflicted. So, he felt it best to stay away for the day. Many in the Alliance still felt the sting of his rule, and he wasn’t eager to keep reminding them of everything they had lost.
Still, he had given himself one gift, which was to do his work in bed in his favourite pair of boxers. It was not much of a gift, but Arcann didn’t care. The sheets helped him fight off the chill of a winter on Odessen and the bed was far more comfortable than his steel desk chair.
“Arcann!”
Looking up from his data pad, he smiled broadly as he saw the Commander enter. Seeing her always bought him joy, and this was no exception. Still a small part of him was suspicious. He hadn’t felt her approach, which meant she’d shielded her aura. Why would she do that?
With a grin, she bounded over to the bed and placed a large, red rectangular box next to him. Atop the box was a white ribbon with a small card attached to it with a pink string.
“I know you didn’t want to make a huge deal out of your birthday, but I couldn’t let it go by without doing something. So, I’ve spent all morning making these!”
Pulling the lid off revealed a sea of mini cupcakes. There was no end to their variety. Each one was unique, and he had no doubt this would be reflected in their flavour. Yet, the smell of them wasn’t some horrid mix of conflicting scents. In fact, it was divine, and served to make him realise just how hungry he was.
His stomach took over and he began to reach for an orange cupcake with a blue ball half buried in its top.
“Wait!”
He halted at the sound of her voice and looked up to see her smiling at him, amusement clear on her face.
“Before you try any of them you need to read the card. It has a special message I want you to see.”
He wanted to protest but her smile, as usual, quelled any resistance he could muster. Giving the cupcakes one last look of longing, he reached for the card. Breaking the string that held it in place, he opened it to read its contents.
He read it, then quickly read it again. He was perplexed by the message it contained. Was it a mistake? Looking up at her he saw an encouraging look on her face, so he assumed it wasn’t, and decided to follow the card’s instructions.
“Say aaaaaahhhhhh”
Not missing her opportunity, the Commander deftly shoved a cupcake into Arcann’s open mouth.
“They’re good right?”
With his mouth still full of chocolatey goodness, Arcann could only eagerly nod in acknowledgement before swallowing.
“I’m glad but…”
She moved toward him and her face became close enough for him to feel the heat of her breath on his cheek.
“You got some of the cream on your lips. Don’t worry, I’ll get it.”
The kiss was all-consuming. It took everything from Arcann except the feeling of her lips on his and the taste of cream on his tongue. For as long as it lasted, it was all he knew and wanted to know.
Much to Arcanns displeasure, it ended abruptly. The Commander pulled away, giving him a cheeky look before starting to walk back to the door, leaving Arcann confused and craving more.
“Now I best let you get back to those reports. After all, what kind of girlfriend would I be if I kept my boyfriend from his work?”
Taking one second to recover from the kiss, he jumped forward. A flick of his hand made the door close as his other grabbed the Commander and spun her around. The action left her no choice but to lean against the now shut door, allowing him to place his hands on either side of his head.
It was now his turn to lean in. Taking advantage of their closeness he gazed into her eyes. Red flushed her cheeks and he knew he’d won her game.
“If I didn’t know any better my love, I’d think this is a ploy for you to take advantage of my birthday to have yourself some fun.”
A cheeky smirk appeared on her face.
“Who says it only has to be me having fun?”
Arcann chuckled. It seems they’d both won.
“Oh, don’t worry it’s definitely going to be both of us. After all, what kind of boyfriend would I be if I didn’t thank my wonderful girlfriend for her gift?”

When the force-lightning hit Fiika, it turned gold; and crackled around her before it not so much as it sunk in, it was more like she absorbed the lightning like a sponge absorbed water.
“Got anything worse? That was rather ticklish.” Fiika grinned over her shoulder to Lana. “See? I can hardly feel it.”
Lana’s anxiety spiked. It wasn’t that Fiika shook off enough lightning to stun a rancor, it wasn’t that it changed color.
Fiika’s eyes had turned into embers. The glowing eyes that Valkorian, Vaylin, and on occasion, Arcann, had. Lana’s own eyes glowed that when she was specifically furious.
And here was Fiika, who could not wield the Force but was becoming immune to it, in a way. With her eyes glowing.
It sent chills down Lana’s spine. And not good ones.

KotFE/KotET Headcanon Time!
credit to @pauletta-00 for posting the original!! i was tagged in it by @thehighground uwu- and this is gonna b Long so ill hide it under a neat little read more
im tagging @gaycytharat , @mimabeann & anyone else who sees this!!
1. Starting with basics. Who is your Outlander (which class, what their aligment)? How did they end up being frozen in carbonite for 5 years? Why did you make them the Outlander?: so as ive said before, i dont actually have a single outlander!! ive taken a character to represent every class and they all play their own part in the outlander’s story- they first come together during shadow of revan, are decided to be a strike team that kind of transcends alignments, and move on to kotet/kotfe. genetura is the jk, t’igrea is the jc, hirull is the smug, dten is the trooper, net is the inquis, annuy the wrath, heydhin the bh, and nevidas the agent. ive actually decided, carbonite wise, that only a few of them get frozen for the 5 years- and i havent decided who specifically, yet. i decided to have this group of outlanders bc i dont think the storyline really perfectly fits one class- and i like the found family aspect :3c
2. Now, to the rest of classes. What happens to them during KotFE/ET? Did they know the Outlander? Were they allies, enemies, family? Do they join the Alliance or have something else to do? Do they play a major or a minor role in the story? Spare no detail (if you wish, of course): the ocs i have aside from the main classes are sindta, irus’h, and nephret- tho i havent talked ab nephret yet :3c. sindta is a smuggler who used to be apart of hirulls crew, but splits once she becomes an official privateer. irus’h is just a regular jedi, and i havent decided on anything for nephret yet. either way- sindta becomes a pretty high rolling smuggler who is later recruited to the alliance once he finds that hirull is alive, and irus’h probably joins too- she doesnt really fit in with the other jedi.
3. What about companions? Do you follow their in-game story or have headcanons for them? Did they stay with your non-Outlander characters or not? Why?: haha Oh geez. thats a lot of companions to keep track of! i think more or less it works out in all the canon ways. this is also a question that kinda pertains to who gets frozen in carbonite and who doesnt! so. will answer some other time :)
4. If applicable: how your characters react if the Alliance joins the opposite faction on Iokath and after that? For example: how do Sith characters feel about joining the Republic? Will they stay or leave (if it's too spoiler-ish, then feel free to skip this)?: soo another canon divergent-ish thing is that. the alliance leaders believe its in their best interest to keep the alliance neutral with a republic spin, so they do plant nevidas and possibly annuy/net to be saboteurs. the rest either remain neutral, or ally with the republic.
5. If applicable: if your Commander decides to be a saboteur, would they tell anyone (PC or companions)? Why/why not?: all of the saboteurs make their intentions known to lana and theron, but thats about it. nevidas is already with theron, so no relationship troubles there. net currently has no partner, and annuy probably tells quinn. the republic “”saboteurs”” probably dont tell their partners, though, just because theyre doing less damage to their respective faction and more.. keeping an eye on them. publicly, the alliance says that they’re siding with the republic- but that is not the case :0.
6. How would your characters react if one of their companions is exiled or dead because of Outlander's choices? For example: sith warrior's reaction if Commander doesn't save Vette?: !! my kink is an everyone lives au, and whats sexy about having 8 outlanders instead of 1- you can NEVER be shortstaffed :D annuy would go with one or two others to help vette, and heydhin would take his crew to help torian. easy peasy baby
7. If you have something written about anything from the above (bc I know some people do), share the links to your works (again, if you feel like it)!: owo i... DID write the first chapter to the shadow of revan story but. im really anxious ab my writing/sharing it anywhere. i was thinking of putting it on ao3 but then people could SEE it and i.. aaa :( but i guess if people asked for it i could put it up .

I stayed up way too late to answer these, it was worth it
Questions by @pauletta-00 *dances* here we gooo, some cautions before reading the answers: 1) will contain spoilers for much much later in the fic so don’t read the answers if ya don’t want dem spoilers. I’m gonna try and keep ‘em vague enough that they don’t give everything away, cause I gotta make ya go read it, don’t I now? 😉 2) While I follow KOTFE/ET as a loose guideline it is just that. A guideline, in a lot of places we veer waaaaayyy off the established canon because *singing to the tune of a popular song* ✨it’s my fanfic and I do what I want to ✨ so don’t any of y’all yell at me because my headcanons are different pls? ok good :D
With that out of the way, the questionsss
1. Starting with basics. Who is your Outlander (which class, what their aligment)? How did they end up being frozen in carbonite for 5 years? Why did you make them the Outlander?
Tumblr media
(my own art because losing an eye is not a scar option in-game and it’s one of her most defining features)
Vano Saal-Shenly - Canon Sith Warrior (alignment: Light IV in game, I class her as Neutral Good) and Empire’s Wrath. She got made the Outlander because it just made the most sense, also there are some parallels between her fate/whereabouts (including the amount of time they were “missing” to each other) in KOTFE/ET and that of her wife in earlier parts of the (class) story that I very very much did on purpose 😉 She was also the Wrath, so it made the most sense for her to end up on Marr’s ship when it went boom and led into KOTFE. Pretty much follows the canon there, Vano cuts her ship loose, tells her crew + wife to gtfo of there, she and Marr are taken prisoner and she gets frozen in carbonite after the dust up in the throne room. Becomes the Alliance Commander
2. Now, to the rest of classes. What happens to them during KotFE/ET? Did they know the Outlander? Were they allies, enemies, family? Do they join the Alliance or have something else to do? Do they play a major or a minor role in the story? Spare no detail (if you wish, of course).
Aria Saal-Shenly: Human, Major role. Vano’s wife, semi-canon Jedi Consular (alignment: Grey/Dark I, Chaotic Neutral) (follows the Consular story arc grey-Dark aligned, is in fact a Sith Inquisitor playing sleeper agent). Alias “The Wrath’s Shadow” (for obvious reasons) Joined back up officially with Vano during the SoR arc, they marry sometime in the interim between Rishii and killing Revan; on the other flagship with Lana, Theron and the others when Vano’s crew returns to give them the news. Inconsolable after her wife’s disappearance and refuses to accept that she’s dead (they share a Force Bond, so Aria knows and becomes increasingly frustrated when nobody will “listen to her telling them damn it!!”), drives Lana and the others crazy by continuing to try and look for her wife and putting herself in danger in doing so. Sticks with the Alliance, of course, her wife’s the Commander XD helps Vano to manage Odessen-side things of the Alliance, specialising in helping Ni’kasi and Sana-Rae at the Force Enclave of course.
Saarai Ahaszaai: Sith Pureblood, Major role. Niece to Vowrawn and twin sister to Ni’kasi (SI). Alt Sith Warrior in-game. Light I/II, Chaotic Good, but hiding out on Rishii to escape being convicted of a serious crime and exposing her family to Vitiate/Valkorion (who would absolutely kill them if he knew) picked up by Aria and Vano during their search for Lana and Theron during that part of the storyline. Joins up with the Alliance because she and her family have a personal vendetta (tm) against Vitiate/Valkorion and she wants to stab that dude too. Eventually becomes Empress alongside Vano who  remains as the Commander (I still need to work out the details but basically it’s like...coalition government style thing and Saarai and Vano are the joint “final decision” voice mm’kay? hopefully that makes sense), with Lana, Theron and Aria to watch as Marr’s ship go boom. Has to restrain Aria when she loses her shit when they try to tell her Vano’s dead, helps Lana and the others to track Vano down and formulate the rescue plan. Stays with Aria to make sure she stays put like she was told while Lana gets Vano out of carbonite.
Ni’kasi Ahaszaai: Sith Pureblood, semi-Major role. Niece to Vowrawn and twin sister to Saarai (alt SW). Semi-canon Sith Inquisitor/Darth Occulus (follows the canon Inquisitor storyline, but is not related to Kallig, instead related to Vowrawn and lurking in hiding under Vitiate’s nose. Ends up as a “slave” when she takes the fall for her twin’s “crime” in order to protect her.), Light I/Grey, Lawful Neutral. With Saarai and the others on the ship when the big bad happens, sticks with the Alliance (and her twin) to try and track down Vano. Tries to contact Vowrawn and the other Dark Councillors etc., but can’t reach them obviously.
Merak Shenly: Mirialan, Minor role. Younger brother to Vano and friend to Aria as they briefly worked together before Aria returned to being a plant in the Jedi Order, Smuggler, Grey/True Neutral (mostly non-canon as of yet, I need to fully play through the Smuggler story and see how much of it I can graft into the fic-verse if it works or not), takes Aria’s side and works tirelessly to help them track down his sister, is likely the one to find the lead that takes them to Zakuul. Joins the Alliance and works alongside Hylo to run ammo/supplies etc. to the Alliance as they need it.
I haven’t yet played the Bounty Hunter or Trooper storylines, and my only current Imperial Agent is Aria’s mother (Light V/Lawful Good); she runs semi-canon in that she defects to the Republic, but is instead found out by the DC and Aria is sent to kill her as part of her Sith trials, so she’s dead long before KOTFE/ET happens.
I have a Jedi Knight too, but I honestly couldn’t figure out how to put him into the plot so I just left him out for now, I guess he was recruited and is probably in the background somewhere idk sjhsdyuidg
3. What about companions? Do you follow their in-game story or have headcanons for them? Did they stay with your non-Outlander characters or not? Why?
Mainly managed to plan out for the Warrior/Consular companions, haven’t thought deep enough into the Inquisitor companions yet, though I imagine at least Andronikos, Khem Val, Talos and Xalek will likely return to join the Alliance or at least ally with them somehow, because I love them ;-;
Qyzen: Stung by Aria’s betrayal and “leaves” for a while, re-recruited to the Alliance as canon/in-game and the two eventually patch up their relationship (as best they can, but are not as close as before). Tharan/Holiday, Felix, Nadia and Zenith do not return in my fic-verse. They cut ties with Aria after they find out her true loyalties are to the Empire and not the Republic.
Vette: Stays with Aria, Saarai, Ni’kasi etc. initially, eventually goes missing during their searches for Vano and loses contact with the rest of them, ends up teaming up with Gault and returning canonically/as in-game.
Quinn: is court-martialled and thrown in prison after the Quinncident. Released sometime during the five-year carbonite shebang, becomes an officer/aide to Darth Vowrawn, later joins the Alliance along with Vowrawn on Iokath. He and Vano reconcile of sorts, though she no longer considers him a friend and simply a “tactical advisor”. Quinn knows he fucked up so he doesn’t dare complain about it, or Aria will absolutely E N D him.
Jaesa: stays with Aria and co,
4. If applicable: how your characters react if the Alliance joins the opposite faction on Iokath and after that? For example: how do Sith characters feel about joining the Republic? Will they stay or leave (if it’s too spoiler-ish, then feel free to skip this)?
Aria was never truly on the Republic’s side, so she very much supports joining the Empire. Saarai and Ni’kasi originally came from the Empire so of course they’re enthusiastic. Merak is skeptical, but trusts his sister (and sister-in-law) so doesn’t protest even though the Sith do scare him, a lot.
5. If applicable: if your Commander decides to be a saboteur, would they tell anyone (PC or companions)? Why/why not?
Haven’t got this far yet to be able to plan this out, lemme get back to you when I do lol
6. How would your characters react if one of their companions is exiled or dead because of Outlander’s choices? For example: sith warrior’s reaction if Commander doesn’t save Vette?
Aria pretty much only cared about Qyzen out of her companions, he comes back fine in the end so she’s a-okay. Other than that the only person she would be deeply affected by losing again is Vano herself. She will fucking kill as many someones as she can get to before Saarai stops her if they let her wife go bye bye again.
don’t have a bounty hunter to be upset about Torian. I don’t hate him, he’s a great guy and I really enjoyed his character, but I cannot bring myself to not save Vette ;-; Vette and Vano have a sisterly-like relationship and her lock-picking etc. skills are very important to the Alliance. That Twi’lek ain’t dying on nobody’s watch hahahaha
haven’t yet had a chance to plan out anybody else’s, don’t think there are any choices in game (or that I’ve planned out in the slightly-altered fic timeline) that would affect this. May change as I get that far ahead and add or change things to fit!
7. If you have something written about anything from the above (bc I know some people do), share the links to your works (again, if you feel like it)!
The only thing I have published out on the web atm is Aria’s part of the class story, “Creeping Shadows”, which is on AO3, go give it a read if you want (rated M for mature themes like mentions of drugs & alcohol and frequent swearing etc.):
Creeping Shadows on AO3
I have pretty much all of the rest planned out, I’m just a big dummy who likes to write chronologically and as of yet cannot manage to write multiple fics at once, I will get through every part of this fic if it kills me or takes me 20 years so help me god. If you wanna hear more about my dumb children you can also DM me I could literally yell stuff about them for hours on end 😆😆

props to @rainofaugustsith for virtually holding my hand while I took Raz through The Nathema Conspiracy, since my anxiety hellbrain had me convinced that even though I knew I had done everything right to not have her be the one to show up at the gate with the ancient guardian droid that it was going to glitch and it was gonna be her. If it had been her, I would have had a one-woman riot. I know it’s irrational, but lots of little things glitched in Raz’s story (not getting codex entries, titles taking like three days to show up), so I was concerned.
Oh, but also, because Raz went the Empress route, there’s someone in the Order that absolutely does break my heart and it’s just rude.

To recover from the datacron insanity of last night, proper side-by-side of the siblings who didn’t know they were siblings. The deeper I get in the Jedi Knight story, the more I feel bad for doing this to them.
As if their lives weren’t already complicated enough!!! I dare say I’m almost being encouraged, even! SWTOR, how could you??!!! Sly bastards....
And while we’re here, if my insane ramblings from last night caught any attentions, here is the... rough idea of how the hell this happened to begin with below the cut :3
sO, let’s get this crazy family reunion party on the road!
- An Imperial attack on their home when they were children claimed their parents and ultimately also ends up giving Rhiannon her scars. Rhiannon does her best to look out for her little brother, but they get separated in the chaos.
- Rhiannon is rescued by a Jedi and, found to be Force-sensitive, ends up getting raised with and trained in the Order. She asks after her brother a few times, but ultimately accepts that the Republic never found him and it’s probably easier to assume the worst.
- Younger than his sister and too young to remember much of this chaos, Tyr is taken in by an Imperial family and raised on Dromund Kaas, likely by his to-be father - a military man of some respect and mild success, though not particularly notable. What is notable is his Sith wife and daughter already at home and that sure sets a Vibe for not a wink’s worth of sensitivity to the Force Tyr.
- They grow up into a headstrong but successful Jedi Knight and Cipher Nine, respectably. Maybe they know of each other by reputation and rumors, but Rhiannon would’ve never guessed in 1,000 years her brother was an Imperial Cipher agent.
- Then the galaxy goes to shit, KOTFE/KOTET, Valkorian’s a bitch, a former spy becomes the commander of the Eternal Alliance, and suddenly it’s one weird family reunion on Odessen when they’re both well into their thirties, if not going on their forties and... they decide to maybe... try this as... friends first.
- I, ultimately, have a lot of emotions about all stages of this and one day will manifest it as another fic for the collection. So I plan, at least. I’m trying to be a good noodle and finish the JK story first because the more I see of it, the more I am convinced it’s absolutely a good and terrible idea for Rhiannon to be The Jedi Knight
