Hi! Since we've got a lot of new people joining, I thought it was time to update the pinned post on my blog. I'm generally glad to meet other adults, especially other sapphic FFXIV players or fans, but:
1. This is a blog for adults only. Minors DNI. This is non negotiable. If you are under 18 do not follow or interact. One more time, if you are under 18 years old you are not welcome here for any reason. If you are a minor and you follow me you will be blocked instantly. This is an adults-only space and I ask for that boundary to be respected.
2: This is a blog run by a sapphic lady. My fandom interests are sapphic. This blog is trans/ace/nonbinary/aro/bi/pan/lesbian/gay inclusive. If you are not, this blog is not for you.
3. If you try to start drama here, fling insults, or engage in fandom sheriff or trolling behavior with comments or reblogs, you will be blocked immediately without comment. I'm not dealing with your drama or wasting my time debating you, so take it elsewhere.
I'm currently into FFXIV and post about it and other fannish stuff that comes into my orbit. I no longer play SWTOR but still appreciate good content about Lana Beniko and other characters I like.
When I played Star Wars: The Old Republic I wrote a guide for solo players, Rain Plays SWTOR. My goal with the guide was to help players navigate the game and break down some of the more challenging content. As of November 2023 I've left the guide up, but please be advised that since I wrote it BEFORE 7.0, I don't know what may have changed since then.
I also wrote SWTOR fanfiction, which can be found at Ao3. My SWTOR OC info and worldbuilding is here. Fanfic index is at the top of the page. I don't have a FFXIV index yet, but I'm working on it.
My SWTOR OCs all have profiles here:
Viridana Dragoi (SWTOR version)
Other characters
Previously asked/answered questions and headcanon about my OCs
I am not a fan of the Jedi in Star Wars, with the exception of the ones in Luke's New Jedi Order from the original extended universe (you know, Mara Jade, Jaina, Jacen, etc.). If you like the Jedi, cool, groovy, I promise I won't come on your blog and bother you about it, but I just don't feel the same and I will not debate you about it. I try to post with #Jedi Critical and #Republic Critical when I can, so you can avoid posts which are, you guessed it, Jedi and Republic critical if you wish.
Comments and DMs are for my mutuals only, mostly because I'm really shy and prefer to stay in my own corner with interaction.

I think one day we should simply make the Movie Goncharov and advertise it as a remake and thereby confuse the general public by making them think there is a 1973 Movie named Goncharov, directed by Martin Scorsese, that they somehow can't find but still go to the cinema to see what the movie is about and then in a corner somewhere after the movie ended there will be a few Tumblrinas that just rant about how much better the original Movie was which will make outsiders even more confused.
I think this is a great idea. Also we could find other Tumblrinas by just simply stating how much better the original was after the movie and it could become a addition to the "I like your shoelaces" Phrase.

What are your Top 3 controversial Swtor opinions?
You know I don't play the game that much xD
I also don't really pay attention to what is going on around the game, so I literally don't have any opinions despite liking the game xD
I don't even know what would qualify as "controversial" xD

After a long time I finally decided to draw some fanart and who would be better than Bruno Madrigal?
I'm still leaning how to draw digitally but I think I'm getting better!
Anyway, all kind of criticism is welcome! I'd love to improve my art! Please be kind though.
Also, since I'm as white as it gets, I'm kinda scared I might not have done his skintone perfect, so please if anyone feels offended by it tell me right a way and I'll do my best to fix it!

Speaking of Hermitcraft, I absolutely love the dynamic between Grian and Scar.
I just watched their recent Hermitcraft Episodes and I loved how Grian immediately went to Scar so that he would help him not to start a Resistance against Ren. Or that later in Scars Episode Grian just used the fishing rod on Scar and Scar just stood there letting it happen, occasionally eating his cookies so he won't die of fall damage.
Their friendship is just so great and I hope that one day I will find a friendship like this myself.

a collection of hive headcanons
physical touch and presence are very significant for the hive. it starts from thrallhood, when the world is defined by what you can fit between your teeth and what is under your claws. later it becomes more complex and potent. proximity can be a challenge or a threat, true affection or the lure for a trap. yet all of these can still mean love
thralls hatch in large broods and stick together, both when hunting and at rest. numbers mean safety, and a greater chance to escape danger in the crowd. hive overseeing thrall often get tired of herding them from place to place (and often more than a few stray or get lost or start fights) and will transport them in a great wriggling tangle like a thrall katamari
thrall will bite anything and everything, but it isn’t always from hunger. often a bite can be curious and investigative, or even reassuring - sometimes you gnaw on part of your brood to know that they’re still there
becoming a knight is a fairly simple thing - just a matter of gathering enough strength for a period of rushed growth. becoming a wizard is more complicated. wizards guard the method closely, encouraging acolytes to have to seek it out through threats, leverage or digging in secret places. it is a known chokepoint and often a problem in more isolated broods, where a lone wizard will try to ensure no rivals can arise. wizard-heavy courts such as the high coven operate on a complex and esoteric web of favours, sponsorship and tithe chains to get around this
performances are a big deal. ascendant hive will often go all out with showcases of specialized spells or group rituals, or performing shared stories and notable history - complete with dying if your role demands it. bad or merely boring shows also tend to end in death, from an unamused audience
the deathsong is always a hit, but by necessity debuts prior to or during battles. only wizards with a great deal of power and influence can get away with killing off a chunk of their armies for a show
art shows up in other ways too - in the evolution and adaptation of runes and sigils, the eternal and very lethal debates about individualized spells versus brutally optimized ones. there is expertise and pride in the making of shriekers and ships, and the design of war moons. it is all drowned in a singular purpose, and so unrecognizable to any outside the hive

I’m Really Feeling Something about that statue of oryx fighting akka enshrined in what savathun proclaims is tantamount to her mind
she really doesn’t refer to oryx much on-screen, apart from lightly hinting towards him and ghaul in the same breath in one of this season’s friendly conversations. she’s much more comfortable discussing xivu. how could she not, when her sister is, for all intents and purposes, gunning for her? (I am still holding out hope they’re working together in secret but! who knows!) but oryx is... a layered absence, I think the closest we have in her private lore is the yearning and loss she expresses in the hawkmoon lore tab
the statue is also quite likely a commentary on her feelings about worms, so it can serve a lot of purposes at once. very efficient of her

things I appreciate about gw2:
- silly quests where you’re transformed into or disguised as various things. I just spent some time running around as a pig yesterday, it reminds me of the quests in lotro where you’re a chicken
- all the map completion
- progressing events on the map that temporarily affect it, like bridges being torn down
- sometimes an event has a whole little chain depending on if you succeed or fail. fighting off an attack might lead to repairing an outpost and then assembling a team to take out an important enemy or structure. or failing to defend a bridge means protecting the engineers that come along to fix it
- just the general richness of each area with npcs and ambient dialogue, many moving around and doing their own things

WoW and FFXIV WoW and FFXIV: Boosted Raptr Playtime And ArcheAge Playtime "cratered"
Another Raptr report for another month. Yesterday Raptr.com released its top PC games list for November and MMOs did rather well. Unsurprisingly, World of Warcraft was able to climb up the list to second place due to the Warlords of Draenor expansion. Raptr's press release states that "The game's monthly playtime was up 71% versus October." Even though WoW "likely" drew from League of Legends' numbers however, it wasn't able to take over the MOBA's number one spot.
ArcheAge playtime fell by 39.97 percent, however World of Tanks (and Final Fantasy XIV) saw increases in theirs. Raptr says that Guild Wars 2 rose in rank but lost playtime in November over October. SWTOR has fallen two places since October.
Raptr roundups are subject to the condition that they only represent Raptr users on desktop computers. Some MMO studios also employ in-game rewards to boost Raptr numbers. But since some of these games refuse to publish data on population and you can call this the next best snapshot of popularity other than navigating the servers yourself.
[Source: Raptr press release which we're putting here] Top Played PC Games November 2014 --- Dragon Age, Call of Duty debut, World of Warcraft revived
Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare and Dragon Age: Inquisition made their debuts in the Most Played List this month. World of Warcraft's most recent expansion gave the MMO an increase in popularity after ten years. Spider Solitaire also made a surprising return to the top 20 after an absence of a while. The guilty parties know who they are.
Highlights
League of Legends remained in first place in November despite losing 15.88% of playtime when compared to October. Following the sale on Halloween it reached its peak at the middle of the month. While the game's gameplay was steady for most of the month however, the 4.20 update brought lengthy queues that greatly affected playtime.
World of Warcraft's Warlords of Draenor likely took time away from LoL and other major games. The monthly play time of the MMO was up 71.3 percent over October. As is expected, daily play time was affected by the expansion and the game's 10 year anniversary events. It roughly doubled after Draenor was launched, and continued to grow until the end of November.
The other top five games weren't as fortunate. DOTA 2, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Smite saw a net decrease in hours. Smite beat ArcheAge for the fifth position. DOTA 2 and CS.GO saw double-digit drops (12.49 percent and 11.59% respectively), but Smite dropped less than one percent.
Archeage however, was shattered by 39.97 percent, which is why Smite's small climb to the top of the list.
The downward trend continued with Minecraft (-11.70 percent), Diablo III (down nearly 45% -We blame WoW for this) and Hearthstone (-13.11 percent, but we expect a rebound in December, thanks to Goblins vs Gnomes).
Chart newcomer Dragon Age, Inquisition, landed in tenth position despite a release in November.
While sliding down the ranks, World of Tanks managed to increase 7.72 percent of playtime in comparison to October. While the WGLNA Gold League Qualifying rounds were held throughout the month the game was at its highest during Thanksgiving weekend, due to XP multipliers as well as holiday discounts on premium items.
Final Fantasy XIV saw a 20.97% increase in the amount of time played. The increase could be due to late October and early November hotfixes to the game, and the release of the Game of the Year edition that offered additional 60 free days of adventure (plus all the previously released content). Mid-month DDOS attacks that caused login issues, did not have a major impact on game play.
Warframe and Guild Wars 2 each rose in popularity despite losing playtime in November, compared to October. Warframe held a Movember community event that led to an Guinness World Record. Guild Wars 2's Tangled Path content released with new areas, items, skins and more.
Call of Duty: Advance Warfare -- always more of an Xbox-based juggernaut was released in the first week of November, and based on current trends we may not be able to see it in December's Top Played.
For the first time since October 2013, Spider Solitaire made its way back into Most Played. Free 51 It is now clear that Thanksgiving isn't only about turkey, football and arguing with your family- it's also about Solitaire. The 27th of November was the peak day for Solitaire games.
Note The Share number for each game is the amount of time devoted to that game by Raptr members. It is useful to assess the relative playing time between games.

Miss Gwendoline looks divine in Wednesday- the pin-up look suits her!
(Also, if there’s a season 2 I personally want Domhnall Gleeson to show up, maybe as Gwen’s lover)
Ohhh I need to watch it then!! I've seen some pictures of her in the series but haven't had time to sit and watch it yet. And oh yes Mr.Gleeson! I miss him 😢

2, 8, 26 for SWTOR asks!
Oh thank you for this!
2. Favorite class has to be the Imperial Agent, not because of how they fight, but the story line! It is so intriguing and it has so many twists and turns in it? Plus the male character's voice is so smooth I just love him. Least favorite class? I haven't actually played all the classes yet (even though I've been playing for the last 5 years, I take long breaks between my playthroughs lol) but I know the Trooper story line was a chore to get thru, love the character though and Elara Dorne is one of the best romances hands down. Oh let me show you pictures of my agent and trooper though!

Do you ever just get so angry at something that has absolutely no impact on your day to day life and if you simply ignored it all would be fine? But your brain just cannot let it go and it's existence alone is like a slap in the face? Cause that is the current mood.

My #1 post of 2022
So I just got done reading Barriss' story from the book Star Wars Stories of Jedi and Sith. Her chapter was titled A Jedi's Duty. Without any spoilers I'll say this:
Karen Strong captured an amazing embodiment of our beloved Mirialan. She captured her feeling and mannerisms perfectly.
Barriss truly was a teenager that got fucked over and her mental health is just... gone (we all figured this it's just been confirmed).
ALSO, she fidgets XD she likes to trace the heart on her belt to calm herself.
I bought the book specifically for her story so I can't speak for the rest of the tales but hers was just a good story. Barriss needs a hug, always.

WoW and FFXIV WoW and FFXIV: The Game has been Boosted Raptr Playtime; ArcheAge Playtime "cratered"
Another Raptr report for another month. Yesterday Raptr.com published its most played PC games list for November, and MMOs performed quite well. The Warlords of Draenor expansion has seen World of Warcraft climb to #2 on the list. Raptr's press release says that "The MMO's monthly playtime increased 71% compared to October." As with all roundups, Raptr roundups come with the caveat that they're based on Raptr users on PCs not all gamers. Some MMO studios are also known to boost their Raptr numbers with in-game incentives. The games might not release information about their player base, so you might consider this to be the most reliable indicator of the game's popularity, aside from a tour of the servers.

As was expected, the daily play time was impacted by the expansion as well as the game's 10 year anniversary events. The game's play time nearly doubled following Draenor's launch and remained strong until November.
The other top five games weren't as fortunate. DOTA 2, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Smite saw an increase in hours. Smite beat ArcheAge for the fifth position. While DOTA 2 and CS:GO experienced double-digit declines (12.49 percent and 11.59% respectively), Smite was down less than one percent.
Archeage however, was shattered by 39.97%; hence Smite's modest rise to the top of the list.
The downward trend continued with Minecraft (-11.70 percent), Diablo III (down almost 45% -we blame WoW for this) and Hearthstone (-13.11%), although we anticipate a rebound in December due to Goblins against Gnomes).
Chart newcomer Dragon Age: Inquisition made an impressive debut into November's Most Popular Games, placing tenth despite its release in late November.
World of Tanks saw a lower playtime however it managed to gain 7.72 percent more play time than October. Though the WGLNA Gold League Qualifying rounds were held throughout the month play time was at its highest during the Thanksgiving weekend, due to XP multipliers and the holiday discounts on premium items.
Final Fantasy XIV increased in play time by 20.97 percent. The rise could be attributed to the late-October and early November hotfixes to the game, as well as the release of the Game of the Year edition that offered additional 60 free days of adventure (plus all the previously released content). The game's playtime was not affected by mid-month DDOS attacks which caused login problems.
Each Guild Wars 2 and Warframe increased in rank despite having less time to play in November than in October. Warframe hosted a Movember community event that culminated in the setting of a Guinness World Record. Guild Wars 2's Tangled Path content has been released with new areas and items including skins, a variety of items, as with other features.
Call of Duty: Advance Warfare is always an console juggernaut, launched in November and based upon current trends , we may not have it on the list of December's Most Played.
Spider Solitaire was re-invented into Most Played for the first time since October 2013. It turns out that Thanksgiving isn't just about football, turkey and fighting with family members - it's also about Solitaire. The 27th of November was the most popular day for Solitaire gameplay.
Note: The Share number for each game represents the amount of time spent on that game by Raptr members. It is useful to compare the relative play time between different games.

Managed to solo FR3-D0M (Kessan’s Landing World Boss) 🤘
Did it on Arsenal merc, with a ranged healing companion (influence 50). Tips for anyone who would like to try it themself:
Maneuverability is key, so bringing something that has to stand still to cast is gonna get you killed - make sure you either already have instant or quick abilities, or that you will not take long to have abilities proc’d for instant-cast/have a tactical that that turns your class into a one-button killing-machine
The boss’s health isn’t really all that high when you compare it to yours, and all of the mechanics can be avoided, so it’s really just a matter of learning its telegraphs and positioning yourself to avoid damage
A ranged companion is probably less likely to take damage and get themself killed, provided that you don’t accidentally get them killed with an oopsie-whoopsie
The mechanics are as follows:
Flamethrower - the boss will put a big red triangle on the ground that the person being targeted has a few seconds to step out of before it turns into Fire (can be hard to make sure your companion isn’t clipped by the first one, but pretty easy to keep them behind or to the side of the boss the rest of the time).
Missiles - a few random people in the fight (pretty sure it scales with the number of people in the boss’s proximity) will be targeted by three missile blasts. These are each a pair of red concentric circles on the ground, and you have until the inner circle grows to the size of the outer circle to move out or be hit. Don’t run like crazy, just step out of them carefully so you don’t drop the next one on your companion, who will not move out of it.
Don’t remember what it’s called, but every now and then, the boss grapples over to the person who has threat and then puts a big red rectangle on the ground. You have a second or two to get out of that, and the easiest thing to do is to just step behind the boss (when he first gets to you, you can’t move).
Plasma Ring - the last mechanic is a large red circle that moves with you, and you have a couple seconds before it drops blue plasma on the ground, which you need to get out of. Make sure you don’t drop the plasma on your companion (and that you’re not moving out of your companion’s range when you try to walk the circle away from your companion to begin with, or they’ll jump over to you and end up in it anyway)
Once you’ve hit Plasma Ring, you’ll soon be in burn, and you can have all four mechanics going at the same time, so the quicker you kill the boss, the better. None of the attacks stay on the ground long, so it’s just a matter of being aware of where your companion is so you can keep them out of stupid and they can keep you alive.

almost solo’d the new world boss, but my companion stood in too much stupid and died around 50%, and I wasn’t using dcds well enough (I thought I was avoiding his attacks enough) so I died around 30%
but I got Princess and Suff to come join me and we wiped him out real quick and easy

HM DP highlights from tonight:
Forgetting what the little shimmery red around your character means during the Bestia fight until I had already dropped the monster pee pee puddle on Ray (who was entrenched), god it is just becoming such a habit for me to drop shit on Ray ;-;
Very nearly dropping a simplification on Ray during Tyrans (“it’s ok, november is just trying to kill me over here”), and telling him that if he needed to just drop an inferno on my dumb ass to make up for it, I would understand
a LOT of confusion about left vs right on Calphy. The tree is on back left, right? Right! Okay, planting seed! No, it’s on the right!
Synchronized feign death after clearing trash, with four of us lined up in a row, “you sunk my battleship!”
After deciding to stack the drouks but not where to stack them, “nobody puts droukbaby in the corner.”
Raptus murdering Suff while everyone else was doing their challenges, me getting Suff res’d and grabbing my crystal for the next one, Raptus murdering my co-healer and porting me to the bridge like a little bitch. Frenzy: november can probably beat the heal challenge by herself! (november, trying to book it from the bridge to the heal challenge, behind the throne: yep! sure can! when I get there….) Anyway, I failed the heal challenge, half the raid was dead when I got out, I had the portal on my feet when I got out, so I chased Ray with it until either Raptus killed him or he /stuck’d because he didn’t get ported with me
