I felt very sad today but treated myself to some yummy things like this vanilla cream cake thingie. It was very good and I ate it while I read Jane Eyre.

Concerto Bakery Caffe, 3500 W 6th St #117, Los Angeles (Koreatown), CA 90020
Concerto is a Korean bakery inside City Center. I was a bit overwhelmed by the sheer variety of items that they bake in-house. They had many types of cupcakes, macarons, sweet and savory buns (e.g, red bean, sausage, soboro), salt & butter rolls, croquettes, pre-made sandwiches, several types of castella cake, garlic cream cheese bread, mochi, loaves of bread, full size cakes, cake slices, cookies, doughnuts, manjoo, mont blanc, Napoleons, croissants, etc. Some items were wrapped in individual clear plastic bags. With others, you have to put the item in a clear plastic bag yourself.
Prices were clearly posted on each sign. The sign was in English and Korean.
Garlic salt & butter roll ($3.75): soft and chewy, very good, slightly crunchy on the bottom, sweet and buttery with a hint of salt. Definitely addictive.
Sweet potato cream bun ($3.75): A big bun with a thin shell, a ton of whipped cream, and lots of mashed sweet potato. The bun was soft. The cream and sweet potato paired surprisingly well. The outside was dusted with purple powder so that it looked like a sweet potato.
Coffee Cinnamon castella ($4): firmer and flatter than regular coffee cake, less sweet as well. However, the castella was still soft the next day and it was covered in cinnamon crumble. Liked it a lot.
The bakery is large with lots of seating and free wi-fi. They’ll also validate parking for two hours. They also seem to be very serious about their coffee, offering seven kinds of pour over coffee.
4.5 out of 5 stars

Smoking Tiger Coffee & Bread, 2445 E Imperial Hwy, Unit D, Brea, CA 92821, Score: 42/50
Smoking Tiger is a Korean coffee and bakery in a strip mall in Brea. They serve some Korean coffee roasters (but not exclusively Korean coffee). They’re known for their Jeju matcha drinks.
Score: 42/50
Food: 5/5 – Freshly baked offerings include cookies, scones, croissants, financiers, cream cheese garlic bread, etc. They have so many different kinds of croissants, including milk strawberry, halloumi, and double corn. Grab a tray and help yourself. They can heat up pastries.
Coffee: 4/5 – Beans sourced from Korea and SoCal. Cappuccino was nice but a little bitter.
Wi-fi: 5/5 – Free, unlimited, password posted at the coffee station
Ambiance: 5/5 – Small place, newly remodeled, white tile, purple accents, cozy bakery feel
Noise: 3/5 – Pretty quiet except some people can be very chatty. Loud pop music (not Kpop though)
Plugs: 3/5 – Some along the wall
Parking: 5/5 – Park as long as you want in the strip mall
Comfort: 3/5 – Wood bench style seating, padded chairs, small tables
Bathroom: 4/5 – One unisex, cute decor
Art: 5/5 – Contemporary Korean art
Tips: Coffee beans and coffee accessories for sale. They sell some of their own merch. They sell cold Korean drinks.

Hanyang Studio officially updates on Wuju Bakery’s Release Date
🛸 Wuju Bakery’s (WB) release date is being pushed back to the second half of the year
🛸 WB will consist of eight episodes with a running time of 50-minutes each
🛸 This is no longer a KBL web drama, but rather is now a regular drama
🛸 There’s no confirmed platform that WB will air on yet
🛸 The release of all promotional material is also pushed back as well
🛸 CGI is taking the longest amount of time, causing the release schedule to be pushed back.
On the bright side, Wuju Bakery will be the first KBL with a full-length drama run time. Prior to this, I believe The Eighth Sense had been the longest KBL with a 36-minute per episode average.
