How It Would Be Like To Be Married To Them
a/n: hey y’alls! I’m back. I know I have been gone for a few months days years, but I’m back and happy to continue with my one shots and scenarios! I will be writing the requests I have now so don’t be afraid to request a one shot! I’ll be more than happy to write for you <3 Enjoy this one!
Charlie Dalton: There isn’t a moment of silence with Charlie Dalton. He likes to play his vinyls as he is cleaning and loudly sing along to them. He also likes to help you cook although he isn’t very good at anything but chopping some of the vegetables.
Chris Noel: Chris and you are night owls and often sleep in on weekends and days off. You enjoy waking up to her beautiful morning face. You two like to sit together during dinner and talk about your day.
Gerard Pitts: Gerard and you have a lot of common interests and had an already similar way of loving. He enjoyed your company and you enjoyed his. You and him discus current events and how work was and what movie to watch and which ones sucked the most.
Knox Overstreet: After the wedding you and Knox went to a honeymoon to France where he attempted and failed at speaking French. You were no better at it so you couldn’t say much. He took you to Italy for a small tour and to watch the sunset.
Neil Perry: Neil and you didn’t think about getting married but after a play in New York City he asked you. He really did want to spend the rest of his life with you and you wanted to spend the rest of yours with him. Being married to him was exciting.
Richard Cameron: To be expected you and Cameron got married after graduation. It was a way of escaping his parents and yours. With the little bit he saved up throughout the years he took you to California and you two rented a small apartment. Being married to him was like magic, having your best friend by your side was just everything you could wish for.
Steven Meeks: You and Meeks weren’t fans of marriage. His parents insisted you two get married but you and Steven thought instead of a wedding you two will save up and travel to Europe. With lots of hard work and many months you two finally had enough to visit a few countries.
Todd Anderson: Todd proposed to you when you were 17 and didn’t get married until he was 18 (you’re older than him by a few months). Being married to him came with a lot ups and downs, all that you got through together as a couple. He wanted you by his side through everything and you wanted him by yours.

Carry Me Home
Hello all, I know I haven't written in quite a while but my mental health has been much better lately and I've been feeling a lot more motivated so have some Anderperry. I'm actually writing a longer fic with them and I'm hoping to have the first chapter of that out soon. In the meantime, enjoy!! Reblogs always appreciated Title: Carry Me Home Pairing: Anderperry (Neil Perry and Todd Anderson) Word Count: 1735 Rating: G Read it on AO3 here
Despite the music thrumming from behind the counter, Neil’s eyelids were drooping shut. It was late, nearly four in the morning, and the dumpy Irish pub was nearly empty save for a few townies sitting alone and—of course—Neil’s friends, drunk and chortling and hardly able to stand.
Neil, however, was stone cold sober. When Charlie proposed going out to celebrate the end of finals week, Neil didn’t hesitate to volunteer as designated driver. Normally he loved drinking with his friends, but after a grueling final that morning for his queer theatre and film class, he wasn’t in the mood for a wild night out.
Many hours later—sitting in the bar and watching his friends sign a terrible rendition of Britney Spears’ “Womanizer” they surely wouldn’t remember tomorrow morning—Neil decided it was time to go. He stood from his stool and approached the others.
“Alright, American Idol, let’s get out of here,” Neil said.
“Neil,” Charlie moaned, “A little longer, please.”
Neil sighed, “We’ve been here since eight, you’ll hate me if I let you stay and continue to embarrass yourselves.”
The others huffed as Neil herded them towards the door. Meeks and Pitts leaned against each other, snorting at their own half-coherent sentences. Charlie dragged his feet and complained and Knox followed closely behind, silent and still as a rock aside from the dopey smile plastered across his face. Cameron muttered to himself, as drunk as the others despite his earlier scolding about the dangers of too much alcohol. They made it to the sidewalk and Neil opened the car.
He ran through a mental checklist as they climbed in, making sure everyone that entered the bar came out—wait, where was Todd? He scanned the group’s faces once again and confirmed his earlier observation. Todd was missing. Once the other five were in their seats, Neil hurried back through the door.
He spotted Todd slumped against the far wall near the bathrooms. He was smiling peacefully, the anxiety that normally coiled in his muscles gone and replaced with a nearly unrecognizable ease. Something inside Neil softened at the site and he was tempted to just settle on the floor beside him, DD be damned.
“Todd, there you are,” Neil said.
“N-Neil,” Todd slurred. “C’you lift me?”
“What?”
“Lift me,” Todd repeated. His eyes suddenly became alert, a hopeful glittering blue that rendered Neil incapable of saying no.
Neil sighed and looped an arm over Todd’s shoulders. He groaned as he pulled them both upward.
“Better?” he asked.
Todd nodded, “Much better.”
They trudged across the bar. Todd nestled his head in the spot where Neil’s neck met his shoulder and took a deep breath.
“You smell good,” Todd said. “And this sweater, looks s’good.”
“I–” Neil paused and looked at Todd. His eyes were closed and he was leaning against Neil. One hand rested against Neil’s chest, just over his heart. Heat flood his cheeks. He swallowed his question and instead said, “Thank you, Todd.”
They made it to Neil’s car at the curb, Todd still snuggling against him. The others had gone quiet in the backseat and Neil helped Todd into the passenger side. As he pulled the seatbelt across his chest, Todd grabbed Neil’s hand.
“Where we going?” he said, his voice barely above a whisper.
Neil smiled, “Just home.”
This answer seemed to satisfy Todd. He released Neil’s hand and allowed his head to loll back against the seat, eyes closed and smiling.
Neil slid into the driver’s seat and started the car. As he steered through the empty, rain-slick streets, he occasionally stole glimpses of Todd, who gazed out the window at the buildings slipping by. Street lights would occasionally throw light onto his face, turning his eyes to a shock of blue and his hair a brilliant copper for just a moment before everything went dark again.
“Neil?” Todd said.
“Yes Todd?”
“You’re so good to me.”
They were at a redlight. Neil turned to look at Todd. His eyes were closed and his face was still save for the slight movement of his lips as he spoke. “Why wouldn’t I be good to you?” Neil asked.
“So many people aren’t,” Todd said, “But you always are, you always have been.”
A few beats of silence passed. Neil swallowed and said, “I appreciate you, Todd.”
They pulled up to the dorm a few minutes later. The car’s interior lights flickered on when Neil turned the key, waking the others.
“Home?” Charlie said.
“Home,” Neil confirmed.
They stepped out, Charlie and Knox first followed by Meeks and Pitts, then Cameron, and finally Neil, still supporting an unsteady Todd. It was a short journey up the stairs and down the hall to the cluster of rooms they called their own.
Todd was quiet as he and Neil stepped into their dorm. Neil leaned down to help Todd settle himself on his bed. He unwound his arm from his shoulder and began to straighten, but Todd grabbed his arm and pulled him onto the bed beside him.
“Stay,” Todd said. He leaned against Neil, burying his face into his sweater, “Please just stay with me.”
“This isn’t my bed, I don’t want to make you uncomfortable,” Neil said. His face felt like it was on fire now and his heart only seemed to be hitting every other beat.
“You could never make me uncomfortable,” Todd said. “Please just be here.”
Neil hesitated. Everything in him screamed to stay put—to lay down against Todd’s comforter and wrap his arms around Todd’s waist and breathe in Todd’s scent—but this couldn’t be right. Todd wasn’t sober and Neil was just his friend, he’d never want Neil that way.
“Todd, I just think—”
“Neil, don’t go,” Todd repeated. He lifted his face from Neil’s chest and met his eyes with a soft, beseeching gaze. “I really, really want you to be here with me.”
Neil’s head was swimming and he thanked God Todd was too drunk to notice the increase in his heart rate. “Okay,” he finally said.
Todd grinned and relaxed against Neil as they laid down. Their legs tangled and Todd was so close Neil could count the silver flecks floating in his doe-like blue eyes. The night’s excitement fell on him all at once, his eyes and limbs growing heavy.
“Good night, Todd,” Neil said.
“G’night,” Todd answered. “I love you.”
Sleep overtook them both.
Neil didn’t know where he was when he woke up the next morning. He panicked and bolted upright before spotting his empty bed on the opposite side of the room, the books and journals spilling across the floor from both he and Todd’s creative endevours, and—most surprisingly—Todd sleeping soundly beside him.
The night’s events came flooding back to him—the bad karaoke, the quiet drive home, stumbling up the stairs to bed, and Todd saying he loved him.
Todd said he loved him.
Panic and joy rioted inside him. He wanted to jup up and down and shout to the whole world that Todd loved him, but he also knew Todd had been drunk. What if he hadn’t meant it? What if it was a mistake or a joke? How was he supposed to talk about any of this?
Before Neil could answer any of his questions, Todd stirred and opened his eyes. “Neil,” he said, his voice hoarse with sleep. “What are you doing in my bed?”
Neil forced his roiling emotions to subside. It felt like trying to contain a hurricane. “Do you remember anything about what happened last night?”
Todd furrowed his brow, “I remember going out, then drinking a lot of cheap alcohol, then not being able to walk and—” Todd cut off his sentence and went white as a sheet, “Oh God.”
Neil could see the anxiety building in Todd’s frame, watch as his muscles tensed and his breath sped up. “Todd, it’s okay—”
“I’m so sorry,” Todd said, cradling his face in hands. “Oh my God, Neil, I’m so sorry.”
“Todd, you don’t have to be—”
“I fucked up so bad I’m so sorry, oh my God.”
“Please just listen to me, Todd, I—”
“Just forget it ever happened, okay? It’s all irrelevant and I fucked up so bad, I know—”
“TODD!”
Todd went silent.
Neil didn’t meant to shout, but he had to stop the tidal wave of fear that was threatening to drown both of them.
“Todd, I didn’t mean to yell, I—” Neil paused and met Todd’s eyes. They were round and terrified, like Neil was about to slap him. Neil’s chest ached. “Just tell me, did you mean it, or was it just drunk mumbling?”
Todd hesitated. Neil felt like they were standing on ice. The shore was just a few feet away, but one wrong move and they would be plunged into icy territory from which they could never recover.
“I meant it,” Todd finally said. “I’m sorry—”
“Please, Todd, don’t say sorry, you can’t say sorry,” Neil said.
Several beats of silence passed as Neil took a breath. He noticed Todd’s hands were balled into fists and trembling.
“I love you too,” Neil said.
Todd blinked, “You love me?” He released his hands and his body relaxed and stilled.
Neil let out a breath and smiled. “God, yes, I love you,” he said. “I love you so much I could barely say ‘I love you’ because I was so terrified I’d scare you away.”
Todd let out a sound somewhere between a laugh and a sob, “I can’t believe this.” He kept laughing and Neil laughed with him.
Neil lunged forward and tackled Todd to the bed, tears welling in his eyes from relief and happiness and love all at once. They kept laughing as Neil ran his hands over Todd’s face and Todd admired the warm sturdiness of Neil’s torso against him.
“Can I kiss you?” Todd asked.
“Yes, please kiss me, in fact,” Neil replied, laughing harder.
Todd crashed their lips together and it was even better than Neil imagined it would be. It was the comfort of a fire in winter and the excitement of a roller coaster and the novelty of a first spring rain, it was past and present colliding and a million things unsaid and conveyed only through the sweet press of their mouths.
They pulled apart and Neil leaned his forehead against Todd’s, “Remind me to take you out more often.”

Love, Neil.
Tumblr media
Neil Perry loved to write love letters to Todd Anderson.
Ever since they first met in Welton, how their relationship progressed throughout the years, even after Welton. Neil never stopped to write him letters, and he never stopped reading it all.
Even after they finally moved in together at their own home neighboring the other poets in New York, even after Neil finally got the chance to follow his dreams of becoming an actor, and Todd to write. They’d like to thank Mr. Keating for that.
And he honestly believes that it’s Neil Perry who’ll he’ll spend the rest of his life with.
After all, he’s the one that helped him grow into the person he is now. The person who was there whenever he needed. And he’s glad that Neil feels the same way, after all the things they have experienced in Welton, their relationship grew stronger.
And Todd wanted to propose to Neil, he really did. And to his surprise, the other poets were there to help him, especially Charlie who was goading that he and Cameron actually betted on who will propose and Charlie placed his bets on Todd.
“I just knew it would be you.” Charlie smiles, although his tone was teasing Todd can see the happiness in Charlie’s eyes, and he couldn’t help but smile back. “And if that day does come, I’ll be more than willing to help you in any way I can.”
“Knox, Pitts, Meeks, and I would like to help too.” Cameron just took 20 bucks from his wallet and gave it to Charlie who grins triumphantly.
“That’s great to hear actually!” Todd means it, cause there’s no way he’ll be able to do what he planned on his own. And he’s glad that his friends have his back on this. “Because I have a plan…”
-
A month after hours of planning and meet-ups. His proposal was ready, and he couldn’t help but be proud, and thankful for the other poets who helped him.
“Do you think this will work?”
“He’ll love it, Toddy, I’m sure of it.”
“I hope he does.”
“No need to hope Todd, He will.”
“Thanks, guys.”
--
It was Valentine's Day, and Neil thought they’ll celebrate it at home. But apparently, Todd has planned this year, and who is Neil to decline Todd’s request?
So, when Todd said he needed to go ahead and he’ll just meet Neil in the venue of their date, Neil didn’t suspect anything. Distracted at the thought that Todd planned something for their Valentine this year.
And as much as he loves planning their dates, he feels extra special on the days when it was Todd planning, maybe it’s because he just loves anything Todd.
He remembers Todd saying they’ll have to go on this new art exhibit just across the street, he remembers the location as he walks on the streets of New York.
He should’ve found it suspicious that there was no line for the said new exhibit, but he didn’t, thinking that they might’ve arrived early.
To Neil at that time, he thought this will be just another of a special valentine’s date with Todd. And he wouldn’t have it any other way.
But when Knox Overstreet opens the door, he immediately knew something was up. Clad in a three-piece suit, Knox smiles at him fondly.
“K-Knox? What are you doing here?” Neil couldn’t help but ask, and the answer he got was a knowing smile. “You’ll find out once you enter.”
And Neil, although suspicious at what Todd has planned for their day, couldn’t help but be curious especially now that he knows the other poets are around.
He can’t lie that he’s excited though.
-
The place was indeed an art exhibit. With different kinds of artworks on the walls. All of them were beautiful, none of them matches Todd’s beauty he thought as he continues to wander around the exhibit looking for the said beauty.
Then he sees Meeks and Pitts, wearing the same three-piece suits that Knox wore. Both were smiling at him too.
“You two a part of this two?” He teased, smiling as they walked to him not answering his question.
“This isn’t the exhibit you’re supposed to look at Neil,” Meeks said.
“What?”
“The one you’re supposed to see is over here.” Pitts points on the room behind them. And Neil after getting a nod of approval from the two stepped inside to the room.
At first glance he didn’t notice anything different in the room, just the same portraits hung on the wall.
Then he noticed it.
And he ran to the closest to him and saw it wasn’t artworks that were framed and hung in the wall.
It was his letters.
To Todd.
He looked at each frame and yeah, they were all of his letters that he wrote for Todd throughout their relationship.
He remembered giving it to Todd three years ago. How Todd teared up after reading each letter, how he hugged him and thanked him for showing this to him.
And he felt his heart swell, he should’ve expected that this year would be different.
Todd has always made things special.
With a bright grin, he reads the closest letter he wrote.
It was his very first letter.
---
“Dear Todd,
I honestly thought that I’d get a lame roommate, or someone who’s quiet but when I saw you in that hallway when we first exchanged names and words. I somehow felt that you’ll be different. That somehow, you’re special.
And I really think it’s funny because I just met you, and yet here I am proclaiming that you will change our lives here. To think that I’ll be telling the truth would be an understatement.
You were quiet, reserved, but whenever we talked you always get my attention.
When Knox, Charlie, and Meeks introduced yourself you looked so nervous I found it so cute.
But then father came and I hope that didn’t ruin my reputation to you.
But it didn’t you just smiled and told me that “We’re the same I guess.” And gave me a look that said you understood. Something that I’ve never gotten before. And Maybe that was the first time I ever felt some feelings for you.
Anyway, It was great to meet you, Todd.
Hopefully, we can get to know each other more soon!
From, Neil.
---
Neil smiles fondly as the memories replay themselves on his mind as he read the letter.
It was funny how destiny works, Todd was really shy back then, and he still is now, But more outspoken
And he felt proud of Todd, of how far he has come in expressing himself.
He found a note on the bottom of the letter which he didn’t remember writing, and from the handwriting, he knew it was Todd.
“You were the most stunning man I’ve ever met when we first held introductions, I couldn’t even look you in the eye and not think of how handsome you are.
I’m really glad you decided to befriend me and not ignore me, Neil, you don’t know much you’ve changed my life.”
Neil felt his heart swell with Todd’s words, enough to warm his heart for the rest of the month. And he means it.
After reading as if on cue, he could hear what seems to be a gentle melody created by a saxophone and a clarinet. Turning around he found Charlie and Cameron being the ones playing the said instruments, wearing the same as the other three. They looked at him and nodded, ushering him to continue on reading.
And he didn’t need to be told twice.
He went to the next one
---
Dear Todd,
I’ve got the part! I’m playing as Puck! I’m so happy!
And how everyone congratulated me and said how happy they are for me fills me up with endless happiness.
But none of them compare to when you smiled and congratulated me when I told you when I got to our room.
I’d like to apologize again when I shouted at you last time, I ... the way your face fell and withdraw you got me feeling like an asshole because you were just worried about my asshole of a father (heh maybe I got something from him).
But I still meant it when I said No.
I’ll protect you, I’ll take care of you.
Because you are worth it Todd.
No, I don’t know why you think you have to take care of yourself only, or why you are so scared of speaking for yourself. But all I need to know is that from that day on, I’ll protect you.
Hopefully, the play goes well! And hopefully, my dad doesn’t find out.
Take care as always Toddy! (Charlies gonna kill me if he founds out I’m stealing his nickname for you.)
From, Neil.
----
There was a note there as well.
“I told you I’ve already forgiven you, so no need to apologize Neil. The only thing I won’t apologize though is when you called me Walt Whitman when you yourself is Walt Whitman. :(
Still, I am really glad for you getting that part! Who knew you playing as puck would get you to where you are now? I’m so happy and proud of you Neil. You really deserved this.
And as I wrote this Charlie found out and he’s now out for you. So yeah.”
Neil couldn’t stop the laugh leaving his mouth as he recounts that day.
Oh. how he was so ecstatic that he got Puck for Midsummer Nights Dream. And how he was happy at the roles he got in the future.
He did notice that the letters were chronological. And there were skipped letters but Neil could understand, his letters were hundreds and even if Todd did say that he actually read them all, he understood why there were some skipped letters.
He noticed it were the major events in the relationship though, and while he was excited. There was a low humming of dread filling him up.
He knows that letter is here.
But before he inevitably reads it he went to the next one.
--
Dear Todd
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
I’m still upset that you didn’t tell any of us of your birthday, we could’ve celebrated it.
But I’m glad I found you that night.
I’m glad I was with you at the first unmanned flying desk set.
I now understand when you told me that we’re the same, and I’m going, to be honest.
I hate your parents for treating you like shit, for treating you like you’re just a shadow of your brother when you’re much more than that, and they don’t know because they’re not trying to understand.
This just reinforces my reasoning for taking care of you now.
And I’ll be honest with you Todd,
I’m in love with you.
I … I don’t know when it began. But when you did that impromptu poetry during Mr. Keating’s class, I couldn’t take my eyes off you, how you looked so ethereal when you spoke, how every word shocked me to the core.
It was then I realized that I do have feelings for you.
And that I’ve fallen hard.
I’ve told Charlie about it and told me that it’s about time cause we already seemed to act like a couple.
I honestly would love to date you, screw what the world would think of us.
I want to love you.
And hopefully, after the play, I can do that.
Love, Neil.
---
There was a note below.
“I didn’t tell you guys because I didn’t really want to celebrate my birthday, but I really appreciate the thing you did Neil.
Who would’ve thought we’ll be the first witness to the unmanned desk set?
And … at that moment I knew I’d fallen for you too.
Earlier than you but no matter, I’ve fallen for you. Who wouldn’t? You are such an amazing human being and anyone would be lucky to have you, Neil. I meant it,
I love you.”
Neil couldn’t stop the smile growing on his face, so the both of them have fallen at that time. He doesn’t know why but knowing that fills him with joy, that Todd fell for someone like him, and he’s happy he’s fallen for Todd.
Like Charlie said, they really were the perfect pair.
One look at the next letter and Neil’s smile fades.
“Todd said you can skip that one if you wanted.” Knox's voice broke the silence.
Neil only smiles at Knox and the others who looked at him with worry.
“No need, I can do this,” Neil said, and he means it.
He can do this.
He can read this.
Because it already happened.
And it has no control over him anymore.
---
Todd,
Fuck He found out.
He found out about the play Todd, he told me to stop this nonsense and I told him no.
I ran to Mr. Keating, and he told me that he’ll have his back but I need to tell my dad.
But I didn’t, and I lied to Mr. Keating.
And then the play.
Oh, the play.
I’ve never felt so alive than being on the stage like I was born for it. The way I heard all of you cheering me on has warmed me so. I really am happy to have you all.
But when I was backstage, I saw my father, and he didn’t look happy.
I … I didn’t know what to do at that time.
But what I knew is that the show must go on. Shitty fathers aside.
And I was good, I was really good.
Right?
I’ve never even got to ask any of you how I did because my father already fetched me to go home.
Mr. Keating almost gave me hope but Father squashed it even before it starts to bloom.
I feel hopeless Todd.
I never felt so alone than at that moment.
And god, when we arrived at home.
Father told me I’ll be transferring to a military school leaving Welton.
Leaving the Poets.
Leaving you.
And at that moment I didn’t know what to do.
I felt so hopeless.
What If I’m not in Welton, with the poets … with you?
It wasn’t a life worth living.
And so … I did it.
I’m so so so sorry for causing you all that pain.
I … thought that if I ended it right then I’ll be free from the pressure, from my dad, from my suffering.
But I missed it.
And I was in a coma for a month, the doctor told me when I woke up.
He said I was lucky for surviving. But at that moment It didn’t feel like it.
Then I found out about you guys visiting me every day.
About how you visited alone sometimes.
I’m so sorry Todd, I don’t know how much pain I have inflicted on you. Honestly, I don’t know until now.
Charlie gave me a scolding one time, at how he had to take care of you to make sure you don’t starve yourself to death.
I still can’t forgive myself for making you all suffer like that.
A lot of things happened.
So fast that I couldn’t catch up.
My parents … The Perrys lost their custody of me because I turned 18 when I was still in a coma.
Mr. Keating adopted me on the spot. And suddenly I’m Neil Keating now.
And honestly, at that time I’ve felt hope.
Mr. Keating would take care of me; he was already the parent I wanted. And now he’s my real parent.
And then the fact that I can finally go back to Welton.
I have tons of back subjects but still, I’m glad I’ll see you guys again in a setting that’s not white walls and ceilings.
I remember seeing you, and I couldn’t help myself but I kissed you.
And you kissed me back.
And I … felt warm again.
I felt like living again.
That’s because of you Todd.
And I am slowly healing, Mr. Keating got me a therapist.
I’ll be seeing him tomorrow as I write this.
I’m slowly seeing the light.
And you’re by my side.
I love you so much, Todd Anderson.
Love, Neil.
--
Neil felt his tears fall from his cheeks. As he checked the notes on this one. The longest one from the ones he read, he notes.
‘Neil, I’m so sorry that I wasn’t there for you. That I couldn’t do anything from stopping Mr. Perry from taking you for us, to make you feel like you have nothing to live for.
I hate him so much, and I’ll never forgive him.
I’m so sorry you had to experience this Neil, you don’t deserve it. You deserve to be happy, to be able to do what you love, and Mr. Perry didn’t want that. And it’s shitty.
It was Charlie who broke the news to me early in the morning, he was the one who consoled me when I broke down in our room. The others were there too. We knew the real reason why, and yet we couldn’t do anything about it.
Even when Mr. Perry filed against Mr. Keating.
But we fought for his innocence and for the first time, we did something.
Mr. Keating was found innocent!
We’ve never felt so proud of ourselves, and from the was Mr. Keating smiled at us, he knew too.
I’m glad that Mr. Keating adopted you, I know he’ll treat you the way you’ve always wanted to, the way you deserved to be treated.
Honestly, I was afraid that you won’t wake up.
But I held on to hope.
That if you survived the initial attempt, you’ll survive this.
I know you’ll come back to us Neil.
To me.
And when you did, I was ecstatic.
We weren’t allowed to visit you for the first week because they needed to make sure you’ll be fine. And which gave Charlie more time to practically parent me into taking care of myself. I hated that it worked.
And when we finally get to visit.
When you looked at me.
I felt hope, that things will get better.
That we’ll get better.
And when you kissed me.
Oh, you kissed me.
I’ve never felt so happy.
To find that you loved me back fills me with happiness Neil, so much more than you’ll ever know.
I love you so much, Neil Perry.
You’ve saved me too.
And I will always be thankful for that.
Love,
Todd.”
And he couldn’t stop the sob escaping his mouth as he allows himself to cry.
The others took a step to comfort him but Neil stopped them.
Today was supposed to be a happy day for him and Todd, and he won’t let something of the past ruin that.
So, after a few minutes, he calmed himself down. And continued to the next letter.
This is his last letter before he gave them to Todd.
Then why is there one more beside it? He thought before reading the said letter.
--
Dear Todd,
We’re finally graduating from College! I’m so proud and happy for all of us.
I’m glad that everyone managed to get their preferred courses and not what their parents wanted them to go. Mr. Kea- Dad really helped us a lot there huh?
I’m also glad that everyone agreed to move in close to each other in New York, Dad supported the idea, said that we are stronger together. And I believe him, we are stronger when we are together.
Also since we’ll be moving in together. This will be my last letter to you before I give all of them to you.
Why? Cause I don’t need to write letters anymore. I can tell my thoughts and feelings to you directly. And I’m glad I have that privilege.
But for now, it’ll be the end of the love letters.
It’s been great writing you a letter Todd.
But from now on I’ll be experiencing life with you by my side.
And I like that better.
I love you, Todd Anderson.
Love, Neil.
---
Surprisingly there were no notes here.
And Neil found himself smiling again, the memories pouring out of him, of how they all moved together, the adjustments, everything.
It was tiring, and sometimes bothersome but he was with his favorite people, which made things better.
But there was this question on what could be that last letter be?
Cause he didn’t write him anything else after that.
But after checking the handwriting of the last letter, he found out it was Todd’s handwriting, all of it.
As if on cue, Charlie and Cameron started a new piece, and it sounds so familiar until Neil realized it was ‘Can’t help falling in love’ He found his smile widening at the thought.
It seems so perfect for what he’s going to read, and honestly, he wouldn’t put it past Todd to have planned that.
He really knows Neil.
And with a deep breath, he reads the letter.
--
Dear Neil,
Happy Valentine’s Day!
I hope you liked the surprise! I had help from the other poets at planning this and I’m really thankful for them. And I wouldn’t’ve met them if it weren’t for you. So, Thank you, Neil.
I hope you liked the notes I’ve written in your love letters. I wanted to put all of your letters, but Cameron said to pick the important ones, to save time and for it to have a better effect, and although their logic is sound, I’m sure he only said that so he and Charlie wouldn’t have to play for hours.
I’d like to thank you for liking someone like me, the shy Todd who wasn’t able to speak for himself.
You really are amazing.
The way that others follow you because you are a leader.
The way you take care of me.
The way I love you.
And how I want to spend the rest of my life with you.
And I hope you’d want to spend that with me too.
So… Neil Perry…
---
“Will you marry me?”
Neil felt overwhelmed with joy, he was surprised at the voice behind him, someone so familiar.
It was Todd.
And what he said didn’t even register to Neil until he turns around and found Todd kneeling in front of him, with tears on his eyes as well, as he hold a small box in his arms, which have a ring right on the center.
The ring itself was filled with love, rather than it being gold, it was brown and it’s designed like the crown Puck wears in his Midsummer Night’s Dream Play.
It was everything he ever wanted.
And that’s when the tears fell again.
He felt so many things all at once, he knew the other poets were watching them as well, Charlie and Cameron stopped playing, as they await his answer.
He felt a lot of things, but what he knows is that he’s happy.
He’s happy with Todd.
And he wants to be happy with Todd, till the end of time.
“Yes.” It was soft at first. “Yes Todd, I want to marry you!”
And the way Todd’s smile widens as he stands up to put the ring on his finger, he felt so happy that once the ring was successfully in his ring finger, he grabs Todd on the back of his head and kissed him passionately.
He could hear the hollers and the congratulations from the other poets.
But he didn’t care.
All he cared about now was Todd’s lips on his, Todd’s arms on his waist, everything about Todd.
It’s like he’s falling in love with Todd again.
“I love you, Neil Keating.”
“I love you too, Todd Anderson.”
And he wouldn’t have it any other way.

Headcanons for the dead poets in Christmas :)
Charlie would be hyped af. He would be the kind of person that puts all the Christmas decorations in September and buy all kind of stupid stuff
Neil would buy tons of notebooks and special books for his soulmate Todd :,)
Todd would simply pass away out of love and then, when he wakes up, he would shyly give his present to Neil, which is a beautiful collection of famous plays.
Neil would propose right there
Meeks would receive the kind of stuff that a nerd likes
Pitts and Meeks would organize a Secret Santa, which would turn out kind of...chaotic but really fun.
I think Todd is the kind of guy who buys or makes little presents for everyone and hides then so no one knows he did it. But ofc all the poets realise
Charlie would get punished for dressing as Santa Claus and crawl down the fireplace
Knox would bake lots of cakes and cookies with Todd
Ofc they would all have a huge dinner/picnic in the cave with the girls
Finally in New Year's Eve all the couples (and especially Anderperry) would kiss and wish for a lovely New Year

dalí on tuesday
charlie dalton x reader | cursing, smoking, brief mentions of sexual things, charlie (probably) has daddy issues, cameron | she/her pronouns | fluff | wc.2562
i am in love with charlie, this is now a charlie dalton centric blog, also ignore how terrible the title is please
anon : Hi!! I love your blog! can I request a charlie Dalton x reader fluff where reader is an artist and he visits them while they're painting? (maybe they end up wiping paint on his face?) I don't know, something really sweet at cute <33333
Charlie Dalton had been resigned to relish in small pleasures to keep himself sane at school, never did he think the library would be one of those. More specifically, the painter tucked into the basement of the library.
                            ───☮︎───
Charlie Dalton was a connoisseur of many things. Pretty girls, expensive wine, shitty poetry, and hand rolled cigarettes - to name a few. His imprisonment at Wellington made only one of those things readily available. So he settled - boxes of cheap smokes bought through upperclassmen, bottles of grocery store wine someone would sneak in from a party, and the two girls that occasionally came with Knox. The shitty poetry was always on deck, he had that at least. It was a tragedy to be resigned to such a bland life, there was absolutely no carpe diem-ing happening in a school that held adolescent boys to uniforms.
It was miserable, truly, but Charlie scrapped by on the thought that soon enough there would be no more stuffy Catholic school and he could finally have a taste of freedom. In the meantime, he would have what little fun he could. The meets in the cave were always the highlight of the week. A place where he could talk and people would listen, and not because they had to but because they enjoyed it. They enjoyed his words and thoughts and presence. No one else had ever really seemed to enjoy Charlie’s presence. They could tolerate it, handle it, but they always had more pressing matters. A business meeting to attend, a bill to pay, a dinner to go to. Always something just a little bit more important and never quite enough time for Charlie. But the other Dead Poets, they valued him. He wasn’t just a kid, a college tuition to pay and a life to layout. He was a person, with interests and hobbies.
It had been there, in the safe haven of the cave, that the idea for the library first came up. Meeks had already talked Pitts into coming, Neil didn’t take much convincing at all, Todd was also easy to lure, Cameron groaned about leaving school grounds but refused to be left out, and Knox agreed to go but only if Nuwanda came too. Charlie had already started to cover what there was to do at a library, read?
Meeks dove into the technical manuals and Pitts followed tentatively, cradling their science project in his arms. Todd had followed Neil to the S authors, Cameron was trying to chat up the woman at the register, and God only knew what Knox was doing. He had been stranded with few options. He could find the geniuses and be talked over for the next hour or third wheel Neil but that guaranteed intruding on something he probably shouldn’t. The polite thing to do would be to rescue Cameron from making a complete fool of himself, throwing bad pick up lines at a clearly uninterested college student, but it was amusing to watch.
Charlie settled on trying to find Knox, at least then he could have some company. Said company was absolutely nowhere to be found. The rows of shelves wound in a confusing maze and Charlie was lost before he could even begin to look. Weaving around he did come face-to-face with a rather large picture of Charles Dickens that made him recoil. It was perched just at eye level above a short staircase and it seemed to judge his every movement. Charlie followed the carpeted stairs down to escape Mister Dickens’ strange little beard and beady black eyes.
The further down the steps Charlie descended the brighter it appeared. The lower level was the children’s section. Considerably more fun than science books or Shakespeare. The big oak counter was abandoned but the lights were still on. He was alone, still.
Charlie sighed, sitting down in one of the bright red wooden chairs. He was much too big for it but it held well under his weight. A sad stuffed bear stared dully into him from the green glossy table.
“Well hello,” He mumbled, picking it up under the arms, “And you must be?” He cleared his throat to take on a gruff baritone, “Mister... Bearington,” Charlie sighed, that was bad. He dropped the bear into his lap, “This is so stupid,”
      “Bearington?”
Charlie shot around in the chair, tipping himself off center and stumbling to his feet, bear still clutched in his arms, “Where the hell did you come from?”
“A few blocks over, walked here actually.” You turned back to your work. A painting. Not just a painting, Charlie realized, a mural. It stretched the length of the wall, roughly sketched in pencil and waiting to be finished.
He blinked, “That’s good. The wall I mean,”
“Thank you,” Your face flustered and Charlie took notice, “It’s not much of anything yet, just an outline. It’ll look better painted.”
He took a few steps closer, sidling up to you, “What’s it supposed to be?”
“A forest,” You pointed to a rotund blob perched on a long line, “That’s an owl, and there’s going to be a fox somewhere down in the grass,”
      Charlie grinned, “That’s an owl?”
“That-” you tapped the blob, “Is a shape, objectively. Subjectively, it’s an owl.”
His brow creased, “Subjectively it’s an owl? That's like saying Mister Bearington is a rabbit, subjectively,”
You stared at him, baffled. It was almost irritating that he could so casually come down to your domain and invade your creative bubble. And it was even worse that he talked to himself as a stuffed bear but now he was challenging your judgment on what was and was not subjectively an owl. But he had a wonderful smile and it lessened the intrusion. Plus, you had never seen a teenage boy develop an attachment to a stuffed bear as quickly as he had, “What’s your name?”
“Nuwanda,” He grinned, setting his chin atop his bear’s plush head.
“Nuwanda?” You blinked at him, “That’s… neat. I’ve never heard that before.”
“What can I say? The only Nuwanda this side of Vermont. What’s your name?”
As you opened your mouth to answer several sets of footsteps thundered down the stairs. Knox spun around the corner first, closely followed by Pitts and Meeks.
“Charlie!” Knox called, “We gotta go before Cameron proposes to the clerk.”
You looked at the boy in front of you, “Is Charlie short for Nuwanda, or just a nickname?”
He shrugged, “I’m Nuwanda, subjectively. It was truly a pleasure meeting you. Can’t wait to see your thing DaVinci!” He set the stuffed bear back on the table as he made his way out of the room. With Charlie’s energy gone it became much quieter and you were plunged back into the impressionistic outline of your artwork.
The next time a library trip was suggested Charlie didn’t completely dread it. Yes, it was still numbingly boring because it was a library and he didn’t have clerks to fall in love with, people to write love letters to, anyone to kiss in the aisles, or a spaceship to build, but he did have his own personal Van Gough to torment.
The lower level was the first place he went, not even hanging his coat on the rack inside the big double doors. He made his way past Cameron’s preoccupied receptionist and under Dickens’ hard glower. Halfway down the steps, the smell hit Charlie. Wet paint.
You had just picked out a brush when he pulled one of the wooden chairs next to your station. He sat in it backwards, holding Mister Bearington out in front of him, “Never got your name Monet,”
“Well, it's not that. Or Da Vinci.” You stroked the brush up the grassy outline.
“Do you want me to guess?”
You had yet to look at him, “Nope,”
      “Are you gonna tell me?”
      “Should I?”
“Obviously, I told you my name.”
You set the brush down and turned to face him, “(Name).”
      “Pretty,”
Charlie Dalton liked many things and the musty old library uptown had never been one of them. It had ancient red carpets and gaudy gold ceilings and it was trying too hard to look regal. So it was a sheer shock when he began to leap at the suggestion of going and even more so when he chose to go by himself one afternoon. Naturally, the other poets followed him, they had to.
Charlie didn’t dally upstairs, waving hi to the clerk and rushing down to the children’s section. A sign was posted outside the entrance warning of wet paint but he stepped around it.
“You’re making progress Picasso!” He set his hands on his hips and took in the wall.
You turned back to look at him, “Did you not see the caution: wet paint, do not enter sign?”
“Oh no I saw it,” He pushed his sunglasses up on top of his head, “It's bright orange, hard to miss, really,”
“So you just chose to ignore it?”
He nodded, making his way over to sit by you on the ground, “I choose to ignore lots of things, it really makes life easier,”
You shook your head, “Are you just going to sit here and bother me?”
“Yes, that's actually the whole reason I came today, believe it or not.”
You blubbered in vague disbelief, “Please tell me you’re not serious,”
“Dead serious,” Charlie grinned, leaning closer, “I had to see how your weird owl was going. And also make sure you hadn’t gone mad and cut your own ear off yet,”
“You’ve already used the Van Gogh joke, Charles,”
      “Maybe I want your ear,”
      You paused, “You… what?”
Charlie’s confidence cracked, “That was bad. Shit, that wasn’t supposed to sound that way. It was like, a bad pickup line? Because Van Gogh cut his ear off to send to his girlfriend,” He sighed, shaking his head, “Sorry,”
“I mean if I had to pick someone to give my ear too I guess you would be my first choice?”
Charlie looked at you, eyebrows pinched together, “Why?”
You shrugged, “No one else has asked, first come first serve.” You dipped your brush back into the blue paint and went to work on a patch of flowers.
“Huh, well I do appreciate it,” Charlie scooted closer, leaning over your shoulder. He was close, very close. When you took a breath you could smell his cologne and whatever it was he used in his hair and you could feel the edge of his sunglasses brush your ear. He brought an arm around to dip his finger into the soft sky colour on your palette. And then he wiped it on your nose.
You gasped sharply at the foreign feeling, snapping your head to the side to glare at him, “Why?!”
Charlie snickered, leaning back, “The opportunity presented itself, how could I just let that pass?”
You reached back, squirting a touch of purple paint over the palm of your hand, “That was truly a horrible idea,”
Charlie shot up just as you did, stumbling backwards, “I’m sorry-” He stuck his hands up in surrender, “I regret my actions and if I could take them back I would,”
“Hmm, but you can’t” You took a step closer, “Surrender now and it doesn’t have to get any messier than this,”
He pointed towards your paint coated hand, “Do not,”
      You grinned, “I might,”
      “I’m begging,”
“Fine-” You offered him your other hand, “Truce?”
Charlie mulled it over for a moment, “Fine, truce,” He grabbed your clean hand and you used it to pull him towards you.
“Why on earth would you trust me?” You tugged him even closer as he shrieked and smeared your hand down his cheek, “There, now we’re even,”
Getting distracted by your triumph gave Charlie the upper hand. He pulled you to him the same you had done to him and pressed his cheek flush to yours. The paint was cold against your skin and you jolted back, away from him.
“Vile,” You hissed, “You are vile and evil. That's so cold. You will pay, I hope you know that.”
Charlie snorted, “Oh please, what’re you gonna do?”
“You underestimate me, you ass, I’ll figure something out,”
“Will you?” Charlie grinned, “I will be waiting in anticipation,”
      “You better be,”
Meeks elbowed back into Cameron’s ribs, “You’re going to knock me over,”
Cameron craned his neck further to peek around the corner into the children’s section, “I just want to see, let me look,”
“Nothing is happening-” Meeks snipped, “They’re just talking now and I might be able to hear if you could can it!”
Cameron rolled his eyes, “Of course, whatever you say,”
“Will you shut up?” Knox batted at Cameron’s shoulder, “They’ll see us, we’re not super well hidden,”
“If you don’t stop talking they’ll realize we’re here,” Pitts mumbled, rolling his eyes. Cameron started to rebuttal, turning to look at Gerard but the motion knocked Meeks out of place and he gasped, stumbling forwards. This did indeed draw Charlie’s attention.
“Meeks, what the hell?” Charlie snapped. He was in a state, sunglasses askew in his hair, paint smeared from his cheekbone down to the corner of his mouth, and his shirt was wrinkled away from his collarbone.
Meeks stared, “Hi Charlie. Are there any textbooks down here, uh… the science ones?”
Knox groaned, stepping out from behind the wall as well, “We wanted to see why you came here on a Tuesday afternoon by yourself,”
Charlie blubbered, “Did you all come? Is Keating there too?”
      “He could be,” Meeks shrugged.
Charlie rolled his eyes, “Will you leave, I’ll be upstairs in a second,” The other poets nodded, scampering up the steps to the first level.
“Assholes, should have known they’d come,” Charlie sighed, adjusting the sunglasses atop his head, “I need to go before they decide to intrude again. I’ll see you soon though, anxiously anticipating payback,”
He was almost out the door when you bucked up the courage to call out to him, “Charlie, wait.” You let him turn back to you before continuing, “Could I have your phone number?”
He clicked his teeth, “Don’t have one, private school. But I’ll find the library number in the books and try to shoot you a call sometime,” He winked and started back up to his friends.
Knox was waiting at the landing with a handful of tissues, which he shoved into Charlie’s hands, “So you’re gonna read your stupid poem about tits at a Dead Poets meet and then not tell us you’ve got a girlfriend?”
Charlie grabbed the tissues, “Not my girlfriend, I meet her like two weeks ago,”
“Didn’t stop Knox,” Neil elbowed him.
Charlie wiped at his face, “Well I’m not Knox. I like her painting, she's good.”
“It looks like she was painting you,” Cameron slapped at Charlie’s chest and he threw the tissues at him in retaliation.
“Shut up, at least my library worker actually talks to me,”
Cameron fumbled with the dirty material, batting it away from his chest, “You dick!”
Charlie grinned, pulling his glasses down and starting towards the door. Something about it was thrilling, having this to himself. A little secret that he and you shared. His personal Salvador Dalí, something to look forwards to besides bad tobacco and Keating’s eccentric lectures. It was bright and exciting and he felt seen. He felt important. The blue paint he had stolen from your tray was still on the tip of his pointer finger and he wondered how long it would be until he could see you again.

What's your headcanon for Todd and Neil's wedding ( if they had one, idk I feel like Neil would really want one?)
omg omg omg of course they'd have one <3 I kinda have two HC for their wedding since I'm thinking of both their time period vs Modern day au or something similar <3
So of course back then, 1960s or whatever, they didn't allow same-sex marriages BUT like?? that didn't stop them <3
In both my Headcanons, Todd is the one who proposes because that's HIS arc, he has to learn how to be courageous and propose to Neil. Neil knows he wants to marry Todd, but he doesn't want to rush Todd into that kind of commitment so he always waited for todd to make the first move.
In the older au, they'd have a secret wedding, in which only their friends (+Jeff and keating) are invited. It'd be in the cave or similar because they can't get married in court obviously, and since their marriage was free from bureaucracy or things, they did whatever they wanted with the wedding. They did poetry for vows, Charlie played the sax as Neil and Todd both went down the aisle <3 They couldn't wear rings in public but they got matching Watches (courtesy of charlie) and it's synchronized, so whenever they check their time, they're reminded of each other (to go home for supper and such)
IN MODERN AU, NOW, i imagine them being slightly older, because there was so rush and such, but I want it to match the day/time same-sex marriages became legal in the whole country and they were both having the revelation of "oh fuck, this is it, we CAN get married now" (very similar to cam and mitchel from modern family) so they both scramble to be the first ones to ask; but again, Todd beats Neil to the punch and surprises him. Charlie wanted to plan a flash mob but Neil said that would be too much; They get married in the woods/ the theme was woodland/cottagecore type, basically midsummer's night, and they still only invited people who matter. Meeks and Pitts are flower men, obviously, Charlie was kind enough to officiate because he got that online course for THIS exact reason, they still do their poems as vows, Knox BAWLS at their wedding, josh^2 is there too, chris and ginny, fresh from their wedding were bawling too, Jeff walks todd down the aisle, mr. keating walks neil down the aisle. since neil and todd shared groomsmen, they had to be evenly split on each side for the photos
possible examples of their wedding photos
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
and when neil and todd throw a wreath (the puck one) instead of a bouquet, Charlie catches it (deck tennis style) and proposes to cam on the spot <3
Either way, I choose to believe Neil and todd happily got married without the presence of their parents because they dont need that kind of negativity
Also, the ring bearer is their pet corgi <3 they have a dog and I stand by that so much <3
Thanks for the ask, anon <3~!

Anderperry wedding/ married headcannons
They get married as soon as they can, it’s a small wedding with just the poets, Chris & Ginny, maybe Chet and Mr. Keating
Neil called Charlie the night before he proposed to Todd to ask for advice and Charlie said however he did it was going to be perfect
Charlie was Neil’s best man
Knox was Todd’s best man
They had their own wedding vows with tons of poetry in it
Cameron became a control freak on how everything should be because he wanted the day to be perfect
Meeks and Pitts were in charge of getting food for the group
Chris and Ginny were the flower girls
Mr. Keating officiated the wedding
Neither of their families knew about it until years later when Jeffery came to visit and noticed the wedding rings and asked about it
Pitts took pictures the whole time and then he and Meeks made a scrap book
Every year on their anniversary the poets all get together and make a big deal about it
Neil always gets Todd flowers and new journal for poetry for their anniversary
Todd always gets Neil playwrites and desserts
The wedding reception was a small get together and it was so fun and cute
Charlie ended up drinking too much so Cameron took care of him and kept an eye on him and thats a drunken Charlie ended up confessing his feelings to a very bright red Cameron
Neil and Todd loved it
Meeks and Pitts were shocked
They danced to all the love songs
Neil and Todd spent most of their time dancing with each other
Mr. Keating had given a big speech about how love is so special and that he’s proud of the two poets
Each of the poets shared different stories about Neil and Todd, like when they knew the two liked each other or when one of them came to the other poets for help
And then Neil and Todd lived happily ever after :)

CHAMERON FIC CHAMERON FIC CHAMERON FIC
Uhhhhh I feel like I should give this a title but I have no idea what to call so uh, nevermind !!
Anyways,I finally finished the fic I said I was writing like,a month ago lol. All my Chameron stans out there this one's for u,I rlly hope at least one person enjoys this,I rlly enjoyed writing it !! Ok sappy stuff outta the way, here it is:
As rain pounded against the window Charlie sent what was probably the thousandth crumpled ball of paper across the room.
"Jesus Charlie,is your arm not getting tired?"
Charlie smirked at that, clearly preparing to make a dirty minded joke, but a thoroughly exhausted Richard Cameron was already one step ahead.
"You know what,forget I asked, you're gross."
Getting up from the seat at his desk and ignoring an indignant retort from Charlie, Cameron thought of the rest of his friends, out for the weekend. Todd and Neil celebrating their one year anniversary, Meeks and Pitts embarking on a two day road trip, for what they still claimed to be, entirely platonic reasons (although the rest of the poets were all too aware of the almost palpable romantic tension between them). Even Knox had found something to do with himself on this miserable Friday night.
And here Cameron was, stuck in his dorm with nothing but stacks of extra homework and his obnoxious roommate to keep him company.
Speaking of that obnoxious roommate, "Oh come on Cam,you're not seriously going to bed already,it's barely eight!"
"Shut up Dalton,I'm tired."
Refusing to admit defeat, Charlie sprung from his own bed into Cameron's, attempting to wrestle the poor boy from his comfortable position.
"Charlie, get off you psycho!" Cameron managed to get out, already laughter threatening to give away just how welcome his friend's childish antics were.
After a few more minutes of "fooling around" as Charlie insisted on calling it (mostly because of how profusely it made Cameron blush),the two boys lay breathless beside each other, trying desperately to think of something else to do that would ward off impending boredom.
After a few moments of comfortable silence,Charlie suggested, looking expectantly towards the ginger, "Wanna go to the cave?"
With extreme, mind numbing boredom as motivation, it was inevitable that Cameron would say yes. It certainly helped that Charlie was gazing at him with those oh-so convincing doe eyes of his. Charlie Dalton and his stupid, gorgeous eyes. And his stupid, gorgeous smile, which Cameron was abso definitely not thinking about as he got up and grabbed his coat.
The two boys trudged through the woods, bickering lightly when Cameron complained of the cold that Charlie apparently couldnt feel at all,but always with an unusually friendly air between them. Before long they were sat together in the middle of the cave, sharing an apple that Cameron had managed to salvage from somewhere (a feat Dalton was of course impressed by),and trading stories of girls and parties galore. In Cameron's case, the stories of girls were few and the parties were from years long before even middle school,so Charlie did most of the talking.
After a while though, the boys came to discussing their friends, and the luck they all seemed to have in finding each other so easily. Charlie, ever the romantic, made no waste of his extensive vocabulary, tediously lamenting on all the opportunities of love he had missed and the everlasting loneliness he was doomed to,all because his dashing knight in shining armour would never come to find him and-
"Why dont *you* just find somebody?"
Charlie, still sprawled dramatically over a rock ,and mildly offended at the interruption, indignantly questioned "What do you mean?"
"What I said? You dont just have to wait around for somebody to come find you and fall madly in love. Why don't *you* just find somebody?"
He thought for a moment, taken aback by the ginger's harsh words, but eventually decided to humout him for a moment.
"And where exactly do you suggest I find him then, hm?"
Cameron shifted in his seat, not expecting to be taken seriously and certainly not prepared to be giving advice. Especially not *this* kind of advice. Especially not to *charlie*.
"Well,uh," he looked up to see the other boy looking at him expectantly, with that ever-present smirk on his face that, oddly enough, made Cameron feel a little more comfortable.
"Maybe, you could,I don't know, consider that the guy you're looking for has been here the whole time?"
"Wow Cam,Pittsie and Meeks' radio must've really gotten to you. All those love songs have turned you into a big softie." Charlie joked, grinning and nudging Cameron playfully.
Through a soft laugh,Cameron continued, "No I'm serious man,I think you're making this whole love thing way harder for yourself. I mean- and be honest with me, what's actually wrong with the guys at our school?"
"Other than the fact that about three quarters of them are raging heterosexuals?"
Laughing again,Cameron replied "yeah, other than that."
After about zero seconds of careful consideration,he had come to a conclusion, "Well,I guess nothing, but I dont know? Cameron, I don't see how this changes-"
"It *changes* things because clearly you don't anything about half the guys at our school. And you can't write off people you don't even know." At some point, Cameron had gotten up and started pacing around, but with the end of this triumphant speech,he finally sat down,a little closer to the other boy than he had been before.
Charlie looked across at Cameron and was suddenly met with a wave of fondness. Weird, how all it took was to sit and talk for a while before someone you thought you near hated, started to feel like your favorite person in the world. And,was he going completely crazy or Cameron at his most comfortable, without the fear of a teacher lurking nearby, without the stress of constantly trying to prove himself, was he... A little..... attractive??
All at once,Charlie made a decision, partly to try and prove himself wrong, but also because hey,if Richard Cameron was the surprise love of his life, what better time to figure it out than right now?
"So how,sir Richard Cameron,do you propose I get to know all these charming suitors?"
Cameron, completely in the dark about Dalton's recent epiphany, was still stubbornly trying to explain how much easier Charlie's love life could be,if only he would let it.
"Well, maybe by actually talking to them? Y'know, kind of like,What we're doing right now."
"So,what you're saying is,*you* could be my knight in shining armor," he said with a smirk.
"Well,that's not what-"
"No,no it's fine,as long as we're talking about this version of you. Regular Cameron is kind of a buzzkill but Cave Cam is actually a kind of.... And I can't believe I'm saying this but,in here, like this...well. You're actually a little hot."
After this, overwhelmingly romantic confession, Charlie was certain he had completely stuffed it,and sure enough,
"Gee Charlie, thanks. Really makes me wanna ride into the sunset with you." To say Cam's ego had been hit was an understatement, but before he could make a swift exit from the cave and lock himself, alone,in his dorm for the rest of the weekend,of course Dalton kept talking.
"God,I'm sorry, that was, I have no idea why I said that. I thought I was being funny but out loud- god I'm so sorry," while he had initially been mad, seeing Charlie fucking Dalton blush (and because of *him* no less) was rather funny. And sure,a little cute. So Cameron decided to hear him out.
"Can I start over? You're not saying anything so I'm gonna start over. I,uh, I really do think you're hot. Like really hot. And not just right now,all the time, like that time we were at rowing practice and I started pushing you around and we ended up on the floor and I saw like,a single sliver of skin because your sweater had ridden up,and I couldn't stop thinking about it all day, which I thought was a little weird but then-"
"Uh,I think I get it,Charlie." Now Cameron was the one blushing.
"Uh,sorry. What I meant was,that I *do* think you're hot l-"
"As you've said"
"Yeah, yeah, but it's more than that. Like, when I realized we'd basically be spending the whole weekend alone together,I was actually sorta excited for that, even though I knew I'd just be sitting by you while you did homework the whole time,I like, wanted to do that. And tonight,I haven't talked like this with anyone who isn't Neil like, ever. What I mean is,I guess,is that,I think that uh,"
Deciding to lighten the mood,Cameron tried for a little sarcasm, "Wow,Dalton, stuttering? I must be superman or something."
"I'm trying to be romantic here Carrot top," Charlie said with a grin,
"Listen,I don't really know what I'm doing here, but I think it might be kinda nice if we tried having a little romantic weekend of our own. Just to try it. If it totally sucks we can pretend it never happened and the others don't have to know about it and-"
"Charlie."
"Yeah?"
"Relax," Cameron said with yet another laugh ,he didn't think he laughed like this since... Well,he couldn't even remember.
So with a radiant smile on his face,he said,"A romantic weekend of our own sounds amazing. Gotta warn you tho I'm not a great kisser."
"Well, lucky for you I am a great teacher," Charlie replied, with a somehow even bigger smile on his face than Cameron's,
"Why are you laughing,I *am* a great teacher!" Unfortunately for Charlie, his indignance only made Cameron laugh harder.
"I'll believe that when I see it."
"If you shut up and stop laughing, maybe you'll get to." After this was all it took to get the ginger to sober up, the look on his face pushed Charlie to make his final, but (in his opinion) most important decision of the night. It was high time he flirt with Cameron way more often (which was *very* difficult to explain to the other poets,at least the first time).

dead poets society oneshot 1# 2/2
todd and neils baby
yes a lot of this is just the poets with a baby
look at her she’s every thing him and todd had ever wanted. only minutes later the poets barged in loudly, disrupting the moment. charlie stared him down at the front of the gift entourage. neil lifted a hand off the baby girl and put a finger to his lips, shushing them. they all set their flowers and balloons down shuffling around to different places in the room. “so how is she” charlie said hesitantly. “ perfect, ten fingers ten toes” neil responded smile beaming. “name?” pitts asked. “uh we don’t know we haven’t talked about it” “I vouch for charlie middle name dalton” charlie said being cocky. “ hmm maybe if you were more godlike and more myths behind you” neil said back still smiling. “ do one of you want to hold her, i’m exhausted” he asked, smile faulting a little. “ yea uh i’ll take her, you should sleep or something” charlie walked over to neil and gentely wrapping his hands around the new born. charlie placed her on his heart, and sighed. he never really liked kids but babies he declared that they were different. he started walking around the room and told neil to sit. “ so where is todd?” charlie questioned neil. “ oh uh I sent him for coffee but that was like an hour ago” neil responded lazily flicking his watch to check the time. “huh” charlie said slightly bouncing. charlie knew that out of all of the poets neil and todd would be atleast the first. they have been talking about it for years. It was never serious, always hypothetical. “hey do you wanna hold her pitts, i promise it will make you ten times more attractive” charlie proposed. “ uh huh sure” pitts stood up from his chair. “ as if he needs it “ meeks said slapping pitts back jokingly. pitts did the same as the others, picked her up, admired, and laid her on his chest. his knees swayed as he looked down at her, grinning. pitts was such a natural with babies, the poets didn’t know what it was, maybe the sisters, or the fact that every thing on the earth loved him. swaying he held infrount of him making obscene faces. meeks leaned on his shoulder as he sticked his tongue out waiting for the little one to giggle. “ you know they can’t yet” neil said. “ i don’t believe you” pitts responded making another face. then she actually giggled. the first noise besides crying. pitts has never smiled so big. “I stand corrected” neil said shocked. he walked over to her and gently rubbed her back. “when is knox coming” neil said lifting his head to look at charlie. “he can’t come backed up in albany” charlie responded. “damn-“ neil was interrupted by todd barging into the doors. arms full of coffee todd announced “coffee!” he sat the cups down before turning around. “oh hi guys, im sorry i know all of you were coming i would have brought more” neil stepped out of the way of pitts. “wow” todd sat in awe. “ would you like to meet your daughter” neil said picking her up from pitts arm. “yea” todd mouthed the words. neil placed the baby girl into todd’s arms. “ wow” todd said again, just as neil this is all he had ever wanted. he looked back up at neil his eye practically dilating. “ yea, wow” neil looked back at him. “ hello robin good fellow” todd said to the girl sleeping. neil looked down at their daughter, their family. “ hello robin good fellow”
i can’t decide if i hate this or not but i think it’s sweet.

ahhh congrats on 900 lovely!! may i get a 🎞 for dps or hp pls? i have ~wavy~ shoulder length dark brown hair and i do that annoying little thing where you put on blush to make it look like a sunburn, that mainly covers my freckles. cher horowitz & jackie burkhart are the blueprint when i dress and sometimes my friends make fun of me and call me the pink character :/ i’m passionate about musical theatre, and go to a performing arts school for such and such reason. i also really enjoy baking, doodling, archery. my personality could be described as very warm mom friend who holds ur hand when we cross the street, and worries about you after school type beat. lily evans kinnie :( i’m very loyal, and opinionated and i can be stubborn at times ( all the time babe :( ) thank you so much, and congrats again on a very well deserved 900!!! 💕
ahh thanks so so much lovely !!! of course,, i'll do both bcos i'm a fiend and love writing these things - i hope u like them !!! thanks sm for sending something in <333 i apologise about how long this is - i started writing the dps one completely forgetting i was also doing the hp one,, i have no impulse control
if you were in dead poets society..
i think the first poet you'd meet would be neil! as you're extremely passionate for musical theatre and have a talent for the performing arts, it's not surprising when you end up in a production with him. thanks to your warm personality and neil's extroverted nature and desire to make friends, it doesn't take long for you both to become friendly. he really appreciates your support and help, due to his problems with his dad and such, and thinks you give the most perfect advice. by opening night, you guys are great friends, and he's told you all about the poets who are coming along to watch him and how they'll love you. and he was definitely right, because when mr todd anderson spots you on stage, the lights hitting you just right to where you look like you're glowing, acting like it's second nature to you, his mind goes into overdrive.
after the show, he nervously asks neil about you, trying to act casual, but neil can read him like a book and instantly realises that he has a crush. he invites you over to meet his friends, paying a little extra attention to todd when he introduces the two of you. because he's a devil, he proposes that the poets and you and your friends who've come to support you all go out together - there's a local diner not too far from here that you could all head to at the weekend. everyone thinks this is a great idea, and todd is ready to kill neil. so when the weekend rolls around and you show up, he thinks you're the prettiest person he's seen, the blush on your nose adding to your overall angelic look.
it goes without saying that charlie LOVES your outfits so much - he thinks you have incredible style, and will compliment at least one of your clothing items each and every time he sees you. he will be your main hype man okay. he also definitely wants to do archery with you, because he thinks it's so so badass and he won't turn down an opportunity to add to his self proclaimed coolness.
i also think you'd get on so well with pitts - mom friends stick together, and pitts is definitely a mom friend. you're both the impulse control from the poets, having to convince charlie or knox that their 'genius' ideas are not that genius at all. the fact that you're super loyal is something all of the poets admire - they know they've found a good friend in you, and can always rely on you if they need to.
and when they find out you can bake? oh god, it's chaos. with this new found knowledge, they now desperately want to bake with you and you and pitts have to try and wrangle these overly excited boys so you can make something actually edible.
if you were in harry potter...
again, thanks to your warm nature, people are just drawn to you, so i think you'd get on well with practically everyone at hogwarts. you'd definitely be approached by a lot of the younger students who are nervous or lost, as you look approachable and kind, not intimidating like other students who tower over them and push them in the corridors.
i think you'd be closest to ginny, neville and luna. luna thinks your hair is super pretty, and is constantly placing flowers in it, sometimes even braiding them into the strands if she has time. you and ginny are both stubborn, loyal and opinionated, so you get on extremely well on that front, both enjoying sticking by your friends and standing up for yourself and what you think is right. neville loves seeing your doodles, please slide some towards him during class, it makes them more bearable for him. i can also see you being good friends with angelina johnson!
due to your friendship with angelina, it isn't long before a certain red-head starts catching feelings for you. it's george, i'm talking about george. listen, he just thinks you're super sweet, and he adores your fashion and freckles. plus, with your mom friend attitude and general care for people, how could he not begin falling for you?
BUT if we're talking the marauders era, it's only fitting you're best friends with lily, marlene, dorcas and mary. oh my god, you'd be the most iconic friendship group that everyone else would be jealous of. i'm talking late night karaoke sessions, a silencing charm cast on your dorm to avoid waking up your fellow classmates. there'd be so many hogsmeade outings, wandering around all of the different shops and just enjoying being in each other's company.
i definitely think remus would have the biggest crush on you. he isn't really sure when it started. he just remembers waking up one day with the knowledge that he likes you, and that was that. he'd be a bit apprehensive to make a move, not knowing if you reciprocate his feelings. but if you show any indication? he's jumping at the chance to ask you out
i hope these were okay babe!! like i said, im so sorry about how long they got, i've had a lot of coffee and i'm a menace when it comes to these things- but i truly hope you like them !!! thanks for sending something in, i adore your blog and the fact we're mutuals is mind-blowing <33

review: the dps book
below the cut because i got a little bit carried away <3
my grievances with the dps book:
todd is mostly depicted as angry and temperamental, instead of anxious/timid
no swearing
no smoking
keating doesn’t whistle
meeks and pitts never dance on the rooftop when they finish their radio
keating says “poetry, romance, love, beauty” (instead of “poetry, beauty, romance, love”) which just does not hit the same way
keating never says “but only in their dreams can men truly be free. twas always thus, and always thus will be.”
keating doesn’t do the “wrong, mr. dalton! thank you for playing anyway” bit with the bell on his desk
todd never jumps off of keating’s desk
no being chased by walt whitman
“are you a man or a boil” (it’s amoeba, you idiot)
no mention of that face neil makes after todd describes ww and the blanket (this is more of a personal dispute i have lol)
no flying desk set scene
charlie never exercises the right not to walk
they don’t carry keating across the soccer field (despite the fact that this is the cover photo??). actually, they don’t play soccer at all...
gloria and tina (an unfortunate name choice) are like,, 20, while charlie and the poets are supposedly 16
knox’s behaviour is even more creepy/extreme in the book than in the film
no, seriously. he basically assaults chris?!
keating teaches his class about managing distractions by making them take a test whilst he projects a slideshow of scantily-clad women (seriously, what the fuck??)
after neil and todd run lines, neil says, and i quote, “thanks buddy” (how out of character does that sound?), before literally just leaving
this author! loves! exclamation! marks!!!!! and uses them!! for! EVERYTHING!!!!!!!
meeks is literally forgotten in half of the scenes with the poets. not even mentioned :(
neil’s funeral. fuck that shit.
what i liked:
s-t-e-v-e-n  meeks :’)
knox pretends to propose to pitts
backstory as to why it’s called the dead poets society (you’re only a pledge whilst you’re alive; you become a true member in death)
we get more neil-as-puck content
we get a bit of backstory as to how shit todd’s parents really are:
Tumblr media
keating teaches the class how to bullshit an essay
todd runs lines with neil outside in the snow, like in the deleted scene!!!!
the deleted left-handed eating scene
all of the poets accompany neil to go find keating so that neil can ask for advice about dealing with his dad
we find out that keating’s sweetheart is named jessica (john and jessica 🥺)
todd mouths neil’s lines at the play!!!!
after the play, todd literally sprints after neil, calling his name. he also, however briefly, gets to tell neil that he was good (this is when i started crying)
the poets go to the cave after the play, and todd vows to fight mr. perry
keating joins them all at the cave and hosts a meeting?!
TODD READS HIS POEM AT THE MEETING
keating tells todd how proud he is of him, and hugs him (in case you’re keeping track, this is the only hug in the entirety of dps, book or film)
todd stands up to his parents in mr. nolan’s office
todd doesn’t sign
in conclusion:
was this book based off of the original script? i think it might have been, in accordance with the appearance of deleted scenes such as the running lines in the snow, and left-handed eating. so, i think i’m going to read the original script asap, because i still have yet to do that! and then i’m emailing peter weir and asking how he could allow this book to happen.
★★★☆☆
three stars for plot, none for execution, because this author would never have sold a book without the following gained by the film.

Dead Poets Society Valentines Day 2022 Edition
Yeah I didn't manage to do all ships sadly but I was able to make this many in just three days. AHSDJASHDJ I am fine, don't worry.
*sips the 5th coffee of the day*
FICS:
Rainbow Connection - Knodd
A Valentines Date gone wrong, Knox hopes this one last-ditch effort would save his date with Todd.
I'm a mess, but I'm the mess that you wanted - Knarlie
Five times Charlie Dalton noticed Knox Overstreet, and One time Knox noticed Charlie
Hot Pockets and The Night In The Museum - Cheeks
Meeks definitely thought that whatever Charlie was planning for their date tonight would be chaotic, only to find it surprisingly normal and domestic.
And he loves it.
Mission Failed, Successfully? - Mitts
Pitts propose to Meeks that they should pretend to be dating when Valentines Day for this year since they were the only single ones in the group, this plan backfires. In the best way possible.
If it's with you, I'll do anything - Chameron
Cameron wasn't someone who celebrates Valentine's Day.
Charlie Dalton's gonna change that.
Love, Neil - Anderperry
Neil loved to write letters to Todd even when they were still in Welton, now older Todd wanted to celebrate their Valentines together differently, so he hatched a plan.
I'll save you a seat, lover - CHADD
Charlie and Todd spend their Valentine's in Paris, love is in the air!
But Charlie has other plans and Todd is just happy to be there with him.
Hope you all enjoy!
