Okay I adore the entire frequency fic and I've definitely rambled in the comments, but when you talked Thad's new costume I got so excited because I thought up of one a while ago and it also had a hood and cowl!! I just think it'd be great on him.

Do you have thoughts about how they start on while he's running? For mine I went with magnets on the hood, cowl, and goggles, so they can all be up together or separately.

Anyway, I'm just really happy whenever people make new costumes for Thad, because I think there's no way he'd want to keep wearing a suit that's made to be an inversion of Bart's.

tbh i truly went: the hood just doesnt stay on while he's running. the choice is deeply impractical and entirely for fashion. when thad isn't running and just hanging out or sneaking around or whatever is when the hood comes up purely because he thinks it looks cool.

although... maybe there could be some kind of thing where it attaches to his earpieces? but then it would just kinda half slide off his head...

Donnie is super hard for me to draw, particularly with his accessories, so I did some more studies. This time they're centered around him. I'll try to share some of the stuff I noticed. I'm not exactly sure how much I learned, but I think I got something out of it lol.

One of the ways I figured out to draw his head was similar to Raph's circle, where it's just an oval with extra steps. The eye line is on the center of the oval, and his snout is just a little below the eye line. The jaw connects to the bottom of the oval. The sides of his head go straight up the oval to the top, and connect. Alternatively, you can make his head a circle and extend the jaw/snout downwards, with his head and such still following a similar shape. The start of the goggles is like an ear's, with the top of the round part directly on the eye line. Goggle ears.

Donnie's body is built using angular tube like shapes. Different to Raph's, they're far longer and slimmer. He's built tall and lanky. His palms and base of his feet are built with polygons. His knee and arm pads still perplex me, but I think they extend forward and away from the joint. They follow the shape of the lower outside limb then extend past it, connecting back to the rest. His battle shall has two main parts, being the frame and then the actual outer part. It's like the other's carapace's, but with harsher separations and boxier. The upper part of his plaston dips at the same point as his shell. His plastron also doesn't have that bump right below the upper plastoron the other turtles do. It's smooth. His plastron follows a similarly boxy shape similar to Mikey, thought with harsher edges.

In conclusion, Donnie is tall, long, has a lot of squarer shape language, and a bunch of really confusing to draw accessories.

progress for today! i unfucked the textues (for realsies this time), made the ribbon (just a transparent texture on a plane), created 4 hand poses (rock, paper, scissors, gun), completely finished segmentation and ordering/naming/grouping bones, and created 2 simple poses!

i think im fr starting to reach the end of this project... in the span of about a week and a half ive gone from having absolutely zero 3d modeling knowledge whatsoever (minus like 1 day of a camp i didnt attend 7 years ago) to having a full ass character i built completely from scratch. wild. it's... humbling, to know i made this. wait, no, i mean the exact opposite of that. its self-aggrandizing. this shit is fucking awesome. i made this? im fucking awesome. i think im a god-like being now. thats how it works right?

anyway. stuff to do next: props (bag, gun), separate the pupils into an object so i can make her look anywhere other than straight ahead, a couple more poses, maybe a simple animation, and learn how to render shit in blender.

i think i'll consider this project finished once i have at least one prop and render some nice looking images and a turnaround gif in blender. but after that, down the line, eventually, i'm gonna muck about. i wanna at least explore rigging and making a walk and skate cycle, maybe a more complex animation. i wanna study how bird beaks are animated and modelled so i can and as for stuff i plan to do in the future unrelated to this project, i wanna model more characters, sonic character and my ocs and humans, i wanna learn blender even though its so scary, i wanna learn rigging and animation, i just wanna do everything. i'm having a lot of fun with 3d as a medium, i hope i continue to have fun and make good art!

my main ocs aren't armor wearers at all. not in a serious way at least 😭😭😭😭 they prioritize speed over anything so armor would get in the way and in the terms of worldbuilding they're using battle magic illegally without a permit so walking around w armor on would draw too much attention lolllll. plus dante really doesnt gaf abt battle wounds since he has crazy fast health regen. if they did wear armor it would be purely for decoration! as shown below 😁im imagining they got a deal to model armor to pay for accidentally causing massive property damage

Had a Arasu, Drabur and Korkie thought

BASICALLY Pre, aka the dude who killed Drabur, said that it was impossible to recover Drabur's body (basically to deny Drabur a proper funeral and to leave his body wasting away + to steal the beskar for the DW)

Which means that the armour wasn't able to be recovered by the Kryze Armour that we know is often passed down and forged for the new generation And like That Means that Korkie wouldn't have anything of his father to add to his armour¹

So what does Arasu do? Arasu gives his two vambraces for Korkie's armour The vambraces, one of which used to be Drabur's and was exchanged during the wedding

All so that Korkie would have something of his Father in his armour And so the vambraces were melted down and turned into Korkie's vambraces and Also turned into the beskar heart in the centre (which was the priority, the vambraces were then filled with what remained of both and with bits of beskar from older armours)

So Arasu lost the bit that connected him to his husband's soul - because don't forget! Armour is SUPER important to the Mandos - just so that his son could have a connection with him
