The first step is the hardest one but believe you are ready to start!

Mesh Optimization Info

(I am posting this by itself at the request of the tutorial database gang. This post contains information and links about optimizing 3d models, retopology, and texture baking.)

What I was taught in my video game art dregree is that for modern GPUs, handling a lot of geometry isn’t a big deal. However, it’s still best to optimize your models for ease of use. A model with a reasonable poly count and good topology is easier to skin (assign bone weights to) and will deform better during animations. It’s less to load for the game engine or 3d modeling software. More on good topology here.

(Modern game characters usually have very high polycounts because of detailed outfits and hair (including brows, beards and eyelashes) and the desire for curved surfaces to look smooth. These models are not plopped directly into the game from Marvelous Designer or ZBrush. Nathan Drake’s face geometry may be heavy, but it’s intentful. See the circular ‘flow’ around the eyes and mouth.)

Something that is costlier on the GPU is complex shaders, such as alpha blending of overlapping elements as seen with hair and foliage. (Here is a screenshot from Unreal Engine showing the rendering cost of foliage vs the rest of a scene.) This means that in certain cases, using more polygons to avoid their overlap is the better alternative. Here is an example I drew.

Texture size is alsosomething to keep in mind with tS2. The game isn’t great with texture memory: just look at how quickly you’ll get pink flashing in a forested neighborhood. The standard I was taught is that texture resolution should roughly correspond to the space the object will take up on the screen. The UV map should take up as much of the texture space as possible. Since tS4 uses one big texture for all of a sim’s component meshes, it’s better to rescale their UVs and crop their textures when converting.

Now onto some actionable advice :p

I’d highly recommend using Blender rather than Milkshape, at least when dealing with big meshes. It’s got a learning curve, but the software is very powerful and the internet is full of tutorials. Here are the plugins to use for GMDC meshes in Blender 2.8+, and Blender 2.79.

The first step to making an extremely high poly mesh game-ready is retopology: creating a version of the model with simpler geometry.

- It can be done using tools, such as Blender’s Poly Build Tool. This is quick, but good results are not guaranteed for every mesh.

- My preference is to do it by hand. This video by FlippedNormals explains in detail how to do manual retopology in Blender.

- I’ve also seen multiple tutorials from Sims 4 creators, but I can’t vouch for whether they are good or accessible: mauvemorn, SM&Kleos, jwofles.

- If the original mesh already has good topology (eg. it looks like a grid and not a bunch of uneven little ‘flowers’), you should be able to simplify it by simply deleting rendundant edge loops.

The second step is texture baking: translating shape and shading details from the high poly model into the texture(s) used by the low(er) poly model. In a modern game, most of this information would be ‘baked’ into a normal map. Since the Sims 2 is old, its capacity to render those is pretty basic. Most everything has to go into the baseline diffuse texture.

- This great tutorial by Lyralei explains how to create and bake texture details in Blender into the ‘multiplier’ texture of a tS3 outfit. (I highly recommend creating a multiplier style base to all textures, even when you’re not working from a high poly model.)

- The add-on TexTools (old website with more info) has powerful baking tools which greatly simplify the process. Its ‘Paint Base’ preset does a decent job at producing multipliers.

- I personally do my texture baking and creation in Substance Painter, which sadly is paid. I use Luis Armstrong’s smart material as a base for most my textures. The set up is shown in case you want to recreate it yourself - which should be doable in any software as long as you can bake the relevant texture maps. I can share more about my process if there’s interest.

(Texture baking is also very useful in ‘adapting’ the multiple texture maps of modern PBR rendering into a diffuse that will look good in the Sims 2. For example, here is the original diffuse of this object, and here is my final texture.)

What’s the toughest case Nora ever took as a lawyer? Has she ever wanted to quit after defending someone bad/or losing as case on the offence?

What’s she proudest of? What‘s CONSTANTLY on her mind? Did her favourite sweater survive the bombs? What’s her opinion on Sentry Bots or Assaultrons? WHATS SHE THINK OF FATHER?? (and does she ever think about technically being the grandmother of all synths?)

Lots of questions but I am curious!

aaaa thank you! i'm always happy to talk about nora!! (i also talk a lot about her and do ask games and such over on my fanfic blog; here's her tag!) under the cut for length because i am longwinded

oh man, nora wants to quit being a lawyer all the time but sticks it out because she feels its a moral duty. if she wasn't a lawyer, i think she'd own a greenhouse or go to school for art history, but she really struggles with letting herself relax, or feeling like she's allowed to relax/do things she enjoys. i'm gonna keep a lid on the reason why, but it'll eventually get explained in this fic i'm writing. (which i am sooo close to posting chapter 1 of!)

nora most often wants to quit after losing defense cases. prison is a punishment and not rehabilitation, help with bad circumstances, etc, and since she's a public defender most of her clients are struggling poor folks who can't afford an expensive lawyer. she tries very hard to be a servant of the common people.

she actually did prosecution for a little while but quit because she didn't vibe with it at all. in my fic the prewar legal system is skewed heavily in favor of the prosecution, and juries are pressured to convict, even in cases where there's reasonable doubt, no motive, etc. nora doesn't like feeling like a weapon of the state used to punish its own people, so she walks away.

as for tough cases: i'm still ironing this out for the fic, but i wanted to expand on the corsino case mentioned in the scrapped sanctuary hills terminal. in the end, nora never gets to see it finished because of the war, and that weighs on her.

nora tries to be proud of making it through law school, because it was a struggle for her, but she has difficulty being proud of herself (her husband does a pretty good job of being proud for her, though). deacon talks her into being proud of the work she does for the railroad, even though it never feels like she's done enough.

unfortunately nora sometimes spirals in her thoughts, and one thing in particular is often on her mind: that she should have carried shaun that morning. fic snippet here, tw for graphic violence, suicidal ideation, and general bad brain stuff. she has a very unhealthy relationship with her perception of her actions that day, and it eats away at her.

her favorite sweater did not survive the bombs; none of her clothes or personal items did (save for the holotape from codsworth and her and her husband's wedding rings). she misses her wool peacoat immensely. mama murphy does knit her a grey sweater that she wears pretty frequently, though.

oh god, assaultrons and sentry bots both scare the hell out of her. her first gunshot wound is actually courtesy of a sentry bot she and her companions accidentally activated. she gets clipped in the upper arm and it leaves a nasty scar and puts her out of commission for a few weeks while it heals. [here's a fic snippet of just after she gets shot, and another where she's got cabin fever and disassembled nick's office (under the "anger" heading). tw for blood and injury in the first link!]

that obviously is a pretty awful first introduction to sentries. she tries very hard to avoid fighting them when possible. she feels the same about assaultrons. nora's main advantage in combat is her speed and stealthiness, and she really hates having to fight things that are faster than she is and can find her. (she likes kleo a lot, though, and considers her a friend.)

oh, father. god. okay he's a huge part of why i'm even writing this fic in the first place. nora genuinely loves him and tries her best to convince him to change his plans and... it doesn't work. she's just another experiment to him and whether he cares for her or is lying to string her along is unclear, but she loves him and so she can't let go. it's an emotionally abusive relationship on father's part, and part of nora recognizes this but... that's her baby, y'know? as awful as he is she can't help but love him.

how she resolves this is uh, spoilers, sorry. it's one of my favorite moments in the fic, though.

she soundly rejects the idea of being a grandparent to the synths. she does consider many of them family (danse, x6, and shaun in particular), but in a found-family way like she considers her postwar human friends family. i talk a little about it in this post, but to sum up, she thinks father's take on it is very paternalistic, especially given that he doesn't see synths as people. biological relation doesn't mean very much to her.

The first time I saw this painting, on someone's Twitter feed, I thought it was awesome. As in, capable of striking awe, not the colloquial adjective. Bellerophon's story is not my most favourite, it is by Greek myth standards, pretty average. Hero does heroic things, gets punished for hubris, has a miserable life. Bellerophon wanted to ride Pegasus to the summit of Olympus itself, and Zeus (after getting offended) sends a gadfly to sting Pegasus, who loses balance. Bellerophon falls, breaks his bones and lives the rest of his life a cripple. Like, I've seen this film before. A 1746 ceiling fresco by Giovanni Battista Tiepolo, it has in the center (dead center) the shining face of Bellerophon, who's the subject of the painting. Towards Glory, rides Pegasus, his white-winged steed and Bellerophon casually shrugs away the old man with a lance at the bottom of the picture. He's untroubled by mortal affectations. The woman in golden yellow robes is Glory personified, next to the pyramid, which has always symbolized Eternity (come back to this soon). About the gender choices, all I'll say is that Joseph Campbell would have loved it. Painted in the Rococo style, we can see the circular frame padded with curving assymetrical floral motifs. It only gets better the more you look at it.

Eternal Glory, translated from the Greek phrase, "kleos aphthiton". I have no clue what the literal translation actually is. I hear such different translations of this as puzzle me exceedingly (thanks Jane Austen). The Greeks honoured Eternal Glory above everything else, and the trope of every Greek myth is the hero who endures a miserable life in exchange for kleos. This genre has inspired much art, and the temptation is easy to understand. Rubens' Perseus freeing Andromeda, Reni's Hercules on the Pyre, Rubens' Death of Achilles, Draper's The Lament for Icarus, Chaise's Theseus Victor of the Minotaur, Orpheus by Marcel-Beronneau, and The Slaughter of the Suitors by Odysseus and Telemachus by Palliere. I hope to get to all of them someday. In other news, I'm reading Complications by Atul Gawande, and Taylor's Eras tour is a masterpiece in the performing arts. Ciao.

Directors commentary on it’s a game of give and take pleaseeeeee 💜💜

✨It’s A Game of Give And Take✨ is probably the most popular story I’ve posted on my blog. It’s certainly the one with the highest note count this year.

So, Director’s Cut. 👇🏻

This story wasn’t really supposed to look like how it is now. While the story is linear in its chronology, it wasn’t supposed to be as separated as it is, I guess. The story was supposed to start with reader seeing Steve and hearing about his predicament (his roommate proposing to their girlfriend and Steve offering to leave) and offering the spare room. There was supposed to be the meet cute of Bucky seeing Steve walk through the door with reader. There would be tension and the instant connection. There were some phases of the original brainstorms that took a much more dark turn (specifically inspired by white noise by @kleohoneyao3—it’s amazing, truly). But then I didn’t wanna step on toes or veer too close to that story cause it’s so amazing and Kleo is brilliant and there were already similar elements there. 

Figuring out which monsters the boys ended up as was kinda simple. I knew what kind of monsters I liked. I saw a lot of people writing about orcs and demons and werewolves and vampires in fanfiction. I wanted something different and I’d seen lots of naga and minotaur art around the time, I think, and I think I just went—they would give good cuddles. And I wanted that. Ergo, Minotaur Steve (a bull-headed, stubborn, strong, adorable guy) and Naga Bucky (a clingy, touch starved, soft, sneaky, dangerous-looking sweetheart). 

I’ve mentioned that I’m more focused on romantic aspects rather than sexual aspects in my stories. And with this, I wanted to explore the closeness of friendships because sometimes I struggle with that. When does a really close, affectionate bond become romantic as opposed to platonic? Where’s the line? (The answer is when all parties decide to take it to that point, btw.) It was just something I wanted to explore. And I know, I know, five months is a long time. Reader is oblivious and so stuck in her head about everything. And Steve and Bucky are operating under the impression of reader already confessing herself to them (mentioned in the sequel). It’s a bit of a clusterfuck and the ending really lays everything out like a giant breath of relief. 

More of their backstory and feelings will be revealed and develop in the threequel, which I’m working on right now. Let’s just say we’re delving into the college years, baking, reader’s family, shedding skin, past possible paramours, and certain traditions in minotaur and naga culture. 😊

Character Information

History: the past considered as a whole.

How does one consider a whole past? How does someone know every piece? There is always something missing. You cannot know everything. There will always be questions, always something to tease out. Without going there yourself, you cannot possibly know…

Her whole life, Kleopatra has felt listless, dismissed by her family. Just one piece of a larger puzzle. With her sisters, her family, she has only ever been just one more voice, one more body. Not even an important corner piece, like her oldest sister Ramavo. Or like her mother, the matriarch of the Schreiber family.

What is the image at the end, once all the pieces are in place? Is there a way to find out? Is sorcery what she should be doing? Or was there something else that was calling her name? What makes you whole?

That is what Kleo has been trying to answer for herself: what will make her whole? Why doesn’t she feel content in her house, with her sisters and her family? She has so many questions that no one else seems to have. Her sisters love their lives. They love their magic. They love their family name and their family’s prestige. They don’t wonder what else there is.

Kleo does. She is the dreamer of the family. Sitting in the corner, scribbling in her journal, head in the clouds. Her head is in the clouds, she doesn’t practice her magic as much as she should. (She loves her magic! Really, she does. She just…loves history and culture and objects too.)

To her, there is a magic in the world and she wants to discover it. Both for everyone else, but also for herself. She wants to find that piece of herself that will make her whole.

aahh thank you so much i’ve been listening to funeral on repeat since yesterday! also you truly have opened the wistful floodgates with this ask.

sometimes i feel like my brain is just one tangled mess of thematic comparatives. bc it went from your (cruel river -> funeral -> in blackwater woods) to (nick drake’s place to be -> alabama shakes’ sound and color -> patroclus retelling his story to thetis in madeline miller’s song of achilles)

i feel like if were to force a through-line here it’s looking for that specific bittersweetness of holding sand—having something and watching it slip through your hands simultaneously. it’s this really specific kind of longing that widens the definition of nostalgia to me. i feel like eleventy7 is really good at accessing that emotional tension. bc in the act of remembering, an artist gets to suspend you/a character in time—where all versions of the past and present self are occurring at once. you’ve temporarily breached an inevitable distance. and i love how concrete language sort of fails us in describing that disorienting feeling.

so mary oliver talks about nameless ponds, trees whose bodies turn into pillars, and black rivers. and phoebe bridgers talks about a dream where she’s screaming underwater. and alabama shakes talks about “falling awake”—sleeping and waking up to a strange world. and nick drake talks about himself as colors in nature that emphasize how he’s changed. and madeline miller writes patroclus saying “But the memories well up like springwater, faster than I can hold them back. They do not come as words, but like dreams, rising as scent from the rain-wet earth.”

like it’s about the immensity!! of time, loss, change, newness, etc. and i think that’s something i love about post-deathly hallows drarry fics because you get to chase the nostos after kleos—all the reflections on the loss of adolescence/innocence that come post-war. it’s such a satisfying narrative movement to me. which i think makes sense bc i’ve always favored the odyssey over the iliad for this same reason.

i think mostly it’s the surreality of this mood that really does it for me. that almost sublime occurrence in visceral memories that sort of pull you outside yourself. the longing is near unbearable but you can’t help but want to sit inside it and look and look. like trying to hold a world in your hand. i love it.

I really enjoyed the p5 place hc’s would you be willing to do a scenario? What if the phantom thieves found out about their comrade Yusuke’s palace? I want to know what would happen and their reaction to how obsessive the guy is over his sweet girlfriend? And if they would approach and try to help his s/o? Please and thank you!!! You’re writing and so good it helps me get through the day ^^

Okay so I had to brainstorm this one with Mod Kleos (hey buddy!) because I had so much…not so much trouble, but I just couldn’t figure it out. It’s a great idea and I love it and I’m so sorry it took so long to get to.

So you said scenario and I’m sorry but I kinda…I don’t know if you mean, like, a one shot or a ramble? So I went with a little bit of both, which is why it took so much longer. Sorry if I got it wrong!

Okay so while the Phantom Thieves aren’t exactly normal they all acknowledge that among them Yusuke is “the weird one”; he goes off on long tangents about beauty and aethetics and color theory and they’re kinda happy to let him ramble until he finishes (not to mention that his actual speech pattern is super formal so it all just stands out that much more), one day he just…starts acting even weirder.

And for awhile I’m thinking they let it go but Ryuji starts getting annoyed with it and asks what’s up and Yusuke admits that he’s got a new muse.

And they’re all okay with it and congratulate him.

(And I’m imagining Ann is especially okay with this because now she doesn’t have to wonder if he’s gonna ask her to pose nude again)

Now that the cat’s out of the bag Yusuke talks about them all the time, though- what they wear, what they talk about, their studies. And jesus fuck, they’re an art student too so now Yusuke’s doubling down on the love thing.

Finally though Haru inquires about their name.

And Yusuke goes fucking nuts.

Because no one needs to know his darling and it’s absurd that they want to pry into his life like this. And while they can all get testy Yusuke doesn’t lash out like this and it puts them all on edge. He gets control of himself and excuses himself from the meeting but he leaves his phone.

So of course they go through it because they want to know what the fuck is up, yeah?

And it’s…disturbing. Constant fucking texts, “candid” shots that make it clear he’s been stalking this person, pictures of them in their dorms- had he climbed a tree or the building for those pics? He’s got long rambling notes to himself on that phone about them- how much he wants them, what he wants them to do, how much he loves them, how they’re finally warming up to him, their routines. He worships them, they are art personified

He calls them his deity, proclaims them holy- the symbol of true art, he wants to lay prostrate at their feet and worship them.

“We need to look into this.” Makoto says and Akira and the rest of them absolutely agree.

Yusuke gets his phone back, and none of them miss the steady way he watches them- like a snake.

Futaba reverse image searches the darling and gets their name; and they basically stalk the stalker for awhile just to make sure that…well they’re reading into the situation correctly.

(it’s Yusuke- none of them want to think of him being so disturbing)

But the sight of him trailing after you is disturbing, the constant pictures, the watching, the awkward conversations when he does approach you.

So they meet up without him and try to figure out the words for the Meta-Navigator. 

It takes awhile.

They only hit the right points when Ryuji of all people reminds them of Yusuke’s words: deity- your name- worship

And they’re in.

It’s not like Madarame’s; bright and tacky enough to make your eyes burn, thankfully. But it is massive, and gravity doesn’t work the same way- they find rooms and halls that seem to be inspired by the Escher work. Your statues and altars are everywhere.

Futuba is disgusted by all of it. Haru is...well, triggered. Ann has to be persuaded not to destroy the statues (they remind her of Kamoshida, and it’s only Makoto’s observation that they aren’t pornographic or lewd that really stops her- indeed the statues are loving recreations of Yusuke’s muse, down to every last imperfection. And they’re fully dressed, not naked or in skimpy clothes)

Incense hangs above them like smoke- clouding the air and making them sneeze. Safe rooms are rare; when they flicker into reality and back again they recognize it as the muse’s bedroom.

They rest up but decide to keep going, because they need to find out how deep the rabbit hole goes.

The keep to the shadows, stealing bits of jewelry and coins and baubles that litter the temple at the many altars.

They hear Yusuke before they see him, kneeling before an opulent shrine.

He’s dressed in a priest’s garb, face to the floor, mumbling to himself.

“I devote my body and my soul to you, oh muse, that your smile may shine upon me, that my service might be of use to you, that I might capture a fragment of your humanity...”

It’s pretty fucking weird.

“We can’t just go after him.” Morgana warns, but clearly he’s pretty damn shaken by all of it. How could he have missed a palace? In their own group? Now everyone was suspect...

“We handle this like any other target.” Akira agrees calmly. “We don’t let him know, we keep it quiet.”

Ryuji is the last of them to agree, but eventually they get him to.

Bwick - What awe some things you diswike?

Kleo is not a big fan of messy environments. She’s got some OCD and will have trouble letting a mess go unorganized. She’s also not a fan of bitter foods, preferring sweet things. 

Peach - Are you generally a more gentle and soft spoken person or a louder and rougher person?

As a rule, she’s much more soft-spoken. Very gentle prodding in the right direction. I imagine there exists enough stimulus out there to cause a meltdown of some sort, but I haven’t run into it.

Sepia - Do you have any hobbies? If so, what are they?

Does telling the future count as a hobby? What about talking to inanimate objects? More seriously she’s from a Hive and while they celebrate certain things like the arts they’re still ultimately a bit low on the individuality scale. Kleo is. the extreme embodiment of that fact. She does her job for the Hive because she likes being accepted by them, and aside from that you can mostly find her honing her skills.

Random OC questions I found lying around!

Ok so I found some old OC questions I found in a notebook, but I sadly don't have source who I got these from (it was definitelly from Tumblr). If I remember, I'll definitelly edit in who put these in! I'll also skip the ones that are more like notes, because some of them contain plot spoilers! Some of these are also pretty obscure, but I found them fun at the time, so oh well.

Me, after writing this all down: Yeah, this got super long, so I’m putting it under a Read More link. Sorry!

Q: What does your character's name mean? Did you pick it for the symbolism, or did you just like the way it sounded?

A: In most cases, it's the symbolism. It's a fun easter egg for the readers and also a shortcut for my internal knowledge of the character (I'm basically cheating).

Updated A: This answer isn't true for Team Lasso, introduced in Chapter 21. I just pictured the characters in my head as I wrote the scene, and then I gave them names I thought would fit their description. I only later looked up the meaning behind their names. I only changed one of their names after I remembered the initials have to roughly spell something, whoops!

Q: What is one of your character's biggest insecurities? Are they able to hide it well, or can others easily exploit this weakness?

A: Robin is really insecure about his skills to become a huntsman, because he has virtually no combat experience like for example Ismene, who comes from a martial arts dojo. He trains and studies extra hard to make up for it. Only his team knows about this, and they don't bring it up, just secretly support him.

Q: What is perhaps their biggest flaw? Are they aware of it, or completelly oblivious?

A: Alexander is not that perceptive, and while his team members *do* point this out to him, it never sticks. They gave up trying to change him, and just look out for him (especially Robin).

Q: What are their sleeping habits?

Leiah is a night owl and likes to sleep in, though can function normally with little sleep.

Ismene is a sleep talker, further not helping Leiah sleep (since they share a dorm room).

Alexander is a heavy sleeper and is almost always groggy even after 8+ hours of sleep.

Robin falls asleep quickly and is a light sleeper. He also wakes up stupidly early.

Q: Would your character be the kind to get into fights (physical or verbal)? Would they be a good fighter, or cave in easily?

A: Alexander and Leiah can get into both kinds of fights easily, while Robin and Ismene try to avoid them. Ismene is the only one in the group who couldn't hold her ground, especially in verbal fights.

Q: Does your character like animals? What are some of their favourites? Would they want pets?

A: Ismene loves animals. She would have dozens of pets if Leiah (and the school) let her, but only has 3 mice in a cage next to her bed.

Q: What would be their favourite physical trait about themselves?

A: Alexander is proud that he is already taller than most of his siblings, despite being one of the youngest.

Q: Your OC encounters a huge puddle in their path. Do they try to go around is? Jump over it? Take a few moments to splash around?

Robin goes around, finding the least muddy path.

Alexander doesn't notice it until he's ankles deep in it and the water is in his shoes.

Ismene plays at the edge of the puddle by making ripples with the tip of her shoes.

Leiah jumps over it. If unsuccessful, she walks away as quickly as possible.

Q: Imagine your OCs ghost hunting.

Alexander is immediatelly suspicious of sudden noises.

Ismene freaks out all the time.

Robin finds a rational explanation for everything.

Leiah is just there to freak out Alexander, calm down Ismene, and maybe make some specrtal buddies.

Q: Does your OC have a favourite season? What about a favourite holliday?

Alexander likes summer, because it's warm and there's no school. He likes the Fireworks festival, because fireworks are pretty.

Robin likes spring, because there's finally something to do on the farm back home. He likes Festivale day, because kids get to have lots of fun and it also symbolizes driving away the winter.

Ismene likes autumn (fall), because the colours are pretty. Also the Fireworks festival, also because it's pretty.

Leiah likes winter, because only then her layers of clothes don't recieve weird looks. She doesn't have a favourite holliday, because they didn't celebrate them where she's from.

Q: What is something that would make your character fly into a rage?

Alexander would fight anyone who teases or bullies anyone who can't defend themselves (through absence or otherwise).

Robin is very unreadable, so his rage would be cold and unnoticable. The reason would be someone offending him and his huntsman abilities because of his background.

Ismene is very "Lawful Good". Anything she sees as unfair to her or someone else would work her up

Leiah would fight anyone who she thinks has something against her for no real reason.

Q: Is there a certain person in this world they cannot stand? The very mention of this character makes them tremble with anger or fear.

A: All of them hate Alexander's older sister, Kleo, who is a bully and a witch (figurativelly speaking). Alexander tries to be more reserved around her, Robin and Ismene try to avoid conflict with her, and Leiah would physically fight her if that didn't result with trouble for Alexander. Speaking of Leiah, she also partially hates Mariamne, and fully despises Sam (from Team Lasso).

Q: Does your character have dreams of getting married and/or having children?

A: Alexander, sometimes. Ismene definitelly for both. Robin and Leiah never really thought about it that much.

And lastly, probably my favourite one:

Q: If your character was going to get arrested, what would be the most likely reason for it?

Alexander: disturbing public peace.

Robin: shoplifting just to get to Alexander and keep him for freaking out that he got arrested.

Ismene? Never. She gets nervous just thinking about breaking the law, even in a minor way.

Leiah: getting into fights with literally anyone that looks at her funny for getting into fights with people that look at her funny.
