If you're bored, I know you're not super familiar with it, but the character thing for Waylon from Outlast?
perfect considering I'm in the middle of making your Waylon edit right now! lol I think I've probably gathered enough about him to make some loose guesses
Rate them from 0-10 (0 being least favorite, 10 being all time favorite)
SOLID 8 he reminds me of mr Ethan Winters and that's always a good thing. idk if he's as funny in Outlast as Ethan is in RE since he doesn't really speak but I mean c'mon. They should be buddies and hang out at a bowling alley or something
Sexuality HC (whether I kin them or not)
He sorta has pathetic bi vibes?? 🤝🤝 and I mean that in the best way possible since all of my faves have pathetic bi energy as well lol
Gender HC (whether I kin them or not)
Trans Man. need I say more
Fav Moment/Random Trivia
I don't think this really counts as trivia but I find it funny that the asylum is on a mountain called Mount Massive. that's such a funny name for a big hill
Random HC
I think he has a thing for retro video games and especially Nintendo, I would like to imagine him having to look up a walkthrough to the original LoZ game and showing his kids old 2D platformers
Opinion
He’s neat. I mayy be projecting onto him a little bit because I haven’t played Outlast but through the numerous requests I’ve gotten of him he’s been endeared to me. I like him :)

Please explain your Nailmaster Oro and Lost Kin headcanon, I would like to hear it very very much.
GLADLY !!!!!! (thank u sm for this ask :]]] )
so, assuming the vessels all have the same base experience when they escape the abyss and head into hallownest, Lost Kin in theory starts off with the same base abilities that you have at the start of a playthrough. no nail arts, charms, etc.
i bring up nail arts specifically, because one of the attacks that LK does in the boss fights: the dash attack
Tumblr media
which. to me, personally, looks like the dash slash !! which is the nail art that you can only learn from Nailmaster Oro (in-universe, maybe you could also learn it from Sly, or one of the other Nailmasters despite it not being their speciality? but this is just going off what i think would be most likely rather than all the possibilities ever)
it has the same moment of charging up, and then the overall appearance of the attack just looks like the dash slash. it has further range, but LK is bigger than Ghost, so that could be one explanation for that
Tumblr media
also, relatively to the rest of hallownest, the two of them aren't actually that far from one another ! and the path isnt too complicated. Oro is definitely the easiest nailmaster to get to from LK's room, so i dont think it'd be a stretch to say that they could've made the distance while not infected
the final 'evidence' point (and the weakest) is that LK does the same bow the nailmasters do, when they are beaten in the dream realm
Tumblr media Tumblr media
i say that this point is a bit weak, because other characters also do a bow, like grimm and the mantis lords, so it may be more widely known in Hallownest's society to bow after a fight/duel/whatever. however, LK's room's closest (least complicated to get to might be more accurate?) character that canonically bows in respect after a fight is... oro ! so i choose to believe this is where they got it from
AND NOW... THE SPECULATION
this part comes second to the previous stuff i provided and is more just things i think about now that im committed to the hc
Oro is very reluctant to take Ghost on as a pupil, and remains very distant emotionally, especially when compared to his brother Mato. this could, technically, be explained by the feud between him and Mato leading to his isolation, and some other stuff going on in his past. which i do believe contributes to it !
but another thing that may also contribute to specifically having an aversion to accepting students and getting close to them... well... what if he previously had a student that left, or he got separated with for whatever reason ? and that student never came back ? the only company anywhere near his isolated hut, and theyre gone and he doesn't know where they went or what happened to them
final and strongest propaganda point: reluctant mentor figure that eventually has to admit that he does enjoy the company of his mentee, and mischievous mentee that incessantly bothers the mentor trope dynamic. that is all

Not sure if people honestly forget or just kind of ignore how Dior explicitly took part in the Battle of Sarn Athrad one of whose main objectives (or at the very least RESULTS) was to retrieve the Silmaril. As if a huge part of the irony of the run-up to the Second Kinslaying isn't that Doriath are the ones who killed people specifically in pursuit of the Silmaril (that were longstanding allies of the Fëanorians and contributed in the wars against Morgoth as recently as the Union of Maedhros, even potential friends re: Curufin, and whose craftsmanship Beren has to thank for being able to cut the thing free from Morgoth's crown in the first place). Dior's connection to the Silmaril isn't just having it passed down from his parents, he actively fought for it (which I'll grant wasn't necessarily his chief motivation and more important to his father, but the larger point still stands). That's the context in which he refuses to even negotiate with the Fëanorians claim.

Here's a Class A "thought I had that requires a strong assertion but spins into a worrying chain of events". One of the things I like least about p2 is that it frames humanity itself as incompatible with the Earth - the Kin must reject humanity to be able to survive the Earth's pain. (I've talked before about how weird it is that this doesn't extend to the white adult townsfolk who are stripped of their humanity in the Nocturnal ending then walk off to die, and of course how bad it sucks that the core premise of this game is "the Indigenous population are meant to be subhuman", but bear with me.) It's not only an appallingly pessimistic position with respect to real-world sustainability, but goes against extensive histories of human stewardship and care for land. The other thing on my mind lately is how most members of the Kin talk about eagerly awaiting the day they "flood the streets of the Town", killing settlers and reclaiming their lands - reciprocal violence, i.e. the racist fear that self-determination and an end to oppression for the Kin will mean the violent death or expulsion of the oppressors. The image of indiscriminate violence and the cessation of morals is itself what we'd call inhumanity, right? Which is the origin of a certain slur towards Indigenous peoples.
So, "humanity"/"civilization" is the source of the pain that the Earth is lashing out against. The game presents this directly as "the Polyhedron literally harmed the Earth", but the Polyhedron is a recent construction and not the origin of "civilization" on Gorkhon: if anything, it traces back to the construction of the first buildings around the Abattoir as canon's first mention of the "Town" as a concept, which develops into the modern usage of the Termitary: representative of the Olgimskys' control over the Kin (in physical freedom of movement, and financial dependence on factory work; further, culturally wrt. spiritual leader Tycheek being of the Termitary, to say nothing of Oyun). So one can eventually argue (this being the assertion!) that the oppression of the Kin is what is harming the Earth - supported by the fact that in the endings, the Kin and Earth either live or die together, but moreso going back to how similar colonial dynamics have damaged our planet IRL.
And this draws a parallel between the Kin and the Plague itself, where the Plague "floods" the streets of the Town and instills a new order. The pitchforks-and-torches human revolution that Kin characters express their desire for never happens, leaving the Sand Pest as both the closest substitute for this imagery, and the vehicle by which the way is cleared for the Kin's new society in Nocturnal. The violence is still enacted and it's still unconscionable, but it is done by a reflex of the quasi-sentient Earth; that is, it's an act of the Earth as it exists in the Kin's belief system. The connections between the Kin and Earth legitimize their interests as shared: in fact, the Plague was once held back, until a member of the Kin felt it was in their people's best interest to unleash it.
Is it any less offensive to make a game that plays reciprocal violence (as feared by the colonizer) straight, but as an abstracted, automatic process spawned from nothing, rather than something the oppressed people enact themselves? I think it meshes with the treatment of the Kin as helpless and without agency, described as "a realm of infants" by Oyun and (paraphrased) "not understanding themselves" by the art book design notes; underscored by the nonexistence of efforts towards liberation in-game from Kin characters, even including the Haruspex. In the same vein, there's interplay with the way that the Kin's cosmology and beliefs being real in the setting demarcates their people as mystical, wrt. the Earth's magical intervention being the only way the game suggests that the tension between Town and Kin could be solved.
The main takeaway I got from writing this out is that Isidor is more connected to the "flooding the town" idea than previously thought (which is part of the interesting topic of how Isidor conceives of violence and the necessity of violence, in relation to his being implied to be an abusive father), and that merits further inspection... but as always, valuing the writers' choice of themes surrounding the Kin on how well they form Isidor's character isn't very productive from a "how this relates to the real world" standpoint. I don't have a neat ending for it though

Every day is a good day to remember that you can always...
Be whatever you are.
Call yourself whatever labels feel true.
Belong to whatever communities uplift you.
And as long as you're coming from a place of good faith, nobody is allowed to gatekeep that away from you.
And if they try, you're allowed to bite them.

I hate hate hate those marauders fans who make you feel bad about liking a certain character/ship just bc they don't like them.
Like just bc you don't like jily or jegulus or Barty/Evan/Snape doesn't mean you have to make people feel bad. Some fans attack creators in their comments (on TikTok) over these opinions and it's so annoying like please stop.

I didn't get a chance to vote on the poll, but also noticed what would have been my answer wasn't there so I'm writing it in now- I personally see it as he's their CREATOR first, manager second. They don't call him manager in a lot of materials, and they also don't call him father, they call him "Captain" or "sir," (this being pulled from largely the additional voice actor's portrayals at least, which I think are worth at least considering in a wider scope of interpretation)
That feels like the title or nickname he'd prefer they use, hence programming them TO use it for him- and that betrays neither fatherly intent nor producer intent, but pre-existing intent he didn't change (lifting from prior coding) or that he preferred. Beyond that he definitely refers to them as troops- it is their aesthetic, but it's more impersonal
the items you get for the lore on 1010 are toys, and while it's not stated, I've always thought there was an implication that he had made them- His relationship then isn't one of a father to sons, but of a creator about his creations, which IS different. It's why he's as willing to literally throw them at you in combat and, simultaneously, seemingly instinctively, puts a hand out in front of himself to protect them when the final attack is coming- even if they are tools to some degree, he MADE them what they are and he's PROUD of that- He doesn't want to see his work destroyed
Obviously this gets increasingly more complicated if you believe that 1010 gain sapience of some degree, but I still think the relationship isn't quite what I'd call fatherhood. He is simultaneously all the family they have and deeply, inherently unlike them- yet there is undeniably pieces of him and influences from him present in them, because every creation will reflect its creator in some way, in ways they can't even predict
Then, y'know, yeah, it's being a manager time. Ultimately he's gotta organize them and tell them what to do- how he feels about that could be a variety of ways, but he is doing it nonetheless, so something about it matters to him as well- likely the vow to serve the city thing, if leading a boyband is the way to ensure the lights stay on, then he's going to do it 'till his heart gives out.
To start, I do think you're getting a little caught up in the semantics of the poll, but since you're making the case that "creator" is different from "father," I'll hear you out.
And tbh, I really like that interpretation. It's a little more nuanced from what I'm used to seeing, and it is giving me something to sink my teeth into.
Tumblr media
I do differ in that I don't think Neon J. personally made the toys or the base 1010: I felt like the implication of the MKI - MKIII standee was that 1010 has actually been around since the wartime era, since MKI 1010 are build more similarly to the recycled battlebots in the Metro Division. Parallel to that, I think it's implied that Neon J. is a cyborg due to suffering injuries in the war. Since they appeared to exist at the same time, it seemed more likely to me that 1010 and NJ's body originated from the same source, but not that NJ was necessarily the direct creator of either them or the toys. (Though, I will admit that knowing that the toy company is called "J-1" does imply that he has something to do with it. But to rectify that, I'm gonna say that he just bought out the company/factory, but he didn't start them.)
But that's just an argument of history. Both interpretations can still lead to the "creator" theory in the sense that NJ still views 1010 impersonally, but still fondly. Even if he didn't make the base, he still turned them into what they are today, which is still a lot of hard work and dedication to the craft.
It's not making him out to be this overly sentimental guy (which is ultimately what I dislike about most "father first" interpretations), but he's also not heartless, and I like that. It's retaining what many interpretations (including mine, sadly) sometimes miss out on, and that's that he's an artist, just like all the other stars. He values his craft, and 1010 are the result of that, for better or worse.
