OC time! Keres!
Tumblr media
First OC I'm gonna share for Fusionverse! He's an Ink and Killer fusion
Design notes:
His soul and eyelight changes colors and shapes according to his emotions, his tears only change color
He wears a gas mask around his neck that he uses when he spray paints
His soul is floating outside of his ribcage
His blush is a reddish rainbow and his ecto is clear with a hint of color of the current emotion
He Has spray paint cans attached to his belt and inside of his coat
His clothes are constantly dirty with paint
Character notes:
He's pretty chaotic and active
He loves to spray paint, but also enjoys other forms of art
He's a bit flirty
Likes jokes and pranking people, often teams up with Jinx to do that
He's agile, flexible and quick
Please reblog <3

Number systems in the world's languages
Here’s a neat site all about the richness and diversity of numbering systems in the world’s languages!
Here's one example from the site:
Keresan
Keresan, or Keres, is a Native American language, spoken in New Mexico by the Keres Pueblo people, with seven Pueblos and as many dialects: the Cochiti Pueblo (Kotyit dialect), the San Felipe Pueblo (Katishtya dialect), the Kewa Pueblo (Kewa dialect), the Zia Pueblo (Tsiʼya dialect), the Santa Ana Pueblo (Tamaiya dialect), the Acoma Pueblo (Áakʼu dialect), and the Laguna Pueblo (Kawaika dialect). It is a language isolate family by itself, even though it can be separated in two dialect groups: the Western Keres (spoken by the Acoma and Laguna Pueblos), and the Eastern Keres, spoken by the rest of the Pueblos, and used on this page. The most geographically distant dialects (Acoma and Cochiti) are not mutually intelligible.

Ferya
İnan kaç kere denedim
Sensiz yaşanmıyor Ferya!
Zehir içtim, zehir yedim
Sensiz yaşanmıyor Ferya!
Mor bir düşün ardı sıra
Koştum durdum ara sıra
Dert yandım soğuk hasır'a
Sensiz yaşanmıyor Ferya!
Aklım sağır, fikrim sağır
Duygum yüreğime ağır
Beni bir umuda çağır
Sensiz yaşanmıyor Ferya!
Kuşum, kafeste yaralı
Kalbinde neşter sıralı...
Bir kapı olsun aralı
Sensiz yaşanmıyor Ferya!
Ruhumda bir acı uyur
Bir gece acıma buyur
Rüsva et, aleme duyur
Sensiz yaşanmıyor Ferya!
Han istemem, san istemem
Kimseden ihsan istemem
Ahrazım! Lisan istemem
Sensiz yaşanmıyor Ferya!

Illustrations of 19th-century kachina dolls, representing powerful spirits of the dead that brought rain and helped the living (Original illustrations from Dolls of the Tusayan Indians by Jesse Walter Fewkes, 1894)
kachina (cachina, kacina, katchina, katcina, katsina) Hopi, Keres, Tewa, Zuni Powerful spirits of the dead that mediate between the human and spiritual worlds and possess the power to bring rain and affect fertility and growth. Kachinas can be male or female and come in many forms: animals, birds, plants, qualities, ogres, demons, and clowns. The term kachina is Hopi but has come to be applied generally among the Pueblo people to any masked figure.  In Hopi tradition, people who have lived properly become kachinas after death. Hopi kachinas were said to live in the San Francisco Mountains near Flagstaff, Arizona, where they remained for part of the year. Around the time of the winter solstice in December, the kachinas began to visit the pueblos to dance and sing for the people in order to summon the “cloud fathers” from the six directions and bring rain. In mid-July, after the summer solstice, the kachinas returned to their home. According to the Hopi, long ago, the kachinas came to the pueblos themselves. Now they come no longer, and kachina dancers wearing elaborately painted masks and costumes must impersonate them in ceremonial performances. When the kachina impersonator puts on a mask and costume, that person is believed to become the kachina that is being represented. There are several hundred different Hopi kachinas, each of which is named and has a distinctive mask and costume. Kachinas are of two types: the chief or official kachina (Mon, Mong, or Mongwi) and the ordinary kachina. The chief kachinas play principal roles in the major ceremonies and dance individually, never in groups. Ordinary kachinas dance in groups. According to Zuni myth, Ahayuta and Matsilema, the Zuni warrior twins, acquired the power to bring rain by stealing the rainmaking tools of the Saiyathlia, kachina warriors. In addition to  bringing rain, Zuni kachinas are credited with the ability to increase crops and livestock, ripen corn, and bring game. Most of the Zuni kachinas were said to live in a village under a lake, Kolhu/Wala-wa, called Kachina Village by non-Zuni. Their chief, Pautiwa, directed all their activities. When the kachinas were called for, Pautiwa decided which kachinas would go. Kachinas who lived in other villages were not under Pautiwa’s control. For example, the Kanaakwe, a group of kachinas believed to live south of Zuni Pueblo, were the enemies of the kachinas who lived in Kachina Village. According to Zuni tradition, both groups hunted in the same areas. The Kanaakwe decided to hide the Deer from the other kachinas, who then challenged the Kanaakwe to a fight. The Kanaakwe won, giving them the right to the deer. As a result, the Kanaakwe supplied deer to the Zuni people, while the other kachinas brought corn, seeds, and other gifts. The Acoma emergence and migration account relates how the warrior twins Masewa and Uyuyewa prepared the people for the arrival of the kachinas after the emergence into the present world. The story describes how the people insulted the kachinas, how the people and the kachinas did battle, and how the people learned to call the kachinas by impersonating them.

Story of Native American Culture And Jewelry
Tumblr media
According to the early European American scholars, Native America was dominated by different clans and tribes. America was home to many different tribes, beliefs, and cultures. During the time, native people traded the food, crafts, fur for the blankets, iron and steel implements, trinkets, firearms etc. with the European explorers and migrants, and they continuously evolved according to the changing circumstances.
Origins of Native American Jewelry
Native Americans were always fond of arts and crafts. During the Neolithic period (7,000 B.C. to 1,000 B.C), Paleo-Indians dug and found multi-color stones in Southwest America. They transformed them into beautiful beads and shells and later they started making jewelry from those beads and shells. They mainly used turquoise, coral and shell to make the jewelry.
Tumblr media
Types of Native American Jewelry by Tribe
Zuni
The word Zuni which means beauty is believed to derive from the Western Keres language (Acoma) word sɨ̂‧ni, or a cognate thereof. The Zuni clan is a creative clan. Traditionally, Zuni women made pottery for storing food and water and crafted their clan symbols and designs on the pottery. They made fetish (small idols of animals) and necklaces from stones, mainly turquoise. With time, Zuni became a master stone-cutter. Zuni artisans have familiarized themselves with materials available from all parts of the world.
Navajo
The word “Navajo” comes from Spanish missionaries and historians who referred to the Pueblo Indians through this term.  They started working on silver in the 19th century. Atsidi Sani was the first Navajo silversmith. In the early century, Navajos used to make jewelry with stones but later in the 19th century, they started creating jewelry of silver and turquoise. Navajo jewelry is famous for large turquoise stones and big, heavy silver.
Hopi
According to the Hopi Dictionary, the primary meaning of the word "Hopi" is "behaving one". They considered themselves as well mannered, civilized, peaceable, and polite. Charles Loloma was the first Hopi who made jewelry of gold and multiple stones together. It totally transformed the Hopi jewelry and gave it a completely new look. They are famous for their Kachina dolls and designs of fine jewelry, specially sterling silver jewelry.
Kewa Pueblo
In the early century, Kewa Pueblo people were known as Santo Domingo. They are mainly known for their heishi necklaces.Pottery is an important art form and utilitarian craft from Kewa Pueblo. Kewa Pueblo jewelers are also known for creating pieces with mosaic inlay on shell or bone. They made beautiful and colorful necklaces which were mistakenly identified as “Depression Jewelry”. Kewa jewelers are still making these necklaces in large numbers.
Apache
Apache are distant cousins of Navajo. Before migrating to the southwest, they used to live together. Apache made buckskin shirts, ponchos, skirts and moccasins and decorated them with colorful beadwork. They were known for their beadwork. Both Apache men and women were fond of jewelry. They wore a variety of jewelry made with strung beads of shell and turquoise. A number of necklaces were worn by the apache women simultaneously. They usually used traditional color combinations such as black and white, red and yellow, or pale blue and dark blue. San Carlos Apache jewelers are popular for their jewelry of peridot, green gemstones, necklaces and other jewelry.
Native American Art
Native American were also known for their art and craft work. Three popular arts include  painting, basketry, textiles, or photography, as well as monumental works, such as architecture, land art, and public sculpture. Native American ceramic artwork is a popular artform. In the early 1900s, Maria Martinez and her husband Jilian started making traditional black-on-black pottery, later for which San Ildefonso Pueblo became widely known. Ceramics are used for serving and storage vessels, utilitarian cooking vessels, pipes, funerary urns, censers, musical instruments, ceremonial items, masks, toys, sculptures, and a myriad of other art forms. Some of the ancient art work was similar to the western art form. Since the early 1900s, Native American art has had a complicated history with museum representation. The Exposition of Indian Tribal Arts was the first show which held native American art on display on a wide scale. They displayed their art until the 1960s.

Hello there mutual 👀 may i yeet you these kids and ask what would Hana think about them?
// UWAAAAAA- THEY'RE SO PRETTY,,, ಥ‿ಥ *SHAKES MY CAGE*
Tumblr media
Thoughts on Keres
Okay Okay, Hana definitely calls Keres "Perrault-Senpai" but slowly ends up calling her "Ceri-chan" if the formalities are too much hahha-
Petition for Hana to have consent to call her "Cherry"-/hj
Hana probably first sees Keres at the dorm campus first, then the second time is at the Monstro Lounge where she works at- Hana visits Azul once in a while to give him bentos or to check up on Cath{Octavinelle OC}-
Hana low-key admires Keres by how sophisticating her character is; Keres can remember all the Queen of Hearts' rules yet still holds a loving charisma,,,
Hana is most likely the listener out of the two, she would love to listen to Keres' talks whenever she has the time,,,
Hana would eventually get the habit of giving Ceri some extra samples of her baking that has red berries whenever she sees her if she wants- Having a new taste-tester or two would be splendid!
Thoughts on Wyn
Hana would call Wyn "Hare-san" but would slowly start calling him "Wynie" or "Mr. White Rabbit" (In an affectionate manner- I'm sorry, you'll have to convince her to stop calling that somehow- X'3)
Hana most likely gets along with very punctual people--- she doesn't like to stay behind the schedules either.
Hana takes a moment for her to remember all her dormmates' faces as a 2nd year- she would pretty much miss other faces if some dorm mates don't often stay in the same hour as her-
but thanks to Kitty(Scarabia OC who is the same club as Wyn), Hana pretty much hears about Wyn by how Kitty likes to ramble about her fellow club members positively and gushing at them---
Both Wyn and Hana are timid duo- Hana may not be much of a verbal talker at first but wouldn't be afraid to start small conversations through her letters or messages on a notebook (she's a fast, neat cursive writer, trust me-)
I can see Hana going to check on Kitty's club to get her extra bottles of water for her and her friends she heard of from Kitty after her Psychology club meeting- So she would most likely see Wyn once in a while and randomly give him an apple- Not poisonous like in the fairytales ofc, she literally grows an apple tree somewhere and washes the apples very clean- x'3c
Thoughts on Both of them
HANA ALWAYS REMEMBERS HER DORM MATES' NAMES ONCE SHE FIRST HEARS ABOUT THEM- Even if she doesn't spend much time with certain ones-
It's one sign that the first thing she knows which dorm she now belongs in, she then cares about her dorm mates like a second family even if she doesn't openly show that,,, 🥺
She's unexpectedly older than she seems, like Lilia, but she still treats people of all ages as if they're a big deal-
(let her know if the treatment is too much hdhfbfb-)
Hana sadly won't see them often as she has a very different schedule and often finds herself in the library, her bedroom, or under a tree beating up books most of the days rjrjjr- 😔
P.S.// I might draw fanart bc I think I fall in love at first sight at the designs djdnfnndn-
