Here’s a neat site all about the richness and diversity of numbering systems in the world’s languages!
Here's one example from the site:
Keresan
Keresan, or Keres, is a Native American language, spoken in New Mexico by the Keres Pueblo people, with seven Pueblos and as many dialects: the Cochiti Pueblo (Kotyit dialect), the San Felipe Pueblo (Katishtya dialect), the Kewa Pueblo (Kewa dialect), the Zia Pueblo (Tsiʼya dialect), the Santa Ana Pueblo (Tamaiya dialect), the Acoma Pueblo (Áakʼu dialect), and the Laguna Pueblo (Kawaika dialect). It is a language isolate family by itself, even though it can be separated in two dialect groups: the Western Keres (spoken by the Acoma and Laguna Pueblos), and the Eastern Keres, spoken by the rest of the Pueblos, and used on this page. The most geographically distant dialects (Acoma and Cochiti) are not mutually intelligible.

Im having a slight fixation switch and I think it's because idk who else to draw for the cyber au sooo yah an undertale au that i made a long time ago and just re-drew the character that took that place of sans...kinda-
His lore is confusing and I'll probably only explain it when I either decide to draw more into the au or people ask...plus I have no name for this au yet despite it being in existence for a long time

Illustrations of 19th-century kachina dolls, representing powerful spirits of the dead that brought rain and helped the living (Original illustrations from Dolls of the Tusayan Indians by Jesse Walter Fewkes, 1894)
kachina (cachina, kacina, katchina, katcina, katsina) Hopi, Keres, Tewa, Zuni Powerful spirits of the dead that mediate between the human and spiritual worlds and possess the power to bring rain and affect fertility and growth. Kachinas can be male or female and come in many forms: animals, birds, plants, qualities, ogres, demons, and clowns. The term kachina is Hopi but has come to be applied generally among the Pueblo people to any masked figure. In Hopi tradition, people who have lived properly become kachinas after death. Hopi kachinas were said to live in the San Francisco Mountains near Flagstaff, Arizona, where they remained for part of the year. Around the time of the winter solstice in December, the kachinas began to visit the pueblos to dance and sing for the people in order to summon the “cloud fathers” from the six directions and bring rain. In mid-July, after the summer solstice, the kachinas returned to their home. According to the Hopi, long ago, the kachinas came to the pueblos themselves. Now they come no longer, and kachina dancers wearing elaborately painted masks and costumes must impersonate them in ceremonial performances. When the kachina impersonator puts on a mask and costume, that person is believed to become the kachina that is being represented. There are several hundred different Hopi kachinas, each of which is named and has a distinctive mask and costume. Kachinas are of two types: the chief or official kachina (Mon, Mong, or Mongwi) and the ordinary kachina. The chief kachinas play principal roles in the major ceremonies and dance individually, never in groups. Ordinary kachinas dance in groups. According to Zuni myth, Ahayuta and Matsilema, the Zuni warrior twins, acquired the power to bring rain by stealing the rainmaking tools of the Saiyathlia, kachina warriors. In addition to bringing rain, Zuni kachinas are credited with the ability to increase crops and livestock, ripen corn, and bring game. Most of the Zuni kachinas were said to live in a village under a lake, Kolhu/Wala-wa, called Kachina Village by non-Zuni. Their chief, Pautiwa, directed all their activities. When the kachinas were called for, Pautiwa decided which kachinas would go. Kachinas who lived in other villages were not under Pautiwa’s control. For example, the Kanaakwe, a group of kachinas believed to live south of Zuni Pueblo, were the enemies of the kachinas who lived in Kachina Village. According to Zuni tradition, both groups hunted in the same areas. The Kanaakwe decided to hide the Deer from the other kachinas, who then challenged the Kanaakwe to a fight. The Kanaakwe won, giving them the right to the deer. As a result, the Kanaakwe supplied deer to the Zuni people, while the other kachinas brought corn, seeds, and other gifts. The Acoma emergence and migration account relates how the warrior twins Masewa and Uyuyewa prepared the people for the arrival of the kachinas after the emergence into the present world. The story describes how the people insulted the kachinas, how the people and the kachinas did battle, and how the people learned to call the kachinas by impersonating them.

Hello there mutual 👀 may i yeet you these kids and ask what would Hana think about them?
// UWAAAAAA- THEY'RE SO PRETTY,,, ಥ‿ಥ *SHAKES MY CAGE*
Thoughts on Keres
Okay Okay, Hana definitely calls Keres "Perrault-Senpai" but slowly ends up calling her "Ceri-chan" if the formalities are too much hahha-
Petition for Hana to have consent to call her "Cherry"-/hj
Hana probably first sees Keres at the dorm campus first, then the second time is at the Monstro Lounge where she works at- Hana visits Azul once in a while to give him bentos or to check up on Cath{Octavinelle OC}-
Hana low-key admires Keres by how sophisticating her character is; Keres can remember all the Queen of Hearts' rules yet still holds a loving charisma,,,
Hana is most likely the listener out of the two, she would love to listen to Keres' talks whenever she has the time,,,
Hana would eventually get the habit of giving Ceri some extra samples of her baking that has red berries whenever she sees her if she wants- Having a new taste-tester or two would be splendid!
Thoughts on Wyn
Hana would call Wyn "Hare-san" but would slowly start calling him "Wynie" or "Mr. White Rabbit" (In an affectionate manner- I'm sorry, you'll have to convince her to stop calling that somehow- X'3)
Hana most likely gets along with very punctual people--- she doesn't like to stay behind the schedules either.
Hana takes a moment for her to remember all her dormmates' faces as a 2nd year- she would pretty much miss other faces if some dorm mates don't often stay in the same hour as her-
but thanks to Kitty(Scarabia OC who is the same club as Wyn), Hana pretty much hears about Wyn by how Kitty likes to ramble about her fellow club members positively and gushing at them---
Both Wyn and Hana are timid duo- Hana may not be much of a verbal talker at first but wouldn't be afraid to start small conversations through her letters or messages on a notebook (she's a fast, neat cursive writer, trust me-)
I can see Hana going to check on Kitty's club to get her extra bottles of water for her and her friends she heard of from Kitty after her Psychology club meeting- So she would most likely see Wyn once in a while and randomly give him an apple- Not poisonous like in the fairytales ofc, she literally grows an apple tree somewhere and washes the apples very clean- x'3c
Thoughts on Both of them
HANA ALWAYS REMEMBERS HER DORM MATES' NAMES ONCE SHE FIRST HEARS ABOUT THEM- Even if she doesn't spend much time with certain ones-
It's one sign that the first thing she knows which dorm she now belongs in, she then cares about her dorm mates like a second family even if she doesn't openly show that,,, 🥺
She's unexpectedly older than she seems, like Lilia, but she still treats people of all ages as if they're a big deal-
(let her know if the treatment is too much hdhfbfb-)
Hana sadly won't see them often as she has a very different schedule and often finds herself in the library, her bedroom, or under a tree beating up books most of the days rjrjjr- 😔
P.S.// I might draw fanart bc I think I fall in love at first sight at the designs djdnfnndn-
First of all...does anyone have any money? I feel like...things aren't selling out as fast as they should....
Kering offering a warning of between 40-45% drop for Q1 profits because of the lack of success of Gucci and weak demand in China - but also mentioning that Sabato's collection is not fully in stores yet (via Lauren Sherman)
"Wines & Spirits business group saw a revenue decline (-12% organic) in the first quarter of 2024. Champagne was down, reflecting the normalization of post-Covid demand." - LVMH. Does this reflect non-alcoholic change or more health focused population??
NTS (and I love you, NTS) had their first Rush party at Ministry of Sound on Saturday and it was not as full as it should have been (1/3 cap filled?). Maybe wrong club, could have been done at Venue MOT over 2 days... I see what they were doing though as London lacks venues that are comfortable for potential 1k people.
Ministry is the only club where you can buy shots from two hosts with a contactless holder and another holding a LED tray full of shots, and also the women's bathroom has hair straighteners.
What it means to have a house now:
At Salone di Milano this year, IKEA are presenting "1st" which is an interactive maze that explores the feelings of moving into your 1st home.
youtube
Alongside this, they created a zine in collaboration with Dazed, and other creators around the concept of home.
The concept of home is such an interesting one considering the statistics of today where landlords demand that the house must be in their image of white walls and no marks left and that for some stable housing is out of reach (...at least for a while)
"The Resolution Foundation think tank recently said that the most common living arrangement for an adult aged between 18 and 34 in 1997 was being in a couple with children, but now it was living with your parents." - from "First-time buyers face toughest test for 70 years" on BBC.
What does is mean if you are forced to delay this quite important life stage because of money? How does one manifest other ways of self definition within the self if you're not able to customise your shelter or showcase parts of yourself to the extremes that you want? Does the body become a place of extremities or site of customisation as a way to claw back autonomy over one's life... slightly exaggerated but maybe? But this delay means that when people do finally get stable housing they are forging their own way and own style, which loops back into the idea of prioritising your personal style in a genuine way.

Went to a trend forum last week about beauty and here are my three related thoughts:
People are using hyperspecific ways of categorising self as a way of expressing loss of subculture - ie "get ready with me as I pretend I'm the girlfriend of a Italian rockstar". There's a massive fear of vulnerability or - the theme of the forum was "Fantasy" so you can bring this back to the idea of the internet being a place of fantasy for people especially people who suffer from discrimination IRL - (Black, POC, LGBTQIA+, disabled etc). Real life is unpredictable, messy. Also cities/urban landscapes being hard to penetrate socially.
Unrelated but being authentically cool is unattainable so I will be cool by copying you :) >>> the search for authentic artists right now

Lack of subculture > cycling through identities > sustainability issues > encouraging a build a bear personality > sense of self > spirituality
Best Coachella set design:
I would say, Lana Del Rey + Tyler The Creator are the two standouts.
How to age well!
Age is just a number!
"Branded HUN80 beer, energy drinks, water, and mezcal shots in commemorative glasses—“hun” is the nickname Rick has for Michèle—kept the vibe up. Just after 1 AM the food truck serving scrambled eggs and caviar sandwiches turned up to quell the crowd’s urges. At around 3 AM, after ringleading the posing and vamping from the stage, the artist Gena Marvin assumed her position on a go-go platform, her body twisting and thrashing so glamorously and sensually some of the audience just stood in awe."
Relating this back to British Food culture - a few years ago I went to this talk that Eater London put on at the Ace Hotel Shoreditch where the panellists and editors were seeking to define modern British food (in the context of restaurants). They mostly came to the conclusion that is was "the use of high quality British produce". (Alongside the question of how does this country democratise this and work with farmers to make affordable? Over the next few decades as probably the most health conscious generations grow up (Gen X, Millennials, Gen Z and Alpha), British food and exercise culture will redefine itself as we see the effects of lack of gym culture (really as an extension of body negativity), lack of knowledge and food skill and diet manifest in older generations.
Or possibly you can teach an old dog new tricks?
This relates to new life stages: This year the London Marathon has had a record of over 50k people participating and finishing. Even billionaire Jim Radcliffe who is 71 ran, finishing after 4h30m then going on to Wembley to watch the FA Cup Finals with his team Man U.
Could we see a major mindset change regarding older age in this country? Young people being less embarrassed that their mum did something like dye their hair; or an extension of the middle age where people treat it as a stage for optimisation, for producing the best work rather than when you're young and exciting (and a little naive).
People want to feel accomplished even if they haven't reached traditional markers of being married or having a house or having a baby. Their social life could technically be a mess and there can be a cost of living crisis but they can still run and achieve something, or improve their fitness.
