Do you have any thoughts on the whole Nephelle philosophy drama? (For context, this art piece used a quote about Nephelle and for some reason a certain fandom is mad about it. Apparently, it obviously refers to Elain, and since Gwyn wasn't even ACOWAR, it's a huge issue. As far as I remember, it was a conversation between Azriel and Feyre.)

Well, since the philosophy is literally Azriel telling the story of Nephelle's epic flight with her too-small wings... it's about Nephelle. He wasn't thinking about Elain when he was saying it; he was telling the story to motivate Feyre who was struggling during their flying lessons. Azriel mentions that it was Rhys who first told him the story regarding Nephelle's heroic act:

They also forget it's technically called "THE NEPHELLE PHILOSOPHY" It's a story with a meaning that could be attributed and/or applied to many players in the war with Hybern at the end of ACOWAR. Feyre, who was once human and became the one to repair the Cauldron. Elain *did* stab Hybern. Nesta was also once human and played a large role in ending Hybern. But as far as it being about a specific person? Absolutely not.

Hi, your Pike posts got me interested in Strange New Worlds, it looks good, but I have a question - do I have to watch Star Trek Discovery to watch this show? I saw TOS.

It is SO GOOD INDEED, as far as I know it's the best rated Star Trek series EVER! It's brilliant, beautifully written and gives off that TOS vibe , that is discovering another worlds and beauty in humanity! Quintessential Star Trek.

I don't remember falling in love with EACH character so quickly! It's a masterpiece of Star Trek's legacy and makes me feel even prouder to be A Trekkie!

When it comes to catching up, you don't really have to watch Discovery first. Whereas TOS will give you a general idea of *sobs a bit* Pike's fate(being disabled in the end); Discovery explains HOW it actually happened(the accident) and why Strange New Worlds's Pike struggles so much.

Pike appeared only in season 2, and I dare to say that's what SAVED this series, truly. I would recommend You to watch Discovery s2 if you want to have a bigger picture and because Pike is SO MUCH WORTH IT. He stole each scene and his positivity which influenced the crew, had the same impact on the whole fandom! He also appeared in several Short Treks (mini Spin off episodes) and he makes everything so MUCH BETTER when he's around!

I also watched TOS, which got me into the fandom so it will help you find your feet in Strange New Worlds.

The series includes a few flashbacks from Discovery and the plot (what Happened to Pike in Disco s2) is well explained to audiences who haven't seen Disco, so no worries!

I can wholeheartedly recommend it, but you can as well Start off with Strange New Worlds, which is, as I fairly believe, the best Star Trek series so far!
