This is THE video for anyone looking for a comprehensive and thorough way to outline your book! Kat goes chapter by chapter with the beats you need to hit, and also gives an example from her own story, which really helps you understand! If you watch only one video from this blog, it should be this one! Reposting this because it's SO GOOD

Using the 3-Act, 9-Block, 27-Chapter Outline
I started out with a 3-Act story structure. It was fine and all, but it didn't give enough direction for me. Fortunately, after watching writer videos on YouTube, someone mentioned the 3-Act, 9-Block, 27-Chapter book structure and credited it to Kat O’Keeffe (Katytastic on YouTube). So, after watching her videos, I downloaded her outline and started using it.
YouTube really helped me to outline my book because I used Abbie Emmons character and plot outlines and Kat O'Keeffe's 27-Chapter book outline. So, thank you ladies for sharing your knowledge!

For the ask game❤️ 11, 29, and 30💖💖
11. What punctuation do you love too much?
I have so so stinkin many that I use way too often but I would have to say the big one is that i went the way of Sarah J Maas and I use - sosososo much. Grammarly also tells me I have a lot of love for Commas
29. How do you plot your stories?
This is something i've actually been like- working on. For the longest time I was a pantser. Plotting had no place in my life. We lived and died by the keyboard. What happened happened. Then I started like- pantsing the first half of the story and then I would start like- writing out really little chapter summaries so I would know where I was going. Then, on this latest story, Fear of Motion- I (Mostly) plotted it out ahead of time (I think I had the first like two chapters written) using Katytastic on youtube's 3 act, 3 block, 27 chapter story structure and like- I kind of love it? I'm not overly plotted, but I know what is happening in each chapter, I don't have to sit down and figure it out- i've already got it and I can just let the words flow.
30. How do you edit your stories?
hehehehe I don't. Okay that's not entirely true. So for fanfiction, i don't do a ton of it. I do have Grammarly enabled on my google docs, I read things over. But in general I don't do rough drafts and several passes. It's fanfiction I do it for fun. For original fiction- this is something i'm working on actually. I like- finished a book a few years ago for Nano and I had it printed and everything and I'm ready for draft two but I think it's going to just be a complete rewrite. So I guess my answer is- Grammarly fixing my public school education and reading things over to catch any glaring mistakes.

Okay, so I hate how I look in these pictures, but I finally went to my first real book event!! And it was to celebrate Christine and her debut novel, Again, But Better! Plus I got to meet Kat, who is the first booktuber I ever watched, and also Ellias and Kav!
It was so much fun! Kat did a great job moderating and after hearing them both talk about the book I am even more excited to read it. Not to mention all of them are so NICE. Like, Kat, Ellias, and Kav talked with me and my friend for so long! We stayed until passed closing talking with them! And we were the only ones, lol. I kept waiting for them to be like “ok, well, it was nice meeting you” and to walk away 🤣 They were also really encouraging about me starting up my booktube channel again. I am definitely more motivated!
All in all it was just really great to be around people who understand my love for books. And I am so happy it was an experience that I got to share with my best friend! I am the one that introduced her to booktube and books are one of the things we bonded over when we met (and the Jonas Brothers lol) so it’s really wonderful to have these memories together. I hope in the future I will be able to meet all four of them again because they are amazing human beings 💜

nanowrimo prep #1
It’s October 6th; the beginning of spooky month! However, that means nanowrimo is coming up soon! Sooner than you think! I’ve decided this year to update something - that means you tumblr blog I almost forgot I had - to hold myself more accountable for the upcoming nanowrimo. Maybe it’ll help me, maybe not.
So, I’ve just now started my in depth planning on my nano novel this year after binge watching Katytastic’s youtube vlogs. Watch them, they’re amazing and so motivating... well at least for me they were. I’m actually planning an outline! Yay! Well, more of an outline that I have. Before watching her stuff, I had 4 chapters planned out with no real idea where the novel was going, but now I’m reworking things and everything’s getting shifted around! It’s crazy!
Anyway, this is day one of planning. The day is still young (because it literally turned into the 6th 20 min ago), so maybe I can finish a rough rough rough draft of the outline by the 7th! We’ll see!

All the questions ending in 8!
Oh, fun!
8: Why are you reading the book you're currently reading?
I’m currently reading three books. The first is Another Day by David Levithan. I started Every Day so that I could read it before the movie, and while I didn’t love it, I’m hoping Another Day will make me like the series and characters a little more. I’m also reading Maybe Now by Colleen Hoover (she’s publishing it as she writes it on Wattpad). I loved Maybe Someday and I was so excited to hear she’s working on a sequel, so I immediately started reading. Lastly, I’m reading Acephalous by Amanda Marsico. She sent me a copy in exchange for an honest review, and I liked the premise.
18: Favorite booktuber(s)
I watch a lot of booktube. I think my favorite booktubers would have to be booksplosian (Katytastic, JesseTheReader, and PolandBananasBooks), Margot Wood (originally from Epic Reads) and abookutopia. Although I really love a lot of smaller booktubers, one of my favorites being Peter Likes Books.
28: An ending you wish you could change
I don’t want to go into details (because spoilers) but I really want to change the ending to Allegiant. Yes, I know this is old news, but the ending to Allegiant (and Allegiant as a whole) still annoys me.
38: What qualities do you find annoying in a character?
There are a few things. I hate when characters are overly dependent on their love interest (unless they grow as a person later on) or when they’re too forgiving of their love interests mistakes. It also really bothers me when a character is extremely indecisive and makes really stupid decisions (yes, I’m talking about America Singer).
Thank you for sending me the ask! I’m bored at work and this made my day 100x better!
Send Me A Bookish Ask! (please)
