Time to make some proper profiles for the ygo ocs! So, we'll start off with Kat!
Tumblr media
Name: Katherine Grace Mercer. Nicknames: Kat, Kit-Kat, Kitty-Kat, Kitty Girl (by Max), Kitty (by Cecelia), Katie (by Wes and Mason), Katiedid (by Mason). Aliases: Kat Pegasus. Nationality: American. Birthplace: Creightonsville, Tennessee. Age: 16-17 years old. Birthday: May 9th. Gender: Cis female; she/her pronouns. Sexuality: Pansexual. Occupation: Professional Duelist, Domino High Student (after moving to Domino), Vice President of Industrial Illusions. Ideal V.A,: Megan Hilty.
Hair Color: Brown. Hair Style: Long, mid back length, very floofy and with tons of volume, very thick. Has some natural wave to it. Bangs part at the center and frame her face. Eye Color: Green. Skintone: Fair, with warm undertones. Height: 5'6". Build: More of a triangular body shape with lean muscle in her arms and legs. Notable Features: Splatter of freckles across her cheeks, nose, shoulders, arms and chest; nostril piercing on her right nostril and pierced ears; small scar on the side of her head from an incident when she was a child (her hair for the most part now covers it up and she uses the ribbon in her hair to help). Outfits: Full guide can be found here. Accessories: With every outfit, she wears the ribbon in her hair and the gold heart locket with roses that Cecelia gifted her. She typically wears other accessories, i.e. chokers, rings, bracelets, etc, that are more customized to every outfit!
Overall Personality: Very competitive and passionate about whatever she throws herself into, and especially Duel Monsters. Really plays up the big bubbly, excitable and determined personality, especially out in public, she can't let it be known that anything bothers her. Is a very quick thinker and loves getting to strategize and piece things together for herself. Very loving and kind, especially to those she truly values as part of her life and would literally do anything for those she cares about or for people in need, though this self sacrificing nature can also be equally as self destructive for herself. She's also incredibly stubborn and doesn't give up on the matters she sees as worth it. Has a harder time being truly vulnerable around people; hates anyone seeing her cry or letting people know that they've gotten to her. Is definitely a little feisty when she wants to be. Dramatic as hell. Hobbies: Baking cookies, playing Duel Monsters, DND and other TTRPGs, streaming video games, doing tiktok trends, singing along to the radio, shopping, horseback riding. Likes: Dolly Parton, magical girl shows, squishmallows, Sanrio, Funny Bunny, quality time with her family and her dog, bingewatching shows for the millionth time, flower gardens. Dislikes: Core curriculum math, people who use their status to hurt others, low rise jeans, the paparazzi, getting lead in circles in a conversation, crowds, soap operas. Favorite Food: Medium-rare steak. Least Favorite Food: Anything with pumpkin.
Parents: Mason Mercer and Evangeline "Evie" Davenport-Mercer (deceased); Vance and Chelsea Griffin (godparents / adoptive parents). Sibling(s): Cecelia Pegasus (older sister; deceased), Maximillion Pegasus (brother-in-law/older brother figure), Maddox Griffin (godbrother / adoptive older brother). Extended Family: Wesley "Wes" Mercer (paternal uncle), Josie Mercer (paternal grandmother), Bo Mercer (paternal grandfather, deceased), Lilith and Robert Knighton (first cousins once removed, deceased; credit to @kohakuhime), Edith and Pierre Allard (first cousins once removed, also credit to Kohaku), Raphael Knighton (second cousin), Sonia and Julian Knighton (second cousins, deceased). Pet(s): Lola (German Sheperd; also an ESA and guard dog). Best Friend(s): Ellie Munroe (credit to Kohaku), Iris McGinnis, Ryou Bakura, Miho Nonaka, Tomoya Hanasaki. Love Interest(s): Bakura/Yami Bakura, Seto Kaiba.
Deck: Plant Types. Signature/Ace Card(s): Fallen Angel of Roses and Queen Angel of Roses
Backstory:
Born to an Olympic Equestrian and an actress.
Her older sister was diagnosed with her illness when Kat was about 3.
Grew up trying to keep her sisters spirits high and the two having this beautiful and inseparable bond with each other, especially in the face of their parents marriage troubles they did their best to keep from the girls, and their mothers narcissitic and controlling tendencies.
Grew up with her cousins whenever they got to visit and was especially close to her cousin, Sonia, they were best friends.
Played a very early, early prototype to Duel Monsters, before it was ever Duel Monsters, in the hospital rooms her sister frequented.
Lost a lot of her family within a year of each other; the Harmonia sinking, then Mason passing away in a car accident, then Cecelia and then Evangeline. Would be adopted by her godparents, who the will dictated were to take her in the event anything happened to her parents; the agreement was decided as the best move by both them, Maximillion and Wes.
Moved to San Francisco with her godparents, Maddox, her nieces and Max when Industrial Illusions properly started up.
Got to beta test Duel Monsters for her big brother and competed and won in the very first tournament.
Continued the tournament circuit, making time for her family as much as she could.
Met Kaiba at a tournament and they quickly became dedicated rivals and her goal has been to beat him some day, as he was the only person she had never beaten before.
Is with Max when he gets the news that Kaiba has been defeated and she's more upset that somebody beat him before she did than anything else; though, there is definitely quite a bit of surprise when she goes to try and figure out who this Yugi kid is and finds he himself has an Item like the one Max has as a fake eye.
Goes to Duelist Kingdom to watch, since she was barred from competing, and begins to uncover more than she could have ever imagined.

Mwc?
Ooh gosh, good question. I would say the Lestrange brothers, Bellatrix Lestrange, Ted Tonks, Arthur Weasley, Amelia Bones, Frank Longbottom, William Avery, Walden Macnair, Mary MacDonald, Marlene McKinnon, Kingsley Shacklebolt, Damocles Belby, and Katherine Allard are all on my most wanted list! Though if any of our players would like to chime in, they’re welcome to add their own suggestions below!

Kat,
Happy Christmas! Yes, I know I’ve packed a lot into this box. I hope you enjoy either way, though. I made the scarf myself, which can be used both as a scarf and to smack people in the face with. Co-worker tested, Tilden approved. The fudge just seemed like an appropriate gift-- homemade, of course, with my secret recipe. Okay, it’s just a bit of vanilla extract, but it sounds cooler if I call it a secret recipe. The flask, I should point out, is not full of holy water. But I thought it would be a double joke if you put pain potions in there. They really are kinda’ holy water in a way, aren’t they? Your new lunchbox also has some pain potions in it. Drop it off with me whenever, and I’ll make you lunch!
Happy Christmas, my dude. You’re one radass. Which I just realized looks super stupid when you right it out. Sounds better when I say it. What I’m trying to say is you’re a rad badass.
May your Yuletide be gay.
Lots of love,
             Tilden

Anything Else:
camille was born in france and stayed there until she was almost forty, while she was in university she met amelie, amelie very quickly became the love of her life, amelie was half french and half american and camille knew that she always had plans to go back to america and live there. camille tried her hardest not to fall for the other woman knowing that she would just be leaving her when they graduated, but she really did fall in love and she fell hard. during their christmas holidays, camille and amelie flew to america so camille could meet amelie’s family and while they were there, they were legally married in a court house and went back to university as wife and wife.
after graduating, camille and amelie decided together that they would stay in france for at least ten years, they were in the honeymoon phase and were still utterly devoted to one another. ten years went past insanely fast and they were finally thinking about whether they would move to america or not. they decided to wait a couple more years. many years passed and when the couple were getting closer to being in their forties, they decided it was finally the right time to move to america, specifically seattle. amelie’s mom was sick so they wanted to be there when the inevitable happened.
just before moving to seattle, amelie became pregnant via a sperm donor and the couple were absolutely elated and couldn’t wait to tell amelie’s parents when they arrived. by the time they left, she was four months pregnant, camille had never been so in love with her wife.
a week after moving to seattle, washington, the unimaginable happened and amelie died suddenly after tripping over something and hitting her head. camille was beyond distraught, amelie was the other half of her, she was her soulmate and she was just gone. they hadn’t had enough time together and not only did she lose amelie, she lost their baby too. the death of amelie and their unborn child sent camille into a downward spiral and she started going to her doctor and getting painkillers on prescription for alleged back pain when really she had just become addicted to them and needed to get a fix every now and again.
now, three years later, the pain of losing amelie is very much at the forefront of her mind every day and she has started taking the painkillers again whenever she needs to feel numb, which is more of less all the time. camille picked up a hr rep position at seattle grace and knows that working in a hospital probably isn’t her smartest idea but this was the hospital that amelie died in so somehow she felt a strange connection to the place. camille has regular flashbacks and they have worsened since being around the hospital where amelie died.

100 U.S. Representatives call on Biden Administration to stand with Artsakh Republic and Armenia

100 U.S. Representatives call on Biden Administration to stand with Artsakh Republic and Armenia
Tumblr media Tumblr media
One hundred Members of Congress – from more than twenty U.S. states – have called upon the Biden Administration to undertake concrete steps for Artsakh’s survival and Armenia’s security, in a bipartisan Armenian Caucus letter strongly supported by the Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA).
“The strong Congressional participation in the Armenian Caucus letter to the Biden Administration reflects and also powerfully reinforces growing bipartisan support for Artsakh among legislators from across America,” said ANCA Government Affairs Director Tereza Yerimyan. “We look forward to working with the leadership of the Caucus and each of our legislative friends to translate these pro-Armenian, pro-peace policy priorities into action.”
The letter, addressed to the Secretaries of State and Defense, underscoring the severity of the regional crisis caused by six weeks of unrelenting Azerbaijani and Turkish aggression last fall, proposes urgent action on the following U.S. policy priorities:
— U.S. emergency assistance that provides the people of Artsakh with the ability to reconstruct their communities and rebuild their lives without fear of further bloodshed.
— U.S. re-engagement in the search for an enduring regional settlement – based on the fundamental right of self-determination – that protects the security of Artsakh and helps to ensure another war does not break out.
— U.S. recognition of the right to self-determination for the people of Artsakh and their role as a legitimate negotiating party in resolving this conflict.
— U.S. leadership in securing the immediate release of Armenian prisoners
— U.S. accountability, including sanctions against high-ranking Azerbaijani and Turkish leaders, the withholding of U.S. aid to Baku, and ending the waiver of Section 907 of the Freedom Support Act.
— U.S. support for Armenia’s economic development and assistance to Armenians displaced by Azerbaijani aggression
— U.S. recognition of the Armenian Genocide by President Biden
The Armenian Caucus letter was spearheaded by its leadership, Reps. Frank Pallone (D-NJ), Gus Bilirakis (R-FL), Jackie Speier (D-CA), David Valadao (R-CA), and Adam Schiff (D-CA). Joining them in co-signing this bipartisan appeal were Representatives Jake Auchincloss (D-MA), Jim Banks (R-IN), Nanette Barragan (D-CA), Karen Bass (D-CA), Don Beyer (D-VA), Jamaal Bowman (D-NY), Brendan Boyle (D-PA), Julia Brownley (D-CA), Ken Calvert (R-CA), Salud Carbajal (D-CA), Tony Cardenas (D-CA), Judy Chu (D-CA), David Cicilline (D-RI), Katherine Clark (D-MA), Jim Costa (D-CA), Jason Crow (D-CO), Madeleine Dean (D-PA), Peter DeFazio (D-OR), Ted Deutch (D-FL), Mike Doyle (D-PA), Veronica Escobar (D-TX), Anna Eshoo (D-CA), Adriano Espaillat (D-NY), Dwight Evans (D-PA), Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA), John Garamendi (D-CA), Chuy Garcia (D-IL), Mike Garcia (R-CA), Jimmy Gomez (D-CA), Josh Gottheimer (D-NJ), Glenn Grothman (R-WI), Josh Harder (D-CA), Chrissy Houlahan (D-PA), Jared Huffman (D-CA), Darrell Issa (R-CA), Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX), Hank Johnson (D-GA), David Joyce (R-OH), Ro Khanna (D-CA), Dan Kildee (D-MI), Young Kim (R-CA), Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-IL), Doug LaMalfa (R-CA), James Langevin (D-RI), Brenda Lawrence (D-MI), Susie Lee (D-NV), Andy Levin (D-MI), Mike Levin (D-CA), Ted Lieu (D-CA), Zoe Lofgren (D-CA), Alan Lowenthal (D-CA), Stephen Lynch (D-MA), Carolyn Maloney (D-NY), Sean Patrick Maloney (D-NY), Brian Mast (R-FL), Tom McClintock (R-CA), Betty McCollum (D-MN), James McGovern (D-MA), Grace Meng (D-NY), Jerrold Nadler (D-NY), Grace Napolitano (D-CA), Richard Neal (D-MA), Joe Neguse (D-CO), Donald Norcross (D-NJ), Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC), Devin Nunes (R-CA), Jimmy Panetta (D-CA), Chris Pappas (D-NH), Kathleen Rice (D-NY), Lucille Roybal-Allard (D-CA), John Rutherford (R-FL), Linda Sanchez (D-CA), John Sarbanes (D-MD), Mary Gay Scanlon (D-PA), Janice Schakowsky (D-IL), Brad Schneider (D-IL), David Schweikert (R-AZ), Brad Sherman (D-CA), Albio Sires (D-NJ), Elissa Slotkin (D-MI), Christopher Smith (R-NJ), Michelle Steel (R-CA), Haley Stevens (D-MI), Tom Suozzi (D-NY), Mike Thompson (D-CA), Dina Titus (D-NV), Paul Tonko (D-NY), Lori Trahan (D-MA), David Trone (D-MD), Juan Vargas (D-CA), Nydia Velazquez (D-NY), Maxine Waters (D-CA), Bonnie Watson Coleman (D-NJ), Peter Welch (D-VT), and Susan Wild (D-PA).
The full text of the letter is provided below:
Dear Secretaries Blinken and Austin,
As bipartisan Members of Congress who are engaged in the US-Armenia relationship and interested in strengthening it, we write to offer our congratulations on your recent confirmations and to share a list of our bipartisan priorities we hope to work together on during the 117th Congress.
One of the most pressing issues for the Caucus and for the future of American foreign policy in the South Caucasus region is the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh). As you are aware, Azerbaijani and Turkish forces initiated an unprovoked attack on September 27, 2020, leading to six weeks of devastating fighting that killed an estimated 5,000 people and forced more than 100,000 ethnic Armenians to flee from the Karabakh region.
Azerbaijani forces were able to make rapid advances into the region with the aid of Turkish-backed foreign mercenaries, many alleged to have ties to internationally recognized terrorist groups, Bayraktar drones that utilize American components and technology, and heavy weaponry including the illegal use of cluster and white phosphorus munitions.
With the rising risk of a mass atrocity against thousands of Armenian civilians, Armenia agreed to a peace agreement brokered by Russia on November 10. This agreement brought an end to the fierce combat, but it has done little to address the immediate and significant problems of feeding, sheltering, and ensuring the safety of thousands of displaced families during the COVID-19 pandemic.
In violation of the ceasefire, Azerbaijan also refuses to free dozens of Armenian prisoners of war and apprehended civilians, which illustrates how this agreement fails to address the structural issues that have caused uncertainty and fueled the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict for decades. There remain several important issues that must be resolved and many critical questions that must be answered before a binding and durable peace settlement can be reached.
First, the terms laid out in the current ceasefire are untenable for Artsakh’s long-term security and stability in the region. The United States cannot allow Russia, Turkey, and Azerbaijan to solely dictate and dominate the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh. While we have seen some reengagement in the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Minsk Group process, we believe more must be done to pursue an enduring settlement based on the fundamental right to self-determination. We appreciate the response Secretary Blinken gave during his confirmation hearing to this end, stating that he will “reinvigorate U.S. engagement to find a permanent settlement to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict that protects the security of Nagorno-Karabakh and helps to ensure another war does not break out.”
In negotiations, our diplomats must insist that any future settlement supported by the United States will provide the people of Artsakh with the ability to reconstruct their communities and rebuild their lives without fear of further bloodshed. This should include significant U.S. commitments to provide an urgently needed humanitarian aid and assistance package for the people of Artsakh. The international community, including the United States, also has an important role to play by finally recognizing the right to self-determination for the people of Artsakh and their role as a legitimate negotiating party in resolving this conflict. Absent this recognition, they will continue to face the threat of displacement by Azerbaijani and Turkish forces without any option for formal redress.
Another important component of ensuring lasting peace in the region is to hold destabilizing actors accountable. There is significant evidence that Azerbaijani and Turkish forces planned the invasion in the buildup to the September 27 assault on Nagorno-Karabakh. This evidence includes the stockpiling of armaments, including drones that killed many innocent civilians during the conflict, the July 2020 provocations by Azerbaijani troops in Armenia’s Tavush province, and several instances of large-scale joint military exercises near the Armenian border that foreshadowed the coming attacks. The United States and other international actors failed to acknowledge these warning signs and take necessary steps to prevent the sharp and unprovoked escalation of violence.
Actions that could have been taken at the time to halt Azerbaijani and Turkish aggressions included threatening sanctions on high-ranking officials from those countries and withholding aid, including ending the waiver of Section 907 of the Freedom Support Act and ceasing further military assistance through the Section 333 Building Partner Capacity program. We are encouraged by Secretary Blinken’s response during the confirmation process on this subject as well.
Similarly, the United States must reassess our policy toward Turkey. Turkish President Recep Erdogan’s regime reaps the rewards of the chaos he has sown in the Eastern Mediterranean, Libya, the Middle East, and the South Caucasus. His deliberate destabilizing behavior, which includes the installation of Russian made anti-aircraft missiles over the threat of sanction by the United States, demands a swift and decisive correction. We must learn from the failures of an appeasement policy used by past administrations toward Turkey and use every available diplomatic and economic tool to penalize these bad actors for their aggressions and abhorrent human rights abuses. If we do not act, we risk the likelihood that the Erdogan regime will trigger an ever-expanding zone of conflict.
Finally, the United States should seek to strengthen our strategic relationship with Armenia, a young democracy that has been shaken by last year’s events and the resulting uncertainty they have caused. We urge you to identify ways we can provide additional economic assistance to Armenia to support its democracy and development as well as respond to the significant number of displaced people who have fled the conflict in Artsakh.
We also request that your Administration identify ways in which our economic, cultural, and other ties to Armenia can be improved to benefit Armenia and the large Armenian American diaspora in the United States. Those steps should include the formal recognition of the Armenian Genocide by President Biden on April 24, following in the footsteps of both the House and Senate who passed resolutions recognizing the fact of the Genocide during the 116th Congress.
Thank you for attention to these important matters. We stand ready to work with you to craft a policy in the South Caucasus region that is consistent with U.S. national security, universal principles of human rights, and our democratic values. Our hope is to further discuss these issues with you and your teams at the earliest convenience.

LITTLE SECRETS
Biggest regret : Not turning himself sooner. He should have forced the werewolf’s hand the first summer he met them.

Someone they could kill : There’s plenty, but to just start off the list: Lyall Lupin. Walden Macnair, Antonin Dolohov, and Damocles Belby.
Someone they miss : Friends he had in school, before they dropped him. Fenrir would never admit it.
Someone they resent : Same list as someone he could kill. Fenrir has strong feelings or none at all.

Something they’re embarrassed about liking : He thinks it’s pretty embarrassing to like living with the pack. He’s always a loner, so he wouldn’t admit that he enjoys all their company.
What did they want to be when they were younger? : He wanted to be strong. There was a small period of time that he wanted to be a cowboy.
Secret they consider to be their “big secret” : Again, that he likes living with the pack.
Amortentia :  Fresh cut bark and wood, summer rain on warm soil, wildflowers.
ALL ABOUT YOU
Character’s favorite feature : His everything. He’s surprisingly vain. Fenrir really likes his face, but also his abs.
Character’s least favorite feature : His teeth. Fenrir likes his werewolf teeth better.
One thing they’re really good at : Revenge and violence.
One thing they’re really bad at : Remaining calm.
One thing they wish they were good at : Keeping the pack together like Agnes is. He’s not as good or as personable.

Can they play an instrument? : Nope.
Best subject in school : Care of Magical Creatures
Worst subject in school : Potions
Can they cook? : Not particularly well.
Nervous ticks? : If Fenrir is really nervous, his body tenses up. His jaw goes tight, and his eyes narrow. He looks for places to escape. For him it’s either fight or flight, and typically the answer is fight. Fenrir will fight his way out of nerves.
