This is post-endgame but canon divergence. Tony and Pepper are best friends. Tony is alive and loses his right arm, but makes a waterproof prosthetic. He’s retired from Iron Man, but he still provides help with his Iron Sentry and still provides support for Rhodey with War Machine and any superheroes that need it. 

Tony starts hanging out with Wong when Pepper and Rhodey are busy with SI and the Avengers. Wong ends up loving Tony around, helping figure out how to properly incorporate magic with technology, like meshing the two into one new power/magic and they have a gaggle of learners curious and ready to try. 

In the beginning, Stephen is annoyed at Tony cuz he stole his best friend Wong from him but slowly accepts the friendship because it brings in a new kind of energy that everyone is thriving willing to learn because Tony is curious about how the sorcerors' magic works and it inspires everyone to think of magic in a more playful and safe way cuz safety first. 

Tony finds the doors with the knobs that change places, and with Wong’s help finds waterfalls because Tony loves waterfalls. He finds them peaceful, and so he often spends some time at the waterfalls, and Stephen curious starts going along with Tony with the excuse “You don’t know what dangers there are at those places.”

The two learn more about each other as they spend more time at the waterfalls and anytime Stephen is free from superheroing. They also go to places, not the waterfalls that Tony’s always wanted to see but had been too busy being Iron Man and saving the world to see. Tony confesses that seeing Stephen turn the black hole that Thanos threw at him into butterflies made him realize that Stephen, despite being an asshole, is just soft and lovely. It’s why when Stephen walks into Tony’s place, holograms of beautiful blue butterflies start flying around them.

Stephen and Tony start going out. They have biweekly dates at any waterfalls that the two can find. Wong helps keep the environment protected from the two and them from the nature around them. (I like to think that there's a magic that can erect some kind of invisible barrier that protects the plants or something) They swim in the waterfall if it’s safe.

The two men learn to love each other deeply and as they keep going on dates, they both go to their friends, Pepper and Rhodey and Happy for Tony and Wong for Stephen. They go to them for advice on how to propose to each other. They don’t know that they’re proposing to each other. 

They plan to go to the first waterfall they went to. They take a swim in the water and they have that moment again where they realize again “Fuck, I love this man.” And all plans to propose the way they wanted to fly out the window. They embrace while still underwater and start to swim to the surface, still in each other’s embrace. They’re just breathing in one face, really close to each other and they both whisper “Marry me?” 

And together in one breath, “Yes.”

Izzy Hands Festive Fix-It Fest

Welcome to the Izzy Hands Festive Fix-It Fic Fest! After the roller coaster of Season 2, it seemed a good time to join together and have a gift exchange for our beloved unicorn. Despite the title, stories do not need to be Fix-It fics - just centered around the one and only Izzy Hands. Heeeyy so tuesday was A Day so I ended up trying to write this over the course of the week and posting way later than originally planned. @biceratops7 and @ourflagmeansgayrights thank you for your patience hearing back from me and with this whole dialogue. For context, this is in response to this thread.

I've had to come back again and again to this post because, on top of other things, I kept explaining the difference between structural and interpersonal racism and then getting distracted by my visceral responses to this conversation. Pero like I don't want to go over systems of oppression 101 stuff because it feels patronizing. I also don't wanna rehash the ways in which the doxxing and the targeted harassment and the rhetoric make me feel.

So I wanna try establishing a common ground as fans who care about racial justice and queer liberation before I proceed here. Please let me know if there's significant caveats/disagreements about any of the principles in the list below.

I realize that most people join fandom looking for levity and connection and creative expression and none of this shit should be that deep. But right now we're talking about structural racism and real, concrete, preventable harm being done to people in our fandom community. I think it's safe to assume that everyone who's invested in "the izcourse" (lol) believes that these things deserve to be treated seriously.

After eight months of being active in the ofmd fandom (especially within the "izzy side"), I'd describe our current guiding principles around racism as follows:

OFMD is special because of its loving, complex, and imaginative portrayal of nonwhite, lgbtq characters as well as its diversity behind and in front of the cameras.

The peace of mind and physical safety of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) in fandom are important and worthy of protection.

We are aware that because we live in a racist world and because fandom in general is overwhelmingly white, BIPOC often experience racist microaggressions from other fans, which poses an obstacle to our enjoyment of fandom.

We are also aware that when BIPOC call out these microaggressions or racist tropes in the source material+fanworks, we are often met with backlash that may include overt racist harassment and/or abuse.

In order to reduce racist microaggressions and to help make the fandom a safer space for nonwhite fans, it's vital that everyone (no matter their race) takes action. Some ways that fans take action are:

a. calling out racist microaggressions. b. white fans sharing the burden of basic antiracist education to prevent BIPOC from burning out and receiving racist backlash. c. defaulting to listening, reflecting, and adjusting behavior when someone points out concerns around potentially racist behaviors. d. pointing out racist trends and tropes in fanworks+the source material (whitewashing, white savior narratives, cultural posturing, etc). e. sharing, creating, and studying antiracist educational resources.

I'm approaching my responses to the messages below with the understanding that the 5 principles described above are indeed antiracist, that they form part of the general ofmd fandom culture, and that the tactics listed under principle 5 are being regularly practiced by nonwhite and white ofmd fans alike. I believe that, generally speaking, these principles and tactics are beneficial to BIPOC fans.

Now, on to the replies.

I think that this is a key point of the mess we're grappling with. I want to first restate that, in my experience, calling out racist trends has been an accepted practice in ofmd fandom for the better part of 2022 (see principle 5). That said, even though I've never witnessed it, I'm predisposed to believe claims of overt racist harassment against nonwhite fans for openly criticizing Izzy--such is the nature of racism. But I would be remiss not to point out that the overall ofmd fandom culture has evolved in favor of embracing explicitly antiracist attitudes. I'm sure that we owe this to nonwhite fans who took on the heavy burden of promoting antiracism during early fandom days.

Calling out racism in fandom is NOT the problem.

The problem is that BIPOC in the "izzy side of fandom" have been subject to severe, concrete, racist, escalating harm that goes beyond the daily racist fuckshit that makes up the ether of our lives in AND outside of fandom. What's worse, abusers justify their actions by invoking tactic b (pointing out racist trends and tropes in fanworks) and then wrapping it up in "izzy critical" rhetoric.

Assuming best intent and forgoing my personal thoughts about "izzy critical" meta, these are my questions about the impact of this "type of Izzy fans":

What are the specific qualities and behaviors of “Izzy fans who make bipoc feel unwelcome in the fandom” (as biceratops 7 wrote below)?

What is the nature and extent of the harm they cause? What tactics have worked in reducing the negative impact of this "type of Izzy fan"?

The questions above also address the first paragraph and are tied to the last question in the screenshot below.

I think you hit the nail on the head here and I truly appreciate you questioning the point of disparaging BIPOC fans for disagreeing with "Izzy critical views."

There are two contradictory problems going on here, and it's not as cut and dry as 'which one is technically more racist.”

Yeah :/ such is the insidious nature of racism. Which is why the question "is x technically more racist than y" is not that helpful when it comes to strategizing for racial justice campaigns: looking for concrete, measurable things to work on is where it's at.

So instead of "is the segregated westside more racist than the eastside?" we ask "why is there so much lead in the blood of polynesian eastside kids than there is in the blood of white westside kids?" Instead of "is it more racist to force this brown councilmember to resign than to keep him around even though he broke the community's trust?" we ask "what would it take for the councilmember to regain the trust of the black and brown communities he failed? can he even do it?"

In our case, instead of languishing over "is the harm that nonwhite Izzy fans get more racist than the microaggressions that Izzy Critical fans regularly call out?" I propose framing the contradictory problems you mentioned by assigning them to the super weird polarized camps we're working on:

Izzy Canyon*: what are the harmful, racist behaviors coming from our side of fandom that we might be missing or ignoring and how do we address them? The Izzy Critical Community: "[why is there] a mass dismissal of BIPOC fans who feel [unwelcome in ofmd fandom] due to those who hold Izzy critical views?"

*A lot of us on ofmdtwt affectionately started using "Izzy Canyon" as a silly catch-all for those of us who like Izzy, block liberally, and make+consume lots of NSFW and dead dove fanworks (lots of "minors DNI"s). Even though the "Izzy Critical Community" feels cohesive to me, it's not "my" side of fandom, so I don't think it's my place to define it.

when did you watch bad buddy/join the fandom?

december 14, 2021, when i decided to binge what my twitter mutuals have been hyping about on my tl for weeks.

i had been on a hiatus prior to that, having just been suffering from julie and the phantoms brainrot, that it surprised me that my old fandom mutuals were moving on collectively to another show. so many tweets analyzing and raving about the show caught my attention because i'm all about those, those are my cup of tea, especially the night of episode 5 airing. i watched a clip of the rooftop scene and i wanted to know why they were crying and why one of them walked away, so i had it on my watchlist. i was still busy with schoolwork though so i didn't get to actually start watching until two weeks later, four days after episode 7 aired (hence 12/14/21) at 10 PM with my sheets pulled up. it was me and my phone against the world.

yes i made it worse because that week was my finals—but to my defense, to my defense, i had already finished half of it and was close in finishing the other half of my exams.

joined the fandom like not even an hour later after i binged 1-7 because i came on twitter and was met with a warm welcome.

patpran and inkpa. i have my fair share of liking rare pairs (clary and izzy from shadowhunters tv, riley and farkle from girl meets world, quinn and rachel from glee) but for shows like these, nah. haha the main pairs really do it for me.

pat - mans was so relatable. sexually fluid, thought he had a crush on his different-gendered friend but turned out to be in love with someone who is of the same gender who was right in front of him the whole time. became closer to different-gendered friend after confessing to them i'm totally not projecting haha what do you man

ink - ah, ink nolastname my beloved. introduced as a red herring but ended up having her own sapphic love story?? no other girl in a bl could ever.

junior - i thought he'd just be a one-episode side character but him serving the story in multiple ways got to me. he felt like patpran's child which is so cute, but also a representation of the freedom patpran's own kid selves could have had.

favorite episode(s)

3 - falls under the romcom formula of pat just following pran around like a dumb oblivious puppy and while we the audience are attuned to pran's perspective, once you rewatch episode 3, you realize how much pat has not been lying about how he feels for both pran and ink and that his behavior says it all.

5 - do you even need to ask. i'm pat-biased so him speedrunning his sexuality was so funny and so devastating at the same time.

10 - some people have said that i'm a masochist for this one. but in all seriousness when i first watched it (which was via iWant and not YouTube, so i had no interruptions of 4 parts and got to watch all four parts immediately and earlier than everyone else because if you didn't know back when it was airing, the premiering of the parts would have an interval of around 5-15 minutes each) it felt so long and advanced the plot the most. it had all: inkpa getting together, patpran being adorable annoying bfs, and learning about their generational trauma. yikes! i loved the angst of it all.

the whole plot of wai getting mad at pran and how they resolved it. like come on man, the best friend hates when one lies to the other trope is so lame and overused. it's not just pat getting shot, it was the whole thing of the archi gang being unfairly mad without bothering to learn about why he lied. if they didn't feel like side characters then who are just there to put external conflict and less like actual friends who got hurt from the secret, they certainly acted most like it in episode 9.

what are your some of your favorite fanworks made by other people?

i made a fanfic recommendation thread and i have a couple of bbs edits saved in all of tiktok, instagram, and twitter, but if i had to really narrow it down, that'd be tough. hmm.

gif - i search @pranpats' pat breaking silently post every few months to make myself cry whenever i need a good one. my baby boy my baby boy i love him so much. i tuck him in bed and give him nong nao. btw the sharpening of this gif made pat's tears so much clearer and i want to hurl myself off of a balcony thanks.

fic - from the tide by fruti2flutie is a popular fanfic but it deserves the hype. i was blown away by its character dynamics and style of writing that i wrote an original story inspired from its worldbuilding/power system for my fiction workshop class. the river can't go back by unsungyellowraincoat is poetic heaven.

art - last one to propose loses by cubedmango + rooftop wedding by @thatgothsamurai = my our skyy actually.

animatic - Ur SOUL Ur BodY by RENii•EXE has so many shots that made me question my entire existence, namely pran pressing pat's hand into the bedsheets (0:41). it's so good. 10/10.

animation - I am not your ocean anymore by @architectxengineer is incredible. watching this broke my heart in the best possible way. the visual of how pran and pat stumble into their room in episode 11 is such a cute scene to fill the gap of.

edit - mae's safety net is a personal favorite because it was first uploaded on my birthday, i could never get tired of it as i kept watching it for months on end, and then there was that time it was archived on mae's instagram but she was kind enough to unarchive it for me (alongside her other incredible bbs edits!) huhu ily. and then another objectively well-made one is 7 things by mic that is deservedly popular on twitter, not to mention the very intentional use of colors from all of pran's markers/color pencils! HOW. COOL. IS. THAT.

text - In Fair Verona by @shortpplfedup is an analysis/commentary scenepost series that i fell in love with and tuned into as the episodes aired. it details the main romeo and juliet allegory as well as points out its differences. it's so so pretty and insightful and a delight to read. read all of it, guys. please.

visual edit - among all my photo edits, my untranslatable words one almost made it here but i gotta hand it to my bad idea storyboard. if i could only draw, i would have animated the shit out of this tbh.

video edit - all the stars kind of flopped in reception which was a bummer considering no one knows i spent an embarrassingly long time working on it (...9 hours) but now you do haha.

fanfic - the rest are drabbles anyway so i don't even think this can count as a favorite if it's only one lmao but it's my Teen Wolf AU anamnesis (28k, 4 chapters, fin). really enjoyed the season 6 binge for educational purposes :DD and writing pranink, pranpa, patink, and the jindapat siblings was one of the best parts. my true ot4.

other - i wrote something about patpran that was not prose. it's post velum (which is latin for behind the curtain, the name of the novel) and it's poetry about each episode of bad buddy + our skyy. oh and my patpran as percabeth series that i mostly only did for like,, two people.

a taylor swift song feels like cheating because every ship can be associated to a taylor swift song but still. daylight is perfect. i once believed love would be burning red? pre-relationship patpran. the rivalry is so fiery that they thought they wouldn't have the space to be soft. but it's golden. established relationship patpran. they are the healthiest teenaged boyfriends ever. their relationship endures for years and glows.

i don't really agree with thinking bad buddy is the perfect show and that it had the perfect ending. i still understand the direction and the decision to go with those and other more questionable choices, but i like recognizing the show's flaws. tons and tons of it. from the technicalities of production to the actual writing. especially knowing the show's behind the scenes and what happened from the mock trailer's official announcement and the gp's initial (horrible) reception, to this show finally airing and its first four episodes being in the trenches when it comes to ratings (haha the bbs nugu era), to the ending of episode 5 breaking the internet to the point of being recognized in the following gmmtv 2022 presscon, then to the steep rise to the peak.

...especially knowing those made me love the show more inside out. tldr; i'm a "bad buddy is a very flawed show and i love it" type of person.

I've said most of this on Twitter already, but here is my Obligatory OFMD Finale Feels post.

In short: I'm disappointed on a plot and character level and people are right to say it's ableist, but I mainly think the writers fucked up while trying to do something positive. A lot of this is conjecture, and it doesn't absolve the creators for making the mistakes they did or continuing to preach kindness and happy endings in interviews, but I think it makes sense and frames OFMD as an effort to make a show that is far more progressive than most other shows, but still really, really fucked up without meaning to.

Looking at the timeline, the show got renewed in June 2022, and was filming by September. The fandom has had a full year to explore Izzy's character and get more attached to him than the writers, who got about 3 months to gauge audience reaction and potentially rewrite his whole arc, could have expected.

I think the fact that the writers seem to have tried to give a fan favourite an arc in which he achieves happiness and self-actualisation is laudable. The problem is that in doing so, they made him even more of an avatar of queer and disabled survival while failing to change the endpoint they had planned for him. As a result, when he died, he wasn't just a complex deuteragonist with an arc that served the main story who saw the error of his ways, but a protagonist who had come to represent the themes of survival and acceptance that the show has embodied from the start.

The fact that s2 explicitly gave Izzy an arc about becoming disabled and coming to terms with it is what invokes the "bury your cripples" trope, and the idea that being disabled makes life not worth living despite earlier episodes (and other characters!) in the series explicitly demonstrating the contrary. If we look at his death as something the writers viewed as a fixed canon event, it's clear that they badly fumbled the ending, thinking they'd given him peace at the end when what they'd actually done was rip the prospect of more peace and happiness from him.

The way Izzy's death and funeral were handled--the in-universe inconsistency of having his fatal wound be on the left side, the cruelty of the British noticing his golden leg, the implication of something beyond the grave by having possibly-seagull-Buttons landing on his grave and denying us the closure of knowing that's the end, as well as separating him from his community and from his prosthetic were repeated slaps in the face that I see as the result of internalised ableism and trying to force a character that had grown beyond his original narrative purpose back into a predetermined fate. To me djenks' garbled rewriting of Izzy's relationship with Ed in interviews confirms that the character broke the bounds of its intended purpose and left the writers unsure what to do with him.

Ultimately, I don't think djenks and the writers intended to be cruel. I think they're the products of an ableist, racist, homophobic society with a lot of internalised prejudice who should have hired a disability consultant for their silly pirate show that unexpectedly punches far above its weight in terms of representation. Still, I can absolutely understand why viewers might feel that the failure to account for their internalised ableism is enough of a betrayal to stop watching. I do hope those viewers can still find joy and representation in the fandom going forward; if they move on to another show, our fandom will be poorer for it, and I think other fans need to recognise the hurt they're going through and use this experience as an impetus to create better-informed fanworks themselves.

I'm not especially interested in litigating whether OFMD signposted this from the start or is breaking or sticking to genre conventions or three-act-structures or whether it broke in-universe rules (it did, though. bite me.) Izzy's death was neither an inevitable beat in a well-told story nor evidence of an intentional shift towards Game-of-Thrones-style cruel and pointless deaths. They just fucked up, badly, and I hope they'll do better in future.

Development documentation will be posted here, but it also serves as a way for anyone who is interested to learn about the game and the characters via their bio pages, updates, or by asking them questions and interacting with them directly! So yes -- some posts will be "in character," but others will not. All posts that are not meant to be read as 'in character' will be tagged as "#development logs" if that piques your interest, or if on the other end of the spectrum you'd like to block it.

WHO ARE YOU?

We are just a couple of dudes who want to work on a project. Beyond that, we have little experience with creating games, but have been best friends for over four years -- if anyone can figure it out together, it's us.

WHERE CAN I PLAY?

If you have any other questions or concerns, feel free to shoot us an ask detailing it, or you can message the main developer Mischa over on @timothymcgay.

HEXED! is currently in development. There are only two developers working on this project at the moment and both are full-time employees elsewhere, and as such we cannot dedicate our full days to it, merely our free time.

HOW FAR ALONG IS DEVELOPMENT?

Currently, all character concepts as well as basic plot outlines are completed, and the main hurdle is writing the various routes individually.

WHAT ENGINE ARE YOU USING?

We will be using Renpy as our engine and have experience with coding, and Python specifically. We hope that once writing is completed, a working demo will come soon after.

CAN I ____?

Short answer: Probably. Draw the guys. Write about them. Share headacnons, fanworks, selfships, and whatever else you may want; and tag us in it, we'd love to see! Just please be respectful of the characters' pronouns, race, and preferences in doing so - Erasure is not cool.

So the event goes from the 17th to the 23rd of July. Each day has its own set of prompts as seen below.

As seen below, the prompts for each day are divided by this little bar | so for day one, the prompts are Thread and Royalty AU.

You get to decide which prompt you want to do, you can create a piece of fanwork with either "thread" or "royalty au" that is up to you to decide.

So for each day, you get to pick which prompts you to want to do. You also don't have to make fanwork for each day if you're busy, you can just do 2 days or 5 days if you have the time.

An A.M.V. (Anime Music Video) that I created for this series over 10+ years ago. Originally debuted before 2010, made before I had watched any later spinoffs, as anything past "02" hadn't been made yet. This A.M.V. showcases various notable scenes from Adventure involving Taichi and Koushiro until specifically about midway through 02, to the end of the first story arc.

Taichi and Koushiro are featured major characters, with alternating Points-of-View, though Taichi's view towards Koushiro is also prominent here.

Song featured: "One Week", by Barenaked Ladies, which was also featured on the "Digimon: The Movie" O.S.T (Original Soundtrack) in the U.S. dub version; originally released in Japanese as three different Digimon movies. "Bokura no Wargame", or "Our War Game" also known as "Children's War Game" in the Japanese original version is also (very) briefly seen, though the focus is Adventure and 02.

I was the pinch-hitter for Rangels. I chose prompt 3 which was: I take anything. And I'll cherish it. I ended up choosing this prompt because I wanted to do this idea I had and to make it into a moldboard and playlist.

In this AU, Tony and Pepper end up breaking off their engagement but are still best friends. Tony survives at the end of Endgame because the Guardians of the Galaxy remember what they did when Peter held the Power Stone. Tony's got some damage to his right arm as bad that he loses it. He does a lot of physical/occupational therapy to get any movement back in his hand and hand. Tony is retired but he still plans to train Harley to take over in the future for the iron suit.

Tony is at home in his small mansion and is bored, so he decides to get a switch cuz Peter-Man once mentioned it before the Blip and he's heard about the new Animal Crossing game, New Horizons, and Fire Emblem Three Houses. Breath of the Wild was already out a few years ago, but he decided to also get that cuz open world. It also helps that he's able to use the controls as a way to help with coordination for his right hand.

(LET'S PRETEND THAT THOSE GAMES CAME OUT A FEW WEEKS BEFORE ENDGAME OKAY. WE ARE ALSO GOING TO PRETEND THAT NINTENDO ALREADY CAME UP WITH THE NOVEMBER 5 BIG UPDATE FOR ANIMAL CROSSING AND ANY DLCS FOR IT, FIRE EMBLEM THREE HOUSES. BOTW HAS ALREADY BEEN OUT SO ANY DLCs ARE ALREADY AVAILABLE)

Tony ends up getting both games and is learning to just chill and relax without getting too anxious about what's happening superhero-wise. He's actually having fun with video games. Stephen visits Tony and they just hang out with each other, almost every other day because Tony has a schedule of who is visiting on which day, but he likes it when Stephen visits outside of his scheduled day. Stephen also gets to learn who Tony really is, because, in those 14,000,605 futures that he saw, he only saw what Tony was like in those fives years until the end.

(Stephen only sees that one future where Tony dies, so he thinks that he just sent Tony to his doom, he doesn't take into account the quick jumpstart of the memory of the Guardians with the power stone)

Anyways, he learns what Tony is like after those five years and slowly they end up falling in love with each other, Stephen falls in love all over again as he fell in love with the Tony from all those 14,000605 futures and not the Tony after Endgame.

Izzy is a fantastic artist, posting a variety of content with unique designs and concepts! From darker pieces to cute cuddles, she's done it all.

We’ve interviewed Izzy, asking her questions about her artworks, fanworks, and advice for other artists!

1. How long have you been drawing in general?

I have been drawing ever since I was 14, so it’s been about four years! I got into drawing after visiting my cousin, who works as a storyboard director for different animations. I’ve always been interested in the arts but 14 is when I started to really take art seriously. Now, I’m actually studying to be a graphic designer, so this choice is currently changing my life. Wild!

2. How long have you been creating for the fandom, and what's your favorite part of the process?

I’ve been creating for the fandom ever since 2017, so about the same amount of time as I’ve been drawing. I think my favorite part of the process is sharing works in progress and seeing my friends/followers get excited about them. I also recently had someone recreate one of my pieces of artwork (the first time that’s ever happened!) and that made me feel really warm inside. There’s something about people viewing something you’ve spent a lot of time on and be inspired to create themselves! Another thing I really love is being able to collaborate with so many people. I’ve participated in two zines so far and am currently finishing up stuff for the ML Big Bang (whoop!) and the sense of fulfillment I get when working with others is amazing. Collaboration in smaller ways is another highlight too; asking for feedback on WIPs and talking about others about their own creations really add to the experience!

3. Has there been anything in particular that influences your style?

There are a lot of artists who have really helped me to learn and get better as I draw more. Some of my earlier influences were other ML fandom creators like Ceejurs, Eden Daphne and Laia Lopez, but more recently I’ve been finding inspiration outside of other fanart. Lately, I’ve been getting inspiration from revamped comic books (specifically spider man) and renaissance paintings for their use of color. Tim Burton is another inspiration of mine as I’m starting to draw more gothic/creepy stuff that doesn’t really wander into the horror category. I also get inspired by Edwardian and Victorian fashion when drawing clothing for characters. Their dresses and jackets are the definition of fabulous!

4. Do you have any advice you'd like to give to other creators?

Create for yourself! I’ve been having more fun with my art recently because I’m making content that I would personally like to see. Obviously, we as artists and writers love when other people consume our content, but it’s so so so important to enjoy what you put out into the world as well! Another piece of advice is to think outside the box. Sometimes niche interests don’t get too much traction due to, well, being niche, but it’s sometimes nice to be completely creative. I do that with my vampire AU(s) and those allow me to create all types of pieces that are unique to me as an artist.

5. How do you think the identity reveal is going to go? Feel free to write something quick if you want to!

To be honest, I do wish the reveal had been legit at the end of Ephemeral(it was written so well ;-;), but I think a good alternative would be to write something super dramatic to make up for that. I think it’s going to happen during a final showdown with Hawk Moth where he will take one of their miraculous, probably Marinette’s, leaving the reveal one-sided at first. Maybe that’s just how I want it to go down, but hey, you have to manifest what you want to happen! I just hope it happens sometime soon because I’ve been ready for years :>!

Why aren’t there more Zahid/Sam fanworks? I’m so sad ;-;

i feel that :( i think a lot of people only watched atypical for the casey/izzie relationship, and they were also the people most likely to create fanworks at all. it’s understandable, since they’re the canon gay couple, but disappointing if you’re most interested in zahid and his relationship with sam. (i’m also at fault here, because all i did was write a few hundred words of zahid/sam one day in august 2020 and then abandon it. i didn’t pay enough attention while watching the show to do much more than that.)

Alec for that, any more than I condemn anyone else for their bad choices -> idk? you ALWAYS seems to take an issue with alec specifically. jace, izzy, clary, and other true heroes could do or say whatever and get off the hook no matter what. so like go off, bring on all the righteous fury, if if you missed 2016/2017 when people were hating on alec for breathing. but like it's interesting you have more problems with alec/malec than literally anyone else

I did miss 2016/17 as I wasn’t in the fandom yet, but I did not miss 2017/18/19 when you couldn’t even set foot in the tag without seeing someone tearing Jace or Clary apart because they weren’t falling to heel behind Alec’s perfect figure. Izzy is only acceptable insofar as she’s the fashionable Malec shipper giving Alec sex advice. Magnus is only acceptable insofar as he’s the perfect docile and understanding boyfriend to Alec. Maia is great as a Strong Female Character it is cool to like but it’s not like fandom puts her in fanwork or discusses her in any depth.

That’s what you sound like.

I have never had more problems with Clary than in 3B. The Lilith-summoning episode made me scream in frustration because what the fuck is Izzy even doing building torture functions into the demon trap? What the hell are Jace and Simon doing going along with Clary’s stupid, destructive plan? That was the point where I almost quit the entire show (I’m glad I didn’t, the finale made things a lot better).

If you think I don’t have sympathy/empathy for all the characters, then congrats on your stellar ability for selective reading. It’s fine to have favourites, but please don’t pretend like Alec isn’t the fandom’s golden boy. I could be spewing whatever vitriol about almost anyone else and it wouldn’t create this kind of backlash.

I don’t know if you were also the sender of the two other asks I deleted, but I’m turning anon off for a while. If you grow a sense of civility, you can message me with your name attached and start an actual conversation.

If a relatively mild comment that Alec once did something objectionable and needed to go through a growth arc (as Jace did, as Clary did, as Simon did, as Izzy kind of did insofar as her wobbly characterisation allowed) sets you off like this, maybe step off the internet for a while.
