Do we know if the cancellation of Ice Ado means nothing will ever continue for YoI, or is there a possibility we'll still get a s2? I don't think I've seen anything about that, just the movie cancellation.

There's been Twitter speculation about why Ice Ado was cancelled (budget weirdness, development hell, censorship). I have hope that Kubo and Yamamoto might shop the IP around elsewhere but it's not a terribly strong hope. I just know MAPPA squandered a real gem and I wouldn't trust them to do s2 if they can't even do a film.

There's some dude (derogatory) on FB who is PISSED people are pricing their farm fresh eggs at $2 and $3 a dozen instead of $4+, saying it's "disrespectful" and "undignified" and "I'm trying to feed my kids" like Sir, you are on a Facebook group page bitching about your neighbors egg prices because your pet chickens aren't earning you a living wage and you think it's your neighbors' fault, you do not have a leg to stand on here wrt dignity.

Also half the answers are like "I give them to friends and family free" or "I donate them to food banks" or "I'm making them affordable to folks who might not otherwise be able to get them now that they're so expensive in the store" and "if you think you're going to turn a profit keeping backyard chickens you have been wildly misled" and so on, and so forth, and I'm so living for it.

and I can tell you right now, he did NOT like my answer of "if you're trying to feed your kids, I hear eggs are edible."

the whole point of reader insert is that (virtually, there are exceptions and practical limits) any fan can pick up a story and place themselves in the narrative position of the reader character. how am i supposed to do that when the most popular and lauded stories are about another petite brunette with whispy long hair, milky thighs and a body hair makeup more akin to a minskin than a human being?

i had a little bit of a low point (one amongst many lol) the other week and contemplated deleting this new sideblog venture because i realised that a lot of the people who show love on my fics, who read what i put hours and hours of work into either can't or won't (it's won't) even put the effort in to be inclusive of people like me (see: Black) in their own stories. and that makes me really fucking sad.

everything i rec will always be inclusive, because having been in fandom for such a large part of my life, i'm tired of seeing mediocre exclusivity praised without question. if i wanted that shit, i could go easily find it in my film class thanks. if some of this is worded a little like a political answer, it's because i know how some of y'all operate. i've been wanting to say this for a while - this isn't disc horse - i'm just Disappointed while Black over here.

@casgape i'm not here to discourse, have no interest in discoursing, but since you prev'd me (and have reblogged other things from me making similar comments abt how you think dean is an abuser / bad with children), it seems you want a response from me, so here we go:

1.) jack is literally not a child. the narrative does not treat him as a child. tfw do not treat him as a child. he is new to earth and a bit naive, in a similar way to how cas was once new to earth and a bit naive. also amara is another supernatural being who grew up fast in a short span of time yet we do not call fully grown amara still "a child" despite being born on earth just a few years ago.

2. dean would point a gun at ANYONE or ANYTHING that suddenly awoke him because that's an ingrained instinct at this point living the life he lives. he's always gotta be on edge and prepared for any threat, especially when he's at his most vulnerable, asleep. he did not purposely point his gun at jack to be abusive or horrible. it was literally just an instinctual response. had sam or cas woken him up he would've done the same. would that make him a horrible abuser too? no, because he's not consciously thinking "point gun at my loved ones to scare them!" he's thinking "i don't know what's happening and usually in my line of work waking up suddenly means there's a threat!"

3. not being in control means the harm he caused was not intended. it means that if he were not being manipulated or controlled by external forces then he would act differently. also causing unintentional harm is not the same as being purposely and deliberately harmful or abusive. intention DOES matter. an otherwise great parent can unintentionally cause harm. friends unintentionally cause harm. co-workers, peers, siblings, we all unintentionally cause harm to others all the time. that doesn't make every person who's ever caused harm when they were not in control of their actions an abuser.

For the past 2 days I have been back and forth with a person that runs a rooster sanctuary, after they posted an infographic about how hatcheries deal with male chicks that was WILDLY inaccurate and incendiary and CLEARLY made by an ARA group. I've had to explain that when you see "asphyxiation" as a euthanization method, it means "they used CO2" not throwing LIVE chicks into dumpsters out back by the thousands to suffocate to death (which is what ARAs love to say every US farm is doing), and that when you see language like "their brothers" this is VERY SPECIFIC propaganda from ARA groups attempting to anthropomorphize animals in your mind. It's 100% meant to invoke the idea of the human bonds often formed between siblings, the familial bonds chickens do not have any concept of.

The conversation ended shortly after I said more than 1 in a million males is needed for breeding purposes (another claim made), and I'm like 99% sure they aren't pulled from the sale stock anyway, they're selected at the breeding facility, and they responded with that actually only one male is needed for every million hens because, and I quote: "The eggs and sperm are collected in a common trough that feeds into a bucket. Water is added to the eggs and sperm to induce fertilization. The excess sperm, ovarian fluid, and blood are rinsed away. The fertilized eggs are gently poured into an incubator tray."

and I had to inform them that they were copy pasting from a first search result on google, and that it was from a SALMON FISHERY.

Anyway. ARAs continue to be fear-mongering fools who will say anything with little to no research if it means they can get a knee-jerk reaction from someone that doesn't know better.
