finally actually giving in and watching hazbin hotel really did something for me. some sort of growth.

1. letting myself enjoy something that is across the board among antis and proshippers and everyone else generally considered cringe and looked down on. not letting cringe culture stop me

2. found out that most of the characters are queer where i had previously been under the impression that there were only like 2 queer characters

3. oooohhh boy they are fucked up. these bitches are terrible to each other and its SOO refreshing to have media where characters are allowed to be genuinely AWFUL people

4. the designs are fun and easy to draw and interesting!!! anf have good color palette that i like

5. its EASY to do canon divergent art/etc because so much is open ended. theres so much wiggle room to have fun

ALSO i did not realize that hannibal the tv series was based on ALL of the hannibal books. i thought it was just red dragon but it's NOT its ALL of them and i am living for this realization while reading these books bc i can see how the details from them all are being mixed and melded together to form the masterpiece that is hannibal tv and im LOVING that

First chapter finished and I just want to say it's such a great and interesting deep dive into an otherwise kinda secondary character in the show. Just Robin rambling about her thoughts and everything with someone who's interested in challenging her ideas. Some of my favorite takeaways:

Robin says she's always been "the weirdest girl in Hawkins"

Robin seems to be better friends with her teacher than with any student at the school

She reads a lot of books for fun but seems a little bit embarrassed to admit it

Wants to run away to Europe

She's incredibly perceptive, but that shouldn't surprise anyone: she tells her teacher she saw Barb go see him and when she asked about it, he told her Barb had come to ask some questions about an assignment on 1984. Robin doesn't say anything at first, but before leaving, she calls bullshit on what he said because 1984 is a book for juniors and Barb was a sophomore, so she couldn't have asked him about that. Her teacher splutters and stutters trying to find an answer but Robin just says "lateeeer!" and leaves.

She passed out during an audition for a play once

The podcast came out in 2021. Season 4 came out in 2022, yet she acts so much more like season 4 Robin than season 3 Robin. I think this just proves that people who claim she became an entirely different character in season 4 don't understand her. She's always been incredibly alone, full of doubts and wishes to run away, extremely preoccupied with "camouflaging" herself and fitting in (though thinking that's impossible for her to do fully), and fundamentally weird. But also snarky and funny, just... not all the time. And that doesn't necessarily mean she acts less snarky once she gets to know and trust a person - she doesn't know her teacher that well, he's just her teacher. I think she just didn't like Steve at first and bullied him a little because of it lol.

#The boy and the heron #how do you live #studio ghibli #ghibli #in all honesty that movie was legitimately so fantastic and im like changed as a person #Story wise as well! It hits really hard if you know a bit about miyazaki and his legacy. Its a very personal movie i think #And you can feel it in every aspect #The eng dub voice actors were really good as well and the animation was beautiful as always #Also really loved the tone!!!
