A/N: In honour of the second season of Sweet Home, this was mandatoryyyy 😁 just started off with some relationship hcs first but feel free to send some imagine or other headcanon requests through my inbox for Sweet Home characters if you're into it! 🩸• Starting from the beginning of this monstrous series of events, the most likely way you'll meet Hyun Su is at Green Home a bit before the monster outbreak and apocalypse comes along. All you'll see of the quiet, sullen young man is his weary, unfocused gaze that briefly trails up from the ground to glance up at you in acknowledgement as he bumps into you somehow while moving into his apartment in the complex. The only sign of his interest in you from first looks is his stare lingering for just a beat longer than he'd usually bother... and that's about it. Boy's too shy and broken and tired to feel like he's good enough to do much else, let alone have a shot at even being friends with someone like you, so he'll just admire you from afar every once in a while and leave you to live your life while he despises his.
🩸• HoWeVeRrR-
🩸• The apocalypse unleashes its hell before much else can happen, and before you know it, you two are out surviving in a ruined world riddled with horrifying monsters and mutations, hiding out inside Green Home as you form the group together with the rest and try to fight off the monsters inside the building along with it infecting and warping others into gruesome, inhumane figures.
🩸• This boy's absolutely damaged and drained from all he's been through before moving to Green Home, and so it takes a lot of energy for him to slowly, slowly break out of his shell and reach out to you in return. But he will. He just needs time and patience, and Hyun-Su will find himself making the tiniest amount of small talk when you're together with the rest of the surviving group in the apartment complex. Or, most likely, it'll be him giving you most of his food when you're eating by silently and gently pushing it over to you, no eye contact, no words.
🩸• Before you, he didn't have the slightest will or reason to live, and so the only idea he can think up while dragging himself around the wreck of Green Home along with the rest of the group of survivors is to follow you around and protect you. The way he wants to die is for you, shoving himself into the way of the monster or whatever else the danger is to take him instead. Hyun-Su's absolutely fine with that idea...
🩸• Until he starts falling in loveee- 😏🖤
🩸• Everyone gets used to the sight of this boy following around after you like a moon-eyed puppy, having a tall, slightly dropping shadow trailing behind your own whenever you go somewhere to find food or weapons or whatever you've been sent to find. From Season One, where Lee Eun-Hyuk tries forcing him to do everything and using his monster side as an advantage, if it involves steering clear of you or putting you in any danger, boy's had enough. Hyun-Su will defend himself in his own quiet but intense way, his dark glare bleeding into Eun-Hyuk's with a few mumbling words of a threat before he wanders off to find you again.
🩸• Hyun-Su does consider trying to completely leave you alone, since everyone's aware that he's dangerous with his monster brimming to the surface from inside of him and his other symptoms and dangerous instability being infected, but it feels like the worst form of torture. He's alone again, in a world grimmer than the last, and he has no idea what to do with himself except feel like crying and telling you everything about everything when you sit by him and ask him if he's doing alright.
🩸• I think that this guy would be mega touch-starved after living in isolation for so long after all the bullying and tragedies with his family, so having you as a comforting voice of reason and warmth is something he can't help but melt into after you've been unspoken friends during the apocalypse and doesn't have the fight left in him to reject you if you try to clean bloodstains and patch up his wounds after a nasty confrontation. After that, it's safe to say that out of the whole group of survivors together in Green Home, he'll always be naturally apprehensive and distrusting towards them all, but if it's you that's trying to point something out or is worried about something; let him go get his weapon, he's coming with you.
🩸• His general aim and instinct is to protect good people and be some source of help and comfort that's been so unfamiliar to him personally, but with you, instinct is boosted 10000000% because it's you. You're too good for this world, way too good for him, and if you die, he dies. This concept basically becomes something Hyun Su isn't even fully aware of until the point where you might almost die somehow being confronted by monsters with the others, which is where you'll witness himself having a full-on freak-out in his mind and using all his strength and darker, monstrous side to come out on top to save your life.
🩸• After the danger's gone and you're alone in a quiet room to recover and process what happened, that's all the time you need to make it official, hugging him tightly and thanking him, while Hyun-Su shakily pats your back in return before giving up and hugging you back equally as tightly, staying in a protected embrace as long as time will let you.
🩸• There's so much raw love and trust and protection in a relationship with Hyun-Su, it's unbelievable 😭 he's so clingy and sweet and ridiculously romantic in private with you until you point it out, which results in a blushing red sight and not being able to look you in the eye in bashfulness for about a straight hour before he gets over it. In public, it's still obvious that you're together, with smaller signs of affection and togetherness like holding hands, or doing that coupley thing where you whisper together in the back corners of rooms or give each other brief, subtle looks that say everything you need to understand what it means and where to run or go or something.
🩸• At first, he is a little reluctant to get too close to you because of that lingering fear of accidentally hurting you or his monster side popping out to ruin everything, but with some time and small steps, he'll eventually give up trying to be overly cautious and let him be wholly soothed by you, which was the biggest relief of all for him.
🩸• But just as you're getting properly closer and in touch with each other as romantic partners as well as best friends and survivors in this mess together, his monster alter ego personality will find it the perfect time to mess around with his head and find a way to overpower Hyun-Su, meeting you properly in the process.
🩸• Now, his monster side is a whole other story when it comes to personality, but if you think that means you'll be left alone or hated or something, think AgAiN, and then again, because no :)
🩸• Hyun-Su's monstrous side is darker, daring, dangerous, and with you, madly possessive and protective. I mean, he won't even try to hold himself back from taking things to extremes and spilling as much blood as necessary if he gets a weird vibe from someone around you, or if someone outrightly tries to attack you. Even if it's a monster like him, there's enough threat in thrashing them through a few solid walls and leaving some biting words behind before stalking off.
🩸• Monster Hyun-Su's a massive starer by the way, so those unnervingly blue eyes are going to be a sight you'll have to get used to, like literal inches away from your face when you wake up, studying you for wounds, or just studying you in general. There's something about you that's just so fascinating to him, and this side of him literally does not know what boundaries are, so he's all up in your face studying you in curiosity with a soft but dark smirk on his face, while you're just "😐"
🩸• Kind of gross but Monster Hyun-Su has the weirdest affection ever. Like, he enjoys feeding you when you're hungry, mostly questionably bloody-looking things until you get it in his head that you're not Hannibal Lecter and just want a breakfast bar or something 😭 and when this guy goes to hug you, it'll be ridiculously tight, sometimes his wing breaking out of its shell to wrap over you, which is kind of sweet. Until he goes to kiss you and it's not a kiss at all, it's more him living up to his monstrous reputation by licking at your skin like some kind of dog until you squeal and push him away, which he always finds hilarious. Meanwhile, normal Hyun-Su's mortified 😂
🩸• Normal Hyun-Su and Monstrous will most likely make an agreement between them to make sure you're kept alive and as unharmed as possible, protect you from any sort of danger, so if you thought you had a shadow following after you before the split between them, you've got a much more threatening one now, so it'd be very hard for much damage to come to you at all. And good luck if you want some time alone to wander and think by yourself, because if he doesn't straight-up follow you out with no buts like usual, he'll be watching you somewhere close at all times.
🩸• I feel like Hyun-Su's monstrous side would find it funny to make you jump, like falling down out of nowhere from a building or something right in front of you when you thought you were alone or something stupid like that. You'll give him an annoyed glare of protest, and he'll just smirk smugly and teasingly with a fake-innocent shrug of "something wrong?"
🩸• To sum up the whole. predicament you've gotten yourself into here, falling in love with Hyun-Su would pretty much protect you from ninety per cent of the apocalyptic mess of the world while being showered with all the lost love and affection and longing he thought were dead along with all the rest of his hopes and energy from the beginning. And then to keep you on your toes, you've got the monstrosity inside of his head coming out at random moments to obsess over you before Hyun-Su can come back to reality again. But whoever's at the surface, and wherever you two are, he'll always, always be there watching you and with you, one way or another.

Hi! I saw a post where you had a game made in godot with old school rendering, do you maybe have any tips on how to make godot render a game like that instead of its normal rendering method?
I'd be right happy to!
I'll try to make this concise lol, I always end up overexplaining and then getting lost in the weeds. Buckle up, it's a loooooot of little little things that all add up.
First off, you should decide which look you're going for. N64 and PS1, the two consoles I'm emulating, both had drastically different specs. (plus, there's plenty of other early 3D systems I've not even touched!)
The N64 had texture filtering (textures were interpolated aka "blurry"), it had floating point vertex precision (points moved correctly), it had perspective correction on its textures (no warping)
The PS1 had no texture filtering, no floating point vertex precision (vertices snap and pop around), affine texture mapping (textures warp weird). I also think the color space they operate in is different? Don't quote me
So you can go hard one way or another or pick and choose what you think looks good! We don't have anywhere near the hardware restrictions they did in the 90s so go nuts.
RESOLUTION
To get a low resolution window, I set the window size of the game and the window override size to different amounts

In green is actually how big the window is on my screen (4k monitor) and in red is the retro resolution I want. If you set the stretch mode correctly (an option a little further down the Window tab) then it'll make the pixels big

COLORS
Now the PS1 had the capability of showing you over 16 million different colors, but it could only display 50,000-150,000 at a time, so in order to get more fidelity out of it, the engineers implemented a dithering effect to better blend the otherwise sharp edges between colors.
I used this shader to achieve the dithering effect. If you don't understand shader languages, that's fine. There are a few different pre-built ones for looking like the PlayStation 1 out there.
TEXTURES
Textures for the PS1 could be as big as 256x256, but they were typically 128x128. And they would squish everything a model needed into there usually, at least with like player models and objects and such.
As mentioned, if you're not good with shader language don't worry. There are countless resources out there that people will either let you use or teach you how it works. But I'm gonna touch on it a little bit here.
PS1 textures had no pixel filtering, so you could see individual pixels.

This is what determines that in the shader code. If you want it to look like the N64 (blurry lol), the proper hint is "filter_linear". Note that it won't be 1:1 with N64, cuz they used bilinear filtering (which kinda sucks and causes weird quirks) whereas now you'll only find linear or trilinear filtering. It's a negligible difference imo.
PS1 textures also were only saved using 15 bit color. I'm told that Photoshop's "Posterize" filter set to 32 can achieve this, but don't use photoshop if you can help it. I use GIMP, and while a newer version might have a posterize filter, or there may be a plugin out there, my version doesn't so I cluge it a little.

Change your color mode to "indexed", set color dithering to how you like it, and the number of colors in the palette to a number to get a good result. Usually I'll do 16, 8, 32, but occasionally I'll cheat and do a non-multiple-of-8 teehee >:3c
You can change it back to RGB after to make further editing easier.
LIGHTING
N64 and PS1 both implemented vertex lighting, as opposed to the more modern and (now) ubiquitous per-pixel lighting. Godot as it is right now (4.2 i think?) claims it has vertex lighting that you can set as a shader property but they're lying and it doesn't work yet.
The old consoles could only handle like, 2 lights though so it doesn't matter much.
The real star of the show, and in my opinion the one thing that makes a game most look like the 90s is the inclusion of vertex colors.
By multiplying the color of your texture by its stored vertex color, you can do all the shading yourself!
Plus you can reuse textures like crazy just by coloring them differently. The N64 also made heavy use of vertex colors by forgoing a texture on models entirely and just painting them using verticies. The only textures on SM64 Mario are his eyes, stache, hat emblem, buttons, and sideburns. Everything else is done with vertex colors.

Here you can see this level from my Crock Land with no vertex coloring, with some of the vertex colors only, and then with the two combined.

Rare loved this. Look at how colorful that cliffside is in Jungle Japes. It makes it so much more interesting than just a brown cliff face. Plus you can see the vertex coloration instead of textures at work on DK and the Gnawty.

My go-to example for PS1 is always Spyro, what a gorgeous game. All of those colors there are not made by a light or an environment. They're hand painted babey! Also! With spyro! The skyboxes are actually just huge domes made up of vertices that are colored in different ways! That's how they can look so colorful and "hi-res".
There's plenty more you can do, like adding a CRT filter or a little bit of chromatic aberration which I haven't gotten into yet.
The way I've learned all this is just by being curious as to how the old consoles did their thing, and slowly accruing the knowledge over time. There's still infinite stuff I don't know too.
I hope that helped! And wasn't too longwinded or confusing! Like I said, it's all about piling up tons and tons of little things, small details, weird graphical quirks that really bring out the retro 3D feel for me.
And I didn't even get into the modeling side of things! That's an entirely different "color-of-the-sky"-sized post though.

love is a fickle thing.
it's not the classic fairy tale sappiness nor is it the unbreakable bond people make it out to be in the movies. in reality, it's malleable. it's a sick and twisted thing, almost always used to hurt you. and maybe you don't notice it yet, but you will and when you do, it will tear your heart in two. it'll tear you piece by piece until all that's left is your cracked and broken psyche, afraid to love again. afraid to open up. afraid to be vulnerable.
and you know because that's what jihyo did to you.
it began with the promise of forever. with the stars by your side, and her hands interlocked with yours. they seemed to never let go, like she couldn't even imagine it. it was a distant, far-off thought that she couldn't possibly think of no matter what she did because then and only then, was she simply and truly in love with you.
you imagined it so when you stared in her eyes, the feelings she had for you so potent, you could almost see it bubble and rise up to the top. she kissed you then, and it was the only thing you could think of.
i'm only yours, she said and you believed it. because it was the truth but you should've known it wouldn't last. her love was already beginning to break. you weren't capable of keeping its shape.
her love began to twist, warping into whatever fit her narrative. the narrative of you and her. the narrative of why she was out for hours on end. the narrative of who the other girl was. just a friend, she would say.
but that's not to say she was the only one at fault because somewhere within you, you knew that whatever you felt was truly already broken. you just hadn't come to terms with it yet.
your love began distorting into the perfect mold for her. one that was so easily breakable and fixable again. one that jihyo could mold to her needs.
you love me, right? she would ask. and it's an attrocious word. love. it's a word that holds so much meaning over you and yet none at all when she leaves you alone in the night. she could've used that word with anyone else when she's laying in their bed, in their clothes, and whispering their name. and yet she can say she loves you the same.
it's disgusting and it's ironic.
you don't know why you didn't bring it up sooner when it was always an inch away, curdled up under the sheets, murmuring someone else's name. you don't know why you didn't bring it up sooner when her tone changed, that airy lightness replaced with a heavy guilt despite the continuous hurt she still brings you. you don't know why you didn't bring it up when your heart began to crack and she heard every bit fall to the ground.
you don't know why you stayed.
but maybe it was the way she promised you that fateful day that still holds something over you. forever. forever is a long time. time that you imagined jihyo would spend with you but she wouldn't. she couldn't. her love wouldn't allow it. it would rope her along, sweeping you up in the process.
what is your problem? do you not trust me? it's a mutter during the night sky, the darkness seeming to absorb any meaning those questions had. it's a pointless endeavor for her to even try ask but she relents, believing it would work. though the silence you give her serves as the reminder of mistakes she's made.
her love cracks like how yours did many times over.
you know. and there's only but an echo of guilt on her face and you realize it then, that maybe her promise really was always going to be empty. her hands glide across yours, grazing against your pale knuckles. did she ever love you after all? her shoulders relaxed, almost as if there was a weight off her shoulders.
and you didn't ever tell me. you never would've. the words are nothing shy of an accusation but there was nothing closer to the truth. maybe her love was all but an illusion. fabricated.
a tear falls, dribbling down your cheek as your heart begins to shatter.
maybe it was your love after all that was fickle.

What if we just hollowed it out?
Progress on the Dyson Ring was unbearably slow (by Human standards) and Captain Knoslark and some of his crew were busying themselves with a twice-a-week extended D&D session. He was banned from GMing after trying to introduce the Deck of Many Things, so relegated himself to a Wild Sorcerer Drow build. When it was not his turn during combat, he would make sure when his turn did come up, the holographic projections he programmed would show off his descriptions of his magics in the most spectacular fashion. He was irritatingly good at the visuals, and nobody wanted to praise him outright for fear his ego might explode, but it did pass the time well enough.
The construction efforts have become so routine and uneventful that the only people who had anything stimulating to do on the clock were the observation officers. Even then, it was just ships going in and out of the system, sometimes big groups of civilian craft would bunch together in the Oort cloud for a race, other times an alien diplomatic vessel and escort would jump in for a visit or to drop off a person who had "made a mess on a vessel not outfitted to handle Human strength", which typically meant somebody forgot alien doors don't have a manual override and broke it by opening it by hand without much trouble. Most exciting was when a new Dreadnought or other large military ship was constructed and it set out on its first voyage outside the shipyards around Earth.
Of course, their main job was monitoring celestial objects and make sure any wandering meteors or debris weren't on a collision course with anything important, and if there was one, tell the nearest patrol ships and they would go out and redirect or destroy it.
Today, Officer Xiang spotted something a bit bigger. A rogue planet! Trajectory analysis indicates it will pass into the Oort cloud in two years and pass through Sol over the next forty three, only once coming relatively close to Mars, but not enough to influence its orbit. It was, however, big enough that they could complete a significant portion of the Dyson Ring. Big enough that, in theory, it would then be able to output enough power at once to power the planetary Warp Gate for anything up to the size of the Moon.
Unfortunately, deeper scans showed it once had living organisms on it, and was thus protected under intergalactic preservation laws: "The surface of any rogue planet that once housed life shall remain untouched, and the planet shall be marked as a historical landmark and scientific object for study purposes only."
To this, Captain Knoslark inquired: "Hmm... but what about below the surface? It's just cold rock at this point, right? What if we find a natural crevice and just dig a little further? For Science!"
As a junior officer and there being almost no people who are experts on such niche intergalactic laws yet, Xiang and the others couldn't find a reason why this wouldn't work, but it felt... off.
"Just think, it'll be fine - we'll reinforce some of the ore and create a porous interior, preserving the structural integrity of the planet as a whole and keeping the surface as is. AND we get about 85% of a whole planet to further our progress - that's a whole 17 moons worth! And and it would be within our jurisdiction during the time. It's a win-neutral as far as I can see."
That sounded like logic. Maybe? Either way, we would have to talk to the higher ups about this plan. Even if anybody wanted to, hollowing out a planet is not a thing you can do in secret. You need, well, literally a planet's worth of ships, equipment, and crew to do something like that within just over four decades, and we want to get it done in less than one.
No matter our advancements, dedication, willpower, grit, force, or cunning, the two foes Humanity cannot defeat, but must always accept and handle properly - logistics and the accompanying bureaucracy. Still, it would be nice if we didn't have to use up more of our moons so quickly for one project.

(Forever crashed so I guess I get to write the ending now. The AU one because no lore for us... Sadness at the computer. Maybe tomorrow they can squeeze it in before purgatory, but that seems tight... I'm choosing to mean lore wise Forever just passed out somewhere because suffering but anyway this fic assumes they got to talk. Which they didn't.)
"... And then he gave me this," Forever hands Philza the book.
Philza looks, and reads it, and hands it back. He does not say anything; Forever's heartbeat picks up for the few moments of silence, before Philza opens up his arms.
"Come here," Philza says. "You look like you need it, mate."
Forever does not hesitate. He falls into Philza's arms, tucking his face into his neck while fingers reach up and combo through his burnt hair. Philza's other arm wraps protectively across his back, the two remaining in silence for a while.
They stand, and Forever is rocked a while. Neither of them speak, neither of them cry, but Forever shakes and absorbs every tiny bit of warmth and kindness he can. His burns and the corrupted flesh sting, but in someone's arms it is a little easier to handle.
"Sounds rough," Philza eventually says. "Do you want to get cleaned up at mine...? I have bandages and shit."
Forever never wants to move from where he is, but he knows he must. He nods against Philza's arm, but needs nudging to actually move and warp across to Phil & Missa. He held his hand the entire way to their little pond and shower, Chayanne's beloved pool, and Philza leads him into the water.
If the touch stung, the water is agony; Forever gasps at it on his raw skin.
"You're okay," Philza says, voice soft. "Start washing up - look under the lip for shampoo and stuff. I'll just get the first aid kit."
Forever nods, and Philza disappears, and he tries to find the shampoo - he really does - but none of his body will respond.
It's a sort of haze that confuses him when Philza returns. Forever barely notices as Philza also strips down, slipping into the water with him.
"It's just me," Philza keeps his voice soft, and Forever just manages to turn to him. "I'll get your hair, you just relax."
Relaxing seems impossible, but then Philza's hands weave into his hair. Despite the tangles, despite the brittle burnt patches, somehow he manages not to pull. Philza hums and Forever drifts, even as the cleaning is moved from his hair to his body.
He wants to enjoy it, but with everything...
"We'll need to cut it," Philza says of his hair. "But it'll be fine for now. Where are you hurt?"
"Arms, mostly," that one Forever can manage. After he says it he hesitates a little, and then begins listing everything else.
"That's shitty," Philza says.
Forever laughs - yes, yes it is shitty.
Philza is surprisingly gentle with the corruption on Forever's arm. He asks no questions, but Forever can see them in his eyes. Instead it is just washed with a gentle cloth and touches - the burns are harder, but still Philza gets everything sorted. First with water, then the alcohol - Forever does not scream, but he does cry.
"It'll be over soon," Philza says as he wipes Forever's arms down, covers them properly, and bandages over the wounds. "Just a little more."
To treat Forever's legs they have to get out of the bath; Philza pulls out a chair that looks suspiciously like one of of Pac or Mike's, and lets him sit there while he works. A towel is tossed over his shoulders, but most of him had already been dried to bandage it.
"They really did a number on you, huh?"
"Yeah," Forever tries to laugh, but it comes out a little weak. "It was a lot."
"I can tell," Philza agrees. "Usually I'm the one escaping parties - do you want to stay the night?"
It's an offer Forever knows is not made lightly, despite its flippant tone. To be asked that, after everything, can only mean Philza is worried. A past version of him would have been delighted - this time, having missed Bobby, hurting and tired and perhaps bound to a fate of betrayal... He isn't sure he can.
"Please?"
And there's something a little broken in Philza's voice, something which proves more has happened than he told. It's fine, Forever understands, he'll ask in the morning. Sleep now, pry later when he feels a little more alive.
"Okay," he replies.
The quiet tone, the lackluster reply - something of it makes Philza look up.
He cups one of Forever's cheeks, and draws their eyes together.
"I care," he says. "I don't care what happened, only that you're safe. Alright? I still trust you. I've got your back."
It's too intense, it's too honest; Forever has to look away.
"Did anything happen... to you?" he hesitates the question a little.
Philza shrugs, "just a weird dream. Nothing like everyone else."
"Tell me?"
"In the morning," and its a promise when its said in that tone. "No worrying about anyone else until you've slept some, ok? And eaten? Toast then bed?"
"I will worry, though."
"I promise you I'm fine."
Philza takes Forever's hand and places it over his chest. Forever feels his heartbeat for one moment, two. It's calm enough, and steady. He breathes in, and out, and allows Philza to replace the towel with some of his own clothes.
"I can go get yours if you like," Philza offers. "But, figured these were easier to put on hurt."
Months ago, Forever would have given anything for this. Now, though, now he allows himself to be dressed, and, once it is done, reaches out for Philza's arms.
He's scooped up, carried indoors - tucked into a bed that has not been used in months, and kept safe.
Philza sits beside him, offering a slice of avocado toast and some juice. With the juice comes painkillers.
To Forever, Philza might as well be a gift from a god for those alone.
"You'll be alright," Philza promises. "Nothing unintended is on fire - and I fixed up the shit we blew up by mistake - so just get some sleep. You look like you need it, king."
"It's been a month," Forever laughs. "I'm not sure I remember how."
Philza shrugs off his backpack - and, more surprisingly, the little cape he wears beneath it. His shoulders shift oddly, then he lays at Forever's side. An arm pulls him closer, and a tattered wing reaches out to hide him from sight.
"I've got you," Philza says. "Just shut your eyes."
"You'll be here when I wake you?"
"Of course. Will you?"
Forever finds Philza's hand, and squeezes it. "Yes."
"Then good night, Forever. I'll see you soon."
The wing shifts, and makes everything dark - Philza's arm draws Forever closer, every limb curling protectively around him.
"I missed you, idiot," Philza says. "It's not the same without you here."
The words feel light; Forever smiles a little, and pretends he knows how to sleep.
And perhaps, perhaps, if he pretends long enough it will actually happen.

Unhinged Azure Gleam RW ideas
Alright, FE3H musing time again.
I've been floating a bunch of ideas for a hypothetical rewrite of Azure Gleam. Trying to summarise it in neat paragraph is proving harder for me than I thought it would so I'll just bullet-point drop all the ideas I had in rough chronological order:
Keeping a big focus on Dimitri's viewpoint of "Reform Over Revolution". In the official game, this is brought up a few times early on but basically dropped just as soon as the Western Lords arc wraps and the mindcontrol nonsense begins.
Cleobulus is the end villain, usurping Thales as leader of the Agarthans. Her tactics end up being much more chaotic and violent but with a greater cost to TWSITD's numbers. Odesse would act as her version of Myson, Kronya would also be given a bit more prominence (cuz who doesn't wanna see Agarthan Girlies having a bit of fun?)
In keeping with this, I really want to explore the idea of Dimitri and Edelgard forming a truce to take down TWSITD. It'll take some contriveances admittedly, but hear me out.
I'd keep Part 1's layout and premise roughly the same but with a lot of specifics changed. I’m juggling whether to keep Rufus alive for longer, or to just make Kleinman more prominent later on in his place.
The Western Lords are given more explanation of their motives for betraying Lambert, the specifics of his supposed reforms are explored more instead of just aluded to. Even if its a retread of the case with Ionius and the Insurrection of the Seven, that'd be better than the complete nothingness we get of it in the final game par Viscount Elidure's one line about the subject.
Rather than dying in Elidure’s territory like she does in the official route, Cleobulus retreats to Arianrhod where a three-way battle between in the invading Empire led by Edelgard, the remnants of the Western Lords (represented primarily by Count Rowe here, still being kept on a leash by Cleobulus) and Dimitri’s pursuing forces ensues.
The Western Coalition would be snuffed out here, with them no longer of use to her Cleobulus finally ditches her Cornelia skinsuit.
During the fighting Edelgard is badly wounded, prompting Thales to try his "mind-control" ploy from the official game (or maybe he's just going for the kill here, whatever works best). He is stopped by Hubert, who is mortally wounded in a vicious exchange covering Edelgard and the Empire's retreat. This would effectively be a mirror of Ingrid's death in Scarlet Blaze, but with a much bigger impact on the Empire's military capabilities.
Thales himself is badly injured and warps away, leaving him exhausted. Cleobulus uses this as an oppurtunity to finish the old man off and claim leadership of the Agarthans.
From here the Empire is left to lick its wounds, as a much more violent version of Ludwig's attempted coup from Scarlet Blaze occurs. Likewise the Kingdom is suddenly hit with more Slithery nonsense as Dimitri tries to recover following the Western Coalition's sabotage.
That's roughly where I got to, but I do have a few more ideas that I'm not sure where to fit/or if they'd work but here we go:
Rhea is pretty much a non-presence in Azure Gleam as is, apart from popping up for expo at a few points she doesn't really do much for the majority of it. I'm floating the idea of her being kidnapped by Cleobulus during Part 2 with the intent of bodysnatching her/using her blood for Slithery reasons. There's a risk with this tho in that I'd basically be changing the Route Damsel from Edelgard to Rhea. That said I do think Rhea needs to be moved out of the way for the potential truce to even remotely work.
Claude's the odd factor here as I'm not sure how exactly I wanna have him play out here. Both of Dimitri's routes handle the Alliance quite lazily imo as both times they end up siding with him, granted AG doesn't just have Claude give the entire faction to him but still.
Thats all I can muster typing up atm. I'll leave ya with a cool drawing of Cleobulus holding Thales' cut sword just to convey the idea of an Agarthan Girlboss end-villain (credit to @card-queen for the art). Please feel free to poke holes in my ideas or offer any suggestions of your own for this silliness.

Well... I'm not dead I guess? No, that's not right. I should be more optimistic.
The first day off-ship wasn't terrible. My warp point was an open plain, with a few trees scattered about. The local wildlife is... mostly friendly. I've gone a decent few kilometers away from my warp point since I landed and i'm yet to find another sapient being or any sign of someone else who might've found this planet. I do have confirmation some semblence of society was here at some point - I've run into abandoned campsites with tents propped up inside old ruined buildings. The buildings seem quite desolate and in a state of major decay. By what is left to decipher of their design I'd say this planet was once a Glitch settlement, but that's up for debate.
Before I left, I debated on bringing a specific tool with me. A Matter Manipulator. The Apes who rescued me entrusted one to me as a parting gift. I am aware Protectorate law states unlawful ownership of a Manipulator or other Protectorate technology is a criminal offense, but I either take this with me or I try to construct schematics on my own raw from S.A.I.L.'s survival essentials database. I am the world's biggest clutz so no way am I putting something together on my own. If the Protectorate somehow finds this - Hi! Please don't arrest me. It was life or death.
Anyway, apart from old campsites and ruins, I haven't found much. I've collected some basic resources and began working on a small shelter to live in planet-side until i collect enough resources to repair the ship. Or at least, attempt to. Thanks to S.A.I.L.'s database, I was able to set up quite a bit of furniture and extra tools for myself. Should I need to, I will be able to forge armaments and protective armor for myself with these. Despite its small size, this home I built is quite cozy... it'll deffinately suffice for the time being. I've also eaten a portion of my rations to keep myself sustained. I'm going to place a marker for the ship near the house so I warp down near it instead of kilometers away and head out tomorrow. I'm looking to either find some kind of plant to harvest for seeds or more resources for the ship. Finding neither would be depressing but it could happen. I'll have to prepare myself for that possibility.
I haven't stopped thinking about those apes. It still haunts me. It'll stay that way for a really long time I reckon. It's something I'll have to get used to.
It's going to get quite lonely on this journey. I'm scared. I hope I can get the ship working soon. Being stranded and alone would suck. It would suck so fucking badly.
I don't want to stay lonely.

EEE thank you @l3o-lion !! To answer your question, most of the animations I post on here are tweening, specifically with Live2D.
I like using it for gentle looping animations & backdrops. (Character animations are a whole different beast? I usually only keep them to a couple functions like 'HandMove' or 'HairGoWoosh'" but this is the VTuber-making software so it's totally possible to make more complex characters. )
I made a tutorial for how I animate with L2D below the cut, if you'd like to see the details! :D
This is the file for that Artfight attack. (quick disclaimer for anyone reading out of context: THIS IS NOT MY CHARACTER DESIGN, they belong to Finchstick over on Artfight!)
I drew the image itself in Krita - for this one I tried to go for more of a fuzzy, painterly style because I wanted to make it look like a muppet. L2D can handle fuzzy textures and gradients without too much trouble most of the time which is something I really like about animating with it.

So! Each different moving piece has to be its own layer. Naming and organizing them into folders helps a lot once I export it into L2D. The finished image needs to be saved as a .PSD file.
After it's done, I'll open the .PSD file in L2D and it'll look something like this:

Once the file is open I find the moving pieces of my character and select them. (I also lock the static layers before doing anything )

Once I have my piece selected, I open the automatic mesh generator ( located above the image, to the left ) and automatic mesh it.

Once the pieces have a mesh on them I apply warp deformers for each part. (I try to apply the deformer for each body part to the largest piece making up that part. For example, the part being used for the head deformer here is the upper part of the head.)

Each part of the face also gets a deformer - each eye, the mouth, etc - and those get shoved into the parent "head" warp deformer.
The deformers allow for parts of the face to move with the head, but they also allow for you to set more parameters per part and make your model look more dynamic. (There's a 3 parameter limit in the free version but if I need to make another parameter work I'll just brute force it and make a 'head deformer deformer' etc)

Once the deformers are set up, I start setting the parameters.
The program opens with these default parameters which are all intended for rigging a face, you can make your own custom parameters at the bottom of the window.

As for the green dots here, they represent points of extremes on the parameter! You can change what these are by moving the slider over the green dot, and moving the mesh on the selected object.

This can be a bit tedious, but it's fun to watch the model look more alive the more parameters you finish.
______ A N I M A T I N G _______
After I save my model as a .CMO3 file I open a new animation file in L2D, and drag and drop the .CMO3 into the window.

The model shows up much larger than the window. You can resize the window in the bottom left, (third and fourth fields from the top,) and shrink the model to fit inside.
(The free version has a limitation on how big your image can be in order to be exported. It usually takes me a bit of trial and error to get the right size for the image.)
The window below your image shows your tracks. You can have multiple models per animation, I usually just use one. The purple track represents the model while the orange represents the duration of the animation.

With that out of the way, it's time to set the keyframes! Under the purple model track there's a green drop-down window called 'Live2D Parameters'. Here, you can adjust your parameters in order to move your model to the right position.

(In order to make a looping animation, you can copy all parameter values in the first keyframe by left RIGHT clicking the dot on the green Parameters track, and then paste them to the last rendered keyframe.)
I adjust the parameters and keyframes until I feel satisfied with the result. Once I'm done, I just go to File > Export Image/Video > GIF animation or Video.
I make sure my image is sized correctly, and save! And that's about it. ( For this specific animation I also put some effects over it in Clipchamp. )

so, after yet another spiky haired killer steals one of AFO's relatives from a vault, he's pretty pissed- especially because not only did Mitsuki run off with his husband, but took their baby too. honestly, Masaru was a doormat so it's no surprise he was swayed away like foolish kind Yoichi, but taking the baby?? that's betrayal!!
not that it's very hard to find them again, and keep Garaki close to them so that he can switch out Katsuki's quirk with a powerful explosion one a couple years later. a winged quirk kid is useful to watch him, and reports that Katsuki wants to be a hero. Annoying... until he says its because heroes are stronger and always win.
and that's hilariously simple, to AfO, and he already has a plan now- if heroes don't always win, if villains are stronger, Katsuki's logic will mean he'll either have to switch sides or admit he's wrong. so, he decides to let it be for now, with Katsuki spoiled at school and with parents who have no idea what to do with his awful behavior- Masaru gets nervous every time he's reminded of AfO and Mitsuki can only yell at him to "knock it off" without explaining why, which does not exactly do much to promote either metacognitoin or morals in the kid.
AfO ensures Katsuki can get away with everything and has teachers build up remarks about his strength,,, and for extra measure steals the quirk of one of his friends, to see how he'll react. He's a bit disapointed Katsuki doesn't try to further manipulate the now quirkless one into serving him for some social power, but they're so young, he'll learn eventually. At least he's cementing AfO's belief in Katsuki's certain villainy, because honestly if the kid was acting genuinely heroic he'd panic and kidnap him asap. (Plus, AfO couldn't really resist taking a cool firebreath quirk. So two birds one stone.)
Time passes, Katsuki gets into UA, and of course he can hold his own against the rabble AfO sends to the USJ. Shame his belief in heroics and All Might isn't shaken, but soon he'll see how weak his hero and the system really are.
(AfO had nothing to do with the SF or award ceremony but he was absolutely delighted in the excuse to focus on taking his son back, since clearly he has to see now the heroes don't deserve him.)
He's thinks it's absolutely hilarious that the kid he forgot about stealing the quirk from to give katsuki a target ended up with OfA. Well, it'll be a good lesson on not wasting potential minion material!
He also knows Tomura won't convince him to join but was going to let him waste his time before taking matters into his own hands and bringing katsuki home and crushing his resolves (at this point, breaking family members is like. Enrichment to AfO)
And then All Might shows up and messes up the timing but whatever, AfO can improv. He's worked with worse before. He even lets the kids grab Katsuki away and land safely- just to warp him back to Garaki a minute later, crushing that nice glimpse of escape. Then he excuses himself, and All Might is left alone as all villains are warped out via different means.
In the vault, Katsuki is ineffectively trying to blast the door open (it's not actually a door, there's a solid concrete wall behind the appearance of one) as AfO drops in, tells him All Might is dead, and asks him to reconsider that recruitment offer.
Look at SOME POINT AfO is showing off quirks to look stronger and uses fire breath and Katsuki is like "oh. You're deku's deadbeat dad! No wonder he's got all those annoying habits!" And AfO is like "um no actually this is stolen and I'm your dad" but Katsuki just. Decides to not accept that as reality.

A War In My Mind
Description: Elvis attempts to relax the reader, after noticing she has overworked herself, near to death.
Warnings: Mentions of stress, not eating, academic validation, burn out. I guess this one is to soothe myself, with school and everything. It's just comforting to have somebody care about you in a way that makes them drop everything to ensure your needs are fulfilled.

Your life felt like death. The immense amount of studying and schoolwork had taken its toll on you, and began to warp your life. You became less energetic and lively, having to save your energy for your miserable nights spent glaring at words, trying to decipher what they mean. Being top of your class, the pressure to be successful was perpetually building, and one day it will collapse.
Your academic struggles were saved for the night, when Elvis was already deep in sleep. You knew he was already worried with the Colonel's demands and the amount of shows, the last thing he needed was to be burdened by your own failure.
You sat idly at the desk, your eyes boring into the flashcards as if they had souls. You glanced back over at Elvis, sleeping peacefully under the covers. You thought about how dramatic you must be; you were sat here crying over some test and he dealt with all his show business while having time to be with you. It was pathetic. You were pathetic.
Tears caught your eyes, your hand gripping itself into a fist as you bit your lip. If you started crying now, you would wake Elvis. You turned your face back to the book, making annotations and taking notes. But the words didn't even look like words anymore. It was just misery on a page. Out of frustration, your hand slammed against the desk.
Not realising what you had done, you heard Elvis begin to stir in his sleep.
"Y/N, that you?" He mumbled groggily, as you noticed his silhouette sitting up.
"It's nothing, Elvis, go back to sleep." You let out shakily, trembling at the knowledge that you had disturbed him.
"What are ya doing up, baby?" He called, rubbing his eyes as he let himself out the bed. He walked over to the light switch, flicking it on to reveal your sickly state.
"E.P, it's nothing, just studying." You whispered, as he quickly moved to you.
"Darlin, how long you been studying for? Are you alright?" He fussed, wiping your cheek with his thumb as tears formed in your eyes.
"El, I'm fine."
"No, you aren't baby. This isn't fine. When was the last time ya slept, doll?" He cooed, digging a hand into your hair.
"Oh, Elvis, I can't remember." You finally broke down, tears plaguing you as his soothing voice shushed you, feeling yourself being overtaken by his firm arms.
"Shh, pretty darlin, it's OK."
"No, it's not! Everyone wants me to be so brilliant, but I can't! I can't do it! Everyone's gonna think I'm so dumb, Elvis, I can't live like this!" You cried, as Elvis watched the girl he loved fall apart infront of him.
"Hey now, sweet girl, I don't wanna hear any of that. You are the smartest thing in the whole damn world, and no grade is gonna change that. Now, when was the last time ya eaten?"
"Like, a day ago." You muttered, watching his face fall even further.
"Baby, ya killing me. Come on, let's go get somethin to eat, put your books down, and we can go to bed, OK?" He said softly, rubbing your back assuringly.
"What about my test?"
"You'll pass it. Trust me, baby, it'll all turn out fine."
"OK, E." You finally gave in, retreating downstairs. You sat reluctantly, while Elvis made your favourite.
Afterwards, he held your hand up the stairs on the way to your bedroom. He coated you in your comfiest of pyjamas, and wrapped his arms securely around your stomach, infecting your neck and tear-stained face with kisses. You slept peacefully that night, with the knowledge that your boyfriend will always be there to hold your hand in times where you felt isolated from everyone.
He loved you.

Road to Cream64 v1 Part 2: All in the Family

With the main player model ready to go, it was finally time to get to everything else. Starting with Peach herself, it was time to get Vanilla into the game.
To start, I had to get an idea on how Peach was rigged and this was something I had to mostly do on my own. Fast64 has an import tool to grab models and their rigs straight from the game itself, so you can (kind of) easily swap models out without having to change anything else, so long as everything was put back that is.
Mario 64's T-Poses are not traditional ones but rather they come imported as a crumpled mess, like so.

Here's Peach's for example. Mario is just about the same, as well as a bunch of other enemies and stuff. Don't get me started on Bowser, we'll get to him much later. But generally once you have it imported, most people would uncrumple the T-Pose to get an idea on where everything else. This is very intimidating at first, so you make a save where it's already uncrumpled. There's another method that you can use to guide you but, again, I'll get to that later.

So here we are, after going back and adding her proper "Princess" textures. Stuff like the crown and the jewel on her chest are taken straight from Peach's model, but everything else was remade from scratch. Get it as close as her original outfit but still keep it very princess-y. Now to get her back in that crumpled state we saw earlier.

And there we go, she's ready to be imported in-game. The Fast64 tool has a little button that lets you keep a model's default rest position to however you like, which makes editing the more complicated models easier since going back to edit mode shifts the bones back to rest position.
And you can do the same method to get it back to its normal position. Just be careful on how you rotate things cause you can accidently rotate two bones on the wrong axis and it'll mess up everything. Lost too many good Mario rigs that way...

Some code given to me by the simpleflips' romhack discord, I can easily warp to the ending to see my results. Took a few tries actually but once it was all done, everything looked great! However, there was still one last thing left: the blinking.
Most models have blinking, which uses a switch bone usually where it would happen, so the head in this case. The Mario rig that comes with fast64 already has it set, so it's just a matter of swapping textures. For anything you import, it doesn't come with textures so you have to fill in the blanks (it does come with its UVs so it's not super hard if you know what you're doing).
For the blinking, you have to find the specific bone that does it and then manually add the textures that way. Peach is somehow unique in that she has seven states, all but one are a repeat of another. Here's the first three from the most recent version I got of her as an example.

So a lot of the early importing was a lot of trial and error till just figuring out which bone does it and in which order, using the Mario switch states as an idea. You could prolly dig around the code and see how its laid out but I sure didn't know how at the time! Anyway, Princess Vanilla was done. She showed up properly in all the spot Peach usually does and that means I'm ready to continue.

Next is the unappreciated boi, Gemerl. Former Eggman goon turned protector of small and large bunnies. The plan for him was simple: he's the new Koopa the Quick. Sounds easy enough, and honestly it was mostly (after some help) but man just trying to get him rigged was uhh...something.
The original idea was to rig him to the existing Koopa model and go from there but as you can see, it was not the greatest looking thing. Koopa the Quick's model and animations are obviously shared with the normal Koopa model so I had to be careful when modifying the animations, if I did. In the end, I scrapped this idea and went with a suggestion: using Mario's rig.

Huge feet aside, it did work out though actually using the Mario rig was a bit of a hassle cause when importing the Mario rig, it also includes the bones that are handle by the game's code such as telling which hand holds things or scaling certain limbs when attacking, etc etc. And since Cream also shared that same rig now, whatever Cream did, so did Gemerl. The solution was to go through the rig and delete all those bones so that nothing gets mirrored to whatever the player was doing.

Look at him go! The added benefit of using Mario's rig was that I could reuse his animations for Gemerl. The next thing was to import certain animations and export them in a certain order so that it lined up with Koopa's animations, so that once I edited some code, it would just know which animations to pick from without much effort.
Also for why he looked so big is cause I forgot Koopa the Quick has a unique scale of 4 (vs the normal Koopa being a scale of .8) so just had to adjust that as well as shrinking the trigger to talk to him and Gemerl was set! Two down, a couple more to go.

Last but not least were Cheese and Chocola. These would be the first model I just took from an existing source, in this case it's from Shadow the Hedgehog. Bunch of chao in a single room...
Normal chao would replace all the toads in the castle, while chocola would be replacing a single chao in the main lobby and cheese would follow you around as the cameraman lakitu.
Starting with the toads, their rig was mostly simple if needlessly full of extra bones, which is a common issue with most of the rigs. Would be nice to get of them if I had an idea on which one didn't completely break animations. Oh well.

Same rules applies to this rig and any future rigs but one thing that did help was the ability to import animations and use them as a reference while placing the new model in the same slot. Course, you could still use the model that came with the rig but you get an idea on how it'll move before it's fully in-game.

Best part is since Chocola will also be sharing the same model and rig, I just had to swap out some textures and add his cute lil' bowtie. This also meant I had to make a new actor just for him and then tell the game to pull his unique model id to replace one of the normal chao in the castle. Now onto Cheese.

Before following you around like normal, Cheese was meant to be the Camera. While not shown, he does have his own little cloud to sit on. Thankfully, Lakitu doesn't have many animations so he was easier to swap out compared to Toad. The Space Channel 5 logo was a suggestion and just having a little fun with the model. You'll rarely see it but hey it's there!

Slow and steady but the entire bun family is now fully in-game. There's still a few other NPCs I would add to v1 but I'll get to them later, this blog post is dragging on. Next one should focus on stuff like the UI changes and finally the enemy choices, ooooo.

Here's J0nny's updated refsheet, ft. The Murdy Gurdy! After the Bar Incident, he starts really considering who he is outside of his namesake, and changes his look a bit. He also carries around the gear he pulled out in the fight and keeps it like a fucked up good luck charm. I'm actually making his denim jacket irl because its dope. More about J0nny below!
Post-reboot J0nny's really about self discovery, finding out what and who he is outside of his prescribed identity. Finding what parts he wants to keep and what he's going to discard and grow from. He also cries under the skin. It'll well up in the corner of his eyes, then just sink below it, making his "makeup" run. He's also got blue insides! His blood is the right color, but oily almost.
His eyes are synthetic and mostly mechanical, and light up/glow when hes excited. He's got a mechanical heart obviously, trying to imitate Jonny-real's mechanism, but its rudimentary at best and isn't the source of his immortality. He has chunks of metal machinery embedded in his brain that shorted out during his reboot, slowing his thoughts down and letting him think around his in-coded Jonny d'Ville identity.
His real "mechanism", if you can call it that, is his vocal chords. They're made of tape recorder ribbons contained in a magnet-proof case in his throat. These tape ribbons contain recording fragments of Mechanisms shows- specifically, Jonny's parts in those shows. His creator (who he immediately killed when he was let out of his grow-tube) survived a show and got weirdly obsessed with the idea of traveling around with the Mechanisms and being buddies with them. His "mechanism" makes it so that he sounds almost just like Jonny-proper, aside from crackling noises and occasional popping, which get much worse after the reboot and as time goes on. Eventually, the tapes probably will sound so worn and warped that he wouldn't be recognizable by voice, but that's for another day. Mostly, he sounds just a little electronic, just slightly.
J0nny's creator also planned on creating mock-ups of all the Mechanisms, but Jonny was really his focus- J0nny was just the very first prototype and an unfinished specimen. He was going to be killed after he ran a few tests, but J0nny killed him before he could even start, and took off.
Due to his coding that ran in the machinery in his brain, he was compelled to tell stories in song, perform shittier versions of all their albums, and collect his own "crew"- This comes in the form of random quasi-immortals he finds through his travels, most of who leave in relatively short time. The exception would be @crocutaclan 's OC BBot, or Bee for short, who becomes J0nny's consistent right hand man. Bee is actually the one who reboot's J0nny after he attempts to self terminate after the bar fight incident, and the act of rebooting him fries something in the circuits that lets him think around the prescribed identity and grow.
J0nny also has trouble differentiating between organic and non-organic beings. Because of his place in-between, the difference is really blurry to him. He insisted for millennia that Bee was "just an organic guy with weird meat!" before he eventually relented after the reboot.
He can play harmonica shittily, but is really good on the Hurdy Gurdy. He found his in a space goodwill and customized it with paint and a knife on the crank. It's his most prized possession. He's also much more skilled with a knife than a gun, but he does carry both. His go-to knife is chipped on one tooth from the bar fight.
J0nny is really attached to beings he considers his crew, and would do anything for them. That being said, he also would torment them if he thinks it would be a good bit. J0nny also is a criminal, and loves killing, generally. He's got the same moral hard-limits as Jonny-proper, plus a few more because I don't like writing child torment lol.
I wanna make it clear that J0nny isn't Jonny- that's the whole point. I've had some issues with that in the past, people assuming that he's just "Jonny but better/worse lol" but he's his own guy. That's his whole character arc, realizing who and what he is and what that means. I've put a lot of my own heart into his guy and he means the world to me. Please be kind.
Also his tongue is blue! <3

Hanfu related clothes I've made in the past 8 months
Hello!!! It's been a while, hasn't it? I'd like to preface this post by saying that I'm a slow maker and a procrastinator and so, I've only managed to make 4 articles of clothing in the last 8 months. I've bought fabric for some more but my brain looks at them and goes "uh, another time" and so, it's been left for later.
For those of you who saw my first post but not the second: my patterns arrived!! I got them from this wonderful shop in taobao and they've made my day. I've only so far used two patterns and I've had to cut them all out first, which, given I bought 9, it was a lot of work. So I only started to use them later in the last 3 months or so.
The first thing I made after april was a short, sleeveless beizi. It could also maybe be called a parallel collar banbi? As I make modified clothing as the mood strikes me, please take with a grain of salt all the names I use to refer to what I make, if someone in the comments corrects me, please do listen to them! Now, I got some stripy transparent viscose (rayon in some places) for cheap, which was why I made this. It needed its own pattern that I had to make myself, as at that moment in time I still hadn't received the ones I ordered so if anyone wants it, do tell me, I'll send it to you. It's very cute and comfortable and you'll see I french-seamed it. I discovered, in the process of making the previous banbi, that I absolutely hate sergers. So this is how I've made all my clothes since. I also had to finish the edges by had, as the fabric was very delicate and couldn't withstand the force of the sewing machine. But it came out very nice and airy and it's quite comfortable. I'm going to modify its pattern later to make a bijia, as I don't have a pattern for it, and I think it'll work nicely.

The next thing I made was still without a pattern and it was... challenging. I wanted to do kind of a banbi to use as a top in summer. I made it myself and then used a cross collared shirt I had as comparison, to see if it made sense. As I wanted a wider design on the collar, as in more open, I could only do so much with it. I had to modify it a little bit after I thought it done but it came out nicely. The only thing I'm not really happy with is the collar, as I wanted to make it with two fabrics, but I didn't want the one complimenting the main one to be "inside" as I've seen in many pieces similar to this one. I don't know how that is made and I certainly don't know how it should be made in this position so I just, rolled with it. I think I will unpick it in the future and make it another way, I don't like how it falls against the fabric, it kinda becomes taught and bunches, even if from afar one can't see it. If anyone has any idea how to make this better, please do hit me up xD Currently it's sandwitched between the collar and the body, kinda like a second collar, but because it falls to the other side it gets warped. Also, I wanted to do this in a nicer fabric but I was aware enough to try it with this one first, which was cheaper, in case something went wrong xD The other one is already cut and is only waiting on me thinking how to make the collar better. I made this with the beizi in mind so there's a picture with the two of them. Below another with the beizi and the nice fabric (it has fishies!!!).

Finally, the next thing I made using the pattern I got from the shop, and I made some pants!!! I had to adapt the pattern a bit, because it was for long pants and I wanted shorts for summer (and the fabric I had wasn't enough to make long pants, so shorts it was). I had to raise the crotch some, because the cut I made fell just at that line and it would have become a skirt (as you'll see in the first photo, the second is of the modified crotch) but the rest I made according to the pattern. I do have the slight suspicion though, that either I read the instructions wrongly or they were wrong because it came out very tight and I didn't see an opening anywhere but the waistband so I have to check on that (I added an opening on the side and put in a zipper). I also wanted to use a different fabric that I purchased just for this but I got very afraid of fucking it up so I got another fabric that I had destined for something else and used it as a trial. It did come out quite nicely, though I know I'll be making a couple of changes to the other one, that has already been cut and is waiting for the perfect moment.

And the last thing I finished last week and I also used one of the patterns I bought, the one for a shan, more specifically, and is the one that so far I love the most. I made it as a jacket with a cotton flannel I bought specifically for it and that I had my eye on for half a year and it's beauful. I love it. It's so soft, it's my favorite thing. They say cotton is cold and it sure doesn't give me much warmth outside but at some point I might give it a lining in linen, which is a termo-regulator fabric, and so that'll hopefully fix the issue. Right now it seems there's no linen in the stores because people don't think of linen as a winter fabric here, which it absolutely can be, so I'm pondering whether to wait until they stock it again or buy it in another country and have it delivered. Whichever's cheaper I guess. I'm just sad I forgot to add pockets ;__; (And I'm certainly not going to unpick it to add them now).

Do forgive my posing prowess, as it is nonexistent. To this one I added an interlining for the collar to stiffen it, as that's something I noticed I should have done with the previous jacket. Jacket I'm currently unpicking to fix it once and for all :D This one was also french-seamed and let me tell you, my sewing machine did NOT like that at all. I'll have to plan for it in future projects xD I am thinking of adding a belt to this one, as I think it would make the sihouette better when it's closed, but we'll see.
I want to make more pants in the future, as it's getting quite cold over here, so i have that to plan for, but for now I have a couple of short pieces I have to sew before the weekend so that will have to wait. Maybe I'll post something over here asking for help, because there's some pants I don't even know how to name or how to look for them xD

The spirit never dies, but please watch over it

"What are you doing, Captain?"
"What? Going outside of course. Uncharted lands and all that. You said the atmosphere is mostly harmless and I even put on my suit. You can't stop me, Zhao. I outrank you. So there!"
Captain Knoslark of the crash-landed Radiant Dusk at Everest made this declaration pretty much the moment the chief engineer said we weren't going to be flying anytime soon. Something about the warp jump frying all quantum-based computers and connections. Oh yeah, can't contact Earth or anyone really.
Turns out going through a hole in space-time really does breaks quantum entanglement, so that kinda sucks. Or perhaps even that has limits on distance, the furthest anyone tested was from one end of the Milky Way to the other. Or maybe there is something in the physics of space between galaxies that we don't understand yet.
Regardless, we're totally alone and roughly 12 to 30 billion light years from home, depending on if we landed in the target galaxy or one that moved into its place from the time when the light from it reached us. Every celestial body being unknown leaves a lot of room for guessing.
Now, given the circumstances, a normal ship and crew would not permit this and simply declare the captain unfit for duty and his second would take over. However, we are a crew of 27 civilian engineers, researchers, scientists, and technicians, and only a third have some military training, the captain not being one of them, and all of us are... a bit on the odd side.
In short, three people eagerly volunteered to join the captain on his expedition outside - Engineer Emily Halliday, Physicist/Botanist/Microchemist/(and like five other PhDs) Haespar Kraus, and Trisha, no last name, she just appeared aboard a few years back and is generally helpful and real fun to hang out with, she knows so much random trivia.
The world outside was... flat, but layered. Some areas only had very small types of vegetation, think like a grassy field, but orange with grey flower-like clusters everywhere. Then there is basically a hard cut wall of this deep red and brown bushes and small trees with super wide trunks that suddenly jut out in their area. And the tall spindly trees? that kinda resemble stretched out cobwebs and have this hazy transparent look to them except at the top where it's a really rich green field of dense foliage.
There's some variations further out, but that's the general idea. Almost like someone haphazardly painted with only base colors on a canvas and refused to mix or gradient them.
"We are entering the red bushes now. I feel a tingling sensation, Zhao. This is fun! I wonder if we'll encounter animals here. If we're stuck here for too long we'll have to start farming. I've always wanted to be a rancher, you know, but space beckoned me!"
"Yes, captain, I know. Please be careful and return from your trip soon. Trisha, knock him out if he tries to bring back a pet."
"I heard that, Zhao!" "I know, don't make Trisha knock you out." "Hmmph. You're no fun." "I am paid to not be, sir."
There was a bit of grumbling before Knoslark ended the call on his end. Thankfully, the other three kept their channels open, as you are meant to do, so the onboard crew always knew what was going on. Unfortunately, drones are one of the things that utilize quantum connections to operate, so it'll take time to refit them to receive radio signals.
Suddenly, nearly all of the scanners and receivers on the ship noticed a variety of new signals and distant sounds - explosions. Repeating ones. And... are those fireworks? Since the Dusk was grounded it couldn't really properly scan the whole planet, just the area immediately around them, so they had no idea if this was inhabited by anything resembling a civilization.
Not long after that, there were physical impact signals coming from the North-East side of the ship. Cameras revealed there were several groups of quadrupedal creatures not unlike rhinos with giraffe necks mounted by smaller bipedal ones that sorta resemble moths, but made of jelly and fish scales?
"Captain, Emily, Kraus, Trish! Get back to the Dusk right now, there's natives on this planet and they don't like the ship." Sergeant Zhao shouted into the comms.
"Gonna be a moment, Ying." Trisha replied, "The Cap'n got himself stuck on a tree. Some kinda sticky fungus lives on the higher branches, we're working on choppin' it down."
"Well hurry, the density of the heightened vegetation makes it impossible to see with our scanners what's inside. You might not have much time."
"We'll be done in a-
The words got cut off by the whole cobweb-tree area rapidly ascending, revealing a titanic creature of fur, mud, and countless short but lumbering limbs coming out of the ground, just as the local star began to set over this world. All other similar patches did the same. The shorter red bush areas then began to glow a faint blue releasing little clouds of dust just above. The titans made their way over these hazy spots, and remain stood there for the time being.
The assault on the Dusk by the locals had ceased during this commotion. Aside from the hum of the single active reactor, everyone was silent for a few minutes, broken by Trisha coming back on:
"Ying, we're fine it looks like, but you got a better view than us, what are we on?"
"Uhh, a giant... headless moss turtle thing? It's not the only one and seems did not act because of you, so you should be fine, but hurry back here." Sergeant Zhao then addressed the onboard crew:
"Drop whatever it is you're doing and get a shuttle working NOW. I don't care how basic, I'll fly it manually if need be. We are not leaving anyone out there!"
