Dimitri/Ashe, arranged marriage OR role swap
[Send me a potential AU and I'll answer with five things from that story!] OH BOY. OKAY. OH BOY. I could do either of these, but arranged marriage aus are my bread and butter so-
In this AU Christophe Gaspard was actually at the Tragedy of Duscar and was a survivor- being one of the knights who helped save Dimtri's life from the attackers. In the aftermath when the purge of Duscar in retaliation was just starting, Cristophe decides to take Dimitri and Dedue back to Castle Gaspard, rather then stay and be complicit. Once there Dimitri reveals to Lord Lonato that it wasn't the Duscari that killed his parents and the court and they need to stop the purge. But while House Duran is old and Lonato is well loved and respect in the Kingdom, he doesn't have the power to oppose Corenlia and Rufus. Christophe also says they shouldn't trust the Archbishop, as he's uncovered suspicions things about her in his time at the Academy.
The answer? Dimitri will declare Lonato his regent in the Kingdom, and to shore up Lonato's legitimacy, Dimitri will be betrothed to one of Lonato's children. Ashe being the closest to him in age and also his friend seems the obvious choice- and Ashe is of course 100% willing to do his duty by his Prince and Lord Father. The declarations are sent out, and the group heads for Fhirdiad, while making sure to stop at every castle, town, and crossroads between Castle Gaspard and the capital, sweeping up nobles and a following of commoner 'pilgrims' who want to do homage to their new King in waiting, and his new Lord Regent. The end result is that Cornelia and Rufus have no choice but yield the palace and accept Lonato as Lord Regent- or else risk setting off riots in the young Prince's name that will pull them down anyways. The purges of Duscur are halted, Rufus is strongly 'encouraged' to marry a rich merchant in that far eastern Alliance and go into comfortable exile on her country estates, and Cornelia quietly relocates to Airanrhod to plot her next move. (Rowe for his part has to pry his jaws open in order to swear the oaths of obeisance to his former bannerman- but he does it with some encouragement from Yuri. Meanwhile Rhea has no choice but to give up on her plans to have Christophe killed using the the Tragedy as cover. It's one thing to make an enemy of a minor Kingdom noble. It's quite another to kill the brother in law of a king, and son of a Lord Regent).
Dimitri and Ashe's relationship is....complicated. Ashe has always dreamed of being a Knight, of honoring his the House that took him and living up to the legends of the old romances that inspired him to give up his life of crime. Ashe would adore being Dimitri's consort as well as his knight, liege man of life and limb- but he can't help but feel he's been forced onto Dimitri as a fiance. Like he is another choice, another duty, Dimitri's station has foisted onto him. Especially given that Ashe is deeply insecure about his place in the peerage anyways- he's a barely literate former street thief adopted out of pity. He has no Crest in his blood, no great deeds or lineage to boast of. Even his adopted House for all it is as old as the Kingdom, has never been powerful. For a thousand years the House of Duran has ridden to war when the Kings of Faerghus called, true, but they have had no great heroes or legends in that time. Part of Ashe almost hopes that when Dimitri comes of age, he will dissolve the engagement- find someone more worthy, more proper, to be his consort.
On Dimitri's side of things, he of course feels like he's the one whose cost Ashe everything- bridling him to a life he couldn't possibly want, to all the dangerous viperish politics of court, to a role that will require him to give up freedom and his choices, and to a heartbroken soulsick man who is everyday wrestling with a darkness, an anger, a violence inside of him. Dimitri wants Ashe to be free- most especially he wants Ashe to be free of him, and yet there is a part of Dimitri that wants to cling to him too, a little possessive, a little selfish. That wants to shield this remaining bright innocent life, and crush the skulls of anyone would lay their fingers on it. The thought that Dimtri could have a more politically advantageous match never even occurs to Dimitri really- in his mind Ashe is perfect for the job of Prince Consort. It's just that he deserves a better king to sit beside him them Dimitri. (The irony that their both wrong about themselves and right about the other is of course lost on them- but not on the rest of the Blue Lions who don't really see a problem with any of this, and treat their joint ascension to the throne as a forgone conclusion for the better of the realm, at least, until war breaks out)
Even after Dimitri goes full Hamlet Ashe refuses to leave his side or abandon his prince. Dimitri furious does everything he can to push Ashe away convinced Ashe is only remaining with him out of the sake of duty, and that the best thing he can do to protect the one thing he has left is to drive Ashe off. But Ashe will not be moved- he refuses to see the monster Dimitri insists he is, refuses to be budged. He loves Dimitri and he will not live him to waste alone in the dark.

The Achilles Heel of Fodlan's Most Fantastic Weapon - Analysis & Theory.
As a mere concept, futuristic missiles showing up from nowhere in a medieval-western fantasy setting like Fire Emblem makes for some pretty neat spectacle. In Three Houses, though? This unfortunately comes with some questions left unanswered, forcing people (like me) to come up and find answers of our own. So after considering what 3H tells the player about these fantastic weapons, as well of our current world’s (known) weapon development, I think I might have finally stumbled across why, as cool and seemingly overpowered the “Javelins of Light” appear to be, are ultimately highly impractical pieces of tech which should honestly get whoever worked on them fired.
I feel I must stress however, that at the end of the day, no matter how much in-game evidence I used to back things up, a portion of this analysis should fall into the theory spectrum. Also, I’m not a weapon/missile expert by trade, so there’s that.
So without further ado, here’s the introduction to our topic at hand:
What are the “Javelins of Light”?
Tumblr media
Live footage of the things in action.
In Three Houses’ Fódlan, the “Javelins of Light” are “those who slither in the dark” ‘s trump card; highly destructive yet suggested to be impractical (more on this later) missile-shaped objects that fall from the sky and explode upon impact.
Lore-wise, the Javelins of Light - or Pillars of Light, as the Agarthan that wrote Romance of the World’s Perdition (found in the DLC Shadow Library) calls them - are mentioned to have been built by the civilization of Agartha over 1000 years before the main story, for the purpose of killing Sothis. And in spite of all the destruction and death caused, they weren’t enough to do the job, forcing Agartha’s survivors to flee and hide as Sothis erased their civilization from the map. Many centuries later - after Nemesis’ defeat, but before the War of the Eagle and Lion -, “those who slither in the dark'' attempted to use the javelins to blow up the Holy Tomb, but were redirected thanks to a spell Sothis had placed in the area which disrupted their trajectory, blowing up Ailell instead and turning it into Fodlan’s equivalent of Lethal Lava Land.
Afterwards, TWSITD refrained from using them ever again… For a few more centuries at least.
in the Verdant Wind & Silver Snow routes, the trump card returns once the story mission that takes place in the Empire’s Fort Merceus is beaten, blowing up the fortification to smithereens just as Byleth’s faction luckily avoids the danger by chasing the Death Knight (who was all to aware of what would happen, luring the gang on purpose). After Edelgard’s death, Hubert reveals post-mortem that he detected the exact moment when the sorcery triggering the missiles was used, and somehow used that to find the Agarthans headquarters, which he discloses in a letter. And once Shambhala is invaded and Thales (TWSITD’s boss) is defeated, as a last resort, the dude summons multiple missiles to destroy his enemies, but fails due to Rhea literally tanking some them for Byleth and his crew, causing Thales to die from random debris, and Rhea to be wounded lethally (whether she dies or not in SS depends on the player’s choices).
Tumblr media
This shot will never not crack me up. Honestly.
In the Crimson Flower path, Thales - masquerading as Edelgard’s uncle, Lord Arundel - arranges a few javelins of light to drop on the Kingdom’s Arianrhod as revenge once he gets the confirmation from Edelgard that Cornelia’s death - in truth, Cleobulus and an Agarthan plant - was fully intentional, and the choice of words used (“I will be praying [...] that the Empire will not become another Arianrhod”) make clear his move was meant to be a deterrent against future backstabs. Given how Edelgard quickly covers up the event and later unleashes the Imperial army over the Agarthans sometime after dealing with Rhea and the Kingdom anyways, Thales’ gambit ultimately ends up being for naught.
Lastly, no javelins of light are ever used in the Azure Moon branch, though incidentally, it’s also the only non-Edelgard route which kills Arundel before Byleth’s chosen faction makes their way to Fort Merceus…
…Oh, and as far story-purpose goes, in Verdant Wind and Silver Snow, they’re used to having Byleth and co. go to Shambhala, while in Crimson Flower they’re used to explore further Edelgard’s relationship with the slitherers.
The Implications Behind the Trump Card
First, let’s go over what the game suggests about the things which make them so damn impractical:
Two routes point out that the weapons can't be abused at their leisure. For what’s worth, TWSITD blows up Fort Merceus in Verdant Wind and Silver Snow only because they were confident Byleth and co. would be there, and not to mention, both Hubert and the Death Knight knowing it would happen all but states Byleth’s group was intended to be killed there).
The only other instances where the “pillars of light” are used rashly are either because: 1. Thales has been cornered and has nothing left to lose (VW/SS): and 2. Thales is visibly pissed over his “pawn” killing his spies like nothing, and is trying to exert some control over her (CF). This stands out a lot given the Agarthans have a serious problem of hubris clouding their judgment at times, so seeing them being so careful with their usage implies a lot of how much they value them.
Thales has exclusive access to them: He’s seen summoning them in Shambhala in the Verdant Wind and Silver Snow routes; in Crimson Flower, he alludes something will befall Arianrhod upon finding out the circumstances behind Cornelia’s death - which turn to be the his trump card-; and in Azure Moon… Thales dies before everyone goes to Fort Merceus, and no missiles ever rain over the location. Thus, it would be criminal to ignore him entirely for his analysis given how much the story points out all the “javelins” employed are due to his will.
Whatever happened with Ailell was an exception, not the rule: Ailell by the time the plot takes place is a living wasteland of lava due to the “javelins of light”, and yet, none of the missiles used in animated cutscenes or even described in person carry this much destructive potential. Meaning, either Ailell was a dormant volcano before missiles fell on it, or the specific “javelins” used were, simply put, “built different“ and are no longer an option.
Tumblr media

By now, it goes without saying that the biggest criticisms the “javelins of light” have as a plot device, is that their weaknesses are never openly addressed and just merely “suggested”, and that’s understandably an issue if one’s trying to convince beyond reasonable doubt that there’s a good reason why the slitherers use them so seldomly, and prefer to scheme and attempt to manipulate important people in Foldan instead.
So in the end, how do we prove these fantastic weapons have an achilles heel at all? Well, I think we can reach a highly likely (yet ultimately theoretical) answer to this dilemma… By answering yet another question:
What truly are the “Javelins of Light"?
I’ve seen many, many people call the “javelins of light" online as nukes or ballistic missiles/ICBMs. But given what in-game evidence we have, both proposals just can’t be true:
First, and as previously mentioned, none of the weapons deployed in the present ever reach a comparable amount of destruction to a nuke, and Aillel’s aftermath being such a peculiar case makes it more of an exception rather than the rule of thumb.
And second, none of the missiles are even seen being launched from the ground. In all cutscenes they appear, the first thing that pops up are purple rings, which are then followed by the “javelin” falling through the path those rings set for it. This happens even near Shambhala, where one would otherwise expect them to launch from the ground if we go by the assumption these are indeed ordinary ballistic missiles/ICBMs Hubert used to find Shambhala’s location through analyzing their trajectory…
How a ballistic missile works, courtesy of Wikipedia.
In turn and, by process of the elimination, this leaves us with one kind of missile that fits behavior of the Javelins of Light to a tee, which as of this post, is still just hypothetical.
The Kinetic / Orbital Missile.
The idea behind them is simple; have missiles fall from the sky anywhere you would ever want, and let the kinetic force - AKA, the fall - do most of the job. And not only that, these can be - design wise - as simple as a giant pillar as a result, leading many people to nickname this idea as “rods from god” due to the weapons being seemingly launched from the heavens themselves. Sounds familiar?
If all this sounds too good to be true, then that’s because it is. As stated before, the concept behind this type of missile is still - currently - just an idea due to the logistics behind them being nothing short of a nightmare. Most importantly for the topic at hand though, a key step in setting them up involves sending them to space first, so they may later be launched from a satellite or something floating in the atmosphere.
And it’s right here where 3H’s lore screws the Agarthans hard, as the only existing reports where there’s anything remotely hinting the missiles were launched from the ground at some point (knowingly, implied, or otherwise) comes from “Romance of the World’s Perdition”:
"The False God must be defeated before the world sinks into a watery grave. To this end, the children of men have erected pillars of light upon the land. Thinis, Malum, Septen, and Llium were utterly destroyed. Those lands have vanished from this world. Yet even still, the False God stands. And soon, a flood aptly named Despair will drown this world."
As a quick reminder, this book is pretty much a relic from the era the Agarthan civilization that existed over 1000 years before the main story, as all of the cities being blown up mentioned in the book no longer exist in Fodlan. The missiles clearly were once on land before, but not anymore, given how they always drop from the sky…
The Achilles Heel of the “Divine Retribution”
In the end, with all the evidence at our disposal, I believe it’s possible to identify - to a theoretical level at least - why the “Javelins of Light” aren’t truly a “press the button to win” for the Agarthans. This achilles heel is split into 3 key points:
Finite number: If TWSITD doesn’t have the means to send new “pillars” into space, then logic dictates they just simply have a very finite number of missiles they’re forced to work with, so it’s best to make every one of them count. After all, if they had found a solution to the javelin problem (which didn’t give away the location of their HQ so blatantly, like teleporting them through magic or something), chances are they would have already used it.
Thales: Besides being the one that calls the shots on the javelins used, people often forget that the dude at his core is a schemer, not a fighter. Unless you really force his hand/piss him off, he will give the missiles the most strategic use possible, and will refrain from abusing them if he sees value in other methods and ideas, such as in CF where he wants to keep his partnership with Edelgard and the Empire going post-war and even have her potentially conquer the world later (it never pans out, but it’s the thought that counts).
Garreg Mach/Holy Tomb has a jamming spell. Sothis did something to the area so it’s 100% invulnerable to missiles, thus forcing the Agarthans to come up with another way to get rid of the Church and Rhea. Incidentally, this is why Thales never uses the missiles during his final fights in both Scarlet Blaze and Azure Gleam routes from the Warriors: Three Hopes spinoff; because it would be a resounding failure.
Tumblr media
Thales, probably having to remind his cronies every century or so why blowing up Fodlan up with missiles isn't an option.
So in Conclusion…?
Whatever FE game we get later down the line that puts similar emphasis to lore as 3H did really needs to be clear on why your antagonistic forces can’t brute-force their way into victory. Truth be told, It’s not a dealbreaker to me (more so once I figured all this out), but it definitely adds to the frustration and belief the Agarthans should not have been in Three Houses to begin with (which is easier said than done, but that’s a topic for another day…)
And like always, many thanks to those who have kept up with all this wall of text up until now! If I had to ask a question to y’all though, it would be something like: if you had the choice to change something about the “Javelins of Light”, what would it be?

Profile
Early Life
Anaxagoras was born in Shambhala in 1165 as the only successful experiment in the assignment of the Artificial Crest "Crescent Moon", created by her father, Myson, and Odesse. Her mother, Cornelia, died giving birth to her and was replaced by Cleobulus, who took the newborn to Fhirdiad in 1167.
There, she was raised in secret in the castle dungeons, deprived of food and water for long periods of time to prevent rebellion, and robbed almost daily of her extremely precious blood. Because of her semi-immortality, "Cornelia" often inflicted terrible tortures on her for the sole purpose of entertaining herself and passing the time. Anaxagoras, severely weakened, had no way to protest, suffering in silence every abuse protracted by her false mother.
In Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes or if Byleth chooses to teach the Black Eagles, Anaxagoras' past will be slightly different:
Instead than in the castle dungeons, she will be raised in the sunlight, but forced starvation and torture by her mother will still occur. Unlike when she was alone, however, in these timelines she can count on Prince Dimitri, to whom she will have the courage to confide several times. The two will then forge a strong bond and support each other in the events to come. He will be the one to give her the name "Ksenia", given her hatred for her real name.
In 1176, at the age of eleven, Anaxagoras was the main weapon for the regicide's success.
Months before the event, Cornelia forced her to gorge herself in order to gain weight and then produce more blood and magic. Once "ready," she was subjected to hyugulation and made to bleed like a literal beast. Her blood was later made to drink by soldiers who went mad and began killing innocents in Duscur, and then committed suicide when the mission was accomplished. She herself was secretly present and forced to cast magic attacks toward the king and his escort. She will never forget Lambert's suffering gaze on her a moment before he was decapitated.
War Phase
The burst of war resulted in a worsening of Anaxagoras' condition. Those Who Slither in the Dark's demand for blood increased exponentially, and Cornelia also began to use it to power the Titans, giant robots driven by unknown and advanced technologies.
Crimson Flower
After returning to Fhirdiad, Dimitri married Anaxagoras in secret, formalizing her name change to "Ksenia" and crowning her as his queen consort. After that, Cornelia was exiled to Arianrhod and, despite Ksenia's dissent, was provided asylum to Rhea and to the Church of Seiros.
Four years later, Ksenia got pregnant and, in late 1185, Prince Aleksei was born. The news was not spread, and only a few people knew of the existence of an heir to the throne.
A month later Dimitri left for Tailtean, and she, haunted by a terrible feeling, followed him to the battlefield, supporting him in the fight against the Black Eagle Strike Force. Ksenia was utterly disgusted by Edelgard's actions and, once she saw her husband die before her own eyes, she expressed this in words, but she was badly wounded in the back by the Empress and buried alive with her husband's head clutched in her lap.
Azure Moon
Anaxagoras met Dimitri when he was accused of assassinating Rufus and imprisoned in Fhirdiad. There, they both witnessed each other's torture and ended up offering each other support, holding conversations in the middle of the night. Although she was weak and extremely starved, she did her best to alleviate the prince's wounds by sending him small amounts of magic to the opposite cell; this little help was crucial to his escape once Dedue broke in to free him. Dimitri offered to free her as well, but under the circumstances she was forced to refuse, making him promise that sooner or later he would kill her mother Cornelia.
Their reunion took place five years later. Once Fhirdiad was regained, Dimitri rushed to the dungeons in search of the girl who saved his life; he found her in the same cell, but in a dying condition. She had been left starving for months, reduced to a pile of bones and with a very deep wound that drew her Crest on her back, unable to heal quickly because it was inflicted by a magical blade. He decided to take her with him to make sure she received the best care, and when she finally began to get better, she offered to lend aid to the wounded, becoming essential in saving many lives. Before the end of the war, Anaxagoras took the courage and revealed to Dimitri her involvement in the Tragedy of Duscur, begging him to execute her because she could no longer bear to have been among the authors of the regicide. Instead, however, the new king was sympathetic and spared her, claiming that she too had been a victim of Cornelia. To leave her past behind, he gave her the new name "Ksenia".
If Dimitri marries no one at the end of the war, two years later he will take Ksenia as his wife and the two will live a happy and love-filled life. If, however, Dimitri marries another woman, Ksenia will disappear into thin air and all trace of her will be lost.
Verdant Wind
Anaxagoras met Dimitri when he was accused of assassinating Rufus and imprisoned in Fhirdiad. There, they both witnessed each other's torture and ended up offering each other support, holding conversations in the middle of the night. Although she was weak and extremely starved, she did her best to alleviate the prince's wounds by sending him small amounts of magic to the opposite cell; this little help was crucial to his escape once Dedue broke in to free him. Dimitri carried her off as well by force and the two fled Fhirdiad together, living as vagabonds in absolute misery. They spent the last five years fighting imperial soldiers, but she could not stop the prince's fall into oblivion; she ended up being treated as a mere medium for the success of his plans, yet she did not have the guts to abandon him. She was later badly wounded and due to malnutrition ended up becoming badly infected, causing a glow of sanity in Dimitri, who began to protect her again as at the beginning of their journey. Shortly thereafter they were both found by Gustave and she saved.
After Dimitri's death in Gronder, Ksenia left the group and followed the Alliance army to Garreg Mach. She spoke with Byleth and Claude and offered her assistance both in battle and with the wounded, asking for hospitality until they reached Enbarr. After Edelgard's death, she rejoined Dedue and left the capital with him.
Silver Snow
Anaxagoras met Dimitri when he was accused of assassinating Rufus and imprisoned in Fhirdiad. There, they both witnessed each other's torture and ended up offering each other support, holding conversations in the middle of the night. Although she was weak and extremely starved, she did her best to alleviate the prince's wounds by sending him small amount of magic to the opposite cell; this little help was crucial to his escape once Dedue broke in to free him. Dimitri saved her as well and they both took asylum in Fraldarius territory, forging a strong bond, but this did not prevent the prince from falling into oblivion. She continued to support him, despite her opposition, even on his suicidal march to Enbarr.
After Dimitri's death in Gronder, Ksenia left the group and came alone to Garreg Mach. She spoke with Byleth and Seteth and offered her help both in battle and with the wounded but did not reveal her identity, declaring that she was pregnant and asking for hospitality until they reached Enbarr. After Edelgard's death, she reunited with Dedue and left the capital with him.
Bloody Lightning
Ten days after being buried, Ksenia was exhumed together with Dimitri by Those Who Slither in the Dark and taken to Shambhala. Although she was still alive thanks to her Crest, she completely refused to leave her husband's head and looked like a corpse herself.
After a long rehabilitation and regained sense of self, she spent the next two decades segregated underground with the only company of her father and Dedue, now transformed for eternity into a demonic beast.
When she saved Sera's life because of a premonitory dream, she realized that the protagonist of the vision was indeed her son, but Myson forcibly brought her back to Shambhala.
The moment Aleksei himself showed up at the City Without Light, the two were finally able to reunite and she revealed to him the truth about her origins. She later followed him to Itha and became the mastermind behind the plan to reconstitute the Sacred Kingdom of Faerghus and give her son his rightful inheritance. She died after Aleksei's coronation, with a smile on her face and peace finally achieved.
Personality
Ksenia is a woman with a good soul, always ready to help others even going so far as to diminish herself. At first glance she seems shy, very closed and of few words, with a perpetual veil of melancholy in her gaze, but getting to know her in depth will reveal a jovial, outspoken and at times sarcastic personality. She enjoys saying ambiguous things without thinking too much about it and possesses a keen sense of humor.
However, she has several feelings of guilt for what she was forced to do under Cornelia's command; she feels guilty for everything bad that has happened in Fódlan since her birth, so she will repeatedly plead Dimitri to execute her and take her life because, according to her, she exists only to bring misfortune. In Bloody Lightning she is in her most precarious state of mind, where she is reduced almost to a ghost who spends her days talking to the mummified corpse of her husband as if he were still alive, consumed by a steadily growing anger toward Edelgard that is eating her up from within.
Ksenia's love for Dimitri and Aleksei is extremely strong, and for them she would not hesitate to give her life, going so far as to take advantage of her semi-immortal condition and severely injuring herself so as not to see them in trouble. Her sense of protection also extends to the entire Faerghus army, proving crucial in battle as support (especially in Three Hopes). Inversely proportional is her hatred, on the other hand, for the woman who replaced her mother, not so much for what she did to her, but for all the evildoings she did against her people; when she dies, she will be the only person for whom she will celebrate.
Etymology
It takes the name of the xenia (in ancient Greek ξενία), which among the Hellenes was the sacred concept of hospitality (as well as being an epithet of the goddess Athena), and is thus interpreted as "hospitality" or as "hospitable"; etymologically it is derived from ξένος, xénos, "guest," "stranger."
Anaxagoras was an ancient Greek philosopher. He is a pre-Socratic philosopher, counted among the pluralist physicists along with Empedocles and Democritus. He was the first philosopher to "import" philosophy to the Greek peninsula, more specifically to Athens.
Go ahead and bury me ... the Crescent Moon never dies.

Streaming Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes at 8pm EST!
Welp, rip Ferdinand's dad. I suppose he technically counts for the Named Characters Who Are Fucking Dead count, what with having a unique face and all, except I don't remember what his name is beyond Duke Ferdinand's Dad so we'll just lump him in with Pallardo? and round that up to a whole number.
Anyways now Dimitri and Rhea are plotting some bullshit in a last-ditch attempt to not get their asses beat, and Cornelia/Cleobulus is still in the Kingdom, so with any luck we can get a real gambit pileup going, and if we're real lucky whatever they pull out of their ass to justify how they can totally still turn this around on us won't be stupid as hell.

Scarlet Blaze - Ch 3?
So it said that I was back to a prologue and not ch 3. IDK, I'm just going to keep counting up even if it keeps resetting because that's just easier for me to keep track of.
Anyways, spoilers for Scarlet Blaze under the cut.
Ohh, Edelgard down a different path? Good! I was hoping we'd see characters get to do something different.
Edelgard going against TWSITD this time around? And teaming up with the church? I like where this is going.
LAMO of course Hubert doesn't support it.
Wait "deal with the church," does that mean she's still blaming everything on the church? Ugh.
Wait, we're already leaving the monastery? Do we go back?
Lamo, Edelgard's taking out Thales so soon. Good for her.
NOOOO, not more Jeritza. I thought he was gone, ugh.
Please don't tell me that she's asking for the church's help and then will stab them in the back later? Is it too much to ask for her to learn and expand her views into something with some nuance? Pretty please. I just want Rhea and Edelgard to talk it out. That's all.
So the game's connecting Arval to Tomas? Spicy.
Shez didn't really choose to stay here, Edelgard.
So why did we temp part ways with half the Black Eagles? Only the noble ones? So are they visiting their families or?
BASE CAMP
Wait, the NPC who tells you that these are Hresvelg Woods . . . he says if you wander around them you'll die? Are there like beasts from TWSITD experiments in there? Or is this more "commoners not allowed, mine" sort of thing?
So in the other houses, will I also lose most of the students?
PLOT
Is Cleobulus Cornelia's real name? And is . . . A DUDE??? That is NOT a twist I saw coming.
Though I can see where the Kingdom/Blue Lions might get drawn into this plot now. Cornelia will stir up trouble, so that's why Dimitri and Co will leave. Don't know where that leaves Claude though.
Yo, Caspar's dad is ugly. Linhardt's is alright. Does this mean we're still going to go weirdly momless while doubling down on the dads? Ugh.
I wish we knew how Edelgard convinced Caspar's and Lin's dad to join her. Seems like that'll remain a mystery.
Glad Edelgard's taking out TWSITD instead of working with them this time. Though, what is she going to do after this?
BATTLE
Well, gotta say, can't upset at the idea of beating up Aegir and Thales.
Lin's dad is actually kinda hot. Not gonna lie. But my God am I sick of moms not existing in this game. It's even more stark now that some of the dads are getting upgraded to "sir appearing in this film"
Man, Ferdie got his looks from his mom, hunh. Not that we would know, since we never see any moms.
Hubert's a beast. Dude took down two people before anyone else even took one.
So if Thales can put up magic random walls, why didn't he do that in Houses? I swear, TWSITD get whatever powers they need whenever the plot needs it and then it's gone when it would make sense for them to use it later on.
Oh, cut scene. Lamo, he dodges Edelgard and wiped Shez out. Good for Thales.
STORY
So is this route going to focus on TWSITD? It would be so, so nice to finally see Edelgard focus and take down them. She deserves it.
The rest of the Black Eagles are here.
Glad to see Ferdinand actually, you know, mention what's going on with his father.
Do we get to beat up Bernie's father now?
Petra MVP. Alright. I can get behind that.
Wow, Hubert already mastered his class. Nice. Does that mean I can upgrade to the next one?
So she's planning something something in two years? Oh, no, no, noooooo. Not this shit again. A 5 year war? This isn't going to be CF 2.0, is it?
Also, how the hell can Edelgard predict how long a war is going to take? Did she visit a palm reader or something? LAMO, you can't predict that shit, Fire Emblem writers. Lol.
Lin's dad is like a mid-tier DILF. Like, Jeralt level. But nothing like Seteth, Rodrigue, or Lambert. Caspar's dad is fugly though.
Oh, the infamous Count Varley. And yet another dad with no moms in sight.
Where's Hubert's dad, did he kill him? OMG HE DID! 🤣
Wait, why is she restoring the church? Doesn't she want to lessen the teaching of the Church of Serios?
Yuck, she's promoting Bernie's dad.
Love how Shez is like "no more nobles and commoners, hunh?" Like, sorry my man, but even in our supposed enlightened, modern societies, we still got nobles and commoners except now we just call them CEOs and wage slaves.
Oh, so the school phase is really over so soon. Probably for the best. I'm glad these routes changed quicker since I'm doing them all at once.
Whhhhyyy is she offering him a top post in her military? What did Shez do to earn that? This is a do-do bird who tries to get stronger by jumping off cliffs high enough to kill him.
Sounds like Hubert is crushing on Shez, since he insisted on this lol.

The game is all like "its not Zephia's fault, she was just manipulated by her feelings for Sombron and wanted to be a mommy" is what I mean.
Fire Emblem is often very sexist with its female villains and Zephia isn't even among the worst cases.
I never felt that way about Zephia anon.
Frankly ? All of her actions were done on her own agency. She choosed to follow Sombron even if it was because she wanted to be a mom. But there is many instances that show she could have choosed another way. She could have tried to stop Sombron when he killed his children, she didn't. SHE HELPED HIM. She could have tried to love Veyle and Marni sincerely, she didn't because she knew she could not have them all for herself. In the game, Zephia is clear on not having feelings for Sombron, she really just wanted to have a child because in her twister mind, only a child born from her ribs would offer her the undying inconditonal love she wanted.
Which is why I don't like how Heroes is going with her, because she is going to become what you describe.
As for FE being sexist with it's female villain, I agree when it comes to the modern one but you still find some that are decent. Hilda in Fe4 is a nightmare, Sonia in Fe7 makes me wanna punch her. Cornelia in Fe16 is surprinsgly comptent but Cleobulus is a man so ehm.
I think Zephia's storyline is clumsy, but imo, she had full agency and I think it's why the game doesn't try to redeem her since her last action was done just to piss Sombron off.
But I do see where you are comming from.
