I guess it's that time of year, again, when I ask folks to send me prompts(text is link to my ask box) for the 800-2k word ficlets I send out with holiday cards. (For those new to this, ficlets will get publicly posted to AO3 in Feb/March of 2025. And I usually post the rough drafts to Patreon, if you really can't wait.)

Things to keep in mind about prompting:

I do not anticipate to write every prompt I get, and multiple people sending in the same or a very similar prompt will not make it more likely to get written. (This does not mean you shouldn't send in a prompt.)

I don't write in any of my existing AUs, because I don't want folks to have to be familiar with a longer fic or series to enjoy a little ficlet with their card.

I am not currently writing Harry Potter for personal reasons. Any prompts sent for this fandom will be deleted out of hand. (This does include crossovers.)

I will 100% write a ficlet for my own OCs. I am not comfortable writing a ficlet with another person's OCs unless their creator requests it themself, and are open to me pestering them for more information.

I will write both shippy and platonic ficlets. However, these do aim to be family-friendly, since I don't know who's opening anyone's mail, so we aim for a generalised Teen rating.

If you've never seen me write a ship, but you know I'm in the fandom, go ahead and prompt it. (If it's a ship that I have no intention to write, I'll just quietly delete it, not here to insult anyone's joys.)

Yes, anon is on. Please don't give me a reason to change that.

You can also send your prompts to either of my multi-fandom blogs (batsutousai and the back-up bats-batsutousai) or my twitter (LadyMarvolo). You can also send them through my cohost (batsutousai) or bluesky (batsutousai), but I keep forgetting to check both of those places and don't know what sorts of notifications are turned on, whoops.

ok i wrote a little over 1k words today, somebody tell me they're proud of me :')

#THE TAGS ARE LONG SO BE WARNED!!!#and it's mostly ramblings so not a vent post #i have a good feeling about this draft #i mean i just started a new one but i have kind of a much clearer idea what i'm doing now #i have a notebook where i put a timeline of all the events and it's so helpful #though i have SOOOOO MUCH fantasy names and shit that i invented like a year ago and even though i have all the origins of the names noted #i have little idea how i got there #i even invented a whole calender that i'll use in this story (hopefully) and i'm so proud of this omg #i hope i get this draft finished one day bc it would be a really cool high fantasy book if i do it right yk #AND I'M SO PROUD OF MY MAGIC SYSTEM #it's reaaaaallly complex and i spend weeks figuring it out #though it's been a while since i wrote anything in this project and i don't have all the information on paper (in the notebook) yet #so the information is kinda spread throughout all the documents that i started for like little oneshots scenes and beginnings and stuff #and i have to find them all :')#but creating is soooo fun #but writing is a pain since march for some reason #i had a lot on my plate but also... that normally helped?#well i hope i'll get to write in september bc of semester break #i looked at my progress chart-thingy over the year and i wrote so much in feburary ;-;#i want this back plsssss #nowadays i only get to do like one poem in 2-3 days (and not even that!) and 90% of them are shit #ANYWAYS #thank you for reading all this if you did <3 #this was just me rambling lmao #i haven't posted much today aaaahhh but well i'm very tired and in pain :(#i wish weekends were longer man #period.cramps.are.shit.#personal

Okay mini life update since I’m about halfway through my gap year….

#so I don’t really know where to start #anyway for the past like 3ish months I’ve been very radio silence :|#mainly because of work #but also I’ve been busy doing uni interviews/prepping for them #I’m very much a person who likes to dedicate their time on something #and give it my undivided attention #so that’s why I’ve been slacking on giving updates and why my drafts keep on building up 💀#anyway i digress #exciting news I’m going to uni!!!!#and I’m going to do vet med with a foundation year :)))#it’s going to be a long six years #but I’m so excited to start my course #I found out like last week but it took so long #since I did the interview in mid feb and they said I would find out mid March #so when it got past mid march I was loosing hope 😭😭😭#anyway I’m so relieved that the uni process is over and I can’t wait for september to come #it’s going to be a really big adjustment going from my small city to a pretty big city but I’m sure I’ll cope #some other updates #work still sucks but it’s only for a couple months #then I see if I can talk to my manger about working when I’m on holidays #some other exciting news I’m going travelling in about 3 weeks so I’m very excited about that #and after this I might do one more trip maybe …#gatherrambles #gathertalks #thegapyeardiaries

Hanzawa masato’s life is not sad. He has perfect grades, a put together family, close loving friends, a great track record and resume. He’s not too poor nor too rich, not too reserved nor too out there, and he’s in perfect of health as he can be. Compared to his friends and family he’s normal. No detrimental mental illness no unusual circumstances. Eccentricities aside, he’s the normal one, and hanzawa masato’s life is not sad.

Hanzawa masato knows everyone else’s problems. Why not add being a therapist on top of his many duties. Giver of advice, taker of none, no one knows Masato’s problems. He doesn’t have any—he’s normal of course. He doesn’t complain because there’s nothing to complain about. The pressure he feels from his mother isn’t a problem. His worries about his brothers isn’t a problem. His worries about his friends isn’t a problem. His constant duties and obligations isn’t a problem. That twisting feeling in his gut isn’t a problem. His inability to say no isn’t a problem. His uncertainty in the future isn’t a problem. His lack of anyone to confide in isn’t a problem. He’s a therapist now, he can counsel himself just fine. Not that he needs counseling.

Ramón + family's party organizer™ 🎉🎈🥃 While making this I realized the contrast with the Arellano brothers partying in Season 1-2 versus their partying in Season 3. As far as it was shown, they went from smocking cr*ck in the nightclub (loool) to only having drinks and Mín already wanting to go home like the domestic man/husband goals he is :)) and for Món, it's even cooler to see this little progress his character made, like yet another piece showing his growth throughout the seasons, from teenage boy to adult man, and it's so subtle, but I like it a lot.

#I post in ways that would make jumblr scratch their heads #but also I wish there were less people I would have to worry about alienating sometimes #that’s not my intention but sometimes I think about systems of power + history + art and I have to save it for the drafts #Jesus is not my friend from art history anymore he hasn’t been since I had a very weird day at the mfa in like. march #like I had one of those Ferris Bueller Seurat moments in front of a painting of Jesus and I felt like I was going to die #it was right around the time I was obsessively researching the Holocaust and the actual material structure of the museum #+ it’s display practices made me really uncomfortable and I haven’t been back since actually #in the past year they’ve been trying to improve how they handle Jewish culture + art but they are. not succeeding in my opinion #also they’re working with like. every Israeli backed organization in Boston so that’s a whole nother can of worms
