can i request a fic where reader is a huge swiftie and now that 1989 TV has been released, reader is so excited and you're explaining to aaron about the songs, why taylor is re-recording (although aaron might have already known about it because he searched up taylor to keep up with your favorites because he knows how much you love taylor and her music and so he pretends he doesn't know because he can see just how excited you are to share your interest with him and he just looks at you with so much adoration as you react to the songs and talk with him 🥺💗) it could even be a pre-established relationship where he's just pining over reader, whatever you prefer to write!! if you don't want to write, then it's alright!! <33
“Hotch, you really don’t have to. I’ll be fine”
“No. I’m driving you home,” he argued, grabbing your jacket and handing it to you.
“But-”
“No buts,” he interrupted you. “I’m not letting you take the train, it’s raining.”
You gave up; partly, because he was stubborn and partly because you wanted nothing more than to be in the car alone with him.
The rain falling on the roof of his car wasn’t loud enough to cover the sound of the music that was coming from his radio. You didn’t recognize the song, but even if you did, you’d still have no interest in it. There were only a few very specific songs you wanted to listen to at that moment.
Aaron could probably see you staring at the radio, so you assumed that was the reason he made you an offer.
“You can play your songs if you want.”
“Do you really not mind?” you grinned, already opening your Spotify app.
“Of course,” he chuckled. “Go ahead.”
“Taylor released a new album and with work I haven’t had the chance to listen to it properly yet.”
“Is that why you had headphones on all day at the office?”
“I was lucky it was paperwork day.”
He shook his head in delight, and let you connect your phone to his car. You bit your lip trying to hold back a smile at the thought that he didn’t need to ask who Taylor was. And at the fact that you were certainly the reason why.
“How do you know the lyrics by heart already?” he asked, only one song in.
“Not all songs are new.”
“How does that work, I thought you said it’s a new album?”
“Okay so, it’s basically a rerecording of an old album. And she added a few new songs in as well. So even if it’s an old album it feels new,” you said. “She is rerecording all of her old albums that she doesn’t own. Because even though she wanted to buy them they were sold to somebody else. Someone who had not been good to her.”
“That’s terrible.”
“Yeah…But because she wrote them she has the right to record them again.”
“Oh…Good for her.”
“Yes. All Swifties listen to her versions.”
“Do they?” he said, laughing.
“Yes,” you said proudly.
“And which one is your favorite?”
“From this album?” you asked.
“Mhm…”
“I’ll just play it for you.”
It was hard to miss his shy smile when he saw the title ‘You Are In Love’ flash across the screen.
Maybe he was in love too.

The Tortured Poet's Department (Katie's Version)
basically i'm liveblogging this as i listen. talking into the void; this is more for me to reflect back onto than a genuine critique of the album.
Most excited for: "Florida!!!" "Down Bad" & "WALOL?"
I'm hoping that this album will sonically resemble folklore and evermore... more acoustic, stripped-back, and raw. I'm still wondering about the "✌️" imagery and how that'll play into the album... maybe feeling two-faced or double-crossed?
Fortnight (feat. Post Malone) - ok... rehab. uh oh. swifties have been calling her a drunk for a while... but nobody ever took it seriously. this must be about a rebound... i don't want to say MH. ugh i loooove how this sounds. like a more sober midnights. no pun intended... sorry. post malone was honestly such a genius move for this song- his voice sounds very youthful paired with hers... hopeful.
2. The Tortured Poets Department - YESSS 80's into!!! god i love this instrumental so far. (I use a typewriter!!!) holy fuck nooooo this has the charlie puth lyric. more wedding references.
3. My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys - ok. that charlie puth lyric left a bad taste in my mouth im trying to recover. i like that her vocal tone is a little darker here- would lower register apply for this? "he only runs because he loves me" real af i get you, queen. love that we've graduated to only having sandcastles instead of fortresses. these lyrics are also very ex-best-friend-coded... im projecting.
4. Down Bad - funkyyy okay. aww dun-dun-dun-dun! i wonder what mr kelce thought of all of this... oh, to be a fly on every single wall. yeah i like this one a lot. somehow also very 1989(tv ftv) coded. this sounds like denial into anger if we're still talking about the stages of grief. "like i lost my twin" is like "twin fire signs." i think she keeps seeing herself in her partners and feels abandoned when things don't work out.
5. So Long, London - ok intro eatssss down! this sounds like a driving-on-the-highway-song. i like how "talky" this is. it's very theatrical. this gives the sense that they (taylor and whoever this may be about) may have bonded over their sadness and the other party got upset when she started to heal. also, another reference to altars, but that may strictly be a religious metaphor.
6. But Daddy I Love Him - the intros are great. love the acoustic sounds. i really like this one a lot... this is a lot more whimsical and could almost fit on a Speak Now-style record. yeah, this is fantastic. such a quintessential Taylor Swift song. i'm terrified of how literally people (millennials on tiktok) are going to take this.
7. Fresh Out The Slammer - YUHHHH these intros!! ugh god i love a western motif. this is beautiful. this might be my favorite so far. i can't help but wonder what "time" she did. rehab, like previously alluded to? a rebound? a tortuous relationship? the period in a public career where one is constantly criticized and scrutinized? another ring mention.
8. Florida!!! (feat. Florence + The Machine) - huh. weed and babies. awesome! i agree, florida is one hell of a drug. "cheating husband..." uhokok. ok yes swamp imagery! yes southern/florida gothic! what shitstorm happened in texas? taylor please eliminate the urban sprawl in florida it'll give you more room to bury bodies!! pleaseee.
9. Guilty as Sin? - again. great intros. uh oh. is it just me, or does this sound like a 1975 song?? i like the production regardless. "we've already done it in my head" again real af. this song is real af. this is like limerence... these lyrics are kinda pushing the envelope, no? for taylor's standards, anyway.
10. Who's Afraid of Little Old Me? - another western-esque motif. we are scared of you taylor, i promise. contained scandal... oh? is this the cheating allegation??? this bridge was legitimately chilling. her reputation era was only a scratch on the surface. i think she needs a legitimate full-blown villain era (as a treat). i'm scared for track 13.
11. I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can) - moooore western motifs. yuh okay i like this one. more texas. what happened in texas? did anything happen in texas or is it just a placeholder? the vocals on this one are like velvet. "GOOD BOY"???? and the references to angels??? please. please. thank you, taylor.
12. loml - sigh. im not ready for this one. "better safe than starry-eyed" is a fabulous lyric. i can't wait to see that on fan merch everywhere. another reference to marriage. this is very reminiscent of "you're losing me." more rings and cradles. christ. loss of my life! loml.
13. I Can Do It With a Broken Heart - im not ready i dont think. the intro, again, is great. sounds like setting up the tour. i hope that this album was therapeutic for her. yesss i love this one actually. i love when artists do the sarcastic happy-sad trope. taylor, please know that 90% of the eras tour crowds was and is sympathetic; we were only cheering for you, not for what you do. yes key change! yes i love this one!
14. The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived - jehovah's witnesses mentioned. just wanting to know why is so incredibly valid and a universal truth, i think. this one left me with a pit in my stomach.
15. The Alchemy - chemicals... hospitals... i hope she writes an autobiography one day. touchdown! so this is a travis-era song? i like the sound design of this one.
16. Clara Bow - nooo im not ready. stevie nicks reference!! :) i don't think she's exactly regretting her fame, but certainly re-evaluating it here. we (media, society, swifties) need to leave her alone, please.
I hope that the creation of this album was cathartic for her; it feels intensely personal. I don't like speculating about her life, yet so many of these songs are extremely context-dependent. Most of all, I hope that she gets the healing she needs. She's such an important figure for so many people; more people want the best for her than don't. It's been very clear for a while that she's been suffering. Everyone breaks at some point... I keep seeing The Tower in my mind.

Hateration holleration, oddball selections:
MOTHERS' INSTINCT (2024): Peculiar drama-cum-thriller, set in 1960, starring Jessica Chastain and Anne Hathaway as suburban neighbors Alice and Celine, whose friendship is disrupted when Celine's young son Max (Baylen D. Bielitz) is killed in an accident. Afterward, Celine becomes unusually attached to Alice's son Theo (Eamon O'Connell), who was Max's best friend, which begins to make Alice very nervous. Does Celine mean Theo harm, or is Alice's guilt (she was watching Max at the time of his accident) making her paranoid? The way the plot plays out offers little tension and few surprises — it feels a little twist-deficient as a thriller, attempting to compensate with a surprisingly dark finale — and it doesn't offer a lot of motive for the eventual drastic escalations beyond "sometimes motherhood makes women crazy." Also, while one can see why Chastain and Hathaway were interested in these parts as actors, they both seem a little too old for their characters, and Anders Anielsen Lie and Josh Charles are both wasted as their respective husbands. CONTAINS LESBIANS? Early on, it seems like there's something between Alice and Celine, but the movie isn't interested in exploring or even acknowledging that. VERDICT: Grim and gloomy, but never very exciting, and it keeps flirting with the idea of making some kind of point about the sexual politics of its time that never gels.
THE POKER HOUSE (2008): Lori Petty made her directorial debut with this semi-autobiographical drama, scripted by David Alan Grier from Petty's story about an eventful and upsetting day in the life of a 14-year-old girl named Agnes (Jennifer Lawrence), growing up dirt poor in a rough, mostly Black neighborhood, where her mother Sarah (Selma Blair) turns tricks when her boyfriend/pimp Duval (Bokeem Woodbine) isn't running illegal poker games, leaving Agnes in loco parentis for her younger sisters (Chloë Grace Moretz and Sophi Bairley), who hang out at the local bar while Agnes is at school. The story takes some dark turns — it centers on Agnes being sexually assaulted by Duval — but because it's based on Petty's own life, it's never indulgently sordid, and, with the notable exception of Sarah, it has a lot of compassion for the people in Agnes' neighborhood, who are doing the best they can with almost nothing to work with. As a result, the film is heartfelt if not particularly polished. (Curiously, it was produced by prolific TV writer-producer Stephen J. Cannell, best known for detective and action shows including THE ROCKFORD FILES, THE A-TEAM, HUNTER, and SILK STALKINGS, with a score by TV perennial Mike Post.) CONTAINS LESBIANS? Nope. VERDICT: If you like Lori Petty and can handle the subject matter (CWs apply for sexual violence), it's worth a look.
THE RAINBOW (1989): Earnest but somewhat awkward Ken Russell dramatization of the last section of the 1915 D.H. Lawrence novel, set around the end of the 19th century, about a young woman from Derbyshire, Ursula Brangwen (Sammi Davis), who has affairs with both her swimming instructor Winifred (Amanda Donohue) and a young soldier named Anton (Paul McGann), while striving for financial, intellectual, and romantic freedom that her era doesn't offer or encourage, especially for women. It's sort of a prequel to Russell's 1969 adaptation of Lawrence's WOMEN IN LOVE, which follows Ursula and her sister Gudrun 20 years later. I have not read either novel, so I can't say how Russell's versions compare, but taken strictly on its own terms, THE RAINBOW feels like something director Stephanie Rothman might have made for Roger Corman in the '70s, with dollops of Second Wave feminist idealism in what often plays like an exploitation movie. The uneasiness of that mixture leaves no space to interrogate some troubling aspects of the plot, like Ursula's racist ideas about moving to India with Anton, or her violent outburst at a student in the school where she becomes a teacher. CONTAINS LESBIANS? Ursula is bisexual, and part of the plot deals with her relationship with Winifred. VERDICT: At the risk of undermining my literary bona fides, I thought it worked far better as an exploitation movie than a feminist drama.

so... this interview got me thinking.
J: Your fans are amazing fans. I will just say that. I know you said it earlier, but they obviously are so excited that you're here on our show, so we're getting a lot of buzz from your fans. And they were like, "Wait. What are they going to talk about? What's going on? I heard this. [ Blabbering ] "This is ten seconds long." There's Easter eggs that maybe aren't even really Easter eggs.
T: Yeah, it's sort of a tradition that we started a very long time ago. I think the first time that I started dropping sort of cryptic clues and things in my music is when I was 14 and 15 putting together my first album. And I wanted to put -- I wanted to do something that incentivized fans to read the lyrics because my lyrics are what I'm most proud of out of everything that I do, every aspect of my job, so I really wanted people to read the lyrics. And, um, when I was a kid, I used to leaf through CD booklets and just read the teeny, tiny print and just obsess over it. And so I wanted to incentivize them. So in my lyrics, for my first, you know, several albums, I would have all lower-case-letter lyrics, except for capital letter, capital letter, capital letter every once in a while. And if they circled the capital letter, and wrote them down, it spelled out a secret code, a secret passage.
J: That's so fun.
T: It was really --it was really fun, and it would either tell them a story about the album or a hint about what the song was about. And so that's when it started. But when it got out of control was...
[ Laughter ]
T: Yeah. Was when I started to realize that it wasn't just me that had fun with this, that they had fun with it, too. And I should never have learned that because then I couldn't stop. And then all I started thinking of was how do I hint at things? Like, how far is too far in advance? Can I hint at something three years in advance? Can I even plan things out that far? I think I'm gonna try to do it. The first time that we did a crazy video like that was a video called "Look What You Made Me Do," and I started playing with doing nods to former musical eras I've been in, in my career and all kinds of weird stuff for them to just go through the video and be like, "That over there! What's that? What's that? What's that? Does this connect to that? What does that mean?"
J: I do that.
T: Really?
J: Yes! I did that with "Folklore." I go, "Wait. What? Betty? What?"
T: There's a lot. There's a lot going There's, like, a fictional love triangle between three fictional teenagers in the "Folklore" album.
J: I know all about it.
T: There's all kinds of, like, really, really --Yeah, we go really into the weeds over it. And look. I think that it is perfectly reasonable for people to be normal music fans and to have a normal relationship to music. But if you want to go down a rabbit hole with us, come along.
J: Taylor is your person.
T: The water's great. Jump in. We're all mad here.
Which is a hint at Alice in wonderland. back when this first aired, everyone thought she was referring to the fact one of her bonus tracks on 1989 was Wonderland, it's also the name of one of her perfumes. this went with her first TikTok when she released Wildest Dreams Taylors Version... which Taylor Nation confirmed today was a hint at midnights and not 1989 TV.
Tumblr media
what's interesting to me about the use of this, is that Clocks go Tick Tock. it was her first tiktok! she's in midnights variant blue and the section of the song is "You'll see me in hindsight. Tangled up with you all night. Burning it down."
it's obvious she's been making a lot of references to night and fire. but also time. Time is the biggest component of this album. And it's the most important theme inside Alice in Wonderland.

she mentions her journals, she started writing them when she was 13. she has every memory written down on pages and she shared them with us. The Delux version of lover came in 4 volumes. 4 sets of journals documenting past and highlighting moments of love.
What if Midnights is the night before Lover? she did write Lover in the middle of the night.

Twenty One Pilots On Playing MTV Unplugged, Their Favorite Episodes And What They’re Doing Differently
The duo are the latest act to perform on the TV institution
Written By Daniel Kohn
MTV Unplugged performances, at least during its 1989-2001 heyday, were among the most watched and influential events in music programming. If you were on Unplugged, you made it. Though its influence has waned as artists have moved away from traditional television as a whole, the show’s legacy remains firmly intact. Now a quarterly event, MTV enlisted Twenty One Pilots as the next artist to perform on MTV Unplugged.
The show is unlike any other Unplugged predecessor. Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun don’t “unplug” in the traditional sense, but they stripped down their songs to create completely different versions than what’s made them radio staples in the past half-decade or so.
A day before they recorded their set in front of an intimate audience at Exchange in downtown Los Angeles, we caught up with the band for a quick chat at a nearby hotel where they broke down all things MTV Unplugged and what new wrinkles folks could expect on their episode.
SPIN: What does playing MTV Unplugged mean to you guys, considering the legacy and the history of the bands who have played it before?
Tyler Joseph: It’s pretty cool to be a part of it. I think that it’s got a long history of showcasing an artist or a band in a new way. On its surface, it feels like you should just be playing on an acoustic guitar. More than anything, this series has turned into being able to see an artist or a band in a different way than they traditionally present themselves. Taking an opportunity like this, to reinvent how we would present ourselves has been challenging, but also, in a sense, reminded us of why we love to play music. Sometimes you can get into this rut of just performing your shows the way that you’ve always performed them. And then when you’re forced to kind of rethink how to present them, you kind of fall in love with them into the songs all over again.
Josh Dun: MTV Unplugged has been such a cool form of discovery. People who talk about Unplugged will often reference a performance that actually got them into the band. It’s a cool way to get inside of an artist’s performance and see it in a different light.
How long does it take to rehearse and get a show like this prepped compared to like a regular performance?
Joseph: About a month and a half. It’s not like we’ve been rehearsing for that time, but mentally prepping. The concept that we’re applying to this is, it’s kind of unplugged, but it’s almost the opposite of unplugged, where we’re plugging in all of our instruments. Traditionally, Josh and I perform to pre-recorded tracks so that we can focus on our performance and connecting with the audience. What we’re going to do for MTV Unplugged is we’re actually going to build out and play each part of the track in real-time, looping and building out that track. By the end of the song, there will be new and different versions of our songs that’s never been heard before. There was a whole roadmap of “How do we pull this off? How do we learn the technology?” But then also, the creative side of what do we want these songs to become and making them sound really unrecognizable at first until we start saying the lyrics. It really took a lot of planning before we even got into rehearsing it. That’s why it took longer than you would think.
What was the first MTV Unplugged episode you watched as a kid?
Joseph: The Nirvana Unplugged. It’s crazy. Alice in Chains was amazing. More recently, I watched the Liam Gallagher one. It’s a long list of awesome artists and bands. And we’re excited to throw our hat into the ring.
Liam Gallagher one or the Oasis one?
Joseph: Liam, why what happened on the Oasis one?
[Shows them a video of Liam heckling Noel from the audience]
Joseph: Maybe that’s how we’ll open our set. I’ll start in the balcony.
Dun: Perfect!
How did you decide on that one?
Joseph: When the music video was released, it was at a pivotal moment in our career. We were still very much a local band, and seeing that video just rocked us. When that song came out, right around the time where we really put our heads down and decided we’re going to do this thing [the band]. The timing of it has always been a part of our journey, so we thought it was cool to commemorate that.

I'm sorry but Kaylor Tumblr is an echo chamber right now, and dumb echo chamber at that.
Everyone including Swifties have been bored of the pap walks Taylor has been doing with her friends since after the first two or three she's done after dumping Toe, nobody wants to see Taylor do the same boring pap walks with the same boring people at the same boring restraunts while the vast majority of people think that her current street style looks like complete crap.
Swifties were so bored of all this boring shit that Taylor's doing for the 1989 TV rollout that a lot of them were coming up with wild theories about how there is going to be a secret B-side to 1989 TV that has vault tracks with titles that don't sound boring as shit and collabs with actually cool and interesting celebrities. The excitement Taylor drummed up for Swifties with the Google vault puzzle didn't even last that long, the excitement all died off within two hours of Taylor announcing the vault track names and Swifties went back to coming up with "theories" to try and make 1989 TV and everything around it less boring.
Taylor bearding with this football dude was actually a good move for her to make because now Swifties aren't bored to death over how lackluster the rollout for 1989 TV is anymore and now she's got the attention of people who wouldn't be interested in her without this dude as potential new consumers of her products and the only downside of her doing this was pissing off a miniscule section of her fandom, Gaylors, who have a major issue with too many of them acting like awful over-entitled brats because she's her own person who handles her closet exactly the way she wants to instead of coming out of the closest for the benefits of others even thought Taylor's indicated in her most recent album Midnights that coming out of the closet just so others can benefit is something she has zero interest or intention of doing.
Hello, anon. So, let me see if I got it right. You think everyone was bored and that's why Taylor had to get a beard? That he'll solve all the problems by keeping swifties occupied and boosting her sales? I don't even- lol first, if your fanbase is so thirsty for news or entertainment that they can't sit still for a few weeks, something is wrong in the way you handle them. She's either sending the wrong signals, spoiling them with too much content to the point that when one thing happens (like the vault to solve), they're already antsy for the next thing. Did they forget about the year she spent away?? Maybe they need reminding. If you kept up with her during 2014-2015, you'll remember what it was like the 1989 era - she did promote that album a lot. It worked and she didn't need a guy for it, how crazy. What I think most ppl around me are saying, is that she's the Taylor Swift. She doesn't need a man to boost her numbers. Sure, she's reaching a new territory and a new audience with this stunt, but she doesn't need it to make big bucks. She's at the top of her game, she's reaching a new high every day. Just check the charts or how her concerts are sold out. Not to mention that 1989 is an era based on her being single and happy, her preaching all around about having fun with her friends and enjoying life without a relationship. That seems to have been thrown out of the window now. She could do better promo if she wanted to, bc we've seen it before. Now it seems like even if she just dumped her last beard in the first semester, she can't go more than a few months without a guy. What message does it send, anon? Ppl have every right to be annoyed, even if we do understand she's doing it for even bigger numbers and to have a wider audience. Most of us have been here for years keeping up with her story. As far as I've seen, no one is being an asshole demanding her to come out or whatever. They're just wondering why this same old story again. You're allowed your feelings and opinions, anon, but remember, so are we.

hey, feb anon here
sorry for not messaging for a couple days, i meant to but kept being distracted and forgetting, sorry
yeah, i think that i might watch the new ant man movie cause i do like those ones, but overally marvel and disney+ just annoys me now, especially since everything i want to watch is on it and i don't have it (yes i may be slightly bitter, but no mind)
i really need to get round to watching the amazing spiderman movies, they seem really good.
oh i love the songs maisie has on the trying soundtrack, especially party and i want you to change. the list is also like one of the most comforting songs ever, i listen to it all the time when i'm feeling bad.
i think right now my favourite maisie song is details. i love the ones where she's just being really honest about not necessarily being in the right and being kinda mean and rude and abdigfahbab i just love the song
like yeah, i don't want to hear about the mixtapes, or the cigarettes she smokes, and i don't want to hear about the one time you met up in that park we'd always go, so i'll ignore her and she'll be really nice to me, and i know i'm being bitter and jealous and mean.
sorry i've gone on about maisie for too long now
OH WAIT, SHE ANNOUNCED THAT THE ALBUM NAME IS THE GOOD WITCH, AND SHE KEEPS USING TORNADO EMOJIS WHEN POSTING ABOUT THE ALBUM, SO I THINK THERE'S GONNA BE LOTS OF WIZARD OF OZ IMAGERY AND LYRICS AND YEAH I'M REALLY EXCITED
ok yeah, now i'm done with the chatter about maisie.
derry girls is amazing, i'm watching it as i'm writing this actually! if you haven't tried it yet then you really should, it's absolutely hilarious!!!!!
i have to get around to reading djats, it sounds really good.
ok, onto taylor. i appreciate the support for my top three, and it hurts my heart to see people hating on my beloved coney island and labyrinth. no taste, they have absoluteluy no taste.
i am most excited for speak now when it comes to rerecordings because it has some of her most intense songs, both lyrically and vocally, so hearing her grown up 33 year old voice when she's belting in haunted and dear john and mine and sparks fly is something i'm so excited for, not even to mention hearing a 33 year old taylor singing dear john and innocent and never grow up with 14 years to have spent looking back and growing up and learning. it'll just be amazing.
when it comes to vault tracks, funnily enough i think it's 1989. because we know now that she was struggling a lot with her mental health in that era, but she didn't really want to release songs about it or talk about it in the public eye like she does now, and the only song on that album that even gets close to adressing stuff like that is clean. but now, i think she will feel more comfortable talking about that and i think there will be a lot more emotionally intense songs, or just songs referencing those situations. like how in red tv we got things like nothing new and forever winter, that she never would have released in 2012.
also, by that time in her career she was a lot better about not having leaks occur, so we really have no clue about possible 1989 vault songs, unlike speak now or debut.
i haven't watched any of the movies or tv shows you said but i'll have to check some of them out. i'm really excited for maybe a trailer from pjo series as well though!!! i can't wait!!!!!! i think that you would write an amazing book!!!!!! but i get the whole not being able to actually get the ideas down on paper. i started writing a couple stories (ff) in 2021, and i haven't updated them since februrary of that year, which is slightly crazy, but yeah that's how long it's been.
omg, i just realized what day it is.
exactly two years ago yesterday, i was watching a gyoutube video where the woman making it went off on a tangent about how amazing and heartbreaking the song dear john was. i immediatly went and listened to the song, over and over, and then watched every reaction to that song on the internet. then i, over the next few months, listened to the entirety of taylor's discography. goddamn, i can't believe it's been two years, that's crazy.
good thing i did though, it's the reason i even know who you are and am sending this message.
anyways, wow that was a lot of rambling, i swear when i write these on a computer it just completely gets away from me and i end up writing a ridiculous amount
hey maybe you should try writing your stories in asks to your friends, i can vouch that it makes you write a ridiculous amount.
how are you doing today? and how was your valentines day? i hope it was good and i am sending you flowers and chocolates and little heart pillows and just general happiness.
so yeah, i hope all is good with you and this puts a smile on your face.
and hey, you are over halfway through februrary, and i am so incredibly proud of you <3
hiiiiiii
yep absolutely the amazing spiderman movies are my faves but prepare for a lot of tears in the second one (sorrry!)
i really love the list i just saw a video of her performing it when i was on tiktok and details omg i really love when songs are a little mean!! like high infidelity and skip that part by x ambassadors ft jensen mcrae (that one is really mean!)
the good witch is such a great name for an album and i really really really love the whole album cover for it! i'm very excited for it and the rest of the imagery and sound especially saying the songs sound like spells and hexes (ahhhh more mean songs pls!!)
coney island and labyrinth my beloveds <3 and omg i love how you found her through reaction videos there's so many now especially with more people listening to album tracks! dear john is still my favourite track 5 and until folklore/evermore and onwards, speak now has always had my favourite vocals from her albums and i can feel like speak now tv vocals could be so incredible especially her deeper tone on songs like last kiss and haunted and innocent and never grow up omg it's going to sound like an older sister singing it to you
i too am most excited for speak now tv (duh!) but 1989 has always had my favourite deluxe tracks so the vault i have high expectations and i didn't think about how it could have songs like forever winter (thats my favourite vault track rn) and i really hope sweeter than fiction gets a chance to be on 1989 tv (and safe and sound and eyes open get to be on speak now tv!!)
i hope you had a good day! did you take part in valentunes? that was really fun for me and how is it already mid feb??? that means you also got through it and i'm really happy you sent that first message <3

What do you think of the idea that this was PR for SNTV so that everyone would be paying attention to the Nash shows?
oof. okay, first of all, and this isn't aimed at you anon, but everyone has gotten way too comfortable using the term "PR" inappropriately, to the point where it's meaningless, because you get people online saying everything they see ever is PR when that's simply not the case and a lot of things are just...humans living life who happen to do so in the public eye. but the whole point of the concept there is some benefit. this is not an instance where there's benefit of publicity - trolling potential aside, because that would serve a different purpose - all eyes are already on her.
she knows fans pay attention to the shows every week (even the ones like me who aren't viewing the livestreams! i read along with the updates as they happen but haven't watched, others might check in the next day due to time zones or busy schedules, and so on), no matter what we all know what happens and what surprise songs she plays and what she might've said, and we know very quickly. every entertainment and music outlet is paying attention. an album announcement would make spectacular noise and immediately be reported no matter what.
furthermore, stoking romance/personal rumors, if anything, takes *away* from the announcement, it doesn't add to it - hence the internet being in a dither about matty rather than only being focused on excitement over SNTV. why on earth would she intentionally court speculation and rumor that distracts from an important project? moreover, why with someone who undeniably would be controversial and cause anger/annoyance? how does that help her? (answer: it's irrelevant to her if she likes him.) i'd be slightly inclined to think it was a silly joke for the sake of 1989 TV and a potential collab if she'd announced that album instead, but everything about the optics, especially given very recent events and history, has such overwhelming negative downsides with really no upsides as far as press and reactions go. so PR for SNTV specifically makes very little sense to me, versus her being in a do-whatever-i-want-with-whoever-i-want moment (which, let's be real, is not out of character).
it's either a (perhaps ill-timed and unclear) bit of shenanigans between chaotic friends or it's...whatever it is, and we're going to be living with that rebound reality for a bit. he took a very long trip to get to a hometown show for her...we're gonna have to face what that means, particularly after not seeing the person we thought we should have seen on opening night. i didn't want to read into that absence before, but unfortunately information is now what it is. (me @ mr. bowery: you should've been there! you should've burst through the door with that, "baby, i'm right here" smile!)
the announcement of SNTV would've happened last night no matter what, i'd lay odds she's had that planned for the first night of nashville for quite a while. the matty of it all is a wrinkle, not a boost. the only thing i hope is that it doesn't have any negative ramifications for her (not necessarily in the press, but in her personal life. having fun is fine, i just don't want her to be hurt anymore than what's already happened, you know?).
ultimately, what we all have to remember is that boundary - we don't know her directly. we have no say or influence over her decisions or personal life. that doesn't mean we have to like them, but we have zero input into her making those choices. all we can continue to do is what we already do, support her artistry, wish her the best, and cherish her music.

Hey! I was reading some of your harry readings and i like how you do this. I also liked how you were excited about the bafta red carpet looks lol.
I wanted ask something that's been bothering me for quite a while now. It's not a relationship question tho, not in a romantic way. I am a fan of Taylor and Harry both and I love their friendship. But ever since 1989 TV came out I wonder where they stand now. Do you think they're still friends? Or do you think Harry has developed some kind of resentment towards her?
Ooooooo drama
lol as a Swiftie first and foremost I am delighted to answer this question. I’m going to draw 1 to see where their connection currently stands
REVERSE SIX OF SWORDS oooo sounds like there is a little drama there. Things are unresolved.
Specially, I’m also going to ask if the 1989 vault songs were what caused this:
REVERSED FIVE OF SWORDS interesting! Without even looking at the meaning, I think the answer is a clear yes. Like not only does this card preceded the other one, but it’s also reversed. Clear connection between our two questions in this reading.
Ooooo but reversed five swords can also indicate negotiation and compromise….it’s the opposite of conflict…and suddenly I am reminded of the Very Strong Rumor about Style Remix featuring Harry Styles…..wondering if something went down during negotiations there that’s left unresolved conflict….
And thank you for your positive feedback 💕💕

WELCOME TO THE ERAS TOUR!
summary: the eras tour comes to the devildom! how excited are they for the hottest show in town? pairing: demon brothers (excluding belphie and beel) x gn!reader, suggestive (asmo) a/n: hi my name is rose and ill be your host this evening :p this has been a long time coming.. :0 sorry for the puns. i will take any chance to relive the best night of my life. hope you enjoy I had a lot of fun thinking about the bros going to the eras tour bc they r just so silly. apologies for not including belphie and beel, i love them but not enough to write them </3
Tumblr media
LUCIFER - evermore (ivy, marjorie, happiness).
-> Lucifer does not understand the hype around the eras tour. Loud and large events arent really his scene, but he goes to have this shared experience with you. He values its importance because you are so excited and he would do anything to keep you smiling at him like that.
-> Leading up to the concert, to get him excited you gift him some of her albums on vinyl that you'd think he enjoy. I think he would really love folklore and evermore because of their instrumentals. I also see him enjoying Lover songs. If he is less perceptive to listening to her albums, start playing piano-only versions of her music to lure him into discovering other parts of her discography.
-> As I mentioned before, Lucifer would prefer piano instrumentals, impressed that the meaning of the song is still conveyed without knowing the words.
-> To make him less grumpy take him on a Taylor Swift mjuseum tour!! I think he would appreciate learning more about Taylor's life before connecting to her music. He also just loves a good tour.
MAMMON - reputation (i did something bad, dress, new years day).
-> Girl the amount of debt he owes to witches triples when he learns that you like taylor swift. prepared to be spoiled with taylor merch and lots of it. (he definitely has bets on what surprise songs she might play).
-> Mammon is more of an r&b kind of demon but I think he can still appreciates the different genres taylor has explored.
->i can see him resonating a lot with fearless (golden color -> grimm/how it feels when you look at him), reputation bc what if one day he leans into the scumbag roll his brothers assigned him? it's also the love album of taylor swift albums.
->He'll “never” let you know his true feelings about Taylor but it's obvious he likes her because you do. Days leading up to the concert you hear him humming melodies of her songs- of course he'd learn the setlist for ya, he wouldn't embarrass you- himself by not knowin’ the words!
LEVIATHAN - 1989 (TV) (new romantics, how you get the girl, wildest dreams).
-> Let's be real, Levi bought you the tickets because he understands the hype and needing to see your favorite artist in person. Plus, you would do the same for him. However, he is super nervous about being in such a giant crowd. He goes back and forth about wanting to go- surely you’ll have a better time with someone else right? Give him plenty of reassurance that he is the one you want and all will be well!
-> Goes all out for the costumes. He makes the perfect couples costumes for you two to wear and you guys slay! It’s more song themed than you guys trying to look hot (think evermore tree)  At the show everyone is complimenting your fits- Levi gets embarrassed when you give him credit for the costume work.
-> Omg all his karaoke sessions instead of anime songs it's Taylor songs now. I see him being a 1989 girlie because of its high energy. Similar to Lucifer, I think if there are any anime rendition covers of her songs or any video games Taylor related he will love it lol. I'm picturing like Taylor Swift meets Hatsune Miku Colorful Stage.
-> Overall is so happy he went, is super impressed with the choreography and stages Taylor set up for her different eras. Congrats Taylor! A new swiftie has been obtained.
-> Omg side note- he definitely is able to get the rare merch (like the cardigans) and will wait all day for any contests/enter so many giveaways just for you.
SATAN - red (TV) (state of grace, better man, run)
-> I think Satan finds out about Taylor Swift before the Eras Tour was even a thing because of some cat themed merchandise of hers that you were wearing. Learning of her love for her cats gets an easy Satan stamp of approval.
-> Satan learns about her history and delves deep into her lore and how the entertainment industry works in the human world. He finds it fascinating that there are a lot of hollywood/entertainment industry mysteries. I can see him taking a particular interest in old Hollywood unsolved murder cases.
-> As for his favorite album, I see Satan loving Red, the songs on that album have that fall study vibe and delve into more angstier emotions. I see him appreciating evermore and folklore as well for their storytelling ability.
-> At the concert, he is there to vibe with you but is on the chiller side. Will only consider dressing up if you really want him to do (and its cat related (see: the person who dressed up as Taylor’s character from cats))
ASMODEUS - midnights (maroon, bejeweled, vigilante shit)
-> Asmo is def going with you to spend time with you and for the vibes, he can’t turn down a good party! He feels a bit jealous with how excited you are, like he could do the Eras Tour right at home for you <3 Only during and after the show he understands your excitement; Taylor is gorgeous and ate her performance. His favorite sections were Lover and Vigilante Shit <3
-> Another incentive for Asmo to go is the promise that he can dress you up! Similar to Levi, he loves a good costume moment. However, he goes for the looks to kill approach instead of cosplaying different things in her songs or her previous outfits.
-> Asmo will learn most of her music but doesn’t really care about that- he’s there to see you look adorable and record you having the time of your life. He swears there isn’t anything more enchanting than when your favorite era begins.
P.S. - the friendship bracelets with the brothers go hard. you make their own individual ones with their name and signature color

Thank you for thinking about me ! That was so sweet ily and I love seeing you on my dash 💙
Lately life have been complicated, study were taking all of my time and especially energy ( engineer's study  are hard and really draining ), but it's finally the holidays since last Sunday for two weeks ! But on Monday my dad was hospitalized, probably because of an secondary effect of his treatment for cancer but we still don't know what does he have. But I've got to see him today !! He was doing not so bad ( probably thanks to the morphine ) and I hope the doc are gonna find soon what the problem is ( it's apparently not because of his cancer ).
On music news, I'm obsess with The funeral from Yungblud, idk why but this song is so...( I love the" what a shame shame shame " part ) and with a song from Pink Floyd:  High Hopes. It's amazing, I love the bells sound and his voice.
And I'm excited for 1989 tv ! For me it come at 6 AM the Friday but don't think I'm gonna listen to it at that time, I'll be probably too tired to enjoy properly ( made that mistake with Speak Now TV ). But how can I resist my curiosity about Slut! ?
I hope you're doing well bestie, How's life treating you ?, and since I'm curious what are some of your favorite Halsey songs ?
Just wanting to share one of my favorites lyrics from a song in French:
"On peut s'enfuir bien plus haut que nos rêves "
( which mean :We can run away far higher than our dreams) ( don't know if it make any sense in English)
It's from Toi + Moi from Grégoire
I'm so sorry it' hasn't been easy lately hun, I hope everything goes well in the coming few days ❤️ and ooh 6am is too early for music sjsjsjs I think I'll be in class when it drops :/ really curious about slut too like what is it gonna be like!!!! Im good, it has been a whirlwind month and not entirely bad tbh! Absolutely can't get enough of sorry and 1121 right now, but all time favorites are roman holiday, is there somewhere and finally beautiful stranger!!

Hi! I'm sorry I haven't replied! I just like to take my time thinking of a response. I hope that's okay! Aww don't work yourself too hard! I hope you're getting some rest and that your doctor's visits went well! That sounds like hell dealing with it. Ya I think I remember being awake almost 24 hours when Red TV released or close to it..haha. plus the album is so long! But anyway I would agree that Red is probably the best. Cuz Nothing New and ATW 10 are two of my favorite Taylor songs of all time! I didn't even like the original song as much as everyone else at all but the ten minute version means so much to me! The extra verses and outro adds so much. However I wasn't as impressed with Message in a Bottle and The Very First Night at first..but now I like them. Forever Winter is one of my favorites too. When I heard the Speak Now vault for the first time, it felt like I loved more of the songs instantly but then maybe they're not as good as I thought now..but they were all pretty equal hearing them in a row and I still like them a lot. I'm wondering what it will be for the 1989 vault..maybe a mix since it was never my favorite, or maybe the same..cuz there's only 5 songs but I'm so excited to see. I still have some left over from my concert I plan on wearing and that's good enough but I admire how many you've made. That's so awesome. I'm planning to watch both I think so I can tell you how it is if you want. It's exciting that you have things coming up though! When is your birthday? I love knowing other people's birthdays.
Idk if I had a favorite show to act in but I had the biggest part in Seussical as Yertle the turtle. But I didn't like it cuz I had to wear a wig. But my favorites overall are Charlie and Alice based on the stories. Unfortunately I can hardly remember any of the songs though but maybe from Seussical. So you were never in any musicals? Where does your love of theatre come from? I'm curious cuz no one elsein my family besides my sister likes it really and they don't know anything about Broadway. That's also why I liked Theater Camp cuz it showed the perspective of her son not liking theater lol and it reminded me of my brother. I wonder if people who don't like theater would still like it but then I feel like they wouldn't get all the jokes or references.
So I actually think the Gatsby musical seems pretty good..better than I expected based on what other people said. There's three videos I saw and I agree maybe that the opening number could be better..it did not really match Gatsby vibes to me so far though. It did show Nick halfway through at least. I still don't know how I feel about the casting though. Maybe it's cuz I have seen the actors in other things so it's pretty hard so far and they weren't in costume and that might help. I think the choreography was at least good. The second video was Daisy's solo and it was short but showcased Eva's vocals and it almost reminded me of her in Miss Saigon. This song references the beautiful fool line. The third was their duet song which references the green light. Honestly I am only vaguely familiar with Gatsby from the movie, and it just reminded me of Happiness lyrics lol. The duet actually kinda reminded me of Something to Believe in from Newsies but I think it's just a me problem and cuz he was in Newsies. That also might be why I can't picture him as Gatsby yet. I guess the music was okay but it didn't wow me or anything and just wasn't like Gatsby. Someone made a comment that said they're trying too much to make it a love story and that might be a problem. I think the Florence version might do something different to that and I'd be interested to see how. I would wanna see what a song from Nick will be like. But I still have hope for it by the time it gets to Broadway and still love the cast but the comparisons might make it worse..but then hopefully you'll at least enjoy one of them!!! I'd like to know your thoughts on the rest and if you still don't like it, that's fine, but overall I still thought the cast was good.
That's cool you're going to see the Band's visit! It's another smaller show I love. I'm sure it will be great along with seeing Hadestown. I read a rumor on Reddit that his replacement will be Jordan Fisher but idk how true that is and how he would be. I think Reeve had a specific voice to the character like in Wait For Me or the ahhs but I enjoyed the tour as well. The Orpheus I saw had a smoother voice and was also black..so maybe it will be similar to that and I think I would still wanna see how he sang the role. What do you think about that? I am also still planning on seeing the Les Mis tour in two weeks hopefully and I will update you! So it will be the eras tour next week, then Les Mis and then 1989 TV!!! I guess it's a pretty big month for me haha.
Well I still thought Our Year of Maybe was good..I liked the writing and story at first but by the end I just wasn't sure how I felt about it. I still liked some parts of it. The book is about a girl that donated a kidney to her best friend she is also in love with and how their relationship changed cuz of it. I I still thought it was interesting but idk if I would still recommend and I think she has better books. Apparently she announced a Today Tonight Tomorrow sequel! There seems to be a lot of sequels in books now and I will put For the Throne on my list too. This book has been on my list forever so I'll have to finish it by then. I also think this is the first book of hers that I was familiar with and I think I'll like it more. I read the first few chapters before and remember relating to the main character loving romance so I'm excited. But I'm still planning to read You'll Miss me when I'm gone first and finish Business or Pleasure. I do plan on reading all her books eventually though and I will let you know how You'll Miss Me When I'm Gone is. How do you feel about the sequel since I think you said it's one of your favorites? I thought I should let you know in case you didn't. Anyway I will finish Some Mistakes Were Made by tomorrow and let you know my thoughts. I know you said there's no pressure but I'm gonna make time tonight..I think I only have 5 chapters left. Then if you are still planning to read The Night Circus again..I can start that for this month as well. I am planning to finish more books this month. Also I would love the Taylor songs books list! I saw there is one called Enchanted to Meet you recently that matches the witch prompt so I might add it to my list but don't know many others. I hope I didn't forget anything but as always don't worry about replying if you're not feeling well! Although I hope you continue feeling better like you said you were starting to. 🩷
hi!! no worries for taking your time replying 🤍 i hope you had a great weekend!
my week of doctor's visits are now over, and now i have to wait for results and then maybe we'll get some answers (or not)! but i'm feeling much better already now. nothing new is so so good; i do like all too well 10, but i think i listened to it way too much when it first came out that now i have to be in a really specific mood to listen to it (also it's just long), but the lyrics are so good! i really like message in a bottle, and the very first night too! i think my favorite vault tracks from red are forever winter + nothing new, and then maybe message in a bottle since that was one of my surprise songs! i think my favorite fearless vaults are that's when, and we were happy, and then timeless and foolish one from the speak now vault! i've made about 62 bracelets now (my original goal was 40), but i think i'm going to aim for ~ 75 by friday, and then take about 50 to the movie on friday (so my friend can have half to trade too), and then the rest on sunday! my birthday is december 16th! when's your birthday? 🤍
i actually don't know seussical that well, but i feel like everyone who has been in a production of seussical loved it. and yes, i was never in any musicals! but i love theatre, and grew up going to shows — i also think that it helps a lot that i was named after cosette in les mis! my mom and i would go to a show every year once we moved to the states (we saw a few shows in hong kong, but tours don't go there as often). the first show i really vividly remember seeing is phantom, when they were in hong kong, but that was the third musical i'd seen! i also wondered that when watching theatre camp, but am unsure if how many non-theatre people would watch it! (i did spend a good chunk of the movie wondering who was linked to waitress, because someone sang a bit of when he sees me for their "audition", and then there was the waitress poster + playbill in several scenes, then was like hmm noah galvin was ogie but that doesn't feel right, then went maybe just ben platt, and then remembered who molly gordon's mom is haha).
i read gatsby in high school (read: i lived and breathed it for a few months because i had a big presentation + paper on gatsby)! i want to reread it and re-annotate it now, as an adult (like ten years since i first read it 😵‍💫) he really doesn't feel like gatsby to me, but we'll see if he grows into the role? i just think there were a lot of ... choices made ! but either way, i was always more excited about the florence one so here's hoping that one is good!!
wait i didn't know about the t3 sequel omg!!! that's so exciting! i really liked t3, it's very much like a ~ love letter ~ to seattle and makes me feel so so nostalgic for my own high school experience (well, more specifically, we had a celebration after graduation and i got really close with someone who is now one of my best friends, at that celebration. not as fun as howl, but still very special to me!) and yes!! still down to read the night circus! waiting on my friend to send me the copy she annotated for traveling book club, but if you want to start that i can catch up whenever it gets here!
i saw enchanted to meet you the other day at the bookstore — you'll have to let me know how it is! i really liked meg cabot's the princess diaries (which i adoreeeed as a kid)! and off the top of my head (i'm sure there's a lot of them that i'm missing, especially self-pub/indie books) here are some books named after taylor songs (i haven't read all of them):
this is me trying by racquel marie
begin again by emma lord
long story short by serena kaylor
never getting back together by sophie gonzalez
don't want you like a best friend by emma r. alban
call it what you want by brigid kemmerer
never saw you coming by erin hahn
hope you have a great week!! 🤍
