FE3H Mistletoe Headcanons
I know I said I was gonna chill on the Fódlan, but… I couldn’t leave y’all without your mistletoe headcanons. So here’s some sugary shippy sweetness for Christmas (or your weekend), featuring: Edelgard/Dorothea, Linhardt/Caspar, Ignatz/Marianne, Dimitri/F Byleth, Hilda/Marianne, Ingrid/Ashe, Seteth/M Byleth, and Bernadetta/Dorothea!
You can find last year’s 3H ones here if you’re interested! Otherwise, please enjoy the ones you see here!
Edelgard/Dorothea:
Dorothea is the kind of girl who is going to get what she wants. So if she wants that kiss from Edelgard, she’s going to get it. The only problem is that Edelgard is a private person and not the type to just go for it openly. So Dorothea has to strategize how she’s going to get that smooch. Late at night, Dorothea receives permission (gets Manuela to distract Seteth and Rhea) to use the cathedral. With a bit of help from her friends, she is able to decorate the pews. She invites Edelgard to meet her there, and when she arrives, she begins to sing a holiday love song in Adrestia. She even starts inserting Edelgard’s name into the song where she can, making her turn pink. The song seems to go on forever until, through song, Dorothea tells Edelgard she’s going to have to kiss her to shut her up.
So she does. The kiss was intended to be short and sweet, but the moment their lips connect, they’re alight with passion. Before long Edelgard’s fingers are tangled in Dorothea’s hair, and the singer is smiling into the kiss. Just according to plan.
Linhardt/Caspar:
Neither of these dummies even know that the mistletoe is there until they’re under it. They’re probably just bickering about something random in the Dining Hall, when Dorothea, trying to hide her smile behind her hand, points out that the two of them have wandered just under the doorway that has mistletoe hanging over it. Neither of them really clue into what it even means for a moment, until Petra loudly exclaims her knowledge of them needing to kiss because of her studies. Caspar is embarrassed at first, trying to process exactly what happens, but Linhardt honestly could not care less and tells him he thinks they should do it.
“You did used to talk about marrying me when we were quite little, you know.”
And so, Linhardt presses his lips ever so softly to Caspar’s, trying not to snicker at the way Caspar flushes bright red and can’t talk for a minute after.
Ignatz/Marianne:
I feel like once Marianne and Ignatz are together, Marianne absolutely becomes his muse. So their mistletoe moment is actually something that happens late at night on one of the decorated balconies, while Ignatz has just finished a painting of Marianne peering over the edge. They’re on their way back into the building when Marianne notices that the doorway to that particular part of the Monastery has mistletoe hanging above it. The two of them can’t help but blush a bit, but Ignatz is more than prepared to ask nicely if he could kiss her. Marianne, with a voice as smooth as silk, agrees and leans in to kiss him softly. As their lips connect and they begin to enjoy each other’s warmth, Ignatz suddenly feels as if he has a new idea for a painting.
Dimitri/F Byleth:
I feel like Dimitri and Byleth’s happens when Byleth is visiting Faerghus. Dimitri has been showing her around in one of the villages, and as much fun as they’re having, Byleth is starting to get a little chilly. She asks Dimitri if they can stop and take a break for a hot drink in a nearby restaurant. He agrees readily, but as they open the door to the restaurant and step in, one of the first things they discover before they can even speak to a hostess is that mistletoe is hanging from the ceiling. They can do nothing but laugh, wondering if the family running the business did such a thing on purpose, or if they just thought it would make a cute decoration.
“Still, tradition is tradition,” Byleth reminds, leaning in and puckering up jokingly. Dimitri chuckles softly before leaning down to meet her lips, gently cupping her face. Even the restaurant staff can’t help but smile at the sight of the happy couple.
Hilda/Marianne:
In the interest of preserving Marianne’s privacy, I feel like Hilda probably tried to make it pretty subtle. The last thing she would want to make her love upset, after all! After a great night hanging out together in town, laughing and eating sweets, Hilda invites Marianne back to her room for a cup of tea before they both retire for the night. They aren’t in there for long when Marianne notices the mistletoe hanging from the ceiling. Face flushed, she asks if Hilda just has it there for decoration.
Hilda, wanting to be open, says that she had it there because she was hoping to get a cute girl under it for a kiss. She asks Marianne if she’s willing to be that girl. The blush in Marianne’s face deepens as she nods, and Hilda places a soft, sweet, quick kiss on her lips. Hilda flashes her a smile as soon as it’s over — and gets caught by surprise when Marianne goes in for more.
Ingrid/Ashe:
These two book-loving, knight-loving dweebs were probably having a book date when theirs happened. Hours and hours were spent at the Garreg Mach Library, poring over their favourite books. The date is still ongoing when Ashe flips through the pages of “Loog and the Maiden of Wind” to try and show a passage to Ingrid, but he notices that someone has pressed some mistletoe between the pages. He can’t help but smile as he lifts it up and holds it over their heads.
“Would you mind?”
Ingrid blushes, but smiles herself. “Not at all. I mean, you could say that it’s fate.”
Flashing each other one last smile, they lean in and allow their lips to meet. The kiss is shy, but nice, and lasts just as long as they can make it — until Ingrid thinks she hears Seteth’s footsteps in the hallway.
Seteth/M Byleth:
This one is not plotted by either of the couple — you guessed right: this is a Flayn incident. She hangs up a little mistletoe in Seteth’s office with a trigger trap (with Auntie Rhea giving her a boost, of course), and then tries to lure both Seteth and Byleth there, mimicking each other’s handwriting in notes to get them to think that the other one sent a note about meeting in the office. In spite of her potentially wobbly hands, they seem to buy her penmanship. When the two of them arrive for their discussion, Byleth makes easy work of accidentally triggering the trap. As the mistletoe falls from the ceiling, Seteth is immediately embarrassed. Byleth, on the other hand, is loving it. After a little bit of teasing, Byleth is able to convince Seteth to give him a kiss. As their lips connect, around the corner, they can hear Flayn’s giggles.
Bernadetta/Dorothea:
Bernadetta is a tough nut to crack when it comes to mistletoe kisses, mostly because everything makes her shy or embarrassed. That being said, she’d like to initiate a mistletoe kiss with Dorothea, because she knows it would make her happy. She resolves to make it a happy but subtle occasion. So, she bakes a chocolate cake with a little faux-mistletoe garnish to sit on top, and invites Dorothea to have a slice. Dorothea is more than happy to oblige for her Berniebear, and she loves the presentation so much that she sets aside her little garnish to keep as a memento on the plate. Bernadetta, though, takes her own from her cake and holds it up above their heads, smiling sheepishly. Dorothea giggles at the sight, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear and pressing her lips to Bernadetta’s. The kiss is long, passionate, and tastes of chocolate.

I put off watching the rest of the three hopes supports because I was convinced I’d go back and play the other routes besides Scarlet Blaze but after over a year of waiting I finally accepted that probably won’t happen and decided to watch the support between my two favorite female characters: Hilda and Dorothea. Overall, the support was cute although I do wish it had a bit more substance to it, but anyways here were my takeaways.
1. I like how Dorothea’s wearing a bracelet a fan bought her. I think this shows the appreciation Dorothea has for her (non creepy) fans. Dorothea also likes to feel as if she’s helping people and I think this gift would make her feel proud that she’s able to offer this young woman some comfort during the wartime and so Dorothea’s excited to tell people about the origin of the bracelet (it’s the first thing she says when Hilda asks about it) because it’s proof that she must be having some sort of good impact on others and I think this would be Dorothea’s favorite part of being a diva.
2. The contrast in how the two talk about how nice the bracelet is, Hilda: “Looks valuable...Wish I had a big fancy bracelet,” Dorothea: “It is rather nice.” Not sure exactly what this says about the characters, but I find it interesting how Hilda is so fixated on the value of the bracelet while Dorothea seems to downplay that. I think it may show that that isn’t what Dorothea’s focused on and she would have worn it proudly even if the bracelet had been cheap. This also calls back to the Hilda/Leonie support in houses where it’s clear Hilda didn’t care much for sentimental value.
3. Hilda deflecting from her skill by saying she’s “not much of a craftswoman” and instantly changing subject. A big part of her character is not wanting people to realize her talents to avoid expectations and this fits along with that. By contrast in their second scene she openly admits to struggling to make a bracelet. This may seem like it goes along with what happened previously, but I think it requires a much greater degree of trust and shows how their relationship has progressed. In order to reach the point where Hilda is asking Dorothea for advice, she must have told Dorothea about her ambitions in this hobby and given Dorothea some sort of inkling about how hard she works. By showing Dorothea the bracelet she is struggling to make, she is risking letting Dorothea down, something she is deeply afraid of but willing to do due to the trust they have developed (wish we could’ve had three scenes so we could actually see the trust develop but for some reason warriors was super opposed to three scene support chains)
4. Interesting to hear them talk about the healthiness of certain cosmetics. Not really an important detail but it’s still interesting to hear about in a fantasy world which typically wouldn’t discuss these things.
5. I love the idea of Dorothea getting the opera company to support Hilda’s new business.

I'm the Miu anon. Glad ya got a kick out of it.
I was gonna request even more, but I had already put in, what, 5 or 6 requests at that point. I tried to space it out but holy shit, there were FAR too many ideas in my head for me to not take the opportunity.
You're certainly dedicated, I can tell you that much. If I did this daily, I'd be burned out by the end of the first month. So good on you
Also fun fact: I'm the same anon that started the whole "first kiss, turns out S/O is an amazing kisser" trend here on this blog (requested for Dorothea, Hilda, Miu & Mina), which I didn't expect to be this popular with the regulars.
It really made my day. And it's such a really creative way to send in an ask, I'm very impressed! I also thank you for not flooding my ask box with all your ideas (which are probably equally creative and I'd love to write them one day).
I figured that I'm closing the ask box anyway, I might as well let you guys send for all fandoms since I'm probably going to keep the ask box closed longer than "needed" for the asks to get done so I can take a nice break too~
And you really started a whole chain with that request 😂 (it is a very cute request).

Ao3 Ship Thoughts
To sate my desire to read Three Houses fan fiction and jump in on the shipping comments that have upticked recently, I decided to see what ships were the most popular on Ao3.
Some of it's exactly what I expected, and one in particular is just . . . what, why?
Ao3 is probably the closest you'll get to truly determining which ships are the most popular, or at least have the highest number of passionate fans. So I was curious to see who the top ships were. Here's the ones listed, in order:
Sylvain/Felix
Dimitri/Byleth
Edelgard/Byleth
Ferdinand/Hubert
Claude/Byleth
Dimitri/Felix
Dimitri/Claude
Felix/Annette
Caspar/Linhardt
Hilda/Marrianne
If I exclude the Byleth ships, Dimitri/Dedue, Byleth/Seteth, and Ingrid/Sylvain take up the three missing spots.
Byleth's Ships
I'm shocked. Really, truly shocked that Byleth/Lord is popular. Never wouldn't guessed. I am, of course, being sarcastic. If someone asked me to list who I think would show up in the top 10 most popular ships, the first three I'd list would be Byleth/Lord.
What I find more interesting is that Byleth/Seteth is the fourth option for Byleth. AO3 writers, I officially bow to your taste. It pleases me quite a bit that, if you're not going with one of the main lords, you all want Seteth. This I can agree with.
As for the Byleth/Lord ships, I feel kind of mixed on them. Every lord interacts with characters who have more depth than Byleth, but I still get the appeal. I'm going to deep dive into all of the lords relationships with Byleth later, but here's a quick summary.
Edelgard/Byleth is shoved down your throat so hard it's nearly impossible to ship Edelgard with someone else and even shortchanges her potential to have deep, non-romantic relationships because Edelgard puts Byleth on a pedestal that no one else can reach by her own dialogue.
Byleth's character arc works well alongside Dimitri's. While the relationship is pushed and fanservice-y scenes exist, the game leaves enough breathing room to see Byleth as a mentor/therapist/teacher figure, and Dimitri has no shortage of deep, meaningful relationships with others should you not want to do the whole self-insert thing. It's a good balance.
Claude and Byleth are the opposite of Edelgard and Byleth. They read almost more like friends than lovers. It's a breath of fresh air, honestly. Claude/Byleth seems like the healthiest possible romance for Byleth/lord because the lord in question here doesn't seem as dependent. That said, it lacks lacks romance and shipping fuel. I may complain about fanservice, but the Byleth/Claude dynamic does show why scenes of holding hands in the rain and teasing about badly drawn images might actually come in handy.
Edelgard's Ships
I'm not surprised, at all, that Edelgard has no popular ships outside of Byleth. Dialogue consistently shortchanges Edelgard's relationships with others by having her verbally, repeatedly put Byleth into a special "other" that no one else can reach for her.
Though, I guess I'm a bit surprised at the extreme lack of Edelgard/Hubert. I feel these two have a lot of shipping fuel and their supports left things unresolved. I've come across the sentiment in fandom many times that ship where things are tied off nicely with a bow leave less to explore and aren't as interesting, so I am bummed out no one seems interested in fleshing out Hubert/Edelgard more.
The outlook for Edelgard fanfic and me seems pretty limited. I don't like Edelgard/Byleth for various reasons beyond this scope of this post. I was kind of hoping there were some Edelgard/Hubert or Edelgard/Dorothea character study stuff that could help me get past how much Byleth gets in the way of Edelgard's character growth, but it seems fanfic writers only want to write about her and Byleth, which is a bummer.
On that note, I'm also surprised but also glad that Dimitri/Edelgard isn't a big thing. I thought it might be because tragedy of childhood friends turned enemies by events out of their control is popular. These two seem wildly incompatible though, so I'm glad people seem to agree.
Claude's Ships
Ok. Claude/Byleth. Expected. I'm feel positively towards the ship since they seem mostly good for each other even if it's not getting my heart all fluttering.
I'm surprised there's no Claude/Petra or Claude/Hilda. Those two are my personal favorites for him. I would've given Claude/Petra the edge given how they can uniquely relate to each other, but Hilda's scene in CF really gave Petra a run for her money. Even more so that Petra and Claude have obligations to two different nations and Hilda has no such complication.
But whattttt???? Claude/Dimitri? It's in the top 10?? More people ship Dimitri with Claude than Dedue?? I thought lord/lord might be popular, but I honestly thought Dimitri/Edelgard would take it, not Claude/Dimitri. They never really talk. So I'm a bit confused about this one. Though, intrigued by the idea.
Can I take a wild guess this partly stems from Claude having no real other viable M/M ships outside of M!Byleth and fics that plays up the chapter I'm about to play in AM (Dimitri saving Claude) or "what ifs" VW routes where Dimitri doesn't . . . you know.
I am really curious about this dynamic though. Because I like Claude - a lot. He's a character I want to get attached to. From experience, the fastest way for me to like a character is to give them a significant relationship I enjoy with a character I already love and the new character gets absorbed by proxy. So, fans, please, tell me more about this Dimitri/Claude. I am curious.
Dimitri's Ships
I am as unsurprised by Dimitri's being one of the biggest repeat offenders on here as I am by Edelgard being Byleth or bust. If Edelgard is written to fanservice the player by making the self-insert her one and only, Dimitri is fanservicing the player by being a shipping magnet. The writers knew what they were doing and who they were trying to appeal to with these two characters.
Dimitri/Byleth is a given. The game plays up the romance angle, but it's not at the expense of Dimitri's other relationships.
What I'm more interested in, though, is Felix/Dimitri. Between angsty CF stories, post-AM slow-burns, or fleshing out missing scenes from their shared childhood, there's just a lot to work with and a rich context to use their relationship - spun romantically - to explore each character. Felix and Dimitri's relationship is layered, complicated, heart breaking, and potentially healing. The fact they're two incredibly attractive guys doesn't hurt its popularity either, I'm sure. I'm not surprised it ranked that highly.
Claude/Dimitri surprises me. If two lords were going to get on this list together, I would've put bets on Edelgard/Dimitri. Since Claude and Dimitri's relationship is fairly unexplored, I'm really interested to see more about what exactly this is about. Don't get me wrong. I figured people would pair two main characters who are that good looking together, I just didn't think it would rank that high.
I am, slightly sad, that Dimitri/Dedue isn't a bit higher, but happy it seems to have some steam. I get it though. Dedue's not as flashy as some of the others on the shipping list and their relationship is so full of fluff by their A support it lacks the angst Felix/Dimitri and Dimitri/Byleth can draw out nor is as much of a play around with "what ifs" as Claude/Dimitri is.
Non-Lords/Main Characters Ships:
This list, more than anything else, shows AO3's penchant for writing M/M and F/F works for better or worse. Whether this phenomena stems from lack of representation, fetishizing by the fanbase, deeply ingrained gender roles making fictional M/F ships either less appealing to many fanfic writers, or M/F romances often getting assumed leading to less substantial writing compared to friendships - I don't know. Probably all of it.
There are a few surprises here for me. Felix/Sylvain is that popular? I figured they'd make the top 10, but #1 is surprising. Though, looking through the first page of the tag, it's true Felix/Sylvain have fics just for them, but it also seems like a common pairing in Dimitri/Byleth and Dimitri/Claude fics. It's the same story with Caspar/Linhardt, who I honestly didn't expect to see. They had a fair number of their own fics, but it seems many CF fics put them together rather than focus solely on them. Felix/Annette also balances being the main focus and an adjunct pairing. Marianne/Hilda seemed to have less fics where they took center stage and more they were one of many ships listed.
Ferdinand/Hubert having a lot of fics isn't surprising. I don't really care too much for it personally, but I can see the appeal of it.
I'm surprised Catherin/Shamir is nowhere in sight. Likewise, Rhea is absolutely nowhere. Kind of sad by the lack of adult characters in general. Especially Rhea. I think it's a pretty big sign of how the writing's treated her that such an important character is totally absent in this list.
Not surprised at all to see Felix also get so many ships. He, like Dimitri, seems designed on purpose to ship with many characters. I do really wish Dorothea and Seteth would get more attention though.
What do you guys think? Anything that surprised you? How do you feel about any of these ships and there popularity or lack thereof? Are there characters/pairings you wish got more attention? Any popular ships you despise (spill that tea)?

just curious, what’s your favorite and least favorite character design? my least fav for sure has got to be female byleth for reasons i don’t want to get in to yep ok have a good day 😁
IOops this accidentally became a rant, sorry
Okay so, to preface this all, I’m not a character designer and I’m actually pretty bad at it, but my rule of thumb with really unappealing or fan-service outfits is whether or not it makes sense character-wise and how much it tells the player about the character. For example, I think we can all agree that there’s quite a bit of fan-service elements in Hilda’s design. Boob window. However, it’s not unrealistic to imagine Hilda picking out those clothes for herself. Her costume tells you almost everything you need to know about her character on a visual level. She’s confident, pretty, attention-grabbing, and high maintenance while the gloves and laced girdle give a nod to her Viking-maiden roots.
Taking it to female Byleth, I don’t think that her outfit works on either front. Her design is definitely my least favorite and it’s not helped by the fact that you have to look at her at all times. Whatever. The huge, solid mass of boobs, the buttoned bib, the big eyes, the feather hair, the bellybutton, the ripped tights, the booty shorts. She’s a merc out in life and death situations with an accessible, pale, tacky 2000′s “stab me” stomach cut out and a wedgie. Which could be excusable if, like Hilda, there was reason to believe that that her costume was character choice. But she doesn’t really have much character, and what there is gives the impression of a very stoic, dry, blunt person. I have no idea why they’d have gone that route when the sexual appeal of more “utilitarian” costuming (aka, form fitting armor that at least pretends to be functional) for characters like her is scientifically proven AND would say more about the singular personality trait she possesses. Okay, well, I know why they didn’t do that and I think it’s lame. This dysfunction of “character designer wanted a sexy girl but it’s kinda random and just shoved in the game without any thought” actually reminds me a lot of Xenoblade 2′s leading ladies, Hikari and Pyra. Although considering that their bad designs led to a lot of people hating the game for superficial reasons while accepting female Byleth’s design, I guess I’m just bitter. Jumping to a different comparison, then, look at 2B from Nier Automata. Her design is fine as hell which is kinda hypocritical of me considering that it's explicitly fan-service, but I think it also shows the most damning thing for female Byleth. Her whole look, despite having a dozen different element thrown in, is boring. Maybe it’s the colors (dressing her in all black and white would have been really interesting considering the colors of the three lords are so heavily emphasized as a part of their characters) or maybe it’s just the way the desperate elements come together. But, like I said, I'm not even slightly knowledgeable about character design and I know that despite Three Houses being mostly separate, they had to appeal to a larger aesthetic brand to which I have little experience with. And, ultimately, a lot of people find her cute or sexy which...To each their own, I suppose. I don’t pretend that fan-service doesn’t work on me (2B... Cloud’s arms in the remake... Seph's shirtless Smash skin...) but when it’s this obviously inserted in by the character designers rather than feeling organic in any way AND looks bad I'm just not super interested.
The other worst designs for me would be all four of the Ashen Wolves post timeskip. I don't think it's controversial to say that they didn't try with the clothes, even if I love their designs from the neck up (Yes, even Balthus. He looks like the type of guy that would let you sit on his shoulders at a rock concert so you could see the stage). While there are other designs I think are unappealing, those are for purely aesthetic reasons and so I can't maintain the opinion that they're actively bad or that I even truly dislike them.
As for favorite looks... I actually have a few so sorry you're getting all of them because despite the shit I'm talking, I actually really really love the character designs in Three Houses.
Ferdinand's post timeskip is one of my favorite designs, if not my favorite. The hair, the coat, the armor, the spurs, the colors. You know exactly who Ferdinand von Aegir is just by looking at him. He’s wealthy, handsome, confident in his appearance, a hero, a princely type character, his battle form is mounted combat which is traditionally aesthetically reserved for nobility and leaders... I love it. The only reason I cannot say he IS my favorite is because of the three Lords. But before them, my honorable mentions include post timeskip Hilda, Dorothea, Lorenz, Felix, and Hubert. Granted, I could make a case for why I like almost all of the student’s post timeskip looks.
For the Lords, I obviously have to start with colors because, weirdly enough, Persona didn’t invent primary colors but are actually used as shorthand. Blue is the color of honor, loyalty, sincerity, sadness, and depression. Something I’ve always found very interesting is that blue is very rarely found in nature. To me, that’s always made it seem more lonely which, at least in this case, is thematically relevant. People call Dimitri boring pre timeskip and while I won’t defend his hairstyle (okay, actually, I probably would because he tucks it behind his ears and idk why but that’s one of the cutest things ever) I really like how unassuming he is. Bland. He’s supposed to be the plain shortbread cookie to caramel deLite Claude and strawberry meringue Edelgard. It is not in his character to draw attention to himself or stand out. To me, he kinda looks like an old Barbie prince, like he should have been named Dominic. Also I love the blue eyes/blonde hair thing and his more angular features. It really helps to sell him as the fakeout chivalrous prince type. Post timeskip, Dimitri's black armor is amazing. I love the fact that it’s a lot more intricate up-close with the different little shell-like pieces and the fact that his boots are furry. I love the big cape and the black and white fur around his shoulders. It’s really cool how they used his costume to change the shape of his in-game model to match the bodily proportions of the character art. It’s easier to see when you change his costume into the DLC ones, but the fur and cape build up his shoulders and chest look more broad while keeping that tiny little waist. The choice to give Dimitri an eyepatch is probably my favorite thing about this design. It’s genuinely inspired. Such a simple detail yet it tells the player everything they need to know about adult Dimitri when they see him post timeskip, in one frame the player can begin to understand the extent of his loss over the past five years. The subtle shadow under his eye in the first few Azure Moon chapters and the messy long-ish hair really help to sell the feral prince aesthetic as well, as it’s from those small cues the player gets that he’s exhausted (in more ways than one) and doesn’t maintain himself. None of these things are intentional choices by Dimtiri, they’re the result of what his character has been through.
Yellow is an intense, energetic color. Mostly, people think of it as being warm and inviting, the color of the sun and positivity. That intensity can be overwhelming, though, too visually demanding when compared to its primary counterparts. Don’t stare at the sun too long. Buuuut, it’s okay to stare at Claude. Claude not wanting to wear tight pants in either of his costumes is not only a mood, it is iconic. Pre timeskip, the softer lines of his silhouette makes him look kinda slouchy, kinda lazy. Like he’s not too concerned with appearances. But those adorably messy curls, the little braid, the clearly tended eyebrows, and earring make it clear that he DOES care about appearances and is very aware of his allure. And that’s before he even starts winking. It is honestly so in character that as many people picked him first on the basis of being thirsty, that feels like an intentionally Claude thing even if it was inserted by the designers. The contrast of his complexion with his seagreen eyes is gorgeous and instantly adds a kind of mystery and intrigue to him considering the setting... but it’s sf funny that nobody looked at bronze god Claude among a sea of white faces and thought something was up. Post timeskip, they used the same trick like they did with Dimitri to change Claude’s in-game model to match his canon appearance. The way they designed his uniform makes him not look as twink-ish, like he’s actually muscular and imposing and has the strength he’d need to shoot a war bow with a 120lbs draw weight. Also like Dimitri, you can instantly tell what Claude’s been up to. Like, he was very pretty pre timeskip but when he shows up in the Goddess Tower after those five years in all that gold, he demands your attention. Like a gentleman general with the excessive aesthetic ideals of the Alliance and details to imply his heritage. The quilted pants are amazing from both an aesthetic and practical standpoint. He’s a mounted unit riding a creature with scales, of course he’d want something on his legs for protection. And the chinstrap. I love that so much, it definitely makes him look more adult. He’s got such a cute soft baby face, it’s fun imagining him experimenting with different styles during the five years to get the most desired physical reaction to him as a leader.
Frenchfries, meet forehead. No, actually, Edelgard’s design is really fantastic. Claude and Dimitri both have realistically colored eyes and hair and then there’s Edelgard. Dimitri shrugs off attention physically and Claude shirks it with a wink but Edelgard commands the players attention from the very start. Although I’m sure there’s a lot of things to associate with white hair and purple eyes, my first thought was Daenerys from Game of Thrones. Otherworldly beautiful by with an edge. Red, of course, is The power color. Strong emotions, love and hate. Red is also associated strongly with blood, which is very important to Edelgard’s plot. Granted, I think the red and black association is even more powerful than JUST red and red is the cheapest play to make in regards to displaying villainy (I mean, there are some pretty universally recognized associations with red and black and it led to people making some unfair comparisons between Edelgard and a famous dictator) but I think it was effective and well used and I genuinely enjoy its use in her case. Anyway, if I had a major complaint about her design it would be the weird ashy color of her hair whereas Lysithea’s hair is pure white. Which doesn’t even matter with the AMAZING hair horns. Ram horns can actually symbolize quite a few things, but their association with power and strength is pretty universal I think. They’re also used in demonic imagery. I love that THIS was her alternative to a crown. Edelgard views herself as a force of war and power before she thinks of herself as royalty. She also mentions that she isn’t super vain, but she loves to do her hair, so the hair being the most elaborate part of her look is entirely in-character. Edelgard’s ensemble is, like Claude, very militaristic. I love that they kept her in a dress that embraces femininity without showing skin as that wouldn’t really suit her Also, again, Edelgard demands your attention. She’s dressed all in bright bright red waving around a giant axe. She is a symbol as much as she is a combatant, someone to follow. I didn’t really mention their secondary lord costumes, but a girl in sexy armor is literally everything and I love that they had the balls to put their main sexy waifu girl in full body armor.
Okay I’m sorry I realize this was excessive and probably didn’t need explaining and I’m not sure I even articulated my thoughts properly but anyway I love their designs so here is the positivity I’ll put into the world.

more reasons golden deer is the best fe house:
equal amount of male and female students, and house with the most commoners
especially since i would argue that the other house’s commoners don’t even count: ashe was adopted by a powerful lord, and will inherit that title, mercedes was born a noble and relinquished her title, dedue is the prince’s close friend and retainer, and dorothea often complains about being the only commoner in black eagles but is a wealthy and famous singer: all lack titles, but all are (presently) wealthy and well connected. (there’s also petra, who the game calls a commoner but is recognized as a noble in universe)
by contrast, the golden deer does have ignatz, who is from a wealthy and well connected merchant family, but also raphael and leonie, both of whom are explicitly stated to be in debt and must succeed in order to provide for their families/village. raphael sold his family’s home and goods to pay for his schooling; leonie’s whole village gathered money for her and she also needed to beg for a letter of recommendation from her local lord.
(it also seems that if cyril has a “canon” house, it’s probably golden deer — most of his supports are in GD, including the lord character, and claude keeps dragging him into cutscenes post timeskip whether or not he’s recruited. cyril is an child soldier turned indentured servant turned normal servant, and a minority: he’s not even allowed to attend the school he works at as a student!)
and, unlike dorothea who is made to be aware of her “lesser” status even though she is wealthy and famous, the golden deer do not fucking care about status. claude is sensitive enough to his own outsider status — the rumor is that he’s secretly a commoner that lord riegan propped up because of his distant blood ties/crest — that his attitude probably influences this, but like. even lorenz, the most class conscious of all of them, is happily interacting with raphael and leonie and ignatz in their c supports: he eats with raph, he encouraged ignatz (and uses his awareness of the class system to, essentially, offer to become ignatz’s patron to give him an excuse to do what he wants), and is not only bossed around by leonie but openly calling them friends. in their c support. none of the golden deer are at all exclusionary or even curious about the backgrounds of their friends!
there’s also the fact that the golden deer are not even a little crest obsessed, which is a leicester thing: of the five ruling lords, ordelia has never had a crest, and it’s not clear if edmund does or not (marianne is adopted, and a distant relative). judith is a legend in the alliance and former great lord, and has no crest — no one in house daphneal has had one for several generations. it also seems to be implied that holst doesn’t have the crest of goneril, given that he foists his weapon off to hilda at first opportunity, and everyone loves holst. but this also means that crest status is pretty irrelevant in the alliance. we never hear of drama like with ingrid or hanneman, both of whom have family histories of arranged marriages and (in hanneman’s case) a sister being more or less forced to have kids for The Bloodline. hell, marianne has a crest and just never mentions it for six years, and no one even cares enough to ask.
the alliance is not class conscious or crest snobs. and you know what else they are? a non absolute monarchy! look at edelgard and dimitri. look at how the moment one decides to go on a brutal campaign of war, no one can stop her, and the moment the other snaps and leads his men into countless losing battles — dimitri on grondor field in VW is just such a tragedy, just a man so blinded and desperate that he throws his and his loyal friends’s lives away; he barely even reacts to their deaths — and everyone is so bound to the ideas of chivalry and absolute monarchy that they just let these wars happen, let human experiments and war crimes happen, not because everyone is ok with it but because absolute monarchies are terrible!
meanwhile in the alliance if claude was like hey let’s go to war at least half the other lords would punt him into the ocean. like literally the first half of VW is claude struggling to get a winning majority in order to be allowed to declare war against edelgard. he spends months, you spend months, running little campaigns to appease the other lords, sending hilda and lorenz and lysithea home to politic, negotiating with merchants, and finally getting a yes vote to fight. and the game frames it as gloucester being a coward and minor villain and i mean, the dude sucks, but guess what! this is good! it should be hard to declare war! “maybe we can have peace with edelgard” might have been gloucester being a coward but should also have been debated!
they’re not a real republic, since it’s inherited titles and limited to five lords, but it’s a biiiiig step in the right direction. (ferdinand is always talking about how his dad is prime minister but that makes no sense as clearly the emperor isn’t at all bound by a parliamentary system, edelgard does whatever she wants). like, i will take a ruling council that actually debates and argues instead of just doing what their leader wants over an absolute monarch every day!
in conclusion: the alliance is not classist, is not beholden to elitist systems, and doesn’t believe in following the orders of an absolute leader, or in one person having the power to make decisions unilaterally, and also in claude’s ending card he isn’t posing dramatically or slacking off in an orchard but hosting still more diplomatic meetings, and this is why he is the best lord and the golden deer are the best house
i will now open the floor for questions

{Nothing is better than some girl love. I didn’t add Manuela because she doesn’t have a support with Shamir, Catherine, nor Rhea}
༓ʚ Sugar, Spice, and Everything Nice ɞ༓
Summary: What it’s like being in a poly relation as the girlfriend of these beautiful women
Tumblr media
༓Mercedes ♡ You ♡ Annette ♡ Ingrid  Annette was the one who suggested it when everyone found out that they all liked each other, Mercedes was the most open to it while Ingrid was hesitant because she wasn’t sure how all of it would work
There is a lot of physical affection between everyone (hugging, holding hands, kisses)
Mercedes and Annette both will enjoy trying to dress you and Ingrid up, much to the latter girl’s pleasure
Dated with Mercedes would involve making sweets or having tea together, dates with Annette are more of being dragged to places by her rather than having an actual date, while dates with Ingrid might involve going out to eat at places or reading together
Ingrid is going to be the most protective when it comes to all of you, especially people’s views on the relationship that you all have.
Tumblr media
༓Dorothea ♡ You ♡ Petra ♡ Edeglard ♡ Bernadetta Petra is the one who would suggest it with Dorothea being the first to agree and accept it, Edelgard isn’t sure because she’s worried about not being a good girlfriend to any of you with how busy she gets, and Bernadetta was terrified of people’s opinion and possible judgment.
Petra might invite all of you to meet her family which all of you were be nervous about, especially Edeglard with the history of using Petra as a hostage.
After all of you started dating, at least one of you would always be late for something because all of your lovers have such long hair, and trying to get ready when they are styling their hair is nearly impossible.
Dates with Dorothea typically would be shopping, dates with Petra usually end up with her telling you stories of her homeland, dates with Edeglard would be quiet walks, and dates with Bernadetta are always the same; eating cake together as she writes and shows you the finished pieces,
No one dares to say anything negative about the relationship because they would have to face Edeglard’s wraith
Tumblr media
༓Hilda ♡ Lysithea ♡ You ♡ Marianne ♡ Leonie Hilda or you were the ones to suggest it while everyone else was unsure, Lysithea didn’t care about it while Leonie felt a little awkward at first over the whole thing, and Marianne would become stressed over the idea of not being a good lover.
It is common knowledge that all of you, even Lysithea, is Marianne’s cheerleaders since all of you try to cheer her up.
Hilda is going to make jewelry for everyone, each having their style everyone.
Dates with Marianne are quiet where both of you silently enjoy each other’s company, dates with Hilda are probably going to be shopping, dates with Leonie are going to be either training or where she shows off her skills, and ones with Lysithea are relaxing quiet study dates.
Leonie and Lysithea are going to be the most defensive and protective when it comes to the relationship, and any idiot who says something will have to face Leonie’s anger, Lysithea's magic, or Hilda’s strength
Tumblr media
༓Catherine ♡ You ♡ Shamir ♡ Rhea  It might be a little shocking but both Shamir and Rhea came up with the idea, Catherine had no problem with it.
It’s hard to find time together so when everyone does, usually all of you relax and enjoy each other’s presence.
Everyone but Rhea will have to deal with Flayn harmlessly teasing you guys about it or listening to Manuela talk about the struggle of being single, and it got annoyingly bad enough that Cathinere avoids Manuela in hopes of not hearing any more.
Dates with Catherine typically training ones while dates with Shamir are lazy days where the both of you can just be in bed, and dates with Rhea usually end up where you’re being spoiled in some way or another, she finds more enjoyment and relaxation by watching your face lit up from joy than anything else.
It is both a death wish and a stupid idea to say anything bad about your relationship because each of your lovers is a powerful woman who will not allow words/behavior to pass
Tumblr media
༓Constance ♡ You ♡ Hapi No one is sure who suggested the idea but Constance was the most open and excited about it while Hapi was mainly indifferent.
There will be days where you and Hapi watch Constance work while sometimes you assist in her work as Hapi watches both of you.
It’s not often that people won’t see one of you guys without each other due to how often all of you are together, in fact, to see one of you guys alone tends to mean a fight or something bad had happen.
Dates with Constance usually are study dates or where you help her out with work while dates with Hapi tend to be relaxing ones, typically ending with both of you taking a nap.
Not only would someone have to fear Constance or Hapi’s anger to any nasty comment directed at your relationship, but also fear Yuri and Balthus getting involved, and if none of that scares someone, Hapi will just sigh

angel (chilling adventures of sabrina)
summary: as the only pure mortal in the fright club, there seems to be an influx of interesting things happening in greendale that you are unaware of. a certain prince of hell happens to find that interesting.
warnings: typos, probably.
a/n: ummm maybe i binge watched caos this past week and maybe i’ve fallen in love. i’ll let you figure that out. also this is my first time writing for caos (and not marvel, lol) so let me know what you think!!’ pls give feedback thank u.
add yourself to my tasglist!
ps: this gif is mine so if you use it, please credit!
When all was said and done, Sabrina and Caliban had come to amicable terms regarding the shared responsibility of ruling Hell.
It didn’t take much convincing for Caliban to relinquish his prior ambition after learning his rule would end within a day, as the Pagans would have defeated him and taken Earth for themselves. Sabrina’s ability to show him the time loop she was once trapped in gave him a reason to quit the fighting and rule Hell on an equal scale, no questions asked.
Plus, he started to like the bleach blonde witch.
You, on the other hand, felt like you had missed out on the most important plot piece of the greatest film of all time.
While Harvey, Theo, and Roz had known about Sabrina’s secret since her sixteenth birthday, you were left in the dust about the shenanigans that went on around Greendale. You were truly the only mortal with no magic or witch ties, but the other four couldn’t say the same. Sabrina was a witch, Theo’s ancestor Dorothea often visited him in time of need, Harvey’s family had a history of witch hunting (which he does not partake), and Roz’s ability to foreshadow the future with a simple touch proved to be more useful than she had originally thought.
You were a mortal. A regular high school student whose biggest problems were studying for four AP classes every day while balancing cheerleading and other extracurriculars.
It wasn’t until recently that the strangeness came to light. What the Fright Club had failed to mention was that Sabrina had continuously hexed you in order to keep you out of harm’s way by leaving a small bag filled with her Aunt Hilda’s concoctions in your bedroom. It worked its magic when you slept, an invisible blanket covering your eyes that made their strange disappearances seem normal.
But it seems like that hex was fading. Sabrina neglected to change it out every other week due to being preoccupied by Caliban’s yearning, the Dark Lord’s agenda, and Lilith’s drama regarding Hell. Now you sat with wonder and couldn’t help but feel left out of a great adventure that your friends embarked on.
A month had passed since Sabrina and Caliban had made amends. You grew to understand the nature of it and the four filled you in on all you had missed with a guilt hanging over their heads. It was hard to hear and understand, but ultimately you couldn’t hate your best friends for wanting to keep you safe.
You knew not to question Sabrina’s whereabouts if you weren’t able to find her because she was most likely taking care of business down below. You still had yet to meet Caliban and the only information you gathered from him was what the gang caught you up on and Sabrina’s grievances whenever she felt annoyed by him.
“You know, this is all a weird concept,” you said. “I mean, I guess I always had my faith and doubt kept me guessing about what’s really out there, and it’s really out there,” you said, stealing a fry from Theo’s plate. The five of you sat in Dr. Cerberus’s diner and decided you weren’t going to do anything that wasn’t normal for teenagers.
“It still creeps me out,” Harvey admitted. “Hell was worse than I could’ve imagined.”
“Caliban’s got things under control and Lilith’s doing just fine being an advisor,” Sabrina said. “I don’t think she’s mad about the ruling situation anymore. Lucifer’s still doing his bidding but I think they’ve reconnected.”
“That’s...good?”
Sabrina chuckled. “Trust me, it’ll take some getting used to.”
“That is an absolute understatement.”
The door to the diner chimed while you fished inside of your purse for a quarter.
“I’m gonna go pick out a song, any requests?”
“You’re the music genius,” said Roz. You smiled and walked towards the front of the diner.
As you approached the machine and put the quarter inside of the slot, a tall man with sand colored hair loomed over you and watched.
“Can I help you?” you asked.
“Not really. Just observing.” You quirked an eyebrow, not recognizing his face despite knowing everyone in the small town.
“You’re not from here, are you?” you asked.
He chuckled. “Is it that obvious?”
“Greendale’s a pretty small town. It’s easy to spot someone who’s not a local,” you replied.
“Well in that case, I’m not from around these parts. Far from, actually.” He looked at your hand and then the juke box. “What song are you choosing?”
You pried your gaze away from him to look back at the machine and put the coin in the slot, choosing “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” before looking back at him.
“Satisfied?”
The handsome stranger looked at you and didn’t try to hide the face that he was checking you out by letting his eyes look at your body up and down. Not that you minded.
“Very,” he said with a sail try voice before walking around the corner. “The name’s Caliban.”
“Y/N,” you replied. You raised your eyebrow before walking back to the other four and sat down in your previous seat only for the handsome stranger to approach the table.
“Caliban,” Sabrina greeted. “What a lovely surprise.”
“Nice choice,” Roz commented, hearing the song play throughout the diner.
“That’s Caliban, as in the Caliban?” you asked.
“It’s good to know you lot have been talking about me,” he said, crossing his hands over his chest. “I decided to take a break from, you know, and come see what you love so much about Greendale.”
“She knows about Hell,” said Sabrina.
“Funny how I’ve never seen her there, or anywhere with you four, as a matter of fact,” Caliban replied.
“It’s a long story,” you said, sipping on your chocolate milkshake. “Not an important one, though.”
“Contrary,” he began. “You’re the first purely true mortal I’ve met in Hell or otherwise with no ancestral ties to witches or greater magic. That’s pretty important to me.” You blushed, not knowing what to say or do next.
“Is there a reason you’re here?” Harvey asked with a slight attitude. Caliban shifted his focus from you to him, which made your body relax a little bit.
“I didn’t come here for business or to whisk Sabrina away, if that’s what you’re wondering. I’m just here to see what makes Greendale so special, though I think I’m starting to see why.” Caliban spared no expense and was not shy about looking in your direction as he spoke his last statement.
“Don’t even think about it,” Sabrina said sternly. “You are not going to get any ideas, are you?”
Caliban chuckled and put his hands up in defense. “Whatever you say, Sabrina.” He began to walk away but not before turning around and winking at you. “See you around.”
Caliban walked out the door and you didn’t bother asking where he was going next.
“Dear Satan, he’s so annoying,” Sabrina said, exasperated. “It’s like he’s made it his personal mission to make my life, well, a living Hell for lack of a better term.”
“At least he’s not hellbent on defeating you anymore,” Theo reasoned. “I think he’s trying to get to know you a little bit better.”
“And he’s doing it by flirting with my best friend?” Sabrina asked. She put her head on your shoulder and and ate a fry from her plate. “You know I love you, right?”
“Mhm.”
“I’m not saying you need to stay away from Caliban, but you need to be careful around him. At least until we’ve worked together long enough for me to trust him completely.”
“Loud and clear, Brina,” you said. “I still can’t really wrap my head around this whole thing. I can’t watch horror films about Hell and witches the same ever again.”
The Fright Club laughed.
“It’ll take some getting used to,” Harvey said. “I mean, I was pretty apprehensive at first. Remember when Brina and I broke up and I spent every day at your place after school?” You nodded. “That’s when she told me she was a witch. It was kind of hard to wrap my head around until everything with the Pagans and angels happened.” You nodded, soaking in his words. “Anyway, there’s nothing wrong with feeling like you don’t understand. I don’t even understand most of it, if I’m being completely honest.”
“In think that’s enough food for me,” said Roz who pushed her plate to the middle. “Seeing Hell with my own eyes really suppressed my appetite.”
”Oh, shoot,” you said, looking at the clock mounted on the wall. “I have to head home and help my mom. I promised her I’d help clean the kitchen and I’ve got to be home in ten minutes. Can I pay you guys back?”
“Don’t worry about it. See you tomorrow?” said Theo.
“Count on it!”
***
You saw Caliban not long after your first encounter with him. The idea of him being the ruler of Hell (alongside Sabrina) was still a hard concept to understand and you weren’t quite sure if you were supposed to bow in his presence or not.
“Unnecessary,” he said when you asked. Caliban sat across from you at the local coffee shop, offering to walk you when you had caught his eye. You harbored a hot latte and he held a blueberry scone in his hand. “I think you mortals like that glory.”
You shrugged. “Can’t argue with that.”
“Hell doesn’t have formalities when it comes to celebration other than referring to each other by one’s title,” he explained. “It’s just easier that way.”
“You make it seem like Hell’s a relaxed place to be.”
He pinched a piece of his scone off at put it in his mouth, smirking at your statement.
“Oh, far from it. As righteous as demons are, we’re not that shallow.”
“It’s kind of hard to believe you’re made out of clay,” you said, taking a sip of your latte.
“Why do you say that?”
“I dunno,” you said. You reached over the table to poke his bicep. “You seem so real. So human.”
Normally, Caliban would’ve been offended by such a comparison. But he smiled.
“I suppose. I don’t question my creation. I accept it and try to live as adventurously as I can.”
“I hope to,” you said. “Getting out of Greendale, I mean. It’s my biggest dream.”
“You’d want to leave this town?” he asked.
“Well, yeah,” you replied. “I have nothing going for me here. I’m powerless and there’s no reason for me to stay where I’m not needed.”
To his surprise, Caliban felt his heart jolt at your comment. He was wordless for a moment.
“Where will you go?”
“I don’t know,” you said. “Maybe somewhere on the west coast. Maybe I’ll still be in New England. College is the perfect opportunity to explore the world and come back home for a few weeks at a time.”
“This is where Lucifer fell, you know,” said Caliban. “The sacred place is hidden deep in the woods where there’s a clearing of rocks and stone. That’s why this place is driven by witches of the Church of Night.”
“I still can’t believe the Devil is walking among us,” you said, shaking your head. “My mom used to force me to go to Sunday school, and I suppose I did have faith. It’s all meta now.”
“Are you still a believer?” he asked.
“I kind of have to be, considering you’re here.”
Caliban smiled.
“Do Heaven and Hell ever interact withe each other?”
“Not exactly,” he began. “We’re on civil relations but don’t want anything to do with each other. They stay up there so long as we stay down here. I’ve never encountered an angel before.”
“You haven’t?”
“They aren’t allowed to come down to Earth unless absolutely necessary,” he explained. “Not really sure why but it’s one of their more important rules.”
“I think I have a headache,” you teased. All of this knowledge about celestial beings truly made your senses adapt to your surroundings in Greendale and you were more than aware of the fact that God was real.
“I should go,” Caliban said, standing up. “I need to escort some souls back to Hell and send some up north.”
“You mean not all souls who are sold to the Devil go to Hell?”
“Sabrina and I negotiated that,” he said. “No more soul-selling. The ones that preexist will be discussed by her and I, and we decide if the punishment is worth the crime. I don’t think someone who sold their soul for a good cause needs to spend all eternity down in Hell. That’s why she comes down there all the time.”
“Huh,” you said at a loss for words.
Caliban smiled. “I’ll see you around, princess.”
***
The next time you see Caliban was with the rest of the Fright Club. He was wearing a linen button down with several buttons popped open, exposing his bare chest with black slacks and white sneakers. His hair was tousled and you swore this was the most human you had ever seen him.
“Ambrose is being a little paranoid and wants me to check out the edge of Greendale for threats,” Sabrina said. “I think he’s just worried about me co-ruling Hell while living on Earth. It’s nothing to worry about.”
“You say that like it’s just another day in Greendale,” you said.
Sabrina shrugged. “I mean, it kind of is.”
“Well, do you need us to do anything?” Roz asked.
“I want you to come with me, if that’s okay. Harvey, Theo, and Y/N, you don’t need to come. I’m sure this is Ambrose being Ambrose.”
“Are you sure, Brina?” Harvey asked.
She waved him off. “It’s fine, really. Roz and I will spend a few hours making sure things are normal and we’ll meet back at my place for dinner? Aunt Hilda’s kind of expecting us.”
“Wouldn’t miss it!” Theo said enthusiastically.
Sabrina gave the group one last smile before she took Roz’s hands and teleported out of the room, which left the four of you.
“I can give you a ride, Theo,” Harvey offered before looking at you. “And you too. I don’t mind driving to the other side of town.”
“I can take her home,” Caliban said. Harvey looked at you and Caliban spoke again, noticing his hesitation. “Part of our deal was that I made sure her friends remain unharmed. That includes Y/N.”
Harvey seemed to accepted this answer and grabbed his keys from his pocket before bidding you a goodbye. He and Theo drove off in his truck before you and Caliban left in the opposite direction.
“So, uh, do you want to come in?” you asked, awkwardly standing by the front door after he insisted on walking you in.
“I don’t mind,” he said. You fumbled with the keys before opening the door with a shaky hand and let him inside. It was the first time you were letting a boy into your home (other than Harvey and Theo, but your relationship with them was strictly platonic) and you felt a little more nervous than usual. After figuring out you had liked Caliban more than you originally expected, there was nothing you could do to stop your heart from beating just a little too fast when we he was around. Him being in your house did nothing to help the situation.
As for Caliban, his usual overwhelming desire for a carnal relationship was nowhere to be found when he stepped into your house. He looked at the white walls decorated with family photos and admired the ones with you as a child. Caliban watched as you put the house keys in a glass dish and followed you to your bedroom.
It was odd, Caliban thought, to feel nothing but tranquility. He was almost always hyperaware of his surroundings and wary of demons and souls roaming past him in Hell, but it was just the two of you. Two bodies under one roof.
“My parents won’t be home until later tonight. N-Not that we have to do anything!” you added. “I just mean they’d freak out because they haven’t met you before.”
Caliban chuckled. “I wasn’t planning on making a move, if that’s what you were wondering.”
You didn’t know whether to be relieved or disappointed.
“Your room suits you,” he said. Caliban admired the photos on your nightstand and polaroids pinned to a brown board on the wall filled with memories from your past with the Fright Club and other friends and family members. He saw a stack of books beside your bed and a fish tank sitting by the window, your closet doors closed, and decorative pieces that highlighted your personality.
“Thanks,” you said, laying down on your best. “You can sit, you know.”
Caliban took this opportunity to lay next to you. When you felt the bed dip, you averted your eyes to the ceiling.
“What are you thinking about?” Caliban asked after a long pause of silence.
“How fast life changes,” you replied. “I wouldn’t have it any other way, but with all that I know, how can I keep all of this celestial knowledge a secret from my parents? The world is always doubting Heaven and Hell but I know the truth. I don’t know if being purely mortal is helping me out in this situation either.”
“You’re an innocent,” Caliban said, turning his head to look at you. “So pure and clean. Your soul has been untouched by neither light or night and it’s probably the one thing that’s going to save you in the future.”
You turned your head to meet his gaze. “I’m still powerless.”
“Maybe in one way, but not completely. You have no witchcraft magic but you have intelligence and intuition. You know not to meddle with things that aren’t of your concern.”
You were silent.
“What else are you thinking about?”
“How much I like spending time with you,” you confessed. “But it’s hard, you know. You’ll be in Hell most of the time and you’re made of clay, for crying out loud.” Caliban chuckled. “I didn’t really think you’d be around as often as you are.”
Caliban was silent.
“What are you thinking about?”
“You,” he replied. “I’m always thinking about you. I used to think morality was a disease, but it’s not. It’s a rationale, just like any demonic presence.” Caliban moved closed to you.
“I think about what love is and how I don’t know what it really means.”
“I think love means different things to different people,” you said. “I think it’s mutual respect and loyalty. It’s knowing details about someone, big and small. It’s about being together but knowing you can be independent. Love is hard and it takes time. Love is not instant.”
“You’re pretty wise for an innocent,” he said.
You laughed. “Maybe I’m just a hopeless romantic.”
“Maybe not.”
Caliban lifted his body to hover above yours, your chests barely touching as his eyes gazed right over your lips. You dared not to move and Caliban hesitantly leaned down further so that your lips barely brushed against one another, the goosebumps on your skin taking affect. Because you weren’t pulling away, he took it as a silent signal and pressed his chaste lips against your soft ones.
There was no spark. No magic and no fireworks. There was only you and Caliban, and there was no other way you would’ve wanted your first kiss to feel like. Time slowed down as Caliban relaxed by your touch and your hands roamed his neck. The cold outdoor air was replaced by the warmth of Caliban’s body and when he pulled away, he let his thumb stroke your cheek as he cupped the side of your face.
“You are, dare I say, an angel.
“That’s a compliment, considering I know how much you despise them.”
He laughed. “Perhaps I’ll make an exception.”
Caliban leaned down once more to press a tender kiss to your forehead and you closed your eyes in bliss, happy to accept the good that came with the craziness of the last month. You looked at his structured jaw and grinned at his loving gaze, letting out a tired laugh.
“Perhaps.”

Speaking of which...may we hear some more about their interactions in Kintsugi?
Oh of course I do love the fact that Kintsugi puts them together more than most of my other stuff (with the exception of Pre-Timeskip Fix-It, but that’s a whole other thing).
Although their first meeting is relatively brief, since Ferdinand shows up with reinforcements at Myrddin and leaves shortly after the battle’s end, it’s actually a really important event because of where Ferdinand is mentally when it happens.  Edelgard sends him as the leader of the reinforcements for the Great Bridge, something that should be an honor -- but that Ferdinand can’t help but think is actually a subtle way of disposing of him since he continues to be her most vocal opponent in the Empire.  He doesn’t want to suspect this, but he can’t silence that deeply rooted doubt, either.  On top of that, he knows that if he falls, his friends back in the Empire, and in particular the ones that are suffering most from this drawn-out war (Bernadetta, Dorothea, and Petra chief among them) will be alone: he has people who depend on him, people he has to return to, and he’s terrified of dying here and leaving them without any kind of lifeline.
It makes him fight all the harder...but it doesn’t see him claim victory.  He makes the reasonable choice of trying to take out Marianne first, but Hilda blocks for her, and he finds himself unable to get through the Goneril’s defense; not only that, the cavalry arrives in the form of Lorenz, who tries to talk Ferdinand down and begs to know why he’s doing this, since this war goes against everything  his noble spirit should support -- and Ferdinand breaks, because he has no choice, they need him to come back!
Unbeknownst to him, Claude and Byleth had been coming up from behind to assist after dealing with the rest of the reinforcements, and Claude naturally asks who needs him to come back -- which, of course, startles Ferdinand into whirling around with his lance, to which Claude’s wyvern shoots back up out of reach while Byleth ducks under its swing before Lorenz finally takes Ferdinand down, incapacitating and disarming him.  Ferdinand fully expects that he is going to die there, but resolves that he’s going to do it with his head held high...and instead Claude just asks him, conversationally, how things are going in the Empire.  Ferdinand is taken aback, and scoffs that he would never betray Adrestia by divulging secrets to the enemy, to which Claude replies that he wouldn’t ask Ferdinand to: he just wants to know what’s going on, because now that they’re restoring Garreg Mach they’ve been seeing a lot of Seiros worshippers coming in from the Empire as refugees, which is...well, understandably disconcerting.
Ferdinand can’t actually see how this kind of information would betray the Empire.  So he talks a little bit about the edicts that Edelgard has put in place, the conditions that commoners in Adrestia have been living through for the past few years...and though he doesn’t say it out loud it’s clear from how he speaks and how he looks that none of this is what he expected -- none of this is what he wanted, but he doesn’t feel he has a choice but to stay and keep pushing for change, even if Edelgard doesn’t want to listen to him, because leaving and being branded a traitor means that no one with power is left who will vouch for the commoners.  Claude can hear it and see it while Ferdinand speaks...and in the end, he suggests letting Ferdinand go.
This shocks everyone, Ferdinand included.  He naturally expects that Claude will want him to become a spy for the Alliance, which his noble heart would never allow -- and Claude gives him such a look, because he’s kidding, right?  Ferdinand, you would make a terrible spy, to which everyone around him nods in agreement...and eventually Ferdie grudgingly nods, too, because he really would be.  But Claude tells him that Adrestia needs someone like Ferdinand, who’s going to fight for the people even if it means butting heads with the Empress: the Alliance is going to do all it can to keep the loss of life to a minimum, but things are bound to get worse before they get better, so the best place for Ferdinand is back in the Empire where he’ll be able to save the most lives.
Ferdinand, who had never been able to get a solid read on Claude during their time in the Academy, is startled by this...but grateful, too, since it means that he’ll be able to return to the people who most need him.  He doesn’t consider himself Claude’s agent, nor does Claude consider him one -- but Claude still asks Marianne to patch Ferdinand up before he leaves, because he’s a good guy and doesn’t want to send Ferdie off in such rough shape.  Ferdinand himself is the one who refuses the offer, remarking that it would be more suspicious if he returned from a rout with signs of healing...which Claude can’t really argue, even if he’s not a fan.  (He still slips Ferdie a vulnerary so he can at least take care of himself, though he does it without the nobleman realizing, so Ferdinand just gets to puzzle over the fact that he doesn’t remember packing that before he left.)
Fast forward many months and Ferdinand and Claude finally run into each other again at Enbarr -- specifically, after the battle’s over and Edelgard is secretly taken into Alliance custody (since, while they did see each other in the battle for the palace, they didn’t have a chance to really interact since Claude and Ashe had their hands full trying to keep Petra from murdering someone).  Ferdinand, quite reasonably, wants to know what’s going to happen to the Empire now that Edelgard has been deposed, and Claude replies that it’s a good question -- and one he doesn’t know how to answer.  He doesn’t intend to take over the Empire, because that would just be repeating the same mistakes Edelgard made; but he’s also not from the Empire, and doesn’t know its history all that well, so he can’t really speculate on what will happen...or what should happen, for that matter.  He opens it up for open discussion with Ferdinand -- probably over tea, since Ferdie is the sort to offer to make some to chat over -- and while Ferdinand has no ambition to take over as ruler of the Empire, he does realize that Adrestia will need some kind of leadership, and finds that Claude has a broad and curious array of suggestions that don’t erase what Edelgard was trying to do (though he does put far more emphasis on lifting up the common folk than Edelgard did with her meritocratic system -- he wholeheartedly praises Ferdinand’s idea of making education available to everyone regardless of status and encourages him to make that happen).
Despite the fact that Ferdinand is technically a prisoner, he ends up free to roam the camp in much the way that Linhardt and Caspar have -- and of course he takes full advantage, making himself right at home and chatting with everyone on the way back to Garreg Mach.  While he doesn’t play a major role in the big discussions between Byleth, Claude, Dimitri, Edelgard, and Rhea (because Claude needs answers), he does bring tea to all the meetings and throws Edelgard for a loop because he’s clearly doing it of his own volition (and quite happily, at that).  He’s happy that there’s no fighting to worry about and wants, more than anything, to do what he can for the survivors -- starting with his friends, since they’re so close at hand and still deeply affected.
Of course, Claude does manage to pry information out of Edelgard and Rhea pertaining to the deeper mysteries in Fodlan, including Those Who Slither.  And because they still pose a major threat, Claude wants to deal with them as soon as possible -- but the way he does it is by telling everyone about what he learned, and letting them decide whether they want to take part or not.  After getting dragged into a five year war by Edelgard’s personal ambitions, this is a pretty shocking move to Ferdinand -- and all the more since Claude makes it clear that he’s going regardless of who else decides to come, because this isn’t something they can leave alone, but he doesn’t want to force anyone to take part, especially after how much they’ve suffered.  Dimitri is one of the first who agrees to come with him, along with Hilda -- but Ferdinand volunteers to come, too, for the sake of everyone in the Empire in hopes of preventing further suffering.
(While Claude isn’t surprised by this move necessarily, he is grateful for it, because it really is just like Ferdinand to step up for the sake of helping everyone else.  He’s just that kind of guy.)
I just feel like there would be a lot of mutual respect between them, especially as they get the full measure of one another, and that they’d be able to learn from one another and get all new ideas from their discussions.  Claude can take some of these notions back to Almyra with him, just as Ferdinand can implement some of Claude’s ideas in Adrestia once they start rebuilding -- plus it’s just really nice to think about these two men who care so much about people and making the world a better place getting a chance to interact with each other and have a nice time together over tea and conversation.

[3 Hopes Spoilers - I have not played the demo but am absorbing via osmosis, so my thoughts won’t be perfect but I also don’t have anyone to share spoilery stuff with as of right now, so enjoy my thought vomit.]
• Claude’s route, much to my lack of surprise, seems to be quite sidelined by players. And the devs in some part: the data mine shows that only the Deer have pretty much everyone but Claude and Hilda recruitable. I’m kind of iffy on recruitment just because it can screw with character morals and values, so I must admit I am pouting that my favourite house is apparently just lacking in loyalty, lol
• A lot of the Lions lore stuff is interesting. I’m not fully filled in on the route so I’m not as certain of a lot of things, at least in terms of meaning, but I like seeing further background on some relationships. Felix and Rodrigue get further depth, as do Dimitri and his uncle Rufus. Even Cornelia gets some space, although she’s uh… definitely something else. But it’s nice to know, because there’s not much going on there in the original game to my knowledge.
• Also, love that we’re seeing family members we are implied to know about, but have not otherwise seen. I love it when games do that, show me everything please!!
• The novelty of Monica wore off really quickly. At first I was excited that she was a girl who was unapologetically in love with another girl, but it kind of fell apart when I realized a few things. For one thing, the girl she’s all over is EdeIgard, who already has Hubert to be her cheerleader (seriously, couldn’t we have made her a Dorothea super fan or something instead?). Secondly, she doesn’t get much characterization outside of that. Thirdly, people hated Leonie for being “too obsessed with Jeralt” and “having no character outside of loving Jeralt”, but it’s apparently actually super cute and funny when it’s Monica and EdeIgard. Fourthly, it’s yet another way for the narrative to jerk off about how great EdeIgard is — because it continues to do this, in spite of her so far looking worse than she did in the original game.
• Speaking of the narrative being unable to stop slobbering over EdeIgard, they’re really happily adding lines from characters like Seteth and Dimitri about how she’s “actually admirable” and “maybe doesn’t hate religion”. Notice how none of the other characters ever have to stop and recognize how good their opponents are? She scarcely ever stops to acknowledge the humanity or the capability of her enemies, unless it’s to say “hmm they’ll be kinda hard to beat, but I’m better”. She gets complimentary comments because she’s the dev’s pet that actually managed to get popular. As a fan of Ryoma, the second most recent dev’s pet, I shudder to think about how they would massacre my boy if he had gotten as popular as his brother. Hero or villain, you should not be propping up your character as omg so totally amazing this much.
• I’m glad we’re going to put Count Varley in a position where he gets his ass beat though. Screw that guy.
• I also think it’s interesting how for all of the commentary that EdeIgard was under the thumb of TWSITD and that the Church was out to get her if she tried to implement reforms… she easily gets what she wanted and still chooses to go to war anyway. So those are some discourse points that are going to die, and I appreciate that.
• To my knowledge, Rhea is involved, but atm she’s trying not to side with anybody, at least in AG. That makes sense to me as someone who tries to help keep the peace throughout the continent, because of course she might be most partial to Faerghus, but she wants to keep the peace between everyone and doesn’t want to look as if she is picking sides. Considering she also knows she is very murderable, this decision is probably for the best. I’ll miss her though if she remains uninvolved.
• It seems like it might gear up for a golden route, which… seems an undesirable idea to me, but also this is only a demo, so maybe they will surprise me.
• The graphics have really improved from what I’ve seen. The models look so much smoother, and from what I’ve heard, even the animations are a bit more varied. I also haven’t heard any of the same complaints that I heard about the original FE Warriors not having much variance, so I’m glad to hear that the game is actually pretty fun to play.
Anyway, I think that’s all I have to offer for now? Sorry for the sharper parts, I’m much further in my CF playthrough than I have posted, and I am… getting a little sick of it. Not my favourite route at all, for reasons having more to do with story construction rather than the old “is she good or bad” nut. Hence why I kind of harped on the cheerleading again — but that commentary on CF is another post for another day!
Otherwise, there are lots of things about 3 Hopes that are better than I thought they would be, so I’m interested in seeing what the full game is like when it comes out. If I like where it goes, I might buy it. Apart from that, osmosis is fine for me — while everyone else is enjoying it, I get to replace my 3DS SD card and start up Echoes, yaaaaay!

Things in Fire Emblem: Three Houses that after 200+ hours still never fail to get to me (word vomit incoming):
When you’re sprinting around the monastery at the speed of light, the number of NPCs that exclaim “what the-?!” as you nyoom past them
“Please do not eat the weeds”
Sylvain’s pick-up formula that becomes incredibly apparent when you’re catching up on his support scenes with the girls - “Hey [name], you look really cute when you’re [activity/mood].”
Felix’s disdain for his father. Idk if I’m projecting but something about him unabashedly tearing his father a new one every time they see each other is incredibly therapeutic for me. Honestly, just listening to Felix verbally eviscerate people in general is incredibly satisfying. Go OFF on them, Fe!
The dramatic irony and humor that can be had/found on subsequent playthroughs when you know Seteth and Flayn’s full backstories. So many little things that I didn’t think twice about my first run are suddenly hilarious. (”Which [Saint] is your favorite, Professor?” I know your game, fish girl)
Upside down Claude memes
Hilda absolutely DESTROYING the entire enemy force and then complaining that she’s a delicate flower and the battlefield is no place for her like HONEY YOU’RE A TANK, EMBRACE IT
Placing Dedue in a choke point and activating his trait skill, then watching and laughing as people try and fail to barrel through this impassable mountain of a man, usually killing themselves in the process.
“Stay away!” Bernadetta screams in terror before absolutely erasing a man/woman/otherwise from existence.
“Burn until we meet again.”
“It’s all becoming clearer.”
Literally any and all of Sylvain’s kill/level quotes. He’s carried my dumb ass through so many battles I could probably recite them all in my sleep
How I never fail to - out loud - say “Thot” every time Sylvain’s “Be gone” kill line plays
The much more obscure reference of me - out loud - asking “For combat?” every time Ashe announces “I must steel myself!”
Feral Dimitri
“You lost to ME?” / “*sigh* and I didn’t even enjoy it.” / “You overestimated yourself.” - These are just some of the ones that come immediately to mind, but imagine, if you will, being absolutely destroyed by a pink haired loli or a sleepy wizard or an otherwise very delicate looking high school aged child and then hearing - as you pull in your last dying breath - them say that to you, as they stand over your mangled body. Seriously, these children are fucking savages.
How Sylvain, despite bitching and moaning about crest babies his entire support chain, will inevitably have boatloads of children if you get him a paired ending with a female character. I know his hypothetical family is a product of love not careful breeding, but it’s just hilarious to me. This man went from being pathologically terrified of / disgusted by the idea of continuing his family tree to adding entire branches to it. What an absolute Lad.
Sylvain and Felix’s paired endings. I love my boys so much.
Dedue and Mercedes’ paired ending / Dedue and Byleth’s paired ending. They’re the only Dedue endings I’ve seen so I can’t speak for any of his other endings, but they’re so damn wholesome they make me wanna die.
How much I relate to Bernadetta
How Edelgard goes from “stone cold bitch” to “useless lesbian” depending on whether you go Black Eagles or not
Hubert’s sense of humor. The number of times this man has startled me into a fit of laughter with his dry wit is insane.
Manuela and Hanneman’s bickering
Just how fucking broken Mercedes is as a healer. She heals herself 100% of the health she heals other people AND she can use Physic (meaning she can heal from a distance, which end-game essentially allows her to heal from across the map) WHO ALLOWED THIS ABSOLUTE LASS TO EXIST AND CAN I MARRY THEM????
Dancer Felix / Hubert. What can I say? I like my Dancers feral or otherwise vapid as fuck.
Trickster Dorothea, AKA the embodiment of my gay thirst. Get Dancer Thea outta here, Trickster Thea is where its at.
Hapi. Just Hapi.
LET ME MARRY HAPI AS A FEMC IM BEGGING YOU PLEASE
Mercedes being a gigantic troll and nobody being able to tell if it's intentional or she's just oblivious
Petra and Cyril’s supports and their paired ending. The way they promise “forever and ever” and Cyril doesn’t even stop to think about where Rhea will be during that “forever” is just *chef’s kiss* (literally any support where Cyril doesn’t mention Rhea is *chef’s kiss*)
“IS THIS SOME KIND OF SICK JOKE?!”
Just how fucking offended Ferdinand gets when you try to give a lost item to him but it isn’t his. Like chill out man it wasn’t a concentrated attack on your noble honor, I was literally just asking to be nice and cover my bases.
Lorenz and Leoni’s meal dialogue - “Ugh, you sound like my mother...”
“I lost my brother to bandits... is something I’m sure somebody’s said at some point.” On my first playthrough that was such a YIKES joke from Sylvain, but now when I play I just feel bad because that was him trying to open up and be serious and then he immediately chickened out and backpedaled and came off as a total ass because of it. (I know Miklan didn’t die to bandits, but he ran off to be a bandit and to Sylvain I feel like that might as well be the same thing. Also can we talk about how Sylvain still obviously cares about his brother even though he literally TRIED TO KILL HIM MULTIPLE TIMES THROUGHOUT THEIR CHILDHOOD AND WAS RAMPANTLY ABUSIVE TO HIM, PLEASE SOMEBODY HUG MY BOY!!!!)
Dimitri being the literal hulk and struggling not to break everything he touches
Dorothea and Marianne having themselves listed under their dislikes like BABIES PLEASE LOVE YOURSELVES
The percentage of students who have “ghosts” somewhere on their likes or dislikes. Why are they so relevant?
How you can infer Edelgard’s entire backstory from her dislikes
“GREETINGS, PROFESSOR!”
Yuri and Hubert literally threatening to kill Byleth and me looking around like John Travolta every time like “DID ANYBODY HEAR THAT?!?!?!?!”
Me holding Dedue, Felix, and post TS Dimitri back by the scruffs of their necks as they desperately try to solo every map I deploy them on. Like BOYS, please, contain your murder. I know they attacked you first, but the second line needs EXP too.
Forming a protective circle around Dedue during the attack on Enbarr in Verdant Wind, like if ANYTHING happens to my boy I WILL divine pulse don’t fucking test me (PS Dedue, if you could stop charging ahead and pay attention to my carefully constructed plan of attack, that’d be great)
Edelgard’s little ax twirl on her victory screen
“I AM FERDINAND VON AEGIR!”

SFW and nsfw request for Hilda, Marianne, and Dorothea pls!
Three lovely ladies coming right up ~ (I'm keeping things a tiny bit more brief than some other posts for each character since we have three this time around so this doesn't get too crazy long lol- I'm trying to pace myself a little better these days)
SFW (nsfw below the cut)
Hilda:
- Hilda is so fun as a partner, since she always knows how to have a good time without stressing the little things (or the medium things... or the big things...). She fully encourages you to join her in her lifelong effort to live as easily and comfortably as possible, and she hates to see you anxious or stressed. When you're in a bad mood, few people are as relaxing to be around, as she probably has a cute little craft she could use your help on while reminding you that "we're together, right? So between the two of us, we can get as much done with half the effort- so don't worry about the boring stuff!"
- She's the type to have really cute, thoughtful ideas for dates and gifts, but then to play it off completely when you thank or compliment her. She'll downplay gifts with a glib, "Oh, well, I was just in the mood to throw something together- it is nice though, isn't it?" doing her best to hide the please flush across her cheeks. She's confident, of course, but she doesn't immediately want to let on how much effort actually goes into her shows of affection. Overall, she's a little concerned by how her feelings for you make her want to put in effort, so if anyone comments on it, she'll do her best to disregard the conversation and act like her 'normal' self.
Marianne:
- As you might imagine, she needs a lot of assurance that you're sure you want to be with her- it simply seems too good to be true, when she harbors so many deeply seeded doubts about herself. With a good amount of encouragement though, she's a very loyal and affectionate partner. She's great at remembering birthdays, anniversaries and the like, always putting her whole heart into finding just the right token to show you the strength of her feelings. She'll also do her best to say it aloud, but she tends to murmur and stutter her way through her attempts- at least until a good while into the relationship.
- in a sort of cat-like way, her main way of showing her affection is to simply be near you (though of course, she asks over and over whether it bothers you to have her around). She loves to spend time quietly together, resting her head on your shoulder or your lap. The cutest thing is that, when you're relaxing together like this, if you brush her bangs aside and kiss her forehead, or simply smile warmly at her and tell her something simple and sweet, like how lovely her eyes are- and she just melts. Her face burns bright crimson, and she'll try to hide behind her hands, but it's obvious she's just overwhelmingly flattered.
Dorothea:
- Being with Dorothea is sometimes like dating a celebrity- you're asked for details about her and your relationship with her all the time, and you're considered more of a catch simply for being with her. She is, of course, aware of all of this, and simply rolls her eyes at the attention. For as glamorous as she seems, and as 'wild' as others assume your relationship must be, Dorothea actually has a rather classic idea of how relationships go. She enjoys all of the sweet little gestures and day-to-day expressions of affection- even just casually holding hands as you walk through town, or taking a bite of a pastry you hold out for her over tea.
- It's going to take a lot to make Dorothea feel secure enough to truly settle down with one person. It's always been her ultimate goal, of course, and her feelings for you are true and strong- but she's so accustomed to being self sufficient and independent. Best practice is to assure her that she's still more than welcome to exercise that independence as much as it suits her, and that you'll always be there when she does need your support. That level of understanding is a huge comfort to her. Perhaps paradoxically, knowing that she's free to do as she likes actually makes her far more willing to compromise here and there, and be giving and generous to her partner.
NSFW 18+ v
Mostly Gender Neutral, some AMAB
Hilda:
- It might not be a surprise that Hilda loves being coddled and spoiled in bed- but her absolute favorite is receiving oral. Her clit is very sensitive, and going down on her will have her moaning blissfully and arching up from the bed. If you're really devoted, it won't take long to learn how to get her to squirt like this. Pressing the flat of your tongue firmly to her clit and pulsing against her, moaning as you hold onto her thighs make her cum hard, her vision going white as she whimpers out your name.
- In general, Hilda likes to be with a soft dom. She likes a lover who takes the lead and directs her, but isn't too demanding or harsh, instead cooing to her about what a good girl she is for you, how wonderful her body feels, how cute she is when she moans your name. Her favorite position is to have you fucking her from behind with her lower body propped up on a pillow- and with time, she even discovers that she loves having you grab a hand full of her hair and tug on it while you thrust into her. It's a gorgeous view as well, since she has a nicely defined but plump ass that bounces beautifully against you as you buck into her.
- Hilda is quite fond of cockwarming and similar kinks, and the occasional slow, lazy love-making session with you spooning her in bed as your hips sway against her. She likes this relaxing, low-pressure way of feeling intimate with you, and given her clit is so sensitive, it's not like she requires a huge amount of stimulation to cum. She'll gladly spend a night in bed casually chatting as you slide into her and just savor the warmth of her wet cunt swallowing you.
Marianne:
- You're likely to be her first sexual partner, and it's going to take a long while for her to even feel comfortable exposing herself to you. With enough reassurance and a lot of pre-sex fooling around (one night you may just touch each other a bit while making out, then she may be comfortable with your fingers the next time, and so on), she eventually gains the confidence to realize that you do truly want her, and she wants you dearly as well. Eventually, the trust itself becomes oddly arousing to her, and while it will take a long time to discover this, she actually adores being blindfolded while you take your time touching and savoring her body. Being forced to focus so intently on physical sensation clears her mind of her anxieties.
- Marianne is surprisingly vocal in bed, though she doesn't want to be. It's honestly adorable, the way her hands cling to the sheets or to your body, her face a bright pink as she bites on her lip to stifle an adoring moan. Even light touches down the small of her back or up the curve of her inner thigh cause her to catch her breath, looking up at you adoringly with those big, shining eyes. Trying to hold back her moans is something she's not likely to 'grow out of' with experience, but she's so precious when her eyes roll back and she's whining and whimpering just to keep from crying out your name, it's hard to be upset about it.
Dorothea:
- Dorothea knows what she's doing, and she knows it- and she knows that she's tempting. While not an outright Dom by default (though she can definitely be encouraged into that role and she takes to it marvelously), she is confident and direct in bed. She'll smirk as she straddles your hips and runs her hands down your body, commenting on how she just can't wait to see you completely cut loose. In particular, she loves when you try to play cool and act as though she's not driving you mad with desire, only to fall apart as she pleasures you, gasping her name and leaning into her touch, or even breaking your sense of restraint and pinning her to the mattress to ravage her.
- She's not terribly loud in bed, much more likely to whisper sweet, sultry flattery into your ear. When she does let out an earnest moan, it's luxurious and lustful, almost song-like in its own right. Dorothea is also not shy about telling you what she likes or about trading notes on different positions or kinks you may want to try. She knows that everyone has unique desires, and she sees sex as both a bonding experience for the two of you, and as something that should be fun and easily enjoyed by you both.
- Dorothea loves giving tit-jobs and she is incredible at them. Even if you're just using a strap, she loves showing off her body to you, watching the expression of awe, admiration and a touch of disbelief as she puts on a lewd show of bouncing her breasts around your length. Her technique is impressive, and she's good enough at reading people that she'll easily figure out what you like best. Do you want to see the tip of your length pushing up from her cleavage, or would you prefer the warmth of her lips around your tip? How tight do you like her to squeeze her tits around you, and what pace gets you panting and bucking against her? She'll have you figured out in no time.

Felix and Sylvain finally have a bit of a talk, and Hilda takes a trip down memory lane before her day out with Dorothea.
Hilda had always had a bit of a crush on Balthus. He was always around, he was always nice to her, and he never treated her weird like other guys would (and he was hot). Well, besides the protectiveness. But she expected that, because he was not only a bit older than her, but also Holst’s best friend.
So, she always kept her crush to herself, not even disclosing it during the hushed giggles and gossip of sleepovers when she was younger or nights out at the bar with the girls when she was older. There wasn’t really a point, anyway, was there? I mean, he sees me like a younger sister. Always has. And probably always will.
It had always ebbed and flowed a little. She never wanted for attention from any gender growing up, and she usually was able to ignore that persistent Balthus-shaped candle-flame in her (absolutely adorable) head. By the time she was a bit older, he wasn’t really around as much anymore, anyway - first at the officer’s academy, then on the constantly turning pages of the Adventures of Runaway Balthus. No wonder there’s a bounty on my head, he would remark, joking at his penchant for fighting and drinking and gambling.
But no matter what he went through, he never asked Holst for anything more than a couch to sleep on when he was passing through. He had a little pouch with him, full of trinkets, pretty rocks or a nice ribbon or other things of the like that he would dump out gently on the floor when he, Holst, and Hilda would spend the afternoon and evening together.
“These made me think of you, Hillie-girl!” He would puff out his chest and wink at her. “Can’t ever say I forgot about you, eh?”
- - -
Usually, after the sunlight from his open blinds roused Felix, he would force himself to hop out of bed and splash cold water on his face, brew some coffee, and then head straight to train, occasionally stopping by Sylvain’s door on his way there to drag him along.
But, this morning, Felix woke and did not get out of bed. The feelings of idiocy and shame were immediate in flooding his brain and his body, and he could feel his heart drop into the pit of his stomach. His thoughts raced through his mind, contradictions and repetitions and battles and screams in his head. He felt hungover, even though he hadn’t drank.
Idiot.
Why did I do that? Why did I kiss him?
And why did he kiss me back?
Am I willing to be just another conquest to him? But would that be so bad? He could touch me all he wants. He could use me all he wants. I would be okay with that.
I would hate that.
It’s always been him. It’s always been Sylvain. And it’s got to be him.
I don’t care if he uses me. But he wouldn’t use me. Would he?
He cares about me too much. Right?
Why did I have to go and be such a sap over this absolute fucking idiot and philanderer of a man?
Why did he kiss me back?
Would he do it again?
Does he even want me, or was it just instinct?
How could I ever think that was a good idea?
I would do it again. I’d do it until I died. Again and again. He tasted so good.
I hate myself.
I hate Sylvain.
I hate his curly hair and his liquid eyes and the way his hips felt pressed into mine and the way he talks and the way he jokes and the way he ruffles my hair and the way he calls me Fe.
Goddess fucking damn it.
I am in love with Sylvain.
He did not make his coffee, he did not go to spar, and he definitely did not knock on Sylvain’s door.
Instead, he threw his sword at the wall. It stuck, point first. Nice.
Then he screamed into his pillow.
Then he wrote all of his feelings on a piece of parchment. He burnt it.
Then he wrote “Felix Hugo Gautier” on a piece of parchment. He burnt that one twice for good measure.
He screamed into his pillow again. If he could let himself cry, he probably would have, but he didn’t really think he had the energy to face his emotions in that vulnerable of a way. He hadn’t cried since Glenn. He wouldn’t cry over fucking Sylvain of all people.

Okay I just had this scenario in my head and had to tell you. Child!Byleth finishing up a conversation with Flayn and says “Alright, love you” to which he realizes what he said when he notices everyone staring in his direction. Before anything could happen he snaps his fingers and divine pulse activates with Sothis the only one to remember.
Child!Byleth Post Masterlist here!
Tumblr media
This is probably one of the best prompts I’ve gotten for the AU.
Thanks for the ask, anon! I hope you enjoy!
—-
Child!Byleth accidentally says ‘I love you’ to Flayn
—-
It was a particularly busy lunch hour, as all Three Houses were conversing amongst each other after a joint training day.
At first Byleth didn’t exactly know who to sit with, since everyone had a look in their eyes that said ‘Sit with me, teacher!”
His worries were shaken off as soon as he heard a voice he began to find great comfort in.
(Flayn) “Oh, Byleth! Would you like to sit with me?”
The tiny professor gave a small smile and nodded. They grabbed their food and sat down, conversing about how the training was since she didn’t get to participate.
Oddly enough, the faculty was here as well, but he didn’t pay them much mind.
Catherine was gorging herself with Shamir and the others looking embarrassed that they were even sitting near her.
Thankfully, Flayn saved him from that embarrassment as well.
For some reason as they were talking, he noticed the dining hall was becoming more and more quiet. It was almost as if all the students were trying to listen in on their conversation.
Then again, he doesn’t recall a lot of times where he’s sat only with Flayn, so that was bound to raise a few eyebrows.
He decided to pay it no mind, what was the worst to come out of this? That he enjoyed being with Flayn? Even a brain-dead demonic beast could tell that much.
Though, Byleth had to unfortunately cut the conversation short. He had remembered that the amount of notes and examinations he’d have to do for his class was enormous considering he had to look over everyone’s strengths and weaknesses after the fight.
(Flayn) “Oh, alright Byleth! Please let me know if you need any help!”
(Byleth) “Thanks Flayn. Love you.”
(Flayn) “…!”
…Why is everything so quiet?
(Sothis) snrrrk! “C-Child…Do you not know what you just said?”
(Byleth) “…Huh?!”
He quickly turned back to Flayn, and noticed her face was bright red.
(Byleth) …Sothis. What did I just say?
(Sothis) “Oh, don’t worry! I don’t need to say anything!”
(Dorothea) “Oh my goodness…!”
(Sylvain) “YOU LOVE FLAYN, PROFESSOR?!”
Everyone’s heads immediately turned towards him, Byleth’s face just as red as Flayn’s.
Seteth spat out his drink all over Hanneman, Shamir and Catherine burst out laughing alongside Manuela.
Jeralt started wheezing while Leonie was extremely confused until she finally processed it, and started wheezing alongside him.
Annette and Mercedes began ‘Awww!’ing, and started to giggle.
Dimitri began laughing while looking at his tiny professor.
(Dimitri) “Slip of the tongue, professor?”
Edelgard began laughing so hard she started snorting, which in turn made Hubert smile, seeing the suffering Byleth was about to go through.
Dorothea and Sylvain immediately rushed to the table, giving him dating tips.
(Dorothea) “Little strong outta the gate there, professor, but don’t worry! Love is natural that way!”
(Sylvain) “You EVER need a way on how to get Flayn here to fall for you more, just talk to big brother Sylvain!”
Meanwhile with Claude, they heard a loud slam on the table.
Tumblr media
“PFFFT, HAHAHAHA! OH MAN, THEIR FACES! HAAHAHA-”
Hilda started cracking up next to him, which spread to Marianne, making the entire Golden Deer class crack up.
(Hilda) “If you look closely, you can see the regret in his eyes!”
(Marianne) “Hahahaha! O-Oh, my stomach!”
(Petra) “I believe this is what you call a ‘big mistake’.”
(Ferdinand) “Y-You have NO idea, Petra…”
The Blue Lions and Black Eagles joined in the laughter, as well as the staff and knights around, but Seteth was less than amused.
(Seteth) “CARE TO REPEAT THAT, PROFESSOR?!”
(Byleth) “SOTHIS…DIVINE PULSE!”
(Sothis) “I’m sorry, what was that? I can’t hear you over the laughter.”
Everyone around Byleth tilted their head in confusion, not knowing what he was talking about.
(Byleth) “SOTHIS, DIVINE PULSE, PLEASE!”
(Sothis) “Well, if you insist…”
(Flayn) “B-BYLETH! I-”
N O
And in that moment, Byleth managed to avoid certain death from Seteth, and from pure embarrassment. Everything slowly began to move backwards…
(Flayn) “Oh, Byleth! Would you like to…Are you feeling alright? You look a bit red.”
(Byleth) “…I-It’s nothing, Flayn. Thanks though…And y-yes, I’d like to eat with you.”
Sothis was laughing so hard, it almost overpowered the students talking.
As Flayn ate lunch with Byleth, she noticed something weird. Everytime he made eye contact, he’d blush and quickly look away.
It was like he was actively avoiding it…
(Sothis) “On the bright side, child! At least you’ll know how she’ll react-”
(Byleth) QUIET, GREMLIN!

Hope kiddo feels better soon! And that suddenly gave me idea for Power Moms: Millie got sick. Nothing serious but she needed a lot of rest for a few days. The squad insisted to take turns taking care of Millie during the day, I guess the Uncles and their entourage probably will make a sudden visit and get their turns to take care of her. What will everyone do to entertain the girl, I wonder? :D
Thank you! I'm too tired to write an actual story, so let's do some headcanons!
Dimitri, Sylvain, and Felix aren't sure what to do. What do they know about what little girls like? Then Felix points out Sylvain also doesn't know what big girls like, either, and that starts them bickering - and Millie thinks it's hilarious. So they end up continuing, like some bizarre comedy duo, so she'll keep laughing like that. She ends up on Dimitri's lap. He isn't at all sure of this at first, but finally relaxes. She wraps his cape around herself to stay warm and curls up like a cat, perfectly comfortable, and giggles at Sylvain and Felix.
Ingrid and Ashe take turns reading her stories about chivalry.
Seteth and Bernie bring her their newest book of fables. Her mothers have been encouraging her to try reading more on her own, and she does love what she calls "Uncle Seteth's animal stories," but she mostly just looks at the pictures until she can talk someone into reading it to her.
Dorothea and Claude put on a puppet show. Hilda, who refused to participate, holds up the "curtain" - a bedsheet - and takes it down. That is the full extent of her effort, but Dorothea and Claude more than make up for it with their clowning around. There's more giggling.
Mercedes and Annette bring some of Mercie's fresh-baked cookies and milk, and give Millie a "makeover." (Really just doing her hair and letting her play with makeup brushes.)
Ignatz brings paper and pencils and an apple, and shows her how to do shading in different lights. Her attempts are clumsy, but her mothers hang every one of them up anyway.
Marianne brings one of the puppies recently born in the stables at Garreg Mach for Millie to play with. (Edelgard is less than thrilled about this, but says nothing.)
