Mikey is the type to buy snacks for you, no matter what. It doesn't matter what time of day it is, he's got some food for you too. He's calling you at 3am in the morning and telling you that he got you some chips, can he come over. He thinks sharing food is the best way to share love and well, he's right ❤

Izana will know everything about you. Your favourite colour, your favourite places to go, what you like to watch. Honey, he got you. You're his assignment and he's passing with an A+. He's the best person when you're sad because he knows exactly what to do. He can cheer you up in five minutes, tops.

Draken is so protective of you 😭. He knows he's well-liked and he's got an entire brothel, might as well take advantage of it. He wants to take care of you, and he knows you need boundaries and space sometimes but he lives a bit of a dangerous life, he needs to make sure you're taken care of. If someone actually got a scratch on your head he's killing them. No questions asked.

Hakkai didn't come from the best family. After the death of his mother, everything kinda fell apart. That's why he wants to start new traditions with you. Getting take out every Friday, matching accessories, whatever it is. He considers you family and he can't wait until you two pass down these traditions to your children.

Baji names cats after things related to you! Your favourite things to eat, do, whatever! Anything that's remotely related to you, that's the new name of the cat! Has given cats pet names that he usually uses for you, sometimes it's a bit confusing, but it's more so endearing.

You can say all you want about Kisaki but no one can say that this man isn't your biggest fan. You're the only one in his eyes but you're also the best. You got no competition but you're also destroying your competition with the twitch of your finger. Ain't it nice, to be someone's one and only 😆

Ran's ideal date is a sleep date. You two watching a movie on the computer, cuddled together under the blankets. He lasts half the movie but it's worth it because he has his hands on your waist and chin on your shoulder. He says he's not a cuddler but his grip on you is like iron, he will not let you move.

Mitsuya will fit you into his schedule no matter what. He's got two younger siblings and a Hakkai to take care of but he always has time for his baby. Yeah, he has three late assignments, five new outfits to make and grocery shopping to take care of, but please tell him about your day. Will take a break from what he's doing for his beautiful baby.

Might not look like it, but Benkei has the best hugs. You guys see him latting Shinichiro's head, now imagine those big strong hands wrapping around you. He's so warm and comforting, his hugs are meant for a higher power. Even if he's strong, he's incredibly careful around you. Big strong men being delicate for you despite their strength 🤤

Rindou makes mixtapes for you. You're always on his mind and when you're on his mind, he just makes a playlist for you. You and him probably share a Spotify account at this point with the amount of playlists dedicated to you. And they all have the same sappy titles 'to the Love of my Life'.

You ever see someone looking at their partner in the picture instead of at the camera. Yeah, that's Shinichiro. He knows that he was lucky to get you, and he's in awe that you still choose to be by his side. Now, the only time he smiling is because he's looking at yours 😁

Cooking together, the best and tastiest love language around. Fits that best boy, Angry has it! Will make your faves, and he HAS to learn food from your culture. He likes going on picnic dates because he can show off his skills to you, and he loves hearing your enjoyment (and you're the real winner with how delicious everything is). You two cook together. Though if you're one of those who are a mess in the kitchen, Angry's just happy to see you enjoy things he made. Pls praise him though, he won't say it but be revels in your praise. Your words are everything to him ❤.

Takemichi is loyal to the end. Don't worry about this boy lacking, he's here for you. He could be in a room of models but the only one he's got his eyes on is you. You're #1 to him 🥰

If you hate someone Chifuyu hates them even more. You say something bad about someone once, he despises them forever and wants to sell their soul to Satan. He will not forgive and he will not forget. He loves you and he will never get other people who don't feel the same.

Wakasa would quit smoking for you. The minute you cough around him, he's throwing his cigar away and replacing them with lollipops. No matter how much he might miss them, your lungs are more important 😙

Those things that you're obsessed with that no one else really cares about? Kakucho will erase those worries, easy. He doesn't mind your ramblings, encourages them. Will keep it all in his mind and remember them so he can participate deeper with things. Your interests are his interests hun!

Kazutora loves spontaneous dates so much. And he makes sure that you two go on them often. Wants to make sure that your relationship never weakens so he loves being around you, and the best way to be around you is doing your favourite things! He will sneak you out if need be so you two can have a picnic in the moonlight.

You need some support, good thing Sanzu offers it unconditionally. Going from things like you needing help on wash day to you needing to cover up a body, your bae's got your back. He might not enjoy doing everything, he's just a tad bratty, but no matter how loud he's complaining throughout, he still gonna do it!

Smiley will defend your honour! He hears some bitch talking about you, he won't let that slide. Blood will be spilled. Someone got something fun to say about your heavenly skin, he gonna kill someone. He's like Draken if Draken was an unhinged gremlin. He will beat someone up and then look at you with a smile on his face like, are you okay precious?

All your dreams of drowning in a strong man's clothes (that's a fantasy we all have, right?) are fulfilled with Mucho. He's so much taller than you (and if not, he's got muscles for days) so whenever you steal some of his clothes, you swim in them. It's a beautiful, comforting, amazing feeling.

Atsushi is the kind to learn how to braid just for you! He knows that going to a barber is expensive so he's got your back. He's doing goddess braids for you, cornrows, whatever you desire. And if you're not a braid person, well good thing he can learn how to!

Shion's pet names are ridiculous! Will call you baby cakes all the time and then start calling you pumpkin the next day. Is he doing this because he's stupid yes but he also likes to see your little smile. All he wants is your goofy little smile 😘

Takeomi is a planner, always, and you're always going to be part of his plans. When he's talking about the future, you're going to be part of it. It's so sweet how casual he is about it, you two will just be laying down in his bed holding hands and he'll be mentioning how good you'd look with a ring on your finger.

Hanma is secretly a romantic. He's an adrenaline junkie in the end though, so he spins things to an insane degree. Sneaking up a ferris wheel and kissing you under the moonlight, telling you to skip school so you guys can watch the sunrise and sunset, skinny dipping at the beach! If it's a bit too much, he gotchu. He's fine with both of you just hanging out on your bed or chilling in the bath. He's not your typical love interest, but he's surprisingly understanding and sweet 😍

HOW THE JJK MEN PLAY SIMS

Starting with

Satoru Gojo

🎮Okay so I really feel like Gojo is in love with the mundane, mostly because his own life is so far removed from it. So, Gojo actually plays a pretty calm game.

🎮Or, he tries to at least.

🎮He has a thousand founders for generation challenges he will never complete, a million builds that he made the shell of and never went back too, and his world is riddled with homeless sims he made for rags to riches stories.

🎮Really, he always goes back to his favorite sim- is super sim that me made on accident. A random sim that he got so attached to he turned aging off so they wouldn't die, and that he tends to and frets over like a favored pet.

🎮He definitely has all the DLC and is a little bit ashamed of it. He even has DLC that he's never touched- like horse ranch. Why does he have horse ranch? He hates horses (Because how DARE An animal of that size be that skiddish and breakable) so why does he own HORSE RANCH?!

🎮So that he still owns all the DLC, that's why. It as just a much a mark or pride as it is shame for him.

🎮He probably has a few script mods here and there, like the cuddling mod or the real estate mod, but for the most part his modding starts and ends with CC. He LOVES CC, mostly cause the Sims team (in his humble opinion) makes shit clothes. All maxis match.

🎮He gets on telling himself he's only going to play for an hour tops at 6 pm and OOPS the sun is up. He swears maxis puts speed in this game.

Suguru Geto

🎮the opposite of Gojo- this man is a menace.

🎮Suguru's got a lot of built up rage he's repressing, and 100% takes it out on his digital dolls. If you're a sim and you displease him- straight to the fenced in pool.

🎮He has the extreme violence and life tragedies mods installed. You know why.

🎮Had his sim marry into the goth family just to murder them and take everything they had. You know- what Don Lothario failed to do.

🎮Oh, that's another thing: He has beef with these pixels.

🎮Like, yes- he knows it's unreasonable and a little childish...But if he ever ever catches Nancy Landgrab on the streets it is ON. SIGHT.

🎮He will just let his sims wreak whatever havoc they see fit. like "Oh, you want to cheat on your husband with the pizza delivery guy when your husband is literally standing right there? Who am I to stand in the way of feminism."

🎮He will also forget sims. Like, he'll set a sim up to do something, go play with a different sim in the house, and it will be like a real word fifteen minuets (keep in mind, a in game day is only 24 minuets) before he realizes the mom has been missing because she's been practicing violin with no end in sight and is about to piss herself. oops.

🎮He has a few of the DLC that interest him, like city living and snowy escape. He has all the occult packs but his favorite is Realm of Magic....duh. He only plays sorcerers and always goes down the chaos magic tree. You know why.

Nanami Kento

🎮Nanami is here to build.

🎮Nanami gets on the sims to build he dream homes and experiment with different layouts and such that he might like. And he's actually gotten really good at it.

🎮Like some of his builds are in the maxis showcase and he's quite popular on the gallery

🎮What determines if he buys any sort of DLC is if he likes the build buy items or not. and as such, most of his mods are also for build buy

🎮He does play a little bit of the actual game too though, but he tends to get board of it pretty quick. He's tried to make evil sims of dubious moral character and he just can not.

🎮Like, when Suguru tells him about his game play he just looks on in horror. What do you mean your sims has five secret families and an artist slave, do you not feel horrible? Have you no shame?

🎮I think Island Living is his favorite pack because he likes Sulani so much. He thinks it's a pretty place for a home. And mermaids are neat- he guesses.

🎮He also likes Werewolves cause Celene is his favorite townie. He started his first ever generation challenge with her and she's had a special place in his heart cause of it

Ryomen Sukuna

🎮Sukuna is here to fuck shit up- you can not tell me other wise.

🎮His sim has an artist sim painting locked in the basement that sells painting for the main sim to get money. His sim has romanced and ruined half the town and physically fought the rest.

🎮He genuinely plays to see how much chaos he can cause, and has mods to help him do it. extreme violence, life tragedy, fuck it- wicked whims he wants to see the world burn.

🎮He has all the DLC but that's because he pirated it- which is very cool and sexy of him.

🎮Have you ever seen a kid play with their barbies? The ones that are maybe a lil traumatized and have their dolls going through some of the most insane shit? Kidnapping, drug abuse, domestic violence, murder!

🎮Thats how Sukuna plays sims. You walk in and the house he's playin in is on fire and he's just contently watching as he sips his tea

🎮He doesn't play very often, but when he does he binges it. He gets on for hours at a time, then he doesn't touch it for months

🎮I will say, he does have a special place in his heart for Gregg. A monster that the town fears and hates who attacks on sight? That guy gets it.

BONUS: CHOSO KAMO!

🎮He is what Gojo wishes he was.

🎮Choso has so many successful generations challenges under his belt it's not even funny. He's never played a rags to riches game he didn't knock out of the park.

🎮The only challenge he won't do it the hundred baby challenge. Too personal.

🎮He honestly gets pretty attached to his sims, which is natural all things considered, and is genuinely a little bummed when they die. Oh well, onto the next.

🎮He's pretty bad at naming his sims, so he just lets random take the wheel. Or he lets one of his brothers name them. That's how he got his favorite sim: Giznap Lee Macintosh Bartholomew the Third.

🎮He also has all of the DLC but that's because, like Sukuna, he pirated it. Which is very cool and sexy of him.

🎮As far as mods go- he's never really felt the need to get any of them other than CC. Basemental Drugs maybe- but for the most part he's not super into script mods.

🎮His favorite townie is Bella Goth, but that's because he's been playing this game since Sims 2 and has been following her lore. Oh, you didn't know the sims had lore? It does and it's fucking insane. Bella goth caused Sims 4 to break off into an alternate timeline from the main games- no I'm not kidding

🎮He plays the game mostly in the background while he does other things- like reading or drawing. He is a brave man

Life felt...normal. As strange as that sounded. Bucky and Y/N had fallen into a routine. And it was a nice one, actually. Sure, there were still some parts that she enjoyed more than others, but most of it was pretty great. Just like Bucky. He had given so much comfort to her these past days, Y/N didn’t even want to know what it would be like without it anymore.

Every morning, Bucky would go to work with Vision. He would be wearing these delectable suits that, of course, magically appeared in his closet and fit him as though they were tailored to his body. But that wasn’t even the best part. After breakfast, Bucky got his briefcase, put on a handsome smile, and then he kissed her on the head before leaving for most of the day. Y/N wasn’t too keen on the eight-hour workday, but this tangible feeling of familiarity brought security to her wandering mind. Their relationship felt real because it looked real if someone were to look through their beautiful windows. They would see two people who loved each other. Two people who touched each other and smiled at each other and held each other. Two people who suffered through the same thing and found comfort in one another.

Of course, for everyone in Westview, they were just Bucky and Y/N. The young married couple that lived in the most beautiful house on Sherwood Drive. That moved here as fast as they got integrated into Westview’s little society. The hunky husband with the 9 to 5 job that left the house at the exact same time every morning and came home with the same smile on his face. Home to Y/N, the housewife with the gorgeous blue hydrangeas in her yard and the one with the most interesting contributions in the book club meetings.

Because Y/N had taken Bucky up on his suggestion to mingle with the other women on the street, Dottie’s offer to join was the perfect in on all the gossip circulating the little town. It was surprising how much these women knew about everyone. There seemed to not be one person in the whole city they hadn’t at least heard of and Y/N was sure, that some of these women had better intel-gathering skills than some people at S.H.I.E.L.D. None of them matched her just yet, but it was fun to see, how invested they could get over seeing someone buy 3% milk or talk to the journalist that had published a scandalous article on children caretaking. Their interests were superficial and it was almost funny to Y/N if she didn’t find herself taking part in the heated discussions every so often. It was nice to belong and to be accepted. There was nobody asking weird questions and anytime she was addressed, she could solve the situation by telling some half-truths about her loving little family that consisted of her, Bucky, and Alpine. There was no more fear of saying something wrong, no pressure to perform, or urgent need to gather intel. This was somehow easy. There was no time limit on when to get information. There was nobody's life on the line.

Y/N got home from whatever committee she was talked into and worked herself through cookbooks. She was waiting for Bucky to come home by her pool in that beautiful backyard of hers and scratching her white fur baby until she fell asleep on her lap. And when Bucky got home from work, the pair would eat dinner, talk about mundane things, and laugh - heartfelt and belly-aching. It was perfect.

When the day turned into night, Bucky would open a couple beers and they would sit on the sofa while an easy comedy show played faintly in the background. Alpine comfortably laying on top of Bucky’s thighs, he would almost always have his arm resting on the couch behind Y/N, telling her what he had found out about Vision or Westview or anything else he considered interesting enough for her to know. Y/N would do the same then, too. Though her information proved to be a little more fruitful than the occasional weird situations at the office Bucky kept telling her about.

It was a night like these, where the pair enjoyed some drinks on the comfortable sofa, huddled under blankets and Alpine. Bucky’s arm was touching her shoulders and his warmth did wonders to the previous goosebump prickling on her bare arms ever so slightly.

“Dottie said there is going to be a talent show, soon. And then she tried to convince me to participate.” Y/N shook her head with a smile.

Dottie was something. The both of them had figured the second they met her, but after spending some time with her, Y/N realized that her neighbor’s ambitions reached far beyond the social work she did for the city. Dottie was actually a wonderful person. Driven, yes, and very much a perfectionist, but organized and good-hearted after all. She had a special magic to her character that made Y/N feel secure in her presence. Maybe it was the way she expertly organized everything Westview’s inhabitants laid their eyes on, or maybe it was her stubborn wish to integrate Y/N into the community that made her feel like she was welcome and belonged.

“Are you?” Bucky smiled, too as he looked down on his shoulder where her head lay. The image of a trained agent on a stage must have amused him just as much. And to be fair, there weren’t many talents Y/N could show that wouldn’t suggest her true identity. Between knife throwing, hand-to-hand combat, and shooting, there were hardly any things normal in her repertoire of skills.

“What? You want me to throw knives at a person tied to a spinning wheel?”

He shook his head, “Vision’s already doing magic tricks with Wanda.”

“Of course they are.” A wholehearted laugh escaped Bucky at her rolling her eyes. And Y/N found a little pride in the sound she lured out of him. Bucky’s laugh was special to her. A treasure, because it was rare... or used to be. He laughed a lot more these past few days, and it warmed Y/N’s heart as she realized that she got to be part of it.

“I take it we’re just audience then?” He asked as her hand moved to Alpine, who was purring in Bucky’s lap satisfied.

“Dottie will not like that.” The blonde was already thrown off when Y/N had told her that she would have to think about it. Telling her that she was not participating would probably make her head explode. And even though Dottie was not particularly a person Y/n would describe as a friend just yet, she felt a certain need to please her. The risk of being cast out was not worth it if being part of something for once brought her a form of comfort again. The last time that was the case, a whole bunch of people was still alive...

“Maybe we’ll have to do something entirely different instead. Maybe check out the rest of the city, or take a ride on my Harley.”

“It’s finished?” She perked up as a shy blush crept on Bucky’s cheeks.

“There’s always something to do, but it drives if that’s what you’re asking.”

A short silence overtook the moment, in which even the TV seemed to lose all its sounds in the dim light by the windows. It was moments like these that made Y/N’s heart go crazy. Her consciousness was fed with the fantasies it had yearned for so many times before.

Y/N smiled up at him again, the candle she had lit before sitting down glimmering in his eyes and if there was a perfect moment to make a move in any movie, it would be right now. Nothing felt more like home than Bucky did to her. His arm was around her shoulder, his eyes locked with hers, the faint laughter of the TV echoing through the background. Hell, even the beer was perfect, even though it wasn’t her favorite drink.

“I would like that very much,” she whispered. They were still staring at each other. Intensity and tension thick as honey lingered in the air, but it was a comfortable one, telling her what she wanted to hear: It was going to happen - Y/N was sure of it.

“Good...” A quick glance at Bucky’s lips broke the connection of their eyes. But as short as it was, it had the desired effect as Bucky leaned closer. Excitement erupted in Y/N’s stomach when his hand moved around her, pulling her closer ever so slightly but not quite close enough. He still left her space to decide whether this was a step she was willing to take. Y/N was more ready than ever though. Every thought, every tear, every word of the past weeks had led up to this moment. And she anticipated it with all her being. Her desire for the man in front of her swept over her body in light goosebumps dissipating in tingles in her hands and ears.

A small smile tugged on Bucky’s mouth as he noticed her lingering eyes and she looked back up at his again, there was a message settled deep within the ocean blue. Go ahead - do it. Subtle but so so strong and Y/n couldn’t help the excitement from bubbling into her every being. She leaned in further, nose grazing the skin on his cheek and feeling the smile spread with the muscles pulling beneath. Eyes closed and determined she laid her hand on his chest, moving upwards to settle in his neck and pulling him down the last remaining centimeters until–

A loud knock ripped through the house causing Alpine to jump up with a startled meow and pull the pair on the sofa apart with wide eyes. There was no time to process the moment or pull the lingering desire back into her embrace as the noise sounded a second time. This time though more urgent in a way.

“Stay there.” Bucky’s face was stern but his eyes hosted an apology she had no obligation to. Y/N felt stiff on the soft cushions. All of the tingles and excitement had been sucked out of her body so fast, she didn't even know what she felt now. Dizzy. Dizzy was probably the best way to describe it. She watched as Bucky moved to the door with reluctance, her heart pounding like crazy and her mind spinning in confusion still. Carefully avoiding the windows, the Super Soldier reached the entryway, where he spied through the curtains to assess the threat. And when his shoulders lost the tension, making the muscles on his back soften and slack, Y/N allowed herself to calm down.

Bucky opened the door.

“Vision.” The red sythezoid entered the house and closed the door behind him with certainty. It was strange seeing him back in his normal form. Y/N had gotten quite used to the persona he had taken on when playing the suburban family dad. His “normal” self bore little to no expressions as it had always been. But something about his being here unsettled Y/N. She watched as he took in the house and then his eyes landed on her.

“I believe there is an abnormality.” With his hands behind his back, he stepped between the pair and towards the dining room.

“What do you mean?” Y/N followed Vision around the house, anxiousness spreading in her body faster than wildfire and all the good feelings from minutes before faded into darkness.

“I have tried to asses it but there seems to be a bigger issue than I thought.” He turned around and faced them again. “I thought you might be able to help me.”

“What do you mean?” Y/N reiterated, her hands sweaty as the fear crept up her spine but before she could get into her head about it, she felt Bucky’s presence beside her - grounding her and calming her down.

“I appear to be missing something and I cannot place it.”

The pair shared a concerned look. It was clear that neither of them had expected to have this conversation today - or ever for that matter. But Y/N also couldn’t leave him in the dark. Vision - poor dead resurrected Vision who had been pulled into his fate without even knowing what happened to him. There was a question in Y/N’s eyes when she looked back to Bucky, and when he answered with a warning head shake, she knew exactly what to do.

“Well, what do you remember?”

“Wanda, Westview. I think I am supposed to remember you, but I only ever heard from you in stories.” A short pause in which he turned to let his eyes wander over the walls again. “Everything before Westview - though somebody seems to want to make me believe that there was no before - is a memory. But I did not live those memories. They are different. They are not my own - or anybody's.”

It was a scary statement. Living memories that didn't belong to you. And even though Y/N couldn’t possibly know what it felt like, she knew that she needed to help Vision. At least as much as she could. Of course, there was no us win telling him certain specifics. Because what good would it do him to know he was dead. She needed him to trust her - they needed that. Because vision was most likely the key to this whole situation - whatever the situation was right about now. Because if you asked Y/N, everything was finally falling into place and she didn’t really crave a change of any sort again. She was fine with her life right now, fine with Westview and fine with Wanda...

Vision stepped forward, a small bow of his head signaling his dependency on her reaction and after another minute of debating, she pulled all her braveness from Bucky’s presence.

“You were created by a scientist - Tony Stark. You were Tony’s AI system for a while. Well, until a robot with a god complex created a body for you with the mind stone - Ultron.” She pointed at the yellow stone on his forehead and Vision’s hand immediately raised to touch it, making it glow. “Ever since then, you were part of the Avengers. A group of remarkable people, heroes, that protected the world from enemies no one else could fight. And we did... fight every single one of them.” A shaky breath escaped her at the thought of Tony. Her mind revisited memories she hadn’t dared touch in weeks, but for some reason, she didn't feel as devastated as the last time - when she was alone, surrounded by her own sorrow and self-pity.

“And after that?”

“You-“ But she stooped when Bucky’s hand found her waist, a light squeeze prevented her from talking as her heart jumped in her chest, pain and sadness mixing in her body like a confusing cocktail.

“You bought the house you live in with Wanda. Settled, became a family,” Bucky continued as his thumb rubbed reassuring circles on her shirt. It was an apology for the words neither of them could say to him.

“I See,” Vision replied before making his way to the door and opening it again. But before he stepped outside into the humid night air, he turned around one more time, finding Y/N’s eyes with sincerity. “Thank you.” And then the door fell shut, leaving Bucky and Y/N behind in the pretty blue house, eyes glued to the door hiding them from the rest of the world.

It was different now. Everything felt different compared to mere minutes prior, and neither of them could do anything about it. Bucky’s hand fell from her waist and the sudden coldness was not ignorable. There was a shift in Bucky she had seen too many times before, but for the first time, Y/N could fathom what was going on. Because she felt the same. It was the same game over and over again. As soon as life felt fine - as soon as she had gotten a taste of the dreams she didn’t dare voice out loud, it came crumbling down on her again. And she was buried under the ruins of emotions pushing her down, preventing her from enjoying the last traces of happiness still lingering in the air.

Y/N looked to the sofa where Alpine had settled again and with another second of purring from the cushions, determinations wept through her. No, not this time. Fate would not ruin it again. She finally had everything she ever wanted, and she would do anything to keep it from dissipating into thin air again.

Bucky had been awfully quiet ever since vision had left. When she looked around, Y/N found him by the kitchen sink, drinking a glass of water while mindlessly staring out into the empty streets. The tension in his shoulders from the first night was back in his body. Y/N could see it from the several feet away that separated her from her ‘fiancé’. Her fingers itched to touch him, to smooth over those tense shoulders and rub the frown from his handsome face. The worry lines were deeper than she thought when she positioned herself next to him. Her hip bumped his in an attempt to shake up the weird atmosphere in the room, but Bucky just let his head fall with a shake.

If she knew how- she would make it better. She would move mountains to see Bucky smile again and having to watch him like this pained her heart more than it should. But she would not push him to talk again. Even if they promised each other, Bucky would get all the time he needed to tell her what he was thinking about. And Y/N would be here - waiting. Because there was nothing that seemed more important than him.

“I’m terrified, Y/N.” Bucky’s voice broke through the silence - so low, Y/N could barely make out the words hanging in the air. “I feel like I’m not in control anymore.” His eyes were glassy, the slight panic evident with every twitch of his brow.

Y/N just looked at him with wide eyes, a weird mix of awe and concern written over her features. Bucky was brave for saying it out loud. She appreciated it, but it didn’t help ease the fear settling deep within her gut. The situation had been unpredictable from the start - who knew what other surprises waited for the pair in this town - and maybe, coming here had been a stupid idea after all.

“I tried to get out the very first day.” He whispered and Y/N's heart dropped. “But we’re stuck in here, Y/N. Nobody can get out.”

The tingle in her stomach merged with goosebumps that slowly traveled up her spine. Y/N understood his troubles, she really did, but something stopped her from telling him that. Maybe it was the sadness telling her that he had wanted to leave so soon, or maybe it was the intrusive thought of being left alone yet again. Nothing about this was good or something she should pay attention to, but it took all her strength to resist the urge anyway. She couldn’t let it overtake her. Bucky needed her calm and collected and not like the mess she felt like being right now.

“I’m sorry I didn’t tell you earlier.”

“It’s okay.” Except it didn’t quite feel that way.

Her gaze swept through the room in an attempt to find a solution hidden between the walls while Bucky stood still - lost and uneasy. Her eyes made the same round again: the window, the sink, the radio, the fridge, the cupbo- the radio. A smirk spread across her face. Though it was drunk from sadness in memories she had tried to suppress by this very medium. Just a couple months ago actually, when she had felt alone and sad and out of control. It was perfect.

“Maybe we should focus on the things we can control then.” A confused smile snuck on Bucky’s face, intrigue itching in the corners. He watched her approach the counter, her hand reaching forward to turn the little knob that made a familiar static rush through the speaker.

“Little things, no one can take away from us.” Her fingers fumbled with the radio still, calmly trying to find a station that didn’t play white noise.

“Like what?”

“Like...” Y/N celebrated silently as she bit her lip and turned around to Bucky who stood before her in awe. “Like dancing in the kitchen.”

Her hands found his by his side and Y/N slowly began to swing them to the beat of the pop song.

Bucky chuckled and Y/N’s heart warmed as she watched her attempts to draw the desired reaction from him. Though there was still a hint of suspicion in his smile, Y/n felt as if there was not all hope lost for the life she had acquired in Westview. “What are you doing?”

“Taking back control... step by step. See?” Y/N turned around as she let go of Bucky’s hand. The comfort fueling her from his touch was instantly lost at the loss of contact. She stopped then, turned around to him, and held his gaze with excited eyes. And even though Bucky looked as though he was nervous, he moved his feet to the unfamiliar beat coming from the speaker.

Y/N took his hands again and lead him to the song. Bucky really tried. Y/N could tell by the way he looked at his feet and bit his lip in order to hit the beat. It looked a little funny to be completely honest, but if it helped Bucky let loose and be distracted, she wouldn’t laugh. Slowly but surely, Bucky lost himself in the free motion she lead him in, but his movements were still stiff and foreign looking. It didn't matter though. She would hold on to the tiny piece of feeling featherlight again.

They both laughed when the song finally ended, heavily breathing and Y/N’s hair tussled by the sudden movements. The next song started playing, and it was a much slower, older one. Y/N stood still in the kitchen, unsure whether this was a sign to stop doing what they were doing.

“Now this is a little more up my alley,” Bucky stated as he reached for her hands again. They were warm now, both of them as they pulled her into his chest. His left hand held hers, firmly and safely.

“What are you doing, Bucky?” Y/N’s eyes were big, starting into his velvet blue orbs expectantly.

Bucky smiled and Y/N could have sworn that the soft wrinkles around his eyes told her to stay like this. “I’m taking back control... Is this okay?”

She just nodded knowingly, letting the warm feeling wash over her again. He swayed them from left to right for a couple counts until Bucky pulled away slightly, lifting his arm and twirling Y/N on the cold-pitched tiles. Her bare feet didn’t bother her, though. She felt comfortable - warm and content. Bucky pulled her back in and Y/N lay her head on his shoulder. She nuzzled her nose into his shirt with a giddy smile, letting his scent overtake her senses and his lead sway her into a soft trance.

It all seemed within reach again: the husband in the gray company car. Maybe he was riding a motorcycle now that she thought about it... yes, he definitely was.

Bucky’s head rested against hers as he rocked them through the song, the sounds of Bobby Vinton ringing through the window out on the street where they met with the summery air and dissipated into the night sky.

Meeting A Magical Man Pt. 71 End

Part 1: Link Prev: Link

“His favorite color is blue, so you better find a way to have blue roses in the centerpieces. I don’t care if the other flowers are real and those are fake as long as they don’t look like shit.” Phantom strolled through the crowd, the people parting out of his way. One would believe it was done by magic, but those who went to Phantom’s club knew better. Especially if he was sounding annoyed.

“Is he still trying to figure out the flowers?” Marvin asked from where he stood with Mare and Mad.

“Phantom’s taking planning the wedding very seriously,” Mad said.

“Which is why we’re tying him up during his bachelor party so he takes a break.” Mare chuckled.

“Also a great way to deliver a ‘night before’ present for Jackie.” Marvin giggled.

“Why would a tied-up Phantom be a present?” Mad asked.

“I’ll leave that for you to explain.” Marvin clicked his tongue at Mare. “And I think you’d like it, dear.” He added to Mad with a wink before slipping away.

“It’s a sex thing, isn’t it?” Mad asked.

“Yeah.” Mare laughed as he rubbed at his face with a hand. “How about a change in subject?”

“Okay. I like how Marvin talks.”

“I’ll admit, I can usually connect the dots you make with subject jumping, but I’m a little lost.”

“His ‘darlings’ and ‘honeys’ and ‘dears’ he can say the same word in a thousand different ways. Usually, I can’t pick up on subtle differences like that, but something about how Marvin talks makes sense. I can tell his ‘darlings’ with Chase are loved-filled, his ‘honeys’ with Anti are sarcastic, and his ‘dears’ to us are fun and friendly. And even if the word is different, the meanings are the same.” Mad spoke like he was casually stating a fact, but he had a smile with it.

“He does love using his pet names,” Mare said with a shrug.

“The connecting dots is because you always have a change in your face when Marvin uses one of those with me. I asked Chase about it, and he said you were jealous.” Mad sang the last word and chuckled.

“I do not-”

“Jackie finally found the shorts.” Phantom cut off Mare’s protest. “Ready to get dressed for your first day?”

“First day? You hired Mad? Why am I just now hearing about this?” Mare’s questions were answered by a wave of Phantom’s hand as he led Mad away. “It better be a safe gig.” He muttered to himself and walked off to do a lap around the club floor.

“I’m thinking of a purple button-up with black slacks and heeled boots,” Marvin said, sitting at a table with Anti. Chase stood behind him, hands on his shoulders and looking around every now and again. “Gonna make that one wear purple as well so we match.” Marvin pointed up at Chase.

“I don’t have a purple button-up,” Chase said.

“I’m going to buy you one, darling.” Marvin patted Chase’s hand. “We’re getting you a fitted suit and everything.”

“He’d look good in a suit~” Anti teased with a grin.

“The purple may depend on if you’re part of the wedding party. I’ve been hearing a lot of blue talk.” Dark sat a drink down in front of Anti as he took a seat, a different drink in his hand.

“I can work with blue. I can work with any color.” Marvin said with a prideful giggle.

“There’s still like six months until this wedding, and Phantom’s acting like it’s in a week.” Anti swirled the drink Dark gave him before taking a sip.

“Jackie’s like a headless chicken.” Chase chuckled. “They both just want it to be perfect.”

“Wilford and JJ’s wedding is next month. Maybe attending and seeing everything go fine will calm them.” Dark suggested as he gestured toward the dance floor where Wilford and JJ were jumping with the crowd. Robbie and Blank were out there as well, the two of them on a ‘not date’.

“Or watch it catch on fire and make them panic more,” Anti said with a cheeky grin.

“I’m helping with the wedding. It won’t catch on fire,” Dark stated.

“Should I be worried that we’re talking about fire?” Jackie asked with a laugh when he neared the table and overheard that last part of Dark’s comment.

“We’re talking about weddings,” Chase said.

“Now I’m really worried.” Jackie’s eyes widened.

“Nope, nope, not about yours, dude.” Chase quickly said, waving both hands in the air. “Focus change, it’s Mad’s first day. Think he’s excited?”

“He’s excited to start saving up some money for him and Mare to move out,” Marvin said. “I think after Chase walked in on them the other day, kind of kick-started that quest.”

“Does Mad have his freckles everywhere?” Anti asked.

“I don’t know, I wasn’t focusing on his ass,” Chase said.

“Whose ass?” Phantom laughed as he joined the group.

“Mad’s,” Marvin answered.

“I wanted to know if he has freckles on it.” Anti added.

“He’s going to be out in a moment, we can ask,” Phantom suggested.

“Why does it matter?” Dark rubbed at his temple like he had a headache.

“I’m curious. You have a mole on your ass.” Anti said.

“I did not want to know that.” Marvin stuck his tongue out in disgust.

“It’s on the left cheek, right-”

“You are not pointing out spots on my ass to the others.” Dark moved Anti’s pointing finger away from him.

“Should I come back later?” Mad had just walked up to the table and was tempted to turn right back around.

“You look adorable!” Marvin praised. “I told you he’d be a perfect shot boy.” He added to Phantom.

“I am not adorable.” Mad weakly protested, cheeks going a little pink.

“The theme you suggested was a good one. Adds to the cute card I wanted for it.” Phantom said with a nod, adjusting the headband Mad was wearing.

Mad had on some black shorts and a black shirt, and he also wore a headband with some ears, and his belt had a fox tail on the back. He held a tray of shot glasses filled with a few different liquors.

“I will set the accessories on fire,” Mad warned.

“Being cute will get you lots of tips,” Phantom said. “Use that pout to your advantage.”

“We can test it on Mare first.” Marvin grinned and got up. He went to Mad and turned him so he faced where Mare stood. Mare was busy talking to someone and hadn’t noticed Mad yet. “Go up to him, bat your eyelashes, and ask if he’d like a shot.”

“Add a ‘sir’ to the end of the question,” Dark said.

“Why?” Mad asked.

“Just trust me.” Dark took a sip of his drink.

“Okay?” Mad looked at Marvin and got a nod from him. “Okay.” He repeated and went off.

Mad walked up to Mare, tapping his arm to get his attention. Marvin couldn’t hold back his laugh at the face Mare made when he saw Mad and the way his eyes went even wider when Mad clearly said the line. Mare took the tray, sat it on a random table, took hold of Mad’s hand, and walked him away into the back of the club.

“It worked!” Marvin cheered with an even louder laugh.

“Gross,” Phantom said with a playful roll of his eyes. The look changed to one of excitement when the next song started playing. “Let’s dance, Jackie!” He grabbed Jackie’s hands and pulled him out to the dance floor.

“Darky~!” Anti exaggerated a whine as he pulled on Dark’s hands. “You owe me at least one dance!”

“Fine, fine, one dance.” Dark allowed himself to get dragged away.

“Would you like to dance?” Chase asked when Marvin stood at his side.

“I’m good for now. I’d like to be here with you.” Marvin leaned against Chase, holding his hand. He looked over his shoulder to where Henrik and Edward sat at the bar. Henrik’s face was a bright red, his laughs loud, and his slurred words showing his accent was even thicker. “Looks like Edward’s going to have his hands full tonight.”

“Just a little.” Chase chuckled before he smiled and leaned back against Marvin. “You know, I can still remember when Henrik suggested I go to you for my sleeping problems. He said he was ‘sending me to meet a magical man’. Little did we know at the time I was about to meet one of the best things to happen to me.”

“You need to stop being so cheesy.” Marvin lightly slapped Chase’s chest with his other hand, feeling his face going warm.

“Because it makes you blush?”

“Yes. And I don’t blush. That’s your job.”

“I like sharing.”

“You can keep it.”

“Come on, you two!” Phantom stepped in and grabbed Marvin while Jackie got Chase and they led them to the center of the dance floor.

Marvin went with it immediately, taking Chase’s hands and placing them on his hips while his own went around his neck, leading him in a little dance. He wasn’t sure how many songs played before something bumped into his back.

“Sorry!” Henrik laughed as he took a fumbling step back, getting caught by Edward.

“He wanted to dance,” Edward explained with his own laugh.

“It looked fun,” Henrik added. His hold on Edward’s arm was the main reason he stood somewhat straight.

“It is fun.” Marvin giggled. “And I think Mad and Mare just finished theirs.” He added when he saw Mad make his way back into the main room, headband missing, face red, and hair a mess. Mare followed Mad in and caught him before he wandered off. He fixed his hair and put the headband back in place and couldn’t keep him there much longer after Mad saw Marvin in the crowd. Mad squeezed his way through, Mare still following, and went up to Marvin.

“Looks like our group took over the middle,” Mad said. “Phantom won’t mind if we have a dance before I get to work, right?” He asked Mare.

“He’ll get over it if not.” Mare chuckled and pulled Mad away into said dance.

“Chase, I-” Marvin turned and stopped his comment when he realized Chase was no longer next to him and was currently up on Jackie’s shoulders, chanting along to the song.

Marvin smiled and just took in everything around him. Thinking about how his life was now and likely to be for at least a while. Surrounded by friends and their loved ones.

How Henrik was still the ‘mom-friend’ of the group. Even when drunk off his ass, he was asking Edward if he was okay and having fun. Edward had the biggest smile and kept a strong hold on Henrik to make sure he didn’t fall, unknowingly becoming the other mom-friend but embracing it nonetheless. Henrik had a boyfriend who’d fight the world for him and a son who would do the same.

How his friendship with Anti had returned, there were still some bumps in trust, but it was getting better and better. And how Dark was…well…he was tolerated at this point. Marvin likely would never see him as a friend friend, but Anti loved the bastard, and Marvin wasn’t going to take that away.

How Mad was his apprentice, always happy and eager to learn about everything and yet teaching Marvin more than he’d ever realize. He was still a little naive and awkward, trying his best to copy some of the dance moves he observed and having Mare adoring every aspect of him and helping him find the beat so he could dance a little smoother. Mare was able to be with his brother and with his boyfriend without fear of either getting hurt from a job he never expected to go the way it did.

How Jackie was now engaged and in love with Phantom. Going from the first man to break Marvin’s heart to the best friend of the man who now owned it. Phantom was now one of Marvin’s good friends as well, matching his energy and encouraging some extra chaos for the fun of it.

How he had Chase. Someone who went from a one-night stand to a friend with benefits to someone Marvin loved more than anything. He made Marvin realize he didn’t need to be alone to be strong. That he could have it all with someone by his side. Chase made him happy.

“Marv!” Chase laughed after almost falling off of Jackie. He climbed down and practically ran over to him. “Did you see us!? I caught a bottle in the air!”

“It was flawless, darling.” Marvin placed a hand on Chase’s cheek. “Just like you.” Chase smiled and stepped closer to Marvin, pressing their foreheads together.

“I love you, too,” Chase whispered before he leaned in to kiss Marvin.

Chase made Marvin very happy.

Since we have all these new party members, how would you rate them and their personas’ designs? Are they all hits or are some of them misses? Give the people your thoughts! *holds up microphone patiently*

Aw, I'm touched you want to hear more of my thoughts on the party member and Persona designs! Alright, sure.

Same as the last posts, I do really like all the newbies! Actually, this might be some of my favorite Personas yet, in particular.

And same disclaimers as last time as well; For thieves, I'm just commenting on what the design looks like it's doing/trying to do, and whether I think it works and I like it. For Personas, I'm not really taking into account how well they do (or don't) represent the figure they're supposed to be, just how well I think the design gets its concept across, and does (or doesn't) match its thief.

Starting out with Bui and Apseudes!

I love Bui's whole vibe, honestly. It feels lightly sci-fi/futuristic, and a little unreal, which is perfect for a teammate who's based on their video game avatar rather than their real real-world self, without being too much. My favorite part is easily the rollerskates! She gives me a vaguely Jet Set Radio Future vibe with them, though I wouldn't say she literally looks like a JSRF character, haha.

I do wonder about those... hair decoration... bunny ear things she has going on? She has them as Yui as well, but I'm very curious if that's a game thing or just a distinctive detail they chose to give her. It's not a problem, per se, just slightly strange in the way where looking at it, I feel like I want an answer for what it is/does? Same with that partial ring/collar thing that floats around her neck. It looks kind of unreal/sci-fi, sure, but it can look a little strange if you focus on it, and raises that same "what does this do?" question for me.

As for Apseudes, I do have to say, I love that it also mirrors her weird hair decoration/bunny ear-shaped things. Also, big fan of the hexagon half-dome thing, and the whole hydroelectric arms and legs thing she has going on. I'll admit, she looks notably more sci-fi than Bui, but I think they get away with it, because she also sort of looks like a power plant or something, which kind of goes with Bui's tech (as a power source), and also clearly reflects Apseudes' element.

Next, Puppet and Nemertes!

My favorite parts of Puppet are probably her visor, that strap thing going around her back and the little forked (almost coat tail-like?) thing around her waist that it appears to hook onto, and the thick, kind of water shoe-like soles of her shoes. Especially with her "weapon", she immediately gives the kind of sea explorer vibe I'm sure she's supposed to, so I think they're very successful on that front.

I do think her design can come off as just a tad boring overall? I think the grey on black isn't the best for helping someone to immediately notice the details. But we don't know her that well yet- this might honestly be fitting for her, for all I know right now! I think the only thing I actively dislike about her outfit is the sort of... grey fabric thing stretched over her chest that ends like halfway over her breasts? It just looks weird to me, like if her shirt was riding up or something, haha. But that might just be my personal opinion, I don't know if that's really a problem.

(My biggest question about Puppet is actually why her codename is Puppet, honestly. I really like it as a codename, I just wish I had more context for it!!)

Now, Nemertes compliments her sea explorer vibe perfectly, as far as I'm concerned. She does admittedly look a little more like a car wheel than a submarine, but the sea creature-theming and water around her more than makes up for it, at least for me. That's definitely my favorite part of her, actually- the tail and fins, along with those pink eyes (or eye-like) structures, and the shape of her head. Those pink eyes, along with the silvers and whites on her, also help to make Nermertes stand out actually a bit more than Puppet does, which ultimately makes sense when you consider Puppet spends basically all her time inside her Persona as a navigator.

On to Riddle and Daeira!

I really love Riddle, she's cute, immediately comes across as a prospector/miner (which, while this joke was probably not intended, makes it really funny that she's the youngest minor on the team), and also still feels entirely competent despite being much younger than the others, especially with all the machinery she wields. My favorite parts of her design are probably her mask (which doesn't make me think "miner" on its own, but somehow really works with the rest of the outfit), her clunky boots and gloves, the double collar going on (probably a shirt underneath the suit), and the puffy sleeves and shorts.

There's really just one detail of her design that bugs me- the weird gap between the tops of her socks and the end of her shorts. It's certainly not as bad as it could be, because her skintone at least isn't a major contrast that draws your eyes to this random bare skin on her thighs (as opposed to Violet in P5R, who does do that), but it still just feels unnecessary. I guess maybe it helps sell the idea of her shorts as shorts instead of pants, but... I don't know, it just bugs me a bit I suppose.

Daeira, then, is interesting because her colors are different from Riddle's (a lighter pink, more orange instead of yellow details, and then a dark blue instead of dark brown), but it still works with Riddle overall. I think it's because of two main things: 1) the pink and orange make Daeira feel a bit brassier, which matches the vibe of an old-fashioned prospector/inventor's big robot that she pilots around, and then 2) it makes Daeira feel a bit more like a big robot toy. I wouldn't say they're the best aesthetic match of the entire cast, but they definitely work together better than it feels like they should.

Last but not least, Sepia and Gorgyra!

Sepia's the one thief out of these four that I don't feel like I can immediately get a beat on what they were going for. He sort of has a gentleman... highwayman... vibe to me, maybe? It feels vaguely cowboy-era to me, and yet I wouldn't call him a cowboy. And the super fluffy cape collar seems to just throw off anything I'm thinking, haha. I like the design (other than maybe the extent of the cape fluff), I just can't quite read what the intention with it was. Maybe he's meant to be some kind of charlatan? He sort of gives the impression of someone a bit overconfident, but maybe not entirely infallible... I'm not really sure, though, so I think whatever the goal was could have been a bit clearer.

I do like the silver/copper lining on his outfit, though, and the hints of purple that are kind of subtle compared to the red gloves and tie (despite the fact that even the red gloves and the tie are desaturated compared to the other thieves). He does absolutely feel like a teammate who would use curse skills to me, even if I don't know exactly what's going on with him.

Sepia aside, I love Gorgyra's design. The pointed glass bottle shape, the scrolls of pink-purple text wrapped around it, the huge hat, the glasses and grin. It's so fun and distinct! It feels like some kind of literature wizard, but also that grin makes it seem just a bit less than trustworthy... I'll admit, I don't quite understand how all this is meant to go with Sepia's outfit, but they do at least share a similar color design (though with Gorgyra being lighter overall), so against the odds, they manage to feel like they go together anyway.

Aaaaaand that's everyone! I do really like these four, my individual nitpicks aside. I wish we got to know them better in this beta!! But I suppose that's something we'll have to look forward to in the future, at least.

Marcy's Journal: A Guide to Amphibia Full Review: The Gay Novel Masterpiece of Our Times

Hello all you happy frogs, newts, and toads! We're going back to Amphibia, because what's more fitting than visting some old friends over the holidays?

Well okay but this is a close second. As you can tell by the title i'm taking a look at the recently released Marcy's Journal: A Guide To Amphibia: A Rope of Sand. Marcy's Journal continues disney's on and off track record of making real life versions of books seen in their series, as seen with the stellar Journal 3 for Gravity Falls and Big Book Of Spells for Star Vs, both of which i'd be up for looking at some day and proudly own. These book use diary entries to help expand the canon, while also accurately representing the parts of the books we saw on screen. Their a grand slam multidemographically too: My niece who loves Gravity Falls has often borrowed my copy of Journal 3 simply because she loves pouring through it that much. And who wouldn't? To a nerd like me it's the best of both worlds as it's both a real piece of the show's universe.. but also has a practicality buying a prop version of said thing just doesn't have. It also helps a lot that both Journal 3 and Marcy's Journal came out AFTER their series ended, giving us one last taste of the show on the way out. It's why i'm disappointed Ducktales never got one as while the Art of Book is truly excellent, I reviewed that last month, it doesn't really expand the world or anything we didn't see. It'd be nice to get characters perspectives on things, especially since Webby and Huey BOTH had diary or diary like objects respectively.

Still we were lucky enough to get this wonderful book, as was I. See I intended to wait after the holidays when I had more money and while I got some on my 31st birthday last Friday, I didn't expect to find it when I took a jaunt to Barnes and Noble. I hoped maybe but given my attempts to find The Art of Ducktales in ANY store before giving up and using amazon as usual were entirely fruitless, I didn't have high hopes. It doesn't help mine doesn't update books often.. so it was a pleasant surprise to find a copy and I quickly snapped it up and poured through it a bit, instantly charmed by it. The book was worth the money too as it's a wonderful, well thought out bit of canon that helps expand on things, deepen marcy and anne's characters, and fills in some of the gaps we as a fandom were most vocal about. Seriously it's clear Matt Braly and co when writing this listened to us about what we missed and wove it into the story. Most questions our characters could answer they do in some way shape or form.

So as a result this review is going to have MASSIVE SPOILERS for the book as it would in any of my episode reviews. So come with me under the cut if you've either read it or can't afford it and thus want those juicy deets, as I explore one of the greatest, gayest, and some other g word tie in books i've read.

For Scale

The Books presentation is gorgeous. While I got the paperback version because i'ts what they had, so it's not likely 1:1 like the other re-creations Disney has done, I appricate both having a cheaper option, and that even with that it still looks and feels like a journal: it's got the size, the more yellowy pages and some marking on it. It seems like the kind of journal Marcy would pick out because it looks kinda fantasy ish.

The inside though is where it really shines: besides the page every entry has in addition to the carefully crafted words, painstaking and fun drawings of Marcy's. The book deftly switches between two styles for her portions: Smaller more cartoony drawings to help emphasizes full events due to the journals size, and lavish DND style fantasy drawings for her close up, neither fully matching the shows style, but still remaining just enough in it. We also get a nice running gag of Marcy drawing someone in a picture for Scale, using herself, Sprig and Polly. Another nice detail is when the Book shifts to Anne for the final third (more on that later), the art style changes, going completely to smaller more cartoony drawings, but in a completely different style. It's a small change, but it helps sell that these are anne's chapters. Her penmanship is also slightly different, and where Marcy uses red pen for underlines, Anne uses blue. It's a very small touch but it helps the book feel that much more real by giving it's two very different authors different yet similar styles.

So now we've got how it looks and feels out of the way, we can get into the meat of the book. The book is easily chunked up into four sections: The first third or so of the book detailing what happened to Marcy from waking up in Newtopia and falling down 200 flights of stairs to reuniting with Anne. Literally, there's a page of her going off to rescue the Plantars unaware Anne's there before the next page is her gushing over Anne for several paragraphs. The second deals with what we saw in Season 2 from Marcy's perspective, as well as fleshing out the bits of her story we DIDN'T see as clearly: We find out just what she was up to with Frobo for an episode, as well as exactly what offer Andrias made between "Day at the Aquarium" and when we see her next. The final main part of the story has Anne takeover post True Colors. It's a clever way to both have content related to season 3 and makes sense since that's the season that emphasized marcy's journal at all and parts of her passages actually do bring up the stuff Anne used for Clues. There's then two brief Epilogues: one covering the weeks after the girls return home up till Marcy leaves, and another 10 years later covering the events of the epilouge.. and a little something extra.

So with that in mind let's begin with…

Part 1: Captain Marcy and her Fearless Night Guard

So part one opens exactly with what we saw in the Theme Song Takeover, and a nice touch is ALL the thigns seen in that show up here.. and naturally that includes her memetic fall down a flight of stairs.. or rather 200 FLIGHTS OF STAIRS

We then get her recovery at the hosptial, as she realizes these are newts (after comparing them to some salamander aliens. Apparently Newts are senstive about being called salamnders. Who knew?), and gets adjusted to the world and her Iseki adventure. Seriously she calls it that. And in a few pages i'm reminded why I love this character: She's nerdy, awkward, and thus.. really relatable to myself. I too spout off about stuff only a few people care about for hours on end. It's how I got this as a career. She's a well defined character.

We see her meet olivia, and go into a LOT of detail on her, and Andrias, evne climbing into his robe pocket as you'd expect, and the two becoming buddies… and the audience wincing knowing, even if Marcy ultimately forgives him on some level.. he's going to cause this poor child a LOT of pain. A LOT.

We also get a rather painful detail.. any time Marcy gets close to talking outright about what LEAD her to amphibia in the first place.. she backtracks. She scribbles anything she writes about it out to the point I can't read it and is clearly panicking about the implications of what she's done and the pain she feels. It both hurt a lot.. and was somehow nice to see.

Hear me out: One complaint I saw crop up occasionally after True Colors was people wondering if Marcy could be forgiven after what she did. I did because A) SHE'S ONLY 13. and B) it was clear she had a lot of guilt: She's HORRIFIED when Andrias starts to outline it, not because she's been caught.. but because this is the worst thing she's done and someone she loved as the healthy father figure she never had and trusted was just outing it, taking everything he hadn't already from her. She tries backtracking and justifying.. but it's clear she's trying to talk HERSELF into it being okay as much as she's trying to talk Anne into it. At the sheer idea of loosing the people she loves most has broken her.

The book backs this up…

As i'ts clear from the getgo she feels massive guilt, but as we saw in the series tends to bottle that shit up instead of actually dealing with it. She's trying to just enjoy the adventure and not think abotu what she's done and the pressure just builds and builds for some time until eventually, it explodes during the game of Flipwart. After Marcy beat Andrias.. she poured her heart out to the guy, admitting what she did and why: See turns out Marcy's dad's only actions in the series, dumping a job transfer away from her friends without telling her and then getting mad when a 13 year old is understandably upset he didn't feel it important to talk about ANY of this with her prior to dropping this bombshell nad never considered her a factor.. was exactly who he was. Yeah, while he wasn't phsyically abusive or gaslighty, Mr. Wu was still a shitty dad who was overly strict on his daughter, pushed her way too hard from what we could tell, and it was clear the move was simply the last straw. We still don't learn MUCH about the guy though we do get to see him, Marcy's mom and sasha's parents thanks to some photos Anne puts in there later, but it puts a lot of Marcy's actions into context: She tried so hard to be good at school, to keep going, so long buckling under his pressure.. that she broke once he pushed too far and expected her to give up the only things besides her various fixations that made her happy.

It also makes Andrias' manipulations.. that much more horrible and why she didn't see all the red flags that much more obvious: He was the dad she always wanted, a kind jovial man who loved her quirks, gladly endulged in her intrests, didn't push her too hard, and actually listened. It also explains his own care for her despite his manipulations: He saw in himself someone pushed by an abusive (if not nearly to his dad's extent but to be fair his dad is a multiversal conquerer and right prick so fair enough) parent to be everything THEY want and not what the child actually wants. It's no wonder he kept trying to protect her from the core: he didn't want to shuffle her from one abuser to another despite ending up as one himself.

And yeah.. Marcy's dad is abusive. He does seem to change after everything , realizing what he was doing, but putting that much pressure on her, not remotely carring what she wanted, being overlys trict.. it's still not good parenting. Not being evil fantasy overlord bad dosen't mean you aren't a prick.. it just means you have a chance to correct it before it's too late.

Andrias encourages her to not tell them, to wait, that it'll hurt them and blah blah blah self serving nonsense.

We also get some of the infastructure stuff Marcy talked about in New Wartwood, and her bonding with Olvia who clearly worries about Mar Mar, though not as much as I would've liked given how much Olivia clearly cares for the girl on screen.

What we do get thoguh is a grand, epic adventure that explains where Marcy's cool new duds came from. Soon after arriving she sees The Night Guard, an elite squad dedicated to the city's defense, essentially why she responded to stuff like the ants. Naturally as would be most people's first repsonse to seeing a squad like that, she wants to join. I mean their no Ank-Morphok City Watch but they'll do in a pinch.

So after whipping up an explosive with some herbs she found, as she do, she impresses their head Albert who sends her on a major task: Get a golden egg from a golden crab. And look I loved this missoin already because it's a giant crabby boy. I love giant crabs. It's also the second time this month i've gottne to talk about them

So i'm eating well. Marcy of course solves it, studying i'ts patterns for days and figuring out a very clever trap for it, digging under it with a trench and using the various volcanic vents, which she'd figured out the timing for as it made a good clock, and knocked the fucker out and took the egg.

What makes this one of my faviorite moments in the book though, is that this was a training setup similar to the Kobiashi Maru in star trek only with more murder crabs, which makes it instantly better. She wasn't SUPPOSED to win, it was, much like that scenario , designed to teach recruits how to deal with failure. And just like James T. Kirk, she flipped the bitch.

Naturally this and the giant pile of money the egg brings in means Marcy gets fastracked from simply JOINING the Guard, to being a CAPTAIN and leading her own squad. And they are a fun bunch, original characters not hinted at in the series proper but still every bit as fun as the characters we got to know and love. Her squad consists of Javi, an egotistical too cool for school swordsman, Kettle, my favorite, a short newt with a hair trigger temper and tons of arrows and Femur, a senstive giant with a degree in classical muisc. And I guarantee this happened at least once

Team buildling takes some time, as the team was all brougt together by by Captain Ernst a totally swell guy who recently died and who i'm positive isn't evil. It's never hard when some new guy has to come and run a team someone else brought together, trained and made into a fighting force. It's why when Cyclops left the x-men he handed them off to Storm, who had been on the team for years at that point , knew them well and had the potential instead of Gary that guy down the street from the mansion who keeps offering to buy the New Mutants Beer.

Thankfully Marcy is more a Storm than a Gary. Granted she tries a very marcy move in trying to get the team to function via a rousing game of DND… also it's wild to realize that this universe has two diffrent versions of dnd as it also has Dungeons, Dungeons and More Dungeons.. though also plausable given just HOW many rpgs are out there.

This dosen't quite work, which makes sense. No what brings the party together is what brings most teams together: a giant ass fight forcing them to get their shit together: sometimes it's an island that walks like a man, sometimes it's a blue david tennant dragon, sometimes it's tryiing to get Gary home after he passes out on your lawn. For Team Marcy, it's a giant cobra, a bit i'd FORGOT was in the takeover. Using their teamwork and with Marcy playing on their various personality traits they beat the bitch, and now accept Marcy as one of them.

The main plot kicks in though with the next case, as a cult known as the order of the olms has been burning books

Yeah as someone who loves books and things being avaliable i'm with marcy in finding this heartbreaking and wanting her to catch the bitch. Having the outfitter guy from season 3 give them some galoshes, Team Marcy treks into the sewers. Sadly there aren't any teenage mutant ninja turtles or even regular presumably massive fire breathing ones, but we do meet my favorite addition from this book: Hamby, a weird newt who dresses up like the hamburglar and talks like Gollumn. Despite all appearance he isn't the one who did it and Marcy confirms it herself, realizing from his apperance and general..vibe that this sewer man isn't their guy and in exchange for a friend, Marcy's tamabuddy, he gladly gives them some spare robes and the time of their next meeting

From that Marcy learns about their leader gold mask, who has a sweet and horrifying ornate gold snake mask and the cult's next target, planning a massive intercept. We also get a sweet moment as we find out where Marcy got her sick crossbow: her team gifted it to her as thanks, formally and warmly welcoming her as their leader.

The sting.. goes pearshaped as while they manage to intercept the cult, Snakemask reveals himself.. to be ernst!

Yeah not a huge suprise. I had it spoiled for me via my thumbing around the book, but even then it's kinda obvious this is where it will go. Thankfully the twist itself isn't what's important.. it's how it impacts the character. Marcy was two steps from telling Anne and Sasha the truth when she found them.. but finding out about ernst, who also successfully destroys the old scrolls and what not he was sent after and gets away, challenging them all to come find him like the early game rpg big bad he is, destroys her team emotionally and leaves them scrambling for answers

Albert however refuses to let their team follow up as since they caught the cultists the mission seems over. Marcy however knows that A) maybe leaving a dangerous former captain who easily got the best of them despite being surrounded isn't a good thing and B) that there's more to this. Andrias naturally says his hands are tied and has no interest in actually searching into this more. If this comes off at all suspicious to you .. good it means you haven't forgotten what a lying dickhead this man is and are keenly picking up how burning down libraries full of ancient historical documents might benefit a guy who say, doesn't want history coming out before his evil plan is finished. We'll get to his exact hand in this soon enough.

So Marcy says

Partly because this is her perfect rpg quest.. I mean her reaction to the reveal before the reality of her friends depression set in was.. as you'd expect

But it shows her nature: she can get caught up in her hyper fixations, as I can, and loose the bigger picture.. but once she sees it she focuses on what matters. Her friends need answers and she's going to get them even if she has to go behind her best friends back to do it.

So they set sail for Dawnblood Island, and run into

GENERAL YUNAN, SCOURGE OF THE SAND WARS, DEFEATER OF RAGNAR THE WRETCHED AND THE YOUNGEST NEWT TO EVER ACHIEVE THE RANK OF GENERAL IN THE GRAND NEWTOPIAN ARMY!

Naturally Marcy is the only person in the canon to love that speech. She's a bit frosty to Marcy… and we later find out for hilarious reasons as she's mad Marcy didn't remember her from the hospital which is only because Marcy was hopped up on MMMM drugs. They quickly bond offer fighting some method actors. I mean who wouldn't want to punch newt jared leto in the face amirite?, pretending to be pirates, and Marcy saves them form certain death at yunanas hand.

Yunan plans to come back and fetch our heroes after she's done dealing with Grime.. given how that goes, i'ts no shock the two don't cross paths again in the book. That does leave them without a ride but that's not an issue for now as it's DUNGEON TIME BABY! I bet matt had a LOT of fun putting together what was basically a combination of a dnd campagin and an rpg dungeon.

Our heroes head through the castle, and Marcy gets her own eye flash moment like Anne's, though unlike anne's it dosen't go without notice: the rest of the party see it and comment on it and while Marcy isn't sure what happeend and assumes she just saw a puzzle she is curious.

The real show of course is finding Erest.. and despite so little page time he ends up being an engaging, intresting villian with nice parallels to marcy , a cool deisgn and a hell of a speech: As it turns out he faked his own death because he found the roll of a well regarded hero and mentor EXAUSTING. The more he kept having to do good.. the more he kept being crushed by the expectations people put in him and wanted a new life… just like Marcy. And just like Marcy andrias gave it to her… while Ernst's mysterious benefactor isn't named given his mission was to burn down libraries likely containing any trace of Andrias scheme.. yeah it's clear who it was. It also cleverly plugs the hole of "did newtopia have any records of the before time?" I mean I assumed Andrias had cleared them earlier but it makes sens eto use a public arson and a massive cult as a smokescreen. He even much like Marcy plans to have his friends and protges join him and is confused why they'd turn him down.. before deciding to kill them all.

The fight, as we find out after.. is brutal. Ernest easily takes out the team sans Marcy and even she is near death by the end, only winning thanks to a truly cool gambit that still nearly gets her choked out: She improvises a poition fo rplant growth, throws it down his armor and thus it rapid grows and almost treeafies him and he thus fall sinto the ocean. It's a tragic end.

The team spends the next few weeks stranded and recovering, till Marcy finds a boy.. yes WE FINALLY MEET JOE SPARROW. She tames him with song, befriends our boy of boys and future snail fucker,a nd uses him to get them home

While Andrias MILDLY dresses her down, he quickly lets the facade drop, being proud of marcy and giving her the royal advisor position we saw, likely to keep her from running off and possibly dying again or finding out his plans. As for her team they all retire: Javi and Kettle had a very obvious bout of belligerent sexual tension going that Marcy was shockingly genre blind to, and retire for the quite life, and Femur never really liked fighting in the first place and retires to herd sheep bugs with his soft tones. It's a fond farewell as while Marccy misses her friends, she understands this batch has to go and thier story is over. It also explains why the stuff with Anne and the Plantars pull her off. To her it's just her friends departing at the end of the journey it happens. For anne it's loosing her family.

Speaking of which

Part 2: Now We're Only Falling Apart So we go right up to the part where Marcy meets the Plantars and reunites with the love of her life: The Ants are attacking, Marcy manages to herd the newt advisors into actually doing something, and then goes to rescue the plantars and reunites with Anne.. and spends two paragraphs gushing over her, at first not even making coherent noises, and drawing her with an aura of light around her and with Anne blushing.

So yeah this brings me to something i've been saving up till now: If you like shipping sashanne, annearcy, marcsha or like me sashanarcy..

This book.. is gay as hell. There's a picture of Marcy in a heart blushing surronded by sasha and anne, an artists interpretation of them reuniting with all three blushng and like I said Marcy spending TWO WHOLE PARAGRAPHS on gushing about having anne back. And that's not getting into Sasha's anime drawing of the Anne vs Sasha fight having both blushing. And while Marcy DOES tend to throw blushes into her style from time to time it mostly happens with her self portraits specifically whenever one fo the girls is around. Like ti's the only timne it happens. Her subconscious coudln't be flashing

Harder if it tried. If it wasn't clear enough in seris it's very clear the girls are romantically interested in one another and the only reason matt didn't persue it is that it'd clash with the ending of the work. And he still manages to help us eat good as she outright calls Sasha and Anne "my loves" in her epilouge, and Sasha outright invites Marcy to live with her as an adult… followed by Adult Marcy talking about how love is a wonderful thing. Subtly is not matt's strong suit when it comes to this sort of thing and i'm here for it. There is a lot of sweet adorable content here and i'm glad it's here.

Unlike part one I won't be recaping this one piece by piece, but that's because parts 2 and 3 are MOSTLY simply the episodes we have seen.. just from the characters perspective. This isn't a bad thing: it's nice to get Marcy's own take on what happened, and to see what she was going through integrally, as well as gets nice bits and bobs of what we didn't see. It's similar to the dipper section of Journal 3 and parts of ford's second section: we saw most of this happen, but it's still neat to see what the characters thought of these events.

As such most of it just nice little stuff like Marcy gushing over Anne, talking about bonding with Sprig.. and most importantly her reaction to Sasha. We didn't really see it on screen.. but needless to say she's horrified. It also fully confirms that Anne didn't tell her the full story. It wasn't out of malice or anything, it's clear the event traumatized the poor girl and she didn't want to relieve one of the loves of her life attempting to throw herself off a tower after trying to kill her new best friend.

It makes things nicely complicated: Marcy understandably clings to Sasha and Anne reconciling both because loosing them would destroy her so she likely would've pushed for them getting back together either way.. but without the full picture she does so halfphazzardly, trying to shove them back together, as this helpful graphic shows

Instead of adress thier underlying issues. Sasha had a LOT to work out and as we'll get into in a moment with part 3, a reason why she was the way she was. It shows Marcy for what she was: a scared child who badly needed therapy,k had been pushed too far and has trouble relating to people at times. She has friends, girlfriends can connect with people.. but as someone on the spectrum myself, there's a fine line between that and being able to read people emotionally sometimes. I also have a bad problem of badly trying to fix an emotional issue instead of maybe letting it sit a second so the person can cool off, of wanting so badly to be liked and loved I forgot I don't have to try so hard. So I get where Marcy's coming from and my heart breaks seeing her like this.

We of course get her perspective on various episodes, including the fact she never really found out what went on with Hop Pop and Anne's schism, and that she loved getting to stay in the Fwagon between adventures.

The main stuff though is mostly what we didn't see. For starters we do get to see exactly what happened, or at least marcy's version of , what happened post "Day at the Aquarium". Marcy's former experince saying goodbye.. helps make it clear WHY she thought Anne would just leave the plantars and stay with her, and to her credit while Marcy writes down some pretty self destructive thoughs about anne possibly not wanting to be her friend or choosing them over her.. she snaps herself out of it, pointing out of course she wouldnt' want to say goodbye to her found family this soon, that she loves them, and it's really just Marcy worrying MORE about everything falling apart.

We also see exactly waht Andrias did: he gave Marcy her comfort food, Chicken Fly Nuggets (Which ngl even with the fly part in the title made me hungry enough for chicken nuggets I made some, as my dad sent a big frozen bag of em home with me after christmas dinner earlier this month), and outlined his fake "explore the multiverse plan". So yeah if you thought pre-face turn andrias coudln't get worse.. he manipulated a stressed out child's insecuritiys to further his own diabolical scheme to rob her of power that was rightfully hers.

The other extra scene so to speak we get is what exactly whe was doing with Frobo in that shed

Turns out she just spent the day testing him out. Though we do find something interesting about Frobes as a result: turns out part of why he ended up the way he was wasn't just being woken up early, something overwrote his UI with Rules of the Road.. which at first I thought they just crammed the book in there, but clearly Leif, on her way to the valley, must've stopped at the nearest factory and overwrote it with the family document. It also leaves fanfic possibilities for all of ya'll overflowing as it possibly means any other frobots coming out of that dome.. would've had the same basic start as Frobo, and as a third, which I can use for.. future projects, it means said UI COULD be used as the base blueprint to repurpose the war made frobots and give them the same chance Frobo got.

Finally for the wartwood portion of things we have her thoughts on Maddie. Which of course i'd focus on, she's my spirtual adopted daughter, but what's nice about it is the freindship seems like a first for BOTH of them. It has Marcy realising she's never really just been able to blab about her hyperfixations with someone whose gneuinely intrested and vice versa for Maddie, and that whlie Sasha and Anne "listneed" they weren't really paying attention. While Marcy didn't get AS much growth right away as the girls, it's nice to see her have some introspection during her journey.

So we finally come to true colors.. and all we get is a very gutwrenching page barely scribbled together in time after Marcy rescues Sprig.. and it HURTS as much as you'd expect, with it starting with a giantly written out and underlined he lied, more panicked thoughts, another large sentence this time "What have I done?… " and then a very small "i'm so sorry"

Part 3: Now For Someone Completely Diffrent

So Part 3 is written by Anne, switching things up entirley. And out of the three sections this is the one that most feels like Matt listneed to what fans had constant questions about. We do get some nice self reflection from Anne as she realizes both how little she used to care about her parents.. and how much things have changed, from seeing them as overprotective hovering jailers.. to the wonderful people they are.

We do get some common questoins I and others had first. The biggest is WHY DIDN'T SHE TELL SASHA'S PARENTS. As it turns out there was a good reason for that: The story was hard to belivie (as Oum himself said, if he wasn't seeing frogs first hand he wouldnt' see it) and there's no guaranttee they woudln't call the police or goverment or something. It was a crappy situation and Anne felt terrible.. but telling them would've been too risky to try. That said

Unlike some other things we'll get into.. there was PLENTY of room to adress this in a line of dialouge. So while I do appricate Matt explaning it here.. it's one of the few things I felt could've been squeezed into the series easier.

The book more than makes up for it though by giving us a LOT of answers on Sasha and Marcy's parents. Granted

But we get photos taped into the diary of both, and what exactly their situations are. With Marcy we already got most of it from her end, we do find out her parents didn't leave right away as they waited for her and were clearly stressed over loosing her. It's a low bar to clear but.. it's proof they aren't as horrible and there is hope for them to change. There's more hope later, but we'll get to that.

We also get Sasha's background and while I feel the character was fleshed out well in the series, both this and marcy's pressure should've ben threaded in right now as it explains a lot. The book confirms what fans thought from the seperate letters: her parents are divorced and while Sasha didn't tell Anne much, unsuprisingly she was very private.. what she does know fiills things in a lot: Sasha's parents both basically started new families: her dad remarried and her mom is dating someone with his own children. I don't think they fully threw her to the side.. but as Anne says it seems like Sasha got lost at sea.. and thus her control issues come from wanting something in her life. Anne also clearly forgives both.. she admits it'll still take a while for the wounds to heal, she leanred that from the incident with hop pop.. but gets that with Sasha they maybe leaned on her a bit much and while it dosen't forgie he ractions, it makes how much she leaned into the roll, coupled with being the only stable thing in her life, understandable, with with Marcy she's just worried why she didn't talk and admits she and sasha also fucked up plenty. We also get a ncie moment as this is all because her nightmares, incudling being DEATHLY afraid Marcy died and unable to admit it to herself, kept her up.. and Sprig noticed she wasn't in the room, made her coco and went out to comfort her.

We also later get more on Marcy as Anne finally reads her entreis.. and is sad she had no idea how much pain Marcy was keeping inside, and wishes she coudl've helped her. We also find out how they met: They were three, at the beach, and Marcy built an elaborate sand castle when Anne asked her to play. Marcy then went on about some game she loved, and Anne liked her and helped try to keep the waves back. It's as sweet as it is just.. painful.

We also get a nice coda to the episode abotu Sprig wanting Bee to be his mom. By the way it's an adjustment getting to use their names. I went through the WHOLE of the season 3 recaps desperatly trying to find a name.. nad Matt revealed them five minutes after the finale

So it's very nice to get to refer to them with actual names. Naturally once Anne told Oum why he did all that, she understood, felt bad for him, and made him bug pancakes , realizing the kid really did need a mom. She also taught him to sew later, which anne found nice.. then regretted when she found out about the whole Frog Man thing. We also find out Trantulad was a faviorite of Bees. Big nerd just like me. Knew there was a reason I liked this man…. besides everything else about him.

We also get what i'm sure anyone reading this was hoping for: Anne on MMMMM Drugs entry! Yeah we get the wacked out on painkillers entry my dudes.. and it turns out the Domino bit of foreshadowing for the finale was a bit more direct as the Gem God visited her directly during that dream, and said your fun, still using the domino form just with wings. So apparently getting stoned allows you to talk to them directly. Intresting

Also intresitng is that Terry is nonbinary. Yeah, it never came up in series, as they werne't sadly in it long enough but they are. They use they them prounouns. I love it and i'm sorry all my old entreis have all she's and her's. I didn't know.

Outside of some nice reflectoins on Anne realizing just how much her parents missed her and what she was missing out on not being as close, there's a LOT of wholesome anne and parents content in her part of the journal, a delcious recipie and Anne unsuprisingly having wanted heelies at some point, we're done with the earth portion of things.

For Amphibia , it turns out Marcy isn't the only one to melt into a very gay pile over a new look from Sasha as Anne also spends several paragrpahs talking about the nw and improved her, and drawing it. SO yeah these three were meants to be. We get some nice stuff on the various season 3 episodes, mostly Anne and Sasha's reconciliation, but the two episodes anne wasn't there for give us two bonus stories: While Sprig and Ivy were on their missoin and during "Grime's Pupil: for the former we find out she took time to catch up and as such we find out what exactly everyone did in the resitance besides missions: Wally composed Jingles, Mayor Toadstool took care of rationing suplies, Maddie was their medic, Croaker was their spymaster and intellegence, Grime their weaponsmaster and trainer and Logel.. taught exercise classes. I mean.. everything helps and he didn't get that buff overnight.

The other is Marcy and Anne just having a nice relaxing spa day. It was mentiond in the episode buti 'm glad they really done did it. They certainly earned it. We also get several sketches of Domino 2 and babies for a page. But with that we reach the final entry and entere the finale. .and unlike Marcy Anne dosen't journal like crazy, so her sectoin ends here

part 3 is incredible , a nice bit of fleshing out and of ironing out parts that were missing. That leaves us with

Epilouge 1: You're The Part of Me That Makes Me Better, Wherever I go.

So we find out what happened between our heroes leaving Amphibia, which Marcy writs an entry on, and the time skip. To her shock, Marcy's parents werne't mad at her, undersrtood what happened and felt she had nothing to apologize for, hinting that things seemed to get better after this. Marcy's Dad did have to leave early for the job and left her with her mom after a bit of her recovery, as Marcy needed plenty of doctors to check her out, got therapy

And generally calmed down. This also gave her one last summer with the girls , which depsite al lthe pain of recovery.. was nice. We even get both of them on the last day trying to play cauldrons and caverns, with Marcy appricaiting the gesture and them trying to show intrest in her stuff , and genuinely this time. She lets them off from having to do that as she gets they didn't quite enjoy it, but finds a ncie medium: they can find stuff they both enjoy and Sassh and Anne can at least try to find stuff marcy loves they enjoy to instead of jus tchecking out> Their their best couply selves as things end.

We also find out why they coudlnt' just use the portal: While I figured it was power issues, without the stones around in any form, seemingly, getting the portal working is hard. It dosne't help said portal is being kept top secret, though for VERY good reason: Mr. X feels no one country should have this power. Unless tehir krakoa but the mutants have earned it after about 80 or so geoncides so.. Terri and Him plan to keep working on it, it just may take a while.

So with that we get a tearful godobye and marcy calling them her loves because this book hadn't torn me the fuck up enough yet apparently. and thus

Epilogue 2: No One Needs To Say Goodbye

So we get a short section with Marcy 10 years later. We find out more about her web comci, which is directly based on Anne's adventures (Presumibly with her consent) Amphibi-Anne, likely a working title for the show and nicely worked in, and it's getting a print version soon. Nice girl, webcomics don't get those enough these days. We also find out Marcy decided to stay in LA with the girls…. no reallys he moved in with sasha and says love is a wonderful thing afterword. This is canon. It also made sense, as a webcomic writer she can work anywhere as long as her tools come with her and i've seen at leas ttwo have huge moves from one state to another, whcih were worked into the comics themselves. We also get a nice tease for a possible future sequel as Terri invites the trio to the lab as they have something for them.

NEVER THE END

Marcy's Journal is truly excellent, possibly the best of these three books though Journal 3 is still pretty close with it's immaculate drawings. This one is close though, and offers keen insight into the series, helps paper over what Matt missed the first go round and sets us up for a possible sequel down the line, in print or otherwise. It's everything you could hope and ask for and more so buy it. Buying these helps make sure we get more books like this and with Disney's new deal with tokyopop might mean these are more afordable for them to do too. Granted they still need to pay them, yeah I didn't forget the owl house light novel thing, but it gives me hope for the future> Thanks for reading and happy holidays.

Hello there!

So SO happy I could introduce you to all this, and you have no idea how giddy this question makes me! Let’s see now, where to begin?

I suppose a good place to start would be figuring out what kinds of Aquatic media you’re really into, as Aqua as an aesthetic genre can actually be somewhat vast! If you haven’t already, I would recommend taking a glance over at my “What is Aqua?” post to get a good idea of just what all may be included under the label. Who knows, you may just realize something I don’t have listed fits the definition!

If you like Aqua Mouses though, I think I may have a decent idea as to what else you may like.

Aqua Mouses are most known for their tanks full of alcohol and colored oil which creates a 2 layer liquid appearance, most often with a charm floating on top, riding the wave so to speak.

If that’s peak Aqua appeal for you, you may also take interest in Liquid Wave Paperweights, Liquid Motion Timers, and Floater Keychains!

For the purpose of collecting, some of my personal favorite buy & sell sites have been Mercari, eBay, Etsy, Amazon, and AliExpress. Mercari is great for buying lots of items, and if you’re buying multiple things from one seller, they will often be open to bundling to save on shipping, sometimes quite uncommon items will pop up as well! eBay is great for less common and vintage items, I’ve gotten most of my best scores from there. Etsy is also good for the same reasons as eBay. Amazon can have a decent selection, including bulk items! AliExpress often has lots of cheaper items, but be warned, sometimes items will be of inferior quality, definitely check reviews! With the first 3 you can save searches and set it up so you receive notifications if a new item matching the keywords you saved is listed, this is my go-to method usually. If you have the chance though, check out some touristy locations and look for souvenir shops! They’ll very often have some Aqua items, at least from my experience. Found some myself just today!

USEFUL SEARCH KEYWORDS: [ Paperweight, Timer, Keychain, Desk, Desk Toy, Cube, Cubic, Acrylic, Liquid, Liquid Motion, Oil, Quicksand, Float, Floating, Floater, Wave, Waving, Surf, Moving, Motion, Rocking, Rocker, Bubbler, Hourglass, Souvenir, Animal ]

Try out as many combinations of the above keywords as you like until you find some that suit your needs. I do not recommend adding the word “Sensory” to your search unless you are just looking for images, as items advertised as Sensory have notoriously been raised in price.

Now as for my particular favorites, I’m rather fond of Water Games! Specifically vintage, bizarre, and or tech-mimicking (Faux Tech) kinds! Water Games are the bulk of my collection really, as they’re usually on the cheaper side, and are simple nostalgic fun!

As for blogs and image boards, there sadly aren’t many out there about the broad idea of Aqua that I’m currently aware of, that’s part of why I started this blog actually! However, I’ve recommended them before and I’ll do so again; @bootlegpals and @oceantoyz are great blogs that also post occasional Aqua content! Real cool people, check ‘em out for sure.

Pinterest can also sometimes be a decent source for Aqua images you haven’t already seen, though I’ll warn you, it can take a little while of searching and training the algorithm through what you view and save to really start showing you some neat stuff. Just be aware: a lot of images that aren’t uploaded directly from source links are not credited at all, but a bit of reverse image searching can remedy this if you intend on sharing the images yourself.

Xiao wei: oh meimei, relax. That's eyeliner. This is the eye shadow here, or the huadian. Also here's the lipstick.

A-Qing: thank you!

You know mo xuanyu is soo sweet, sending me these things.

First Killl! Here's my live (ish) blog of E07 "First Goodbye."

the english captions on this are so bad. Netflix do better.

Ben and Cal and a bunch of students are questioned by the cops. This is so so bad. No! Don't talk to cops. And if you ever do, never talk to them alone. At least Cal says: "where I come from police can't question a minor without an adult present." and then she leaves, not asking for permission. Cops want you to think you have to stay, even when you are not detained. Fuck cops. ACAB.

they got the whitest looking Latino guy to be the "spanish speaking character with 20 seconds of screen time." *eyeroll*

Both J and C end up surprising their parents by bringing the other to their home in this episode. Both parents are NOT into it, but eventually come around to not actively killing the girlfriend. I like that the show makes it clear the parents have zero issue with their queerness. (Cal explains her family is fine with it, and Juliette's sister was good with it.) The problem is the whole vampire - hunter thing.

Yay! Cal's parents are very supportive re the bad watcher guy that Juliette ended up killing. And then both of Cal's parents are in super protective mode when the terrible Guild people show up. The Guild is like the Watcher's Council (from BTVS) but more diverse, more competent, and not British. Fuck 'em. Funny that the one Guild woman is possibly an ex of Jack's.

It feels very real that Juliette makes this off-hand joke about Cal being a monster in the car to a cop and that spirals into the mob looking for Cal. Even the cop snidely remarks on Juliette's privilege in making the joke. The monster checkpoints only seem to work for vampires since they use silver. (see police aren't good for anything!)

Oliver makes another appearance. I def don't trust him. Apparently Sebastian is a ghoul, whatever that means. He's now stronger? They fight but Oliver leaves in the end.

The MAAM group, led by Bunny, is still dismissed by the show. Desperate Housewives, Lululemon lunatics. LOL that Bunny, the only southern accented character, is listening to Shania Twain's "Man I Feel Like a Woman." Shania has a fake country accent and this song was a big country crossover hit. It's a catchy tune with a laughable "we're rebelling against restrictions" vibe. Huh.

Uh. Theo! Here's a gif from earlier where he lies to protect Cal. He feels alone about his mom-trauma-flashbacks so he isolates himself. Nooooo. I love love love the scene where Talia agrees to "leave him alone" (meaning stop trying to talk about it) but then gives him a huge hug, which he gladly accepts. But..... the episode ends and after Apollo accidentally stabs him it seems like maybe he's dead? Or very badly injured??

Apollo and Elinor, who met before, end up making out in the bar bathroom. This clearly ends badly with the stabbing, and she mind melds both Apollo and Theo so they forget what happened. She doesn't seem sad or concerned at all. I DO buy A and E as a potential couple. A and E fit together, the way they act and their personality, and I feel like they are well matched looks-wise. Note E admits "I always fall for the stupid ones" meaning she was falling for A. But getting him to stab his brother is not a good move for any sort of budding relationship or even hookup.

To reduce your risk of such diseases, the American College of Sports Medicine and the British Heart Foundation recommend getting 150 minutes of moderate-intensity or 75 minutes of vigorous-intensity aerobic exercise per week. If your home workout routine involves working out for 30 minutes a day five days per week, you can meet these physical activity guidelines. There are other physical and mental health benefits you may also enjoy from daily 30 minute home workouts, such as weight management, improved cardiovascular fitness, greater muscular strength, decreased stress and better sleep. According to the National Center for Health Research if you’re new to working out or haven’t been very active, it’s a good idea to start exercising at a low intensity, then slowly increase the amount and intensity of exercise each week.
