But certain people in the community need to look up the definition of incest.

For starters, Considering or otherwise viewing someone a relative does not make a relationship with them incestuous. I can consider my roommate my sister, but if we were to wind up romantically/sexually involved, it would not be incest because we are not related by blood.

As an example: Step siblings, who are a part of the same family due to their parents having gotten married, are legally allowed to be in relationships and even get married to each other. Is it weird, because on paper they are siblings? Yes. But is it incest? Nope!

The other fact of the matter is that the characters that we're referring to are animatronics and not people. They cannot share blood relations, which is a requirement for a relationship to be considered incestuous.

This ties back to incest being illegal, by and large, due to the the risk of genetic disorders (on top of high likelihood of grooming and SA on a minor depending on the individuals in question). Which also can't really be applied to animatronics.

Incest is fucked up. It has led to a lot of damage throughout human history and the ones that have largely had to suffer from it are the children born of it, and the children groomed into it.

Do not fucking equate animatronics being in a relationship to incest. It is a sheer defiance of logic and, by and large, a spit in the face to the actual victims of it who will suffer the real world consequences of it.

The taller, the leaner of the two takes the initiative. He approaches the object of interest, paying no mind to the now-clicking meter clipped to his legwear.

The taller boy draws yet closer. “I mean, how is this thing even still standing?” He asks with a laugh as he rattles the post back and forth.

The plate creaks as it is playfully thrashed about, before falling from its place, down into the sand.

“Welp, there’s your answer. ‘Cause we hadn’t come around yet,” the little cynic shrugs.

“Oh, shut up, you,” the jester playfully retorts.

“What does it even say?”

“How’s about we find out for ourselves, bud?”

As the investigator lowers himself to read, the bystander, still a few paces back from everything, notices a glyph that makes the distance close in the blink of an eye.

“WAIT, HOLY SHIT, IS THAT ENGLISH?”

“Woah, now that you mention it, you’re right! Heh, you and your vintage nerd shit! Good eye, bro!” He offers a fist bump, but the once-dismissive youth is now too absorbed to notice.

“This must be from before the New Age! Give me a minute, I can probably read this, if all this rust’ll let me.”

In a rare show of excitement, the boy leans in a bit closer, just close enough to barely - yet unmistakably - make out the first two lines.

hey real quick bc i haven't seen anyone really talk about it; fuck Hoarders. what a disgusting fucking show. like i know a lotta content boils down to "let's gawk at mentally ill or poor or whatever ppl" but this one specifically really peels my paint. it's sickening. let's spend an hour walking around someone's house and going "wow!! look how fucked this is!!! i can't believe you live like this (despite having done like 13 seasons of this)!!!! you really need to get your act together, buster!" and then interviewing the family to get sound bites demonstrating how much of an Unreasonable Burden the subject is and (without actually helping any of the mental health issues that may lead someone to hoard) roll their eyes at them when they are upset at someone taking and trashing/destroying their precious belongings (or are made to do it themselves). and then half the time in the where are they now segment it's like "yeah they relapsed lol idk ¯\_(ツ)_/¯" like??? no shit dumbass.

i don't care how strange their homes or habits are. these people are deserving of compassion and real, honest help. they don't need people to marvel at how Kooky Wacky Bonkers™ they are, and they don't need people to hurt them just because they don't understand what they see in their possessions or are embarrassed by knowing them or whatever.

we don't need another voyeuristic savior-complex charade where the condition for The Most Half-Assed Help You've Ever Seen is being publicly humiliated and having to destroy things that mean a lot to you. what the fuck.
