I love reading/writing Yuri!!! on Ice stories that center around Viktor's insecurities around his "worthiness" of being w/ Yuuri.

The fandom has (understandably) created tons of content around Yuuri's insecurities, but I find it really compelling to ideate around this "Living Legend" superstar athlete -- who, prior to finding love, built up pretty much his entire life around his career -- and his worry that the love of his life will one day tire of him, especially the closer that Yuuri approaches retirement and no longer needs Viktor to be his coach.

It's the subject of an ongoing post-canon, married Viktuuri story I've been working on, which currently has three chapters out (of five total, but that chapter count could very well increase, lol). You'll see it's part of my larger series, but IMO, you can still enjoy/understand it without reading the other works.

It's a Viktor POV fic, whose premise is that Yuuri (who has now achieved certification to teach group pole dancing classes) one day gets approached by a fellow instructor around teaching one-one-one classes. He mentions this idea to Viktor, but appears underconfident around it, so Viktor volunteers to become his "trial student" in order to help his husband get used to the idea around someone he already knows/is comfortable around.

While the overall story might appear light-hearted (especially b/c this arrangement gives these two ample opportunity to be all flirty and eros with one another), a big theme in the story is Viktor's insecurity around being a beginner/bad at something. It's a concept that he's still not used to, post-retirement: not immediately being an expert at things, and having to accept that he can be bad at something, and still entirely lovable, anyway.

The other element of the story that's been exciting to explore is the idea that Viktor is approaching this arrangement with a somewhat ulterior motive that taps directly into his own insecurities. While, yes, he is ultimately hoping that being Yuuri's student will boost his husband's confidence in his own teaching skills, he also believes that he needs to find more and more ways to "hold" Yuuri's interest, especially given his student's approaching retirement (after the 2022 Beijing Olympics). Once Yuuri retires and no longer needs Viktor as his coach, what could Viktor have to possibly offer him? Maybe if he learns how to pole-dance, his husband will still find him sexy and inspirational and interesting.

It's easy for an outside observer to be like "Viktor, you idiot...Yuuri has been obsessed with you since he was twelve, he's not going to suddenly think you're boring when you're no longer his coach", but that's the thing about insecurities: they're rarely rational, or based in logic. Mine certainly aren't. 

As accomplished and impressive as he is, Viktor still needs reminders that who he is, inherently, is absolutely enough, whether that means he is an expert pole dancer like Yuuri, or a complete novice. A lot of this also taps into my headcanons around Viktor's childhood trauma and strained relationship with his parents, which has given him significant abandonment issues.

Gah, thinking about it really gets me in my feels; I can't wait to finish this WIP up, and hope you all would consider checking it out, now or once it's completed.

It's cute, funny, steamy, and romantic, but also expands on Yuuri's anxiety and insecurities, and Viktor's mental issues. I've did a hell lot of research to write a canonically accurate story with properly depicted figure skating and Japanse culture.

I'm working on a series of sequels to CYHMH that narrate the story of Yuuri and Viktor beyond the anime, including lots of domestic Viktuuri, mental health issues, the 2018 Olympics, and figure skating drama (there is no figure skating without drama). These works are in different stages of writing/editing and thus not yet ready for posting.

Did My Heart Love ‘Til Now (“season 1.5”): narrates the rest of the figure skating season from Yuri!!! until World Championships and an important event thereafter. The current draft is 330k words long. Rating: mature or higher. Will be posted right after CYHMH. I'm currently looking for beta readers!

In Love and War (“season 2”): is about Yuuri and Viktor turning from husbands to rivals on the ice while training in St. Petersburg. Rating: mature or higher. First draft is at 66%

Tides of War ("season ?"): A short-novel sized fix-it story about the events of the Beijing Olympics and spring 2022 and how the YOI characters deal with them (especially Viktor). This story was my attempt to cope with these events. Unedited draft.

The Sorrows of Young Vitya (working title): Covers Vitya's childhood and adolescence. This story is the result of all the bits of backstory I invented from him while working on the abovementioned works. It's not a substitute for the movie. Draft at 50%.

Some stuff about me

I'm not new to writing and certainly not new to fanfiction, but this is the first time I’m writing for such a huge fandom like Yuri!!!, which is quite overwhelming at times.

My pseud is a combination of a book title of the YA fantasy series The Song of the Lioness by Tamora Pierce, which I adored as a teen, and my love for Japanese culture. I love analysing the things I obsess over, and I do this quite excessively, which currently applies to Yuri!!! and results in the occasional meta-analysis on this blog. The results of my meta posts are included in my works. Besides Yuri!!!, I have a secondary special interest in figure skating, and I do my best to integrate this into my fics accurately and correctly. Because of Yuri!!!, I've started learning Japanese.

On this blog, I post about my works, share the occasional snippet and write meta-posts when I need to get stuff out of my system. I also reblog other meta-posts, translations, fanart, and figure skating content. If this resonates with you, please consider giving me a follow.

A Viktuuri fluff without plot, oneshot!

Of crying locked in the bathroom, of defeats, of binge eating and an anxiety that ate him alive, Yuuri Katsuki was not perfect, and he believes, honestly, that everyone knows that.

And yet, there he is, Viktor Nikiforov has him, his face in his hands, his world in his hands. As if it was the cutest thing ever, and maybe for him, he is, no, Yuuri is flawless in his eyes, even with his imperfections, he knows that no one in the world is perfect, but... there was something else about the man with glasses and stupidly black hair.

Something no one else knew.

Passion and love.

No one could love Viktor Nikiforov so well, nor vice versa, they were really the only ones who could do it, the only ones who could love in such an incredible way, so pure, and so lustful at the same time, because no one else could be so passionate.

Yuuri was someone who went beyond what he always expected, Viktor always thought he was going to be alone, he found comfort in solitude, but that also held him back, and when he saw him, with an anxious burden in his chest, all he knew was that he wanted to share it.

''I gave you a thousand reasons to leave, and yet... you're still here.''

''I love you, it's really that simple.''

And his Yuuri would laugh.

''Come into my arms, solnyshko.''

He was a sun, Yuuri was really one, no, he's his sun. The one that made the mornings warmer and more appeasing, more tolerable, yes, he was right.

And yet, he was like the night sky, he was blue, that sad man, who used hunger to calm the exalted anxiety, who used to go into depressive episodes over defeats, but his passion never left no matter what, because Yuuri was made to skate, no one else could do what he did. His lover was like the stars too, maybe the moon, no, no, he was the moon, shining eternally until his time was up, that was Yuuri, his Yuuri, sometimes, that ray of moonlight, stopped shining because of his own shyness and insecurity.

It captivated him completely, because to Viktor Nikiforov, Yuuri Katsuki, he was perfect, that's right, he was a mystery, really.

Were they the same person?

Eros, and Agape, could they exist in the same person? After seeing him, at his maximum splendor, he thinks so, he was lustful, and at the same time, he was a pure being.

And Viktor loved that, honestly.

Now he had a blushing Yuuri in his arms, completely at peace, there is peace on his face and he will do nothing but beg anyone to always be like that. He's looking at him with his little eyes smiling, getting smaller, with a smitten look, crooked glasses, and clasped hands, yes, this is the man he wants to spend the rest of his life with.

He wants to worship Yuuri as a god himself, to let everyone know that they belong to each other, that there is no Viktor Nikiforov without his Yuuri Katsuki, no Yuuri without his Viktor.

Then he kisses him, and seals that promise, to love each other until all they can, until their bodies give no more and perish, because death is only a path to yet another life, another existence together and if fate doesn't want that, then they will seek each other out to challenge it.

''Liubimiy'' And it is exactly that face that is worth it, that face of happiness, of contentment and complete satisfaction with his life, that was worth having gone to Japan just for him, him and him, because Viktor would always choose him, in his most vulnerable and weakest moments, in those funny and embarrassing ones, and forever, in his good days.

Because it wasn't... surprise, Viktor had a crush on Yuuri since the banquet, (maybe since long before, but nobody knows that), where the sad life of the idol of many was going to take a turn forever, he wasn't happy with his life, skating at some point came to frustrate him, beyond the falls and failures, it was boring him, there was nothing new, and to be left without creativity and inspiration was like being dead.

Then came the great Yuuri Katsuki.

With his pole dancing, his confrontation with Yurio, his tie on his forehead, almost naked at one point, asking him to be his trainer.

That same man he heard crying in the bathrooms, or panic attacks eating him alive before or after skating, the loser boy.

And he thinks, ''What are you laughing at, Vitya?''

''You really don't remember the banquet?''

"Viktor! Don't make me think about that, how embarrassing'' he hides his face in Viktor's neck, and sighs while the silver-haired one caresses his back tenderly, drawing figures on it with his fingertips, he liked to draw little stars, hearts, everything that reminds him of Yuuri.

His Yuuri.

"You amaze me''

''Really?''

He doesn't laugh, he's never laughed at his shy little ''really?'' He knows to perfection how insecure he is, how little trust and love he has for himself, that silly, silly anxiety that only leaves him thinking about the bad, and really, all he wants to do is to love him all his life and never have doubts about his affection ever again.

''Yes, Yuuri, really.''

''That's good to know, because I'll be here with you until you get sick of me'' He says with a giggle that he loves to hear, looking at that ring on his left hand, ''I could never get sick of you.''

He looks at it with those sad, droopy eyes, but they show more joy than others.

''Me neither of you.''

Short and simple little kisses, no, complex, full of emotions to which they still don't manage to put names, but which are all positive in the end, they just call it love.

Intense looks, and thoughts that simply don't exist anymore, there is nothing in their minds but loving each other. 

Shocking foreheads, trembling sighs that mingle, and become one.

Hugs, hugs that shouldn't last so long, but do anyway.

And promises, promises sealed in the form of words already known, that they already know, but have the same meaning as the first time they said it, I love you. 

Because we call everything on the ice ''love'', or for some, (like Viktor) everything that lies on top of him, (i.e. Yuuri lying on his chest).

I could speak endlessly about the things that make Victor and Yuuri an amazing couple, but this one really stood out to me: their insecurities.

(some of this is kinda headcanon, but it’s based on what is implied in canon)

It’s evident from the beginning that Yuuri sees himself as not enough. He doesn’t think he’s good enough, attractive enough, sexy enough, or talented enough to be Victor’s student. These fears introduce his struggle with anxiety long before he enters his first Grand Prix competition. He doesn’t think he’s good enough to deserve Victor’s attention, he doesn’t think he’s talented enough to beat Yurio, he doesn’t think he can keep Victor in Hasetsu with him when the world wants him back in Russia, competing.

And although his confidence grows throughout the series, his self-doubt is still very evident in their argument in episode 11. Yuuri doesn’t think his career is worth more than Victor’s career. Yuuri doesn’t even consider the romantic value of their relationship, only comparing the success of their careers, because even with all the validation he receives from Victor, he doesn’t know just how much his love means to Victor, and he’s scared of overestimating it. Yuuri’s ongoing fear is not being enough.

Victor, on the other hand, is an enigma. Throughout the show, Yuuri’s unreliable narration makes it difficult to know exactly how Victor feels. Victor is scared of being too much. When he arrived in Hasetsu, he was expecting a very different welcome— something akin to the sensual, sexy, confident dancer he encountered at the banquet— and is instead greeted by a shy, unconfident skater, who can’t grasp why Victor would be there to coach him of all people.

Yuuri Katsuki was honestly a rather ordinary child for the most part. His family runs the last bathhouse inn remaining in his town of Hasetsu. Growing up, he showed a passion already for the ice and technique with his parents even having him take ballet classes for his talent of dance. Yet as he learned ballet, his teacher suggest he try figure skating instead as he showed a great deal of potential when he was just pretending to figure skate for his childhood friends.

Although, Yuuri was never confident in his abilities. Growing up, he always lacked the ability to believe in himself or think he was good enough for anything, yet he still wanted to try because he loved it. By the age of 12, that's when Yuuri saw Viktor win a gold medal at the grand prix finals at only the age of 16 and decided that's when he knew he wanted to truly become a professional figure skater.

He'd work hard, usually winning second or third place at local competitions until he moved his way up to be officially registered by the JSF. Though he was winning, Yuuri's ability to have confidence did affect his career from day 1.

At the age of 18, Yuuri moved to Detroit to further his skills as a figure skater where he met his roommate and later best friend, Phichi Chullanont. Even when Yuuri's English wasn't the best, they bonded quickly and became rather close friends.

Though his promising career, even if it was late in his career, came to a rock bottom. His beloved dog had passed away, his emotional over eating came into play and he placed 6th place during the Grand Prix Finals. Yuuri was rather depressed from disappointing everyone in his life that he drank heavily at the party for the finals to a point where he completely blacked out. He approached Viktor and asked him to be his coach if he won a dance contest with Yuri Plisetsky, and even pole danced nearly naked in front of Viktor!

Yet Yuuri remembers none of this, he woke up the next day with a pounding headache and no memories of what happened. Though what was strange is Viktor seemed unusually happy to see him when they walked by each other at the airport back to their homes. Yet Yuuri felt far too insecure, and was in a deep depression where he was fully ready to quit skating until he had done a performance of Viktor's routine from that season to show off to his childhood friend and first crush. Though unlucky for him that her daughters recorded it and posted it online.

The video went viral and the next thing Yuuri knows, Viktor shows up to Yuuri's home ready to move in and announcing he'd be his coach and he'll help him finally get the gold medal he believed he deserves. Yuuri couldn't possibly have believed it that his idol would come all the way here just for him when he was so...painfully boring in his own eyes.

Yet Yuuri would take the opportunity, he would have Viktor as his coach and try to work hard to get that gold model to make his idol proud. Yet at the same time, Yuuri was terrified and his anxiety was getting the better of him. He would truly be lying if he didn't get anxiety attacks from the fear of losing Viktor and disappointing everyone.

He would still try though, growing so close to Viktor that the two had fallen in love with one another. Yuuri always had a crush on Viktor, even if he denied it for years, whereas Viktor seemed to come on...strong even if unintentional flirting was Viktor's main trait. With their love, trust and mutual respect for one another - they grew a tight relationship no one could ever deny between them. Yuuri would even propose to Viktor and the two have plans to get married as soon as Yuuri wins a gold medal to match their golden engagement rings.

Yuuri Katsuki is a very sweet man but he also has a heart of glass. He gets hurt easily when someone picks at his flaws too much and does suffer from anxiety disorder which makes both socializing and remaining calm on the ice a difficult process. Yet there are glimmers of the confident skater he's slowly becoming thanks to Viktor being the push he desperately needed.

And we’re (finally) back with episode 10!! This is the one I feel will make or break the show for Snarly (my mom) — she dislikes Viktor’s advances just because he’s in a position of power as Yuuri’s coach, but I feel like the banquet reveal might change that for her. Since Yuuri actually asked and initiated the romance.

The intro really is stunning every time.

The scene with Yurio’s fans and the yelling at JJ entertained her so much.

When she saw Yuuri looking at the selfies of Viktor and Chris at the pool, she said “oh no.” I think she was worried Yuuri would be jealous or insecure??

Yandere Viktor Nikifirov:

He's a manipulative and possessive yandere.

He doesn't know what exactly pulled him towards you, maybe its the way you carry yourself or the way you don't care about what others think of you. Whatever the reason may be, you have caught his eye.

Once he enters into your life, say goodbye to any and all personal space. Even before you guys are dating, he's always touching you. An arm around your waist, hands holding yours, soft pecks to your cheeks, etc. You don't think anything of it, not noticing how he doesn't even let anyone else come close to you.

Viktor's extremely observant. He'll be quick to find your weaknesses and insecurities. Every little detail is going to help him control you.

He can pretty much read your thoughts. Viktor will use that against you. He’ll be quick to figure out all of your likes, dislikes, interests, fears, traumas, everything. He knows you better than you know yourself.

He's a master manipulator. It doesn't matter if you don't like him or want to go out with him, because he will manipulate you into dating him. He would make you think like this was your idea, like you are the one who is all over him, obsessed with him and that you should be grateful that he's even giving you the time of the day. Don’t be surprised when you develop an inferiority complex.

I don’t blame anyone falling for him. He’s very charming and charismatic, and his kind, yet calculating eyes give no sign of a sinister, ulterior motive. He's Russia's pride, the golden boy. No one could ever suspect him of harbouring malicious intentions.

Viktor’s very self aware. He knows his limits, his abilities, what and how he can achieve the desired results. So, he knows exactly what to do to get you to do stuff for him. He knows how to play with your feelings, how to touch you, how to make you willing. 

He has very specific requirements for what he looks in a darling. And it doesn’t matter that you’re the exact opposite of his dream s/o, he’ll make you change. He’ll train you, tailor you to his tastes. The worst part is that you won’t even realise what he’s doing until its too late. 

Being so successful from a young age, he is quite rich. So he's always buying you these expensive gifts and you're not allowed to refuse them. He justs wants his baby to be spoiled. Honestly, they're just another tactic to keep you bound to him. You're not going to be ungrateful, right?

He’ll control every part of your life, no matter how insignificant. What clothes to wear, how to style your hair, what to eat, what colour should be your favourite, etc. Soon you won’t even be able to make a single a decision for yourself without your mind wandering to Viktor’s approval.

He likes making decisions for you. He wants to control every aspect of your life. And if you ever try to disagree with him, he'll be quick to gaslight you. His usually kind eyes will turn cold and uncaring in an instant and he'll crowd you as he asks you why you don't love him? Do you not trust your loyal, generous, fucking perfect boyfriend?

Viktor wants you to be present at all his games and practices. Whatever your engagements are, they are to be pushed back. That’s how it is. His needs before yours. Him before you.

He’s quite possessive of you. Viktor will make sure that you as well as everyone else know who you belong to. He hates it when you mention other people, no matter the gender. He wants to be the only one in your heart, mind and life. So he will definitely try to isolate you, going as far as to lock you inside his home with no way of contacting the outside world.

He likes showing you off. His perfect, little pet. And the way he keeps his arms around your waist, fools everyone into thinking that he’s in love with you. They always miss how scared you look, how you don’t let your eyes wander around anywhere but him, let alone leave his side, not even for a second. They don’t see how fake his smile is, or how he wants to slit everyone's throats who talks to you.

In front of public eyes or the paparazzi, he has taught you how to act. Wear his clothes, cheer him on, kiss him passionately, then bury your face in his chest. And then he will move his arms around you, letting his coat hide your cute face as he laughs charmingly at the shy, little thing you are.

Look, he's a narcissist yandere who's unhealthily possessive of you and wants you to be completely dependent on him for anything and everything, and will then also rub his forced affection in your face, telling you how you lucky you are to have someone as perfect as him in your life.

While his psychological punishments are enough to keep you in line, sometimes he does require the use of physical force. With all the years of skating, he knows exactly which muscle to pull or position your legs at angle that causes excruciating pain. Sometimes your ankle will only be sprained, but he’s not above breaking it either. He needs to tame his little kitten sometimes, you know?

In his own messed up way, he kind of does love you. He'll have his soft moments with you, moments where you forget about his bad side. He'll kiss you softly, hold you in his lap as he runs his hands through your hair. And when you're asleep, he'll become vulnerable and he'll mumble the loving words that you crave.

Will definitely make you skate with him. There's just something about seeing you in that tiny, pastel pink figure skating skirt, that just barely hides the curves of your cute butt. Doesn’t matter if you don't know how to skate, he'll be more than happy to teach you. Hands on your hips to steady you, he'll push himself against you, his large form completely engulfing you,and he coos in your ear about how well you're doing. He knows you thrive on his praise. 

“You’re doing so good, princess. So good for me. Maybe I should reward you tonight, hmm?”

14. What do you think is Snape's favourite potion to prepare?

This is hard to say since he doesn't seem to use potions in his spy work (a secret that would give him an edge and therefore be amusing to prepare) nor do we know what parts of making a potion might appeal to him (the solitude? the precision? the satisfaction of his own mastery in a particularity tricky field?)

So it would likely be a potion that the making of had good memories for him, and since his only really good memories involve a certain someone it would likely be something that he and Lily worked on together in class.

Maybe Felix Felicis?

19. According to you, what is Snape's biggest flaw?

His insecurity — it's not his fault that he is insecure with himself ofc life was kind of like f*ck this one kid in particular — but with a little more confidence I'm sure he would been able to strike out his own and be a healer/dark arts specialist or the first wizard scientist rather than a Death Eater.

Clearly after a certain point he never saw himself as anything more than the servant of great wizards (be it Voldemort or Dumbledore), but obviously he could have been more.

20. Why do you love Snape so much?

The gothic romance of it all! Actually he was my favorite character since I was 9 when only the first three books came out so actually it's hard to remember the initial reason. I think it was the potions riddle at the end of Philospher's Stone that clinched it for me.

25. Is there any other character you love as much as Snape? Do you think they'll get along?

I love Mads Mikkelsen's Hannibal but my god I hope they would not get along! The things he can do with vulnerable minds, imagine if they met when Snape was a young man

The other characters I really love are ones like Tamaki Suoh and Viktor Nikiforov, world class champions in happiness, charm and affability — aka the polar opposites of Severus Snape.

So maybe they would get along in hilarious odd couple fashion?

The second chapter of my Yuri!!! on Ice post-canon, married Viktuuri story is up, and like some of my other works in my "Gold's On The Inside, Elevated My Feet" fic-verse, this story is an excuse to explore Viktor's insecurities, as well as his complicated relationship with Yakov.

In my fic-verse, Yakov is not only Viktor's former coach, but also a de-facto father figure, given that Viktor cuts his own parents off at the age of 16. In my story (which you can still understand/enjoy if you haven't read the other parts of the series), the two are currently in the middle of a conflict that arises unexpectedly after Yuuri and Viktor do an interview, which Yakov watches and has a negative reaction to.

In addition to Yakov giving Viktor the silent treatment after the interview airs, he makes Lilia explain to the couple why he is so upset, instead of communicating his feelings himself. This leads to Viktor being very hurt, which is hard for Yuuri to have to see.

When Viktor surprises Yuuri one day with a sexy 'Little Red Riding Vitya' roleplay scenario, Yuuri is thrilled to be able to use the situation as a springboard to be able to cheer Viktor up, and creates a romantic, spin-off "Little Red Skating Vitya" fairytale with the help of Mila and Phichit.

I had so much fun coming up with the fairytale particulars, which Yuuri reveals to Viktor in the second chapter. I hope you'll consider checking out the story! Below is a Chapter 2 excerpt to pique your interest.

“Once upon a time, in a mysterious and far-away ice-forest land called Fukuoka, there lived two best friends and accomplished pairs skaters, one by the name of Little Red Skating Vitya, and the other by the name of Yusha the Ōkami. Yusha’s name was pretty self-explanatory, but no one in the village of Fukuoka knew where Vitya’s “Little” descriptor came from, because they were certainly not little.”

His spouse immediately gasped.

“Scandalous, my Yuuri!” he cried, sounding gleeful. “You know that I happen to think that dicks of any size are equally valid, but still…thank you, honey! I can’t believe you had that put in print!”

Yuuri blinked, not really sure what Viktor meant by that, until he mouthed the words of that last sentence, suddenly feeling horrified. 

“Oh my goddddd,” he groaned, actually able to feel the heat emanating from his face. 

“I didn’t even realize how that sounded!” he went on, feeling slightly defensive. “I was just trying to convey that our relationship is age appropriate, and that we’re both consenting adults! That sentence has nothing to do with dick size.” 

“Oh, my GOD,” Yuuri continued, even more emphatically, realizing that the Sohmas – a family he’d known since he was just a ten-year-old – had seen him submit that request in writing! “I’m gonna need to make a call at some point to explain.”

Viktor began to snicker, and Yuuri just elected to turn the page and keep reading, hoping the flush sweeping his face would subside quickly.

Recognising the familiar voice, Yuuri looked up. “Nishigori!”

“Showering.” Yuuri braced himself against the wall and stretched his calves. There was no way he could keep the growl fully from his voice, even as it came subdued. “And he’s not my boyfriend.”

“I forgot,” Nishigori said. “You’re just friends.”

“No!” Yuuri said, cheeks heating. “It’s not like that. It’s just… we’re not dating or something!”

One month had passed since Yuuri had told Viktor about the pertinacious girl in Detroit. Never before had he told someone about the incident. There were still many things he kept to himself, but around Viktor, he felt comfortable opening up. Not even with Minako, Yuuko, or Phichit Yuuri had felt so at ease. He had to find out what it meant.

“Huh? So, you haven’t yet confessed, Yuuri?” He nudged Yuuri with his elbow. “Right?”

“No,” Yuuri said, wincing at the defensive pitch in his voice. He was still wrestling with the fact that this man was willing to put up with all his weirdness and insecurities.

“And this from the man who urged me to confess!”

“That was different!” Yuuri protested.

Nishigori laughed. “But you two seem inseparable. What are you waiting for, Yuuri? Go and get him!”

“We hang out.” His entire face was glowing now. Could he explain it away by doing exercise so shortly after running all the way here? “I don’t know what will become of this, but it’s nice spending time together.”

“Yuuri, the inexperienced bachelor.” Nishigori was still laughing, but there was an undercurrent fondness in his voice that thwarted every attempt to be angry. “Need some help with stretching?”

His face still hot, Yuuri looked up. “Only if you can spare a minute.”

Nishigori walked into the room. “For the man who carries Japan’s hopes on his shoulders, I always have a minute to spare.”
