Inktober 2023 — Day 20 — Frost

I know there are a lot of characters that are more directly related to the prompt (Jack Frost, Elsa, and Frozone to name a few) but those felt a little too obvious to me, and some characters felt over done. Also, I am stubborn and just really wanted to do Danny Phantom for this one because of his ice powers.

I had a lot of ideas for this one, but most of them were either really tricky to pull off or too complicated for me to do. I thought about him flying around and making a large ice sculpture, but then I remembered the prompt was frost not ice. So I thought I’d pull back a bit and make the ice more of an accented thing than the main focal point.

My friend had suggested I really lean into the frost aspect and I thought about making him more like Frostbite, so I gave him a similar cape and an ice crown. Originally I was going to give him horns and make him a lot more like Frostbite, but I just couldn’t figure out how to make Danny into a Yeti ghost creature. Also I love a Ghost king Danny idea. I also tried to make the cape look like Clockwork’s cape, sort of mixing inspirations.

Maybe in the future I can do more Danny Phantom. I love the show, the character, and the fandom as well. It’s definitely one that’s held up over time.

Day 20: Frost -Frost Cut was taking his beloved wives over to finally meet his parents. This was going to be a fun evening explaining how he got centaurs.. Let alone two of them.
