Seeing the GIF of Mitsuki and Bakugou made me think about something Bakugou stans LOVE doing: using supposed abuse by her as a get out of jail free card for his behavior (cough cough, that one fic). It's especially disgusting to me as a child abuse survivor who has NEVER used that as a reason/excuse to bully people.

And then these same people think it's oh so hilarious whenever Bakugou assaults Izuku and is a general asshat to those around him. So it's funny whenever Bakugou's a horrid bully to others, but they lose their minds when he gets a smack upside the head by his clearly fed up mother?

Obviously, she shouldn't be smacking Bakugou upside the head, but she is 100% right that his teachers need to give him an ego check and stop coddling him.

PS - isn't it interesting how neither Aizawa or All Might (love him) don't react to that statement, probably because on some level, they KNOW they're coddling him as well?

I'm sure I've said this somewhere, but I've never seen Mitsuki as physically abusive.

A tap on the back of the head isn't abuse to me. The first one was more playful than anything. The second one was in response to him literally threatening her ("You hag! Hit me again and you're dead!"). Choosing to call Mitsuki's actions abuse and then ignoring Bakugou's is just plain bias. Neither All Night nor Aizawa are concerned and Bakugou himself isn't hurt in the slightest.

Now, I think she could be verbally abusive. There are some things she's said to Bakugou that she probably shouldn't have. But I think it's way more she just doesn't coddle him that his stans have such an issue with her.

You're totally right that they laugh when Bakugou attacks Izuku, but suddenly they scream abuse when he's on the receiving end. And let's be real, Bakugou has done 100x worse to Izuku than Mitsuki's done to him.

She also supported him unwaveringly. She appreciated Aizawa sticking up for him at the press conference because she believes wholeheartedly that her son is hero material. She humbly asked his teachers to help his dream come true. Abusive parents don't do that.

I've noticed that the fandom just has a hate boner for the moms in general. Inko? Oh, she's neglectful and a bad mom because she wanted to pull Izuku out of UA (I will never shut up about this because SHE WAS RIGHT UA was being irresponsible at every turn). Mitsuki? Abusive because she tapped Bakugou on the back of the head in one scene. Nana? Oh it's her fault Kentaro ended up abusive and that Tomura turned into a villain.

And let's not even talk about how this fandom treats Rei. If I start I won't stop

Inko midoriya is a bad mum

Yeah you heard it right inko is a bad mother. Look Iam not saying that inko is abusive but Iam saying that she isn't a good mother. YOU CAN CARE FOR YOUR CHILD AND LOVE THEM BUT STILL BE A BAD PARENT.

Somehow doesn't realise the severe bullying izuku went through and him being beat up since the age of 4. Iam so very concerned and confused on how inko never noticed that izuku was getting beat up when coming back home from the park or school it literally makes no sense to me like?!?! It's not like she even works she is a literal stay at home mum so how did she not notice for a good 10+years of izukus life?

Didn't really do anything about protecting her son until he got a quirk. The only time we actually see inko advocating for her son is AFTER He got his quirk. Look I think quirkless discrimination could of been a thing but seriously this series doesn't treat it like it is like this stuff only happened to izuku and I don't get why she never went to aldera and complained or why she didn't re-enroll her son into another school. How am I supposed to believe that she is somehow a helicopter parent when stuff like this happens and the fact that the plot doesn't allow her to take izuku out of ua and instead somewhat demonised her for that is sad.

She is very emotionally dependent on izuku. No offence but this is the truth. Every single time we see them together there will be a panel or a whole page even dedicated to inko crying to izuku and him having to comfort and honestly as a parent YOU SHOULD BE COMFORTING YOUR CHILD NOT THE OTHER WAY ROUND. This also reflects a lot on Izuku's behaviour, throughout the series izuku is actually very emotionally intelligent when it comes to people take the whole Katsuki Vs izuku 2 or take the sports festival and todoroki this could all be a result for him having to take care of his mother emotionally and having to grow up quickly when it comes to emotions. stuff like this explains why he is so emotionally mature and also emotionally intelligent.

Her reaction to him being quirkless and completely breaking down on him. Izuku's is 4 he has very limited knowledge of the world and the stuff around him. Izuku being diagnosed quirkless isn't necessarily something he can fully understand so the only thing he understands is that 1) this diagnosis makes his mother sad and 2) he can't be a hero and do what other kids/the majority of the population can do. Her reaction doesn't help Izuku at all and izuku even goes on to acknowledge such a thing and talk about how he wanted his mother to comfort him instead of cry and profusely apologise. @delawaredetroit talked about the meaning of this panel and how the chair acts as a barrier between the two which I really like and think explains their relationship perfectly

Her "concern" on the quirk Izuku got. Look your child that has been quirkless for 10 years of his life magically gets a quirk and explains it to you in some gibberish about modern science but then you find out that the quirk is completely different from yours and your husband's genetics and it physically hurts your child to use it. (He hurt himself to the point he had to get surgery?!?!) Instead of questioning the origins of this quirk and asking your son to explain himself or worry about your son hurting himself you JUST COMPLAIN?!?! Complain to the universe about why he got such a dangerous quirk out of nowhere like?!?! Also is it just me BUT THE WHOLE SEVEN TIMES FAINTING IS GETTING TO ME LIKE?!?! Iam confused aren't you supposed to be there for your child why is he supporting you emotionally and mentally on stuff he shouldn't have to worry about

Izuku's reaction and mentality whenever his mum is brought up. From the few times izuku has thought of his mum in the series you can clearly tell how their relationship really is. Their relationship is literally I can't make my mum sad and I have to be there for her instead of it being the other way round. Like seriously why is izuku waking up from a two day coma and the FIRST THING HE THINKS OF WHEN HE SEES his mother's handwriting is her crying for him to wake up and not to hurt his mum by him getting hurt. This is very concerning?!?! It doesn't help that the two times he actually wakes up from the coma he is the one that has to be there for him mum like he had to comfort her when she found out that villains were after him (understandable) but she should of been there for her child she should of advocated for him or tried to comfort or even reassure him in anyway like seriously?!?!

The lack of communication between the two. In my opinion these two truly lack communication because why is she bringing the fact that she is going to take him out of UA at that point Infront of all might when she could of had a proper discussion with her son at any point before all might came?!?! It seriously makes no sense and don't get me started on the way she was talking about it like I know she had a point and she was right but the way she brought it up and the way she talked about it were horrible. These two don't necessarily communicate about anything that is solely about izuku himself. Majority of their conversations are about things like heros, inko and her health and some other stuff but none are about the child and solely the child which I find very worrying to be honest. also don't get me started on how izuku never felt responsible or felt like he could trust his OWN MOTHER ENOUGH TO TELL HER About thr bullying or OFA ( still mad that bakugo found out before inko)

Her allowing her child to go vigilante and not actually sticking up for him during the whole don't let him into UA thing. Idk about you but I genuinely don't understand why a parent who claims to be very overprotrctive of their child allows them to go and become a vigilante and run around while they haven't even fully healed. Also this went on for a month?!?!!! Like we she seriously never went to UA and was like?!?! What about my son is it safe for him or she never set her foot down and was like no izuku you're a child you don't need to fight you shouldn't fight the adults should keep you safe or something along the lines. No we got nothing of the sort all we got was her crying and agreeing to it which is honestly frustrating. Also HOW AND WHY THE HELL WAS SHE NOT ANGRY?!?? LIKE WHY WAS SHE NOT ANGRY AT YAGI?! WHY WAS SHE NOT ANGRY WITH UA ?!? OR AT ANYONE INVOLVED. Are we also forgetting that izuku was also used as a child soldier in the first war without his consent and idk if the parents knew but why was inko not rightfully angry about what happend it makes no sense to me. Oh and don't get me started on the chapter when all the people were like get this kid out like was inko not standing up for her son why didn't she comfort him with Kota when he broke down sobbing like why?!?! How am I supposed to believe that she is a good mother and not neglectful at all when I get THIS

Her lack of reaction when izuku is on the news for the sludge villain. So almost everyone knows about the sludge villain incident it was literally boardcasted on the news and you're telling me we never got a scene of izuku and inko talking about it, of inko comforting izuku or just inko knowing in general. Like your son was on the news and decided to run into a villain fight and you don't reprimand him or demand to find out why he did it. Like why is it that kirishima and other strangers have more of reaction to the sludge villain incident instead of the main characters mother and I bet izuku didn't even tell his mum that he met all might or that he was attacked by the sludge villain before Katsuki so yeah

Simply allowing her child to do whatever after waking up from a coma (THIS LEGIT HAPPENS TWICE?!?!) Are you telling me that inko really let her child who woke up from a coma not even long ago just go out because UA required him to or something like she just let izuku do whatever he wants and didn't even come and seem him after he woke up or didn't even come and collect him after he was literally discharged from the hospital!?!? Also I have touched on the 2nd coma thing but the training camp parc inko kinda drives me insane because how do you simply allow this to happen?

PS this is just stuff from the manga because if you want me to go on about how inko was absent WHEN IZUKU LEGIT GOT ACCUSED OF BEING A MASS MURDER AND DID NOTHING ???! that's not really something imma go into deep depth but wanted to mention (THERE ARE A LOT MORE INSTANCES I DIDNT MENTION)

Look I get it inko is a flawed parent but the narrative doesn't acknowledge that and no one else does. Like I said if horikoshi actually wanted to redeem an abusive parent then he had inko and kotaro idk why the hell he chose someone like enji to fulfill that role because let's be honest enji sucks and so does his redemption. (Neglect is a form of abuse!!!)

Also it's sad inko never gets to be more than the overly emotionally dependent parent to the MC and that's it. Like she has no friends no job no family except of izuku no nothing she is all alone and usually forgotten about in the narrative sometimes I think that a dead parent could of been more useful than her which is sad.

Iam all for inko actually being somewhat of a bad mother who works a lot but loves her child and is now trying to improve and be there but that never happens and izuku deserves so much better cos how come the villain Tenko has a better family and mother than the hero

There is so many things to talk about the leaks, about how bad it is and I'm sure people draw their own conclusions aka it sucks that Izu needs to be in extreme pain for a pointless and insane mission.

But I want to talk about something different.

Many fans do make posts stating how Mitsuki Bakugou is abusive and use the "bump on his head" as final proof for such classification. "She needs therapy" and like...Hori has given a wonderful childhood to BK.

Mitsuki is a good mother just by the little we saw. The bump is a joke, nothing more. Yes. I dont like it but its a far cry from "ABUSE"

She worries for her sociopath son, she wants him to be safe and trusts UA will do that. There a question we must ask:

Did BK cover his tracks so his mom never found out or Aldera cover for him?

Bc BK is loud about his opinions. Extremely so. Tried to kill Izu more than once...and has the parents even heard of that from UA?

I dont believe Aizawa would steal "intership offers" from Izu to Bk. As I mentioned to @doodlegirl1998 but now I think he did hide his murder attempts. Only the best for the future.

Now if you want to harpy "bad mom" I have the solution for you. INKO MIDORIYA canonically is a bad mom. Not in the fanon version some fics use to prop AM or Dadzawa...she is emotional neglectful.

The scene of Izu being happy someone called for him, in the case a girl. Its supposed to be funny but it reads to me how sad it is...did his mom ever tried to reach to him? Did she stayed home crying day in and out?

Inko is a bad mom bc she doesnt do anything for her son nor is curious as why her QUIRKLESS son has such quirk. When Izu is in hospital...Inko left a note sort (unintentionally) guilt tripping Izu. Yes, Izu. You are in pain...but what about your mother?!

Inko is a bad mom...and Hori makes so. Hori even ignores she exists.

But we do see Mitsuki worrying for her son.

Inko? Does nothing. Her son may die and she cant do much

Ok. Fair question. But a mother wouldn't sit down and watch her ONLY son die! Inko will. Izu will be quirkless, disabled and possible with a Baby Tenko in his arm.

No one talked or wants to talk about it is how Tenko had more good stuff than Izu. I'm talking about his two faceless friends when Tenchan was a cute baby. No they aren't important and granted Hori can't bakugoufied them any minute

My point is so far

Compared to Izuku's childhood...Tenko was better. He had a lovely corgi,his big sis loved him and he had friends.

"but Kotaro" yes Hori is a coward to go to the laziest option but even so...Tenko the soon to be Le villain had a better childhood than the mc (not forgetting his pain here but it's not as if he was abused 24/7. Hori went to a coward route but we only see one bad day on Kotaro. To be clear not excuse the abuse just saying Tenko had people on his side even if it wasn't perfect)

Now compared to Izuku's past and ....wow.

Izu doesn't have good friends

Never had a fluffy corgi (bk would have killed I know he would)

His mom is just existing.

And he is stuck with his abuser (in the begin Izu didn't had a good view on bk which hori couldn't let stand)

It's just...Izu had a sad backstory but no one gives a shit. Is it sadder than shig? The point it's not this... The point is how the mc has a bad childhood and his villain had a decent one (again I KNOW IT WASNT PERFECT)

You do have a good point here, while Tenko had an abusive father in Kotaro (which Hori went super lazy with making him abusive and failed to expand on his abuse), in his childhood he's shown to have more good things in his life than Izuku has had.

Tenko had in his backstory prior to the accident:

A good pet in Mon-chan

A big sister who loved him (although I am mixed on Hana, her lying to save herself from Kotaro as another part of her main appearance doesn't do her any favours. Although that sits more on Kotaro making his daughter that afraid of him.)

A mum and Grandparents who loved him** (although they too are not without fault, they should have acted sooner to stand up to Kotaro but no one can deny they loved Tenko.)

And his two faceless nameless friends who seemed nice from what little we are told.

Whereas Izu in his backstory;

Has never had any pet to our knowledge.

Has no cool big brother or sister.

His Dad is MIA ( apparently abroad working but he's never shown to call Izuku or come home.)

He has no sweet loving grandparents from his mum or dads side.

His Mum* doesn't stand up for him and cries on him about his being born quirkless.

Izuku is never shown to have any friend prior to U.A.

Izuku is chronically bullied (abused) from the ages of 4 - 14 by Bakugou and his cronies. (I'd argue this is actually still ongoing in UA the tone in the narrative has just shifted to be more in Bkg's favour now than Izu's.) And Izuku is still STUCK with Bakugou as a member of the 'wonder duo'... (that whole concept can fuck right off.)

So Shig, other than Kotaro being an abusive POS, actually had more nice things in his backstory than Izu did whereas Izu's backstory (prior to meeting All Might) is just PAIN.

*- it could be argued that Inko is a good thing in Izuku's backstory and while I'm not denying she loves him I'm saying that in their relationship is not all that great... He has to comfort her a lot of the time she's on screen and Hori never shows Inko confronting Aldera or the Bakugou's about her son's bullying. So she's failing as a parent there.

** - While Nao and her parents are actually shown standing up to Kotaro which is leaps and bounds ahead of anything Inko is shown to do for Izu (sorry it's true.)

AU where Hisashi calls Izuku regularly while he works overseas and one day Hisashi tells Izuku about his new boyfriend who is very sweet to him and unfortunately got into a bad accident many years ago that left him disabled so Hisashi helps care for him.Izuku later finds out this boyfriend is AFO.

why would you leave inko for afo. 'hold on yeah i think i'll leave this priceless bahia emerald and skip town and then i found a broken piece of chalk instead.' my guy. you deserve all might stealing your son.

1- ok so. Hisashi is an accountant who moves to new york to make more money. He and inko officially divorce, which means Izuku takes the Midoriya name and Inko has sole custody, but while Hisashi does not have to pay child support or alimony, he does opt to send them some support and tries to stay in contact because i guess his taste in men was so bad that he and inko just work better as friends. good for them ig.

2- actually Hisashi is just straight up color-blind: he can't see any red flags. Its not just his personal tastes. this man has worked for four separate blatant money laundering schemes since he went abroad. he has no clue. this is how he ends up coming into contact with AfO, but AfO's job offering is too indirect and vague, and Hisashi is like 'are you... flirting with me?' instead, but AfO can work with that. And while Hisashi certainly isn't a genius with people or warning signs, i will give him (and inko) this: he's a great lay.

3- He's also a very caring boyfriend, which was part of the problem with inko, they ended up really inciting each other's anxieties, but AfO likes being pampered so he decides to keep Hisashi around even if he isn't a employee. even better really, that he doesn't have to pay, bribe, quirkify, dequirkify, or threaten him. Hisashi, as a bit of a doting boyfriend, also has a lot to say about the man to others, so Izuku ends up hearing a lot of gushing over the phone as he's training with weights and is a bit too out of breath to change the topic. plus, he doesn't want to bring up going to UA until its a sure thing, his dad will definitely freak out about it not being safe. finally he tells his dad he got in, and hisashi is like 'oh yeah, cuz they changed the rules, which track?' and izuku goes 'oh uh hero track and alsoihaveaquirknowitscalledsuperpower oh look at that moms calling me for dinner sorry bye.'

4. Dazed, Hisashi gushes about his son to his boyfriend later, dropping that izuku's going to become a hero at ua, what a surprise- but, well, he supposes his son has always loved to watch heroes...

AfO is like 'hm. being a hero isn't very safe...' ('i know...') 'why don't you try to push him to visit you? keep him safe. maybe in a safe. don't you just wanna keep a hold of him?' ("i do, but that'll only drive him away. he's growing up... besides, if i was busy only keeping watch over him, who'd take care of you?") 'mm, good point. keep prioritizing me, i will neither put a hit on the kid as competition nor do anything to keep him safer.'

5. Reveal... uh yeah so Hisashi does mention to Izuku when his boyfriend goes missing, sometimes he gets called to work suddenly but he's never been gone this long, he's worried, is he restocking his meds, where is he? oh yeah, he vanished around Kamino. unfortunate, but not incriminating on its own. What IS incriminating is rewound!AfO, looking at Izuku with a tilted head. "I can see bits of Hisashi in you, hm. Just the worst bits, luckily." Izuku starts realizing what this means. Bakugo distracts him and blasts him to the Shigaraki fight, because he also started to realize what it meant and simply did not want to deal with hearing anymore of that. Over at the ShigarAfO fight, AfO tries to keep throwing Izuku (and tomura) off their game by wondering if Hisashi will find this new, younger body nice as well- probably, its not like the man had the highest standards. Izuku and Tomura are united in such abosolute done-ness with AfO that he's immediately snuffed out of Tomura's head and nothing remains behind. Tomura is like 'uh, do you want a day's break and then a rematch because i need to bleach my brain' but izuku is like 'oh no i need to punch someone through a mountain rn, lets keep going while i reform you with the power of friendship and incredible violence.' (By unspoken agreement, neither Izuku, Bakugo, or Tomura ever breathe a word about it to anyone, much less to Hisashi.)

Fluff Alphabet ~ Izuku Midoriya

Author's Note: Since my other account @cheekyredwillow got deleted. I am adding some of my favorite fanfictions to this account and revamping this one with new ones. I hope to make an actual list of fandoms I am still a fan of! NO requests for the time being.

On to the alphabet!

A: Alluring (What attracts the other?)

He adores your kind nature. No matter how many times he breaks his body, you are there to help him.

You adore his "can do" attitude. You like that he is willing to go to the ends of the Earth to be the best. 

B: Baby (ideas on family)

He's scared. What if his child ends up quirkless? But the little voice inside his head wants to see mini mes of him and you. Maybe like two would be enough. 

C: Cuddles (How do you hold each other?)

Most of the time you two are cuddled into each other's chest. Soft snores and holding each other tight. But there are days where Izuku feels like he's alone in his battles and asks to be the little spoon. Usually he apologizes till you hush his worries. 

D: Dates (What are the best dates?)

The best date was going to see his mother. Inko cooked for you two and did the embarrassing baby photos. After the embarrassment, you two relaxed in his room for hours. Just seeing his mother happy about you made it the best. 

E: Endearing (Actions that mean a lot)

He appreciates when you stand up to Bakugou's taunts. You don't do it often but if you notice that the taunts are getting worse then you will step in.

You appreciate his pillow talk. Here me out. Every time you go to bed, Izuku is there talking about how he'll protect you and how he can't live without you. When he realizes you are asleep, you'll feel a kiss on the tip of your nose. 

F: Falling in Love (When they realized they love you?)

So it might have been during the Sports Festival. You actually ended up against a class 1-B student and won before going against Kaminari. Izuku was taking so many notes on you but he noticed he would mention your figure or your smile, not your quirk. He knew he was a goner. 

G: Giggle (What is their laugh like?)

Bright and cheerful. You love when Izuku is laughing because it seems like the day couldn't get any better. 

H: Hands (Where are their hands? Yours?)

Both of your hands are intertwined. Uraraka and Iida would definitely comment on this but you two always make the excuse to not loose each other. Iida still complains but you bet your money that Uraraka is gushing. 

I: Insecurities (What are the insecurities each have in the relationship?)

That he's not strong enough. Izuku feels that sometimes you deserve someone like Kirishima or even Bakugou. It hurts to see you pair so well with them. But you always erase those worries. 

You worry that you are holding him back. Izuku wants to be #1 and you feel like you are holding him from that. But if you ever try to distance yourself, Izuku will clobber you into a hug and apologize until you tell him your worries. 

J: Jealousy (Do they get jealous? How do they act?)

Not jealous but insecure. Like mentioned before, when Izuku sees you laughing with Kirishima he wonders if you should be with him. He trusts his classmates, well majority of them, but he just doesn't see why you like him. He usually doesn't mutter for a while and kinda becomes a shell of himself. 

K: Kisses (what are they like?)

Soft and shy. You always get a kiss before class, after school, and when you two walk home. Always. Tradition for you two. But it feels almost like a feather as he kisses you. 

L: Luscious (What is their favorite outfit on you?)

Definitely your hero uniform. He thinks you look beautiful in your uniform and also speaks looks. He also is a big praiser on it too. 

M: Mornings (what are mornings like?)

When you two live together, he gets up extremely early to train. So while he trains, it gives you enough time to get ready and fix breakfast for you two. 

N: Nightmares (how do you comfort them?)

Usually his nightmares have to do with you being taken by LOV. You know when he gets his mightmares because he whimpers. As long as you hug him tight he'll wake up and hold you close to him. 

O: Overtook (First impression)

You were a new student to class 1-A. Immediately Uraraka and Tsu took a liking to you but Izuku was too shy to talk to you. I mean what would a beautiful girl have to do with him?

P: Periods (How are they on your period? What do they do to help?)

Kinda odd at first but he talks to his mother. Then from there on, he is your servant. Always running to get things. Hold you when necessary. And of course love when you want extra loving. 

Q: Queen (Nicknames for each other)

His: either babygirl or sweets

You: Zuku, Deku, or babe

R: Raw (How to describe your love?)

Rebuilding. This is not in a bad way but your love always finds something new. Whether it is rebuilding each other's confidence or just finding new gifts, it's always different. 

S: Song (what is your song

Falling Slowly. It's a sweet song about falling in love slowly over time. And it seems like your love just always falls deeper over time.

T: Thought (favorite memory)

The day you two went swimming at a splash park with Uraraka, Iida, Tsu, and Todoroki. It showed how carefree you were and left a big smile on each other's face. 

U: Understanding? (How understanding are they?)

Very. It helps when both of you understand each other's pain. You know when each other is in pain or needs each other. 

V: Vanilla (Scent that they associate with you?)

Eucalyptus mint. Very relaxing and calming scent. Izuku always needs someone there to help him and this scent always makes him think of you. 

W: World (What do you do that makes them feel complete?)

You make him feel not alone in his struggles. Living up to All Might's expectations is hard and no one understands that. But you try. And that's enough for him. 

X: X.O.X.O (What is the number one text sent?)

Good morning Y/n! I love you. Be safe! 

Y: You (What are you to him?)

His anchor. You keep him grounded when life gets too hard and keep him human. He isn't invincible and he needs someone to tell him that.

He especially doesn’t fit as vulnerable, insecure Yurika-chan, who got captured by a villain in the first few chapters, failed her first Hero Class exercise and cried, lost at the Sports Festival and cried again, got kidnapped by villains in front of her whole class, didn’t get her provisional license, then got into a fight after-hours and cried some more…

“Holy shit,” breathes Ochako, “Bakugo’s the heroine.”

The freckled man hums and sinks lower, his eyes roving to the corner of the room like two huge green marbles rolling into the sides of a glass bowl and sticking there. He earns a sharp bang from the fist of his blonde companion hitting the counter like a gavel.

The dishes rattle with a startled clink, but the drunk man moping over them doesn’t even notice.

“What?!”

Across the counter, you choke on your own drink. The blonde does the same on his water - the only difference in poise is how quickly he smacks his freckled companion on the side of the head before he can finish his sentence.

A hero reaches out to touch the hearts of the people through their actions. Sometimes, they do it through heartbreak.

Bakugo and Midoriya as seen through your eyes - the eyes of a local firefighter - in an izakaya a few miles and hours away from tragedy.

Years after Katsuki left Izuku in the dust as a kid he's reminded of the gesture of affection that had his palms sweating and heart pounding when Izuku used to do it for him when they'd get scuffed up on the playground: kissing his band aids after patching him up.

Fast forward to the present and the dumb nerd is just going around offering up kisses to any old extra in their class except Katsuki and it's driving him insane. Despite him pushing these feelings within himself as deep as possible, it stings deeper than he could've ever imagined.

I request 5 headcanons for the Grandma Nana and Dad for One AU, if Inko found out that her husband is All for One. This scenario has haunted my dreams!

Oh! I've had this in mind for a while (and should actually write it sometime)

It happens when AFO and AM finally have an epic battle when Izuku is 9. AM is injured and AFO is defeated, but neither is as hurt as in canon. This means AM is awake and walking around in a few days (but not fit for Hero work).

Unfortunately the fight was televised and mask or no mask, Inko recognized her husband's voice. Mitsuki called to ask if Inko was ok and barely restrained herself from giving Inko the mother of all I-told-you-sos. The moment Inko hangs up, Mitsuki screams "I KNEW HE WAS TERRIBLE!" Inko heard.

Meanwhile at the hospital, Nana and Gran are visiting Toshi. Both try to put off talking to Inko, but then both get the text from Inko that she's already at the hospital and coming up. They ask Toshi to speak with her since he's the most charismatic and she's not mad at him. They promise they'll be behind him.

Cue a very angry Inko stepping off the elevator, her glare tempting Toshi to dive out a window. He looks back, where Nana and Gran smile and give him their thumb's up. This would be reassuring if they weren't thirty feet back and peeking out from behind two different corners.

AM barely survives Inko's epic scolding, and is now more scared of her than he ever was of Gran. He then visits AFO. This happens:

AFO: What is it Yagi? Here to gloat that you're alive while I'm trapped here unable to even move? AM: You still have some rights AFO. They're more than you deserve. AFO: Like what? AM: Well, most of the things you're not allowed to do are because of the threat you pose. But some rights don't threaten society, so even I wouldn't deprive you of them. Like say...spousal privilege? AFO: *pales* You...you can't do that... AM: *smiling* Don't worry, I've taken precautions so the authorities won't listen in. They won't even know she's your wife. AFO: This qualifies as torture! You can't do this to me! Even you must have limits! AM: Indeed. And what kind of monster would I be if I denied you the chance to speak to your loving wife. *door opens* Inko: HISASHI MIDORIYA! AFO: *terrified whimpers*

Tenko is disappointed Uncle Hisashi went to jail. After all, he was a pretty cool dad. Much better than the original. Hana is mildly surprised but happy to see that Nana was right all along. Too bad she can't "accidentally" kick his shins for extra dessert anymore. Izuku is sad his dad was evil, so he'll gladly let himself be consoled by spending loads of time with All Might!

I have my problems with Rei and Inko, but at least they owned up to the not good things they did to their kids (maiming Shoto, not being supportive of Izuku) and made an effort to do better by them. I wholeheartedly agree that Inko was in the right not to want Izuku to continue at UA. What sane parent would ever want to see their kid go through FOUR villain attacks in the span of THREE MONTHS and repeatedly break his bones while receiving little to no help from their teachers?

A lot of fans just really hate characters who own up to their mistakes and make an actual effort to atone for them - All Might and Inko probably being the biggest ones. Write however and whatever the hell you want, but these portrayals of them as idiotic, abusive monsters has seeped into how many canonically see them.

Nah cause the fandom got me fucked up on AO3 for how they treat Inko and All Might, don't even get me started✋🏾

So suprise AFO IS BACK👎👎👎 seriously what the hell I knew he was gonna come back but he is so boring and I hate him as a villain like wdym you only pulling up with a plan that failed multiple times cos you have thing for your brother like!?!? I want to be clear I don't like the whole trope "slap on his head" even if is 100% harmless and comical. That being said, Mitsuki didn't slap on her son here bc she is EVIL and ABUSIVE. Bk was acting like an ass and she discipline him.

Yes, in real life such action would make people frown but like mha is not real. Plus, Asian moms can be like that. Hell, hispanic mom too.

I'm latina. I've seen rude kids being threaten by this to behave...hate or love, this alone is not indication of abuse. Its a way to make the kids not act rudely...in my time, there was spooky stories too. "If you do this, the monster will get you" you know? It's a tool. Not expert on motherhood but a mom disciplining her son is not always equal to ABUSE.

Also look at the image I shared...people are hanging up on hating Mitsuki for this panel but like ...her son is threating to beat her up. Look, BK has show to be rude with his mom (if he was being abuse...he wouldn't have provoked her)

Either fics shows her as LE BEST MOM EVER (read a fic where Inko was OP and her son is still abused and still asks for her to not hurt "kaachan"😒) or the worst mom ever. (One where she was happy her son got a quirk so now she can gave a life. She is going out and is barely at home, in essence abandoning her son, bk calls her auntie and still abuses Izu)

I hope you don't mind me asking but what are your views on inko because as much as hori tries to paint her as this overprotective mother I just never seem to get that vibe. I always get the vibe that sometimes she does more harm them good to izuku . So I would like to know how you think of her character and how you would changed her character to seem more supportive i guess?

Midoriya Inko is someone who I feel like loves her son but she is not someone I view as a good parent.

She reads to me as emotionally neglectful of Izuku - a key example of this is letting Izuku stay in Aldera while Bakugou was exploding him and destroying his things his whole childhood. To people who try to defend her and say 'Izuku hid his bullying from her', how well do you think a four year old can hide being exploded or having their things destroyed?

Inko also reads as someone who is overly emotionally dependant on Izuku - *insert the scenes we have of her crying and Izuku comforting her here.* Most of these scenes are because of her worrying because of bad things that have happened TO IZUKU such as news of his quirklessness or when he wakes up from a coma after the War Arc. Parents are meant to provide emotional support and be a pillar of strength to their children - with Izuku he seems to be that for his mum because his Dad is MIA. This is an unhealthy dynamic because he should not be his mum's emotional support.

How would I rewrite Inko?

I would have her be a proactive presence in her son's life like parents should be.

I would have it so as soon as Inko realises her son is being bullied by Bakugou she is shown notifying the teachers / bringing this to Aldera's attention.

I would have it so when Aldera does nothing or if they refuse to do anything she reports them and transfers Izuku into a better school (such as Iida or Todoroki's schools - because Izuku deserves either of them as a childhood friend more than a decade of being abused by Bkg.)

I would show Inko confronting Bakugou's parents about Bakugou's bullying and behavior to bring it to their attention. (None of this "Auntie Inko" nonsense from Bakugou like I see some fics use even if Mitsuki is her friend, and that's not confirmed by canon, I can't see any good mum liking her son's abuser.)

I would keep her emotional nature but have her actively try to hide her upset from Izuku on certain things. I.e the Quirklessness diagnosis, I would have her try to reassure Izuku that she loves him and believes in him quirk or no quirk yet him catch her crying at night when she thinks he's asleep. (This keeps the angst but makes Inko look like a better and more supportive mum.)

I would have her have more of a suspicion of Yagi around Izuku and have her bond with Yagi more. - We know Yagi is All Might. We, as readers, know this is an innocent and wholesome mentorship but to Inko this strange man has just popped out of nowhere and is spending all this time with Izuku. That, if Inko knew of it, should raise Alarm bells to a parent. Plus it would be good for Inko to see over time how good Yagi is for Izuku and have Yagi and Inko bond outside of Izuku.

Have Inko learn of OFA - I am forever salty that BAKUGOU learnt of OFA before anyone else, let alone Izuku's mum. And this version especially has a right to know.

Have Inko have more of a problem with UA - UA doesn't seem to keep the parents well informed plus AM and Aizawa's 'teaching' leaves a lot to be desired. Having Inko have more of a problem with it cements her as looking out for her son's best interests and being a proactive rather than a passive presence in his life.

These are seven improvements I can think of at the top of my head. Inko is a character that could use some rewriting to be a good parent but ultimately loves her son.

Okay so I will not explain for the 354 time why dfo is canon, sorry but I dont have the motivation or time for that right now, so if you want and if you are open minded enough to give dfo a fair chance, please read my dfo metas or the posts from others I reblogged. There are tons of hints and facts that speak in favor for dfo and just because inko deserves better or afo wouldnt be a good husband doesnt mean it cant be true. I think you meant, you dont WANT dfo to be true because of that reason and not you dont THINK it can be true, because that sounds.... kinda weird to be honest.

But I will give you one pure fact that literally confirms dfo. Afos prison number in tartarus is 1541. The kanjis of that number built the name "hisashi". The same how the kanjis of dabis birthday 18 january built the name "touya" an hidden information hori gave us long before the dabi = touya reveal. In other words when the tartarus guards call afo by his prison number 1541, they actually call him "hisashi" without anyone noticing it! Let me repeat that to make it more clear: THE. TARTARUS. GUARDS. GAVE. AFO. A. PRISON. NUMBER. THAT. TRANSLATES. INTO. "HISASHI".

THEY. CALL. HIM. HISASHI!!!

If that isnt enough for people to accept that afo is hisashi midoriya then I dont know what will, except maybe the reveal itself! Hori gave enough hints over the years, at this point he pretty much throws them at our faces! Also an other nice hint, 1541 are the ages of izuku and inko at the the time afo was imprisoned. Izuku is 15 and inko 41 at the time of the kamino arc. For all the rest I ask you again to read my dfo posts, because I will not repeat myself for the 354 time at this point. Or you give the "bnha dad for one" tag a visit.

I apologiez if my answer sounded kind of rude, but I just woke up and Im still a little tired. I think we can all agree that inko deserves better then afo, but that doesnt mean he isnt her husband! And just because afo is a villain that doesnt mean he cant be a loving husband and father when he is around and in private with his family! I mean, look at endeavor for gods sake: one of the "good guys", a HERO at the top of the ranking list who ABUSED his wife and children for years for his own agenda and goals! If a HERO can suck as a husband and father, why cant a villain be good in it???
