Hi - UK person here! I think there are a few reasons for them having a mortgage 1) property in London (and the outskirts) is absolutely ridiculously expensive (particularly considering the size of their house) so to find that amount of money in one huge chunk would be a huge burden 2) whilst they are clearly not poor I think there is an overestimation of how much money they have made vs how much money they have paid out over time (Dans tour is a good example). Plus tax for people earning a certain amount in UK is 45% (+ national insurance) so that has to be taken into account 3) if they do have money its quite likely at least part of it is invested. So whilst that would allow them to borrow it wouldnt be money that is physically at hand so it makes more sense to take out a mortgage because whilst you have to pay interest on a mortgage its likely to be less than the amounts made from your investments and you will pay penalties for ending an investment early (which when you work in a precarious job such as creator are things you particularly need to consider for the long term)

it does, thank you! i sure hope they invested money in something. although, buying a property is also an investment. they can clearly sell it for more if needed (you can't do it spontaneously if the bank is tied to it though. at least not in my country. if there's a mortgage/loan you need to get the bank's approval here). funny how i think people are underestimating how much money they made during their prime years on youtube including ii era :)) at the same time, i don't doubt that Dan's tour was the opposite of a financial success but that's a privilege he had because he was already secure and could invest money and time into wad (and dd. sorry, they come hand in hand).

can i ask about 45% tax? how does it work with companies? dnp have several companies. usually, people create multiple companies to legally avoid some taxing. if theoretically, their income goes through multiple companies will the % be lower and can it work at all (or am i just saying nonsense)?

lol I'm sorry I'm making a bit of fun. (relax, I drew bluekenzie art, of course I'm on his side) Yes, while that is a point in Mackenzie's favor, I don't think it's very concrete in saying that's definitely Mackenzie's kid, because let's not forget all of puppy's features including the bent ear, are found in Bluey's family.

Stripe has a bent ear. All of puppy's colors including the "lavender" color everyone is so keen to call Jean Luc's color I personally don't buy because that is Bluey's shade of dark spots and can also be found in Stripe and Nana/Bluey's patrenal side of the family. All of Puppy's color shades favor the blue heelers.

Do I still think it's Mackenzie's--well optimistically yes. Not just cuz puppy does look like it can be a fluffy border heeler mix, but narratively as well as character wise I think Bluey and Mackenzie are better and more realistically suited (and suspiciously they played Barky Boats right after airing Surprise! But I can take that with a grain of salt)

But for real for real, I think Puppy's features are way too ambiguous and generically blue heeler to draw any actual conclusions unless we get confirmation from the creators themselves--which I highly doubt we'll ever get anthing. And that's fine, cuz you can have your own headcanons about it however you want and that's great.

About the raws

How time flies. I was going to make a post about this last chapter and have passed 2 months already XD My bad.

I decided not to post the raw scans here anymore.

I will still buy the new vnc chapters from the Gangan Joker because I like to have it, but I don't want to use my time creating a drive for it when MangaUp! has the new chapter available in english at the same time that Gangan Joker magazine has it in japanese.

EDIT: It seems like MangaUp! doesn't upload extra chapters in their app at the same time as Japan. So, from now, I'll only share the raws of these extras since the english version won't be available at the same time.

To use 30-60 mins to create 1 drive and another 30-60 mins to create the other it's pretty useless and a waste of time that I don't have.

Very few people here understand japanese. My main reason to make the drive in the past was that the magazine version was available +1 day before the official english version. So, even if you don't understand, you can see what happens in the chapter.

Right now we have both, english and japanese versions, at the same time. So there is no need to post the jp one because again, few people can enjoy it.

This is about GOS2 but not quite -just wanted to tell you how refreshing (and calming) it is to see someone dislike something, or disagree with something, or someone (Neil, in this case) while being completely polite and respectful to people who do like it (the show, the ship, this season specifically, whatever) and not doing personal attacks or being insulting or downright hostile or aggressive. Just... Liking what you like, not liking what you don't like, and being in your own "bubble" so to speak. I adore the first season, and some moments in this one (not the season in general), and I've had to see and start avoiding absolutely wild stuff since 2019, from haughty superiority from book first fans calling people who liked the show absolute idiots, people directly attacking fanwork creators or even Tennant, Sheen and Gaiman themselves, to even worse stuff I'd rather not think about. As you can probably already imagine, that specific kind of dumpster fire has only gotten worse since the release of S2.

My take on fandom has always been to enjoy what you enjoy and ignore the rest unless it's something serious with real-world implications or consequences. It's always stressed me out how people can get, to the point that for several years I stopped engaging with fandom entirely, and I just wanted to say this, I guess, because it's been a breath of fresh air. It was kind of abrupt, and I do apologize for that -- truly. It's why I am tackling this ask! But, it was very freeing to delete that blog, and it felt as if a weight had truly been lifted from my chest to see it go. Bittersweet, yes! But absolutely needed. Constantly seeing asks box jump from 300 to 400+, the constant hate messages, the inboxes -- it was all too much for me to tackle, and honestly, it felt as if my blog was just no longer productive at that point.

I am always 100% behind the points made on that blog, and the problems in SJM's writing. My passion for those points will never fade or change for that matter. But I think the book community and publishing are just not ready for an actual change -- and it's tough to have the conversation about racial and abusive themes in books when people pick and choose when to chastise and ignore. It's literally like having a conversation with a wall. I can't honestly have a conversation about tackling racism in the book industry when people can't even let go of a book series that isn't even well written. We aren't being militant about the problems in the book industry, and its exactly why it looks the way it does. I don't know, I think I've grown apathetic to it. The urge for docility among reviewers disguised as 'allyship,' the flip-flop about abuse and abusive themes in books. None of it makes sense. And it's like the legwork to make it happen just doesn't seem worth having someone constantly throw vitriol in your face. It just seemed like it becomes a tit-for-tat straw-man debate in the end, and that -- again -- isn't productive. 'Tamlin stans this' and 'Nesta stans that, and it was like ?? Can we just think outside of that? We can't complain about the way PoC are always treated in the story and then turn around and defend an author who would 100% kill them off and let her white character wear their trauma like a second skin. Like how serious are these conversations when the ones having them are unwilling to stop supporting the author propagating these harmful tropes to other authors. FBAA ran because ACOTAR walked; ACOTAR ran because Twilight walked. These harmful stereotypes in these books melded and made the environment we have today. And it is what is.

As another blog asked, I will not be returning to that blog as it was deleted. But there are so many beautiful and articulate antis in the tag that adeptly explain the problems in this series and in much clearer and more concise ways! My blog was a rambling mess anyways!

Funny addition: And do you know the sheer frustration of typing up an entire post that's 2000+ with links and citations talking seriously about abuse and racism and how its portrayed in the media just for someone to skim the post and make a follow-up, sub-post that starts with: 'Tamlin stans always think.' -- yeah never again.

I’m fascinated about the oc stuff you mentioned! I only recently (within the last year) started creating oc’s so I’ve not really thought about creating images of them. I pretty much just save stock photos and photos of celebrities that resemble what I’m imagining, but that can be a pain. If you're interested, I have a ton of picrew links I can share (and obviously I can give you ones with more specific aesthetics if you have something in mind, versus just dumping a truckload of random links on you).

I also really like using Heroforge (D&D Minifugre website) to make ocs (D&D related or not). They update pretty regularly so there's always better options (especially for non-human ocs) and colors for more specific customizations. It's especially cool because if you decide you really like it, you can buy your oc as a minifigure (but you can still use the site/save your oc even without buying anything)! I love free websites :3

Lately, I've been focusing on my batch of Minecraft ocs. I was supposed to join a big rp server, but that fell apart so now I'm just 'writing' it all myself. It's been really fun, and I like being able to build an intricate story and characters from a pre-set template that comes with making ocs within a pre-existing world/ruleset (It's just much easier on my busy brain for when I'm not working on my actual original writing or whatever XP). But because of this, I've also been making full Minecraft skins for those ocs. It's pretty much just pixel art, and I am nowhere near the levels of some of the proffesional skin-makers out there, but I've made some pretty cool stuff if I do say so myself!

TL;DR I am not good at art, but my imagination is very hyperactive, so having some of these online resources has helped a ton in just getting something out into the world. I am more than happy to share site links and answer any questions you have about navigating them if you wanna dm me! I'd also loove to talk about all my ocs more, but I know that can be a lot for a tumblr ask…especially if tumblr keeps eating them >:(

ahhh i'm glad you liked the drabble!

i was actually fairly nervous about posting it because i knew how it was going to get painted by people who didn't read it. i'm someone who takes a more blurry view on gender and sexuality as a whole and feels that it's not something that's easy to quantify. attraction works in mysterious ways, basically. i knew people were going to look at it and go, "ew, she's making the lesbian straight." no. i'm making the bi woman bi.

one of the big reasons i went ahead and posted it is that i feel a lot of kinship with the bisexual community as an asexual. i don't talk about my sexuality much over here, mostly because i was active on tumblr during the ace discourse era. it was a really horrible time to be figuring out your sexuality, in amongst all this rabid, awful talk from members of a community that should have been supporting us and amplifying our voices. so i know how hard it can be when discussions of your own sexuality and experience get hammered into a box labelled "actually homophobic actually" by radicals in the community. and it's something i see happening with bi people, too. when "straight" people figure out they're bi, it's celebrated. when "gay" people figure out they're actually bi, it's seen as a downgrade. it's nasty and i don't want any part of it.

i do want to state that i am aware of the tropes that people may feel this fic invokes. i am aware of the "curing the lesbian" angle. i hate it too. i hope that's not what the fic is, at all. but if that trope's looming shadow is going to ruin the fic for you, i encourage you not to read it. but ship and let ship applies to all kinds of fic.

and lastly the final reason i posted it is that i cut my teeth in the glee fandom. so i guess i'm not scared of a little fandom wank.

#asked and answered #fic: look don't leap #i wanted to take a moment to actually put my thoughts in order in a gentle way #the fic and a few others are kicking off in the discourse space #and i can tell by the talking points that they haven't actually read the fic #which i don't care about #if it's going to upset you don't read it #but if you're going to wield it against me as a weapon please check your facts first #i'm not naieve enough to believe that people in fandom are prepared to give the benefit of the doubt #but personally i try to work from a position where people are generally not malicious #i'm not a fan of how this is all escalating #i think that things are getting nasty on both sides of the discourse #and like i said! i fully understand the opposing side's feelings and pov #you don't have to engage with my fic #but if you want to engage with me and have a chat abt it i'm happy to dm or whatever #sorry random nonny for highjacking ur ask #had to put my thoughts in order
