hello friends it is time for my manifesto : day 1 review 😈

OKAY SO FIRST — when they announced their comeback with walk the line, i was very excited with just that intro alone. i really like the mix of english, korean and japanese. THEY FINALLY GAVE MY KING RIKI MORE SPOTLIGHT. AND ALSO JAY’S ENGLISH 😮‍💨😮‍💨

okay so then me and my friend watched the future perfect pass the mic mv together and OKAY THEY FUCKING SLAYED. THEY ATE THAT SHIT UP AND LEFT NO CRUMBS. THE CHOREO?? LITERALLY BLEW ME AWAY. AND THE SONG IN GENERAL WAS VERY SURPRISING BUT I ENJOY IT A LOT. it’s very catchy and kinda gives like bts + western rap music blended together vibes.

next we have paradoxxx invasion. i do not hate it. it flows really well. very hip hop-y. ALSO SUNOO AND JAKE ATE UP THE RUNS IN THEIR RESPECTIVE PRE CHORUS PARTS

IM GONNA BE HONEST i wasn’t sure how i was gonna feel about tfw and when it started to play i was kinda like “wtf is this..” BUT THEN IT CONTINUED AND I REALLY LIKED IT. it gives off kdrama ost vibes. it’s very cute actually. they sing very softly and it’s VERY different from the rest of the album but i wasn’t disappointed.

SHOUT OUT OKAY I LIKE IT I LIKE THE BEGINNING A LOT AND ITS VERY FUN it reminds me of like an early 5sos song from like their first album but also at the same time reminds me of a song that would come out in a disney channel original movie like camp rock or something BUT THAT DOESNT MEAN I HATE IT BC I LIKE IT A LOT

finally we have foreshadow. and i have some choice words for foreshadow. ENHYPEN OWES ME EMOTIONAL COMPENSATION FOR THE AMOUNT OF DISAPPOINTMENT I FEEL RN. I AM SO UPSET. they really teased me. they said “oh you were expecting a full song? hahahah no this is an outro you fucking loser”. WHY WOULD THEY DO THIS. i was so FUCKING EXCITED FOR A FULL SONG AND I WAS GIVEN AN OUTRO W A 30 SECOND SONG CLIP. they blue balled me. i cant even explain how upset i am about it. BUT BESIDES THAT. foreshadow didn’t disappoint in the sense that it’s bad. i’m just sad i didn’t get a full song.

overall i rate this album 10/10. it was very questionable whether i’d like it before i heard the entire thing, but now that i have i’m very satisfied with it. they really have no bad songs (ignoring billy poco). i’m very proud of their growth since their debut and you can tell they’re maturing. i appreciate that they don’t stay with one sound too. i love them so much and i’m extremely excited to see the big things they’ll continue to do in the future <3

for your first question, the different members definitely have varying feelings (but at this point all have Some feelings) towards mc. im sort of trying to spotlight each one a little bit, but am certainly happy to talk more about any one dynamic (or any of the dynamics between the members) if you like! (unless i have specific plans and don't wanna spoiler smth lol)

for the second question, i think that's tied to the first - they all see her as a Human first and foremost, but they all also have different pasts and experiences with humans. that said, gumiho are primarily known for eating Men - and mc is an unmarried woman in a war-torn society where said gumiho are more or less employed as mercenaries. so that tints the lens as well. let me know if this doesn't actually answer your question!

titles... are my nemesis... it would probably be a lot better for promoting it if i did have a title huh........

AND YES COMEBACK NEW MUSIC... fingers crossed for lots of korean songs... more bangers like dis-ease pls bangtan... 4 Me....

hi hi hi !! may i please request a personality ship with bts and ateez !! i apologize in advance bc it's super long </3

I’m a 5’9.5 (basically 5’10) girl with dark skin, jet black hair (currently in long twists rn!!), and i’m on the curvier side (esp hips and my thighs) !! some of my favorite features are my plump lips (and i have a beauty mark on my bottom lip!), my long legs (that look so so so so good in skirts and dresses), my kempt and pretty fingernails, and my eyelashes !!! i’m a virgo (and surprisingly i get along with all the signs, i cant think of a sole zodiac sign i DONT mix well with), and i am an i/enfj (i got 51% extravert 49% intra the first time, then 50% for both the second time!! ) and i honestly agree—i’m an ambivert all the way! i often come off as cold/shy when meeting new people (one of my closest friends avoided me for a month before meeting me because i looked so intimidating LMAO), but once you get close to me i turn into a bundle of warmth and love: i will never stop texting them the <3 emoji every morning or buying my friends/s/o their favorite starbucks order when they need a little cheer-me-up.

i’m extremely passionate about the issues and people i care about and the goals and dreams i have. I’m creative, patient, an extremely good listener, caring, a social butterfly, and extremely hardworking. my friends always told me of my heart of gold and how perceptive i am of the people around me—noticing immediately when something is wrong and trying to make them feel better. I’m also very headstrong, detailed, and determined!! my friends also call me a nerd since i’ve had all a’s since kindergarten—i LOVE school and would describe myself as intelligent. i really like that i’m empathetic and motivational to those around me. it’s really easy for me to show my affection, adoration, and support for someone because i just want everyone to feel loved and safe :( i HATE seeing my loved ones sad, and when people usually have problems about anything (from family to just school), i’m the one they come to talk to because of my warm and openminded heart. I love sharing happiness with my friends in their goals and always hype them up no matter what, and it makes me so so so so happy seeing my loved ones content. im also really, really funny (my fave personality trait of mine tbh)!! I’m always cracking jokes and laughing (sometimes for no reason LMAOO). i would be in the library at like 7 am with my friends and struggle with stifling my laugh from jokes i told </3

I also love to go out and explore—whether trying out a new restaurant in the city or a newly opened amusement park or trying something new, like skydiving (or some other crazy but fun idea), trying recipes from around the world, or trying sledding for the first time! at the same time, i like really chill, mellow spending-time-alone-or-with-one-other-person activities like baking (my favorite treat to bake is red velvet cupcakes and cheddar bay biscuits) and dancing !! (i’ve been a dancer for more than 12 years!!). i can also speak more than 5 languages (including korean!) and i’m always saying random phrases (like thank you, i love u so much!, gtfo my face, that sucks ass) in a random language too LMFAOOO. i often think being a coffee/cafe lover is a personality trait (i love love love love love coffee) i also love accessories (earrings, necklaces, bracelets, anklets, rings, etc) and would die of happiness when the day i can wear matching accessories with my s/o comes.

besides being my bestfriend who i can kiss and whatnot (hehe), my ideal type is a TALL (THEY DONT HAVE TO BE but 5’9+...i’m already tall but pls .5 of an inch taller would be enough) man who has eyes for me and only me !!! they may look cold/cool/mysterious/laid back at first glance (like “i dont like u lol” or “yeah haha 🙂" to any other girls but “hi baby what can i do for u today to please the loml” with me <3) but turn into the sweetest, warmest, cutest honey bun once i get to know them! (kinda like me)!! ALSO a man who can pull off all black outfits like those are my FAVORITE omg. he needs to have a BIG sense of humor (like i want to laugh every second i’m with him and laugh so hard that our stomachs start hurting and we beg each other to stop making jokes type of humor), fashionable (so i can learn fashion pls and wear coordinated outfits with him). i just want a boy who i could talk to and listen to for HOURS. like i would follow him into the bathroom as he showers and sit on the toilet and just listen to him talk about his day or vent to him, but also a boy that loves comfortable silence!! like just cuddling with each other or im studying, and hes working on a personal project so that just being with him makes me feel warm <3 i want a s/o who’s willing to go out and travel with me so i could take off guard pics of him and make him my wallpaper until he begs me to change it. im also not good at conflict so if conflict arises, id love a boy who knows how to talk me down and open up the room for conversation and make me feel safe and not as if im confronted or wrong, someone where we can just talk, resolve our problem, and make it up with a hug or night out!! this kinda leads to me wanting a relationship where we both help improve each other and our flaws (for example some of my flaws are callousness, taking things to heart sometimes, and not opening up easily, etc), so i’d really appreciate a relationship where my partner and i can help each other grow as people. i also love love love to cook, so i’d love an s/o that loves cooking with me and teaching each other how to cook each other’s cultural foods (i would love to teach my bf how to cook jollof rice and have a cookoff one day). I like ALL 5 of the love languages but my top 3 tied for 1st are quality time (THIS i want to spend everyday with my bf at chinatown or a new city exploring), words of affirmation (someone who reaffirms me of their love continuously, supportively, and in sweet ways), and acts of service (cooking my favorite food when i’m down, doing chores that i cant do when tired). men who are really expressive through touch are also ideal <3 i'd shy away from pda, but inside the house i’d be so happy yet so shy and flustered when they express their love through touch (like laying in my lap so i can play with their hair, holding my hand while watching tv, cuddling while talking about whatever). OR like the SLIGHTEST compliment or act of love (LIKE BACKHUGS OR HOLDING HANDS OR KISSING MY BEAUTY MARKS OR FOREHEAD KISSESJSJSJSJ). i love a man who's goal oriented, know what he wants, and makes the move first (kinda like taking control of the relationship!!) in all, i’d just love to be really appreciated and loved and also show the same love, support, warmth, closeness, and happiness to my bf <3 tysm <333

i really didn’t love ptd, but kind of as an aside it feels weird that this time period is being characterized as bts’ English era when they had an entire Korean album last November, not to mention the Japanese compilation album this june. like im not saying im not tired of the English singles getting all of the energy + promotion, but it’s literally 3 songs out of their entire 8 year discography , yknow? i don’t really know where i was going with this .. basically, i know there’s a lot of people who are sort of over their English comebacks (myself included), but it’s not like this style/genre is all they’re ever gonna do again. personally im just kind of waiting for another comeback that excites me more than this one did, and in the meantime im not gonna waste my energy trying to force myself to enjoy it

I see what you mean but also this is their English era that is targeting the US market and it started with Dynamite so that's not completely wrong. The thing is they actually might do this style or something similar again because the fans made it top the charts which means "it's working" whether it deserved to be #1 or not. Soooo who knows what will happen, I guess they won't give up until they win the Grammy (derogatory). HYBE will use and milk the power of the fans that gives them profit for as long as they can.....

yes my 11th �� i remember being on youtube somewhere early 2014 when it recommended me to watch the boy in luv mv and 16-year-old was immediately intrigued by taehyung with his orange hair and his moves. so then i decided to research a little about them and it took me another month or two to actually get into them and their music, but i'm so glad i decided to look into them after all because i met seven amazing men that i'm proud to say i can look up to. my first comeback was dark&wild in august of 2014 and i remember being one of the select few international fans being excited about it. i used to have an active twitter account from 2011 to 2015, which was a 1D fan account first but then changed to a bts fan account, and the interactions i had then where mostly with korean/asian fans and everyone else was always questioning what i was on about and a lot of ppl unfollowed me bc they didnt know anything of kpop or bts. ive lived through so many comebacks now, even the wings era when the entire fandom was in shambles with every new cryptic video bighit released 😂 theyve grown so so so much over the past six years ive been with them, from a hip hop boy group to the seven wonderful and inspiring men they are today. if theres one thing i learned, its that all the bullshit the media may spew about them, i know all of that is untrue. i grew up with them, they are my second family. i literally owe them my life, and im so proud of them for staying true to themselves and their culture despite their immense popularity across the world. they are my heroes, and i will go into this comeback with love for all seven of them and i will go into the next comeback, and the one after that, as well, until there are no comebacks anymore.

hi. so if you dont know me, im ___ and i live in america. as a kpop fan it is very incontinent that i live so far away, as im always anticipating a new comeback from a new group as a stan multiple.

life is very different over here than in korea anyways, as i am a small not very known ice skater. ive been an ice skater since i was young and as ive been doing it for so long, i feel at one with the ice. ive become so in sync with it and i do it pretty much everyday. i always hoped since i was a little girl that i would be famous, but now i dont really mind, as long as i do ice skating i dont mind.

i was sat at home, scrolling through tumblr and other social medias, as i saw that bts made a tweet and it was Taehyung (aka my actual husband) and its convenient that i speak korean as i read it, it said;

‘Hello America! Im excited for the concert soon! See you soon ARMYS #V’

I WAS SO EXCITED, i actually managed to get tickets this time but they were so close to getting sold at like 2 seconds after they were put up. it was a big chunk of my money taken but i wont regret it.

for the rest of that day, i sat around not really doing much as i prepared my lungs and feelings for tomorrow night.

it was the next day and i could actually feel my tearducts preparing themselves. did i not mention that i managed to get front row tickets? it was a huge amount of money but as i said, i wont regret it.

a few hours past and the time for me to leave came upon. i must say i dont look too shabby today as i dressed up a little bit- but not too much.

i gather all of my belongings as i head out my door for a long drive. i sit in my car, and play their cds and jam out to them.

half way through they've played loads of bops including FAKE LOVE, IDOL and even BS&T.

i was jamming out when suddenly Magic Shop came on which was definitely one of my favourites and so i reached out my arms towards the stage and started bopping out. as soon as taehyung started singing, i was looking upon him as he was stood so close to me.

he just so happened to look down and our met at once.

its like time stopped.

his visuals lit up the huge screen and his eyes were locked on mine.

the world seems to slow down

i can no longer hear the screams of the other screaming fans and sparks flew all over the stage and around us.

his verse soon ended and he had to look away, but as he did he had a huge spread grin across his face. his smile was giddy and he got really excited and started jumping across the stage to the beat.

all the girls around me start screaming

‘OMG HE LOOKED AT ME’

‘OH MY LORD WE HAVE TO BE SOULMATES I FELT THE SPARK’

and i started doubting myself. what if it wasnt me?

after another hour, the concert finished and everyone was ecstatic. everyone gets up to leave the arena when a member of staff comes up to me and asks me if i know korean. i answer yes and they ask me to go with them.

i follow and they lead me backstage. as i open the door im greeted with a bunch of sweaty boys which was hOT. me and taehyung made eye contact and a huge smile meets his face.

he comes up to me and leads me to a different room.

we speak for a while and time seems infinite. i finally get to know him more than on stage.

he says ‘it seems like its gotten too late. you should head home ____! i have your contact details, but i need to admit that i will miss you a lot. as we just finished a world tour, we have to go back to korea in a few days.’

‘ah, i understand tae. i will miss you a lot too. its a shame that i may not see you for s while/ i sadly smile.

‘WAIT i know this is gonna sound crazy, but come with us! it is crazy but ill miss you too much, i already like you so much!’ he whines

‘but ill be leaving so much behind. i even need to pack..’ i trail off

‘yeah. its fine, you didnt have to-it was just a suggestion’ his shoulders slump as he looks down.

‘that doesnt mean i wont. once i pack up, ill come and move to korea’ i smile brightly.

‘ahhh thats my girl!’

I absolutely love Boy With Love! I feel like Halseys voice really complements BTS' (especially Jimins) voice perfectly and this was the perfect song for her to collab on. I admire that she even sang a few lines in Korean! Watching her dance (she danced so good!!) and goof off with the boys was adorable and you can really tell that they have alot of chemistry and this collab wasn't just for clout but because they genuinely wanted to create music together. (She really is the 8th member, y/n is shaking sjskjd) I've liked Halsey for years so I was really excited and anticipating this and was not disappointed at all (I wish she had more lines in the mv tho, but I can always just listen to the spotify version where she had more) Aside from the collab aspect the song as a whole is amazing imo, its so catchy and fun and makes me want to sing and dance and fall in love idek its just so good. Their hair was on point (as always) im loving pink Jimin and blue Yoongi. The dance is cute too I can't wait to learn it and look like a dying squid while doing it (dance line snapped) The whole aesthetic of the mv was perfect too! I loved the bright and fun colors and that part with all the signs behind RM that had BTS albums on them was so cool. I also love how with this comeback they've recreated Boy In Love (their most controversial and critized era) into something beautiful with better themes and a much better message! As for the album, ive only listened to it a few times but I definatly like it. I'd tell you which songs are my favorites so far if I knew how to spell them skajdjk. (Jamais Vu, Make it right and the one with the emo Jin scream are my favs) This is my 3rd comeback with BTS and I think it may be my second favorite cb by them as of now (probably wont ever be 1st cause tear has a special place in my heart it being my first kpop/bts cb) anyways yea basically BTS snapped and I love Map Of The Soul: Persona aswell as BTS, thanks for coming to my ted talk!

THIS IS NOT A HATE POST, PLS DONT HATE ME IF YOU DONT AGREE, I JUST WANTED TO STATE AN OPINION AND I TOTALLY UNDERSTAND IF YOU DONT AGREE BUT PLS DONT ATTACK ME IF YOU DONT.

idk if it’s just me, but bts’ music (and bts as a whole) just isn’t the same anymore. their songs get increasingly less original and expressive, and every comeback gets less impressive to me. i believe that bts totally worked hard to get to where they are now, and they are still amazing people and amazing kpop idols, but i have gradually lost interest in them. i loved the deep messages in their songs, and loved how they weren’t afraid to go against society, but these comebacks are just generic pop songs. i also feel like when they go on american tv, the hosts kind of just belittle them, and half of them are just using them for clout, which hurts to see. i also think a lot of armys are toxic and immature as fck, and they’re super disrespectful to senior artists and believe that bts is the best and only kpop group that everyone should stan. the overall fandom has too many stupid people that it makes my head hurt, and i can see why people leave the fandom because of other toxic fans. i never understood the fanwars over the teensiest things. im also korean, and when bts started getting more popular in korea, i was SO excited and happy that other koreans were finally starting to realize how amazing bts were, rather than international fans being over 90% of bts’ fans. it’s weird that i went from such a hardcore fan with merch, downloading ALL their songs, and staying up and following all their comebacks, to gradually leaving the fandom. i am definitely NOT a hater, half my posts on my dead af blog are about bts, 80% of my 12000 liked posts are about bts, and i was such a hardcore army that it’s weird to be saying this.

i just kinda wanted to get that off my chest, i still think bts are amazing people and they’re still super humble despite their massive popularity, and i respect that. thiis post is just one in the thousands of posts regarding bts and im sure this will get lost in the flood of posts, but i again just wanted to get that off my chest. thanks for listening/reading if you got this far HAHAHAHHA

1. how did you know he was your bias?

oof literally 5 seconds into the baepsae dance practice (which was the first video i ever looked up of bts), when he turned in his position in the center, i paused and was like “ok yes you, how do you like your eggs in the morning?”

2. what’s your favorite thing about him?

i love that despite his macho appearance, he’s literally just a cute baby boy who grew up so fast but under the arms of six amazing friends. he’s just a complicated 21 yr old and idk why i always refer to him as being my baby when he’s literally an yr older.

3. what’s your favorite jk moment?

probably clips of when he was younger and rlly shy because when you compare them to now, he’s much more comfortable with himself (as you can see through his more frequent postings on youtube and twitter).

4. favorite era?

i rlly like hyyh2 jungkook bc we got to have the angsty yoonkook moments. but also i think bst and ly tear were also rlly iconic eras for him.

oof i love both of them, but i listen to euphoria a lot more.

OOOOOOFFF FILIPINO FOOD IS ALWAYS BOMB and i think that he’s tried a lot since he visited the philippines a bunch of times. kare kare, beef sinigang, halo halo, lechon, siopao, etc

- First of all JK looks stunning in his solo poster i think this is the best picture ive seen of him ever - Hes wearing normalish clothes on his torso but pyama pants on his legs which suggests that hes in the wheelchair because his legs dont work and not bc hes too weak to walk or whatever - Probs bc he got hit by a car in the I need You mv - Hes looking up and thats probably for the fact that his face looks perfect from that angle and aesthetics but it could also be him looking up at his guardian aka yoongi

- Yoongi does not look like Yoongi in his solo poster hes like a mixture between jimin and jhope and its giving me the creeps -also hes in a pipe which once again could be for aesthetics but it could also mean that he feels isolated bc he cant talk to anyone abt how hes feeling about JK's situation, he doesnt want to trouble jk bc the boy has already got enough on his plate - the picture creeps me out ok im uncomfortable

-Yoongi and JK's poster is pretty self-explanatory - JK's in the hospital and Yoongis worried in the waiting room - the thing about the paired posters is that theres a really big contrast between light and dark in each poster - once again, could be aesthetics (damn you koreans) but i think it has deeper meanings (also im bored and i imagine things when im bored fight me) - in this one's, yoongi's is dark which is weird because JK is the one with the actual problem - Even though he does look really sad and like hes wallowing, junkooks picture is the brighter one - That might mean that Yoongi is mentally doing worse bc he cant to anything for his hospitalised friend - Like he just worries too much - Also can we talk about how bony yoongis knee looks im worried

- Ok Jhope and Jimins poster - Theyre both in big empty rooms which means dAnCiNg💃🏻 - Jhope's rooms really bright and clean (also its the brighter picture) while Jimins is dark and dirty - In hobis solo poster hes in front of a prison which might explain jimins room and why hes so sad

- Jimins room literally has bars in front of the window like how fucking obvious can it get - that would also explain the pairing of the two - not to mention jimins solo poster, maybe he was imagining being outside again - Hobi is literally the only one smiling in all of these posters how typical - Since hobis room is really white and clean, maybe hes in a mental facility? Idk maybe thats why hes smiling all the time

Well, of course you accepted it. They quickly became the group of internet friends that you would always play with. There were a couple of additions to the group as well such as DANCEMONSTA who was Namjoon and Hobiii who was Hoseok. You guys would swap out as it was normally first come, first serve.

The only person that you weren’t as close with was Jungkook. You constantly got into fights with each other about who was the best Widowmaker which resulted in multiple 1v1’s which were always quite tied. Despite this, you both refused to believe that the other was the better player.

Another thing was that, you didn’t know anything about them other than their names. This wasn’t really needed, when your playing a video games.

You guys constantly use Discord to communicate. This meant you didn’t know what they looked like, what they did or where they lived as you both spoke a mixture of English and Korean. Despite this, you became close to Taehyung, Hoseok and Jimin because of your personality.

Another thing Jungkook still thought you were a boy. Ever since Jungkook called out that you were using a voice changer, he never really thought any different. When you say you might be a girl, he thinks you are just trying to trigger him. But that wasn’t the case.

You make your way to your bedroom to see your simple room which included: a bed, posters, a tv, and your gaming computer. You turn your computer on which automatically brought up your Spotify account and your Discord.

You start to shuffle your ’badass’ playlist. You hear (Y/F/S) which causes you to start jamming. Your head starts bobbing up and down whilst moving your body around to the beat on your small gaming chair. You swear you were trying to stay on it.

When Discord finally loads in, it pops up. You see a group of messages in the ‘GAMING BUDDIES ★’ group server;

‘is anyone coming on today?’ ➝ GucciBoi

'sure’ ➝ BusanBoi95

'whatever'➝ AgustD

'can’t, have a date.'➝ Windowmaker

’Date? Since when can that nerd get a date?’ You thought to yourself, you were somehow overcome with jealousy you find yourself typing a fast response without thinking.

'you, date? sure, sure’ 'and i would love too’ You swiftly type each answer, wanting to rile up Jungkook.

'yes it’s a date'➝ Windowmaker

'no it isn’t, we live together’ ➝ AgustD

'fine’ ’im just busy, k?’ ➝ ’Windowmaker

'i knew it’ ➝ EDGELORD

'well, you couldnt get a date even if you tried'➝ Windowmaker

'Flirting?’ again, thinking to yourself whilst grabbing the nearest pillow from your bed to rest your head against. You click on Overwatch to see an invite from Taehyung.

'we are both guys, tae’ 'and im not really into them’ ’idk about (Y/N/N)’ ’➝ Windowmaker

You receive a discord call from GucciBoi, you rush to click on it to say; “I’m into guys”

There was a pause until, you hear two quiet same’s. You could see that only Taehyung and Yoongi were in the call.

Windowmaker/ Hobiii/ BusanBoi95 have accepted the call.

“What were you guys talking about? (Y/N/N), you should of realised I wasn’t there to make a comeback ” Jungkook’s obnoxiously smooth voice calls out.

“I wasn’t making a comeback-” You reply, getting cut-off by a excited welcoming.

“Hey (Y/N/N)” Hoseok screams, causing the whole group to move the headphones away from their ears. After you finish laughing at his excitement, you start to gush;

“Ahhh my Hobiiiii. I’ve missed you, my love. Still love you.” You were gushing being able to talk to one of your best friends after a couple of days of silence from both parties.

“Of course you do” He was always quite smug when you proclaimed your love.

“Hey, what about me?” Jimin and Taehyung both chimed in, they sounded whiny with one being husky and the other quite high but soft.

“Awww, I love you both too, my best friends” You smile, they generally were your best friends you would tell them everything.

“Ew. Guys, I really don’t care, let’s just start playing” Jungkook growls, his voice holding a bit of jealously within it.

There was another pause.

“I forgot…love you too Yoongi” You add, smirking as you hear a group of laughter.

“(Y/N/N), I swear to god-”

“Jungkook fuck off, lets play.”

You look to see your team of Gaming Buddies finding a match.

“How come internet friends don’t normally meet up?” Taehyung suddenly blurts out during the middle of their 5th competitive match. You were on a winning streak for the past 5 games.

Taehyung’s question causes you to start stuttering as you become more and more nervous.

“Ehhh” You stutter, trying to stall.

“(Y/N/N). We’ve all known you for like 2 years now and I know the guys won’t say anything but we really want to meet you-”

You grab ahold of your nearest drink and start to down it in attempt of distracting yourself from the conversation.

“So…hey, should we meet up?”

Hi Lu, I'm sorry if this is an unpopular opinion but i wanted to share it. The album is called "Love Yourself: her" and it's confirmed that it's about falling in love with a girl. I of course have no problem with BTS dating and stuff irl, but I really hope they dont go in the route of "loving someone else helps you love yourself" because that can be kinda toxic. I personally think all the romantic stuff takes away from loving yourself and the HYYH concept (1)

Also Bighit removed all of BTS' songs from spotify and reuploaded them later, with all the titles in English. I'm not so sure about that either, like they're Korean and everyone knew the hangul for the songs in Korean anyway? It might just be b/c spotify is primarily an American/European service tho. Well all in all I'm still excited for the comeback and don't want to make any big assumptions yet, just kinda disappointed w/ some decisions that have been made so far. (2)

Ah i dont really understand the problem w/ english tracks... is it also in english in korea? im a bit confused.

but as for the first ask, it’s really hard to tell just from the teasers, and i think we should wait before we impose any judgments.

my adventures of being an anti to being the biggest stan of EXO

Hey ~ this post isn’t really a need-to-read blog but if you do read it then thank you. Since EXO’s 5th year anniversary is coming soon, I just wanted to share how much I fucking hated the whole genre KPOP itself and how EXO like legit changed my life. cheesy af but bear with me it’s a good story i tell ya, or so I think lol.

I haven’t been a kpop fan for long, but since I’ve been exposed to kpop since I was a kid I grew up listening to a few selected kpop songs which are from the groups every kpop stan should know about. I’m from the Philippines, and I’m still a junior in high school ~ ever since I was a kid me and my elder sister (who also legit turned into a kpop fan herself because of me // both of us were antis before) always tuned in on MTV because music is just the world to us. Back then, I was the biggest brat for One Direction ever since they debuted. So me and my sis would always tune in on MTV to see them, but since it was MTV Asia, ofc they would show groups from all over Asia. That’s when I saw all legends and the biggest hits on kpop like SNSD, 2NE1, 2PM, BIGBANG, SUJU, WONDER GIRLS, PSY, and EXO themselves.

Since EXO was already a big hit during the Wolf era, that was the very first time I saw them on TV and I sure as hell hated them the first time I saw them. I was all like, “Ugh, they’re disgusting” and “Why do they even exist” during that time ~keep in mind this was 2012 ~ I tried to let myself watch them but they never just grew on me that time, like ever. And so at school, my classmates were already aware of this rising kpop group EXO, and I could always hear the name Luhan and Chanyeol. I can never forget how much of a fangirl my friend was to them and I was always glaring at them for liking those types of music and bands since I was a hardcore Directioner during that time.

It wasn’t long since Growl was released, and it became a really huge hit here in the Philippines! I swear to God I remember always hearing the song in malls, in public markets, in stores, in the sidewalks and basically just everywhere! I began to hear more about this group but just ignored it since kpop just really wasn’t my style back then. I saw them around tv, on the news, newspapers and magazines and they just legit boomed during that time. My classmates went really crazy for them and I was still like, “Meh, those idiots aren’t even as famous as One Direction”.

Then came Overdose and EXO boomed even more but I still ignored. I saw them on TV when they had their first concert on Manila, they were on the headlines for singing a very famous filipino song called “Hawak Kamay” and was praised a lot by people and impressed some elders for that. ugh such an iconic time says my exo-l self who missed a lot during that time

Tons and tons and TONS of EXO merchandise were around the Philippines and everyone I see was always wearing them! Although some were not aware of who EXO was, the name EXO and the members numbers were a big fashion hit here in the Philippines. I always saw WOLF 88 printed on their shirts, some with the other members numbers and printed names like shit they still are a big fashion hit here in the Philippines until now.

Moving on, I didn’t hear much about EXO during the Call Me Baby era but I still saw them on tv and online. I kind of faded away from 1D since Zayn left lmao lol iconic time but I still liked the band and their music and all. After I faded away from 1D I was addicted to anime and became an animaniac lol. This isn’t much of an important part of my story so I’ll fast forward.

Fast forward to when I was like in the middle of high school, I have a friend who was a kpop fan since 3rd grade according to what she said, and as I’ve mentioned, ever since before I used to listen to a few kpop songs and I forgot how but I did discover Jay Park on tv and then listened to his music and had a huge crush on him for about 2 years before I became a kpop fan (i still listen to him now i luv his music) and then I listened to some of Taeyang’s music (ofc Eyes,Nose, Lips), with which I had no idea was part of legit the biggest kpop band in the world until I was tempted to listen to some BB songs and secretly listened to Growl when my sister wasn’t watching lmao because who doesn’t like that song???, So back to my point, my friend whom I never knew was a die-hard kpop fan since 3rd grade, was always silent since understandably not much of my friends were kpop fans when I first entered high school.

This part is for me, a hilariously pathetic excuse since this is the time I started being a kpop fan:

It was when we were tackling about the Music of Korea in class, our book had SNSD, Red Velvet, SUJU, 2NE1, and Wonder Girls and had a fun fact part about Dara since she’s called the Pambansang Krung-Krung (”krung krung” is a filipino slang which means foolish weird or crazy and “pambansang” meaning national so she’s legit called the National Weirdo of the Philippines lmao nothing offensive btw dont take it srsly) here in the PH. So after our class, our teacher told us to prepare a dance or a song in korean and put us in groups and I was a group leader since, not to brag, I’m pretty good at singing lmao, I got a little excited over the thought that we would probably sing Eyes Nose Lips or dance Growl and Fantastic Baby like that was already awesome for me. I had a friend who was really good at dancing so I assigned her to help out learning the choreo with me and I searched for what we were gonna present. I ended up choosing Come Back Home by 2ne1, EXO’s Growl and Good Boy by GD and TY. We didn’t have much time for practicing so we just dropped Growl and mashed up Good Boy and Come Back Home.

But while we were practicing our dance, we considered Growl and I downloaded the dance practices for our chosen songs, me and my group watched the choreos carefully and guess what? While watching the Growl dance practice, I suddenly felt weird while watching this EXO member I never noticed before. I asked my kpop friend about it, and I eventually found out this little cute boy was Baekhyun. He wasn’t my bias though, my first EXO bias was Tao but after I found out there were 3 members who left the group and Tao was one of them, I became sad. Tao wasn’t my ub tho.

After our presentations in class, when I got home I suddenly itched to search for EXO some more. I mean it wouldn’t hurt to know about them right? And so I searched and started watching interviews and watched EXO Showtime since people had recommended that watching that would be a good start for a new fan. I din’t watch all the ep’s of EXO Showtime but I did watch the famous episodes of the show, including the last EP which was when I suddenly fell head over heels for the fucking maknae Oh Sehun.

After that, Sehun just became my universal bias, and then I watched Monster and fell in love, and then I became their biggest fan after just one month. Always keeping up with updates, following all the members who had IG accounts, and officially became an EXO-L just when I celebrated with other EXO-L’s online during Yixing’s birthday last year when What U Need? MV came out and then eventually Yixing became my biggest bias wrecker ever.

I’ve only been an EXO-L for seven months, but I have memorized almost every lyric of all their albums and have downloaded every album on my phone. I know all their birthdays and their facts and their ideal types and I’ve memorized some choreos of their songs, I havent’t met them yet but I’m positive to see them before Xiumin’s military enlistment this 2019.

I’ve realized there’s nothing wrong with trying something new out, EXO became a big inspiration for my life, they made me change into a more hard working person. Because of them I actually considered not giving up my dreams of becoming a singer and because of them I actually learned to appreciate dancing lmao. They’ve helped me into focusing on my studies and suprisingly my grades went higher ever since I entered a new life of being a kpop fan.

I explored kpop a bit more after becoming an EXO-L, I also joined the BTS Army fandom shortly after becoming an EXO-L and after seven months of being a kpop fan I legit stan a lot of groups and singers now. I’m a multifandom girl now even tho EXO is my bias group.

I stan BTS, Seventeen, NCT, KARD, 2NE1, BIGBANG, BLACKPINK, DEAN, Red Velvet, GOT7, Jay Park and Heize. I know almost 500 kpop groups and I know a lot about the history of kpop and I know how to speak average Korean now and its only been seven months lol.
