This is just a reminder that I do not allow any reuploads of Art Heist, Baby! onto any other platform. Art Heist, Baby! lives on ao3 and ao3 exclusively.

Really upset to find out that people who have messaged me privately on here asking to upload Art Heist onto other platforms just went ahead and did it anyway when I politely asked for them to keep my work on ao3. Even after I explained why I wasn't comfortable uploading it to other sites.

I could go into the details of how sites like wattpad are for-profit companies and are naturally inclined to favor whatever makes them the most amount of money even if it's at the expense of writers and I could go into my own issues with those sites capitalising off of writer's creative output/hobby etc. etc. (not to mention the reuploads were not tagged and didn't include chapter warnings at all 🤠) but the point is I shouldn't have to.

You (in a very general but also pejorative sense) should respect my decision to keep Art Heist on ao3. I realize that uploading something to the internet means that I put myself at risk of losing control of my content but come on, y'all. It's in my pinned post and I've told people multiple times to not reupload my fic anywhere else. It's my fic, and my writing, and I don't think it's too much to ask to keep it to ao3.

Anyway, I've already reached out to the people who have posted my fic elsewhere and corrected the issue, but I thought I would go ahead and make it abundantly clear that Art Heist, Baby! is for ao3 and ao3 only in the hopes that this issue doesn't arise again!

Gideon had been acting..strange lately. The league noticed, his employees noticed, even he noticed ! But, nobody could seem to pinpoint what exactly it was.

He had been going out more, being a little bit less harsh on certain people, and the biggest thing people noticed was the amount of flowers around now. Of course nobody dared to ask, heavens no ! But still, it was strange. It’s not like he was a big fan of the flowers himself, but for some reason he had so many around.

Eventually, it had started as a routine. Day after day he would do the exact same thing ! Saying he needs to go do something ‘important’ out, taking his leave, and ending up in the local flowershop. But why ? Its not like he was there for the flowers, no. He had a better reasons.

He walks in, his mind somewhere else before hearing something that completely snapped him out of it. A simple, “Good morning, Mr, Graves!”

The nice owner, thats what he was here for! How could we forget? How could he forget such a nice boy, the same boy who helps him every day no matter how many questions he asks or how many times he ends up repeating them. He even remembered his name! Not by the fact that he’s THE Gideon Graves, but by the fact that he comes in every day to his shop !

Will he ever admit its for him? Maybe later. But right now? Certainly not ! He can’t lose such a ‘friendship’ with this lovely boy he’s met ! For now, he simply comes in, looking for him at the desk in the front. Asking things such as “How do I take care of these?” or “What type of flowers would go best with this event ?” . Simple things to hide the fact that he’s only there to see him and to hear him talk.

After about an hour of mindless questions and small talk, he comes home, once again with a boquet of flowers in hand. He couldn’t help it ! He HAD to buy flowers every time he’d go in there, or he’d leave feeling a bit bad. So, there he goes, grabbing another empty vase and putting some water in it, then placing the flowers inside.

He sighed, looking around at all the flowers he now had. How long could he keep this up ? How long could he push his feelings for this boy away and just keep going and buying flowers, never making a move?

It honestly didn’t take long, he was running out of room for flowers and was so head over heels he couldn’t help himself anymore.

Though, for the first time he couldn’t help but feel a bit afraid. Would you like him? I mean yeah, he does have quite the name and ego, not to mention the billions he has in cash, but would you really find him attractive? He guessed he’d just have to find out.”

He spent about a week thinking about this.

Infact, he spent the whole time trying to distract himself, he had forgotten to go to the flowershop. After the week, he had finally decided to go say something. Thats when he remembered. He spent the whole week away from YOUR presence after being there non-stop for a few months!

Now he was really worried. He probably made you sick thinking something must have happened since he stopped coming for a whole week!

So, off he went! Sprinting down the street to the flowershop, holding on to his glasses for life. His plan? Say everything through a letter. He couldnt get himself to say it to your face, no matter how big of an ego he had.

He comes in, pushing the door open, almost falling over as he catches his breath before looking up. And there you were, making direct eye contact with him as you out new fresh flowers in a certain section.

“Mr. Graves! There you are! I was wondering where you’d been.” You say, giving him that same, sweet smile.

“Please..call me Gideon.” He says, closing the door behind him as he comes in entirely. “I have something..a bit more important for you this time.” “Anything! What do you need, Gideon?” He liked how you had listened without a question.

“I need a boquet of roses, the best ones you’ve got, and I need you to put this letter in there. But, I’d like you to read it first.” He says, handing the note to him. “I need these by 5 p.m today, and I’d like for you to write me a reply on the letter of what you think.”

With that he mutters a “Thank you” and runs out quickly, not even giving you a chance to respond.

You stand there, a bit dumbfounded. But, there was no need to go chase him down and question him. It seemed simple enough. So, you grab the roses, picking the best ones as he’d asked. Then, the letter.

You grab the letter, opening it slowly, then is when you get met with something..suprising.

“Sorry about the leave, I couldn’t be here for this. All these visits were never about the flowers, it was about you. I wanted to get closer, but never knew how. I’ve liked you for all these months, and never knew how to truely say it. You were always too kind, and quite the handsome man too, giving me that smile every day I walked in, no matter how clueless I was about anything. Especially the flowers. But you always listened to me. But, I do love you and everything you do a lot. And I would love to have you by my side. Because to me, you’re better than any boquet.”

i say, this is why we have to be able to think for ourselves and not just listen to everything people say online. lol bc... youre like... not wrong (and i know a lot of people aint gonna like me for saying that lmfao)

but i remember when nd started to gain popularity and how some accs were SWEARRRRINNNG it has nothing to do w loa and how dare anyone confuse the two. and im just sitting there reading like o___O but theyre literally interwined. and i get why people would want to totally seperate the two, bc no one ever says it, but i think loa scarred/traumatized a lot of us.

its like when everyone first switched from loattraction to loassumption and were like ewww theyre not the same thing dont get them confused !! but it was bc 90% of people at the time had been failed by loattraction and felt like loass was the solution they had been looking for lol and yet, they are the same in ending, different in practice. teaching the same point, in different ways. two different paths with the same destination. nd is like this.

nondualism skips to what the point of loass is, which a lot of people dont see bc they associate loass with manifesting ur desires and that is the ~mainstream~ idea of it. but it is a popular misunderstanding. anyone who has mastered loass has simultaneously succeeded in what nd teaches. with an actual understanding of what loass is, it was never about getting ur desires. it was always about reaching "the promise"... however, people tend to focus much more on the manifesting part, which isnt a problem in loass. its a problem in the people who decided to teach loass. but that was kinda the point. if it werent for knowing about being able to get ur desires, a lot of people wouldnt have listened. but it brought us here, and nd gets to focus on the actual point. the promise. the thing is that manifesting desires has been grossly focused on, and skews the point of loass. lol

the thing is, nd focuses on the end "goal" entirely, so they seem to be different to people who have a mainstream understanding of loass. and there's also semantics, which is entirely fair. for some people, the way loass is explained doesnt click but nd does. and thats why it can make sense to group it seperately, bc they are taught differently. however, once again, you have two different routes leading to the same destination. its not that complicated, but for some reason ppl like to complicate it by calling it a whole new thing. theyre all so delicately intertwined though, and i think thats great. bc we're all different people and we will respond and understand things differently.

so many different roads, simply to lead us back to who we truly are, to wake up from this dream and experience the true self.

imagine an alternate universe where jinwoo and jinchul started dating after Kang taeshiks death. So,I wonder how it will affect the story and happy ending prepare actually.

Aint that just canon but no rewind? (im delusional) anyways while i dont have a lot of opinions over taeshik x jinwoo or jinchul x taeshik (despite my love for it, especially after ragnarok) well for once it will definetly be interesting that jinwoo had to kill taeshik during the prisoners arc, like if they had been dating beforehand (bc taeshik likes the fact that he can outlast death so many times or smth, i have more to say but it will go into spoiler town) and just now jinwoo found out his job, then it will put them at conflictive stance where jinwoo had slowly become that person he loves and also hates. It probaly would eat him up knowing that not only was he closed to taeshik but also inherited some of his assasin traits at the end of the day. And then Jinwoo falling in love with jinchul later on would probably also put the latter to be anxious because he doesnt want Jinwoo to end up as psychopathic as Taeshik had once been. It would certainly be fun to explore more of those inherent similarities with Taeshik and Jinwoo, assasins in their own way liking the slaughter of others, but differentiate when it comes to what kind of slaughter, Taeshik he likes killing peoplle whereas Jinwoo likes killing magic beasts. And how, if it wasn't for that small difference he would have ended to be as psychotic or as heroic as the other is placed out to be.

That whole 'two sides of the same coin' kind of theme is what could have gone well, and what could have also led Jinwoo to ask himself just how far he is willing to kill, and if-- the longer his emotions keep fading and he more his blood lust for humans becomes rampant-- such actions could one day come turn him over to a new leap and end up with him becoming the villain of what he once tried to protect.

There certainly are some pieces there that make Jinwoo loose that sense of empathy as the stories go on. And this isnt to defend anyone but rather just see it from another perspective on how Jinwoo slowly drifts apart from reasonably thinking to committing the justice he thinks is deserved of what he views, no matter the cost or what others may think. (Guess I could say he slowly begins to act more and more selfish because he has already been ruthlessly hurt by those around him.)

From the very beginning his trust is broken by Mr Kim, and the fights with the Lizards and Taeshik are all justified as him trying to protect his life, and none of the others seem to be less justified as well, but theres a point in the story, The International conference, where Jinwoo doesn't really care about cooperation and rather would take things on by himself if it means his family is protected. (Yes, showing weakness at that conference would have been bad, but I don't really think a lot of people would have been down for killing another hunter right now, especially against the one who decimated Thomas and sent him straight to the ER. So no, that little exposition of 'I will kill anyone here who touches my family' would have caused literally the whole world more problems than actually solve them.) or if it means he can place judgement on others like how he did at the side stories with the murder case. And again, that isn't to defend any of the criminals or the people that tried to mess with him, but rather its to say that we, or humans really, have laws, and the enforcement on them for a reason. Jinwoo, for the most part lived in a world that was lawless, as it was said by the lizards, no one would know what happens when you die, so Jinwoo and other hunters had to make their own justice by themselves.

But those psychological differences and Jinwoo's own similarities to Taeshik were just swept under the rug pretty fast in favor of "well the others where shit" instead of taking the time to show that "hey, maybe Jinwoo's one solution methods of killing those he hates might not be so well when you consider that he could impose his own morals or opinions into others by force of death since everyone in the world has biases and often negates or lacks the information to change their view, and that isn't any different for Jinwoo. So instead of killing he could at least approach the subjects with a bit of more self control and finding a better solution that isn't *checks the side stories* fucking sending them to the shadow realm to be tortured."

And going bac kto the post that it was talking about (DAMMIT I RANTED OFF TOPIC) Jinchul could serve to reinforce that point by showing Jinwoo that yes, there is a system that will take care of those who threaten him and take advantage of others (KHA) and that there will be people to also judge his actions which he has to take into account more and more as he begins to loose his own emotions. Someone that could be there to protect him from, quite literally the biggest threat he has ever faced, which end up being Jinwoo's own self and the responsibility that comes with controlling death itself.

some ramble-y thoughts on men's social isolation and women's safety bc this has been on my mind for a bit

I do think it's really sad how men end up feeling so isolated bc of various social expectations as well as people being cruel, but as a fem presenting person I have to say that you can't just expect women and anyone who is fem presenting to just "start being nicer". ive seen a few posts on Tumblr essentially stating that but I have to reiterate it is about safety. I literally cannot afford to stop looking at men with caution and assumed violence until I get to know them really well bc if I stop that could genuinely cost me me life. its true that most men I see probably are not predators and im sure it hurts to be perceived that way, but I have no way of being able to tell who is and isn't going to harm me. I have to assume the worst because it is the only way I can stay safe.

it sucks, it really does, for all parties involved. I have so much sympathy for the men who are genuinely kind and would never hurt me that feel isolated, it isn't fair, and I myself certainly don't enjoy the *necessary* fear that the random guy im passing on the street could see me and decide to hurt me, but this is the reality of the world. there is no easy solution, but what certainly isn't a solution is expecting women to start being kinder to men they dont know because once again: that could genuinely cost someone their life.

The best solution right now I think is to continue to try to deconstruct misogyny and gender roles, and that takes time, patience, and understanding.

I have also seen the notion on here that men feeling isolated socially is misandry, but the reality is that misandry is simply not real on a systemic scale. men feeling isolated is a direct result of the patriarchy and a side affect of misogyny. a lot of things on this website that are perceived as misandry are either not real problems or they are but they're just the impacts of misogyny and the gender roles that come with it.

But it is very surreal to be walking alone at night, clutching my pepper spray and glaring whenever a man I don't know is near me, making sure to stay next to the street and make it obvious I know exactly where I'm going and still feeling the fear that it might not be enough and something horrible could happen to me anyway, only come back to Tumblr and see people saying misandry is just as prevalent as misogyny and women need to start considering how it feels for men to be looked at like they're predators. Touch grass seems like an applicable statement here.

oh and obligatory piss on the poor tumblr disclaimer: I know I am using binary terms so before any of you get on your high horse about it, I myself am non binary. I am not actually a woman, but I certainly look like one and therefore deal with misogyny. I fully understand that trans men and genderqueers of all kinds as well as even feminine cis men also fear for their life on the street so dont even think abt getting on my ass about that. oh and if any of you try to call this a terf post consider yourself blocked with a recommendation to get a refresh on what terf actually means instead of just throwing around the term when you see any post trying to talk about misogyny :D

hi again!!! you must have the patience of a saint for waiting so long, but yes hello i am here and i have been DYING to answer your ask and once again i stuck it under a read more bc what is concise wording??? idk her shes not here we only ramble here! warnings for excessive over-explanation and the obsessive thoughts of someone who has been in this stupid fandom for way, way too long.

i also wanted to address the super sweet notes you wrote on your original ask that had me smiling like an absolute fool, btw!!!! so first off: THANK YOU AND IM SO GLAD YOU AGREE!!!!! listen, the canon dynamic between these two has always given me a very severe case of brain rot, and the ways in which that dynamic can be removed from canon and smacked into any au is just soooooo juicy. and while yes i do adore airhead spain with all my heart, i do see it as very reductive to his character and who he actually is. and this also kinda bleeds into answering this ask, so yay! two birds one stone!

my entire thing with these two is the fact that spain is, at his core, an empire. god, gold, glory. that was his whole thing, ruthlessly so. and while yes i do believe the nations dont personify their governments and instead represent the best of their people, it would be foolish to ignore what it means for spain (and antonio) to be the spanish empire, bloody, greedy, damned, troubled, all of it. and that bleeds a lot into how i imagine antonio to be!

antonio (and spain) will always carry a lot of guilt to me. he acts sweet and bubble and sunshiny, and i do think he genuinely is that way naturally, but a lot of it is also an attempt to distance himself from what he used to be, either from guilt, from wanting others to forget, or for whatever reason. who he is in current day is not who he was, but its still there and it is something he grapples with constantly. so, in the vein of my pirate au, antonio as a pirate is someone who is angry.

hes angry at the world, hes angry at his government, hes angry at the state of life for anyone who isnt wealthy and born into generational status, hes angry at the favoritism, at the restrictions, at everything. hes someone who wants freedom. spain as a character doesnt like to be restrained, hated his forced job of folding flowers, hated he couldnt do more when he was once so powerful (to the point where america even said anytime spain was near him hed try and hit him with his knees, so clearly he knows how to hold a grudge) and antonio would feel a lot of resentment to the state of the world as it exists around him but unable to change it—until he can

and lovino, who is angry but for so many other reasons. lovino, who is born into a gilded cage that he cant even touch, lovino, whose entire life was built around his younger (legitimate) brother who will one day inherit everything his grandfather passes on that lovino cannot have, even if they do love him, even if they do cherish him and give him an education and steady work and a comfortable life. but thats not enough, and why would it be? his name is worthless in this society. he barely exists outside of his small family, and whenever he's there, there is always the elephant in the room of none of this is mine, none of this will ever be mine. so yes hes angry, hes resentful, but hes also stuck. where can he go, realistically, when this is all hes ever known? and he loves his family. hes loyal, hes caring, he adores his family. he just also resents them because they are everything he can never be. (and i do throw seborga into the brothers. they are a trio to me and they always will be!)

so when they meet, when antonio sees this little angry brat with so much pent up aggression start barking insults at him in front of his own crew, how can he not be fascinated by that? and he sees someone wearing a shiny family crest of a prominent venetian family, and its so easy to him. take him, maybe teach him some respect, dump him in italy, get some money, and fuck off to the ocean again for the next prize.

and it would work if they both werent so fucking stupid at the same time. bc just like romano and spain, these two are two sides of the same dumb ass spectrum. angry and hopeful with different styles of attachment that fit just perfectly enough to make it feel clandestine. two people who could just so happen to understand where the other is coming from, with enough understanding to get it. and suddenly theyre not so different after all, are they, considering they both got screwed over in life, forced into roles they didnt want until someone gave them an out, until they give each other an out.

and then it becomes a lot less about stealing from the world and keeping it for themselves as it is giving each other the world, wealth and riches that belong to them and them alone, an open ear and willing hands and the understanding that antonio would rip the stars from the sky and temper raging oceans for lovino if he asked, hoping only for lovino to love him in return and choose to stay, to seek freedom and something different.

its entirely selfish and dangerous and doomed to fail from the start, which we as people in 2024 know, but its romantic in its desperation and honest in how actual real life pirates were furious with their lives and were entirely fucked over after the war of spanish succession, and while yes most of those pirates were english (and arthur is a big player in this story too, obvi), spain did have its fair share, esp in retaliation to what the english were doing to spanish treasure ships.

yessss i love to whine and complain <3 plus ive had a lot of time to Reflect and Marinate on the season so i think these thoughts will be more coherent than some of the stuff i was posting directly after it came out. here we go <3

biggest overall complaint is steve's storyline taking a sharp left turn back into stancy territory. before anyone sends me a why dont you like stancy ask: stancy itself isn't even the reason i disliked this storyline! (also they arent compatible and want different things and its canonically stated like 5 different times in the show) but the Main reason i disliked steve's writing this season was that it largely undermined the value of his relationships with other people. season two established that steve would willingly put himself in harm's way for the kids both against billy and in the tunnels, and season three went on to establish that steve feels the most comfortable when he's hanging out with robin and dustin and just being himself, free from social expectations. all of these discoveries that we worked up to since season one were basically just forgotten in this season. steve is annoyed with dustin, annoyed about staying with the kids, gets injured and only has a meaningful interaction with nancy while robin just walks off screen, doesn't get a single emotional interaction with dustin about the danger they're in or the trauma they're undergoing even after eddie fuckin DIES and overall i just felt like he wasn't acting like himself in terms of his relationships with other people, and this to me seems like an issue with the duffers wanting to prioritize a love triangle once again

i also just have issues with the plot writing as a whole. soooooo many glaring mistakes that just do not seem typical of a stranger things season! ive seen people say "well what did we expect" NOT THIS?? idk from small details like will's birthday and hopper apparently just lying on the floor completely unscathed to larger overall bad writing like eddie's death being absolutely pointless and no one talking about it afterwards, the season somehow feels rushed? even though it was 2x as long as any other season and they had three years to write it? how do you have a 2 hr 30 min episode and not a single scene where the people who spent all season protecting eddie don't get together and talk about his death. that's just...unfathomable to me

out of the four storylines in volume one, two of them were like unbearably boring to me. im so sorry. it got to the point where every time it cut away from hawkins i would text em "FUCKKK" because they were far and away the most compelling story. i always predicted the russia plotline would be boring like the second s3 ended i said oh boy thats gonna be boring. but the HNL storyline......was somehow even more boring. and i love el! i liked venry as a villain! i LOVE JAMIE CAMPBELL BOWER but jesus christ is brenner a redundant boring ass character who's always entering the frame sneakily and saying some shit like "eleven......the virus inside you is spreading.....you are an evil evil little girl" like JESUS dude we get it. idk ive never found his character nearly as interesting as the show seems to think he is, and i think spending this much time with him this season was honestly a mistake! so glad he's dead rip. i also wasn't a fan of the stretched out bullying plotline because it was very cartoonish to me and also just like. not necessary. we already know el feels alienated. watching her get shoved to the ground and have a milkshake spilled on her precious little dress just felt like kicking her while she was down

anyways theres a lot this season did well! quite honestly, it all falls apart in the last episode. without the mistakes made there, it would have been so much stronger. but alas i fear it's my least favorite season of stranger things so far because of these issues </3 to me there were times where i was like "am i really watching stranger things right now??" because the writing choices were just so bizarre and uncharacteristic of the show as a whole. praying season 5 is better but i have a strong feeling season 2 will always reign supreme

sorry the bit abt souls in kagepro drives me crazy. we dont know it with any other snakes other than awakening/konoha and haruka(and saeru but we dont talk abt it). the ending of mca is MESSY messy. personally i dont know if i Really understand it, I've always explained it to myself like konoha/awakening GETS ITS OWN wish bc despite being just a snake, it became its own person, and its wish is to have hiyori live which is how saeru "dies" bc it has to resign to be a surrogate life for hiyori right?? its never explained Why konoha gets a wish but that's it to me. awakening and retaining being opposites bc one is a snake that became a person and the other a person who became a snake.

anyways coming back to the soul thing, it's rly all in haruka and konoha's situation bc konoha becomes its own person, "gains a soul" lets say, and that very soul puts it in conditions of making a wish. haruka was the only one in the daze who wasn't PHYSICALLY there, and his wish never finished getting there bc awakening was like My body now. <- like this is so interesting there's a lot of potential to konoha being even more interesting, maybe being a snake that's always wanted its own body or something. i KNOW its bc haruka's personality wasn't strong for it but that's an ass explanation and it always has been😘

anywyas so haruka coming back by the end to me is explained thru his wish being Actually listened to and konoha retreating back to its original role though it is still a person. i think it becomes a case of reverse, from str onwards it is konoha watching through haruka instead of the other way around. this is kinda the logic behind why ive always loved the konoha reborn hc... with the whole soul thing. like konoha finally cutting ties with being a snake and not being awakening anymore, just konoha!!

since you've seen catws over 30 times, can you give a summary of the plot? I've actually seen the movie multiple times, but gun to my head I cannot explain the flow of events. I press play and am transported to pure vibes. so i'd like to consider you an expert and helo me with my dilema.

this is so funny yeah i can try. edit: essentially this is not a summary i realized three paragraphs in that i am delivering a play by play with commentary of everything that happens in this movie. im still doing it though sorry

 so basically steve has been adjusting to life in the 21st century and is really struggling with it. hes moved to dc to work for shield, which he understands to be a department that helps folks (which is a dumb thing to assume of any government affiliated organization LOL they were also majorly manipulating him on top of that from the get go so double whammy but ya ya i digress) while on a run, he makes friends with sam wilson, who unlike basically anyone else in the 21st century so far is the only guy to treat him as a normal guy/what he actually is (a veteran w ptsd that 1 lost his best friend 2 has been thrown into a whole new world with no help at all and that the war was literally like what? barely 2 years ago for him?)

anyway after he meets sam he is picked up by nat and they go on a mission with brock rumlow and several shield agents. this mission takes place on a ship in the middle of the ocean where several shield agents are being held hostage by french speaking terrorist dudes. steve (the smart cookie) is like why the hell are shield guys in the middle of the ocean? anyway he thinks hes leading this mission (he is not) and tells everyone what to do to save these hostages (which isnt even the actual mission at all). inevitably this comes to light when he sees nat trying to save some data from the ships computers, as that was HER secret mission. steve is fucking pissed as hell about this and then they got blown up and shit by the french pirates. they get out fine tho

moving on steve confronts fury like. why the hell are the people IM trying to lead being given different info and instructions than me? and fury is like let me tell u about something. and then he tells them about project insight, which is this thing that shield is planning to launch that will be able to basically insta kill any body in the entire world they identify as a threat (threat being vague enough bc well as we can see we learned nothing from basically any part of history at all) before the person can act on their "intended crimes". steve is pissed again bc like who are these guys to determine who is a "threat"? how do you define that? like his iconic line here (iconic 2 me that is) is him saying "this isnt freedom this is fear" cause like it is. losers

and moving on from that we've got a kind of suspicious fury trying to decrypt the data he had nat retrieve. this is presumably bc fury as we know is apparently 5 steps ahead of every fucking body and was already having some concerns about project insight (which again i must say as an aside. any normal person would be concerned.). fury being the head of shield is one of the only individuals who should have total clearance on all shield decisions and projects etc. however, he finds that he does NOT have clearance to access this data. he takes this concern to alexander pierce, the secretary of state is like omg weird :) how weird bro sure i can ask about delaying the project but if ur asking me bro i dont think the other govt bigwigs we got in on this will want to!

anyway moving on once more fury is officially like ok wtf is going on. and is going to meet up with hill. BUT THEN. explody violence killing blah blah blah all these cops and swat members are after him! HIM! HEAD OF SHIELD! how strange! and furys like doin all this shit trying to escape but then his car gets exploded. and oh shit. theres this guy. hes got a mask on. HE WAS THE ONE THAT EXPLODED THE CAR! and hes kind of sexy. and hes approaching. and fury the crazy bitch has used some sort of laser cutter thing to carve a hole through the ground and escape. the absolute legend.

cut to steve going home. he runs into his neighbor who has told him that hes a nurse or some shit. he flirts with her bc hes trying to make a normal life for himself i guess and do normal girl things like date. anyway neighbor girl is like oh btw i think u left or record player on? music has been playing for a while and shit. and steve is immediately like omg rly haha? BUT HE KNOWS HE DIDNT LEAVE THAT SHIT ON BRO! HE KNOWS. and he enters with his guard all up and BOOM theres fury. steve is like wtf are you doing here??? and fury is like SHHHH. bro things are happening its crazy. shield compromised, eyes everywhere, people are listening, the whole shebang man. and steve is like???? wtf dude? and fury gives him a flash drive. AND THEN FURY IS SHOT THROUGH THE WINDOW. CRAZY AS HELL. and NEIGHBOR LADY BREAKS IN. TURNS OUT SHES NOT NEIGHBOR LADY. SHES A SHIELD OPERATIVE THAT IS COVERTLY ASSIGNED TO PROTECT STEVE.

now we got steve chasing over the assailant with his cool tell them im in pursuit line. steve chases this dude across buildings and shit and throws his shield at him when they reach the end of a rooftop. then HOLY FUCK THE GUY. HES CAUGHT THE SHIELD. THIS DUDE JUST CAUGHT A VIBRANIUM SHIELD WITH A COOL ROBOT ARM! OK!

moving on fury is on the operating table and he straight up dies there with maria and nat and steve watching. and i dont wanna look it up but i think here is when steve hides the flash drive in a vending machine behind some gum for some fucking reason. why the hell that would be a good place to hide it idk. anyway steve is summoned to pierce and pierce with his robert redford charm is like so :) anything u wanna tell me. and steve is like. :) no lol. and then he leaves and we’ve got the cool ass elevator scene where steve is with an elevator full of hydra agents and has to fight them all, including brock rumlow from the hostage ship scene at the beginning. he escapes and goes back to get the flash drive and nat has gotten it and blows a bubble in his face cause shes sexy like that. and they have their little moment where he shoves her against a wall and is all up in her face being like WHAT DO YOU KNOW WHATS GOING ON. and nat reveals that she knows who the guy is. the winter soldier. she met him on a mission where she was trying to protect some dude and the WS shot the person THROUGH HER. bye bye bikinis she quips. dw nat ur still sexy 2 me.

they leave and essentially go to a mall have their fake/pretend relationship ao3 moment and use a mall tech shop computer to figure out whats on the flashdrive, which is coordinates to a base. steve is like uMMMMM WTF. I DID BASIC THERE. and they go and discover that theres a SECRET SHIELD BUNKER WITH THIS HUGE ANCIENT ASS SUPERCOMPUTER. AND TO MAKE IT WORSE ON THE COMPUTER IS THE STORED CONSCIOUSNESS OF ARNIM ZOLA NAZI HYDRA SCIENTIST. and zola tells them he was recruited by shield where he helped secretly embed hydra iinto the entirety of the organization and the WS was an assassin they used to kill ppl like howard stark. and then a missile tries to blow them up after zolas gotten out enough cheeky lines and they barely escape with their lives

then: ENTER BIG SEXY. its sam wilsons time to fucking shine when nat and steve go to him for help. sam is like alright lets go and they get his falcon suit. they go and nab jasper sitwell a hydra mole and make him reveal hydra info, ie that hydra has been collecting info on threats to their evil doings (hello duh). then theyre driving and WHAM goodbye sitwell, motherfuckers yanked out the car by the WS. cue huge epic fight scene, best in the mcu if you ask me, where steve and WS end up going head to head and he accidentally rips WS' mask off, revealing BUCKY BARNES, the supposed to be dead bestie of steve rogers. steve says bucky? bucky says. who the hell is bucky? with his sexy underused voice. my beloved.

anyway steve is in an extreme state of shock and bucky, unnerved, runs, and steve sam and nat are all arrested. steve has his new mission acquired moment whereas nat and sam are like man idk.... hes kind of yknow a renowned insane murder machine. steve is like you literally do not get it. hes my fucking cinnamon apple you assholes. i will kill this whole world for him. and they are like damn steve ok AND THEN. VIOLENCE IN THE FUCKING SWAT VEHICLE WHEN ONE SWAT MEMBER STARTS ATTACKA KILLING THE OTHER ONES. and boom thats actually maria hill in disguise. shes like whats up yall. theyre like um. anyway she takes them to FURY, who is ACTUALLY STILL ALIVE AND JUST FAKED HIS DEATH. fury is like you guys have to stop this shit. here are some chips to replace the ones on the helicarriers that will fuck up hydras plans and make the helicarriers only target each other

moving on its time to fuck shit up. the world security council has shown up to see to the launch of project insight. except NAT IS ONE OF THE WSC IN DISGUISE and she disarms pierce. then fury shows up like hiiii hello in a way that actually doesnt feel super dramatic cause they watch him land and then walk all the way inside like ok. by the time hes there not even super anticlimactic but whatever. anyway fury makes pierce leak all of shields classified info (including nat’s criminal past as part of the red room but shes like its fine its necessary etc) so that ppl know about hydra. and fury shoots and kills pierce bye bye pierce

steve is at this time recruiting all the “good” shield guys and fighting all the hydra agents with sam while trying to get to the helicarriers. they get the first two no prob but before they can do the third one bucky shows up newly mindwiped and fights them super much. he destroys sams suit leaving the fight to just buck and steve. meanwhile brock and sam are fighting slash running and this ends with brock getting exploded to shit and sam jumping into a helicopter to escape from the building. meanwhile bucky and steve are still on the third helicarrier. steve is like babe this isnt u…… come back 2 me……. im with u til the end of the line……. and refuses to fight back and buck is like UMMM WHAT THE FUCK. SHUT THE HELL UP YOU WEIRDO STOP TALKING IM FREAKIN OUT and beats steve the fuck up. during this fight the ship is exploded and steve falls off the ship and into the potomac with bucky watching him fall with his fist raised to land another punch

cut to steve going super under semi unconscious about to fucking drown and someone pulls him out. OH LOOK ITS BUCKY. oh damn hes leaving steve on the shore. goodbye bucky.

now we cut to all the hydra agents being arrested and nat appearing before court for her red room crimes. she is like you wont fucking arrest me you need me. im sexy and competent and you all suck. and theyre all like. yeah ok shes got a point. fury fucking burns all his shit and decides to go hunting hydra in europe, presumed dead by the world. sam is like heyyy steve. whats up. steve is like well. i know he just fucked me up but im gonna go find bucky. i gotta bc i am gay and in love with him and stuff. and sam is like damn. fine ill go too then. meanwhile brock is revealed to have lived though severely burned in the hospital

i am ignoring the mid credits scene bc i fucking hate that stupid bullshit. post credit scene slays though bc its bucky visiting his own memorial in the smithsonian and him being like well damn that is me. ok.

--His eye color is startlingly inconsistent- Sometimes they’re blue and pink, and sometimes just plain Purple. I think in life they were blue without the pink. here’s a visual complaint. i do like the purple but it’s not... correct?

--For the longest time I thought the make-up was permanent markings. In this house they’re permanent markings except when they’re not. 

-Santa Mephi could potentially lead to a Krampus situation, especially if he ends up in half again. I would accept this. I’d also accept getting a costume and being an elf for someone else. I just want him to get into a christmas event for more than 1 seconds. as cute as a lily mephi would be, his spirit origin wouldnt be strong enough to be on it’s own. these are less HCs and more commentary

--I drew mephi in his lab coat once here, take it, and yes that Is an alchemy circle on his neck. Tattoo from Papa Faust. That’s kept covered up 100% of the time. no touchy. (DID DRAW HIM AGAIN RECENTLY BUT NOT DONE YET)

-this is the absolute hardest take on here, but i dont think he (mephi the homunculus) killed faust. the innocent monster mephi (the demon) would take CREDIT for it, but he’s just acting in accordance to the myth that he caused it, like how salieri’s totally fucked up. who actually killed faust? idk. the church probably. stop summoning demons and making shit. thats not very churchgoing of you. unless faust himself asks, in which case mephi is free to say “no, i didnt!”. cause he didnt and he liked dad outside of the whole “killing people” thing. One of the few things hes serious about. (i don’t remember where i go that from. i think bc it sounded good. I genuinely don’t remember. something between the Pheles part and Philos (which is a name for a type of love, and also the name of a completely unrelated oc that has 0% to do with fate or any of this but. i think it was just bc it sounded good next to Faust or Faustus.)

update on above:  Philetos means beloved so THATS also probably where it came from. faust cared him so goddamn much.

-since he’s very much not human, getting sick is a bit easier for him than the average servant. he also doesnt drink booze for the same reason. 0 to 100 speedrun of a clown eating SHIT.

in reference to this post this might sound spicy and im only half awake so I hope it makes sense and i dont know if im wrong here as in I dont know if the D*ffers or whoever have said anything to make people think this or if this is just the read people are getting from the show, like idk what the d*ffers have said about billy in particular but in the case that its the read from the show I kinda didnt get the same read.

i mean with eddie i didnt see him dying bc he had to like idk act like a hero cos hed always been a coward i think that was the choice he made in particular for himself because thats how he personally felt and i think he mainly did it for dustin tbqh. imo, he was leading the demobats away from dustin but as for what point eddies death had in the narrative I think it was less that he didnt deserve a good life and more eddies death was a tragic commentary on what a god damn backwards 80s shit hole hawkins is. (like i know no one saw his sacrifice or anything but its real Small town America to be so assured that a disadvantaged teenager was the literal devil based on being kinda alternative and liking a fantasy tabletop rpg) For billy i dont see how it would be better if he made a youtuber apology for his problematic behavior before he died. I kinda think thats kinda chronically online and i think the way he did die was powerful enough in showing us he was never a monster? not to mention what we learned about him along the way like i said idk what the d*ffers have said but ??? And thats something I'm nearly positive theyre not gonna get bc im sure thats not the point of the show lol. like i think it would be weird if this did all have a happy ending bc ST is making so much very real direct 1 to 1 commentary on real life oppression & injustice & we all know damn well none of the issues with society st covers have magically disappeared. They certainly didnt go away bc a couple of super powered psychics had it out with each other across dimensions in 1986.

also as for BRENNER yeah i have seen people think his death was sad and was intended to redeem him and once again nope I saw it the complete opposite way. I think thats some kind of projection and i think this fandom is funny for being more willing to see brenner as sympathetic and redeemable than henry, his most damaged victim, but anyway imo brenner died in the dirt gaslighting eleven. he tried to save her quite clearly at that point for his own means, not because he actually cared about her (legit the entire ep of papa was spent showing us brenner was/is the "real" monster) and when he got popped he knew he was dying and still refused to let himself think he had lost so he tried to manipulate el into thinking he was doing it for her and he cared about her etc.

that was his last ditch dying attempt to take control and power over her. to "convince" her of his goodness. and it fucking failed so beautifully. that was the whole point of that scene. it wasnt about Brenner actually being a good guy. It certainly wasn't meant to be his redemption. its why eleven doesnt give him that satisfaction in death of thinking he pulled the wool over her eyes again in the end. she rejects him. flat out rejects his ass and he dies knowing he lost it all! its one of my fav scenes.

What I dont get is like. The people who think Izzy Deserves Worse... first off no he doesn't by any actions->punishment scale that isn't insane even for a grimmdark pirate genre this show isn't. Second why would you think it isn't extremely rude to tell people who like Izzy this??

(I think the first paragraph of this is referencing the person who said Izzy would get his comeuppance under one of my posts, that I replied to. If so, I want to clarify that they didn't actually mean it that way, and came back to explain as such. It was just a matter of miswording.)

People who come into Izzy Enjoyers' askboxes to bitch that he's The Worst baffle me. The first time I received an abusive ask about him I had simply mentioned him in passing on a Blackbonnet post (along with Jim and Lucius and at least one other). The second time was the same thing. It was clear that I liked him, else I wouldn't have included him, but I wasn't feral about him yet. It was only once I told the anon how wrong they were and deep-dived on Izzy's actual characterization in the show that I realized how much I loved him and how much he really didn't deserve all the shit he gets.

Then again, the anons I got after that post, one of them told me they hoped I got shanked for liking him, and I thought that was downright hilarious because they were wishing a pretty nasty death on me and meanwhile Izzy's (who they said was abusive and terrible) worst crime was he tried to get Stede mercifully executed. It was just very funny to me. They were acting like their perception of Izzy, which they deemed made me immoral because I like him. Makes me wonder what that says about them.

I think if the toe scene had been in Black Sails, it likely would have been a sexual assault (see: my comments on the framing of that scene) rather than the toe thing, which although wasn't contextually played for laughs, it was somewhat used as a... muppety, over the top thing that Ed comments on having done in the past? Because it's over the top and vaguely cartoonish, it becomes a lot less dire than what something like Black Sails would have done, and more fitting of the show. But even on something like Black Sails, what Izzy did receiving a punishment like that would have been something that-- Well, a bad guy did. Someone who our protagonists were actively fighting against. (I do respect OFMD for being willing to push Edward down that morality scale, with the faith to bring him back up, actually)

Calico Jack fit a purpose but he really was deeply irritating, and it wasn't helped at all by the fact I love Black Sails' Calico Jack, who is, and I have said this before, the only Black Sails character who could flounce into OFMD and fit right in, right along with his stupid little sunglasses and mullet.

And no, Calico Jack definitely doesn't deserve his toe cut off and fed to him for killing Karl (which was definitely deliberate. He did that on purpose. Whether he did it to push the crew to turn against Ed or whether he did it because he just enjoyed it, well, idk either way, but it was deliberate through and through).

I HOPE JACK IS ALIVE TOO ACTUALLY!! I want to see him and Izzy interact. More than that, I want to see him come back on board and Ed forgives him because eh, he forgave Izzy so he has to forgive Jack really, doesn't he, and it's all water under the bridge now isn't it, so you just end up with Ed going full jack-ass again with Jack, and Izzy and Stede off to the side, bonding against their will over how much they hate Jack.

I can just see it in my head, you know?

Stede: mm, i wonder Izzy: What Stede: What? oh, i didnt know you were there. no, i was just talking to myself. last time jack was here he said his last two crews mutinied and tied him to an anchor and threw him overboard, and i was just wondering-- Izzy: If it was true? This is precisely it, yeah. Idk if you saw this post but a nonnie asked why people try to say Izzy is so manipulative and I boiled it down to: if Izzy is Bad and Manipulative, Ed is free to be an uwu soft baby who has never done anything wrong himself, it's all been Izzy.

I think it probably just starts with people seeing the fact that a lot of us love Ed and Izzy's chemistry (and Izzy and Stede's!) and would love to see more of that chemistry, and thusly want to explore or write about it, or root for more to come of it in canon (look, I would love to see Ed and Izzy have a furious make out scene, okay? give me that, show, please. even if it was a flashback or something) and they feel threatened and afraid that this ship that they don't like might win out over their main ship.

I think a chunk of that fear comes from how accessible the writers are now? Back in Ye Olde Days if you wanted to tell David Jenkins how much you love Izzy, you'd have to write a letter or an email or something, and send that off as fanmail, and his secretary would probably read it, or his intern or whatever, and that intern or the studio execs or whatever would eventually be like, "You know, the fans really respond well to Izzy. It seems like having more Izzy and Con would be good for ratings."

But nowadays, I can go onto Twitter, @ david Jenkins and start yelling about how much I love Izzy and Blackhands, and there's a pretty good chance he'll read it. Con spends half his life yelling at tories and the other half of his life retweeting spicy Izzy art, a lot of which includes Blackhands or Steddyhands or even Gentlehands. It's very clear that the cast and crew and thusly also the writers are being exposed to this ship and its shippers, and I think that terrifies the kind of people who feel that those ships threaten their OTP's canonity. (Is that a word? Canonness? Canananananofnsnks)

I use Twitter and it really is a cesspit. What's funny though is on Twitter I've never been yelled at or sent abusive asks for daring to like a character, unlike here on Tumblr where I have received many, yet I feel much safer and more comfortable on Tumblr than I ever did on Twitter. Go figure.
