Since I’m officially done with the main guides to Stray Kids, I figured I’d do a couple fun guides, just for, well, fun. I wanted to start off with the dynamics between the boys. I’ve already talked about the three main rachas (3Racha, Danceracha, Vocalracha), but I thought it would be fun to talk a little about each friendship. (If you want to see even more about them, I’m going to have a playlist related to each post, and I currently have an ongoing dynamics series going on!) (There is 28 different pairings in this group, so they have to be broken up into multiple posts, lmao)

This post contains the following dynamics: Bang Chan and Changbin; Bang Chan and I.N.; Lee Know and I.N.; Changbin and Han; Changbin and Seungmin; Hyunjin and Felix; and Hyunjin and Seungmin.

*Sort of a disclaimer: Each pairing will have a little nickname/identifier attached to them. Most of them come from stays themselves, whether directly or indirectly, but some of them I kind of had to create on my own. They may not be super creative, but it is what it is, lmao.

Bang Chan and Changbin - ‘gym buddies’

like I mentioned in the bit about lee know and chan, both him and changbin are considered chan’s right and left hands. Much like lee know, changbin helps chan out a lot with the younger members.

even though these two didn’t meet until they were trainees, they always give me ‘friends since childhood’ vibes. there’s something about them that just clicks and seems comfortable, but they’re not super in your face with it. you can just tell they’re very close.

there is a lot of talk about soulmates within the group (or even the group as a whole, which is valid, honestly), but i don’t see it a lot with these two and i wish i did. i definitely think changbin and chan were meant to find each other.

they’re both extremely hardworking and reliable and kind of give off similar vibes sometimes

but they’re also huge dorks

arguably get teased the most out of the whole group, but don’t seem to mind. changbin has even stated he likes when the other members tease him and chan has said, very recently in fact, that if the teasing bothered him, he’d let the other boys know and they would stop.

Pairing name: Binchan (I’ve seen others, like 2chan, but this one seems to be the most popular and least confusing)

Bang Chan and I.N. - “father and son”

the oldest and youngest member, respectively

i wasn’t really sure what to have as their nickname, but i’ve seen this dynamic joked about a couple times and i thought it was funny

chan clearly adores I.N., and dotes on him. he’s constantly being affectionate with him and cuddling up to him

although it doesn’t really seem to be i.n.’s thing, he usually just let’s chan be all loving, lol. but he’s definitely one of the ones who teases chan the most, after seungmin.

i mentioned this in the previous post, but during an episode of the 9th, i.n. wrote a letter to chan because he was thankful for his help when he was a trainee. he’s also stated, although i can’t remember where exactly, that without chan’s help, he wouldn’t have debuted.

i.n. is actually the third member to join the group, after chan and han (or the second to be chosen by Chan, depending on how you look at it), at least that’s what i’ve seen. he would have been pretty young when he was chosen, so chan must have definitely seen tons of potential in him

Lee Know and I.N. - ‘the savage duo’

Seungmin is also part of the savage line, but him and Lee Know have a different dynamic nickname, you’ll see (i mention seungmin and lee know a lot. you’ll see why). these two are quick to tease and roast their fellow members at all times

but lee know is soft for i.n., don’t let him fool you. he’s soft for a lot of the younger members, just in different ways. with i.n., it almost seems like more of a older brother/mentor kind of soft.

they did a couple covers together on their manic tour and their voices sound so wonderful together. i linked my personal favorite in lee know’s post, but here’s a funnier one (but still good! mostly funny because it’s unexpected)

they have such a great chemistry on stage together, and it’s clear that it comes from a place of great affection and respect (the whole group has it, for sure, of course)

this is a small thing, but not too long ago, the boys had to fly somewhere (i can’t remember where, at this point) without lee know, and i.n. took a photo of lee know to the airport with them and held it up, lol. it was a very cute moment

i’m not gonna lie, i got these two confused when i first started looking into the group, for the first couple days.

Changbin and Han - ‘the chaotic duo’

Not sure if anyone else sees them like that, but these two just give off very chaotic vibes to me

a lot of the reality type stuff they put out, if these two come together, there’s bound to me something crazy happening

i’d say han is one of the ones that teases changbin the most, but as i mentioned before, changbin has stated he doesn’t mind this. however, some fans believe he takes it too far. i have my own thoughts on this, but because changbin has openly said he doesn’t mind (and chan said if one of them did have an issue, they would discuss it and the teasing would stop), i think it’s not up to us to determine if changbin should be upset (although, whether fans should feel upset about the namecalling is a different story, and not one I want to get into)

changbin once stated that he thinks about han the most out of the other members and worries about him, as he doesn’t want him to be sad. he’s also stated, in their 2 kids room episode, he’s jealous of han’s stage presence and the facial expressions and gestures that he does on stage.

in that same episode, han openly calls changbin a genius and how he’s jealous of his ideas and how he writes songs

despite being absolute chaos, these boys have such a great respect for each other and care about each other a lot

Changbin and Seungmin - ‘Tom and Jerry’

a lot closer than you’d expect

i say that because when i first got into the group, i didn’t even realize it, but as i’ve learned more about them and consumed more content, it becomes very obvious that these two are very close off screen

i’d even argue that they bring each other some kind of comfort, in a way

but the nickname still fits because seungmin never misses a chance to tease or roast changbin

one of the ‘hand holding’ duos. it’s honestly mainly changbin duos that you find this (but not just his, lol). one of his love languages must be holding hands

they also cuddle up to each other a lot and there’s tons of clips, especially lately, of seungmin sitting on changbin’s lap or being close to him. it seems like physical affection is a big thing for changbin, so you’ll see that a lot in some of his dynamics

changbin stated during their 2 kids room episode that he got so emotional watching seungmin sing (during kingdom) that he actually cried. in the same episode, seungmin stated that he can do anything with changbin at his side. these two have such great love and respect for each other, it makes me emotional

Hyunjin and Felix - “soft boys”

another one where i’m not sure what other fans refer to them as

but to me, they are just two very pretty and soft boys

much like lee know and felix, they’re just differing levels of soft

felix has this really wonderful and emotional little speech he does in their 2 kids room episode, about hyunjin, but a standout line would definitely be him saying that he is who he is because of hyunjin

hyunjin may not be as vocal about it as felix. but he clearly loves and respects him a lot.

these two did a couple of tik tok lives not too long ago and they were soft and adorable and playing emotional music, something they clearly bond over

i’d also argue that they’re the sassy duo, they give such sassy expressions, i love it

the two that tend to bring in a lot of fans, if i’m not mistaken. a lot of people have said they knew of felix before they knew about stray kids.

they share matching rings. hyunjin actually lost his recently while they were on tour, but he apparently bought new ones

Hyunjin and Seungmin - “’seungmin is my bias’ duo”

hyunjin gushes about seungmin on the regular, and clearly thinks he’s perfect, lmao

but it’s very sweet

if you watch they’re 2 kids room episode, it’s literally just 15 minutes of hyunjin talking about how wonderful and talented seungmin is, as well as stating openly that ‘seungmin is my bias’

but don’t be mistaken. seungmin is just as fond of hyunjin, just not quite as vocal as hyunjin is. he’s openly stated that they’re a support system for each other and are always there for each other. he clearly loves hyunjin very much

seungmin is always making hyunjin laugh. any clip of seungmin doing or saying something even remotely funny and hyunjin is almost definitely in the back laughing his ass off (to be fair, he laughs a lot, at almost anything. but he probably laughs the most with seungmin)

like i mentioned with i.n., hyunjin just lights up a lot more around the youngest two. he’s almost bubbly around seungmin sometimes, and it’s very cute

they’re very different in a lot of ways, honestly, but it works.

i stand by that a better, more sensible, and more intriguing plot for TSATS would have been, instead of retconning literally everything:

Bob is dead (because he was very explicitly absorbed/killed by Tartarus Himself in House of Hades, alongside Damasen), and nobody is going into Tartarus to save him. He made his sacrifice and is gone. However. Remember how the Titans, including Bob, were just kind of kicking around for several years? Particularly. On a cruise ship full of mortals. And Bob happened to be kicking around in general for an extra year versus all the other Titans. And he mythologically sometimes has a mortal demigod son who partook in the Calydonian Boar Hunt (Dryas of Calydon). Yeah.

So turns out, Bob/Iapetus leaves behind a demigod (demititan?) child. And because Nico was pretty much his only friend, he named Nico his child's godfather. And while he's not being left in charge of the child, as a son of Hades and godfather to this kid, Nico is duty-bound to fulfill Bob's last will and go find this like 2 year old to make sure they're safe. So Nico has to undertake this very unusual quest (that raises many questions, such as "demititans are a thing?" and "DOES THIS MEAN THERE'S POTENTIALLY MORE-?!" and "SHOULD WE BE CONCERNED ABOUT THIS?") and is kind of freaking out because. He's the son of Hades! He's notoriously bad with living things, and animals, and definitely small children! Even if he does find this kid and assure they're safe, he is the last person who should be undergoing any kind of quest involving even potentially having to babysit. Fortunately, his boyfriend is the human embodiment of sunshine and calmness and good vibes, and also once helped a nymph give birth, so he feels Marginally More Confident in theoretical demititan babysitting and offers to come along on this Epic Journey of Figuring Out What In Hades' Name Is Up With This Demititan Baby Business.

Proceed with wholesome epic shenanigans quest of Nico and Will scurrying around trying to locate this random OP baby while Nico has an existential crisis about the nature of his powers because he doesn't want to let Bob down! Both for Hades Kid Honor Reasons and because Bob was his friend! But what if he's destined to fail this quest just because of who he is? Because he's simply not built for hanging out with the living/mortals? And Will reassuring him that He Will Probably Not Traumatize The Weird OP Titan Baby And It'll Be Fine, and simultaneously getting a peek into the weird other life Nico leads hanging out with immortals much more than the average demigod, which Nico considers his norm. Bonus shenanigans of both of them getting caught off-guard and culture shocked from where each other's respective worlds (Nico's mostly-immortal versus Will's mostly-mortal) cross over and learning to navigate those for each other - Nico finally starting to make some mortal connections and get glimpses at modern mortal American life, and Will trying not to get his brain literally incinerated while Nico's happily casually catching up with some of his old friends who happen to be literal gods.

things from The Halloween Update that are concerning me more than i already am about Eddie:

his Frankenstein's Monster costume turning his face (and hands. ha, hands, like the hands on a-) half yellow half blue/purple like the clocks & Sally's door. that's fucking me up a little ngl

Eddie tacks "A bit of a moral conundrum-" onto his description of Frankenstein's Monster, who he's costumed as. which seems out of place with the rest of his description. he could've said "bolts" or "white streak in his hair" or another physical trait. nope. Moral Conundrum (one could also describe his costume as "two-faced"...). and the fact that he's dressed specifically as someone who was "brought back from the dead" makes me 👁️👁️. kinda reminds me of a certain set of artworks from Clown's tumblr a while back...

Eddie, despite his whole schtick being "bad memory", was the only one to accurately recognize Sally's costume as pedrolino from the Commedia dell'arte. could be a little 'inside joke', might be something else. i suspect it's something else due to his... ah... Everything.

Emma 2020 is like what if. You were trapped in a house in a dark with a father only you can manage. What if you were constantly told about a woman with accomplishments you frankly can't achieve because in so many things valued for young women you're just mediocre, you have no special talents other than being charming and likeable and you can't even do that all the time. What if you just wanted to do something that meant something but you didn't even realize that's what you wanted.

since i tempted a decent handful of my followers into fallen london i decided as recompense to make a guide/hints/tips thing to a few early on things that might not be as easy to pick up on. the first couple may be a little more obvious but some of the later ones are more obscure. enjoy, delicious friends!

1) Use Plans!!!! That little bookmark icon on the top right of an action will save it to your plans page so you can easily reference if you can't complete it now. great for remembering what you were doing and how many items you need. extremely good for ambitions

2) Use Your Opportunity Deck. It's easy to get caught up in the making your name stuff, but there's a lot of good and important things in your opportunity deck you can miss out on. Bronze cards often help open little stories even if it's not immediately obvious. You get a ten free actions card once a week in there too

3) Look Through the Social Activities. There's a lot of stuff buried in social activities, some of it not in the most logical places. You can resign from your current profession under send a message to a contact. If a friend sent you a letter to let you boost a skill you have to use it under epistolary matters -> sort through incoming mail. And more.

4) Training Professions. Enquirer, Minor Poet, Pickpocket, Tough. You don't have to do anything with these, they just give you a weekly boost in the associated stat when time the healer rolls around. Once you hit 70 on a stat the profession will no longer boost it and you can resign and pick up a new one for free. After you are a person of some importance you can look into getting a fancier job with more perks.

5) Favourable Circumstances. You may have noticed you get something called favourable circumstances every week with time the healer. This is an item in your inventory under curiosity. Its primary use is to force draw a specific opportunity card. When you're just starting out the best use may be to arrange a meeting with your contacts, which lets you draw a connected card of your choice (like urchins, hell, etc). This lets you get a favor right away so it's good to use it every week.

6) DON'T GO TO POLYTHREME. Look, I know the option is right there in the docks but it is a very confusing area and not that useful at low levels. I got stuck there once early on and may be slightly traumatized. Definitely go there later, maybe when you have your own ship and get the map for it.

7) Mrs Chapmans Boarding House. This is in Spite. The options there all give you a few of a resource that's often a pain in the ass to grind other ways. The amount scales with your base watchful. It is just a nice little free way to get some resources. The items available change every week on a four week rotation. See the season in soup guide on the wiki for more info.

8) Mr Chimes Grand Clearing Out Activities. This was an event that happened in the past but left behind a few activities that are unparalleled ways to gain some resources. These are: Descend to the Underclay Quarter in Spite, The Spider Symposium (head into the cellars) in the Singing Mandrake, Seeking Documents in the Sunken Embassy in Moloch Street, Hunt Bees in the University, Brawl with Dockers in the Blind Helmsman (not sure if the was part of mr chimes but the mechanics are similar), and LB Industries in the Blind Helmsman. They all work by gathering a certain amount of some item through the storylets and then handing it in for a resource reward. You generally get one nice reward and the rest is paid out in a low level resource, making it a decent grind for echoes as well (i use moloch st for that).

9) Expedition Supplies for your base camp. Descend to the Underclay Quarter mentioned in the point above is a fast way to get strong backed labor to cash in for supplies during your watchful making your name (and after). Go there, work with unfinished men, get 50 convincing falsehoods (the second option gives you 25 a pop) and send an unfinished man to spite for labor x3. This makes watchful myk so so much easier.

10) Buy Gear. All resources have a use so don't go spending them all like crazy, but it really is worth spending some to buy gear, yes, even +2 gear because if you have +2 in every slot that is a nice boost at a low level. Holiday events are also a great way to get a ton of very good free gear.

11) CP. Change points, basically XP. You need as much CP as the next level to reach that level. So you need 3CP to get to level 3, 4CP for level 4, etc (this caps at 70). You get more CP for succeeding in things that you have a lower chance of success for. 60-90% chances are a nice range to aim for. Also! You get CP for failing which also scales with your percentage chance of success. So if you have a 0% chance of success you may get way more CP than succeeding on something you had a high chance of success for (example: a 90% success gives you 2CP, a 0% failure gives you 4CP... this is why the weasel of woe is good).

12) What are the Bizarre/Dreaded/Respectable stats on gear used for? So you may have noticed that you sometimes get points of Making Waves. Once you become a person of some importance you have the ability to cash in making waves to get a stat called Notability. Notability can be used for getting advanced professions, upgraded lodgings, and more. BDR gear lowers the amount of making waves you need per level of notability. They're also used in checks later on much the way your base stats are and they have uses at the bone market when you get there. Basically, grab gear with them if you can but don't worry too much about how it all works now. It will make more sense when you get there.

13) Cross-Conversion Carousel. This is a slightly more advanced thing that you don't need to know about yet but can be very very useful even at low levels. You know how you can click on most resources in your inventory and combine a lot of low level ones into a few high level ones? There's a bunch you can also cross convert, meaning convert to a different category of item of the same level. These are: brilliant souls, tales of terror, compromising documents, memories of light, zee ztories, strangling willow absinthe, whisper-satin scrap, journal of infamy, correspondence plaques, mysteries of the elder continent, incendiary gossip, and memories of distant shores. You need 50 of one to convert it and you get 51 of the item you convert it to.

What this means is if you have 50 of ANY of these, you can turn it into 50 of any other by converting it around the loop until you get the one you need. This often saves you from having to grind items that can be annoying to get (mrs chapman gives several of these too to help you get the initial amount). ALSO if you notice some of the conversions give making waves which can be a decent way to grind them. See the wiki page here for more info.

14) Last but definitely not least: the wiki is your best friend. It has guides for everything. It tells you what every single action does. It tells you where to find resources. It has terrifying math graphs. Use it. Love it.

And there is also the fifth city wiki which has lore on it. It contains MASSIVE spoilers, but the lore of fallen london is obscure and spread out across multiple games now so sometimes you just wanna know wtf everyone is talking about.

15) Don't Look In Wells!!!!!!! Just. Do not. (Hunters Keep well is an exception. It is a very nice well).
