summary; things are getting real between you and azriel, and a slight panic ensues.

notes; idk man I just got out my laptop to write down a little drabble idea and out of nowhere this happened? 0 plot, 0 context, just somethin' cute, I guess?
“You’re avoiding me.”
You jumped, almost dropping the yoghurt pot in your hands, teeth clanging on the spoon as you pulled it back. Twisting to face the man now casually leaning against the counter, your eyes narrowed, wondering when he’d snuck up on you, and just how long he’d been there.
“Why are you avoiding me?”
“What- I am not!” You spoke through your mouthful, wincing a little and deigning to swallow it, even though the previously sweet treat now felt like a spoonful of sand in your throat. “Why would I be avoiding you?”
“That’s what I’m asking you.” 
“And now I’m asking you.” You deflected, nose scrunching a little as you turned your back on the man you most definitely were avoiding a little bit, Putting down your yoghurt, you attempted to seem busy as you stared out of the window at the gardens beyond, the sunlight flittering through the leaves and lighting up patches with a golden glow. 
“We haven’t spoken for two days.”
“I’ve been.. busy.” The lie did not roll off of your tongue as easily as they did his, and you knew that he’d picked it up. Catching sight of him in the reflection of the window, you watched him shuffle, arms crossing over his chest, shadows coiling tighter around his body as his smirk fell away. Then his gaze met yours in the glass, and you gasped, refocusing on the garden beyond. 
“You haven’t been to training all week, either.”
“I’ve been to training, I just had to fit it in at different times!” Not technically a lie, you had been going to training, just at the most unusual possible hours you could think of, to be sure you wouldn't bump into him. His silence stretched on, uncomfortable and stifling, and you knew every trick in his book to get people to talk, this was the easiest one, and yet you caved, after barely thirty seconds. “I’ve been, y’know, chaperoning Lucien and Elain!” 
With one arm, you motioned to the couple outside, now wandering past the window, a pink flush on her cheeks to match the colour of her dress as they ambled along arm in arm, Lucien talking animatedly, a smirk on his face at her expression. They took no notice of you both. “I wasn’t aware they still needed a chaperone, what, with being officially mated, and all.”
Your lips pressed together, brows furrowing. “Well, you never know.”
Silence, again. Then, an arm was snaking around your waist, your gasp lost to a shaky breath as a kiss was planted to the space between your shoulder and your neck, another over your pulse. Soft and tentative and fragile, Azriel peppered barely-there kisses along your skin as his other arm looped around you too, pulling you back against him. 
“Az..”
“Why are you avoiding me?” He pressed again, this time, rather than cockiness at having caught you off-guard, a twinge of vulnerable pain lay in his voice. He moved up, the tip of his nose dragging over your jaw, a soft kiss pressed there too as he nudged your head to fall back onto his shoulder, as he squeezed his arms around you a little tighter, wings drooping over the sides of your body. 
“Because- because, we can’t.” The words tumbled from you, a confession you’d never actually wanted him to hear, and he froze, before turning you gently. Despite letting you go, he kept you just as trapped here, in the moment, hands locking onto the counter on either side of your body to keep you in place as he lowered himself enough that you didn’t have to tip your head up just to look at him. No excuses to avoid his gaze, then. “We can’t do this.”
“Oh, we most definitely can. And we did, in fact, we did a lot more than this, multiple times, on this counter, just last month.” When a grin broke free, despite your rolling eyes, a smile finally made itself known on his face. “We’ve established that we can do this, and that we like to do this.” Your mouth opened, and he shook his head. “Uh-uh, I know you liked it, I had scratches down my back that proved it.”
“Ego, much?”
“So, now that we know we can do this, why shouldn’t we?” He was serious again, dark brows pulling together, a wounded frown on his face, and you hated that look on him. Wanted to hold him, to use your fingers or lips to smooth away every mark until he looked happy and peaceful once again. “Talk to me, sweetheart.”
“I can’t talk to you! That’s the whole point! You were my best friend, and you were the person I spoke to about everything, but I can’t do that anymore, and it scares me. What if we fuck up, and ruin our friendship? What if something goes wrong? What if you change your mind or this spark fizzles out, and.. and.. yeah..” You puffed out a sharp breath to follow it, unable to hold his stare now no matter how hard he tried. 
Only a second passed by, before he was huffing out a breathy laugh. One that soon transformed into a full-body chuckle, the deep sound vibrating over your skin, and a flush bloomed on your cheeks. “You’re freaking out.”
“I am not freaking out!”
“Oh, you are freaking out!” You reached out, shoving at his chest to get him to back up, storming away being the number one thing on your mind now, and that only made him laugh harder. So hard, his arms went weak, and he toppled a half-step closer to you, bringing him in so close his breaths were puffed over your hairline, and you had to look up to scowl at him now.
“You’re being a jerk.”
“I’m sorry, it’s just,” He took a shaky breath, daring to look down at you, calming himself into being able to at least offer a small smile to you. “I thought I’d be the one to freak out. I’ve been waiting weeks for it, since that very first night. I waited for you to wake up and tell me it was a mistake and for me to panic, and I waited after that first dinner to panic, and after the walk around the Sidra, and the picnic, and-”
“Don’t recap every date we’ve been on. It’s been months. We’ll be here for hours.” You grumbled, and if there had been enough space to do so without elbowing him in the ribs, your arms would be crossed over your chest. The thought of doing it purely for that reason flickered across your mind. 
“Listen, the point is, you’re freaking out. About us. I thought I was gonna’ freak out.” He was teasing, one thumb lifting from the counter by your hip to swipe gently at you, a test, to see if you were ready yet for his touch again. You were missing it.
“Stop saying ‘freak out’.” 
“Why?”
“Because you’re gonna freak me out!” The snap only made him laugh again, tipping forward to hide his face on your shoulder as he cracked up. You were mad at him, and scared, but above all else, your chest was all but bursting with affection at the way his body shook against you as he hid his amusement against your skin. When he was strong enough to pull back, he shifted, pressing a kiss to your cheek as he rose that had warmth racing to your face once again. 
“Look, you’re freaking out because we were friends first, but we didn’t stop being best friends when we started doing more.” His smile was genuine now, soft and caring and you gave a little sigh, a lump forming in your throat at the overwhelming emotions. He took one of your hands in his, rough thumb swiping over your knuckles. “I’m always going to be your best friend, and I want you to talk to me, about everything, still. The only difference is that now, sometimes I get to kiss you, hold your hand, take you out on dates and call you ‘my girl’ when I introduce you to people instead of ‘my best friend’.”
“Oh, that’s the only difference, huh?” 
“Well, it’s the only difference for now.” His murmur was soft as he leaned in, pressing a kiss to your cheek, your other cheek, the tip of your nose. “One day, hopefully soon but I can wait, the only difference will be that instead of hanging at your place or my place, we’ll hang at our place. Maybe, one day, the only difference will be that instead of telling people you’re ‘my girl’, I’ll get to tell them you’re my ‘wife’. We can just be two best friends, who stand up in front of all our other best friends, and promise to be best friends for all of our immortal lives.”
“You’re really not freaking out about this?” You questioned, all of it sounding so wonderful and perfect and terrifying at the same time, and you expected Azriel to have been flying for the hills by now.
“Not even a little bit.”
“You know, I’m high-maintenance.” You pushed, and he only huffed in response.
“No, you’re not. You like to stay in bed and read for dates, or go on walks, and you almost cried that time I brought you a postcard back from my assignment.” You poked at his ribs, and he shrugged. “But, fine, you can become as high-maintenance as you want. I’ll be more than happy to maintain you.”
“Well, I’m an annoying drunk.”
“I know, I’ve been friends with you for an eternity, I am well-equipped to handle your drunk antics.” He smiled, leaning in, breath sharing with you as you watched him near, golden gaze tearing you apart with its intensity. “Anything else?”
“I will yell at you for leaving socks on the floor, and you will have to be the strict parent because you know I will cave, and I get bitchy on my cycle sometimes, and-”
“Shut up, I’m not going anywhere.” His whisper was only for you, so low that had he not been so close you’d have missed it, before his mouth was sealing over yours. Soft and warm, his lips move slowly, coaxing you to kiss him back, until you couldn’t take it any longer.
When you lifted your arms, wrapping them around his neck, he sighed happily against your mouth, letting his body fall entirely against your own, pressing you into the counter. He licked along your lower lip, tongue teasing, waiting for permission. You gave it, mouth opening for him as you scratched lightly through the hairs at the nape of his neck. He was barely holding himself up against you, his tongue smoothing against your own, dragging slowly, tasting what you’d denied him for days now. 
He shifted, hands tugging at your thighs to lift you onto the counter so he could step between them, step closer to you. With one hand smoothing down his neck, you could feel his pulse thrumming under your touch, his head tipping a little to kiss you deeper. Unhurried, loving and tender and sweet. He tasted like the lemon water Cassian had been making everyone drink after training lately, he smelt like sweat and faint spices, and he felt like home. 
He pulled back, a gasping breath before diving right back in, groaning as your lips met again and your giggle was swallowed entirely by his mouth over yours, hands squeezing at your thighs, sliding up to your hips, Then, he was tugging you closer, wrapping your legs around his waist before looping his arms around your lower back, much like a hug, holding you to him. His lips left yours, dotting kisses along your jaw as he caught his breath, your head tipping back for him, until he settled with his face in your neck once again, and you could feel his smile. 
Bringing a hand up from where they’d settled on his shoulders, you wove your fingers through his hair gently, a rumble of pleasure at the act shuddering along his body. “See? We’re still best friends, just with really good benefits.”
“They were pretty good.” 
“I, for one, happen to love the benefits.” He settled happily, adjusting you until you were pressed as close as you could get, your heart thudding a steady rhythm against his shoulder, beating all for him. 
“Yeah, well, I happen to love you.” Your words were a whisper, but you knew he heard them, and after a second, he stiffened in your touch, holding his breath on full lungs. Your fingers paused their movements in his hair. “What?”
“We’ve never said that before.” He pulled back slowly, eyes wide, a shocked look on his face, and for all of one second, panic flared up within you once again. Until he was smirking at you. “I think I might have to freak out for a second.”
“You’re such an asshole!” Your legs unhitched from around his waist, but he made no move to step back, a work of art between your thighs as his head tipped back in laughter. Sunlight from the window behind lit up his golden skin, adding an extra sparkle to his eyes as he looked at you, lips spread wide in a heart-stopping grin. “I take it back. I don’t love you anymore, and I don’t even want to be your friend. Get off.”
“Nope! You love me, and we’re gonna’ be best friends for the rest of our lives, and we’re gonna’ make lots of cute little babies and live in a cute little house, and-” You cut off his teasing by pulling his lips back to your own, a handful of his shirt over his chest and one hand on his shoulder, and his words were muffled, your smile hidden, as your lips found each other again. 
He might have been a cocky, teasing asshole, but he was all yours, and you wouldn't have it any other way. Shadows swirled happily around the both of you, cold tendrils brushing against your skin and through your hair as they hid you both from the outside world, a bubble made for only the two of you, where only you got to see him like this. So carefree, so happy. 
Into the kiss, as his hands slipped up to hold your cheeks, fingers tangling in your hair, he mumbled, “I love you too, sweetheart.”

your class had just ended and you were now making your way to the cafe that heeseung had told you to meet him at. he texted you earlier about needing to ask you something important and no other context. which was unusual for him because it was usually you who would text him asking for help on an assignment or to cover for you when you were late to class. so for him to be asking something of you, it had to be serious.
you walked in and the small bell chimed as you searched the room for him. and of course, there he was, punctual as always. he was sitting by one of the tables near the window, two drinks already on the table in front of him. “hey heeseung,” you said, placing your bag on the ground as you sat in front of him. you picked up the cup and tilted it trying to see what was inside, “it’s your usual,” he said as he watched you. “oh thanks,” you smiled, taking a sip. “i’ll just get straight to it… you know that girl that i’ve been tutoring?” he said, fidgeting around with his cup nervously. you immediately rolled your eyes, “yeah what about her,” you said, putting your cup down. “well she sort of asked me out on a date this weekend,” he said, avoiding your eyes. you were one of his closest friends and he was one of yours so you knew him well and vice versa. he knew you didn’t think fondly of her, knew that you didn’t trust her and rightfully so. she was beautiful, extremely popular, and very rich but she wasn’t exactly at the top of her class. you weren’t super popular yourself but you knew a lot of people, you were a people watcher. you’d often see her hanging around the smart students; her scrolling on her phone or filing her nails as they scribbled down equations or edited slides for her. you knew exactly what she wanted from heeseung but you didn’t want to hurt him by telling him the truth. because when she would hold his hand or ruffle his hair as she asked him for another favor, he’d take it as an act of affection.
“so what? you need help rejecting her?” you asked, and he met your eyes again, lips pressed into a thin line. he sighed and you picked your cup back up for another sip. “no…” he said, still fidgeting with the cup, “y/n, i want you to teach me how to kiss.” you almost choked on your drink hearing his words. “YOU WHAT?” you almost yelled, in the busy little cafe. you cleared your throat as peoples heads turned towards you, you composed yourself as you scooted in. “repeat what you just said… slowly,” you said to him, still unable to believe what you heard. “look, if you don’t want to then you don’t have to but you’re the only person i know who can help me with this. i have no other girl friends and you have experience with these things,” he said, emphasis on the last part. you knew what he was referring to since you always told him about your one night stands and past relationships. but you never would’ve thought telling him your stories would give him an idea like this. “if she really likes me, i don’t want to disappoint her,” he said, his innocent eyes practically doing the begging for him. you felt bad for him, knew that she didn’t want anything more than his help in her passing grade. “…okay, i’ll teach you,” you sighed. “yes! thank you,” he said, leaning over the small table to hug you. it made you sad to think about how genuine he was in requesting this of you. you just hoped that she was also as genuine as him, you hoped she proved you wrong. “but hee, if she really liked you she wouldn’t be disappointed just because you’re a little bad at kissing,” you said and he just nodded as he sipped on his drink.
you had told him that you’d meet him at his dorm on friday after your classes. so there you were, just as you had planned but if this wasn’t the most awkward experience you’ve ever had, you don’t know what was. he had put on a movie before you got there and it had been playing in the background ever since, completely forgotten. you were both sat on the couch in the living room, heeseung had a roommate but it was friday so he was out. “okay let’s just start,” you said, crossing your legs and turning your body to face him on the couch. he did the same and when you scooted in a bit, he copied you again. “lick your lips or something, they’re kinda dry,” you said, licking your own right after. “so first, you want to make sure the moment is right. don’t just go in and randomly kiss her,” you said, and he nodded his head, listening intently. “how will i know when the moment is right,” he asked, fidgeting with his sleeves. you always thought that habit of his was cute, he always needed something keeping his hands busy. “you’ll just feel it, there’ll be a sort of tension around the two of you, you know what i mean?” you said, hoping he at least understood how to read the situation. he nodded and you took a deep breath, preparing yourself. you’d be lying if you said you weren’t a little nervous too, but how could you not be? he’s one of your best friends and yeah, you’ve kind of always thought he was a little attractive. “i’ll show you and then you can copy me,” you said. he nodded but the way his eyes were glued to your lips and his legs were slightly shaking told you he was getting impatient. you knew he’d had his first kiss some time in high school so you weren’t worried about that. just the fact that you were going to kiss your best friend was making you stall a little more than you normally would.
you cupped his cheek with one hand and used it to pull him towards you. he closed his eyes the second your skin came into contact with his but you took the chance to take in his features as you brought him in. you licked your lips once more and finally placed your lips on his. a peck first, and then reattaching your lips for a few more seconds just to see what you were working with. his face was warm, and the room was fairly dim but you could still make out the flush on the tip of his ear. you backed away just enough for your noses to still be touching and you both opened your eyes. “why don’t you try moving your lips along with mine? and let’s try, maybe 20 seconds, yeah?” you suggested, bringing up your other hand to rest on the back of his neck. he flinched a bit at the coldness of your hand on his neck but nodded quite enthusiastically anyway. his reaction made you smile and he returned it before bringing his hand up to your cheek, almost mirroring you. once his lips were on yours, you both stayed still for a second before you were tilting your head and moving your lips against his. he wasn’t as bad as you had imagined, then again, this first step in kissing wasn’t the hard part. you tilted your head to the other side and you were really about to lay back and pull him over you, when he suddenly pulled away. you were confused as he sat back and waited for you to say something. “it was 20 seconds,” he said innocently, as it finally clicked. “oh yeah,” you almost audibly gulped. you cleared your throat before you spoke up again, “you actually did really good… it’s just the hard part comes when you add tongue.” you watched his shoulders rise as he took a deep breath. you weren’t even really sure if he wanted to take it that far. “can we try that… maybe?” he said abruptly, hands in his lap fidgeting with his sleeves again. cute. “of course,” you said, scooting back in. your head tilted as you leaned in to kiss him. you kissed regularly for a few seconds before subtly parting your lips. he copied you again, giving you access to his mouth. you licked at his lips first wanting to make sure he was really okay with it. he tilted his head to the side in response, giving you even more access. you pushed your tongue into his mouth, and when his tongue came in contact with yours, he let out a loud sigh. the noise causing both of you to pull away, a blush creeping onto both of your cheeks. he was breathing heavy and wiping his palms on his sweats. “sorry,” he said, just above a whisper. you laughed, a breathy laugh in no way mocking or pointedly at him. he was worried he’d made you uncomfortable but you laughed so he did too. “i’ve never kissed anyone with tongue before,” he admitted and you thought it was cute how he couldn’t look you in the eyes. “well that’s what i’m here for… just try and do what i do, okay?” you said, caressing his cheek gently. he leaned into your touch as he nodded. you couldn’t get over how cute he was, he was like a puppy.
you kept your hand on his cheek as you sat up on your knees, his eyes on yours the whole time. you wondered if he felt the tension too. your face was above his now and he uncrossed his legs so that they were on either side of you. you connected your lips and he was immediately parting his, wanting to feel your tongue on his again. so you gave him just that. your tongue came into contact with his and it took him a couple of seconds before he started to move his along with yours. you removed your hand from his cheek and placed it in his hair, your other hand sliding along his neck and shoulder. he tried to move his tongue against yours and into your mouth but he wasn’t as skilled as you. you pushed your tongue into his mouth and let it explore for a while. he brought his hand up to your cheek again, tucking some hair behind your ear and he felt you smile a bit at that. feeling more confidence now, he placed his other hand on your waist. and you don’t really know what got into you as you pushed him down onto the couch. he wasn’t laying flat against the couch because of the pillows but you were still above him. “sorry, is this too much?” you said, pulling away just an inch or two. “no- no no i want you to keep going,” he stumbled. “this is a bit more than just practice, don’t you think?” you said, and he laughed a bit. “i think you’re just a really good teacher,” he said and this time you laughed. you moved your legs so that now they were on either side of his, and you sat back on his lap. he groaned as he adjusted himself under you, and it didn’t take you long to realize why. you blushed as you got up off his lap, sitting where you originally were when you first got there. “maybe we should stop for today,” you said, as he sat up. “that’s probably a good idea,” he said, placing a pillow on his lap. there was a flush on his face that reached the tips of his ears and down his neck. it was cute and it made you feel good that he reacted this way when you hadn’t really done anything. you looked at each other after a second and you both laughed. “good luck on your date tomorrow hee,” you said, as you leaned over to place one last kiss on his cheek. you got up and figured you’d just walk yourself out, seeing as though heeseung had a little problem to deal with. “thank you y/n,” he called out, as you made your way to the door. you smiled and waved him goodbye as you left. when you were gone, he lifted his cold hand up to his burning cheek where you had kissed him. he let himself fall back onto the couch, thinking about what just happened still a blushing mess. and for the rest of the night he had one thing on his mind, and it wasn’t the popular girl he was going on a date with.

It’s the middle of the week, have some dancing turtles
Spoilers below as I gush about my Mutant Mayhem Monday experience 🤗 please feel free to gush with me I wanna hear other people’s thoughts too!

First off… When Seth wanted to put the teenager in TMNT he meant it. Like, all the versions act like teenagers, but like Nickelodeon PG stereotypical teens. MM turtles were the realest PG-13 outta pocket 21st century teenagers I’ve ever seen and I love that shit because it’s the first time I actually felt like I was around the kids in middle school and high school again with the way they talk. Kinda appreciate Superfly cussing too? Like idk it’s Ice Cube and this villain goes hard tryna kill some teenage turtles he formally saw as his lil cousins, let the grown mutant cuss
Also uh, was not expecting to be sad so early in the movie? Like I could tell from the trailers it was gon be an emotional rollercoaster but shit like ten minutes in and these turtles are fuckin depressed. And to see it really hit me because in every other version (except for Bayverse) the turtles literally never let not being part of the human world get to them. In the shows especially they’re so well adjusted and never bothered by sticking to the shadows. Then there’s Rise where they pretty much go out whenever they want and indulge in most of the human world stuff they want to. For these guys to be so stunted and desperate to have more freedom was so heart wrenching. Especially when Splinter grounds them for a whole month and the reality sinks in of how much they know the life they want isn’t an option for them
Wasn’t expecting any kind of ship or romance but that crush Leo has on April hit me like truck because…… holy crap the Leo-April pair has never been a thing? On top of that this is only the second on screen black April we’ve seen and I’ve been a Leo kinnie across the board since day one so to see this combo of my favorite character liking a black girl is making me lose my mind 🥲 and like it got me thinking of several of my favorite shows and the single characters I kin in those and if they’ve ever had black love interests and it’s just still not a common normalized thing honestly.

I’m sure a lot of people aren’t excited for the prospect of ships coming back (especially after 2012 scarred us) but as a Leo lover and black girl it got me so excited to see something like this. I’m just hopeful and optimistic they won’t mess it up like a lot of shows do. The “this is just as friends line” already makes me a little worried bc that trope never has a good history but I have faith they’ll handle things tastefully and not make it toxic or messy

I will never understand what made Donnie laugh so hard at the name Nardo other than it being because it’s his sibling and that it bothers Leo lmao
All imma say about the puke scene is that I’m glad I heard an “out of context” spoiler about it bc I knew exactly when to look away and I’m glad I did bc the scene lasted for so long??? 😀❓But hey at least I had Unwritten to listen too while I was sparing my eyes 😂
The sequence of them going around and shaking down those gangs and Superfly’s connections. BAD. ASS. And each of them got their own moments to shine? Loved it. Like they each even got to take point and have their moments where they got to kick in the door lol. And the fight scenes were just, muah. Chef’s kiss, they all looked amazing taking grown ass adults down together
Okay Splinter definitely gets the best dad award for putting together that little surprise party, with all the celebrity Chris’s and pretending to wait on them 🥺 so pure. It did make me sad the guys immediately left and you can just see such a sad dejected look on Splinter’s face, knowing he can’t provide what his kids really want or make them happy enough without it 🥲 At the very least they say thanks and that they appreciate but I would’ve at least stayed for a lil bit and gone along with it, Splinter just looked so excited about it and it was so sweet 😭

They literally started singing BTS while being tortured they’re so unserious but like in a serious way to them and I love it. Also the fact that they did it just to make Donnie feel better? So pure. Them taking off the masks was crazy honestly… like them deciding not to wear them made my brain pause until I realize they’re kids going to school now and not being ninjas all the time… they don’t need them anymore. I’m just so pleased with the fact that this movie was willing to do what all other iterations weren’t. I see why they’re getting a sequel and show already, these guys and the plot development deserve so much more exploration
Maybe I missed something in the beginning but I’m wondering where Stockman went. Like is he still in custody? Did he die? Because not seeing him again that’s what I assumed but we only saw him get arrested or whatever, so if anything I don’t get why Superfly and the others wouldn’t try to break him out 🤔 I was surprised they didn’t make him a villain though, but I’m pretty happy about him getting to be a more optimistic kind character tho

The soundtrack: golden. Cultured. Nothing but range. Goes from a 90’s rap song to Natasha Bedingfield’s soulful 2000’s song. Most movies only ever have all pop mainstream songs or only rap songs because they think they can’t mix but MM does it effortlessly. The turtles are so versatile not just with music genres but they make old and new references ‘cause they’re well rounded kings 💪🏽 Between rizz, Adele, broski, Hey Arnold, K-Pop, Ferris Bueller, etc… I mean Donnie’s literally doing the sprinkler and the funky chicken in that gif up top 😂 they’re born in 2008 I doubt any kids today know about those dances anymore

A - Alone Time
I believe Curtis's exact words would be "what fucking alone time?" but, sure, on the super rare occasion he gets to touch himself, here's how it goes.
He doesn't have access to porn. It's all imagination at this point.
His living space is so over-stuffed with people in bunks who, ya know, live their lives as best they can and so, yup, they have sex in those bunks and almost everyone can hear them. He can use those sounds in his imagination. Some are better than others.
What he imagines, though, is pure escapism.
He pictures someone soft and clean, they smell good, and they take all the time in the world just to look him in the eye when they touch him. There are no toys, just his own hands. He uses both. You taste, smell, feel, and sound real; it's overwhelming and addictive.
He starts this slowly every single time you two kiss. Doesn't matter how nasty the fucking was the night before. Doesn't matter his mood. He really fucking likes these sweet, innocent kisses where you choose to go further, to pull him closer, to accept him into your body. Huge turn on for him.

I’m going to assume this is a genuine question without malicious intent so I will provide a real answer.
This could actually apply to 2 of my fics, but I’m guessing you’re talking about Something Sweet since it’s the one that I update more frequently.
Gonna plop this under a read more since it’s gotten long
Alright, so, the reason for her having an ex husband has been stated throughout the fic. She felt she had to be closeted and to meet certain expectations set for her both by society and by her parents. Sure, people are more accepting now, not that there isn’t still bigotry or pressure to conform, but with the fic taking place in 2022(I started it in 2022 and only a few months have passed in fic time and while I never explicitly stated the year, that’s what everything is based off of, giving Alcina a 1978 birth year and the reader 2001) that means Alcina got married in 2008. Idk if you were around during that time, but homophobia was rampant, being gay was a punchline. It’s not something you would talk about, there’s no way to know if your friends would actually stay your friends and not spread vicious rumors about you. Marriage equality in most states, not a thing. Again, bigots still exist, but it’s generally not this life ruining thing for people to find out you’re queer. Alcina would have come of age in the 90’s which would make that even worse.
That aside, I tend to explore themes of coming out later and families not being being accepting because it’s all I know. I tend to process my trauma through my writing. That and I’m sure it’s no secret that I’ve taken heavy inspiration from Carol only with a sugar baby twist. I also wanted her to have younger, biological children since I felt that would be fitting of a 44 year old divorcee rather than having adopted adult children like she does in canon. Sure, they could have been adopted or older, but there needed to be a reason for her to stay with Kurt for the amount of time that she did. I needed her connected to Karl in someway too. Heisenberg was originally supposed to have a twin brother so I went off of that and now Alcina has her annoying ex brother-in-law(who actually isn’t so bad in this universe, but Alcina won’t hear of it)
As for The Fall of the House of Dimitrescu. I’m sure no one is asking, but in that case Alcina was weak from her hereditary blood disease and didn’t have the energy to be defiant the same way she was as a child. Her father had lost his wife and he had no desire to continue caring for Alcina so he set her up with somebody who she reluctantly went along with. In that case, Alcina wasn’t even aware of her attraction to women yet, she just didn’t understand why she didn’t feel a spark with her soon to be husband. She also assumed it was normal for sex to be an unpleasant “wifely duty.” Once she finally made the connection and had an affair with a woman, turns out she liked sex quite a bit lmao.
Idk, all this aside, I know I’m not the only one who has given Alcina a husband in some context yet still fully believes shes a lesbian. I also have plenty of fics where she’s never had one. The first multichapter fic I wrote she literally left her home and privileged life behind to struggle until she made it as musician rather than marry a man. I don’t think it’s a crime to explore other possibilities. I have so many different headcanons for Alcina and all are universe dependent whether that be modern AU, the canon compliant timeline where she never marries, the canon compliant timeline where she does, and all the other in between stuff that diverges from canon. She’s one of my favorite characters of all time and I love fleshing her out.

and also, for that purpose: as someone with disabilities, im really curious how disabilities are translated into Felt World? obviously not all of them, that'd take forever. but i was curious if they use mobility aids just like ours or if they use ones we could not have (an example of what i mean could be like "seal-chairs" in "Witch Hat Atelier"? they are chairs with hooves that run and jump, as opposed to wheels). and i know you said music is really powerful in this world, in both singing and instruments, but i wanted to also ask how in a world with so much focus on sound are the deaf/hard of hearing accomadated? deaf/HoH people can still play instruments, obviously (the most famous example being Beethoven), but i meant other than that
(also, if i recall accurately you once said that "the puppets have to speak to be considered sentient beings"? i was wondering if in the future could that be amended to "have to be able to communicate"? because i assume nonverbal puppets would still exist, as well as puppets who just dont speak much (whether thats a facet of deafness or nonspeaking shutdown or just a quiet personality). or would that break Felt World's world-building's logic in some way? that's a genuine question. i wasnt sure how to word it in a way that would minimize the risk of one being put on their back-foot, but i tried my best, it really is a genuine question)
(also, because i never like to assume fluency in disability-knowledge: if you need a resource on media portrayals of disability at any point, i highly recommend the youtuber, Oakwyrm. they do a lot of really cool analysis videos on disability. i do apologize if i am overstepping, and you are already largely fluent in disabled portrayals in media and/or already aware of Oakwyrm's existence. i just like to shout at least one resource out because i know many people have no idea where to look to learn more about general disability representation advice and whatnot. you do not have to watch their videos if you do not want to ♡)
also a bit of a tangent, idk if this is just a "for now" aspect of Donna due to her adjusting or if this is a core pillar of her personality but... just, thank you for making a feminine character who cries a lot and is emotional with Big Feelings. ive always felt more connected to the Dorthy Gales, Cinderellas, Clarisse de Cagliostros kind of heroines who are a bit of a "damsel in distress" (tho i do think that term reduces a lot of their agency and bravery) and i feel a bit lonely that we dont see many emotional-vitality-driven heroines who need some help as much as badass heroines or sassy heroines, both of whom are fully capable of getting shit sone alone. makes my cry-baby disabled ass feel a little pathetic (im very physically weak because of my chronic health issues, and am the type of Autistic ADHDer who is very sensitive to getting big feelings), even tho i know those types of heroines are valid and needed. i resonate a lot with AJR's lyric about "But I'm weak. And what's wrong with that?" even though i know im taking it out of context
and im sure Donna will prove herself capable of being on her own and having her own agency, same as all the heroines ive listed, i dont assume she will be stagnant, but i just wanted to really thank you for making a character that i relate to. i dont get that often. it makes me feel a bit abnormal and strange, and i mean moreso than the "well youre neurodivergent and sickly" kind of abnormal that would be implied. like. Weird Kid sitting alone at lunch kind of strange. so its really cool to see Donna and feel less lonely, is what im saying. i wish there were more heroines like her for people like me nowadays, rather than the archetype being reduced to "archiac stereotypes" (which i both do and dont understand the logic of. it depends on context and the example given) and therefore shelving a type of heroine we dont see in a lot of contemporary media (in exchange for a heroine we didnt get to see often (if at all) in past media, the sassy and badass ones, i do get it, and im glad theyre being used more as they should have always been. there are a select few of both camps that feel like "women have to be as stereotypically masculine as possible to be worthy of being called 'a strong character'" when i think strong characters have less to do with personality and more to do with "do they direct the narrative's plot? do they have agency?". but i could be wrong about that and i am getting off-topic)
but yeah. just. overall: thank you for introducing Donna to be like she is. it means a lot to me to see a heroine like her in contemporary media. im really excited to see what youll do next ♡ but yeah, i know im babbling a lot here and you dont need to reply to this half, i just really wanted to stress my thanks and WHY you have my thanks ♡♡♡ i really appreciate having Donna sit at my metaphorical lunch-table with me, even if she has to go sit somewhere else later. its been really nice to be beside her

I had to take a few hours to think about everything to make sure I answered everything. But I should start off by showing my gratitude for the amount of time and effort you put into formulating this! So thank you, this was a really cool ask to receive <3
As for OCs, absolutely you can! I've already had a few who've made theirs, and I have no rules at all when it comes to shipping or self inserts or anything, as long as everyone is being respectful towards each other ^^
As for the disability aspect, I have a few key points that I want to explore in regards to especially deafness and muteness (is it called that? muteness?), but that's further along the story and will be introduced later! Also how song vs instruments work in this world is a part of the lore itself that'll be explained further down the line too, so no need to worry about our fellow mute or deaf/hoh peeps!
I have of course thought about mobility aids and other disability accommodations (because they can be born with defect, illnesses, and be injured pretty much like us, their bodies are a bit more fantastical but there are still rules) but i must admit didn't think further other than to give them similar mobility aids that we use. But clearly it would make more sense to make something more fantastical! I'll give it a thought! That's probably gonna be a fun design exercise ^^
I'm not sure if I can answer the entire ask in a way that does it justice, it's quite frankly the coolest message I've gotten, I'm gonna try and not let it get to my head (lol),
but i'm so glad you and seemingly many others seem to like Donna and appreciate her specifically for being sensitive and reacting strongly. It shouldn't be but it's really daunting to write female leads because as we know people just don't like women in media generally, but I eventually just got over it because I realized I was starting to write a character that demanded the audience cared and respected, rather than showing a story that I had fun telling, in a world worth exploring.
And not to spoil but I've already decided I do not want Donna to go through an arc where she's forced to abandon her emotions or go through something physically traumatic in order to "become tough" to be respected, that's not only overdone but lame and harmful wish fulfillment. So no worries in that department!
But anyways, I don't think I can properly say how appreciative I am of this ask!!! It really warms my heart that you and other people are going out of your way to send me asks about my little story that I came up with on a whim!!! It's truly the best compliment as a creator.

Let's now put the sentence into its context.

The sentence is said in the contest of discussing of Enji's weakness.
I've theorised in another post that Enji's problem/weakness, which put him in stark contrast with All Might and Midoriya is that he doesn't have an instinct that spurred him to action when a Hero was needed.
Midoriya, weak and helpless, jumped in action when he saw Bakugo being captured by the sludge Villain and All Might basically said this was the sign he could become a Hero.
We know All Might too, despite being Quirkless, at the beginning went around trying to deal with Villains.
Enji instead is shown watching the scene when his father get killed as the text complains about him being indecisive.
'Omae no seirai no yowasa wo abaki dashi miru ni taenai guzu e to hikizuri oroshita’ 「おまえの生来の弱さを曝き出し見るに堪えない愚図へと引きずり下ろした」 “Your innate/natural weaknesses was exposed and I can’t bear to look at how you were dragged down into an indecisive person.”
So, I think the idea is that Enji view his heart ('kokoro' 心 which can also mean "mind/core") is ugly because he's undecisive (and therefore didn't jump into action showing he didn't have an inborn Hero spirit), he's envious of who has it, and feels inferior.
He basically had the same fear Kirishima had, only he never truly overcome it in a healthy positive way like instead Kirishima was able to make (see chap 144). Kirishima decides to live a life in which he will have no regrets. He accepts he felt fear, that he might feel fear again but works on continuing to act in such a way that won't make him feel regrets because feeling regrets is worse than dying.
Enji just rages against himself. He can't accept he didn't act, that he felt fear, he hides it to himself and the others and therefore, put on airs, and therefore never truly overcomes his own weakness and continue to be plagued by it.
There's to say Kirishima's indeciveness didn't lead anyone to die and he could apologize to the people he didn't help, never mentioning hearing Crimson Riot, his idol, speaking about how he too fails, how he too feels fear but overcame it, helped him to realize things, while Enji lost his father and the girl his father was trying to save died as well and might not have had anyone helping him to cope with such feelings so he might have never overcome that whole thing.
Enji reached his position through effort (Endeavor) not natural born talent/Hero instinct and tried to excuse his own weakness by saying it was a matter of physical strength, that who's strong wouldn't be indecisive, hence his pursuit of strength.
So why he has to show off/make a display/put on airs?
Psychologically speaking that's a mechanism many people who feel inferior use. By putting on a mask and acting as if they feel superior of others, they think they hide how they feel indeed inferior.
A confident person doesn't need to put on airs, they know they are strong, brave, whatever or, anyway, think they're right the way they are. They're okay with themselves.
But who feels inferior and hates it might not want others (and, in a way, himself) to realize and so he tries to hide it by acting as if they weren't.
So basically the sentence you're asking about, in my opinion means that he's putting on airs to hide from others the fact he doesn't perceive himself as strong and brave as All Might.
Of course I might be wrong, I'm not Horikoshi and my knowledge of Japanese is risible so take all this with a huge grain of salt.

Here's my unwanted final opinion on the bear:
Whoever wrote the script or honestly the people that made the show in general actually, they deserve all the fucking awards, it's so well written and what I love the most is the character development in every single character even the smaller ones, it was beautiful, it was refreshing the way they wrote women on this show even though I'm a little confused over Claire and why they thought it was a good idea to include her, I know what people think she was "used" for, but idk if that's actually what they were going for, but anyway other than that all the other women?? Perfect, Natalie and Sydney and the little bond they developed, fucking adorable. This last episode was really good but I was expecting it to end a little less sad and maybe this is just me being way to hopeful (probably) the shit Carmy said to Claire without knowing he was saying it to her at the time was so mean, and that to me just makes it veryyyy clear that he still needs a shit ton of therapy, bc he could totally have dated Claire and still done a brilliant job at the restaurant, I don't love Claire and I've said it before she needed to chill with some stuff but my heart broke a little for her having to hear that, but what REALLY destroyed my heart was that nasty fight between Richie and Carmy they were both so mean to each other but Carmy just reached a level that I don't think we have ever seen his character at before, anyway I started the show not really liking Richie but by the end of season 2 I gotta say I do like him he can really be a sweetheart and he showed that in the last two episodes, and I'm very proud of him not gonna lie, and Tina?? Ugh that woman where she was and where she is now, the character development/growth wow. About the scene of Carmy and his panic attack and people basically ignoring the fact that he was a having a panic attack for shipping purposes (bc that's what it felt like to me) bc you know "he started thinking about Syd and he calmed down" blah blah blah, I saw a gif set of this with someone saying that and I was like, oh interesting, but knowing how shippers in general are I was like, okay but is that the full context?? And no it really wasn't, what they showed was very surface level and people saw the images and were like omg they are in love but completely chose to forget the images before and the context of what day it was, like yeah he calmed down remembering her bc just like Jeremy has said he knows that Syd is there for him, he started this with her and now he's opening it, they both share the same passion and knowledge and they know they can rely on each other so yeah obviously he calmed down I have severe anxiety and I can't tell you the amount of times that at school I would think about people around me that made me feel even a little bit comfortable just so I could calm down and get something done and why was I thinking about those people it's not bc I was in love hell no, it's bc I knew I could trust them in a way and could count on them, if I needed anything they are there I'm not doing it alone, and thats the whole ass point that is being missed and I think is so upsetting honestly. Finishing this show and now having the scene of Carmy stuck in the walk in freezer and basically every way he acted with his feelings towards Claire (which in my opinion weren't that strong but okay) tells me that Carmy does not need a romantic partner that man needs a new therapist and that's what makes sense for his character. Let me try to make this last part short bc it's already huge, Marcus needs to learn how to deal with rejection goddamn why did he have to yell at Syd, anyway I have my own thoughts on Syd's "romantic" life but this is already too long so I'm gonna end it here lol

A/N: hey hi hello, sooo I still think about Love and Suds at least once a day and I have an itch to keep writing for it. Idk if it'll be like a long fic or anything but more like a collection of various one offs pertaining to a reader who loves Jervis and cause of that in turn tries to save him from going back to his old ways. 
However, you don’t necessarily have to read Love and Suds to read this scenario, but it may help provide context to the nature of reader and Hatter’s relationship. 
Also, also I did not mean to post two Hatter fics in a row, I just really needed to get this dialogue chain out of my brain lmao
Trigger Warnings: slight angst, so hurt/comfort?, arguing, references to Jervis’ crimes, Batman being Batman (I really tried with him and like his weird stern way of showing concern?). That’s about it.

It was pitiful really.
As Jervis was checking himself over in the bathroom mirror…he found himself echoing the mental health checklist they often asked in the asylum. 
“How are you Tetch?” 
Good for once it’d seem. 
“Where are you right now?” 
Gotham, unfortunately. 
“In the past two weeks have you thought of hurting yourself or others?”
No…actually.
“On a scale of 1 to 10…how are you feeling?” 
For once the answer would actually be higher than 5 and he actually means it. He wasn’t being delirious or perpetually thrusting himself in a fantasy to make him happy. 
He actually had something…someone rather that made reality worth being in. 
Jervis scrunched up his nose and furrowed his eyebrows. Debating…dictating. 
Should…should I wear my hat?
It didn’t have any mechanisms or circuitry along the inside, like he initially planned for his newest hat when the rest were confiscated. 
Jervis glanced back in the mirror for another glance. His hair was combed and not greasy, he was able to part it neatly and his bangs didn’t cascade down past his forehead and were less spiky and erratic looking. 
Darting his eyes back to his hat in his gloved hands…he bit his lip. This shouldn’t be as difficult as it was. He knew what the hat stood for, what it-it can represent. As many terrible things it was tied to…the formal headgear gave him confidence. It made him stand taller, walk with his shoulders back. 
It would be nice…to be confident without it…
Inhaling, before he exhaled deeply. 
Would you be proud of him if he didn’t wear it? 
The night was for you after all. 
It had been a couple weeks since you swooped back into his life and pulled him from one of his darkest moments yet. You stayed with him by his side for a week, until…your reality set in and you had to go to work but you were always close by and he got to hear your voice every day. 
As a thank you, Jervis offered to take you out to dinner. While at first you implored the thanks wasn’t necessary, ultimately you couldn’t deny the opportunity to spend time with him. 
He began tracing the rim of his hat in thought. Perhaps he could bring it along and ask for your opinion when he saw you. You were always forthcoming and genuine with him. One of the many things he adored about you. 
Jervis held the hat in his hands, still fiddling with the rim as he took a taxi to your apartment. The taxi driver didn’t seem to fidget or notice a high profile villain was in his backseat…
For all the nerves bundling and firing in his veins from anxiety…he also couldn’t deny the elation he felt at the prospect of finally seeing you again. 
Jervis stood in front of your door, a fresh bouquet nestled in his hand. He rocked his knuckles along your door. 
His blood ran cold when the pressure from the knock caused your door to open slightly. 
Did you forget to lock it? Was it broken? Should he go in? 
You–You knew him better…you knew he wouldn’t break into your apartment for no reason other than to ensure your safety. 
He softly pushed the door open more as he snuck in. 
Should he sneak? 
He called out your name as he crossed the threshold of your door. When he turned on his heel to close the door back, he noticed the broken lock mechanism on your door. He felt himself gritting his teeth. 
No doubt you put in a complaint and they’ve gone ignored…this city couldn’t careless if anything happened to you. He would, he cares, he cares more about you than any wretched being in this shallow city–
“I told you to leave! He’s not doing anything wrong or going to do anything!” 
“You can’t be sure…”
“I am sure. Because I am here now!”
Jervis’ ears perked up at your voice. The other one was too muffled for him to make out. 
Oh, he shouldn’t eavesdrop. That…that was rude. Agh, be polite or be curious…
He at least wanted to know who the other person was. 
Jervis noticed a small streak of the moonlight cascading down the hallway. That was likely your bedroom at the end of the short hallway. Jervis slowly crept down the hallway. He once again softly pushed the door open a little more to have one eye visible to the events unfolding. 
“Jervis Tetch is an extremely deluded individual. He–he is dangerous.”
“Not to me! He hasn’t nor will he ever hurt me! Because I care about him, unlike you and unlike those doctors at Arkham! None of you cared! You just want another punching bag and the doctors want to be able to control the minds’ of their patients. Nothing more!”
Batman? Batman! W-what was he doing here? To discuss him with you? And why did it seem like you two have had this conversation before? 
Batman sighed as he jumped down from the metal railing and properly onto your balcony. You were sitting on the side of your bed looking up at the dark figure.
“I can’t…I can’t ask for you to watch over him. He’s too chaotic and you have your own life to live–” 
You stood up in fury. “Don’t–Don’t! Don’t get chivalrous with me oh, Dark Knight! I know what I’m getting into.”
“Do you? Have you seen his case files? Seen the images of the countless women he-”
“I’m not oblivious to his crimes, Bat. You don’t have to remind me.” You put your hands up to your hips. “I–I know what he’s done. It’s horrible, but it could’ve been prevented…It can be prevented.” You began rocking side to side, contemplating. 
“Tetch was a brilliant man. He could have done amazing things and accomplished great feats. But I’m afraid he’s passed that…and I don’t want you to blame yourself for not being there for him to prevent his crimes–”
“Stop…”
“I don’t want you to blame yourself, and now assign yourself as his guardian…you may know him but so do I-”
“No! No you don’t! If you knew him so well you wouldn’t have constantly called me to findout more about him! You came to me because you knew I knew him better. If you knew him, detective, you would know more than anything he needs help!” You argued. 
Your fists were clenched and held against your chest. Your body shuddered as you fought back tears. Not wanting to show any vulnerability to the Dark Knight. 
“He needs help…actual help, from someone that cares about him. That knows him for more than his criminal history…”
You saw Batman begin to open his mouth but you cut him off. “I know what Jervis did, Batman. I’m not naive. You don’t have to guilt trip me or shame me, it’s not going to work.” 
"If you know what he's done, you know what he's capable of. What happens when your own reality calls for you to…have to leave Gotham, again? You can't always be there for Jervis. I agree he needs help, but help that's much bigger than you…"
"Oh, you mean like you?" You snarled. "Someone who beats him up, throws him around, and locks him up in an asylum that wouldn't do any better! You don't care about him…not like that Catwoman or better yet your precious clown." 
Batman furrowed his brows. "You don't know what you're talking about. You're confused." 
You shake your head defiantly, "Bullshit! You give that clown chances after chances, expecting a change…he's done terrible things too Batman. He's killed men, women, children. Husband's, wives, sons, duaghters…" 
"Enough." Batman snapped. "This isn't about me. It's about you and Tetch. I'm trying to help you."
"You sure have a funny way of helping…" You sniffled, the tears slowly pouring from your eye ducts, no matter how hard you tried to push them down. "I-I-I I know I left when he needed me most…I regret it every day…I-I had no choice.." 
Once Jervis heard your voice crackling from your tears and whimpers, it was like he snapped out of the trance he was in. 
He heard every word. Every single word. Jervis didn't appreciate Batman's input a single bit…even if deep down Jervis knew the Caped Crusader had a point. 
"That's enough!" Jervis intervened. 
You felt his familiar glove hands rest on your shoulders, giving you a comforting squeeze. 
You almost jumped out of your skin at his voice and presence.
"Jervis! Oh my god, where…how…when-when did you–?" 
He squeezed your shoulders again. "It's all right, darling. Don't worry, I understand."
"Let them be, Jervis." Batman took a step closer to you two. 
"Don't take another step, Dark Knight!" Jervis stood in front of you now. "I think you've upset them quite enough! I think it's best you make haste to whatever damp dark cave you call home!" 
Your eyes widened as you saw Jervis began walking towards Batman almost going toe to toe with him. 
"Jervis! Its-its–" 
Batman didn't move as Jervis invaded his personal space. He was studying him, looking for any possible signs of the eccentric deluded man he's come to know. 
There wasn't any. His irises were normal, his blood pressure was…normal even considering his angered state, he wasn't rhyming or chortling…and he didn't have his hat. 
Batman began walking backwards away from Tetch and back on to the balcony. 
"Here's some good advice," he looked over Jervis' shoulder and towards you. "I know you care about him, it's admirable. But you can't do it alone. Best to get out while you can before you're in too deep." 
With that he jumped up on the railing and began gliding through the brisk Gotham night air. 
Jervis growled in annoyance as he slammed the door to your balcony shut. 
"Rude. Positively rude! Breaking and entering! Harassing and interrogating an unsuspecting individual! Why I dare–" 
His enraged ramblings were brought to a halt when he heard your sniffling.
Jervis rushed back towards you. He got down on his knees in front of you. He quickly placed your hands in his and squeezed them as he looked up at you sitting on your bed. Tears flowing like a precious stone fountain. 
"Shh…it's okay. I-I…I apologize for listening in…I just…never knew…" 
You shook your head. "No, no I should apologize. I should've told you, but I didn't want you to think that I was siding with him or anything. What you saw was the norm. He comes storming in and asking questions and telling me what I should and shouldn't do with no regards for my actual thoughts and feelings…" 
You squeezed his hands again. "I…I also want to apologize for leaving Gotham! I didn't want to Jervis! It was the hardest thing I ever had to do!" You cried as more guilt driven tears began glowing. You had no choice, you couldn’t find a job pertaining to your field, nor find a part time job that could afford you a room and board in Gotham. 
He tried to shush you, bringing his hands up to run your shoulders and gently rock you back and forth. "Darling, darling, please it's all right. You're here now! You were there for me when I needed you most!" 
You gulped down a breath. "B-But I couldn't…I didn't-" 
"No one could have, if anything I'm…I'm glad you weren't here for all of that." 
Jervis brought himself up from off his haunches to embrace you. You rested your head on his shoulder and wrapped your arms around his neck. 
After a moment filled with your soft whimpers. You tightened your grip on him as his hand rubbed your back up and down. 
"I meant what I said…" You croaked in his ear. "I-I do care about you Jervis, I want to help you and be here for you." 
He smiled warmly. "I know you did…I must admit it's very rare to see someone defending me.." he pulled away from the embrace to look at you. 
"But I couldn't imagine a better person to have in my corner." He brought his hand up to cup the side of your face and you happily clasped it with your own hand. 
"I'm not going anywhere…despite Batman's advice…" You muttered in disapproval. 
"I know, and I assure you…it won't be in vain. I'll do whatever it takes."
You smiled softly. You closed your eyes as you leaned your head into his hand. Relieved in the peace that wafted over the hostile air in the room when Batman was there. 
You knew what Jervis was capable of, but you were even more aware of his potential to be a better person. 
You opened your eyes slowly too look into his bright eyes that crinkled from his own smile. 
Then you noticed something was slightly off. "Jervy?" 
Jervis giggled, adoring the nickname. "Yes, my dear?" 
"Where's your hat?" 
His eyes widened. Instinctively his hands reached up to his head only to notice what you said was true. He recalled having it in his hand when he arrived. Had he truly set it down somewhere? In his worrisome state for your safety?
"Oh, um…I brought it with me…where?” 
The both of you looked frantically about the room. 
“Here it is!” You opened the door from your room and saw it…surprisingly on the floor. 
You picked it up gently and softly brushed off some dust from the hardwood floor. “I’m surprised you weren’t wearing it.” 
You handed the hat back to Jervis, but he hesitated. 
“Do-do you think I should? I-I mean wear it that is…” 
Your eyes widened. Something really was stirring in his mind if he doubted putting his hat back on. If anyone knew anything about Jervis it was just how precious his hat was to him. 
You glanced down at the headgear and back to Jervis. He was swaying side to side with his head hung low, he stared at the ground.  
You walked over to him, lifted his chin up by the tips of your fingers, and gently placed the top hat on his head. 
“Here’s some even better advice…Just because you’re changing doesn’t mean your wardrobe has to.” You giggled. “Besides, I absolutely adore your hats…they make you look that much more handsome.” 
Jervis couldn’t contain his giddy smile anymore as he chuckled softly. He did feel better with it on, or perhaps he just felt better overall in your presence. 
Who needs good advice from someone who doesn’t know you? When you have someone that knows so much and cares so much more instead.

honestly even as someone who is, at this point, still monolingual [i do rlly need to do more than just duolingo for spanish but. motivation issues 👍 i have a bunch of pdfs of spanish language books saved i’ll get to them] it annoys me that english is always the default. like my general love for Language aside what even is the point of having the translator if it barely gets used. its main use at this point seems to be to translate stuff for chat or for the non-native english speakers to better understand the english ccs because convos Always Default To English
like i get that the translator isn’t always the most accurate but it seems like it’d be so much more comfortable to just use it and then correct anything that it fucks up, whether in a common language between everyone or just repeating yourself a bit clearer if it was just the translator mishearing. even if it can make convos a little slower sometimes. like does that all make sense
sorry it's been several days but in fairness i think it was 4am when i got this ask
but yeah i think that it's impressive how much more comfortable the mono english speakers have gotten with hearing other languages and using the translator, i just wish it was more common. and when people DO use it it's really neat and really brings forward kind of the point of the server. like i always think about that moment during the 4halo conflict where forever got so frustrated at being misunderstood that he decided to just speak in portuguese so that bad would get a direct (if imperfect) translation of what he was saying, because he felt like having to speak in english wasn't getting his point across. and how during the elections that was something everyone who speaks english as a second/non-native language talked about-- that they cannot fully express their points to everyone during the debates or even across languages because they're all speaking english. and for that, the logistics wouldn't have worked anyways, but that doesn't mean it doesn't demonstrate that the expectation that everyone else just speak english is a faulty one, and one that fucks over everyone else at times.
idk i totally get that because everyone else does speak english, it's just easier, especially in time-sensitive or high-impact moments, to just speak english, but i think using the translator more and more creators learning things in one another's languages and just using context and everything is what it means to exist in a multilingual space, which is something i think a lot of people (especially monolingual eng speakers) should get more accustomed to.

It’s the beginning of the comfort arc we’ve all been eagerly anticipating and it delivered more than I could have ever imagined fuck! I have so much to say BUT FIRST thank you for sharing your writing with the world it literally is amazing through and through - so carefully and beautifully crafted - and every update makes my day/night <3
Big thing for me in the last few chps is i appreciate so much how you tackle themes that mirror real life. It's in a way that’s nuanced and really makes me feel really :(( - but in a good way - in a way that makes me and i'm sure many others feel seen on so many levels. Like:
(1) Hwa in chp 10 mirroring the experience of not being accepted by family as a queer person - but also, tell me if im going too deep into this - but there’s an intersection of identities that you unpack - of class identity (i.e. Hwa’s need for career security which he was leaning on his family for) converging with his family’s expectation of heteronormativity - which meant that back then, Hwa’s relationship with San couldn’t coexist with him pursuing his passion. Like that’s a very real thing for so many people and a pretty complicated thing to explore but you expressed it in a natural way that feels very validating.
And then (2) in chp 12 Woo illuminating the experience of being a minority - when he says ‘fucking alphas’ when yunho is like ‘our girl’ - like as much as I love that possessive/intense caring vibe, woo is so fucking FAIR!!! Like that entitlement (altho obvs for yungi we know it's different) is such male behavior and I’ve KNOWN that rage woo feels, that ‘ugh alphas’ feeling is one I and I’m certain many others have felt in the context of living in an IRL patriarchy and idk… the fact that you can write that experience in a way that hits that hard, succinctly with subtlety AND clarity - damn you’re so good and I hope you know you’ve done these experiences so much justice in your writing.
But anyway on another less #deep note (lol): the ‘yeah baby?’, the ‘can I put you down sweetheart?’, the searching eyes, the cautious but caring touches, the tender kisses (p.s. I died when yunho started licking her neck omg why would you do this to us) - JESUS it’s too much for me to handle but I need it like I need air so THANK YOU. Now that yungi and mc are in the very same intimate space, that very same apartment, that very same bed that yungi/mc all began, I'm on my tippy toes patiently awaiting a new and ~soft~ dynamic.
So happy to hear you’re excited about writing again and once again, AMAZING JUICE!!

to answer/comment on some of what you said.... yes absolutely to your comments on chapter 10. i obviously don't know too much about the member's actual upbringings or family finances.... but i certainly see a particular type of small town/working class energy from san. he projects a bit of life confidence and surety that personally informs a lot of how i write him. to me it felt natural to contrast that with seonghwa here and add an extra layer of tension to their relationship. i think for san, being rejected because of money was a hard line in the sand for him..... but that's also his own prejudices and life experience at play. i'm excited to work more with them in future chapters and expand on this.
also chap 12 like..... YESSSSS - the thing that i always love about a/b/o is that you get to play with that possessiveness to the nth degree and when you fold in elements around claims and bonds it gets even crazier. yunho and mingi have this very sure feeling that reader is theirs ....and yes, that's somewhat true just like they are hers......... but that doesn't mean that she (and omegas by extension) are just property. i really wanted to write the arc with minseok so that later on when all the happy endings happen, reader's autonomy is obvious, it's clear that it's her agency and her choice. so thank you as always for catching those moments.
on your last comment.......................there is SO much more comfort yungi coming i can't even tell you. i'm a serious sucker for hurt/comfort arcs as a reader and writer, and i just seriously believe that people who go through hard things like this deserve a person who can be there and hold them like they need to be held. it's truly my favorite thing to write as a romantic bitch 😭 so yeah get ready..... yunho and mingi are shifting into patient, loving, kind, and tender mode before things get back to hot and heavy

gillion and chip as hadestown!orpheus and eurydice
ok so i was listening to hadestown again because i love it dearly and i am still desperately trying to cope with ep 101 and i was like haha. chip and gillion as orpheus and eurydice. because yknow in the context of the actual myth you could compare it to the whole feywild arc and whatnot.
but then i listened to it more (more than halfway through the first song) and i realized it’s way better (worse) if you have it the other way around with chip as hadestown eurydice and gillion as hadestown orpheus. (there’s another way to read it too but we’ll get to that because it’s a bit more convoluted since. well it’s basically a game theory atp)
i’m going through this song by song because i have never felt happiness or peace ever
Road to Hell: ok so ignoring the gods for now. road to hell does eurydice a little dirty so for this song it’s just orpheus i’m talking about, but hermes describes him as a muse’s son and touched by the gods themselves. ok cool whatever so what Any Way the Wind Blows: “eurydice was a hungry young girl / a runaway from everywhere she’d ever been”? like yeah ok sure cool (side note? “ain’t nobody gonna stick around when the dark clouds roll” and  for chip, mr. constantly both afraid his crew will stay and will leave anytime something bad happens and who literally lost his family in the hole in the sea? silly.) plus for orpheus, “and this poor boy wore his heart on his sleeve / you might say he was naive to the ways of the world / but he had a way with words”. that’s my boy right there
Come Home with Me: most of this is just very funny (”oh, a liar and a player too?”) but “why would i become his wife?” “because he’ll make you feel alive” kinda got me a little tbh. and there’s also the ongoing theme of orpheus working on something to fix the balance of the world, which he can do because he’s touched by the gods.
Livin’ it Up on Top: most of this i’ll talk about when i talk about the gods because woo boy that should be a post of its own with how much psychological damage it caused me. but “there was a girl who had always run away / you might say it was in spite of herself / that this young girl decided to stay” for chip?
All I’ve Ever Known: yeahhhhhhhh nothing real metaphorical about this one. fnc shippers come get yalls juice ig idk that’s really all for that one
A Gathering Storm: title aside, the whole thing is eurydice being concerned about the practical way they will survive the winter while orpheus works on his song to make the world right again.
When the Chips are Down: hand to god i did not think about that pun until now. but yeah this whole song really sold it for me. “help yourself (to hell with the rest), even the one who loves you best / take if you can (give if you must), ain’t nobody but yourself to trust / aim for the heart (shoot to kill), if you don’t do it then the other one will” are interesting enough to think about with chip because basically his whole thing is not turning out like that but there are still some times (mainly early on) that he gets a little closer to those ideas. finally, “cast your eyes to heaven / you get a knife in the back”. put your life in the hands of anything but yourself and you get fucked over.
Wait for Me intro: alright one god i can pitch right now. hermes with the “so, just how far would you go for her? you got a ticket? yeah, i didn’t think so. course there is another way, but nah, i ain’t supposed to say.” being as mean as possible rn? hermes as niklaus would work as absolutely unfortunate as that is. which also makes the “ain’t no compass, brother, ain’t no map” line in the actual song even funnier since it’s hermes describing how to get to the underworld to save eurydice.
Wait for Me: the fates hit orpheus with the self doubt and worry that essentially he’s not the chosen one, part one. don’t really need to explain that one
Way Down Hadestown (Reprise): now hear me out on this. because hades’ whole bit is deals for people’s souls. eurydice signs a deal to give him her soul in exchange for not starving to death, and this song is her realizing what that really means and trying to defend it. which i will admit, makes it seem like it would work for niklaus too. but we’ll come back to that
If it’s True: “is this how the world is? to be beaten and betrayed and then be told that nothing changes?” now this one got me a little, between gillion’s ‘my last sin’ speech and what he said to jay in the block.
Intro to Wait for Me (Reprise): “it’s a trap?” “it’s a trial.” hermes explaining to orpheus and eurydice the conditions of them being allowed to leave. at the end of the day, according to hermes, their success rides on whether they trust each other and themselves. arguably the most recurring theme of riptide.
Doubt Comes In: orpheus doubting that he actually has the power to bring her back, thinking he has been tricked or is too weak to do it. in gillion’s own mind, his fatal flaw is not knowing if he believes he can be the chosen one or protect his friends. and for orpheus, he couldn’t.
a good amount of the songs are missing because i haven’t talked about hades and persephone yet. they’re. a separate issue

haha, serious answer time, though i will be vague and book-spoiler free since idk if you have any book-spoiler knowledge. and i also don't know if you're asking in the context of the books or the show, so i will answer a little of both (but in a non-spoilery way, for the books). in the books, i didn't have too many thoughts on him because we didn't really get to see him pre-madness, we didn't really get to see What LTT Was Actually Like. we HEAR a decent amount about him, but we don't really see him "onscreen" in the books.
in the show, that's already changed! we've gotten TWO whole scenes of pre-madness LTT, and they've both been fascinating and left me wanting more (in a good way). and of course the empty space of LTT in all of ishy's and lanfear's scenes this season made me completely feral. i NEED the full backstory on their toxic failed throuple djkfgh and it's so funny because i never felt particularly interested in the age of legends or forsaken backstory or any of that stuff while reading the books (although i know a lot of people did, but i bet they probably loved it from the extra-canon sources that i didn't read more so than from the books themselves, because AOL backstory stuff was SPARSE in the actual books), but after season 2, i NEED an AOL spinoff. even just like a single 4-6 episode miniseries! i need it so bad!!!!
but as that's tragically unlikely, i would loooooove more AOL flashback scenes in the main show............but on the other hand, the show being so sparing with them makes the few we DO get that much more exciting and intriguing. and of course i wouldn't want them to take too much attention/screentime away from the present day story since there's a lot to do there. plus, writing and performing entire scenes in the old tongue must be extremely challenging and a lot of extra work! and i LOVE that they went the extra mile of making AOL scenes entirely in the old tongue, so i am a-okay if that means we get fewer of them.
that being said, without saying any spoilers, i think the trajectory of the story will naturally lend itself to us seeing more of LTT in future seasons and learning more about him and what he was like as a person, so i'm really looking forward to that!! and we DID get several more insights into his personality this season just from ishy & lanfear noting ways in which our boy rand is similar or different to LTT. (i disagree with the opinion of some readers that the show is making him arrogant and unlikable in a way that is contrary to the books; the books do establish a level of arrogance for him, and regardless i don't think he comes across as unlikable at all in the show, especially not after the 2x08 scene when we can see how exhausted he is and how heavily everything is weighing on him.)

The Black Parade is a rock opera concept album written by American rock band My Chemical Romance. It follows the story of a young, ex military, terminal cancer patient  as he reckons with his life, death, and the impact his life really had. Many people like to rearrange the song order of the album to tell the story, however I think the order of all of the tracks in Black Parade are where they’re meant to be. MyChem’s other albums tell a cohesive story within their designated track orders and never need to be swapped around so I personally follow that rule as well when it comes to Black Parade.
Of course we start with The End narrating, rather sarcastically, the current situation of our protagonist. The End and Dead! are two tracks in this album that are the definition of DO NOT SEPARATE.
Generally I see The End and Dead! as the big opener,This Is How I Disappear as anger The Sharpest Lives as reckless self indulgence/destruction, Welcome to the Black Parade as a reflection in a moment of clarity almost like a broken promise the patient never wanted to break, I Don’t Love You is the patient speaking to his partner possibly trying to convince them to give up loving him because he's a dead man already.
House of Wolves is the religious guilt/anger of realizing that all the actions he took serving his country and how he lived his life were damning and not saving, while Welcome to the Black Parade is a hopeful look on the afterlife, House of Wolves is a negative. “Heaven” vs “Hell” maybe.
Cancer is pretty self explanatory, patient speaking to his loved ones nearing his end. Mama is A Lot. It’s a confession of sin from the war (this and blood and dead are where the military context comes from as well as the social political climate of when the album was released) it's a confession of sin in the personal life as well. “You should have raised a baby girl I could have been a better son” can take on a few meanings all of which are up for interpretation. Sleep is a sobering realization. It’s devoid of anger or passion or anything, like a quiet defeat.The opening tape recording is of Gerard describing to their therapist the nightmares they had while staying in a haunted house to write this album with his bandmates.
Teenagers I have not enough to say regarding the overall story but a banger. Disenchanted is in the title, it's the final result and reflection of the patient’s life. No matter what he did it was always going to end up this way. Nothing he could have done would have changed it.
 Famous Last Words is an interesting one. Gerard originally wrote it for their brother Mikey, who was taking a short break from the band during the writing process to deal with various mental health going ons at the moment. When he returned and heard the song he asked for it (AND DISENCHANTED!) to be on the album. It fits thematically, and adds a hopeful note to the end of a tragedy.

ok finally have the time to sit down and respond to this idk how long this will get i have thoughts(tm) if theirs one thing I'm always thinking about it's death and SPECIFICALLY terminal illness which as someone who's actually had that will probably wildly influence my reading of the album (I know shock to everyone I've never been to war) as well as my big feelings about medical things in general (this album was made in a lab about me actually)
overarching it's always interesting to see stories where death is not only expected but something actively being waited for I feel like everyone and their mother knows they're going to die to the point it's joked about but I don't think many people actually understand that as someone who had to metaphorically stare down the barrel of a gun from birth it's always interesting to see others express that feeling of not quite apathy that I've always felt but the moment you stop trying to claw your way away from death and when you start just living with it always over you shoulder
anyways back to the actual album
there's something so visceral about giving your body to your country and having it not be able to save you back of sacrificing your safety for you to come back home just to die of something no one can save you from there is no atonement in death of chance you went somewhere and you hurt a lot of people and you come back and don't even have the chance to die of it you die of chance like all the others like people who weren't broken for a cause who didn't shape themselves into a weapon to serve
they say that they don't feel bad for the blood on their hands and should they? for getting sucked into the largest propaganda campaign for trying their best for being in the wrong place at the wrong time a dying man can feel no guilt at some point it's just to late there is no point in feeling bad for what brought you somewhere when you simply don't have time
I think this album is also particularly interesting when the singer is explicitly talking to others (like in mama) 'cuz even though the POV person seems to have come to terms with what they've done it's interesting to one of the hardest parts of dying is trying to explain to anyone else you are because no one will actually believe you I don't have to many thoughts on that right now but I just think that's a part of dying people don't talk about is when you've come to terms with it and no one else has
OVERALL I will be thinking about this album probably for a while and this isn't even close to all of my thoughts but I have so many posts I can make in the future so there's always that This one got a tad away from me I can talk about each song on it's own later if you want but for right now I think all the time about what it's like for someone to come to terms with the fact they are dying and what they had to make themselves to get there (< is so normal about this and hasn't based their whole life around it for almost two decades)

hey ik its been a while since ive posted but i like that this is always here for when i have something i wanna talk about.
anyways so a while ago i released a song called do you see your god in me and i wanted to talk about the whole concept of the "god" within someone.
just a warning for those who r reading this: this is going to be a more personal post with me talking about more specific things going on in my life as this involves explaining my music which is one of if not the most personal thing to me. if youre not interested in that then youre free to move on. also this is probably gonna be long as fuck just like my other posts on here.
before getting back to the main subject let me give some context.
do you see your god in me was written about shinji and kaworu from evangelion. if you havent seen it then its fine ill be explaining the relevant stuff with them in this post. heres the link to the song if you want to listen to it and heres the genius page if you just want to read the lyrics
okay now on to what i wanted to talk about
so being completely honest i never truly knew what i meant by the "god in someone" until like half an hour ago when i really started to think about it. it was always something i knew like the idea of but could never put it into words so i just always assumed i would understand when im older. which is now proving to be true. i began really asking myself the question of what it means after i released another song called "overcoming toxicity" where theres an interpolation of the chorus from do you see your god in me at the end. ill talk more about that song in another post because it has its own history that requires its own explanation but my point is that it all came to a conclusion not tonight while i was walking around thinking of what i want to eat.
i always knew the god in someone would likely need to be revealed through their death. most likely suicide. that was the idea i had when writing the song at least. this is because in nge kaworu is an angel and he was only truly freed from his fate and was truly able to be himself when he died on his own terms at the hands of shinji. or at least thats how im interpreting those events evangelions symbolism leaves a lot of room for interpretation and tbh idk whats commonly agreed upon i just know how i perceive aspects of the story. anyways a major point in evangelion is humans not being able to understand one another when theyre alive. thats what the third impact is all about where all of humanity essentially dies and forms one collective consciousness with nothing held back. and i think this concept of the "god in someone" has a lot to do with that. but the question the title of the song asks didnt make a lot of sense. because if the god in you is revealed through death what would it mean for someone to see their god in you? thats what i always had trouble understanding and the explanation i have is subject to change and if you have your own explanation of it id love to hear it. but the conclusion i came to revolves around the lies that we tell. humans are liars. now im not saying this in a cynical way i think a lot of the lies we tell are subconscious and mostly harmless. but they do accumulate over time. and its not just the lies we tell others but the lies we tell ourselves whether we know were lying or not. ive always felt like the person inside my head is different than the person whos living my life and i think thats the god in me. the person who exists not as a result of all the lies that they tell and have been told but the person who simply exists.
the reason why i said the god in you is revealed in death and more specifically suicide is because of how brutally honest death is and how vulnerable and honest suicide is. now this isnt me glorifying death or suicide just to be completely clear this is coming from someone whos struggled with suicidal thoughts and contemplation. its because ive dealt with those thoughts that ik how honest it is. its honest to the point its almost scary its like its too real. but my point is the actions you take when approaching death are likely going to be as close as to the real you as possible. any last words or actions will be as genuine as possible because you know you wont have a chance to do anything else. now of course this isnt universal whatever exceptions to what im saying are valid contradictions im not saying this is law im just explaining my thoughts that have already filtered those possibilities out and this is already long enough without me explaining every exception to everything i say.
now the term "god" is used because of the connection to nge with kaworu being an angel but i thought ab it and decided that this definition can be helpful in coming to another conclusion
"the creator and ruler of the universe and source of all moral authority; the supreme being."
the world only exists to us how we perceive it so our minds are actively creating (being used in a loose sense) the universe by experiencing it through our senses and because we can be aware of this our minds dont really exist within the universe as we experience it. so in a way we are our own gods as we can choose (to a certain extent) how to perceive the world around us.
now getting back to the question of "do you see your god in me" i think it all comes down to truly being able to relate to another person and fell comfortable and understood by them and for you to also be relatable, comforting, and able to understand them. its a mutual connection the 2 of you share when theres nothing holding you back. it seems so simple but i think its such a unique and beautiful experience.
tbh thats really all ive figured out about that aspect of it so far. like i said i only really came to understand it recently and everything else i have to say has more to do with overcoming toxicity which honestly deserves its own post bc there are a lot of strong thoughts and feelings involving that song that doesnt just include this topic. so i think im just gonna end it here.
as always if u read all this bullshit ty ik im a generational yapper but it helps alleviate the stress of having it all in my head.
