#horror is a fascinating genre to me and i do looove working with it #and i believe the best way to improve your writing and art is to engage with other media. so you can learn from others! #like even if you end up hating a certain book or movie or show or video game or whatever that's a valuable experience... #because now you know what not to do in your own works! #but because i'm too scared to actually properly watch or read or play horror i feel like my horror writing and concepts may be lacking.. #so i like to pull up random horror movies sometimes and look into their plots and the characters #and if they were adapted/inspired from a book i'll look into that too #looking at silence of the lambs atm. didn't know this was a horror movie i thought it was like #idk. a coming of age story about a sheep herder😭???

I get that theres a lot fun to be had, when designing dol characters, to really lean into the differences of a masc vs fem version.

But I generally prefer creating character designs that really cater to/capture the feel and personality of a character. So there wont be that many drastic differences between my versions, regardless of sex or gender

#I have this weird memory #my dad has a literal personal grudge against Richard Nixon #which like. who doesn’t right? but my dad isn’t concerned abt politics at all really he’s a midwestern normie with anxiety and addiction #but he f*cking HATES Richard Nixon with a passion #so much so that he made this art piece (lmfao😩😭💀)… that’s this half gold plated rusted frame with a U.S. stamp of Nixon’s face in it #and it took him literally f*cking forever to make this I REMEMBER #like years practically idk (I was little) #anyway I asked him once… something like ‘oh why’s it taking so long) #and he gave some convoluted answer abt like. him being slow at art and taking his time #and also gold plating being hard or smth #lol #but I never understood it until now #for me… writing is like. hard labor. Anyway, I wanted to say, that I REALLY adore your style. Your art style is my favourite in the whole Poppy Playtime fandom, really. I'm not joking. Especially monster Catnap, he looks just like a dream. Oh, and Dogday too. Honestly , it pisses me off, when people draws them too human like or furry like, but yours? Mwa, perfect.
