hello!! happy wincest wednesday! I'm not great at coming up with questions but-- are there any aspects of wincest or any tropes or angles you've been thinking about recently that are making you go particularly nuts???

This is a good and fun question!

So... I'm kind of an intense nerd who has people pleasing syndrome as well as fun traits like issues with choice paralysis, so picking one of my many many many ideas is very difficult, so in order to keep track of things I am interested for me, I have a document that is called "iddy ideas" which are essentially concepts that speak directly to my id. I'm gonna use the headers as way to answer this because otherwise I will forget something and it'll bug me, so things that live in my psyche re: Winchesters are:

→ DEAN & GENDER: I have a few asks in drafts that need answering about this topic, so I will keep this sort of brief—I am really into how Dean and his relationship to gender, and how the roles he plays in life force him into one box or another. I tend to headcanon him on the nonbinary/genderfluid spectrum, even if he’d never personally identify as either. I love exploring how he often uses toxic masculinity as a shield and how he uses it to cover up the more vulnerable aspects of his desires and identity. As for the Sam/Dean angle, I really love Sam figuring it out and using lingerie kink and feminization kink as a way for Dean to explore in a way that doesn’t completely freak him out. There’s a long fic in my head that I’ve been too nervous to write about this.

→ OMEGAVERSE & PREGNANCY: I have come up with so many ways to get Dean pregnant because I think about this topic so often. I won’t bore you with the list. I am unfortunately a sucker for pregnancy and kid fics as a trope. I don’t often read them because I prefer realism in the sense that the kid has to feel like an actual kid to me and not a symbol of happiness and completeness. For Sam/Dean, I enjoy the fucked up aspects of having a kid with your brother and how they would be so into that because it’s combining themselves into another living being, that they made together, ultimate symbol of their intense incestuous love. I also think Dean very much wants kids, but didn’t think he could have them with Sam, while I think Sam would really only want to have kids with Dean. I have many AUs where it is also the worst possible time for this to happen because I live for the melodrama. I also like post-pregnancy and seeing the kids grow up to be fucked up in their own special and unique ways.

→ DOMESTICITY & DISABILITY: I am simple and sometimes I want to force Sam and Dean to retire and live in a little cabin or cottage in the woods somewhere so they can grow old. Often, I think for the only way that makes sense for them to do so is if one or both were physically incapable of hunting anymore. I love them being forced to slow down and take care of one another. Given their lives, permenent injury is pretty likely and I love exploring the ways in which they'd have to grow and adjust to their new realities. Also, I kind of just want certain ideas presented in canon explored? Like Sam's issues with his sense of reality and hallucinations, or both of them having chronic pain. Plus, there should be more finale AUs where Dean lives, but he has mobility issues now.

→ WINCHESTERS & RAPE RECOVERY: Both Sam and Dean are rape survivors who repeatedly are sexually assaulted throughout the narrative, but they both react so differently to similar traumas and I would like to have this explored since the show wouldn't. Hell trauma also goes under this umbrella. I am fascinated by the ways in which Sam and Dean are mirrors and foils, and would like to explore the interiority of that. I’m also very into concepts and ideas that explore how their respective trauma informs some of their kinks i.e. I think post-s7 Sam especially wants more pain kink and D/s where he submits to get out of his own head and Dean struggling with the dom role due to his trauma from hell where he was put into the position of torturer and rapist, and them having to figure out to make that work without sending Dean into a tailspin.

→ CONSENT ISSUES: I love fuck or die, sex pollen, curses, and all related tropes. I also like "dark" versions of Sam or Dean (Demon!Dean, Soulless!Sam, Shapeshifters, Leviathans, etc.) menacing and putting the other in situations. I will never tire of this.

→ BOY KING SAM & MAGIC: Sam should be able to always have his powers as a treat. He should be able to be a little evil as a treat. Sam should get to go full on witchy as a treat. I love the demon blood arc, I love psychic wonder Sam, I love Sam who puts hex bags in witches mouthes and tells them he learned from the best. I am from the ancient times and watched the season three finale live, so my formative years were shaped by so many Sam becomes The Boy King and rescues Dean from hell fix it fics and AUs, and so it's always a favorite. I am currently writing one that is very slow going, but as a general vibe check I am calling it Sam's Moving Castle and "suiteverse but nice".

→ WEREWOLVES & MONSTER WINCHESTERS: I love werewolves and I want Sam and Dean to be werewolves and be a pack of two. But I'm not picky and would like them to be any sort of monster. I think the show was too scared of upsetting the status quo and permanently transforming them into monsters, which is a shame, but now it is now my hyperfixation when it comes to fic for them.

OKAY NEW HEADCANON

Barnacles is smaller than other male polar bears. He’s an iddy biddy guy. He’s still tall in comparison to the other octonauts, and very strong (if anything, his small size for his species caused him to improve his strength), but if he were to stand next to another male polar bear, the difference would be obvious. Also explains why he is the same height as his twin, Bianca, because females are typically smaller than males.

well. okay so.

first of all to get it out of the way - i think ai voice shit is morally abhorrent unless the actor themselves gives consent. even then i have concerns because this can be used for extremely damaging and dangerous things. so.. mods that give him a higher pitched, feminine voice? despise. burn it all to the ground. i feel so furious over shit like this i can't even debate it

mods that change gale to look more feminine.. well. this honestly ties into the genderbend debate. how do i feel about genderbending a character in a way that completely changes their body? if gale took estrogen he wouldn't suddenly have what people would call a 'womans frame' - like those mods do. so instead the mods that turn gale into a woman are turning him into a ciswoman. if you want transfem gale just make him transfem without actually changing him. headcanon that the characters do his makeup and he got some iddy bitty titties. yknow. that is unless you put magic in the picture - as far as i know there is only two cases of this happening and it involves gods. the first one was mystra forcibly changing elminster into a woman without his consent, the other is the changedance, done by eilistraee female and male priests, where they undergo a ritual to temporarily change themselves into the opposite sex - but it was never permanent.

it's also a little difficult because my transmasc gale headcanon is very dear to me, to the point i cannot separate gale from it. i know people who have many gender headcanons for gale from transfem to nonbinary - wizards are inherently very fun to play with when it comes to gender. personally i feel dysphoric when i see gale looking like a woman.

at the end of the day what someone does in their single player game isn't any of my business, and i am working on judging people for what they do - beyond laughing at screenshots i funny. if you wanna mod gale into a woman with an ai high pitched voice.. it's none of my business. but if i see it on my dash i will probably block you for my own comfort.

also - please don't send me asks in the future about ftm or mft - i find these terms to be offensive, personally.

I had a moment with a servermate recently that kind of threw me for a loop and I wanted to discuss and ask for more inputs. I was talking with a servermate in DMs and she mentioned how for a certain kink we discussed she did get like anything out of it, when I asked for clarification she was like "it doesn't, like, AROUSE me" and that made me reel back mentally and from her because I NEVER had arousal EVER discussing smut and headcanons with ANYONE else. It is just fun hype normal for me, enjoy and laugh and move on. Could do it anytime anywhere without blinking. And I didn't want to KNOWINGLY now be a part of that when we obviously got different things out of it. I had a talk with her after about my boundaries with that and it was a weird talk but fine in the end. I just never considered this being a such a common thing, because other sevrer people have been like "oh this art makes em feel X".

I'm not ace-spec but I have a different than most threshold when it comes to sex and my own arousal.

I don't mean to sound like, shocked about the core concept people finding fic/art/headcanons hot, no not at all. Just surprised that it's Common and people are that open about it after ONE convo. (If I sound too prudish feel free to tell me, I worry my words aren't coming off right)

So I ask this to everyone else: do you get turned on talking about sexy headcanons or reading fic? If so is it often? And I follow that with, do you act on it?

Do I masturbate while reading horny fanfic? Yes. Frequently. And also super iddy, emotional fic that contains no sex if it has the right cathartic emotions. And also while watching pimple popping videos.

Will I discuss this with a total stranger if they bring it up? Clearly.

(TBH, it's the details of masturbation I consider personal and intimate. I think it's good for public health to openly discuss that women do masturbate. I'm of the opinion that many cultures' reticence about it goes hand-in-hand with how we treat menstruation and all other discussions of women's health as TMI. Fuck that!)

I don't typically get super aroused while discussing fic or tropes. Maybe very mildly, but discussion is more of an intellectual thing for me, a bit removed from bodily reactions. Though, I suppose one can always be suddenly and uncomfortably aroused in some surprising situation.

From how you phrased this, it sounds like you think your conversation itself was doing it for your conversation partner, like she was secretly having a wank every time you talked about tropes. But I'd normally assume "that kink doesn't do anything for me" means it doesn't do anything for them in the context of reading fic.

The purpose of porn is to get one off.

When you "get something out of" kinks, that something is arousal.

Plenty of art has multiple purposes and more going on than just this, but one of the major purposes of a lot of art is to make people horny. If you're discussing fic kinks with people, I think you should expect that they might discuss arousal and how it applies to them. You've already opened that door by having your first conversation be about porn. I do find it a bit rude to masturbate to a conversation if it isn't a mutual and open thing, but accidental arousal is common and not a big deal.

For me personally, "I like kink X in fic" and "kink X arouses me" are the same statement in most cases, though perhaps to more and less visceral and immediate degrees. If you think your friend was majorly getting off on the conversation, yes, I can see how that would cross a boundary, but is that actually what happened here?

Trapped or Stranded

I’m here for this trope, but I’m only moderately enthusiastic, and I think that’s because it removes Peter and Tony from the context of society. And the societal context of their relationship is something I’m really into. That hyper-awareness of what it looks like from the outside. “How obvious is it I’m in love with him? How obvious is it I want to touch him? Am I hiding it well enough? People would be disgusted if they could see what’s in my head.” All that kind of stuff.

So truth be told, when I think about stranded fics, I mostly think about the theoretical second half of the fic, where they make it back to civilization, and instead of a happy ending, everything just gets angstier and more complicated. Because they got used to being a certain way with each other when they were alone and completely reliant on each other, and now suddenly they’re not alone anymore, and they have to try to go back to how things were before—but it all feels intensely wrong now, like something is being ripped away from them. And also maybe they’re a bit traumatized from whatever they went through while stranded, so they need to take comfort in each other now more than ever, but they feel like they can’t. Basically, yes, all the angst please. Just keep adding angst. I’ll take my angst on the rocks, if you can do it. 🥃😲

Fucking By Proxy

I love this trope when it’s done just right. However, I will borrow part of @learned-foot’s answer and say that I’m very monoshippy, so this trope can go wrong pretty easily for me. I have two basic tenets for this trope that determine whether I’m going to like it.

1. Neither Peter nor Tony can be genuinely attracted to the proxy. The narrative has to be clear on the fact that, secretly, they both just want each other.

2. If it’s Peter’s first time, the proxy can’t fuck Peter. 🍆🚫

Shout-out to Proxy by @cagestark, which is delightful, and is kind of the quintessential Starker fucking by proxy fic.

Wings

I’m not opposed to wingfic, but it doesn’t really have any immediate appeal for me, either. I liked wingfic when I was in the Sherlock fandom, but to me, giving the Avengers wings is just...kind of gilding the lily? Like, they already have superpowers, and some of them are already magic. Giving them wings doesn’t make them any more special or interesting, it just feels like one more sort of discordant fantastical element in a story that’s already full of crazy, wild elements. But that’s just me.

A/B/O

Oh boy, okay, so I have a lot of feelings about ABO. A LOT of feelings. Those feelings range from “Kill it with fire” all the way to “This is the only thing I want to fantasize about for the rest of my life.”

Things about ABO I love include heat!sex, knots, self-lubricating butts, all the best parts of size-kink and none of the buzzkill aspects—and sometimes mpreg.

OTOH, noncon and abusive ship dynamics are big squicks for me. Also, gender essentialism makes me intensely ragey. So that’s where the “kill it with fire” feelings sometimes come in—because obviously those elements can be pretty significant aspects of ABO.

I have read a ton of ABO, though, and generally my positive feelings about it very much outweigh my negative feelings about it. For all that I’ve been profoundly squicked out by ABO on twenty separate occasions, I’ve also…uh, very much enjoyed ABO on many, many occasions. Lol. And since I’m here talking about ABO anyway...

The Much Abbreviated Version of My ABO Headcanon That Absolutely No One Asked For (warning for Mpreg):

I, uh…may have a wildly self-indulgent four-thousand word ABO “imagine” in my Starker folder, in which Peter and Tony get stuck in the lab on lockdown, and Peter goes into an early heat (probably due to spending so much time with the virile alpha he desperately wants to fuck him). They try really hard to control themselves but for ~some reason~ Peter’s pheromones are flying particularly fast and thick for that heat, and they end up fucking wildly.

Afterwards Tony guilt-spirals and holds Peter at arm’s length for weeks. Then Peter goes off to MIT and doesn’t realize he’s pregnant for five months because lol male Omegas don’t get pregnant—except surprise! Male spider Omegas apparently do!

As the months pass, Peter and Tony feel increasingly run-down, on-edge, and desperate to be around each other. It’s some kind of “parenthood drive” that expecting A/O pairs have. But they can’t be around each other because Peter is going to MIT, and also because Tony doesn’t trust himself to be alone with Peter anymore.

Eventually the pieces click into place in Peter’s mind that, as crazy as it is, he might be knocked up. He panics and hides the pregnancy, because Mr Stark can’t know; he’ll feel responsible and it’ll ruin his life and it’ll ruin the relationship they’ve slowly managed to put back together after what happened during the lab lock-down that summer. Plus, it’s not like he can just go to a hospital. What’s he gonna do, be like, “Hey, I’m a guy but I think I might be knocked up, also I’m Spider-Man, please don’t tell anyone”? (Peter has a retroverted uterus and really strong abs, so he doesn’t show very much. He wears sweaters constantly. Just go with it.) Whump, angst, angst, whump. Peter is really not okay by this point; Tony’s not doing so hot either. A/O biology really, really does not approve of Alphas and Omegas spending almost an entire pregnancy apart. More whump. More angst. (But also Peter still being strong and resilient despite everything.)

And then, possibly, Peter goes into labor six weeks early and gives birth quite suddenly on a jet. Because lol, why not. It also may or may not be a complete surprise to everyone on said jet who is not Peter. And also a little bit of a surprise to Peter, because, like, he’s only ever had sex the one time, in heat or otherwise, and 32 weeks is not nine months, so this really should not be happening now, he thought he had time, wtf wtf wtf.

Also, in the end, Pepper (who hasn’t been with Tony for years) adopts the baby, because she wants a child and has had difficulty conceiving. And because Peter very much isn’t ready to be a parent, and isn’t even sure if he wants to be. And Tony is very, very okay with that. He may be almost fifty but he’s not ready to suddenly be a parent either—even though he loves Peter and he would love their baby if keeping it was what Peter wanted.

It is the iddiest fic of all the fics, and very much not on-brand for me, but wow I want it, don’t judge me. 👀

(Also, obviously, someone who likes kidfic more than I do could have them keep the baby. I just have a personal thing where I’m 1. not very into kidfic, and 2. squicked by “unplanned parenthood” story lines.)

29. Your thoughts on Sam and demon blood?

Again, all the yay in the world! (Surprising exactly no one who knows me :D) For a couple reasons, actually.

Yeah, okay sure, I've got a blood kink, so there's that. It's hot, it's iddy. Fight me. But there's also all the delicious baggage tied up in the demon blood plot. Sam was tainted with it, beyond his control. He had no say in this corruption, but had to suffer that bassline beat of it, thrumming through his veins, for all of his childhood and a good chunk of his adult life. (It's my headcanon that it never completely burned away because he never completed the Trials and that shit got incorporated into him on a genetic level, but I digress a tad). So here's Sam, feeling like a freak, unclean, unworthy, all through his formative years. That cannot help but do a number on one's psyche, especially given the family business. No one should wonder why Sam initially fought for a life that was "safe". In spite of this, however, he rises above. It takes some doing, though. He stumbles through addiction (wherein he gets buff and bloody and is it just me or is the room getting warm?), through a bit of hubris (because Sam values his own intellect and Ruby had him wrapped around her little finger—his dealer, his drug), but we cannot forget the WHY. He thinks he can make change. He can use this "flaw" as a merit. He can be the monster that saves the village. Or even the world. And with Dean's help (and sometimes in spite of Dean, and Cas for that matter), he does just that.

So yeah, big thumbs-up on the red stuff!

I'm glad to hear you're not going anywhere Gffa. A lot of creators has recently gone MIA due to recent stuff, I heard even a few got death threats over fictional stuff. So its a relief to know you'll be here.

I can never guarantee anything! I mean, honestly, the Obi-Wan series could be a complete shitshow of ~aCtUAllY jEdi bAD~ and that would finally drive me from the franchise. I might have people constantly checking my blog and making shitty passive aggressive posts about me for over a year all over again in a way that really fucks with my boundaries. I might have more suicide baiting in my inbox. I might just get so tired of people constantly thinking I'm here to be dragged into whatever argument they want to have with me, that I finally walk away. I struggle with a lot of mental illness stuff and fandom does often help with that, I love many of the people I have met here, I love many of the corners that we've built for ourselves! I find a lot of emotional support here and a distraction from how the real world is really on fire and I don't plan to move on from that any time soon! But this fandom is all too often a hellscape and I don't think there are many people who are totally immune to it, including me. And I don't mean to rain on a parade here, I appreciate that you sent a very sweet message and are trying to inject some positivity into this place, which I'm glad you did! Your message is perfectly fine! I just want to be clear that fandom should remember that everyone they're interacting with is a real person who has boundaries and limits that should be kept in mind. I don't mean that everyone is fragile and has to be treated like glass, but that a big part of the health of a community is in being able to interact with another human being as a human being. That death threats and suicide baiting are not fucking okay ever, that shit does real damage to real people. Anyway, sorry, you caught me on an anxiety spike night, but I mean I've been in this hellpit for six years now, and unless Genshin Impact starts giving me the iddy fic I want en masse, I'm probably not going to be leaving any time soon. 😂 The SW fic is just too good and all my fellow feral Jedi fan gremlins are too delightful and like someone probably just posted some explicit fic I'm going to read tonight and have fizzy thoughts over and someone else is going to post another amazing gifset in about five minutes and someone else is going to do a cute headcanon post and that'll be the stuff we can take solace in and a good reason to stay. ❤️
