here's a fun one for you guys today: the source for world famous Nightcore DJ Anime Girl pic

ends up that was surprisingly easy to find (though i can't seem to find any good quality versions of this image for some goddamn reason)

this is not an original oc art or fanart as i had expected, but an official CG art of the character Ichinose Kyou for a Japanese Eroge game called Imitation Lover ( イミテーション・ラバー ) that was released on January 27, 2006, by an indie japanese game company called light

the artist who drew this CG, as well as all art for the game, is Izumi Mahiru, a freelancer japanese illustrator who has worked on several old VNs and is seemingly still active online and taking art jobs to this day

there isn't much else i can say about it, it doesn't look like the game or anything related to it has ever been translated from japanese, which sure makes me wonder how this specific image ended up getting famous in the west completely detached from its context
