am i the only writer who does not find comments of “please continue!!” or “we need another chapter!!” to be a compliment on a fanfic and lowkey find them deeply grating instead

like how do i make it clear in my author notes at the start that i don’t write serialized things, i am writing a complete story where the word count is the fucking word count and the chapter count is the FUCKING CHAPTER COUNT, and warn people i get insulted if they ask for more... like it feels like im a chef who made a perfectly portioned meal designed to be the exact correct balance and serving of those ingredients and then someone loudly tells me (usually without even actually complimenting the food first) that I should bring them seconds. and im just standing there like the chef in that murdering chef movie like ‘if u question my fucking JUDGEMENT ON LENGTH u question me as an artist’???

i for real for real 100 per cent know it is not that deep but i cannot help it, my brain goes ‘u think i don’t know when THE END of my own story is???’

like unless i explicitly state in the final author notes that i am thinking about writing an epilogue or a sequel, i just straight up don’t want to see people asking for more. like i KNOW you’re trying to give me a compliment, but please just learn how to tell me something you actually liked about the thousands of words i ALREADY WROTE, i am looking for a crumb of validation here!!!

i understand that there are loads of fic writers who genuinely write more or less of a story based on the demand, because their writing flow IS that they like writing a serialized piece and they can expand forever on the concept until they decide they would like to wrap it up -- but that is not me and i guess i just need to be blunter in my author notes and be like ‘THERE WILL BE NO CONTINUATION’ like if that’s the only kind of comment you know how to leave, just say ‘looking forward to reading the next thing you write!!’ and we’re chill!!

anyway i’m never ever posting a story in more than one chapter ever again, it’s oneshots only for me babe, the commenters know how to ACT in those comment sections

Omw to work, so while in train I'm gonna write my romance hc for our beloved vampire spawn, Astarion Ancunin, husband material.

- It's all fun and do-not-catch-feelings sexy encounters at first. He's quite rude once he has done the deed and he shows no signs of affection towards Tav. We all know this, right?

- Astarion actually falls hard and fast in love the moment Tav treats him like a person, but fuck if he's going to allow himself show it to them.

- He's the last one to fall asleep at the camp, looking at Tav from his opposite side of the fire and wondering where the other shoe will fall, if Tav is just as good as they seem to be or if they're just using him.

- Fake it until you make it, it's Astarion's motto. After 200 years of slavery and forced debauchery, Astarion is good at faking his interest in someone. Sadly, he doesn't know how to fake that he is not interested in someone instead, never has to do that, so he tries hard to not show to Tav that his feelings have developed into something else. He does everything to maintain his charming, nonchalant devil-may-care demeanour.

- Astarion is convinced Tav is going to leave him behind, or worse, betray him. The question is not if but when Tav will do it.

- After Moonrise Tower: Astarion accepts not only his feelings towards Tav, but he accepts Tav's feelings for him.

- Astarion develops his own love language, and no matter how good he is with words and flattery, his love language is touch (non-sexual) and quality time. Small tokens of affection that allow Tav knows that the vampire wants this: he likes to curl his little finger around Tav's whenever he can. Feather light caresses.

- Even after all, he loves to be the big spoon, he noses Tav's pulse and inhales, holding them tightly. From the outsiders can seem possessive, but Tav knows it's protectiveness. Astarion needs to know Tav is safe.

- Astarion do enjoy kisses, but it overwhelms him. The moment Tav shows him that they can kiss without needing to move things forward, Astarion let's himself truly enjoy it.

- From time to time, Astarion still stays awake thinking that Tav will someday break up with him for not wanting to have sex. Those nights he squirms and leaves their shared bedroll just to come back later and demands to be the little spoon.

- Post Cazador quest (not ascended Astarion): Astarion wants to have sex again, with Tav, and he tries and success. But after that, sometimes he still dissociates during sex and/or drops. If Tav stops, Astarion will feel like a failure and once again the fear creeps in, it takes him some time to accept and allow Tav to take care of him and to believe that it's ok.

- He's the most devoted husband Tav ever could ask for.

Those are some of my hc about Astarion in a relationship with Tav. Dealing with sex related trauma it's not easy, it's not easy intimacy, but fuck, I do love to believe that Tav will stay with Astarion because my poor little vampire babygirl deserves to be loved unconditonally (we all deserve that).

Hi anon! First of all, thank you for considering me for this request in the first place, but I regret to inform you that I must reject this request and that I won't be writing anything for it. I will try to explain myself as concisely as possible, but it's still gonna be a long passage so I hope you bear with me. And I encourage my other readers/followers/just fanfic readers in general to read this as well because it's important.

The reason I decided not to write anything for this request is because I just recently stumbled upon a requested fic, written by another author, with an eerily similar plot to this one. There's a chance I'm making a wrong assumption here, but I did ask a friend of mine to compare the two requests, and she also agrees that they are too similar to just be a coincidence. And honestly, I don't appreciate people sending in their requests to me if they're just gonna copy it (with a few tweaks here and there) and send the same ask to another writer's inbox. It's rude. It's disrespectful. And from this point forward, I will be denying ANY request that comes my way if I saw you had already sent the same (or a very similar one) to another author beforehand.

Maybe some of you think this isn't a big deal, but for me, it is. When you send in the same requests to me and multiple other authors, it makes me feel depreciated as a human being. It makes me feel like you view me only as a robot/machine/an AI with no other purpose than to write you fics after fics after fics. I get it, it's harder to perceive someone as another human being when we're all hiding behind our online personas, but just like you and everyone else, all fanfic writers on this platform and I have our own lives. I'm not a fic-producing machine that you can just exchange for another one when you feel like I'm not posting or writing fast enough to your liking.

I know it can be frustrating. I know that some of you might not be as patient to wait longer for authors to publish your requests, but guess what? It's still not an excuse for you to treat us as less than human beings or like we're disposable! Especially when most fanfic writers are doing this FOR FREE. So it shouldn't matter if it takes fanfic writers a week, a month, or a whole year to write something, we still don't owe you anything because it's not like you're paying for us anyway.

I'm a full-time college student in the middle of writing my thesis. I'm running on barely any sleep as it is and as much as I don't want it, writing requests do have to be put on the back burner once in awhile. This is just something you have to accept as fanfic readers. If you can't handle it, then you can literally just take your request to ChatGPT or something and request it to write it for you. I'm not a fan of AI myself, but this is a much better option than just reducing fanfic writers to a fic-producing machine.

So yeah, with that said, I deeply regret that I must deny this request. I'm sorry if I made you wait too long for it, but again, it's still not enough imo to justify what you did. Even if I weren't as busy as I was, requests are still gonna take some time to write—do you know why? Because I always take time to make sure that the contents I post are up to a certain standard. Sometimes I'd even write multiple versions for a request and post one that I deem the best among the others. That's how much I care about the fics I'm putting out even when I'm doing this for free. Fanfic readers tend to forget that the 2000-word stories you managed to finish in a couple of minutes were born out of labors of love that could take DAYS for the writers to complete. And we do it all sometimes without being fairly compensated as well (have you seen the contrast between comments/reblogs and likes for fics in this platform???? It's APPALLING). So really, asking you to please please please not send the same request to different authors should be considered the bare minimum.

In conclusion, I really hope that you can put a stop to this habit for the sake of everyone involved. I'm not saying you shouldn't be sending requests to different authors at the same time, but just make sure that you give us different plots so each writer is given the chance to show off their creativity in their own unique ways. I apologize again if I seemed too hostile in this post, it wasn't my intention at all. Please don't be discouraged from sending another request in the future because of this. I just hope there was something to be learned from what I wrote here. I hope you have a good day! ❤️

So, we might've just gone against the "let's stay away from r/syscringe" like you suggested, oops. In my defence, no meds right now (psych appointment is in a month) and also just wanted to see. ANYWAYS. We were getting made fun of again because we made a post pointing out how stupid r/syscringe is for posting us. We got made fun of for trying to cutify it (because somehow the fact that most that I (RAB) know of are fictives is cutifying it?? Sorry that it's how we coped through trauma was to absorb ourselves in media and that not everyone is comfortable talking OR don't want to be on the blog).

Mind you this is the same subreddit that posts about things going on in the endo drama sphere and laugh about it and half in the comments agree with some shit that endos spew. Like dude wtf???

Sorry for venting, Shining. Really, we just. We saw comments saying that some people can help not scrolling. They don't get what it's like to have almost like a voice (not an alter but kind of when someone's talking about hearing their conscious?) in the back of their head going "you need to check, something bad is being said about you". Which if anyone on that subreddit sees this, yes I'm in therapy dickwads.

Don’t apologize, it can’t be helped sometimes. We do the same and we’ve just gotten annoyed with the subreddit for allowing bullying and harassment. That’s what they do and they never truly get taken down.

Reddit isn’t the best form of social media with how people that stay there can be. The online types that will actively make sure that you feel bad for them and what not.

The best thing you can do is ignore it, but at the same time it’s hard. When we look, we go and see the blasphemy that they’re talking about. How wrong they’re getting things. They’re taking posts out of context and wanting to cause harm to people.

Don’t let them bring you down or let them, the people that are notorious for believing that DID/OSDD & RAMCOA doesn’t exist, on if you are or aren’t faking. They’ll always belittle people that have undergone trauma. They’ll just make it more traumatizing for someone.

The subreddit doesn’t deserve your attention and if you struggle with going, try doing something else until it passes. They’ll always be rude and they’ll never be nice because for them, harming others is the best thing you can do when you live a sad life like they do.

They won’t learn or correct their ways, no point in trying to believe what they say.

Have I rambled here yet about my J&H-AU, in which Jekyll's soul is stuck inside an old CRT monitor/computer??? No?????

Anyways, rambling time then. Lots of text under text cut, lmao, this post gets long <3

I'm copying this stuff off my Discord messages:

Basically yes, he died but instead of going to actual proper afterlife... this Jekyll's soul got basically stuck inside a 1990's/early 2000's CRT monitor, but whatever computer is attached to him; he can control it freely whenever it's on or in sleep mode. Also all the devices (like the microphone, headphones, speakers, webcam etc.) that are attached onto that computer, he can access freely. But he uses those as his senses pretty much, as his hearing and sight primarily. Like the microphone for example, it's his ears pretty much: if someone were to try talk to him, they would need to use the microphone. And speakers (or headphones) are his mouth, letting the other person hear what he wants to say. And if there's no speakers or headphones available, Jekyll just generates his replies as text on the screen and accepts text replies from the other person back (as without the microphone attached, Jekyll is basically completely deaf; without the speakers/headphones, he loses his voice). Webcam then is his eyes and so on, unless it's got tape on it or is otherwise blocked. Though imagine how pissed off Jekyll must be when everything he's able to see, is through some crunchy 480p potato quality webcam. /j

His voice has some remnants of his accent and old "human" voice, but it's now more mechanical and computer-like, basically kinda like those really old text-to-speech stuff from like the 80's or 90's. It's an oddly soothing calm voice though, not a terrifying one. (Unless Hyde appears.) He loves floppy disks and CD's etc, those are like snacks to him. Degaussing the CRT monitor also feels like tickling to him and he enjoys it. Gonna mention some depressing stuff briefly though, but this Jekyll is also forgetting what he actually looked like as a human… so sometimes when there's no one else around and the computer is in sleep mode (or open), he might try to open a program and try generate himself his face and appearance. Trying to figure out what he looked like, but unfortunately in vain; as most of the images are either totally jumbled data. Kind of like those uncanny AI-generated images. And some of the images he tries generating, no matter how close they look to his original human self, none of them feels right to him. </3

Also yes, since he can control an entire computer pretty much (only when it's on; otherwise if there was a power outage or someone turned off the power, he wouldn't be able to do much. He doesn't get hurt or go unconscious if the computer is off, he just can't do anything then), he can use the internet too or comment on whatever the computer user's doing on their computer. Jekyll mostly just sucks though, as he's often sarcastic, snarky and he's also still extremely smug. Plain rude 50 y.o. man, lol. Judging the user's actions or telling them to go outside. Though he also often just minds his own business and doesn't care what the user does on the computer. He's a cranky man after all and needs his naps often /j … and most of the time though, he's calm. He can even be really helpful and kind, if he really takes a liking to the computer user and befriends them. He's a doctor after all.... and he can also access Wikipedia anytime, lmao. He's basically like a personal PC assistant (eg. BonziBuddy, lmao), but million times worse.

Hyde then is basically just a very loud self-destructive malware/virus/glitch, that sometimes randomly takes over and tries to destroy itself/Jekyll out of sheer hatred; usually messing up the computer badly, and Jekyll then has to clean up the mess afterwards. Hyde speaks in a very terrible distorted electronic voice, or actually he pretty much just. Yells and screams a lot. The screams are distorted and chopped up, or otherwise glitched. He however appears usually only for a short time and then disappears into thin air for some time, at least until Jekyll gets stressed out again or experiences other such strong emotions.

Probably forgot a ton of details from all that, but yeah lmao, that's pretty much it..... computer Jekyll....... or you could say..... Tech-yll.......

OK I'm gonna send several asks about Orca OC because I've been thinking about several different ideas and I wanna separate them.

First, just some ideas to bounce names off you and see if you like any of then. Zora names are usually two syllables (sometimes three), and carry something of a heavier vowel focus. Here are a few of the ideas that I think sort of capture a "Zora" vibe and I hoped maybe one of them would get you going in the direction you want for the character.

Fura-- sounds like fury, just thought it was neat

Larunda-- straight up stole this name from a water nymph but it sounds extremely Zora-like. You could also go with its variant "Laru". Does come with the risk of sounding too much like the already existent "Laruta" though.

Sera/Sela-- tweaked version of French word for "salt" because she's from the sea

Saumi/u/a-- brackish

Nevi-- tweaked version of Italian word for "snow"

Padot-- just threw together a bunch of Zora names for this one.

Hope these help to some extent.

Would she mop the floor with Link in a spear on spear sparring match?

It really depends. I would say she would beat him out of brute strength but Link can parry lynels, so he’s definitely monstrously strong. But she’s been training with the spear her whole life and can probably outwit him by making him angry, as long as she doesn’t lose her temper herself. I think in a no holds-barred fight she could kill him though, and post-Calamity Link when he’s just woken up wouldn’t stand a chance even if all the odds are with him.

Do you reckon she's on par with Mipha and the other Champions in terms of martial skill, or perhaps just exemplary among the Zora (but not close to a Champion), or was her appointment more of a formality like Urbosa's guards would have been?

Give her another century or 50 years of training and she absolutely would be, but pre-Calamity she’s more of a formal knight there for when Mipha’s unarmed or in a vulnerable position (resting, in unfamiliar environments, stuff like that.) I don’t think she’s like Link with Zelda and trailing her 99% of the time because that’s not even necessary for a warrior as skilled as Mipha. (Mipha’s probably an even better fighter than her knight but it’s always good to have extra support)

What are her chances against a Lynel?

She could kill it! She’s pretty big and strong so she has a higher chance of living than Mipha and Link fighting one together.

A Guardian Scout?

She’s mortal, so a beam could probably take her out, but if she got it onto the ground she could probably dismantle it fairly efficiently.

How many Moblins could she take on at once?

Realistically, probably three or four, given she’s a big target and fairly slow compared to Mipha, who I can imagine being able to take on around five or six. Together they could probably kill at least 15 tho. Teamwork makes the dream work! <3

You've already given a snapshot of what her relationship with Dorephan, Link, Mipha, and Muzu would look like, but what about her reputation/relationship with Zora's Domain as a whole? We know Link finds her intimidating, and strangers likely do too, but would the citizens of Zora's Domain feel that same intimidation or something else?

I think it depends on the Zora! The little kids would love her, since she’s friendly to them, but one of Mipha’s suitors? Or just a scab in general (or a rude tourist)? Yeah they would be terrified. She’s not someone to be immediately unfriendly but she doesn’t like rude people.

Do they perhaps look up to her, or think she's some really cool lone wolf type?

Some people would absolutely think of her as a lone wolf, but the people who actually know and spend time with her just think she’s a nice and respectful person. Little Zora and other knights look up to her. The little Zora think she’s cool, the other knights hope they can rise to a rank like hers one day.

Do they gossip about her and Mipha?

Oh absolutely xD Being a public figure like that, there’s no way they’re not getting gossiped about.

Does she have a Sidon style fan club?

I WANT HER TO OMG

Is this emotional toughness a Link-specific problem due to jealousy?

Yeah, I think so. She also worries that people don’t believe she’s fit for the job, so acts exceptionally tough and professional around people she’s insecure around.

I get that she has something of an aura of scariness, but I guess I'm curious about the particulars. Is she scary because she's the quiet, reserved, unreadable watchdog kind of person?

She’s very much like a watchdog at times and can be quite unreadable, but most people fear her because of her stature and battle prowess.

Is she easily nettled and perhaps overly forceful and aggressive like Buliara is?

No, not at all. She used to be when she was younger, but learnt that’s not helpful to anyone and just makes her charges uncomfortable.

Is she one of those people you can clearly see planning how she would dismantle you on your very first meeting?

If you’re a threat, yes. If you’re just a mildly annoying person or are acting normal and like you have no tricks up your sleeve, probably not.

How to Make Friends on Tumblr Dot Com! from a fandom perspective

1) Look for people with common interests and follow them.

The first step in finding friends on tumblr dot com is finding people who like the stuff you do. Fandom tags are great for this! Use the search function to look for fandoms you like. Find people who are talking about the things you like! Follow them.

IE: You have 'Owl House' in your bio. Use the tumblr search to look for Owl House, or if you want to specifically look for a ship, look up CHARACTER x CHARACTER. IE: Luz x Amity.

Once you've found the fan stuff you like to see, you can use the more common fandom tags fans like to use, like 'TOH' for 'the owl house' and 'lumity' for 'luz x amity'

2) Interact with the people who make and interact with the stuff you like.

There are many ways to interact on tunglr dot com.

LIKES- Hitting that heart button on a post. A like is just a thumbs up, an acknowledgement, an 'this is cool'. This is the equivalent of a passing smile. It shows someone 'I'm friendly!'

You can also use likes to bookmark things you want to reblog later, but you don't have time for right now!

REBLOGS- This is you showing things you think are cool to other people, and just saving them to look at later. Your blog is for you. It's your neat rock collection. It's your pictures in your locker. It's your scrapbook.

Leaving TAGS on your reblogs (the bar at the bottom of a post that says 'add tags') allows them

a) to be searchable on your blog. If someone sees your blog and also likes Amity, they can search for it and see all the cool Amity stuff you found if you've tagged it properly.

b) to leave notes for the creator of the post. Things like 'woah this is cool'. It's the equivalent of leaving someone a nice note. Something they can look at, save, and smile about later. Tags hold no social expectation for the creator.

It is ALWAYS better to reblog things without tags than to not reblog them at all. Why? Because we're all here to share stuff, and not reblogging because you can't do it 'right' kills the ecosystem. Sometimes I don't have the spoons for tagging. So I reblog without them.

If you feel like you have something to ADD to the post, and to the fandom discussion, you can always reblog with a post of your own added! Don't be shy about this. It's a basic function of the site. It isn't rude to do!

Being a dick in the reblog, however, is rude. If you don't like something and want to make a post about it, or you disagree, make YOUR OWN POST. You can do that. :) Just tag it appropriately so you find your target audience.

IE: You hate the Lumity ship. Do not tag your negative post LUMITY, as it will show up to all the people who like the ship. That's rude. Find the tag specifically for Lumity haters, your true brethren. Usually they're something like ANTI-LUMITY.

COMMENTS-

Comments are for when you want to say something about a post, but not add to it directly. More immediate and personal than talking in tags, commenting also invites a response from the poster instead of everyone who looks at your tags/reblog post.

Comments are NOT for telling a poster how much you dislike their opinion, their fandom, ships, or anything else like that. DO NOT DO THAT. It will not make you friends. Unless your goal is to befriend other unpleasant people. In which case um…try twitter?

ASKS-

It is OKAY to send people asks, like you sent me this. It's a good thing! It opens conversations and helps you show someone that you're interested in them as a friend! My profile specifically says I'm open to asks, and many other peoples' do too.

Just keep in mind that this is social media, and tumblr has a culture of anonymity. That means don't get too personal with it. Don't ask people things like their age, real name, relationship status, etc.

If you have trouble with social cues, it can be fraught and stressful to send asks. That's understandable. It isn't necessary to use asks to make friends.

If you do send asks, be aware: asks also do not always get answered. That's the nature of the site, and it's okay. Sometimes people forget they reblogged an ask game (me). Sometimes it's not a question they want to answer. Sometimes they don't have time/energy/context right then and there.

There are MANY reasons an ask won't be answered. No one owes you a reason or an answer. If that upsets you, sending asks may not be for you.

Please keep in mind this is an overview, and everyone is different. Check pinned posts and bios for specific preferences! <3 This is how you start being part of a fandom, which is the first step to making friends!

3) Being a Positive Part of Your Ecosystem

Now that you are interacting with the people who post the things you like, and interacting with the fandom either big or small and being a part of it, you should be adding TO the fandom in some fashion. And yes, supporting fanwork creators by reblogging, tagging, and giving likes IS adding to fandom. One big thing to remember, though.

FANS DO NOT MAKE CONTENT, FANS MAKE FAN WORKS.

If you want to keep your ecosystem friendly, casual, and fun, please treat fandom artists, writers, curators, meta-posters, etc like people. That means not having expectations of public-facing behavior, social purity, speed of creation, fandom loyalty, or manditory interaction with other fans.

a) finding followers

If you look for other fans who are reaching out for interaction, you will find people who will follow you and interact with you. Look for people posting questions, ask games, artists and writers posting their works. Look for people who are sharing what they love, and love it with them.

Interact with the people who interact with you!

If a stranger follows you, check them out! Maybe you guys have common interests. Maybe you vibrate on the same frequency.

If someone follows you back, that makes them your mutual. It doesn't really mean anything no matter what people say. All it really says is 'your stuff is cool, I want to look at it, too.' It means they vibe with you.

This isn't twitter. You don't have to be 'mutuals' to interact with each other. There are many people I like a lot that I do not follow. Why?

Because I don't want to see their Tumblr interests on my dash. Maybe they're in a fandom I Do Not Want to see. Maybe they're really into a ship I dislike. Maybe they post something that grosses me out. So I don't want to see it.

That's literally it.

Being a positive part of your ecosystem does not mean being a perfect uwu bean. It doesn't mean always being upbeat. It just means that you support the things you care about because you want to keep seeing them. It means befriending people because they seem cool. It means being genuine. It means not pushing your expectations on other people.

It also means accepting something kind of sucky.

NOT EVERYONE WANTS TO BE YOUR FRIEND.

It's a fact of life that sucks, but it's true. Put your effort in where it's rewarded. Give back what you're given from others. Don't try to fill a bucket with a hole in it.

b) using messages

DMs (direct messages) are another thing that varies from person to person. But, if you want to get to know someone on a one-to-one level, DMs are the way to go. Oftentimes people put their DM preferences in a bio or pinned post. Not everyone does.

DMs are a way of saying something in private, like sharing a link to a funny post you know they'll like(you can always use @(theirname) in the text box of a reblog if it's a tumblr post), talking in-depth about something you'd both mentioned in posts, or asking about something personal they'd posted on their blog, like a favorite recipe, or movie, or something like that.

DMs are more personal and not everyone is comfortable with them.

You should meet people at the level of friendship THEY want to give, not the one you want to have. If someone wants to chat with you in comments but not in DMs, then that's what you should do. Giving people a chance to opt-out when you message them is polite, and if they express on their blog having social anxiety, it might help them.

But DMs are not scary, or forbidden. You just have to respect people's boundaries and be clear while you're getting to know each other. If it's hard to tell if someone is okay with something, ASK. You're not a mind reader :)

c) blocking

What? How is blocking people good for fandom? Well...it's a little thing I like to call:

STRESS MANAGEMENT

Some people are assholes. Some people have Bad Takes. Some people live to pour poison into a fandom. Some people like to attack others and make up crusades so they can feel socially superior and morally pure. Some people just have a bad vibe. Some people just happen to have lots of fandom friends so you can't stop seeing their posts even though you disagree.

Block saves lives.

It's not an insult to be blocked. It's not mean to block people. It's curation. It's getting rid of things that introduce things you don't want into your happy little fandom tide pool.

Do you wanna have discussions about things in the fandom or do you just like feeling better than others whose opinions on fictional characters you don't agree with? Because I've seen your interactions with multiple people that I know, and you honestly just seem more interested in looking like your hc or opinion is the correct one.

I'm going to be starting my very first commissions soon! I am very excited but do you have any tips on what I should and shouldn't do?

Oh that’s very exciting! Hmm I have a post somewhere but I’ll just answer anyways 😂 This is gonna be insanely long

- Don’t be disappointed if you don’t get a huge amount of people asking at first. It’s all about drawing people in and growing an audience! If you don’t have an audience yet, it’s always worth it to market and advertise pretty well. Multiple social medias, using common tags, promoting in say, is discord server if you’re in one or something, all that jazz

- Pricing is very difficult and it’ll fluctuate and change over time. You’re not gonna get it down first try, and they’ll change with your workflow and what you realize you can and can’t do/handle! Personally, I took the amount of time I take on each canvas and estimated some average times (I.e. a rendered bust takes me 1.5-2 hours) and multiplied that by ah, $30 I think at first? And then doubled my prices later down the road

- Additionally however, pricing in such a way that you make good money for your time is important but, and I can’t stress this enough, PLEASE consider the people you’re advertising your work to and who follows you, what communities you’re in, etc. For myself, I’ve recently began to aim for higher quality clients who can pay more all at once and so I can get more money with less commissions stacked in my queue. Thus why my lowest price is still quite high. If you want more frequent clients, most often it’s best to keep your prices relatively low but still good value for you. Again, it’s all about finding that balance and figuring out your workflow

- Speaking of workflow, there’s no one right way to do commissions. Your process is your own and from my experience, I’ve gone through a bunch of different processes with different people! Haha, I’ve even signed a contract once to really seal the deal on the terms and conditions. Make it your own! Be as professional as you feel the need to or not. Do whatever makes you comfortable as long as it’s not at the expense of the client, of course

- You may or may not be contacted by spam bots and other accounts about your work. Believe me, it’ll happen once or twice that you might be scammed if you’re not careful (it’s happened to me twice) but if I could say, it’s usually accounts with names that don’t match their icons, using little/terrible punctuation and very automated repsonses, requesting work that’s not what you do usually, requesting work of family members/pets, offering very large sums of money, whatever else. Just be safe!

- Hmmm what else….

- Make sure you have plenty of examples of your work and the style of art/coloring that you’re advertising. If you’re offering something new, just get like 3-4 examples in and have a consistent process before having people pay money for it. I love my current rendering style but I had to wait til I had a few to know how I wanted to go about offering it as a new coloring style and how it’s different from what I would typically do

- Some clients are definitely rude and pester. It’s okay to put your foot down and say you’re not comfortable working with them. Personally, I offer up other artists if that’s the case (within reason, I don’t send rude people generally but sometimes clients get frustrated with you because you’re not the kind of artists they’ll end up wanting to work with) or if I’m just not able to do a commission because it’s, for example, out of my skill level or something. Always good to send people to artists who are open for work

- I’m actually learning this myself but if you’re working with someone who’s well known (I.e. I worked with good ol Xisumavoid), having T&Cs is useful for those larger clients. Xisuma actually gave me his terms and conditions to fill out in the invoices so if the client has that as well, it works that way too! And again, if you have questions or you’re uncomfortable by someone else’s T&Cs, say that! Believe me, they’ll work with you if they truly intend to use your work (bless that man, he was so kind and transparent about the whole process)

- Of courses you are just starting out but you never know!

That’s pretty much he main stuff. Just make sure it’s seen and clear, you’re valued and understand your value, and that everything you’ll be doing is all up to you. If you have artists friends (or myself) that you’d ever need input from, give them (or me) a holler! This is all just me, other artists have more or different ways they’d suggest going about things so if you don’t agreed with anything I’ve said, that’s alright 😌

Hmmm another Anon who didn't read closely I see, nor do you read my other posts clearly. I made this post more or less because I wanted to make a point that it isn't a J2 thing. Also that what we see with them being all brotherly love and SPN family and such is just smoke and mirrors. I know people don't agree with me on a lot of stuff regarding J2. Heck, someone got uptight with me this morning when I talked about Jared being the third wheel stuff when it comes to JDM and Jensen, but these are just observations and facts. This isn't me being anti Jared, or anti Jensen, or even anti Jeff. I'm just someone who sees past the smoke and mirrors. I'm also tired of the idiots who say "OH HOW CUTE, THEY GOT MATCHING TATTOOS, THEY'RE LIKE BROTHERS!" without reading or hearing the actual story or getting to know the actual context. For anyone who is interested in what Anon is talking about, this is the post that went live last night on Mother's Day, 5/12/2024 at 6:45pm EST.

Also, since you're probably not real familiar with my blog, I consider this a bit more of an e-journal with my spiritual experiences, divination, interpretation of things, etc. and how they tie to things relevant to my interests and such than anything else at this point that I happen to interact with people on sometimes. If someone likes my stuff or comments on it or sends me asks about it, great! It makes this a whole lot more fun for me and them too (and it helps people understand their own experiences more). But if not, meh... this stuff is more for me and perhaps anyone else who happens to be interested. I'm not here to become super popular unlike what some have said of me in the past. To each their own I say.

I've been finding that my feeling compelled to make certain posts at certain times has been because of manifestations that are about to come. Timing is everything they say, right? In the case of the post you're talking about, merely a few min after I hit "post", I walked out of the car (as I was being driven to a restaurant for mother's day dinner) and did see someone with Down Syndrome. Also, it happened to be my son's birthday yesterday at the same time. He and one other person at the restaurant had a birthday today. Of course, the neon sign the staff at the restaurant held while singing to my son AND the other person has a crown on it.

Also, the table I was seated at was C12. If we wanted to throw in the numerical value of C as far as the alphabet goes, this could be read as 312, or 3 and 12 ('cause 3 kings and 1+2=3 in numerology). As an added bonus, the server's name was Justin. I said in multiple posts how I believe 11 is a bad luck number for Jensen... but suggested 12 maybe a good luck number for him in this post here with respect to Justin and Jensen on Tracker (new J2 in the making?). I talked about the number 12 being good for Jensen with respect to him joining Justin Hartley's show Tracker as Russell Shaw, Colter's brother he was estranged from for 20 years. Funny how timing of things work out, isn't it?

As I'm getting close to posting this on 5/13/2024 at 3:48pm EST, my best friend told me at 3:41pm EST the following: "Omg girl I just saw a sticker on a car that shows stick figures of the family with the names? The parents names? Justin and Jenny" and my personal favorite which was literally JUST as I was typing about 312 being the numerical value of C12 the number number I was seated at in the last paragraph above... Who the heck are my muses anyway:

He's a little shit that causes problems and pisses people off for the heck of it. A bit of an edgelord (is that an understatement?), rude, vulgar, and extremely tough to crack if you want him in friendlier stages. Good luck. He's not going to make it easy for you.

Points of interest:

He has various verses, some things may change depending on what verse things are in. Details in his design are important and have stories behind them. In his main verses, he has extra strengthened abilities and a little extra chaotic surprise, sometimes. He has a lot of anger issues and is really shit at dealing with other emotions, often turning them into anger, too, because he doesn't know how else to handle things. He likes to think of himself as a villain, but really he's more like an anti-hero. And he's got a whole revenge case he's trying to deal out. He's got some emotional issues that he refuses to talk about, and others he will just spill because he likes to talk about himself. And he's got trust issues.

What they’ve been up to recently:

Well, this varies for people and verses. Things won't be following the same paths for everyone he interacts with. In in his main f.c5 verse, he somehow got himself in a position where he's gotta help protect the Seeds, because of the relationship he ended up in with Jacob. Everything in the B.L verses kinda got put on hold, but these days its after his Arena fell. A vampire verse, in the f.c5 land, has been distressing him. Bloody City (original) verse is getting more developments lately (yeehaw). Depends on what version you wanna deal with, really.

Where to find them:

In general modern times, usually Chicago. In the borderlands, usually Pandora. In F.C3, on Rook Islands, hanging with the pirates. In F.C5, Hope County, usually in Jacob's region. Frontier, the pirate is in Montreal in the company of Mr. Grant and Mr. Pond.

Current plans:

Plans? What are plans? We'll have to see what unfolds. Anything could happen.

Desired interactions:

Enemies to awkward found family member, enemies/rivals, slow burns of any kind of relationship (because its almost always a slow burn with him), helping him learn to cook maybe? (his whole fear of stoves and fire issue man), dad bird dad bird dad bird dad bird (has an accidentally adopted daughter in some verses btw), etc.

Uh, do you like problematic little shits? Do you like conflict? Stories are boring without conflict, after all. And it makes the good times so much more worth it, you know? I literally hate deuxmoi with all my heart. They always spread misinformation about celebrities from random people who can easily fake things. Like a while ago a person said to deuxmoi that Pedro was their neighbor and he was living with his girlfriend there cause he was filming something and they said how Pedro was always so rude and called him an as*hole psycho (like bffr) and he always shouted at them for parking near his house. Like what??? What’s the reason for posting things like this when you don’t even know if these are true and putting in the shadow a celebrity, someone like Pedro who has worked his ass off to get where he is after 30 years of acting. Like seriously, what’s the reason? Now this pregnancy rumor and him and Bella not talking to each other??? Wtf is wrong with people cmon now. I personally don’t believe the pregnancy thing either the beef with him and Bella (or whoever the other costar is)

Preferred comms: Whatever, I've never had issues with IM's personally, so I like them. But I know no one else does lol. Discord is cool, especially when we start sending memes and shit to one another.

Name of muse(s): Hibiya and Hibiko. I've had one other muse that didn't last long, I just wanted an excuse to talk about my views and opinions on music lmao. An outlet to express that to a degree, but I just didn't have anything else I wanted to say, no overarching theme or anything.

Experience in RP: Started out the classic way of rp'ing via texts with a friend, where it was like [ "Stop doing that" *laughs* ] as Izaya from Durarara. Not terribly long after I moved to tumblr cause I was already always on it on my personal account and heavy in the durarara community in 2012, 2013, cause I wanted to write as Hibiya. And that was a blast because it started showing on Adult Swim so the anime got more popular and there were just a lot of people and alters to write with.

Stopped and started a few times, but I always wrote Hibiya publically and no one else. I think I barely wrote in 2016 cause the rp side of the fandom was DEAD and I didn't really venture out to find new partners. I had also moved countries so like, wasn't thinking about writing often. Completely stopped thinking about it in 2017 and was writing songs instead. Until after I graduated college and was working fulltime, and after all the lockdowns stopped (Toronto had multiple), I needed a new creative outlet I could work on while not home and kept thinking about Hibiya and Delic and having ideas I wanted to explore. And was very lucky to find my email and password! So now I'm like, I can't imagine leaving tumblr to write somewhere else. Privately I dunno, it's so boring.

Best experiences: It's so nice to have partners that equally gush over one another's muses and relationships, sharing ideas and potential threads and even just being like "lmao if this happened, it'd be over" / "I can't stop thinking about x."

Plus I mean to be honest, it's so, so exciting and nice to hear people excited to write with me and ask about my muses, having genuine curiosity. Asking questions I've never thought of and pushing them to be more developed and fleshed out. I love posting a reply or answering a meme and immediately getting pinged on discord of someone panicking and talking to me about it.

Pet peeves / dealbreakers: Too much ooc is the main reason I end up unfollowing people. Which like, listen, it's not like I outright say, I don't care about you. But if it's too much, even though I like you and your muses and want to write, I'm gonna mute your tag. I'd much rather someone repeatedly be like "I'll be on twitter if you care" or whatever passive-aggressive thing, than have a bunch of posts on my roleplay account that are nothing. Let me ignore it if I want to.

I've complained to the point of adding it to my rules, but I hate mains. And I honestly more and more feel like I'm making the right call in that it's very mean and you shouldn't do it. I understand feeling more drawn to some muns/muses than others, but when a mun is repeatedly answering someone's stuff immediately when you've been waiting for a reply for a month. Yeah, it's a little dog shit. There needs to be an effort to balance it out between partners.

A COUPLE ACTUAL PETTY PET PEEVES. That like, I've rewritten this a bunch of times cause I don't want to be dumb and rude even though it makes me want to be very that. I hate when muns make their muses short and are just weird about it. Like, it's obviously written from the perspective of a person that is average height, who sometimes feels short, so assumes someone shorter than them always feels short. And it's like no one thinks about their height that much, stop it. But this is absolutely me, a person who is the height of all those short muses, being like bruh stop being weird. I also hate when there is an unrealistic weight put to muses. Because it's something most people ignore, so just skip it if you're gonna be dumb about it. If you feel the need to be like, my 5'6" muse 90 pounds, think about how dysfunctional that makes a person. It's beyond the realm of "my muse is skinny." But!! Again! I know this is just me being like "your fictional character is unrealistic." People like to make their muses taller than Shaq and as buff of as wrestler, but also be like "it's natural, they would never track their calories/protein intake."

Muse preference ( fluff, angst, smut ): Of course it depends. Hibiya is fun because he's awful at being fluffy, so it's great putting him in those positions where I am also so horribly uncomfortable for him. He's always angsty. It gets a little tiring. Smut is all me though, I just get lost in thinking of the details and then I forget to write any of it and it takes forever. Practice though and I know it'll be more fun. There are at least muses now that Hibi wants to be gross with finally.

Hibiko however, is like, always bordering on fluffy, to the point that she really fights angst. Which in itself is fun because that's where most of her development comes from. Surprisingly, smut will be/is really fun for Hibiko because her walls are down, which isn't the case any other time. She also doesn't have as many preconceptions as Hibiya when it comes to sex, so it's more freeing and open for me to write.

Plot or memes: Memes are more freeing. They can be long winded ideas or just a paragraph, so that's fun. But when it comes to the long run, I need to talk about plots to some extent so we're not running aimlessly.

Long or short replies: Long. Mid, really, but I'd rather it be longer than shorter. I've learned I have a hard time tapping into what my muse is going through if I'm not seeing that in return. But short ones are a very welcomed break when they come along. It's nice to easily poop out a reply without being like oh fuck okay what happens first.

Best time to write: When I'm alone in the morning before anyone wakes up (which isn't the morning but pretend it is). I like sitting in silence and enjoying the nothing going on so I can focus. I like to watch movies by myself, and it'll take twice as long because I'll pause it to write while inspired, and watch another five minutes before pausing to write again. The way god intended, really.

Are you like your muse(s): Kinda. I relate to Hibiya more. I'm more aloof than I think I am and can be a little insensitive towards other people's feelings and my words. Emotions are not my strong suit lmao.
