Kali: Call of Darkness: 9/10; love the MC, the characters, the story progression, the Dozen lore, replayability, etc. but gets a point off for its problematic depiction of Indian culture and Hinduism) tbh it deserves an extra point or two off because I despise the way Remy clearly wrote from a Eurocentric perspective, but this is also the first RC book I read after the slew of mid Choices books so I got attached unfortunately

Theodora: 9.6/10; I got the ending where I was only able to save my soul and it made me sad 😭 the story was well written but there were parts where I was just a lil bored. At least, that’s how I felt initially before I became obsessed with the book. It's objectively amazing etc. but I feel kinda robbed from screentime with the OG characters if that makes sense? Either way the writer did a great job writing them into the plot in later seasons and the MC is so amazing I love her <3 it’s not easy to write the progression of multiple relationships already but to have a different set of likable LIs every season is incredible!

Arcanum: 9.8/10; THIS BOOK WAS SO GOOD omg I love how the plot came full circle and the MC was interesting and well-written (her character design was also top tier). It's such a unique concept for a book I love it. I feel like S3 could have gone by a lil quicker (along with a couple of other nitpicky things) but that could just be because S2 was so full of action

Heaven's Secret: 9.9/10; I just started its sequel, but I was pleasantly surprised at how engaging this book was! I like the gradual progression from being a new student to slowly learning the truth behind your death and about the academy. The final battle scene was super cool, and I feel like everything had a logical explanation (ex. Shepha only having power over light). I also like the different pathways of being an Angel, Demon, or Harmony Bearer (which I was!) it was really fun and seems like a replayable book <3

TBB S3 E11 Reaction

I’ve watched this episode multiple times already but honestly it doesn’t get any easier. Here we go I guess 😩

- This droid guy looks like the one from episode 4. They’re kinda cute

- The return of Mel! (And Phee 😁)

- Both of them are in a mood 😆. What trip did they just get back from to make them so cranky? Love the throwback to Skara Nall too.

- Noooo not CX-2 😭

- He’s a sneaky boi

- I knew that Phee would inadvertently be how the coordinates to Pabu would be found 🥺🥺

- I’m just now noticing that the back office is playing music and that’s probably why Phee can’t hear the alarm go off. That is hilarious and also very frustrating 😅

- Of course the droid thinks it caused the alarm somehow

- There’s no way downloading someone’s flight log goes that quickly but okay

- Ooooh my girl knows something is up! Her spidey pirate senses are going off. Aghhhh if only she had been a second sooner!!

- If CX-2 ISN’T Tech there is zero reason why he would have stayed behind to watch Phee leave before he snuck off. Also how is he so incredible at hacking into and decoding things 👀

- Ugh I just want a show of Phee and Mel adventures around the galaxy!

- Why is his ship so freaking cool. These maps are incredible.

- Reallyyyy wanna get CX-2’s helmet off 😭

- Aw Pabu is so beautiful in the sunset

- Ha! I knew the boys would try to leave after Ventress warned them it was too dangerous to stay on Pabu. Hunter might be slow sometimes but he’s not completely stupid guys

- Aw poor Wrecker just wants an ice cream

- Crosshair shakes his head at him 🤣

- The little clone cadets outfits are so cool!!!

- Not going to lie, the first time I watched this was the closest I had cried all season. Tech’s goggles and Lula being placed in the Archium is so heartbreakingly fitting 💔

- Wrecker and Gonky banter 🤩🤩🤩 Gonk is such a part of the family I love it soooo much

- Okay seriously how is CX-2 able to both know he’s tripped a proximity sensor AND turn it off?? Come on

- I just realized how he knows where the cave is too. If he tracked Phee’s flight log it must have shown exactly where she normally landed

- Ugh that gold and purple is just too beautiful. Can Pabu be a real place that I can go to?

- Hunter’s spidey senses are also on alert. And I love how close he and Crosshair are again, their pre-Order 66 bond has been restored and is even deeper. Crosshair is attuned to when Hunter’s senses go off. And their helmets sitting together on the cart is so cute 🥹

- No NO no NOOO Nooooo. This moment was ruined by the Star Wars marketing team so it honestly didn’t hit as hard as it would have otherwise, but 😭😭😭. RIP Marauder. You will live on in our imagination

- I still can’t believe that they somehow heard our outcry about what would happen to Gonky, Lula, and Tech’s goggles if they blew up the Marauder, and decided to save EXACTLY those three things 🤣 (and Wrecker. So glad Wrecker is “relatively” okay, poor boy)

- Hunter’s slooow helmet turn until we see the starship above the island. Phew. And the Imperial March coming in.

- Omega comforting Batcher 😭😭😭

- Having LAATs swoop down into a town like that would be terrifying

- Man, where’s Maarva when you need her. Fuck the Empire

- “Search every domicile until you find her” is going to go down in Star Wars quote history

- I was genuinely afraid they were going to burn the whole island

- I’m sorry but I just can’t take the backpack clips on CX-2 seriously

- Batcher baby no! (Also genuinely thought we were going to lose her for a second)

- Damn Hunter. Nothing makes him shine like hand to hand combat and other things 🥵

- He’s never been hotter honestly

- Alright how in the world is CX-2 so good at *everything*. I’m honestly getting a little annoyed at it.

- Crosshair’s face 😭💔😭 he’s never looked more scared and pleading than when he says his baby sister’s name

- I’m kind of surprised that they didn’t just burn down the town anyway. Either CX-2 is just trying to be super efficient/he doesn’t care past accomplishing his mission, or the Empire gets much more petty and cruel by Kenobi and Rebels

- It’s so interesting to me how touchy CX-2 is with Omega. Why all the shoulder pushes? Shoulder touches are very much a form of affection and communication among clones. Has that impulse in him just been turned to violence?

- Sooo…we basically will never get wet hair Hunter 🤣🤣🤣 I’ll take this much dripping and cute Batcher scratches compensation though

- Okay. I’m just going to say it. The way they chose to have Crosshair miss the tracking device was so disappointing to me. Not the fact that he missed, but how he missed. Having him be distracted and fend for his life and be late for the shot was great. But I wish they had brought his hand tremble into play here as the main mechanism behind why he missed. They’ve been building that up all season and it would have made perfect sense. Instead he rushes and like trips and just shoots too early? So out of character. I didn’t like it and still don’t :(

- Welp, Omega seems to be less worried than we are. We’re in the end game now folks 😳 this music is awesome too

Okay, I have some thoughts.

If you enjoyed Season 7, that's cool, I'm happy for you. If you intend to play Season 8, that's cool, I hope you find some enjoyment from it.

But holy hell, Fusebox. Maybe S8 will be good - people keep saying it's all the even seasons that are better (although I still maintain S1 is one of the best as far as the writing, though it does lack in other ways - but first try gets a pass), at least as far as enjoyment and good characters.

But here's the thing. Season 6 had its issues for sure, and we loved to complain about certain aspects of it, but the characters were generally great and a lot of us enjoyed it for that.

But no sooner was it over than S7 was announced. We didn't have time to soak in what S6 was, to let the characters live in our heads rent free, to start missing the game and thinking about what we wanted from the next season. I remember between S2 and S3 there was so much hype because people couldn't wait for more content, every day there were memes on the Fusebox sub from people dying for information. Releasing S7 so quickly on the heels of S6 made it less exciting because people didn't have a chance to yearn for it.

And now they're doing the same thing with S8, because with AI they can just pump out content. We all know it's to get as much money as possible (whether from the few suckers paying for gems or from ad revenue), but it's a great way to actually kill people's interest in the game. Hardly anyone talked about S7 after awhile, partly because the season was boring, but partly because of oversaturation of content. Sometimes you can have too much.

It's just like the show. When it's once a year, everyone gets excited for it. The winter seasons? Meh. So then the ratings for the winter season were low, and then the people who watched the winter season were burnt out and didn't watch the summer season. They're diluting their fanbase and killing their own ratings by making too much content while also not finding ways to make it fresh and exciting (being a CA girl was an attempt, but it ultimately fell flat).

Do yourselves a favour and stop rushing to put out new content every few months that's AI-generated, and take your time to create something good written by actual humans. Please.

Personally, I deleted the app the moment I'd finished today's episodes. Unless something at Fusebox changes, I have no intention of downloading it again.

Note

I know this is a random question, but what is your take on the Demon king, aka Diavolo’s dad? We don’t have much to go on him in the game. Luke appears to remember him during S1 during the retreat, and that he was the one who gave the brothers their new names, I think. The other thing we get is that Diavolo says his dad was rather strict too. I just wanted to see if you can add more to this?

Is the demon king the one who gave them their names? Because according to S3 canon the brothers have never met the demon king and have always had aspects of their sins that they repressed due to the rules of the Celestial Realm. Even one of the earliest canon main storyline devilgrams (that were present in nightmare when you downloaded the game) confirms that for as long as the brothers have known him (which was from their days as angels) it's always being Diavolo in charge and the only reason Diavolo is in charge is because his father went to sleep

Luke (again according to S3 canon) wouldn't have been alive during this time, the same way he wasn't alive when the brothers were still angels. But then, given that he was told a lot of stories about what things were like before The Fall, it makes sense that he would know things about the demon king

If S1 canon did explicitly state that The Demon King named the brothers then that could be something minor that was retconned at we got deeper into the lore/backstory, like Lucifer & Michael being changed from archangels (s1/early devilgrams) to Seraphim (S3)

S3 also said that he was an absent father who didn't pay much attention to Diavolo, I think?

Overall:

S3 basically retconned the part of the demon king being awake, when they dived deeper into the celestial realm lore, the same way it retconned Michael & Lucifer's angel ranks. S1 itself also contradicts the angel name thing because simeon who's meeting them for the first time as angels uses "Lucy" as an old Celestial Realm nickname for "Lucifer"

With Nightbringer diving even deeper into celestial realm and possibly early devildom lore it's possible even more things are gonna be retconned

As You can see in the first picture above, no more problem with the alpha of the trees in the distant terrain \o/

We used a small override file : Smaller Eiffel Tower by Qahne @ MTS which creates 2 advantages, a smaller Eiffel Tower and the fix for the broken alpha settings of trees in distant terrain.

We discovered too on a NRAAS thread another cool modding file : ScooterOverride by Consort which brings teens to drive only scooters ... I mean the mythic Kenspa !

When a vacation world such as Champs les Sims becomes a fully suburbia world, it loses the Kenspa as main vehicle of the town. So we tried to minimize as much as possible this side effect and we added different Kenspa in our files. Of course, you may keep or not this choice ;) Up to you !

Now, there are other essential files we used ... such as : the Romanesque Connecting Column Arches Set by TheJim07 @ MTS we used in different locations of Champignac and bring A LOT to get really cool ambiant places.

Related to the Store stuff, we do not use much and anyway, you don't have to worry about, we'll provide a folder with the necessary files. Clean and updated. Except for the Al Fresco Market.

By the way, we'll update very soon every CC folder we provide on our website for each of our S3 Worlds : all cleaned and updated too.

To finish with this post, let us show you one of the biggest community lot of Champignac : Le Monastère which is too the Winery of the town ( of course there is a Winery ) ;)

This is a Sims Republic 2015 creation we modified a bit inside to suit Champignac ...

That's all folks ... for the moment. We are aware this kind of post is not as popular as the ones with a download link ... But that's wrong. Creating a world with a unique ambiance is only possible because of all these creations and creators. Maybe as Sims 3 players you already knows this stuff and so, not so interested to see it, again ... but wait and see, we tried very much to organize all those files with love and harmony ...

hello Internet I turn to you in my desperation

does anyone have a download of (or know what happened to) the Avatar: The Last Airbender fic “Book 3: Fire”? I can’t remember the author, but I know for a fact I had it in my favorites on FFN; I don’t think it was ever on ao3 but I could be mistaken. Anyway it has since disappeared, hence this search

Plot description below the cut; it’s been a couple years since I read it last so it might be shaky in parts lol

It was an imagining of how s3 of avatar would go before the actual season 3 came out, so it would’ve been published some time between Dec 2006 and Sep 2007, and I remember author’s notes indicating that there was very quick turnaround on the chapters; I believe the fic was not finished before the show started airing though

The main pairings were Zutara, Taang, and Sukka; I distinctly remember Jin/Jet as part of a Ba Sing Se subplot as well

Iroh and Zuko join the Gaang almost immediately after the fall of Ba Sing Se when Azula turns on Iroh and tries to have Zuko execute him; Zuko refuses and he and Iroh catch up with the gaang, who are escaping Ba Sing Se through underground tunnels with Toph’s help

Iroh initially starts teaching Aang firebending, but is setting up Zuko for the role due to the fact that he knows he’ll have to leave to do White Lotus Things

They realize the surprise portion of the eclipse attack is ruined, but it’s still their best shot so in the meantime they’re going to drum up support in the Earth Kingdom, etc and also foment rebellion in the Fire Nation, setting up Zuko as a challenger for the throne

(Now we get to the vague-memories-and-disjointed-scenes portion of the description lol)

There was a very strong Spirit World subplot with Roku and Kyoshi; the eventual reveal was that Sozin had made a deal with a Spirit of War (definitely had a more “demonic” angle) and his descendants had continued that deal, which was finally coming due after 100 years.

There was also an episode wherein Zuko and Katara were captured by an insane FN governor and had to gladiator-fight a dragon; they ended up freeing it and it killed the governor. That confrontation with the dragon also started positive rumors about Zuko and helped him gain the FN’s respect as their returning prince

The whole fic was a bit darker than the actual show; I remember Azula actually died (still in a fight with Katara), and I believe it was stated that Ozai just straight-up murdered Ursa and lied about her “banishment”

There’s a lot more to it (I’m pretty sure it was at least 20+ chapters and definitely over 100k words) but that’s all I can restate coherently lol

Sunshine Blues Supernatural Defaults

Finally, the first batch of supernatural defaults since I'm still not 100% satisfied with the plantsim default and haven't even touched the werewolf default. Anyway. These are based off my Sunshine Blues skin, with two alien colors (a Maxis-match minty green and another green), a zombie default (NOT overlay, sorry), and a vampire overlay. The aliens are just basic recolors, the zombie one is heavily based off of @pyxiidis' zombie PSDs with a parts of @furbyq's Rainbow Stitch, @withlovefromsimtown's zombie overlay, and a dash of frankscrank's Stitched skin. Basically, I took every gory detail I could find and put it on this skin. And finally, the Vampire skin is... Trapping's Living Dead(?) run over one of the lighter tones to give a grayish overlay, combined with Skell's red eye overlay and some eyebags and black nails. The preview shows a sim with my Medium/S3 skin default (and should be a recognizable premade).

These come in separate package downloads so you can mix and match, especially with the alien skins because you can only have one.

Hey all, especially to those who left comments on my long post that I hope is the last of that kind...I appreciate everything you've said, and I was proved wrong when I thought I felt invisible during those times. So thank you for that! I'll never leave them unresponded though, but work went a little busier lately and now's the only time to reply to them all..

About the photo: I also got a new kitty! (the orange one) So I made him in TS3 too. Name's Ponkan by the way, and he's very sweet and chatty, always makes me feel better whenever I feel sad or stressed. He and Cloud are getting along in the game but not in real life though lol.

I’m going to do a full rewatch of Star Trek Discovery until the premiere of its final season on April.

I downloaded the whole series and I just checked the first few minutes of Discovery and was hit with a wave of nostalgia and what could have been.

The rich colors, the contrast of blacks, with no blue filter marring it that unfortunately began to pervade Discovery when it moved its filming to mostly the AR wall*. Captain Philippa Georgiu and a great sense of character from the first few minutes— which I assume is a Bryan Fuller special.

(*Speaking of the AR Wall why is a green screen CG landscape better produced and realized than the AR Wall? What is with the blue filters on Disco s3 and s4? Even on Strange New Worlds, the landscapes looked weird.)

However, I am still not a fan of the Discovery!Klingon look. Why is their skin so moist???

Also, I am still not a fan of purely Klingon dialogues. Great that there’s subtitles but augh. I am not one of those fans who want to learn to speak Klingon.

Pushing for a huge change in Klingons with terrible prosthetics was also off-putting.

Ending on a good note before things go to hell— I just really love Captain Georgiu from second 1. She’s the epitome of Starfleet and I wish we could have several more episodes with her and this crew.

I also get why there were some tensions with Fuller because they were just going to use the Shenzhou’s bridge only once and creating a bridge is costly.

The show/s were eventually able to amortize the bones/structure of the Shenzhou turning it into different settings. But I imagine the ballooning costs didn’t help Fuller’s cause, especially when it didn’t make the publicized premiere date.

We don’t really know what his full vision for the show is because he left season 1 before it was completed. And until, I think late into season 3, Discovery has had a troubled behind the scenes production with the writers and showrunners.
