Ranting to myself about overblot!kalim

I feel like an outlier in the fandom for believing this will happen in Episode 4. xD Like a really really really bad outlier... don’t mind me just let me rannnnt it’s 5 in the morning and I know I’ll forget all of this later xD

I mentioned this at least three times by now but Papa Crowley and his foreshadowing has never steered us wrong (plotwise, not so much trustworthy-wise). The emotions he listed that can cause a person to go into overblot (and he was just naming a few) were anger (Riddle), sorrow (Leona), fear (Azul) and confusion. I’m not too sure how an overblot!Jamil will fit into confusion, but an overblot!kalim to me does. I think I explained it a bit better in this reblog... mainly because I wasn’t typing that one out at 5 in the morning. :p Like,, who wouldn’t be drowning in confusion and despair after knowing that your best friend—someone you consider as family—really did use his hypnosis abilities on you? When you trusted him not to, as you knew he had these abilities in the first place?

Except I’m gonna cut Jamil some slack here and say that he didn’t do it because he was power hungry? Because come on that’s a waste of a character development arc right there. Best bet is that he just seems suspicious and like he hypnotized Kalim for a bad thing, but in reality he only did it after that massive fail of whatever was the final exams. Usually, Scarabia and Octavinelle would be like,, neck in neck in final exams. I just see Jamil as someone who really truly honours tradition/reputation and would rather not have it tarnished. (Like how he reprimands Leona on his sitting position even though he’s a prince, or like how much he truly cares about Kalim enough to prepare his ceremony clothes and literally everything else in his life. Like,, in his ceremony clothes story he was so anxious about Kalim? And you can’t even say that was for show because there was. No one. There. Like come on he thought he was hallucinating Kalim until he realized oops. It’s Kalim. Trust me, if you have a poker face there are only two ways to break it. One; if you’re alone, and Two; if you’re with someone you really trust and love [for me, that’s my cat. Shh.])

Also, in all honesty... with him and his logic, it’s kind of rational to not betray Kalim for something on selfishly personal demands. Like,, for upholding the Viper family values. That had really really long roots and I really really doubt that whatever Jamil hypnotized Kalim for was for something wrong, or else Jamil is going to have a lot of explaining to do as to why the Viper Family was fired from their traditional workplace.

I literally rewatched Aladdin for this, but Jafar mainly had two character development series of sequences. One of them was the revelation that he does not like to be second to anyone, and this was the last one revealed. But his character plot line developed into that point because he didn’t want to be replaced as a suitor to Jasmine to become sultan. This is the really icky part everyone wants to forget because... come on, no 16 year old is gonna marry to that. Anywho, he didn’t want to be replaced by Aladdin as the next viable suitor for Jasmine. To me, at least, this lines up with what I believe is Kalim’s character development. Many people have wanted to have him replaced as the next heir to the multi-millionaire bout of wealth; he was poisoned multiple times and kidnapped (which I think was for ransom? Leaving that out there tho). If whatever Jamil is doing to him manages to come within his circle of knowledge, he ah... might feel like Jamil wants to replace him. Either physically or through personality. Chances are, much like Jafar, he won’t be taking that idea lightly. Like,, at all.

I’ll edit this with more later because right now I want to keep staring at the Naga Sultan/King Cobra SSRs. Please let them be happy Yana ;-;

EDIT: I had a mini discussion with myself earlier and it was fun. And a bit boring. But I kind of want to talk a bit about what I think is Kalim’s backstory here too? A lot of things striked as red flags for me. Like,, a ton.

First off, I don’t personally think he has a great relationship with the older bunch of his younger siblings. If he did... well, who would want to off a brother that always plays with them? He mentions in his PE clothes story that he plays a lot with his siblings. I think he plays a lot with his younger ones to be honest. And this goes along with the fact that in one of his main story chats, although I have to find it, he says something along the lines of “something cute when something younger”. (I don’t know if he was referring to MC or his siblings...) This could literally mean anything because ah you can’t exactly refute that, babies are ducking cute, but um.

Back on track, I really have the feeling little babey cinnamon roll just wants some trustworthy friends. Like,, he’ll literally talk to anyone, and I have half a clue that that’s why he likes to party (to get along and build up relationships with others). He mentions his relationship with others a lot in passing, but it’s kind of obvious making relationships and emotional connections are important to him. If you make a good relationship/friendship with someone that’s mutual, where’s the danger of being poisoned because of them? And this is why Jamil thinks Kalim is being too trusting, because it’s very easy that someone is just staying on Kalim’s good side for the possible wealth/chance to take that wealth.

It was mentioned and speculated a lot that the Great Seven were a reference to the Seven Deadly Sins. (Remind me if I miss any posts, but there’s this post by @scaip). If this were to be the case, Kalim representing Lust makes a lot more sense... (please lemme explain xD) Jafar wanted the hand of Jasmine in what was a disgusting marriage built upon deceit and no trust or love, but like... he was one of those Disney villains that lusted for another Disney character. Lust usually just means sexual love, but Disney will definitely weather this symbolism down to just love, trust, and relationships in general. Kalim doesn’t lust for any specific person, nor do I believe he desires for any specified romantic relationship (he already has Jamil :p), but what he’s after is what a lot of people are after when it comes to a romantic relationship—trust and an emotional connection.

Are there manga/anime you didn't expect you like it, but you did?

Hello! Haha, omg, actually I hardly ever start a series if something in the summary or the art style doesn’t intrigue me, so I always go in because I’m interested in a thing I read or saw about it.

However, there are definitely series I didn’t expect to like as much as I first thought I would. The series I blog about the most (be it manga, animes or games) are generally such cases of “wow I didn’t expect to like it so much and now I’m doomed forever”. xD

I’m supposing you are looking for some examples, so here we go for the ones I remember the most vividly:

Ace Attorney

I received the first game as an unexpected gift when I was a teen, even though I knew nothing of the story or its characters.

Played the first case, was like ‘uh ok it’s nice and funny’ then things start to kick in in case 2 (’spirit mediums????’) and until the end of the game, which had me yelling everywhere in excitement considering how good cases 4 and 5 were. Then I played JFA, loved it obviously and T&T was not yet out in English by then.

That being said, it only took the first game to dive pretty far into the well crafted world that is Ace Attorney, but I always enjoyed how the universe expands with each game.

And today, aside from the DGS prequel games which I haven’t played, I know the series by heart! It’s my first Internet fandom and still a favorite: I love how the games evolved (even if the first trilogy remains my fave), I love how good the character developments in these games are, I love the plot twists, the slight supernatural powers, etc.

Still a fave to this day and probably 5ever! Also these games are the reason why & how I became fluent in English and, just for that, they changed my life quite permanently, haha. xD

The Suzumiya Haruhi series

My first anime!

Kinda related to Ace Attorney actually because, at some point in the Suzumiya Haruhi anime they make a parody of AA as they’re solving a “murder case”, and that’s how I discovered the series (as I was browsing about AA on youtube).

So I started watching it with no real idea in mind, but as it turned out, I loved how awkward it is, haha! The movie (an adaptation of the fourth light novel) is also my absolute favorite as far as animated works go.

UDDUP

My first manga! And quite a great one at that! I remember finding the first volumes in a bookstore, thinking “wow the covers are so pretty?”, which is why I started reading it, haha.

Thanks to it I came to discover manga, so I’ll always love it a lot, just for that.

What I enjoyed the most though is how realistic and well-built the universe is. The cast of characters is also quite diversified, which is not something you find often and a very enjoyable fact. You can read more about it here and here.

Blade of the Immortal

Ah, my latest favorite discovery! I had seen panels and screenshots of it passing by on my dash for years, but the summary had never struck me as that interesting. How wrong I was, haha.

Then someone I follow was asked about it and answered something about how “it was too violent” for them despite how enjoyable the story was. So I thought “hey maybe I should check this out”, which I did.

I only have one advice: go read it!! It’s truly a masterpiece on the level of Berserk or Urasawa Naoki’s Monster!

Pierre Bottero’s Multiverse

He is a French author, so I doubt you’ve heard of him. He used to be quite famous in France in the fantastic/fantasy realm of fiction writers.

His multiverse is made of 4 different trilogies and a stand alone book, which was supposed to be an introduction to a final trilogy tying everything together, but then he died in a car accident.

These books are probably my favorite book series ever. I read the first one thinking “okay it’s good but” and then I went to read the rest of the first trilogy and I absolutely loved it.

I didn’t know back then that he intended on developing his ideas into multiple books, so I ended up following his book releases for years quite faithfully, until his death actually. May he rest in peace. <3

Katekyo Hitman Reborn

One of these series I started because I was bored & everyone was yelling that it was super good.

I checked the anime for a few episodes, ended up bored out of my mind and dropping it for a few months. Then I came across some characters’ design (the Varia’s to be precise) and I was here like ‘??? where are these characters in the anime?’ so I went back to see more of the anime from where I had stopped.

As it turns out, the episode I had stopped on was quite good and I ended up watching it for all the laughs that it caused me, until the actual plot kicked in after 20 episodes or so. xD

Anyway, there was a reason everyone was yelling it was super good despite how peculiar it is at times, haha, and I ended up being no exception and drawn to its charms. x)

Avatar: the last Airbender

Ahhh, well, this is one series I discovered rather late! I was away on vacation with some friends and we were discussing stuff from our childhood that we still liked today, when this one friend started to mention ATLA.

And the thing is, I remembered watching some TV episodes but I couldn’t envision that this was a series with a particular or well-defined plot, because it left me no impression at all as a kid.

But my friend was quite eager about how good it was and our other friend was watching LOK at the time (without knowing about ATLA) so they both made me want to check what ATLA truly was like.

I ended up watching the whole thing a few weeks after in, like, two or three days, without being able to stop screaming about it, haha. :))

There you go Anon. :) I actually have many more examples, because I hardly ever know what to truly expect whenever I start a series. The MO is: the more it surprises me, the more I tend to love it!

Okay, I'll write down all this, even though I know no one will ever read it. But, like damn I need to get it out, it has been rumbling in my mind for days.

So, it all starts with Chuck.

We've been said that he wrote and choose everything that happened in the Winchester's life. He wrote his plot and made everything happen according his plan. The boys still have free will, I do believe so, but he placed everything so they were forced to do what he wanted without them noticing.

So, since Season 14 finale, I got a lot of questions about what was the boys choice (real choice) and what was Chuck's plot.

What was actually real? Was everything a lie?

And I kept wondering. And I remember reading a comment on YouTube of someone saying that maybe even Amara wasn't real (I mean, all we got about her on s14 finale was Chuck saying she was in Reno, and that was all). Maybe it was a huge plot of an almost invincible being, and maybe she was just another creation. Maybe she wasn't his real sister. And I kept wondering, and wondering.

And then season 15 started, and episode 3 aired.

And oh my fucking Lord. Amara was totally real, she was still a badass and I learned a whole bunch of new things.

So, according with Sam's visions (Wich turned out to be Chuck's memories from different realities), Chuck loves those tragic endings. With a brother turning evil and killing the brother who's trying to save him. That's his favorite, I don't know, genre? He loves tragedies, and certainly he don't likes happy endings. So, I started asking myself... Amara is really his sister, so he truly sealed her away.

He's such a narcissistic God, that he throws a tantrum and hates everything and everyone that surpasses him (just like he did with ancient Gods, as we learned about in episode 11 The gamblers).

In season 11, when we meet Amara, and we learn about her and Chuck's story, is the first time we see that stupid assbutt actually accept that he's god, all this to Metatron (who actually tried to surpass him as god, and if you remember Chuck was truly mean with him. At that moment I just thought that maybe he was mean, even though it felt uncomfortable, because Metatron had caused so much trouble; but now I do know that he was being like that because his petulant and narcissistic side felt hurt). Now, that time he was hiding from Amara (cause she's damn stronger than him), so she wouldn't kill him, or take any kind of revenge. The point is, he was hiding and he was angry at the boys, and he refused when Metatron asked him to help them stop her. And they talked and said all that stuff about humanity and about how we deserved to be saved, and he acted like he cared about us but you know what? He didn't choose to help the guys because he wanted to save us. Ha! Come on, he has multiple realitys, different versions of us, and he never gave a shit about them. He let them destroy each other, and have terrible fates.

He choose to help the boys because he knew that Amara would hunt down and destroy each wold, each reality, till find him. She would never give up. And honestly, the Winchesters were his only hope to survive (he knew they were the only ones who would fight till the world ended, all to stop her).

He helped them so he could survive. So, it makes me think: I don't think he ever wanted them to release her, she's an unstoppable force of the nature, and he couldn't controle her. Not now, not ever. She's way stronger, and he knew that (even though he want to believe he's the main singer, the protagonist of the story), so I do believe he would never risk that much. Not even for such a magnificent plot twist, what leads me to believe that Amara being released was a consequence of the brother's free will. So, if it was a free will, what was actually Chuck's choice of story?

The season before we met Amara (and the free will choice that caused everything) was season 10, and you know what? Season 10 finale had MoC Dean supposedly killing Sam, who was trying to save him.

I do believe Chuck wanted them to have this ending. It fits perfectly with his idea of a perfect ending... Yet they choose, again, family over the world. I don't know, maybe he thought Dean, our righteous man, who had everything to choose kill Sam [Charlie's death, The Styne's slaughter, that hunter's death (I don't remember his name, sorry), him almost killing Cas, him having to kill Cain and the sudden realization of his destiny, and well the urge to stop Sammy from releasing the darkness and stop another apocalypse] would really choose that. Even though he had experienced a lot o changes, there was still goodness (or at least some sense of responsibility over the world) in him. And even though Death couldn't take the mark away, he could give him some kind of solution to his problem. It was, somehow, the best option. The best choice. The most logical answer, and yet they choose family.

HOW IT FEELS STUPID ASSBUTT? They won't only choose family when you want them to, but always.

Of course, once he got the Amara problem solved, he kept playing with their lives, that's what he does. And now, they had the drama boost of a dead-now-alive mother, and a bad seed child.

However, that son of a bitch can totally go to hell. I can't believe I used to love him. I wanted to believe there was some kind o redemption for him (even though he killed Jack), but then he vanished Becca's family, brought Lilith back to life, and kept trying to plot with my boys life. He fucking tortured Sam and Eileen. There's no redemption for him, only torture and pain (okay, maybe I lost it right there xD).

However, that's it. Sorry for the rambling, and the bad english, I just needed to get it out.

ST: TNG S5 Watchthrough Episodes 2-5

Darmok: AKA, The Arena 2.0. Albeit the only similarity is that the captain and an alien get transported onto a barren planet with the Enterprise struggling to save him. While Kirk and the Gorn got forced by a God entity to fight, Picard and the other being, Dathon, look like they’re going to… but in actuality, they have a much more diplomatic interaction. There’s also a unique issue: the language barrier. The Tamarians essentially speak in metaphors that no one can understand, which with Picard missing… well it’s causing issues for The Enterprise who are about ready to go into battle. If we're gonna repeat episode ideas, I think that this is a good way to do it. Use a similar set-up, but do something different. In this case, Picard makes an effort to figure the Tamarian language out, at least enough to allow some form of communication. Like when Picard talks to Dathon after he’s been injured to learn more about him? That was a nice scene. Showing one trying to understand the other despite the obvious communication issues, and it is this effort and understanding that ultimately allows Picard to save the day before bloodshed can occur between the two sides. It was hard to keep up with at points because I could not at all understand what The Tamarians were saying and I’m far too slow to pick it up like Picard did. There’s a small, petty part of me bummed about having no people in cheap lizard costumes, but it was still a good episode. Certainly a much calmer one than Redemption which offers a nice cool-down from the premiere. It’s not as exciting as The Arena, but still a nice change of pace… but seriously, bring back the Gorn one day ST, and you better use the cheap costumes if you do! 3.5/5.

Ensign Ro: Alright, I’ve heard some about this one and I know that The Bajorans are gonna be a bigger deal in DS9. So Ensign Ro has been assigned to the Enterprise… but no one’s really happy about it as she had both been court-martialed and only recently released from prison. But they need her as the Bajorans are rebelling against The Cardassian Empire, yep those guys from The Wounded are back again. The treaty allows the Federation o act on behalf of the Bajorans, but that does nothing to ease the tensions between Ro and the Enterprise staff. So… one, Riker is an asshole in this episode. I mean making Ro take off her earring due to Starfleet uniform code… despite Worf being able to wear his sash (IDK the official name of it) that is clearly signifying his Klingon heritage and Troi having three regular outfits that she switches between, none of which are the standard uniform. Is it a seniority thing? Yeah IDK what that scene was about except as a tension builder, but way to be a hypocritical asshole Riker. But to be fair, Ro isn’t exactly the nicest person either. She’s very cynical, anti-social, aloof, and brutally honest, a huge contrast to the usually hopeful, optimistic cast. But as the episode goes on and when Guinan starts talking to her, it becomes clear why she is the way that she is. We learn about the horrors that the Bajorans have endured due to the Cardassians, Ro being used by an asshole admiral to give weapons to terrorists, and how it all caused Ro to feel ashamed of her own heritage and her struggle to settle it even after realizing that she shouldn’t feel that way. Needless to say, Ro has some pretty good reasons to be as she is, and she ultimately was trying to help her people and broke the admiral's orders when she found out that things weren’t on the level. Ro’s a really interesting character and I’m glad that Picard came around to her and allowed her to stay on the Enterprise, even allowing her to wear her Bajoran earring again. Hopefully, everyone else comes around as well. But yeah,t his was good! A good female character, the introduction of the conflict between the Bajorans and Cardassians, and an overall good plot. Again, I hate how much of an ass Riker and some of the others were to Ro with none of them ever asking her side of how she got court-martialed, but still, it was good~! 4/5.

Silicon Avatar: You all remember The Crystalline Entity? The one from Datalore? The being that killed a whole bunch of people because of Lore and would have killed everyone on the Enterprise had Lore not been beamed into space? Yep, they never actually defeated the thing so… it’s back. After it ravages a colony (thankfully all but two citizens survive), the Enterprise calls in Dr. Marr, who has studied the Entity, to help… but she has her own personal intentions for studying it. She is mean to Data, but it’s less because he’s an android and more because of his connection to Lore though she does loosen up fairly quickly. This is very much a revenge tale. Marr lost her son to the Crystalline Entity, and she has been trying to find him. way to kill it once and for all. We’ve seen this kind of story before, but hey that doesn’t mean it can’t be good, and bringing the Crystalline Entity isn’t a bad idea either. The sadness of Marr is done we'll and when Data read back a journal entry of her son’s in his voice... God that was just sad. Then... let’s talk about the moral debate. Marr wants to kill the Entity due to the devastation it keeps causing and to avenge her son… but Picard wants to try and communicate with it. Now I do understand what they’re trying to do and to an extent, I agree with it. The Entity may very well just be some kind of mindless animal just doing what it has to do to survive. Or it may indeed have its own thoughts and consciousness. Maybe it doens’t even realize the horrors it causes or the difference between right and wrong. If they could communicate, maybe they could understand it more and find a way to resolve the matter and stop the devastation peacefully. I certainly see what Picard is getting at… it’s just that along with no one considering that plan back in Datalore, the Entity IS still causing countless deaths and if Picard is wrong, they may very well die. But Marr takes matters into her hands, thus meaning that we’ll never know and that may be the true tragedy of the episode. Was Marr right to do what she did? It’s certainly hard to blame her, but she also cost what could have been valuable progress and knowledge. Either way, she was a heartbroken mother who wanted to avenge her son, and it only lead to a sad life that her son would have never wanted her to have. She accomplished her goal… but what now? The moral debate could have been handled better, but still a fine episode. 3/5.

Disaster: They were on-point with that title, though ‘Utter Insanity’ would have also been acceptable. So let’s just run down the list. The Enterprise has a power failure and it results in multiple insane scenarios. Picard is both injured and stuck with children on the Turbolift, Worf is stuck in Ten-Forward with a pregnant Keiko giivng birth, Crusher and Goerdi are stuck in cargo, Riker and Data try to get to Engineeirng, an Troi is stuck in Command as the only senior officer still alive on the Bridge. Yeah, it’s a wild episode. I really like the idea though. It’s essentially a Bottle Episode, but still uses various sets and uses the power outage plot to create a lot of chaotic scenarios. Most of them are really good. I liked Picard with the kids, which is as awkward as you’d expect it to be (albiet he’s over his asshole phase so it’s not as bad but still awkward) and, dare I say it, really cute! Worf having to play midwife was hilarious. I feel bad for poor Keiko, but still hilarious. The Data/Riker and Crusher/Geordi plots were also pretty nice. The only plot that I felt wasn’t that great was the Troi plot. Honestly… she shouldn’t have been given command, senority or not. She’s a counselor/psychologist, not a commanding officer. I’d have just had Ro and O’Brein stuck together and forced to take command of the Bridge. Not only were their interactions actually pretty interesitng to watch, but they clealry knew what they were doing faaaaar better than Troi did. I get they were trying to show her out of her element and apparently they do take this and use it as character development later from what I read, and her choosing not to seperate the ship incase others are alive even though it could lead to more death is very much IC for her. But it makes Troi, Ro, and O’Brien all look like idiots for putting Troi in a position thats she is unqualified for with her not at all arguign against this and the other two not pointing it out either even when she outright says that she doesn’t know certian protocals. Heck if they wanted to keep Troi on the Brdge, have Ro and O’Brein bickering Spock/McCoy style (which the they did a FAR better job emulaitng that here than when they tried with Pulaski and Data) and Troi playing peacemaker and putitng her counsling skills to good use. That’s right folks… Troi could have been Captain Kirk for a day XD That aside, I really enjoyed this! I liked seeing everyone out of their element, they made effective use of a power outage plot, and while no means perfect it was still fun~! Oh and O’Brein and Keiko have a baby girl now, yay~!!! 4/5.

Alright, we’re off to a decent start. So next round we have Wesley returning… but far more importantly, SPOCK IS COMING BACK FOR A TWO-PARTER! I’M SO EXCITED~!!! But for now, five episode down, 21 to go.

Like tragic but in a nice way. i love that shit. i'm a monogamous slut for romance pghiosuag even tho we have to learn to live alone too but it's just like the NOTION is nice?!??! awwww i told my mom that SOPHIE's gf was like "she died taking a picture of the moon" and how it was like idk. the gf was just processing it and she thought it was romantic and my mom was like "wow.....depressing" bc think she thought it was stupid millenial shit i was like no mother doent u see she died in the BEAUTY LMAO but then i told her jessica walter's husband died the year before and then she died and she was like "aw...kind of romantic" LMAOOOO i guess two people have to die. why did i tell this story? i am so sorry. the show ended today right (ep 10?) i didn't realize it was that short. so i hope it was a happy ending? (tell me) i understand why you love the atmos! it's like, not really been done. there's this BL that i hear isn't too great but it does take place in a rural part of thailand and there's way less budget. a lot of ppl seem to like it. ep 6 LW / LW in gen gotta be honest, rushed through it. i knew spoilers from jump cause BL spoilers are just absolutely nothing and sometimes ur just like i need to know. i do not understand the ~silently lookin 4 u~ trope it always backfires and is also DUMB. so happy about tiffy. a girl who likes girls but ends up with a man bc of mommy and also the man is ok....it's me. she's gorgeous and actually [h*lf] gay so it's great. god ok i feel so old again. lmaooo but i was like obsessed with lady gaga for that reason (dont ask...also how i got kinda popular on tumblr way back in the day) and shes just absolutely fucking beautiful and bad ass. however, when i started the show? i had NO clue what concept of time it was. and that was very annoying. tehy redeemed it bc of the comedy aspects (the first time shu yi sees shi de is so fucking good, i really loved the shot and editing; it’s hilarious and silly) and i started to go with the flow of the show through that. but the fucking concept of time in the show in general esp with repetitive outfits (i understand that they are more likely to wear multiple outfits as well, it’s just that you have to split it up or it i sconfusing visually and looks like the same scene twice or just a full day of shooting which it could be but then something should change in the clothes. this is just an ex~~*~*) and partof that is they have this already controlled narrative i guess.

i really liked tingting from my engineer a lot (idk if u have seen) she’s so fun and unapologetic. i love how much she drinks and if someone tells her to be ladylike she says no. and i appreciate that in the show when girls were rude to her she said nothing about the girls but said “NO IM NOT LUCKY TO HAVE ALL MALE FRIENDS?” i really want to see her more in the next season. obviously tiffy is goat. super excited to see how their rship develops.

I don't know why, but it just occurred to me that Harry Hart is probably from old money or a prestigous family. Like the light bulb just clicked in my head even though everyone else probably knew that. Given Arthur's attitude about Harry's little experiment, Harry's background is probably very elite as well. The idea of having to meet Harry’s family terrifies Eggsy.

10) coke or pepsi (or neither)? Pepsi! I always find Coke a little too sweet for me but everyone says they’re the same! 11) do you read tumblr tags? (generally the answer to this is yes but i’m curious) YESSSSS. Always. Even if it's a reblog of the same thing over and over again, I read everyone's tags. They're so entertaining.

I don't usually listen to Justin Bieber, but this song is really catchy even if I can't understand it. Candy Castles – Glass Candy. Even though it was super creepy in Westworld, this song is really sexy.

2) What details would a 30 second film of your life include? Oh god. Life in Finance is the dullest thing ever. 30 seconds of my life would put people to sleep. Probably me biking, hiking, spending time with my SO, and sitting still for hours as I read or write fanfics LOL. It would look like a jpg instead of gif xD

3) What is something that you know sounds ridiculous but you say it all the time anyway? "They hate us 'cause they anus (ain't us)" and also "same, same, but different". Both quotes from The Interview. I say it at work alll the time. My co-workers have even started saying it.

4) M/F/K 3 of your favorite sitcom characters, Ohh this is hard since I don't watch a lot of sitcoms. Marry Gilfoyle (Silicon Valley) 'cause he's just so sarcastic and smart. Plus, if I ever got in trouble, he would be very handy with his hacking skills. Fuck Detective Jacob "Jake" Peralta (Brooklyn Nine-Nine). I think Andy Samberg's pretty cute. Kill Kenny Powers (Eastbound and Down) because he's the most annoying, narcissistic, egotistical character ever (plus that mullet needs to go LOL).

I'm a one pairing at a time kind of gal but I really wish I could like multiple ships because it seems way more fun and you have more material to work with. 6) How many times a day do you check your dash? Too many times to count. It's really shameful. I have it open at work and when I close the window, I start checking my phone. I just wanna look at Colin Firth pics all the time, okay? ._.

7) What show do you still grieve for? Sense8. It was cancelled recently and I know they are going to have one more episode to tie up loose ends, but I'll miss all those characters, especially Lito

8) Who was your first celebrity crush and how did you respond? It would have to be Brad Pitt. After Interview with the Vampire, I just thought he was so gorgeous and then he went on to make more amazing movies like Se7en, Fight Club, etc.

9) Most overrated Actor/ Actress in your opinion? Tom Hardy. I don't have anything aginst him, but I just don't get the hype for him. His characters have never been memorable to me.

10) Most underrated Actor/Actress in your opinion? Ben Barnes. I loved him Chronicles of Narnia but the rest of his movies haven't done very well. He did Dorian Grey with Colin Firth, which I was really pleased about --Two of my favorite actors together on the same screen! I was really happy to see him in Westworld, but I'm pretty sure he's not coming back in the second season. He was one of my favorite characters on the show. I didn't think he could play a dick character, but he did it so well.

Hiveswap Episode 1 Reaction Part 3: Joey’s room? More like our eternal playground!

Before we start again, I had a random thought about something I learned yesterday.

So, Joey implied she doesn't really have any friends. But on the other hand, she also seemed to imply that she has a boyfriend when examnining the Clarissa poster. If she's so bad at making friends, then I'm really curious to learn more about her boyfriend!

I mean, assuming I understood it correctly, perhaps I misunderstood it and she doesn't actually have a boyfriend. :P

Anyway, day 3 of playing! It's weekend and 4:50 PM right now, let's see how much we'll get done today!

First of all we're gonna check out the closet, then try out some more combinations of using items on other items, there's a bunch of those that we can still try out, with the tap shoes, diary key and Cherub key. Afterwards, we'll probably examine the computer, window, walkie talkie and doors and see if we can advance!

Oooooh, nice, we can actually open the closet!

A bunch of puzzles and other neat stuff in there... including a Simon Says game! I saw that in concept art not too long ago, perhaps there'll be something special about it? ...And I'm not just saying that because it seems to be blinking like hell. :P

Oh boy... we can CHALLENGE the Simon Says game. Is this gonna be a mini-game? xD

plainWonder has a cool theory that Joey might use the batteries of this game for her walkie talkie! After having seen it in concept art I first thought she'd get batteries out of that radio, but perhaps this is a more likely theory!

...Pfff, so she even USED the batties of the walkie talkie ON the Simon Says game in the first place, hahaha.

GREEN BUTTON ISN'T WORKING, looooooool. Hahaha, it was worth the try/nostalgia.

Nope, can't use the batteries on the cherub key, obviously. :P

Was she still a baby when Ms. Claire died or not? Because if she was, I think there's a high chance Jude is NOT her son, which is an idea I've been playing around with already (what with their different surnames and all). If so, the question beckons who IS his mother.

Cherub Key && Animal posters ==> That is indeed the cutest idea ever. Even if they don't get any actual gifts from them, at least they still get some nice licks from them. :P

Batteries && Wardrobe ==> Indeed, and her wardrobe doesn't need batteries either, seeing as it's not a Wardrobifier. :P

Tap Dancer && Junior Veterinarian Medkit ==> Oh okay, so she IS still debating on which profession she would like to have in the future! I wonder if her experiences in this adventure will help her make a choice? Maybe... maybe we'll even be able to INFLUENCE which one she will eventually choose? Like, I could see it happening that she'll take care of Dammek's Lusus at some point perhaps, maybe it will get hurt or something. Not sure how her dancing skills would come into play (other than as fighting skill), but it could happen!

Or maybe it will even depend on how you play the game in general: do you take a more aggressive stance against enemies, fighting them with your dance skills, or do you instead go for a more passive route and take care of the wounded and such?

That would be interesting!

I guess like how all Kids and Trolls seem to grow up with no or only one Guardian around.

Diary/Cherub Key && Ballerina figure ==> WELP, that gives the same narration as diary key && Cherub key.

Cherub Key && Wizard glass ball ==> Haha, that reminds me of all the discussions in Homestuck on what is or isn't magic, and also the magical properties of wizards.

Tap shoes && Wizard glass ball ==> I love how there are so many combinations of the tap shoes with another item that cause her to just make a dance.

Batteries & Skaianet Calendar ==> OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHH, so THAT is the context of that picture! So apparently Skaianet isn't "just" a science company that was sneakily behind Sburb, but is actually a videogame company!!! Huh, I definitely didn't expect that! Now that picture suddenly makes a lot more sense, with them all being videogame figures.

Also, that gives a whole new context to Mom working for Skaianet! I always figured she just did it because she was into science, but the fact that they're actually actively making videogames makes a lot of sense too because we know Roxy is so into videogames!!!

That's definitely a cool mystery that just got solved!

Tap shoes && Skaianet Calendar ==> Oh shit! Alright, so that's confirmation that she is still in fact babysitting them and that it's not a thing from the past. Also, she's got a driving license! I guess it makes sense because she's probably... somewhere around 20 years old? Give or take a few years in either direction.

And like plainWonder said, that gives a REALLY interesting deadline for Joey to either return from Alternia or for Mom to notice something's up! Because 11/11/1994 is a Friday evening, which means that in the morning of the next day Mom should be coming!!!

Hmm... will Joey come back so quickly from Alternia??? Or are we going to get a surprise appearance from Mom in Hauntswitch or maybe even the end of Hiveswap???

Oh god I'd be so excited if she will physically appear in one of these games!

Let's see what happens if we try to leave Joey's room! She probably won't want to do it, because of the monster outside.

....Yup, that's indeed the case! She wants to warn Jude! Looks like we'll have to use the walkie talkie here, and thus put the batteries in. Which kinda surprises me that we "have" to do this, I thought I saw in concept art somewhere that she had the batteries in her inventory somewhere else? So can we remove them from the walkie talkie again or something?

Also, that bush there. It looks a lot like the snakey monster chasing Joey! That's also really suspicious, are these monsters "known" around here? Or at least by Grandpa or something?

Also goddammit yeah I can understand why Joey removed the batteries out of the walkie talkie, haha.

Walkie Talkie && Computer ==> Pffff, yes, unfortunately USB cables don't exist yet and as far as I'm aware there are no walkie talkies with USB ports. :P

Walkie Talkie && Game Controllers ==> Pff, so maybe those batteries WERE actually of the right type to be used for the walkie talkie but she just simply doesn't want to take them out of the controllers, haha.

I love how he just becomes increasinly meta as we keep on clicking it, kind of like in [S] YOU THERE BOY with continuously clicking on John.

And he just keeps on sounding more like the in-comic Andrew, hahahaha.

But... plainWonder's right. As we go on, he progressively sounds more and more like Doc Scratch. I mean... allotting time to 'talk' to us, being smug about being intelligent... This is kind of suspicious.

I highly doubt it's Doc Scratch, that it's just meant to be the narrator, but... HMMMMMMMMM

Okay, we've reached the end of it. Now it just keeps on repeating that the hint function is unavailable. xD

I'm pretty happy that we've just about finished up with the actual introduction of the game (LOL, that took long enough, like, 6-7 hours of gameplay so far holy shit), and can now get diving into more of the actual plot. xD
