It’s 2022 for me now, and everyone seems to be doing sappy posts appreciating people, so I want to do so too! Happy New Year everyone!!!!

@inkedmyths ink you’re the only non-mcyt friend/mutual on this list but you are such a cool person whom I appreciate a lot! Your art is so cool and I really appreciate your passion for your interests, and the fact that we share so many interests, mostly by chance!

@maybewren callum you are such a wonderful co-mod and friend, and I hope we can develop even more as friends in this next year of 2022! You go through so much but I want you to know that you are an awesome person, who deserves the world!

ok yknow what since i feel like i'm the only self-identifying boober in the world who has also been in the trenches of toxic droloism over the past few weeks i feel like i need to make my opinion clear on the current bullshit so here goes

i love dream So Damn Much, and i don't think people are necessarily wrong for pointing out the huge contrast in reactions from the community between dream and ranboo. both of them made a joke that was interpreted by some to be homophobic, and then both of them afterward clarified their sexuality in a joking way. dream was violently shat upon for the next week, both by the wider internet and by people within the mcyt community, many of whom are the same people who are congratulating ranboo and showing him nothing but support. and that sucks! and in my parasocial heart of hearts, it makes me so fucking sad and angry on dream's behalf, and i wish that literally any creator who knows dream could say or do Anything to publicly acknowledge dream being out as unlabeled in a positive way.

that being said, i think people pinning the responsibility on ranboo to be that person are missing the mark? and as vague as he was, i don't think he was off base to say as much as he did on stream. ranboo did not expect his coming out to be, as he said, a Big Deal. so i think he's within his right to offhandedly remark how "funny" he found it that it so quickly turned into discourse fuel. because yes, from a community perspective we can compare these things and they are worthy of discussion, but from ranboo's perspective it really is just people using his queerness as internet argument cannon fodder. so yknow, i get why that would stick out to him as weird and why he would want to comment on it.

ultimately, i have my share of criticisms over how ranboo can sometimes talk about his minecraft/dsmp fans, but he has never to my knowledge said a word against dream, and has been quite vocal about his admiration and respect for dream on multiple occasions. so yeah, as much Toxic Dream Stan rage as i still harbor within me, even towards some people and creators that i did enjoy and respect, i do not feel the need to direct any measure of that towards ranboo.
