Feel free to ignore, but got anymore ideas for cowboy!alejandro or cowboy!rudy?

A million yeah. I think I said their darling was the local vet, and I'm going to include that they're locally known as sort of a hot mess. But what are you gonna do? Go to another vet? What other vet?

Heads up I am going to have a very short mention of the reader being able to tie their hair up, and I am sorry for that but it is essential to me being horny right now. I want Alejandro to wrap my hair around his hand and pull me back like it's a leash. Moving on.

You soothe your hand over the side of the cow as you press your stethoscope against her ribs. She sounds alright, nothing that would need your attention. You check how her abdomen sounds, fine there too. You pull back to give the lady a cursory once over. She's laying in the grass looking sad and sorry, and according to the new ranchers she was makin' all sorts of noise about not gettin' up.

Said ranchers are hovering behind you while you're crouched next to the cow in question. New fellas tend to get protective of their herd, but usually you don't have to feel their eyes on you like this. Still, this is a lot even for you. They've been shadowing you since you got here, watching you a little too close to call friendly. You glance over your shoulder at Alejandro and Rudy, watch Rudy lean closer to Ale and whisper something. You choose to ignore it, and turn back to your work.

You scratch your head, feel a few hair slip loose of your bun, another annoyance to ignore. The cow seems healthy, and she's not making a fuss, she should be alright to move around. Still, you do your best to check her joints, move her legs and test mobility. You inspect her hooves and check for anything stuck between the two halves. She could use a trim up, but otherwise you'd call this a fine bovine.

You blow your hair out of your face and elect to just retie the damn thing. You tug your elastic out of your hair and wrap it around your fingers without thinking, scooping your hair up and out of the way, you loop the lacey material tight around your bun and stop. You'd lost your last hair tie this morning, forced to use the tried and true Pamela Anderson method. You're tying up your hair with a thong in front of two men you don't know.

You feel your face heat up, the warmth spreading all the way to the tips of your ears as you stare frozen at the cow. You snap your thong's elastic into place and get your hands away from your hair as fast as you can.

"I lost my hair tie this morning," You turn to explain to the men, unsure what you're expecting to see when you do, "and they're clean, I mean I wouldn't tie my chongo with dirty chonies, y'know." You laugh awkwardly, trying to avoid the heavy stares as you pack up your kit. "Cow seems fine, so why don't we just call this good and you call me if this happens again." You stand and check through your bag to be sure you got everything as you attempt an exit at lightspeed. "I wont bill you for this so let's just, uh, not mention that I flashed you or that I do this, or that I even really exist or am alive as a person."

"Oye," Alejandro clicks his tongue when you don't respond, "Mira me." Your eyes dart to him, your hand still dug into your bag. He tips his head with a crooked smile, and all the warmth in your face drops to settle between your legs. He leans close to Rudy and turns to mumble something to him. Rudy hums, and you think the heat in his eyes might be more dangerous than the wolf's smile beside him.

"Finish your exam," Rudy tells you, his tone low and commanding. What did these guys say they did before ranching? You glance back at the cow, who seems perfectly happy chilling in the grass.

"I really think-" Another click of Alejandro's tongue cuts you short, you turn to look at him and Rudy catches your face. His fingers grip your chin as he tips your to look at him.

"Finish your exam," He repeats, and you have the strangest feeling that this is the last time he'll repeat himself. The warmth between your legs pulses.

"On your knees," Alejandro's voice is thick with something you don't want to put a name to, but it drops heavy in your stomach when he finishes, "be a good girl."

Do Jewish people have their own fairy tales? Have they ever been published in books?

We absolutely do!

I wouldn't call them fairy tales, though, we call them Midrash, Aggadah, Chassidishe Meises, and folk tales, among many other names. They range from fairytale-like stories with fantastical creatures such as the Ziz, demons, vampires, ghosts, angels, and Golems, to stories about Jewish miracle-workers such as Shlomo HaMelech, Choni Ha'Meagel, and the Baal Shem Tov, to name a few. These stories range from historical accounts to parables to dreams, and they're all extremely important in Judaism and Jewish culture.

Every diasporic Jewish group has their own folktales, and we all have shared folktales regarding the Tanakhic era, and a lot of the Talmudical era.

Storytelling is very important in our culture, and every story is supposed to have a lesson within it. There's a concept in Judaism called "Ma'ase Avot Siman L'Banim", which translates to "A tale of the forefathers is a sign for the children". This means that every story that's was passed down and remembered and recorded was recorded for a reason, to be a lesson for the descendents who learn from it in the future. That's why seemingly inconsequensial happenings are recorded in the Tanakh, because they were recorded for a reason. We may not know the reason yet, but we can reinterpret and derive meaning from all our stories.

Publishing books and written text is extremely important in Judaism, and all these stories have been published multiple times over centuries, sometimes even millenia, in many different version and iterations. I couldn't even begin to try and list all of them, but I encourage you to browse through the links I've included for a good picture of the diversity and beauty of Jewish folk tales.

Whitebeard: *takes one look at your pitiful wet shaking and sniveling form, and decides to take pity on you and leaves you to his 1st and 2nd commands *

Ace: *helping you put sheets on your bunk, when he notices your phone on the night stand as it vibrates* What's that thingy?

You: oh it's just my phone.

Ace: *blinks at you in confusion*

You: my smartphone, ya know, like a cell phone.

Ace: You keep saying it like I know what that is.

You: you get calls and messages, and use it to talk to people from a distance.

Ace: oh, like a den den mushi! I've never seen one with a shell that shape, where's the snail though?

You: there's no snail, what on Earth are you talking about?

Ace: No, what are you talking about?

After figuring out what was going on

You: So, I'm not just displaced in space, but also in time....

Marco: what does that even mean?

You: *Sighs because you don't want to explain it.* It's nothing... cute snail by the way.

Ace: If your calls aren't done with a den den mushi, how does it work?

You: well, I'm not entirely sure, but it's complicated enough that I think the fact your culture uses snails is.... rather quaint.

Whitebeard: *watching you as your attention remains glued to the screen.* for something that just does calls, you're rather obsessed with it.

You: oh it does a bunch more, like I can take pictures and record footage. Like here, *snaps a picture of Whitebeard*

Whitebeard: *winces from the flash*

You: hehe, look it *shows him a picture of himself looking straight up his nose with a dog filter over it*

Whitebeard: I'm hideous, throw it away immediately.

The next morning

Ace: See I told you I could carry four crates cat once!

You: *recording him* oh wow, look at that.

Ace: *rapidly shifts his body to account for the boxes wobbling, and he has to take a wide step, ripping the crotch of his pants*

You: *learns Ace do not wear chonies *

Ace: *tries to correct himself, so he wasn't swinging in the breeze, and ends up dropping the crates, and drops the crates.*

You: here cover yourself with this. *Hands him the blanket you were using as a shawl*

Ace: *wraps it around his waist just in time*

Marco, Izou, and Thatch: *comes check out the loud crash*What happened?

Izou: *runs over to save a tin of matcha from rolling into the ocean* hey, you almost cost me a week's worth of tea!

Thatch: *grumbles* here we go with his tea again.

Izou: it is tea, you peanut head!

Thatch: tea is leaves, that is powder!

Ace: *looks over at you, and remembers you were recording him before he fell* to delete it.

You: delete what?

Ace: your phone.

You: ohh *wants to save it for possible black mail for later*... I accidentally turned it off, see, so it probably didn't save the video*shows him the dark screen*

Ace: turn it back on, and check.

You: hmm, I actually shouldn't, it has limited power, and it was already pretty low.

Marco: what powers it? You: electricity, which is like domesticated lightening.

Marco: not easy to come by, from the sounds of it.

You: not here, no. So I should turn it off and use it less.

During breakfast

Izou: why do none of you know how to make a decent cup of tea, I'm not even asking for proper.

You: *hand him a piping hot cup of matcha*

Izou: *sighs and reluctantly accepts it,* wait... this is perfect, how do you know how to make matcha?

You: I read a lot, plus I'm used to a broader global community letting me see into different cultures.

Izou: on that enter nets you mentioned last night?

You: yep on the internet, I'm used to being able to have most of human knowledge at my fingertips.

Marco: and having a constant source of stimulation, that's why you keep picking at yourself when you go without doing something for a few minutes. Speaking of which, stop it *smacks your hand way from your face*

You: yep.

Later that week

You: *pushing yourself along the floor on your back and whining* I'm bored.

Ace: *throws a book at you because you've been whining nonstop to him*

readalong riverdale playlist guide

songs have been added in no particular order. sometimes songs tie to broader visions of a musical episode, but some are just “they should have shoehorned this in somewhere in that classic riverdale way”. all songs are musical theater songs. yes i know they did superboy and the invisible girl but they did it wrong (sorry cami, you were great). this is an eternally updating playlist and guide. enjoy!

Corner of the Sky, from Pippin: Archie!!! This literally could happen anywhere at any point in time. What is this song if not Pippin going left Pippin going right. Put this wherever your heart desires. I want to come up with a Pippin musical episode plot because it’s so good. Jughead singing "Simple Joys" over a montage of Archie not dealing with his problems… I’m getting carried away.

Kind of Woman, from Pippin: Veronica would sing this in an entirely unselfaware way. I’m thinking early season two. Isn’t it a beautiful vision?

Superboy and the Invisible Girl, from Next to Normal: THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN A COOPERS SONG. I’m mentally rewriting the n2n episode with this being a Coopers song.

Could I Leave You?, from Follies: A timeskip Veronica and Hermione duet at their respective shitty husbands. It ends with Hermione resignedly going back to the minutiae of marriage and with Ronnie shooting Chad in the face. Don’t worry about how this messes with plot this isn’t about that.

Your Fault, from Into the Woods: Read this post and envision a beautiful ITW episode.

I’ve Never Been in Love Before, from Guys and Dolls: Okay honestly? Archie and Josie duet. Cuter than "Fight For Me", imo.

Mother Knows Best, from Tangled: Alice, duh. Season one or season seven.

Do You Hear the People Sing?, from Les Mis: Season six union stuff baybee! Hand in hand with "Bread and Roses". It also would be really funny to have KJ and Vanessa, who in my opinion suffer the most from iPhone Voice in the cast, to do such a grand musical-y song. It would not be very good but boy would it be entertaining.

Therapy, from Tick, Tick… Boom!: BUGHEAD DYSFUNCTION DUET YES PLEASE. Let’s say season four. "Exquisite Corpse" vibe, but suppress it all. Maybe the problem’s simply codependency!

Get This Right, from Frozen II: Okay hear me out this is one of the most stupidly romantic songs I have ever heard. An Archie song, obviously. Timeskip Varchie. Maybe he’s actually about to propose, maybe not, doesn’t matter. All that matters is how much I genuinely think KJ could have slayed this song.

Being Alive, from Company: Obviously go read Jughead’s Weird Fantasy right now if you haven’t already. But even in Riverdale canon I would want Jughead to sing this in timeskip. If we’re getting specific it feels very Tabby tucking him in after he gets too drunk at the key party. Sorry for nixing the gay subtext by putting it next to a Jabitha moment jail for a million years for me I know. It could also be after Archie calls him when he’s in NYC. There you go, gay people.

Something’s Coming, from West Side Story: Season one or seven Archie. Just feels very wholesome. I think it would be cute. Could be performed on stage if season one.

How Did We Come to This?, from The Wild Party (Lippa): A Veronica La Bonne Nuit performance that somehow becomes a group number (she’s the only one singing on stage though). Season three. No "Queenie Was A Blonde" tag. I could make an AMV to this song. I should not do that I already have three in the works. But I could.

Run Away with Me, from The Mad Ones: This is purely self-indulgent because I like on-the-road Jarchie and I have a soft spot for this mediocre musical for personal reasons.

Suddenly Seymour, from Little Shop of Horrors: Choni! Choni forever and ever amen. Season seven, I think, when Cheryl finally accepts that she’s a lesbian and is facing homophobia from her family/society/etc. Cheryl is Audrey which is funny because “mama was poor” lol no she wasn’t. They should go all the way and get the rights to change the lyrics to Suddenly Toni. Neither Madelaine nor Vanessa has the right voice for this song even a little bit. I do not care.

Partner in Crime, from Tuck Everlasting: Betty and Archie. In my wildest fantasies this is like a season four flashback to them as kids and we have kid Barchie sing this song but other than that I think this could be a number when they’re hooking up in timeskip. Even though I don’t approve of Barchie hooking up in timeskip because I hate straight people I do think they would slay this. KJ specifically I think would sound great on this, it’s not really a Lili song but oh well. Another version that would be incredibly funny but not as good would be having timeskip Veronica and Reggie sing it about, like, actual crime.

Totally Fucked, from Spring Awakening: Kevin-centric group number in the style of "In" or "Beautiful". Could be anywhere from seasons two to four. Maybe we include the “did you write this?” thing with Betty and Jughead as Melchior. They did some expose for some paper. You know how it is. I wish the Riverdale characters were allowed to say fuck so bad.

Moving Too Fast, from The Last Five Years: Timeskip Jughead. It almost fits but doesn’t in a way that’s oh-so-Riverdale.

The I Love You Song, from The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee: Sad. Shared between Betty, Veronica, and Cheryl, but Veronica-centric (could be an unhinged La Bonne Nuit performance from her with cutaways to the other two, actually). Whenever the most amount of parents in this group are in jail. There’s at least one meaningful shot of Jughead reacting.

I’m Breaking Down, from Falsettos: Okay this one is sort of cheating because I don’t necessarily want to fit it into the actual canon of Riverdale I just think if Archie had come out in high school Veronica would have pulled a "The Ladies Who Lunch" and done this at La Bonne Nuit. I think Cami would body that.

What Is This Feeling?, from Wicked: Hear me out. Bret/Jughead duet.

For Good, from Wicked: Betty and Veronica, season seven. Or quad number in late s4/early s5 before the timeskip. I think Lili would sound gorgeous on this, especially the bridge.

Two-Player Game, from Be More Chill: Look Joe Iconis wrote music that was used in Archie: The Musical let me have this okay. Season one Jarchie. Jughead as Michael obviously even though he’s nothing like Michael and Archie is nothing like Jeremy. I just want to make Cole Sprouse say “favowite”.

Mother’s Gonna Make Things Fine, from A New Brain: I have a whole beautiful vision for an A New Brain musical episode that takes place in season four. It’s too long to get into right now but just know it’s there and it’s gorgeous and I’m going to fully flesh it out soon. Once again this is obviously an Alice song, except instead of well-meaning Jewish mom it’s overbearing evil (albeit MILFy) WASP. She’s fretting over Betty because Betty’s fretting about college or Jughead or something who cares. I just need Mädchen to do this.

Change, from A New Brain: This would happen about three quarters of the way through the episode. In classic Riverdale fashion they’d get a little insensitive with it and this would be a Ronnie La Bonne Nuit performance. Change the government kill the mayor! Say that! Even if the mayor is your parent! Especially if the mayor is your parent!

Brain Dead, from A New Brain: This is my favorite part of my A New Brain musical episode. It’s once again a Bughead repression duet. Just imagine the lavender marriage dream sequence anger tango they would do. I also think Cole Sprouse wouldn’t sound too horrible on this song. High praise. No lyric changes Jughead is saying “as the MD lifts me in his cruisy chiseled arms”. I’m getting angry about the fact that I will never get to see this on my screen I’m going to do some breathing exercises to calm down.

Take Me or Leave Me, from RENT: We’re gonna split this up among couples in classic Riverdale fashion. Timeskip, our Maureens are Kevin and Veronica, and our Joannes are Fangs and Archie. The Joannes don’t really work so maybe we’ll pull another classic Riverdale and cut their verses. Unfortunately the best line of the song (“Women, what is it about them? Can’t live with them or without them!”) has to be cut. I wish Choni could also sing this but alas it can’t work in this. Mostly this is an excuse to give Casey Cott more stuff to sing and I think it would be hilarious if he sung this.

Tango: Maureen, from RENT: Honestly, Riverdale both could and would do a really messy RENT episode. I should ruminate further on that. Anyway. I don’t actually know where or how this could work but I want it to be a weirdly sexually charged Vughead duet. But that makes Betty or Archie Maureen, and they are not Maureen… I don’t know. This one’s just in here because I like imagining Cole Sprouse dancing, and because I think Jughead is Jewish and it would be really funny to hear him say “Riverdale Jewish Community Center”. Let’s go with timeskip. She cheated! She cheated! Betty cheated! Fucking cheated! Oh, shit, could this be a Jarchie song in timeskip when Betty and Archie are hooking up? I think it could! Wow. Good work gang.

Razzle Dazzle, from Chicago: I’m also creating a beautiful Chicago musical episode that I don’t have time to detail right now but trust me it’s awesome. It’s in season four, Hermosa is relevant to it. Anyway this is another Kevin-centric group number where everyone is lying to different people about different things. Crucially, Cole Sprouse says the line “they’ll never know you’re just a bagel”.

I Can’t Do It Alone, from Chicago: Veronica’s asking someone to help her scheme!

Mister Cellophane, from Chicago: GAY KEVIN. NEED I SAY MORE.

My Own Best Friend, from Chicago: Beronica duet. Lives would be changed. They’re sort of fighting at this point in the episode so there would be an underlying current of potential hatefucking. But that’s sort of always the case with this song tbh. Also this isn’t on this playlist but imagine Reggie singing "Roxie". So bad. So good.

American Idiot, by Green Day/from American Idiot: Songs from jukebox musicals count too, right? Archie-led group number obviously. Let’s go with season six, but it could be season one or five, too. Maybe he is the faggot America. Jughead says the line “now everybody do the propaganda”. There’s a coordinated dance thing a la "Random Number Generation".

A Cockeyed Optimist, from South Pacific: Archie, duh. Season one, six, or seven. Probably sung directly to a Lodge.

Watch What Happens, from Newsies: Betty, season four. She's doing a piece on the community center that Archie and Mad Dog co-run. I think Lili would slay this honestly. I debated adding the reprise largely so that I could have Cole sing the snake line and to have an iconic "the poor guy's head is spinning" thing side note how can I make Davey and Jack about Jughead and Archie someone needs to shoot me. Anyway we'd cut the stuff about Katherine being into Jack in this song obviously because Betty is unhappily hetero with Jughead. Hashtag women in journalism.

Matchmaker, from Fiddler on the Roof: 50sdale girls. Really strong fun gay visuals exist in my brain for this one.

Anything You Can Do, from Annie Get Your Gun: Vughead. Neither can I!

Let Me Entertain You, from Gypsy: Ronnie duh. Season three-ish La Bonne Nuit Era. Or Polly Amorous.

I Cain't Say No, from Oklahoma!: 50sdale Betty sexual awakening era. I can SEE a beautiful beautiful dream sequence vision where she dances around flirting with Archie and Jughead and Reggie and Veronica can't you.

Tribulation, from Schmigadoon!: Yes this is a TV show not a staged live musical who cares. I don't like Music Man I'm not putting "Ya Got Trouble" on here. Alice gets a patter I don't think Mädchen would be particularly good at it but it would be extremely fun. Season seven most likely, but let's be real it could come at any point in the show.

Naughty Baby, from Crazy for You: You think I'm about to say Veronica or perhaps Cheryl don't you. WRONG Dark Betty. Oh it would be so cringe so painful so bad so terrible. It must happen. I don't know when in the show it happens it could literally be any time in s1-6.

With One Look, from Sunset Boulevard: Ronnie... I'm thinking s5 Riverbucks era.

Pick and Choose - Blossoming Love

Riverdale

Warnings: cheating (I do not encourage this), CHONI, hints of depression, talks of past trauma.

Pairings: Cheryl Blossom x fem!reader

Word Count: 1566

AN: Well, I finished this way faster than I thought I would, so here we are. I hope this isn't as shit as I think it is. 😃

A month. A whole ass month's worth of all this chatting, dating, and being clingy. You were so tired. You wanted a break, at least for a few minutes. In complete honesty, it wasn't all bad. You appreciated the gifts, the words of affirmation, and the romantic dates. All you wished for was a little distance. Everything was getting so serious so fast, and the fact that Cheryl made you feel so good about yourself didn't sit right with you.

Vulnerability wasn't your strong suit. It made you feel small. It made you feel like you were weak. So, to have someone act so close to you, made you feel things you didn't want to feel. "My love, what is on your mind?"

You tore your eyes away from the invisible speck on the ground and focused on your lover. You shook your head, "Nothing."

"I fear I don't believe that. Something else on your mind must have stolen your attention away from my gorgeous frame."

You internally cringed, not knowing whether to make an excuse or tell her exactly what was on your mind. "I'm just thinking of... things."

"Anything I can assist you with?"

You wrapped your arm around yourself and rubbed it on the bicep it landed on. Cheryl eyed your hand and squinted at it. "Not really. They're pretty mundane things."

Cheryl let you slide and opened her phone as it pinged. She grinned but rolled her eyes at the message she received. It read, "Fine, you win." Cheryl intended to ignore the message entirely, but then she got curious about how things would turn out. So, Cheryl being Cheryl, she let herself fall into the moment. "Meet me on our spot at Pop's."

"Dear, Y/N, I apologize, but I must leave. Something very important has come up. But do expect that once I get back to you, I will have very exciting news." Cheryl gave you a smile before she stood up and left, seemingly in a hurry. You didn't even get a word in, not that you minded.

Finally, peace and quiet.

On second thought, your book gently fell back against the table as your mind wandered off somewhere no one would ever find. What could it have been? Cheryl would stay with you the whole day, and when she would tell you that she had to leave earlier, she'd let you give out a response before changing her mind and staying instead. You were so curious, it was, honestly, killing you.

It took every fiber in you to take your book seriously. It was a good book. You didn't want to miss out.

Toni sat there in all her glory waiting for Cheryl's striking entry, wearing her serpent jacket. She had made sure to dress up the way Cheryl wanted her to, knowing that if she did, their chances of getting back together would be higher. When the bell attached to the diner's door jingled, she turned her head to it, visibly lighting up as she spotted her favorite redhead strutting up to her.

"I knew you couldn't live without me, I am, simply, the best thing anyone could ever ask for. So, dear Tee-Tee, I hope you've prepared a speech to move me enough to take you back." Cheryl sat on the stool to Toni's right and faced her ex.

"Cheryl, I know we both can't live without each other. I can feel it. it's like we're bound together by some invisible string that makes us tied to each other. Cher, we complete each other, and this past month without you has been painful as hell." The way Toni spoke was gentle and soft. Cheryl loved this about her Toni. Her Tee-Tee could match the sensitivity of a situation with her words, and that made Cheryl feel safe. Toni handled her with so much care and patience, and she fell in love with that. She fell for Toni so hard and so fast.

Toni meant everything to Cheryl, and losing her might as well be the world's end. With Toni, it was all or nothing for Cheryl. It was either commit or don't commit. She wanted to commit. They both did, but for Cheryl, something came up. Sure, she still wanted Toni, but not as much as before. Now, she only wanted Toni at a certain level.

They love each other dearly. They cared for each other. But there was this large strain in their bond that made it seem like fixing things or talking it out would not suffice as a fix. They felt compelled to hear the three words they dedicated to each other again, but Cheryl had restraints now.

Then in the heat of the moment, Cheryl found herself leaning back against the counter while Toni pressed her body against her's for a big kiss. It was slow and passionate, something they'd been yearning to experience from each other again. Now that Cheryl had Toni again, everything else just didn't matter, or in Cheryl's mind, fuck it.

They found themselves in Cheryl's bedroom at the Thistle house, making out against her door like they would die if they stopped. It just felt so good. Their hips gyrated against each other, the moment proving to grow hotter by the second. As Cheryl's back hit the soft mattress of her bed all the while keeping her lips locked onto Toni's, it sealed their fate for the night.

When they awoke the next morning, they did their morning routine. They shower together while making no effort to keep their hands to themselves, cooking breakfast, and holding onto each other on their way to school. They were both still reeling off from their midnight escapades the previous night, so the world was pretty much blurred around them. Their focus remained on each other, not even bothering to hide their very couple-ly PDA.

You noticed, of course. I mean, they were everywhere and they were the talk of the school. Most students murmured about Choni being back together, while the smaller half muttered sick comments saying how Cheryl used you to get Toni back.

You weren't going to lie and say you weren't hurt. You were, but not as much as you should be. Were you hurt? It wasn't like you cared about Cheryl at all. It's not like you weren't just starting to get comfortable enough to open up to her. Funny enough, you were, actually, planning on telling Cheryl everything tonight. Oh, well. It didn't matter anymore. She finally had what she wanted.

You proceeded with your day like normal. I mean, nothing really changed, it wasn't a big loss. That's what you told yourself at least. As the day dragged on, you forced yourself together, squeezing your eyes shut for a few seconds before opening them again to relieve some of the drowsiness you felt. When all of your classes for the day finished, you headed to the library and sat down on the floor between two aisles of bookshelves, resting your head in the palm of your hands as you curled your knees up to your chest.

Life, for you now, is uneventful, other than the whole Cheryl thing. Your life before coming to the North side of Riverdale was hell, but it was perfect nonetheless. Your parents were there, your family, your grandmother, your home, your serpent family. It was all you knew, so when you had to move due to Hiram's work, it really crushed your soul. Then came the day of your family slowly being ripped away from you. It was like your heart was being gripped very tightly, thus causing you to feel as if it had stopped beating entirely. But it still was. It just took you a while to realize it.

After those traumatically tragic events, you opted to just go with the flow, sitting alone and keeping to yourself. You still hung out with the Serpents, of course, they are your only family left after all. But even if that is the case, you still felt like you were the only one who was left in the moment of grief. It looked, to you, like you were stuck in a ditch with no chance of getting out any time soon. It took something that shined as bright as the sun to find a way out, but even then, time was at a standstill for you.

Along with that came the emptiness you felt. It was like you had something to do, but you didn't know exactly what that thing was. You were in a very complicated ditch, and there wasn't anything to grab onto around you. But there was one, only it was all the way on the other side, and you didn't have enough energy to get up and get to it. You wanted help, yet you were too tired to seek it. For you, it was exhausting to even think about, getting up to help yourself and all that.

In this ditch, it was dark and cold. It felt like there was this big storm coming and it was nighttime, and there was no safe place around for you to nestle yourself in for, at least, the shortest amount of time. It was like, wandering around the desert, stressed, tired, and cold. It was pressuring. The world was pressuring. It motivated you yet diminished your confidence in conquering its trials. It tested your patience greatly.

And you aren't the most patient person to ever exist.

choni truly has the best relationship arc this season, and I love how even though this memoryless version of them is a redo of their relationship, their story is about them falling for eachother again showing us their true feelings -especially in toni's case- while avoiding past mistakes. I wish we could have seen them as adults together but idk there is something so special with them this season that makes their story feel full circle

no, exactly. like, i always understood the potential of the 50s for choni, thinking they'd fall in love again and toni would be unable to fall out of love when they got back to the present and she'd have to confront the feelings for her she's been trying to ignore, but was annoyed at the possibility of them being there past midseason because i REALLY wanted to see choni together as adults for a solid handful of episodes. but once it became clear we were staying there for much longer, i accepted it, and now i love it. i do wish we could have a few episodes in the present, but alas. by now it's too late, and even if they did get back a couple eps sooner than 19 (which is when i expect it), they'd probably drag the reunion out until the finale at that point anyway.

but when you think about it, not only are we getting a redo of their early story and seeing the writers fix their mistakes, but it really adds such an extra layer of depth to their relationship and story that a simple straight forward reunion in the present wouldn't. like, yeah, i would love to hear present toni tell cheryl that she never stopped loving her and it was always her, but this storyline PROVES it, you know? she fell for cheryl in that very first episode and hasn't stopped, and not only has she not looked twice at fangs, but she hasn't shown interest in a single other person, in a season where all the other characters have been playing musical partners and feeling drawn to people they've had feelings for at some point. that says SO much, about both choni and t*ngs, it proves that toni never stopped loving cheryl and that she never loved fangs (and fangs never loved her), that without anthony's existence, they would have never even thought about it. which anyone with a brain already knew, but again, this is such a good way to prove it, both to the audience and the characters.

i also think that the way it's being written works well as a reunion arc substitution, the way they're giving them similar issues and dynamic so they can do it right. it gives them a chance to show to the audience how their relationship would work better the second time around, with their characters more grown and mature; not only are the writers not making the same mistakes with them again, the characters aren't making them either. like, their communication this last episode was amazing, especially compared to the mess in 3b, which will be important for adult choni when they get back together.

also, given what tabitha said in the present, i really do think they'll end up getting back to a present that's different than the one we left, and there's a decent chance some things regarding fangs and anthony might be rewritten, like if midge ends up being alive in the present (which i have to assume will be the case, because surely they aren't gonna have fangs lose a wife, fiancee and kid all at the same time lmao), which count me in! but if that's the case, i would like them to get their memories back in the 50s and have toni end things with him and tell cheryl it was always her, so i can have the best of all worlds.

lastly, it's just so nice to finally be the shipper group most satisfied. for once, we've finally got it the best and have the best storyline, with the most care being put into it. i waited years for this moment!

Do you know of any (or if you have a list) of exes to lovers wlw romance in a tv series? I’d even be open to suggestions in movies/any other form of media cos I’ve been scouring the net for anything of that sort but have come up short, so I was hoping you’d know some! Thanks in advance!

I couldn't think of anything on the spot either so I asked a group chat and they had some suggestions.

We honestly couldn't think of many that started as exes, just Fear Street (the movies) and Piper and Alex from Orange Is the New Black.

But with enough longevity, a lot of ships have broken up and gotten back together? Bette and Tina on The L Word, I actually really liked that this season's arc on Station 19 where Maya and Carina were very tentatively making their way back to each to each other, I guess the first season of NCIS: Hawai'i would count?

I dunno, we kept on thinking of ships that got together on screen, broke up on screen, and then got back together...on screen. Bo/Lauren on Lost Girl, Tessa and Mariah on The Young and the Restless, Choni on Riverdale seem to get together again a lot, maybe Van and Tai on Yellowjackets....... Probably so many of these, Brittana on Glee, etc.

What did you think of the series finale?

I guess I don't understand what they were trying to say with it? If they were trying to say anything at all. Like, they presented us with these characters that love each other so much but then they tell us they lost contact after they graduated high school BUT you should not be scared because they reunite in Betty's version of the afterlife. What was that about, really? 😭 I found that to be bittersweet, or just sad. And a little weird, too. There was a bit of a whiplash of the scenes of them in their senior year, being all so lovey-dovey with each other, to a future where they weren't part of each other's lives at all.

Was that supposed to be a little bit of "realism" in the very end? I don't know how to read it.

I feel neutral about it - I don't hate it, but I don't like it either. And it's not because of endgames or what. I think it was a terrible decision, to make the finale a sort of eulogy in Betty's pov about a day that she never got to live.

Because, essentially, those moments didn't include her in real life. She didn't get to live that day. And by reliving it, she doesn't really change anything either, because that's only an illusion.

I do think having Jug talk to Betty about the future while she relived that day was a smart way of presenting what happened to the characters BUT it took away what we wanted - their point of view. I wanted to know what real Archie (not dream illusion Archie), what real Veronica felt. The endgame ships (Choni and Clevin) deserved a 1x1. Other dynamics that didn't include Betty deserved more attention.

And we don't even know how things really went, because Betty wasn't there for the real deal lol and it's a disservice for people who watched this show for other characters.

And yeah, I guess the message is that people come and go from your life but that they matter and are important regardless of you growing apart. It's a bittersweet feeling, but I feel like it didn't really fit with what we knew about these characters.

HOWEVER I do give it to ras that he kind of tied the knots in an interesting way. He's given BA an emotional goodbye and at the same time stopped any hopes for their future (remember when I used to say that as soon as they were not boy/girl next door anymore, that idea would fall apart?), got VA living in the same state forever, didn't give any hints of Vs romantic future or show Archie's wife so you're left wondering if it could be V, got BH living similar single lives on NYC. I think that in the end, bugvarchie did get an open ending, while barjeronica (and beronica) were confirmed to fall apart. That was clever of him, the read between the lines of it.

But yeah, the finale wasn't good imo. RAS best writing to date remain 401 and 503. Archie's POV would've done wonders for this finale btw.

Oct. 6th / 11th - adult varchie: adult varchie made us clown more than their teenage selves, but we still love them.

Oct. 12th / 17th - favorite parallel(s): whether they’re making you happy or sad, there’s been so many parallels for these two.

Oct. 18th / 23rd - varchie + other characters: varchie have had many supporters throughout the show. we’ll go as far as calling them shippers~

Romantic JV is back for good at the end of tomorrow's episode giving them the endgame and obviously BA will probably be back at the end of 717 setting their endgame and their focus of 718 and 719 based on BTS there is a lot coming for BA, betty watching Archie playing guitar for her through her window, scene with Mary, Jalopy with JV with Archie arm around Betty. 719 they have a double movie date with Choni thanks to Lili BTS we know they are dating by 719 which means BA, JV and Choni as endgame of the show

OT 2023 - GALA 1

We're back aaaaaa !!!! Anyways, just as I did with OT 2020, I will be talking about my top 3 favourite performances every week, as well as some honourable mentions. These posts will work a bit different than the OT 2020 ones tho, cause now the show is exclusively streamed in Prime Video, which means they do not upload the full performances to youtube, only 40 second clips. So, what I will do is link those clips in the honorable mentions and in the titles of my top 3, but I will include the full videos for the pases de micros. For the uninitiated, there are two pases de micros during the weeks; these are performances in the academy in front of the teachers that measure how they are doing and what things they should improve and stuff. Normally I will be posting the second one, cause those are usually best.

Anyways, let's start with some honorable mentions <3

Libertad - OT 2020: The first group song! I would say it was a perfect choice, this song really is perfect as a group song, and they sounded pretty good I think (except Suzette who didn't say her lines

Save your tears - Cris and Ruslana: They were good enough I would say! I thought they sounded good, and I really liked the scenography and such. Good performance 👍.

When I tell you I gasped when they gave them this song... El Encuentro is one of those songs that make me go feral, it's incredible and a bop and I've experienced it live (with both Amaia AND Alizzz !!!) and it's soooo good I love the feeling it expresses and the way it expresses it and yeah.... I'm so happy they got to sing it. I would say Chiara and Paul were perfect for it, they sounded so freaking good and I loved the acting (which becomes even better now that we know Paul has a crush on Chiara sjdsjdj). Also Paul !!! he was the favourite of the gala (SO DESERVED) and he's one of my faves so yeah :) loved this :)

2. PARA NO VERTE MÁS - ÁLVARO & NAIARA

Álvaro and Naiara, my favourite twink and choni duo... They're so iconic... Anyways, they had imo the hardest song to defend (not the most difficult but the most 'nominable' one) and they took a glance at that and said 'no thank you <3'. They were great, ate and left no crumbs, made it so so fun !!! They're the best, also Naiara has such a beautiful voice, possibly my favourite this edition.

THIS SONG. OF COURSE THIS WAS GOING TO BE NUMBER ONE. They were the best ones in the gala by far, and they deserved to shine so much, they worked so hard and had such a lovely connection and friendship, they're everything to me <3 Salma and Juanjo are rapidly becoming my favourites and I want to see them in other styles cause they're both folklore singers (Salma with flamenco and Juanjo with jotas) so this song was made for them. Even then, again, this performance was perfect, no notes.

And that was all! Overall, an average gala? I mean, it was the first one, my expectations weren't too high lol. Let's see what next week brings us, with two trios and both an Ana Mena AND a La La Love You song !!!! The nominees are Suzette and Lucas, and I'm not really rooting for any of them in particular, so I have no idea how it'll be go. Nevertheless, I am back hooked to OT, it was so quick lmao.
