fluff and angst(?)

liu kang and his champions were enjoying a meal at madam bo's when everything took an unexpected turn. out of nowhere, a sandstorm occurred, strangely manifesting indoors within the restaurant.

liu kang, in the midst of it, faded away into the sand, causing panic among the group. however, to their surprise, liu kang reappeared immediately as the sand gathered around him, but something was different—he was younger.

as the sandstorm calmed and vanished, and normalcy returned, the bewildered group noticed the transformed liu kang. equally confused, liu kang questioned why he was now among them.

younger liu kang questioned, "i was just training with the monks earlier. why am i now here?"

as he glanced around, he spotted kung lao. initially poised to speak due to a sense of familiarity, he soon realized that his friend was also different, leaving him momentarily silent in surprise.

raiden calmly commented, "we are just as surprised as you are."

liu kang then turned his attention to the man, sensing familiarity yet unable to place him. he inquired, "lord raiden? is that you? kung lao is here, so is johnny, and is that really you, kenshi?" as he glanced at each man in the room, liu found them all strangely familiar.

however, the confusion in their expressions mirrored the whirlwind of uncertainty that surrounded the unusual circumstances. there was so much going on, and the pieces of the puzzle seemed just out of reach.

in another timeline, fire god liu kang found himself in a place that felt oddly familiar—it was wu shi academy, but not the one from his own timeline. he understood where the sands had brought him, having once been the keeper of time. a man called out to him, a voice he recognized, "who are you? what is your purpose of visit?"

liu kang stood frozen for a moment, then turned around to see kung lao. "liu kang?" kung lao questioned.

upon seeing his old friend, liu kang's realization dawned, and without hesitation, he went for a tight hug. overwhelmed by the joy of reuniting, liu kang held onto kung lao, who, still confused, allowed the embrace without resistance. the reunion spoke of a deep and dearly missed connection between the two friends.

feeling much better now having gotten some sleep (the dont trust how you feel about yourself past 9pm is good advice no joke)

of course all my criticism of totk still applies but im feeling less depressed about it, tho i will say its honestly kinda baffling how many times the game actually got me interested and excited about stuff and then just kinda drops it in a dead end, of course they were those kind of things in botw as well but it seems much less .. balanced in totk

(not even just the big things like making me want to actively do something to help zelda turn back when it just gets solved on its own in the end, but also some lil things like the fact that so many NPCs tell you about that newly discovered animal species and when you find the dongos they are just gem vending maschines)

in the end i can say, no, i dont like totk, tho i still love the graphics and the way the world is made ( botw showed me jsut how immersive and alive a world can feel i love it to death), i liked the gameplay and that it kept the freedom botw had established, the bossfights are mostly fun (tho i wish you could refight more of them), i LOVE the yiga and im glad they got more of a spotlight, the music is FANTASTIC i keep catching myself humming along, alot of the sidequests are much bigger and feel like you are actually doing something, i like how the sages are a bit more integrated into the story, the majority of the new designs are great, both the japanese and german voice acting is great, and the end fight has some of the best build up i have ever experienced, my heart starts to race when that music build up starts even tho i have beaten it 3 times already-

however, the story is both simple and incredible flat with lots of stuff that doesnt make sense especially when it was said to be a sequel, the zonau should have stayed a mystery imo, they failed to make me care about them even a little bit and often felt forcefully crammed into the world and its history, i think you could have told an incredible story taking place in the present and leave the past be the past, you easily could have connected botw and totk in a much better way than they did, i dont like how it changes aspects about botw all the while nigh ignoring it ever happened, it still feels like it was trying to be a replacement and not a sequel and all the referencing and callbacks to the old titles may have been done in good faith but that and including time travel yet again ultimately lead to people ripping each other to shreds over trying to prove its placed in the old timeline despite it making no sense at all and confusing people even more; often when the game made me care or be excited about something it was dropped in a dead end, there was a ton of missed opportunities and lost potential to tell a much more nuanced and interesting story/lore, and thinking about it only makes me sad for the things that could have been

overall i think my disappointment is outweighing my fun and the only way i can keep playing it while having fun is ignoring everything that isnt, which works quite well most of the time since im pretty much done with all story stuff but i keep slipping into my little rants nonetheless; i will say its making me a little worried about the future of the franchise, but i know im in the minority and maybe i will just have to accept that the new stuff wont be for me anymore and i should not hope for anything that interests me xD

except for some meme material or specific characters i love i dont think i will make much use of anything totk tried to establish, and i hope thats fine with the lot of you (<3) hopefully that also means my ranting days are over xD

anyway, back to making niche art i go! (sorry for making you endure these long ass rambling posts :,) )

ok option one: as their partner. i feel like he'd put off meeting him for AGES but very subtly like phys doesnt even realise until they clock on a few months later like hey... ur always disappearing when the professor comes about whats up with that.... and oumas like hm? me? not so! but he clearly is. he's probably just weirdly nervous + finds the whole 'meeting the parents' debacle a subject of abject horror but he'd rather die than admit it. i think it'd like... have to happen on his terms if that makes sense. like he barges into the office building when he knows phys and the professor are working together under the pretence of dropping something that belongs to phys round and just being 'omg!!!! fancy seeing u here :D' . i think in his mind he just needs to be in control of it so he's not taken aback or wrongfooted at all. in this scenario the professor thinks he's a little weird but kinda funny like a little jester.

option two: as their friend. assuming this is just kinda pre-relationship or entirely platonic, their connection is still super evident. i think ouma in a platonic relationship would be way more relaxed about meeting him so it'd probably happen way more naturally, like the professor just runs into them hanging out one time and phys introduces him. ouma would also be more playful in this scenario, probably try to weird the professor out a little. however in my head the professor is allergic to being weirded out because he always believes himself to be the biggest freak in the room ( the franz kafka effect ) so he's just like ok u kids have fun :3

option three: youre sick in the head. they meet at the funeral and ouma doesnt say a word to the professor. he almost doesnt go at all but he's convinced at the last minute by the others and he stands at the back with a totally neutral face the whole time and leaves the moment theyre buried. the professor notices him but he doesnt know what to make of it. they probably never meet in this timeline because ouma cant bringe himself to face him.

but no for real now. to preface im very forgetful when it comes to fnaf lore and i sometimes miss some plot points and many times they affect my headcanons (once i remember them) but i cant check everything. im just forming my own little timeline with my own ideas i guess, but i still want it to be canon adjacent So!

i believed that its taking place post SB, pre Ruin. which i was super happy with as i was worried it would be pre-SB and not give enough lore that i crave. however, just as ive seen some people say, this didnt help with the lore much, and it just got more confusing for me. still a fantastic game but from a lore point it doesnt give us anything too big or a conclusion (well. maybe one) i also saw people say its post ruin, which i dont agree with but i would agree with during ruin. (when ppl say cassie is the player, i dont think so, need more arguments) its unclear once people bring in other arguments than the obvious roxy's mask or the state of the pizzaplex. but basically as an afton believer its hard for me to work around this, but i will try. never back down never what?

so my hc is iykyk, scraptrap->man in the room->ghost/amalgamation->latching onto tech and the mimic in the form of glitch and burntrap->mimic "shedding" him->wills ghost forming mxes; it also works without the frights books but the afton amalgamation and everything around it is too cool to not use. i fucking love ruinborn afton graaaaah *tears shirt apart* i also liked the idea of his spirit shattering and a piece of it forming glitchtrap for years, and i believe it can coexist with mimic, i think burntrap was real and is both mimic and afton.

now. this game. really messing it up for me as glitchtrap existing post or during burntrap just doesnt make sense, i dont want -trap multiples or something (sounds like the years old 2-3 purple guys theory lmao) but i will look into it as glitchtrap and mxes connection..? honestly, i really expected getting to see burntrap here (or at least mimic shown). was burntrap like retconned or something for real??? also still dont understand when people say burntrap isnt the mimic or whatever. no, it is, just with something a little extra on. and that extra is again, wills ghost or remnant or whatever you wanna call it, symbolized by the bonnie parts on his endo, but theres also flesh so yeah, as funny as it sounds i fuck with the afton homunculus growing over mimic theory. its stupid enough, he would do it.

but i wanna focus on mxes, i knew we wouldnt see the entity in the game, didnt expect it. but i also didnt expect the system to show up, which it did, but obviously not the entity yet as i believe they were formed only after burntrap has been "scooped" by tangle (comparing the scooper mimic ending and the burntrap one as a parallel) i just dont understand how glitchtrap is in here. thats the thing i cant figure out! this is 100% post SB so at that point glitchtrap is just gone. how did we get him back now? only ends up with me reaching with like MEGA SPOILERS the vanny ending crushing glitchtrap being a metaphor of her locking away or deleting the code. extreme reaching would be stuffing it into the mxes system where glitch would turn into the entity. but thats way too loose, but ive seen many people call the mxes entity glitchtrap, which doesnt even work with their theory that glitchtrap is mimic, because the entity is obviously not the mimic. like you have to consider this too, not just mimicmimicmimic but then agree that a glitchy rabbit is similar to another glitchy rabbit

lost my thread of thought. and thought of how this all is just, an end to glitchtrap era and only mimic in the future. well.. without an evil rabbit, fnaf will lose its charm for me, i dont know if vanny!cassie would save it for me, i only want wiwi. more wiwi, no mimi *starts glowing red and then explodes* anyway its not that bad. as long as i get to see the mxes entity again i will be good. and as long as im right about the clickteam game, i will be happy :D

also im intrigued by the fallfest showing up again, i really want to see how the maps look and look at all the details.. but in general the area is either underneath or next to the pizzaplex, the body of water in curse of dreadbear imo is the same as the underground water in ruin and hw2 to me confirmed that it truly is all in one place (goes nowhere with this). i love how the hw2 hub is in the pizzasim building. also, another thing, need to check it out again but i want to see if scrap baby is in a vr level or reality so i can theorize about scraptrap, as in, if at least tangle and scrap baby are still around and real in the plex, it would make sense for scraptrap to not show up because he has gone through digitization /j you know the whole pipeline. and so on and so forth

sans has many ties to science

i dont have much to say about this he just kind of does

here are some examples

another great example is his fight but that would be way too long

now to papyrus once again

despite what he may seem like papyrus has many ties to science too which most people dont notice

now lets continue to one of many reasons why this is important

TIMELINES

its a suprisingly common misconception that sans remembers timelines but that is false

he seems to guess many things from "your expression" which the human's sprite doesnt show

he also seems to get some info from "reports"

papyrus also probably knows atleast something about timelines

if they do or do not know what is going on is up for depate

some may say that papyrus doesnt realize the implications of what he says sometimes and to those people i say go away please

lets move on to a very intresting topic

SHORTCUTS

its more than well known that sans can use something called "shortcuts" which seems to be some form of teleportation

its very noticable to the players and many characters acknowledge it aswell

and yet some people think that papyrus doesnt know about it

papyrus very clearly knows about it and probably might be able to do it too

here was supposed to be something but i couldnt find it in my folder when i made the video and i still cant find it so nevermind

anyway sans is often depicted as extremly powerfull and papyrus as very weak which is not true

let me tell you a fun fact

papyrus is the only enemy who no matter how hard you try will not kill you

toriel can kill you by accident but papyrus refuses to for some reason

he is so good that he can even do 0 damage when you get hit at 1 hp (or atleast it is coded that way)

most of you probably already knew this but i just wanted to put this in the video and posts just in case someone somehow did not

now lets move on

"EYE"

in many fan works sans is drawn with a constant blue "eye" that makes a fire for some reason

however in the game his "eye" is not constant and only appears sometimes like when he controls gravity to smash you against the walls

also its not only blue instead its blue and yellow and flickers between those two colors

it also doesnt make a fire lol

this seems way more cool than a fire in my opinion but whatever

it is not known if papyrus has an "eye" like that

but many people draw him with an orange one becus of a popular theory

the theory being that the traits described in the ball game are not only connected to the souls but other things too

such as sans' "eye" which would make it blue for patience and yellow for justice

this theory makes sense and is mostly good

however orange is for bravery and while papyrus is brave there is a trait that fits him better

that trait is integrity

becus he is a good friend stands by his morals and many other reasons

but most significantly integrity is dark blue which is the color he turns your soul to

another thing is that sans has two colors which means papyrus could have both blue and orange and yet people do only orange

and he is also commonly depicted with orange bones which he never used and probably cant use

thats enough of this topic

there is more that i wanted to talk about but editing the video was taking too much time and i needed to go do some other things

Chara is the one who resets a true pacifist run||theory

just want to put it out there, i am not a “Chara bad guy” believer, but i do have a more diffrent stance on them then most players || Im a undertale fanatic who has played the game wayyy to many times to not theorize about certain things that have taken place in the game or things hinted at. Mostly every theory possible for undertale though that actually makes sense has already been done though, so, something struck me when i was once again like usual resetting a pacifist timeline to play the game all over again to try and get another fun value. This scene particularly where you boot up the game and flowey trys to get you to not reset at the very end of it.

At first, brushed it off. Anybody who has watched the “Who is the true Villain of undertale” video on the stance of where chara is in terms of morals will remember it being seen as Flowey saying just a goodbye to Chara but the entire other part of the entire conversation was suppost to be for.. us ?? The player? Which would be such a curve ball to throw and a change of what the entire thing was hinting. for him to do a full 180 and immediately change who hes talking to wouldnt make sense. . What would make more sense is if he truely was talking to Chara through out the entire conversation, it wouldnt stand out so much if he called the person chara through out that entire conversation. It was meant to stand out by him saying it at the very end, when he didnt need to say the chara part at the end at all if he really was referring to us the ‘player!  Theres more evidence then usually seen of him really talking to chara and not the ‘player’ during the whole thing, anybody who has seen the winter clock anniversary will see him acting rude and still very much so murdery in how he talks towards Frisk, (now he does seem to have those little moments though dont get me wrong! He defiently had improved)  And he right here, is still a flower so wouldnt he be acting rude again if he does later on? Well if he is talking to Chara his best friend, he wouldnt talk rudely to them, he doesnt talk rudely to who he believes to be Chara at the genocide route at Asgores castle. now about the whole “player” theory regarding Undertale, Undertale is a game with very obvious hints and lores that do really fit nicely together as if it were a puzzle, and if us the player truely was canon to the game there would be alot more hints, the only hint at all is when flowey during the exact same conversation about not resetting the world and referring to Chara at the end is before he saids Chara’s name, he always saids “You”,  Deltarune is a game where the player really does have many more hints and things along those lines to be theorized about! And they fit very nicely and are alot more clues, so why in Undertale is there really only one thing hinting at it? And you can even brush it off as it NOT hinting at us and is once again hinting at Chara! Hes showing that he knows Chara really is there, his best friend Theres alot more hints regarding it being chara aswell, a character in the Genocide Route who gives us the option to erase or to not, Flowey mentions the word “Erase” a good amount when referring to resetting the world

please know not all of these are in order ) Put in the context of Chara being a character who is associated with erasing the timeline, it connects nicely to think this is another hint at it being Chara who he is talking to. Its not frisk 

Flowey out right saids it.  The other part of it being Chara who is the one who truely does Reset or Erase the timeline even in pacifist run makes sense thanks to once again the Genocide route, once you complete it and reset. Chara ruins any pacifist ending attempted. Showing they DO remember the resets, they remember what Frisk (i shall not be referring to player as the one lore wise who does the genocide, specially sense in narration, Frisk is narrated to be showing violent tendencies like stepping roughly on Monster kid or showing no emotion during sans’s joke meaing they are infact the ones doing it,) They remember what frisk had done in the genocide route, despite it being erased or reset, a true reset. now why would it matter if it was a normal reset or true reest? well, Every time a true reset is done no deja vu of previous events remains, characters dont get deja vu of you until a normal reset is done once again and they have met you. Frisk shows no sign aswell of knowing the characters. If you kill toriel and reset afterwards Toriel will say “Wait.. why are you looking at me like that? As if you have seen a ghost? Do you know something i do not?” keep in mind, this was during a normal reset! Not a true reset, you have not finished the game. So frisk (who has determination) remembers what had happened. (and no this dialogue will not play again if you had killed toriel previously but did a true reset after finishing the true pacifst) But when a true reset is done Frisk shows no memory at all of any type of deja vu, no having killed toriel, no being bored at mettatons preformance, and no turning around before sans tells you to. But Chara remembers, Chara remembers even true resets as previously mentioned when Frisk had done the genocide route and had then if picked done pacifist and the ending is ruined because of Chara not letting them get away with it. The reason its so important for Chara to remember a true reset and Frisk to not is because of Flowey. Flowey is a character who has done genocide probably countless times before and has done what were probably true resets aswell afterwards, sense nobody has deja vu of him. This shows thats who ever is the one who does the TRUE reset (not a normal reset, as anybody with determination will remember them like flowey) will remember what had happened before in the other timeline but nobody else even if they have determination will Chara is awoken by Frisks determination as stated at the end of a genocide route, and after Frisk during a true pacifist run had left the underground, all that determination remain with chara.. And Chara who is still stuck in the underground with Flowey, is now the most determind being in the underground, as Frisk is up on the surface and Flowey’s determination doesnt compare to Frisks nor Charas at all. Chara is awoken by Frisks determination its safe to assume that Chara, being a determination soul themself before there death would latch onto the determination Frisk had not intended to wake them up with.They are the most detemind one in the underground, they are left with the power of true reset after Frisks leave. So, Chara is the one flowey is talking to at the end of the pacifist run and is NOT the player who isnt canon to the undertale lore. Frisk does not remember timelines after a true reset is done but Chara does. But leads one question left WHY does Chara do a true reset sense its so hinted at now that its them who does it at the true pacifist run??  Honestly this is where the interpretations truely come in with how you view Chara as a whole, did they do it to try and get a better run where they really can save Asriel? Did they just pull a us move and get curious about what other stuff could happen? Or even eviler motives??  Thats really something i cant figure out as Chara is such a vague character. This theory which i do believe to be correct, really does open a good amount of theorys, aus, and lots of stuff!  I havent seen this thoery done so getting it spread around would be very much appreciated with reblogs! If the accusation of Haru broke the airplane model was a merely triggered, that's mean, Sanzu got his scars not because of that. It seems like, Mikey's dark impulse is controlled by someone else. Not to mention, that Sanzu got excited to see the " other Mikey ", it seems like Sanzu had something to do with "the other Mikey ", as if Mikey's dark impulse is his comfort and the satisfication of him getting on that.

And what Sanzu meant by karma (destiny) ? Those word seems like delivered directly to Mikey's dark impulse. Cant wait for the flashback of Sanzu's scars.

Do you get deja vu ? I did understand how's Mikey felt when he heard people cheer Toman. He is the founder and ex-captain of Toman, listen to your ex-subordinate cheering really triggered him. Mikey disband Toman for everyone good sake, he lost his family and friends because of he being the Invicible Mikey Toman, of course, a lot of gang try to sabotage him. It felt like, you got betrayed by your own past. Mikey really wanted to forget about Toman because those brought his trauma upfront. That's how the dark impulse activate. I dont blame him, he got a lot of burden and trauma, even though he in wrong side, but just like he said "the other me wouldnt know what is wrong and right ".

I have seen no one pay attention to the Kisaki's real plan. Before these, we might thinking of Mikey fallen into the darkness because of his family and friends gone, but remember when Mikey still held his head high ? He might have to be strong in front of anyone but surely he will broken down once everyone out of his sight. In which, every Kisaki's plans doesnt responsible of Mikey fallen into the darkness, Kisaki only wanted Mikey to make him to the top with Toman's name. I would says, Mikey doesnt mind to let Kisaki did whatever he wanted, because in every timeline, doesnt matter, his friends stay alive or not, he will be always in the darkness in the future, which means, someone silently dragging Mikey into that darkness. I would says Sanzu is the one that responsible for Mikey in the darkness, as he never be seen in any timeline, even though there are the meeting of Toman's executive( TokRev anime Ep 24) but Sanzu never been spotted. Isnt he should be there?

Sanzu sneaking behind Kisaki's plans, he and Kisaki both have different goals, Sanzu wanted to be Mikey's right hand man and Kisaki wanted to be on the top with Mikey's power. Kisaki plan is really good idea for Sanzu manipulate Mikey into something that no one care about him something like, everyone just wanted use Mikey for his power.

The blank spot. Takemichi seems like he forgotten everything about his past in og timeline. Now, to think of that, after he got time leapt, the disadvantages of time leaping, certain of his memories were being erased. Blank spot always be there whenever Toman Founder gathered, it doesnt make sense, i know but to think that Takemichi and the others probably forgotten the memories in order to save Mikey ( who's got his karma) , might highly have the possibilities of Takemichi one of Toman founder.

And here :

The thing was, Takemichi got into Toman not because he really wanted to but, to save Toman, in order to save Mikey. Because the cause death of Hina was definitely was Kisaki's cruelty, so, there should be no point of Takemichi stay in the past after Kisaki die but then, Takemichi realized that the one he should save was Mikey, because the bond between them stronger as if they connected to one another.

Takemichi says, that he left his friends behind after he graduated from middle school, causes by he got bullied. Isnt it weird that if Takemichi never been encoutered with deliquents at least, once ? Even he doubt why he turn into that kind of lifestyle in original future, because he left his friends and purse to the other path, i just wanna says, memories could be false sometimes, it was mind trick.

Takemichi seems to love Toman so much as if, he born to be in Toman, not exactly, but as if he's part of Toman Founder.

Why did Takemichi left Toman after he became 1st Division Captain? Did he turn to the real Takemichi in past after he time leaping to the future? I do realized one thing, Takemichi either become the cruel Toman executive or not being related to Toman at all in the future, whereas he was part of Toman in the future. So, why did Takemichi left Toman ?

Im pretty sure that Takemichi have something to do with him being a deliquent in the past before he time leapt, even thougj he claimed that he left his oldself in the past, choose different path.

And how, Mikey knew the brawl happened between Kiyomasa amd Takemichi at the time ? That's why i assume Mikey and Takemichi have a special deep connection going around between them. It feels like, Takemichi in mission to save Mikey, and that have been planned by the real mastermind behind all of these.

Takemichi could be the erased Toman Founder as the diadvantege him time leaping. That's why the spirit of Takemichi as Toman, really stronger than anyone.

Everyone was thinking about Toman being fucked up in the future but Takemichi was always thinking about Mikey. The unparallel of Takemichi's perspective with others. He thought they wanted to screw up Mikey by killing his family and friends, but they just wanted Toman. We can see everything in manila Mikey chapter, where Mikey looks totally find ( actually, even though in deep isnide he must be sad ) but not as bad as he in Bonten. Manila Mikey kills everyone include his friends to find Takemichi but still in good condition, while Kisaki and Izana took over Toman, and here, both Kisaki and Izana doesnt have any intention to bring Mikey to the darkness, MEANWHILE Mikey in Bonten totally screw up, while he still have all his friends living their good life, and isnt Mikey should be happy as he promised that his friends gonna live a good life in future ?

But then, why only Mikey live that way ? This explained everything the real reason behind Mikey fall into the darkness.

Kisaki wanted Toman breed to the darkness to make Toman on top but not Mikey. He might be manipulated Mikey in order to bring Toman into the top. But remember, Mikey not easily got tricked by Kisaki's manipulation, he knew what's Kisaki up to.

Akkum once said, " When Mikey changed, Toman changed ". So, Takemichi have to save Mikey, so that Toman save and then, Hina save. But in reality, the death of Hina never been related to Toman, but only Kisaki.

So, which part make Mikey really fall into the darkness ?

He seems totally fine when his family and baji gone, even though he felt sad inside. But again, Mikey always be in the darkness in every timeline, either with Kisaki or Izana death.

But Mikey in other timeline were nothing compare in he's in Bonten. The one that really wanted to become Mikey's right hand was finally showed up.

Everything was related to 2nd time leaper.

Kisaki surely knew something about the time leaping ad also, Sanzu seems know about the existence time leaper. At this point, Sanzu knew who's the other time leaper( either him or someone else ), after he discovered Takemichi leaping the time, so , to be claer he knew there are 2 people leaping the time.

Not gonna lie, Sanzu seems so desperate to not save Mikeu from the darkness, and also, about something related to Mikey's dark impulse, as if he wanted the other Mikey awaken.

Still waiting a development of Hanma suprised everyone with his shinigami ability.

Could you please write some Headcanons for how Link, Zelda, Sidon and Revali (Age of Calamity timeline for Sidon btw) would react to a young woman who has a very strong connection to the Spirits being sent to teach Zelda how to unlock her power? Like it's a young woman, around 18 years old, who has a natural ability to communicate with all manner of Spirits, maybe even is part Spirit in some way, so she gets appointed by the King of Hyrule to teach Zelda how to do the same? Let's set the scene, yeah?

You were one of the descendants of Hylia from centuries past, now a ghost in the afterlife as part of the universe itself.

Naturally, you would be surprised when you became sentient once more and blinked open your eyes in the middle of Hyrule Field. In your head rang a soothing voice that you both heard in your head and felt in your bones. In an instant, you knew it was Hylia communicating with your physical form again after years of dormant sleep.

The voice instructed that you were to aid Zelda in her studies of connecting to her powers. Hylia could not intervene directly with Zelda, of course, but the most the Goddess could do was send someone in her place. And that was you: a descendant of Hylia's own bloodline resurrected from the dead come to help the princess in her efforts. Easy enough, right?

Convincing the King and his guards of the situation was difficult, let alone trying to get him to allow you to assist his precious daughter with her practice. The only proof that you had of any story that you told were the markings on your hands and chest.

Three distinct triangles etched themselves on your body: one on the back of each hand and the third on your chest. Your powers had long since been passed on to the next descendant of Hylia, but you were still full of the knowledge of how to use Hylia's gift and how to communicate with the spirits.

Link

Link was wary of you at first, being the princess's appointed knight and all, but he soon figured that you weren't as much of a threat as he initially thought

You were kind and excited to meet someone else who also held Hylia's gift (albeit not necessarily awakened, but still) and Link knew that Zelda would be safe in your hands

While going on spiritual treks with Zelda and Link, you almost always made the meals because both Zelda and Link can't really cook lmao

Coming from an entirely different era, you had a big book of recipes in your head that you brought into reality with every meal you made, and Link definitely wasn't complaining

He appreciated your wide breadth of knowledge of different foods, plants, and wildlife that you might encounter on your travels

It made planning protective measures for the princess all the easier

Sometimes the ventures to connect to Hylia didn't bear any fruit (and that's okay because the gift takes plenty of patience!) and the mood could become solemn quickly

But you were always determined to lift the mood and lighten everyone's attitude, and it always worked!

You would excitedly ramble off stories about where you grew up or what you liked to do on your own travels back in the day, and it would always make Link feel warm that you had such fond memories you were willing to share with him

When Zelda needed time to herself to try to connect to the spirits and Hylia, you and Link would hang around each other and bond

Link would listen attentively as you talked about the cultural and time differences between your world and this one, sharing sympathy when you expressed nostalgia over your time lost

But you would quickly turn it around to the positives, which is what Link thought was a wonderful quality that you had

If you ever got caught off guard while on ventures by the Yiga Clan or rogue animals, Link would fight just as hard as he would in larger battles to keep you safe

Over the time you spent together, Link grew very fond of you and always was at your side if he wasn't immediately attending to the princess

Once your guidance and knowledge finally broke through to Zelda and her power awakened, Link was so proud of you for fulfilling your duty

He was worried that you would disappear from his life once you completed Hylia's task, but you connected to the spirits after the fact and bargained with them

At the end of it all, you were able to live your life through again with Link by your side :)

Zelda

Goddess was Zelda relieved when she found out that she would be having a guide to help her unlock her powers

Upon meeting you, she was absolutely floored with your kindness and willingness to help her with her problems

You were a wonderful mentor to Zelda, teaching her things about the different spirits and how to harness the power that she never would have dreamed of researching on her own

And wow there was a lot of information HAHA

Zelda was also transfixed with the fact that you came from another lifetime, and you were more than happy to tell her all about your life before this one

She would also take very detailed notes about everything you said, enamored with the way you spoke and how excited you got about things you loved

Quiet study time in Zelda's room would often turn into challenges of you trying to make her laugh with small tidbits of stupid stunts you would pull

Of course Zelda couldn't hold back a smile when you were around, so the challenges would fall short but with you falling into fits of laughter

You always brightened Zelda's mood whenever she was down about a failed connection attempt, urging her to try more and be patient with herself

Zelda was thankful to Hylia for sending you because honestly she wouldn't know what to do without someone that was as kind and generous as you were with spreading knowledge about your gifts

And when they finally awakened, Zelda couldn't be more happy!

Hyrule was now safe with Zelda's power awakened and Ganon on the edge of being sealed away

She pleaded that you find a way to stay in her time and teach her more about the spirits and Hylia herself

Your heart warmed at the thought that someone wanted you to stay, and it warmed even more at the fact that someone loved you enough to want to keep you forever :)

Sidon

Sidon met you when he was summoned with the other Champion successors

You were the first to greet him and explain what had happened with the time jumping and all that, and you helped to put his nerves at ease

His own excitable and boisterous personality bounced off of your own energy and buzz!

Fighting side by side with you, Sidon admired how you always had a strategy and were looking out for Zelda as if she was your own sister

He was surprised upon learning your story: never had he known that Hylia had the power like that to bring someone back to help those in the present

Sidon tried his best to stay by your side whenever he could, wanting to keep your blind spots covered just in case

In your time, you had known the Zora and actually knew King Dorephan when he was a young little guppy, and your stories of Dorephan never failed to make Sidon laugh

Sidon in turn shared his own tales of the evolved Zora Domain, and you found his storytelling absolutely captivating

Sidon felt a pull to you like he had to no one else before, and he nurtured that pull with his own heart

He made sure you had enough supplies, checked in on you immediately when you came back from a far off mission

Just an all around softie I think! Sidon has always been caring like that :)

When it was time for him to go back, you discovered a way that you could jump with him back to his own time

After all, your mission with Zelda from Hylia was over. Why shouldn't you be able to live your life through again?

You jumped back with Sidon to a world vastly different than the one you had just been in, and even more different than the one you were born into

But with Sidon, it always felt like home!

Revali

Revali didn't want to be impressed, but he was Definitely Impressed

Your composure about the whole situation was amazing, and you handled all the questions everyone had with grace

And your kindness was overwhelming (in a good way) with the fact that you opened your mind to such possibilities of even being resurrected like that

Revali admired you through and through

He would be incessantly curious about what the afterlife was like, how the spirits communicated with you, what Hylia was like

You, of course, couldn't accurately answer most questions because, well, you couldn't remember, but you appreciated his desire to learn

You loved the way that he fought: with purpose and intent. There was little to no hesitation with Revali, he always had a plan

When you would go to treks with Zelda and Link to try to summon Zelda's power, Revali would make comments here and there insisting that he tag along just in case

Poor Rito really just wanted to spend more time with you, that's all!

If he did tag along, it would be to Lanayru with his knowledge of the cold weather

He would rattle off safety facts of mountain weather and gear you would need, and you would be happy to listen as long as he was talking to you

Revali would also love to hear about your old life, and since you could go on for hours about it all, he would sit and absorb everything that came out of your mouth

He was smitten in a matter of weeks!

He could see the care and sympathy you had for Zelda as she struggled and triumphed in her process of opening her powers, and he appreciated that you could care so much for someone like that

Revali subconsciously protected you even if there was a leaf that fell in the way of your path, as he was always on alert in case someone caught you off guard

As your time came to a close and Zelda awakened her powers, Revali demanded that you stay (with love, of course)

And stay you did, making a bargain with the spirits and living the rest of your second life in the company of the Rito warrior :)

Chara, the fourth Blook cousin:

A crack theory that accidentally become way more serious than it should have because it somehow, despite my best efforts, ended up making sense

Brought to you by my idiot conspiracy brain (affectionate) and by encouragement from my Tumblr followers

Under the cut for the sake of your dashes and sanity

Ok here we go my very elaborate accidental theory, because in order to answer the complex questions simply you must first make simple things more complex or something

First, you need to know that Chara became a Blook cousin by adoption.

All of the Blooks are adopted.

Ghosts are not born into families, they make their own.

Got it? Great, because we’re about to start running

so first, im gonna make surprisingly uncommon claim in this fandom, and I am going to say that undertale ghosts are all dead

I’m taking the tiny details we know about ghosts and sprinting with them to new places

Ghosts also do not have souls I decided

Undertale souls do not work the same as souls in traditional mythology

So every ghost is soulless Unless and Until they become corporeal

Evidence: Monster souls cant exist without bodies, and ghosts are monsters, therefore ghosts cannot have souls without bodies

Further evidence: Asriel doesnt steal blooky’s soul, blooky is unkillable, we have no concrete evidence that blooky has a soul

What about mettaton? He only has a soul after he has completely committed to being corporeal and to a specific body.

Also maddy and mettaton are both only killable while corporeal

Im also connecting the dots we have about souls in a new creative way so let me live for a second

Additionally, i am going to claim that there are a lot more ghosts than just the blooks, some evidence given below

Theres like actual scientific knowlege of ghosts in the undertale verse which seems unlikely if theres literally only three or four

The underground is so much bigger than you think, theres that giant forest in snowdin, a large town in the ruins, the huge city of new home, who knows how much space in the large open areas of waterfall etc. Its really really big okay

Also based off evidence of blooky, we can conclude that ghosts can turn invisible whenever they want to and/or haunt objects to hide

So I personally think that ghosts are, generally speaking, extremely reclusive

And the blooks are just a special exception, a beautiful family, amazing for them

So anyway im going with typical ghost lore for now, for the sake of ease, so im gonna say ghosts generally come from monsters who are particularly restless or unsatisfied when they die

HOWEVER i dont think they remember being monsters or anything before being a ghost. They just kinda fizzle into existance with a fully formed personality and immortality while being unkillable and feeling vaguely uneasy

ALSO i personally think that chara was a ghost for a long time before they became a blook by adoption

Based on game lore, i think ghosts can possess any inanimate object and just kinda wear it? But it takes a lot of strong emotion to become corporeal

And chara is the super weird exception because they were a human not a monster.

They dont have a soul (i headcanon that their soul got destroyed when asriel died)

And they KNOW this, which is a huge part of why they kinda just... give up

Because they lost their ability to fulfill prophecy

Also, without a soul, they lost their ability to reset, so for the first time since falling underground, theyre subject to the relentless march of time

But theyre still weirdly strong and powerful and more emotional

ALSO they DO still remember being a human but they catch on pretty quickly that other ghosts dont have memories and because chara is stupid they just lie to fit in

Theyre too tired to explain themself, they just want to be alone and feel awful

Now back to ghost lore

Emotions are a lot harder for ghosts??? I decided

And they dont know why,, they tend to blame it on the soul thing

But realistically its actually more of the immortality thing making actions not have consequences and/or or not having a body so they cant have a sense of touch or have physical effects of emotion

They all know that ghosts just tend to be way more floaty and bored and numb

And thats part of why the blooks are so special

Maddy’s rage and Mettaton’s yearning and Napstablook’s misery are like... not great all of the time...

but theyre also way way more emotion than most ghosts have,,, they are just a family supporting each other, being as functional as they can,, just an emo(tional) ghost family

most ghosts barely do anything except like stare at walls but the blooks have their snail farm and that helps them have purpose and it is good

And they hold each other accountable and it is nice

So anyway chara just chills and is in a depression coma for a few decades before the blooks find them and are like “our child/baby cousin”

and they raise them for a cool minute

They are all very protective of the new baby emo blook

And chara doesnt get therapy but at the very least they once again have a family, and they decide they want to try to become corporeal eventually just like mtt and maddy

So anyway chara starts hanging out in the ruins a lot more and they finally tell the blooks theyre leaving to go become corporeal in the ruins

This is actually because they are trying to hang out with toriel

because they miss their mom ;;

but chara’s not gonna admit that to anyone, especially not to themself

And because theyre still repressing their emotions constantly and pretending to be fine, they cant become corporeal

And they hang out in the ruins for a long time because they feel guilty lying to everyone about everything

They still feel like its their fault that all the monsters are stuck underground, because they were SUPPOSED to save everyone and they COULDNT and it HURTS

But again, they are doing too much repression to use this guilt to become corporeal,

so instead they just kinda hide and watch toriel from a distance and cry

Blooky visits them the most, thats why blooky is chilling in the ruins so much at the start of the game

Theyre just there to visit their shy baby cousin ;;

Ofc they wont tell frisk about this because chara wants space and privacy and blooky respects that

but maddy and mtt also visit them a lot

Oh also when mtt and maddy start dissapearing, blookys mental health plummets as their family and support system starts to dissolve

Blooky was actually doing extremely well (for a ghost) for a long time, i headcanon,

but theyre doing the worst theyve been in a long long time during the game, because of family issues

So anyway, chara dissapears when frisk shows up, and maddy assumes this is becaude frisk hurt their fragile feelings

Maddy spends hours desperately searching the ruins for chara and cant find them and assumes that they had their heart crushed and went to hide and disappear in a depression coma for another few decades, and thats part of why maddy is so furious with frisk

Like,, to be clear, maddy is still jumping to conclusions and throwing blame around with no proof, but also, its a logical conclusion to come to

And mettaton has already disappeared too and been gone for a while, too, by this point, so it hurts even worse

But anyway, what actually happened to chara is that;

Because chara is a human ghost, not a monster ghost, normal ghost rules dont apply to them

And they can possess living things too they find out

Maybe they knew it a long time ago, maybe its a new discovery, but for whatever reason they end up possessing frisk and theyre like “what the heck”

And frisk still has most of the control

But now chara is like,,, “this is my chance, im a human again, gotta save the world for real,,,”

and they cant explain this to anyone without revealing their past

so they just chill in frisk’s mind while being super crypic and trying to figure out how it works

Pacifist route, this is pretty much exactly what happens

They manage to help frisk save the day

And in my headcanon, the no mercy route is started by frisk who is scared when faced by monsters attacking them

And then chara, who was aready hiding in a semidepression coma for a while, immediately transitions to a panicked “gotta protect this body, gotta protect my chance to be human, i died and threw away my chance to save everyone the first time, i CANNOT lose this chance again”

And so the combination of both frisk and chara is the genocide run

Because frisk kills in self defense, and whenever frisk hesitates, chara jumps in

Also theres leftover feelings from the whole asriel incident

Because again, ghosts come from monsters who died unsatisfied

And chara’s main source of unsatisfaction is how they were trying to get asriel to kill people before he died and then he didnt

So thats a strong strong feeling ruling them

So anyway by the time they both realize how bad its become they figure its too late and also the amount of LOVE has made them numb

And thats when chara who, despite everything, still has idiot hero complex and thinks they need to save the world

So, while panicking, they step in at the very end, and erase the timeline and delete everything

And also to clarify

They DONT HAVE this power at any other point in the game

Because, guess why

They become corporeal

Just like maddy, the no mercy route is the only thing that gives them strong enough emotion to spontaneously become corporeal

So they become corporeal and as soon as they have a soul again and can reset again, they just erase everything

Ok back to fluff

Post pacifist route, they are still a non corporeal ghost

They can still float around and look just like the other blooks

And it takes them a while to open up about things, but they do end up moving back in with blooky so that blooky isnt completely alone

And also they do way better with a family

Also they can float through the mountain and talk to flowey down below and bring him news

And now that they know about him, they can bond with him and explain that they dont have a soul either but that doesnt mean theyre worthless

Oh ALSO

The other dead humans dont have ghosts

BECAUSE

ghosts only come from restless dead MONSTERS

and chara is the weird special exception

Because they were a monster when they died

They became a ghost and asriel didnt because they were way more restless and stressed than asriel was when both of them died

Like sure, asriel felt awful, but chara was the one who was way more like “this is my fault, i CANT die now, the world NEEDS me”

So anyway

charablook the emo tween ghost and asriel flowey the eldrich goat daisy are siblings once more and they hang out and eventually they are okay and have a family again

in regards to obito i wouldn't necessarily call the problem inconsistency in regards to his actual writing. shonen is by its nature a seat of your pants industry, where even the best writing is subject to some improvisation, even one piece. and in obitos case there is a consistent enough through line from idealist to megalomaniac to realizing his own hubris that it makes sense retroactively. the problem i would more so say is that no character reacts the way they probably actually should- /1

I'm actually not generally as nit-picky as I probably come off in the blog. In case anyone doesn't know already I'm a big fan of Yumichika and Ikkaku from Bleach (though I take no responsibility for this love since I don't know why is happened) and like most things at the end of Bleach there is a dropped thread in their character arcs that I mean you can see the throughline there, but it's not explained and given Kubo's writing it just comes off as sloppy. I'm not complaining though, I just write endless fanfiction about it.

Or like I'm a fan of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure and like most fans I'm reticent to say anything bad about Araki and if I have any mild complaints they aren't really about the writing despite the fact that it has a few obvious flaws.

So normally I get just getting the basic idea and letting it be, but I hate Obito so much and find his character arc so egregious (including some of the reasons discussed in this ask) that I'm being way harsher than I need to be. And I think Obito deserves it because I don't think people realize how much he sucks.

Interesting that you bring up Vegeta because a lot of things I complain about in shounen my brother will point out are problems that Dragon Ball started. It's funny how One Piece seems the only series that is taking the template Dragon Ball started and improving it instead of falling into its already existent pitfalls like all the other 90s and 00s shounen.

however i also wanna say that i am at least glad they touched on the different views of people being stuck in the "worse" timeline? Junpei being glad to have Quark despite everything while Clover and Alice have to deal with leaving behind half a century along with their friends and family. even tho they just kinda went jk lol at that part immediately afterwards???????? but whatever i guess

the characters in general were pretty fun tbh? not quite as real-feeling as 999 but still enough to be enjoyable. it was nice seeing Junpei reference a bunch of stuff from 999 and retain some pieces of himself all these years later, especially when he quoted Light ("fake, a replica, not the real thing...") its horrifying to think abt all hes been thru at this point tho ,,, Clover seemed a lot more outgoing than before but a year can change u so i cant say much abt that, it was cool to see her again regardless. Alice is an interesting one and i liked her even if she was kind of frustrating to go against in the AB games lmao. Luna has lowkey been one of my favorites thru the whole thing but i had a hard time fully trusting her for so long bc of how suspiciously innocent she was lol which wasnt entirely baseless either but yknow. Dio is admittedly funny and ridiculously good at acting like hes a normal person its actually scary. also whered he hide the bombs before planting them bc they didnt seem That small. anyway uhh Quark is a funny little guy and its nice that he straight up doesnt die (usually?? i cant remember if theres a route where he does. other than the bombs) and!!! i actually really enjoyed Kyle. no idea why. wish he didnt abandon me so many times but it fuckin be like that i guess. accidental revenge for absent fatherism. and.. Sigma. when u said u do not like him i think im with u now. not necessarily strong feelings but. yeah. but PHI.. god i wish they actually said where she came from shes just HERE and they never fuckin elaborated man who is she. she is so cool tho i love when she goes on her tangents abt stuff <3

Under the readmore is aaaaaaaaall color god observations and musings based on them, because I am studying to become the world's Premiere Chromatheologian and RGB Understander so under the cut is pretty much Oops! All Spoilers! up to the most recent episode of season 3.

Apparently Universal Color God Attributes:

Damage to their domain hurts them, but fixing the issue, or lashing out by using their powers destructively, can help them to repair the damage.

If they sustain enough damage, it can temporarily paralyze them and send them into a strengthened but 'exposed' state (chartreuse's spirit activation in the last fight of 19) and further damage after that will activate a failsafe, which is unique by domain but seemingly designed to give them the chance to balance things, but can get… very out of hand or backfire depending on circumstances. (see: cobalt’s failsafe sending mark's universe into a never-ending apocalyptic war because word of the cure for death became too widespread for the killing urge failsafe to affectively balance anything because every side could simply revive their fallen.)

Chartreuse's failsafe is something of a stopped time bubble quarantine where processes that require the passing of time cannot complete, allowing her the time to wear down the offending party to beat them to death or plan around finishing them.

Cobalt's is inciting war, the casualties serving to balance the scale. I'm not sure we know Crimson's yet- he's never taken enough direct damage without doing damage to compensate in order to trigger it, although i dont remember season one well enough to recall if any of the universe stuff in it tracks with the pattern bc season one is a bit fucky

Connected in a fashion that allows them to simply Sense the overall status of the others to some extent, although they don't know Why theyre in the state theyre in without asking (chartreuse [and by extension, folk, presumably on her information] confronting crimson via crimsonaut for pretending to be dead, Cobalt confronting both his siblings about how they are handling their duties improperly but not knowing about Folk. He knew about the constants deaths because hes a death god, duh, but he didnt use their names like crimson did, possibly implying they're erased upon death so thoroughly that only crimson and the constants can really recall a shattered constants' existence, not even the other guardians.)

Abilities of the guardians can be replicated by mortals through three apparent methods- through machines (dimensional bus, the time machine, presumably J0hn's part in Sephiroth's resurrection,) simply through advanced enough individual skill (Home MD curing death, potentially Dantoinette's universe portal travel, maybe Genwun's sped up time bubble that evolved them into Genfour? although that could very well have just been an illusion and theyre just like, a fuckin theater kid that was doing pretend character development for the Bit or something given GenFive turned out to be a zoroark) or through stealing some of the power of the relevant god (Dr. Order stealing Chartreuse's power, Dani maybe having stolen some of Crimson's when she beat his ass. Dani's one woman universal travel is like, wicked ambiguous)

Cobalt:

Can seemingly perceive or act through any living material. (The Tree. Cobalt instructed Larry to slap his hand on that tree, that shit glowed and he had a new deal tattoo without Cobalt ever having been physically present)

Can influence the resurrected by giving them a killing urge. Represented by an aberrant brainwave and a ringing in the undead's heads. This doesnt appear to be direct control- as the Grunk could clearly restrain himself from killing people that genuinely didn't deserve it (like nightly and cha cha, who WERE grunk event targets but not fatally so. Nagito was a crimson thing so it really doesn't count here. God poor grunk his life really is just a constant plaything in the hands of the gods huh) and Sephiroth very much had personal motivation to want to kill Folk. failsafe activates this ability on the scale of war.

Deals. The extent of what Cobalt can do with these is unclear but Iggy's god powers were taken from him as his part in the deal so what he can take isn't limited to physical things or things obviously related to his domain.

Weaknesses:

Deals. While this ability is impressive his preference for making deals for those that offend against his domain is potentially very exploitable- Larry's knowledge of the cure for death is, if word of it were to ever get out beyond Larry, wildly dangerous for this dimension, so technically the safest thing for the iron-fisted cobalt to do would be to nip the problem in the bud and get rid of him. But, fascinatingly, that wasn't even put on the table, the first thing Cobalt does is threaten J0hn, prompting Larry to make a deal. While Cobalt enforces death, he also doesn't like unnecessary death, and Larry demonstrably knows how to keep a secret for the good of the world even at great cost to himself and Cobalt is aware of this- easily clarifying to Larry the aberrant thing endangering the universe wasn't his timeloop business. So while he's clearly not letting his resurrection fuckery go unpunished, he's being pretty merciful when he doesn't have to be and from a strictly, brutally pragmatic perspective probably shouldn't be.

His control over the undead manifests as a ringing and an aberrant brainwave trackable by J0hn's equipment, and could probably therefore be accounted for and circumvented? J0hn has, wisely, largely sworn off fucking with people's brains after the sephiroth fiasco went So Wrong, So Very Wrong, Oh God Oh Fuck Someone Cool Almost Died, but if he hadn't, and if J0hn let his dislike for authority and keeping Larry safe outweigh reason like he let safety, spite and comedic value outweigh good ethical sense when reprogramming sephiroth, in theory Mr. 'hacked a time machine for breakfast?' could. y'know. probably do it. what is a god's authority to an anarchist, what better to challenge life and death than the cold and eternal machine, you get the point its a fun scenario

Chartreuse's:

Time Clones: taps into parallel timelines to retrieve alternate versions of herself to utilize.

Time Travel: what it says on the tin. Travel to the past creates painful splits in the prime timeline, but through careful action and traveling back into the past, these can be weaved into a time loop. A split from the timeline is a wound, and a successful timeloop is the surgical scar it can become with attentive care, to use a medical metaphor. Carefully closed and healing. Keeping Folk here is essentially akin to chartreuse pulling out her stitches on the initial incision.

Time Stopping: creates a space wherein things that take time to complete cannot complete, where things can move, but everything within is in a perfect unchanging stasis until the bubble drops. This is the form her failsafe takes.

Timeline Creation: can create timelines from scratch.

Can fuse alternate timeline versions of the same individual to allow them to coexist. (Ryan's confirmed in the discord that Dantoinette experienced both failures in 20, because Chartreuse fused the two instances of her to save the post-raid instance from fading. Could... theoretically do this to Folk and save herself the pain, but while Folk and Therapuppy are the same person, there's seven years and untold amounts of difference deriving from the time and circumstance between them and the inherent cognitive dissonances that would result from attempting that would be wicked fucked up to inflict, and that's assuming there isn't some reason that it wouldn't be possible anyway. while the two Danis had like. A day or so's difference between them, so she could be safely fused with the only dissonant thing being that she remembers both being too slow to prevent order's time escape and beginning to dissipate post-raid, AND losing that fight to her pre-raid. RIP Dani, that perfectionism must be kicking her ass)

Weaknesses:

Unwilling to use her powers destructively in her pursuit of domain repair and thereby much easier to damage to the point of paralyzing her, making her particularly vulnerable to Power Theft

Morally Optimistic. At one point in 19, she briefly justifies Crimson's shitty evil actions to herself after experiencing for herself how Wack the kerfuffleverse is firsthand, ("and all he did was kill a couple people!" Chartreuse. Honey.) and when she fights Crimsonaut she seems to actually believe for a second that he's actually worried about her when Crimson asks if she's okay after he beats her. Additionally, as D+, she concerns herself with trying to understand doctor order's motive, and after Larry defeats Order, he makes a point of confirming she feels no remorse before making his request for what Chartreuse does with her, and appeals to the idea of letting Order fulfill her desire to be a god in a way which isn't a problem for anyone and Chartreuse is more than happy to oblige under these conditions after what Larry's done for everybody. Then immediately threatens to evaporate him for playfully teasing her about having a crush on folk. Fucked up a little bit

Crimson's:

Universe Shifting: Travel between universes.

Universe Correction: appears to replace an aberrant individual with the 'correct' version of themselves for that universe, presumably sending them back to their own. (Mario from super mario was universe corrected, but still seemingly exists in wario form as evidenced by smashup kerfuffle, and was simply temporarily replaced with his corrected universe counterpart. But like. The dimensional bus system is still active crimbo doing the Put That Thing Back Where It Came From Or So Help Me routine aint gonna work if they can come back with a shrug and bus fare. you're fighting the symptoms without treating the problem)

Universal Constants:

Three individuals per universe that serve as the pillars which stabilize said universe, created by absorbing red orbs Crimson creates. Becoming a constant grants power, but also makes the constant fragile, and death wipes them from the face of the multiverse, only crimson, those he's possessed and the other constants seemingly able to recall they ever existed, although some physical evidence is still left behind (Larry's record of Nagito's death, which is just as redacted as everything else relating to him but still is very much something Larry has. Kind of a Voidfish adventurezone type beat ironically enough? Taako really has seen all this shit before no wonder he peaced tf out)

To counterbalance the weaknesses the constants have, they have a sort of spidey-sense to alert them to danger, and an intrinsic bonded connection to their fellow constants, and additionally, Crimson apparently doesn't suffer any pain from the death of constants or the structural instability of a universe.

Possession: what it says on the tin! Seemingly can only be done with permission to living things- none of crimson's direct hosts seem to have entered that agreement unwillingly, Valentine lost a bet, Hamburger and Crimsonaut have been by all evidence intentional allies to Crimson- but electronics are fair game, as seen with The Guy's suit. Kinda curious how that rule applies to bitches that are half and half, like J0hn or the clonebot gang, as its unclear whether The Guy's suit was yoinkable without permission because it was mechanical or because its not sentient. could go either way but if it's the former that's potentially very frightening

Fusion: Two individuals from alternate universes can be fused into one shared body which can take on aspects of either depending on which is currently in control. (possibly allows someone who traveled into a given universe to become a fixed resident there without it being an issue for Crimson, whose job is to prevent interdimensional travel?) Monday Mark and possibly T.O.M. are our main examples.

Corruption:

Unpleasant As Hell and can even kill you instead of changing you if you cant handle it.

turns the corrupted individual into a twisted exaggeration of themself, allows them supernatural control over their shape, and makes them very difficult- if not impossible by traditional means- to kill, based on Garfield.

Subjects them to control by Crimson, but can be exorcised of this influence just like crimson's direct hosts can, although the supernatural changes to their physiology are seemingly permanent, judging from Shantae.

Notable Weaknesses:

Exorcism can be performed to free a possessed or corrupted individual of Crimson's influence. Its unclear how exorcism works/is learned in CPUK, but confirmed exorcists: dantoinette and yung papaya's snake dad, confirmed non-exorcists: folk

The universal constant orbs are physical objects so they are Very Stealable and they grant a power boost so theres literally an Incentive to beat his ass for anybody who wants to be strong and either doesnt know or doesn't care about the whole 'getting erased when you die' part

Crimson has lots of tools to create pawns, but all of them have drawbacks. Corruption could kill a potential pawn, possession generally seems to require permission, and he has no control over the constants' choices and actions

Manipulative bitch's highest stat is charisma and it shows. This motherfucker is selling snake oil. If he was mortal rather than a Whole Entire God he'd make an excellent ineffectual saturday morning cartoon supervillain and i think everyone, including him, would be happier for it, ngl

Something interesting ive realized that likely wasnt fully intentional, is that a lot of Dr. Order's creations, considering her motive, can kind of be sorted by a color god it appears to be a crude attempt at mimicking the abilities of. My Grunk is a poorly executed resurrection, the clonebot gang vs chartreuse's timeclones (this one deserves special mention because Chartreuse used this shitty attempted mimicry to her advantage with D+, very smart and ironic play, excellent job Treusy,) spirits are somewhat similar to universal constant orbs (orbs which can be absorbed to grant power, but which have physical repercussions- key differences being that spirits require activation and grow stronger while attuning to a user without being used, and having far less severe drawbacks, taking a heavy toll on the body, but only once they've worn off and without the risk of wiping yourself from the face of existence,) and she also augmented Perfect Spriteman and Larry, which kind of track as crude imitations of Crimson's corruption!

Garfield was an acerbic cat who loved food and hated mondays, now its an actively malicious ever-hungry amorphous entity whose only weakness is monday and whose only consistency in form is 'cat-like.'

Shantae was (to my extremely limited understanding of shantae,) a friendly heroic type who had to introduce herself often, and she became something akin to a biblically accurate angel that can *only* introduce herself.

The Grunks a tough but sweet and supportive single dad with stage presence and a tendency to fly off the handle when he or his family are slighted, and now he gets so hype in the audience when his son does well that he bursts into flames and ascends and we get random grunk events along with the associated murder charges when he gets mad and the target sucks enough that he doesn't hold himself back from killing them.

Perfect Spriteman and Larry fit the trend of exaggeration of already present traits- Spriteman fucking loves sprite and became something that only thinks about sprite, and Larry the Florida Man, characterized from minute one by unpredictability and who spent his first matches in the series pre-shapeshifter transformation staying alive keeping stocks for Shockingly Long even despite getting seventh, became literally physically random as well as developing the ability to regenerate, albeit with the ability to feel pain normally very much intact, unlike Garfield just... Soaking up damage like its nothing in his pursuit of Jon. The fact that Arbuckle legit defeated Garfield, even temporarily, is terrifyingly impressive honestly that dude is fucking built different for being so chronically bland

i dont think they're actually corrupted in any meaningful way we have to worry about, to be fully clear, Spriteman was cured with fucking antacids, i simply think they could be a fucked up attempt at making something that kind of seems like it from a functional standpoint, from the wannabe god doctor that brought us green clones whose only fundamental association with time was accelerated aging and who thought an actively rotting corpse thats just reanimated enough that it can throw hands was as good as curing death

Sans’s and Papyrus’s house

This post goes into detail on some of the weird stuff going on with the skeleton brothers’ house. This is long rambling speculation so I hope it won’t be too hard to follow

Initially, this was going to be a shorter post about a little theory I had regarding how they can afford their house. When talking to Undyne and Papyrus in Snowdin, Undyne questions how Sans is able to pay for their big home

I thought maybe this was just a joke regarding how Sans works a lot of jobs but thinking about it, that doesn’t make much sense. Why would it be a mystery how Sans can afford the house? Unless they’re trying to imply he’s making money in a shady way (is he an assassin or drug dealer or something???) I don’t see why it’d be a mystery. I guess, even with the multiple jobs he has, that income still shouldnt be enough to cover the costs of a nice big home. Sans himself makes a joke about how ‘well paying’ sentry jobs are

So...either Sans does make a lot of money in a secret way that he doesnt want even Papyrus to know about for some reason or...what if he doesnt have to pay rent on the house at all (tbh the idea of monsters having to pay rent in the first place is rather odd to me but thats neither here nor there)

Connecting this to other ideas I’ve had on this subject, I believe their house might be the one Sans and Papyrus lived in in their former home, the dimension/timeline/world they were originally from. The event that brought them into the world of Undertale also carried their entire house with them (a house I would assume was bought and paid for by ‘their’ Gaster but the specifics of that dont matter too much here)

The reason I started on that train of thought is because of this fascinating little room:

The basement contains several items: the photo album with pics of people Frisk doesn’t recognize, a badge, blueprints, and a big broken machine. The room’s music is It’s Raining Somewhere Else, the same track that plays during the hotel date where Sans briefly alludes to having a home he wants to go back to. What I wonder about this room is, how in the world did Sans bring a large machine and a photo album with him to Undertale? Those don’t seem like things you’d just have on hand in the event of being thrown into another dimension. 

But, if the whole house was dragged into Snowdin along with Sans and Papyrus, it would explain the issue quite neatly (I’m thinking either a mishap with that machine is what caused them to be torn from their home dimension, or perhaps UT Gaster’s accident had a rippling effect on alternate Gasters and his presumed family as well?)

It could also explain other aspects of their house. There’s a bunch of weird, sometimes physics-breaking things going on with the place. What if the space-time bending event that landed the skelebros + their house in another world also gave the house those strange properties? For example, if you complete a True Pacifist run then perform a true reset, the picture of Sans with you and your new friends will still be in the photo album - is the basement somehow protected from the effects of a reset that should otherwise erase all traces of the deleted timeline? 

There’s also the shrine to Annoying Dog within the kitchen sink (found in console versions) and Mad Mew Mew’s room in the Switch version. Now, it’s not unusual for a video game building to be much larger on the inside than it appears on the outside but the shrine and MMM’s room take it to pocket dimension territory. Why is there a shrine to Annoying Dog there in the first place? How did Mad Mew Mew even find that room??

Papyrus comments on how Sans’s room is “like another world” and others have noticed his door resembles the door in the Dark World that teleports the party to different locations

Fun fact: the door to Mystery Man’s room is also the same as the doors to the skelebros’ rooms (admittedly, Undyne has that door sprite for her room too...however I doubt it’s a coincidence that MM specifically has the same one the skeletons do, rather than one of the many other door assets that could have been used)

Speaking of these doors, when you enter Papyrus’s room, it plays the audio file mus_doorclose. When you open Mystery Man’s door, it plays the  mus_dooropen sound effect. Taken on its own this isn’t too interesting...however, afaik they’re one of only two instances in the entirety of Undertale of those sound effects being present.

The other time they play is at the very end, when Toriel opens Frisk’s door to give them pie - mus_dooropen plays when she opens the door, then mus_doorclose when she leaves. Maybe I’m overthinking it but it sure seems odd those audio files were specifically chosen for Papyrus’s room and Mystery Man’s room, and almost no where else. Plus it seems they’re supposed to be paired with each other...(note: in Deltarune, those sound fx show up a few more times, also paired together - when opening/closing the dimension door or when Kris enters the classroom; not sure if there are other instances in DR?)

Continuing on the subject of Papyrus, his room has another oddity and similarity to Mystery Man’s: they are always silent. The rooms don’t play music at all, not even Reunited which plays in almost every room (the only other exception is the Dog Room, which has its own theme that isn’t overridden). It’s difficult to speculate on the noticeable silence of Papyrus’s room, as we’re not given much to go off of. I think it could be related to how Papyrus suspiciously never brings up his past. What if he forgot his past, and perhaps ‘forgot’ his room theme?

Going on a tangent here about Papyrus’s music, sorry - it’s also interesting to me how Papyrus borrowed his themes (Nyeh Heh Heh! and Bonetrousle) from Deltarune, where Bonetrousle was originally going to be the battle encounter music - that was Toby’s plan way back when he first tried to make Deltarune, before he started on Undertale. Despite how interconnected Undertale’s soundtrack is, his leitmotifs show up nowhere else except in Bring it in, Guys! His theme and Sans’s themes aren’t referenced within each other’s, which is odd. There is a ‘missing link’ in Sans’s unused fight theme, which incorporates Papyrus’s music, but that obviously isn’t actually in the game proper. Is it possible his themes may be different in Deltarune? Will we finally get to hear his room’s missing music?

One last tidbit regarding their house and music from the Undertale wiki on Reunited: 

This track is slowed down when played in-game (compared to the file version), just like many other Undertale tracks, however, if the protagonist enters Papyrus's room and exits, enters Sans's room and exits, or if they restarted a save file during the epilogue of the True Pacifist Route, the track starts playing again, however at the same speed as the file.

As pointed out in this great post, the positioning of Sans’s and Papyrus’s rooms is odd. They shouldn’t fit properly in the house (but if they were flipped, would fit perfectly) and not only that but there’s a conspicuous space between their rooms. A space where Mystery Man’s room would fit nicely. And look at where their doors are oriented in their rooms - Papyrus’s to the very right, Sans’s to the very left, and MM’s smack dab in the middle. Coincidence?? I think...probably not?

If I’m right about the house being taken with the skeleton bros into the Undertale world, then if there was a room in the middle for Gaster, Sans presumably got rid of the door and covered it up with the painting.

if one of the 1d boys did i feel like that would hv a huge impact but the likeliness of that happening are slim to none so its interesting to think abt what the video actually means in terms of if they are in contact w/ her does that mean one of them is gonna speak out? already we know theres an insanely low chance of that for multiple different reasons (likely including but not limited to their contracts)

so does that mean that they are in contact with her in the way that they are helping her w/ this? as in they're convincing more artists to come forward? but i feel like thats risky as hell especially if they're not saying anything themselves bc they could be sending these artists to their doom if not enough ppl come thru or smth yk? so that might as well be ruled out too

or maybe they're in contact w/ her in the way that like they're helping her and other artists that wanna speak out? maybe helping them to figure out how to give them a larger/better voice? but i feel like that would likely fall on PR ppl that they hire

but if one of the 1d boys is in fact in contact w/ her dont u think there could've been a subtler way to tell us? I mean the tweets are already not subtle (the ones by rebecca) but i also understand why that is but its im sorry this is so frustrating and my mind is going a thousand miles an hr and im just so frustrated w/ all this bc none of it makes sense and i feel like there smth happening we dont know abt and i just wanna know and i wanna know if we can do anything to help and i just want them all happy and to be ok and i'll stop talking now

its totally fine for you come into my inbox and vent/speculate anytime you need. i dont mind at all! i only feel bad when i can't get to everyone (i see you and im sorry!) but always feel free to word vomit, lol

i don't blame you for going back and forth a lot. especially with the idea of the boys speaking out about the mistreatment as it's been very hush hush on their end for many years! however, i dont think its quite as unlikely as many make it seem.

just look at the last year and how much liam has spoken very plainly about the abuse and mistreatment the boys suffered. he has been very candid and it's only been increasing over the last year. we've also seen several other people connected to x factor and syco speak up for the first time over the last 7 months.

a lot of the things cumulatively that have happened over the last year make me think that perhaps several of the boys will speak up, will make a fuss, and do so at the exact right time. i think whatever is going on right now is very strictly planned and has a very particular timeline. and a lot of it might be happening behind the scenes (especially if they are attempting legal action) so we wouldn't know until it all came out (in the wash).

we won't know until we watch it all unfold, hindsight is 20/20. this will all make sense one day when we look back. but i'm gonna try to put some pieces together in the meantime because that's what this fandom is built on: noticing patterns and calling them out even when others say it's a reach or a coincidence. we didn't recognize rbb & sbb for what they were by going on about how "it's probably the sound guy" and "it's just a coincidence they are reading those books"! we got here by calling out weird shit even when we end up wrong.

and, as for me, i choose to believe that louis wouldn't purposefully mislead us with his overwhelming positivity over the last six months.
