Gas is genuinely excited to see you, after any reunion after the immediate stumble in the sheets you both just hold each other and talk about every single thing, meals coffee funny phrases one of his teammates made, how they miscounted your limes at the grocery store etc etc. Maybe little notebooks where you both jot down thoughts so you won’t forget.
I love him so much I want to squeeze him
Mildly suggestive.
-
You think you could look at him forever like this, shirtless, glistening with a sheen of sweat along his bare skin. And looking feels a lot like touching, because that softness echoes still across your flesh, runs along your palms even as they lay still on the bedsheets.
The coverlet sits low down at his hips, leaving the gorgeous planes of his body naked to your gaze. He faces you, laying on his side, the jut of his broad shoulder encompassing your vision, and the weight of his hand laying easily on your waist.
The sunlight through the window behind you has the deep brown of his eyes illuminated in gold. You’re talking, and he’s listening, and you cannot figure out how you still have anything to say as you stare ravenously at him.
“Anyway, I tried the recipe your mother sent, after all that nonsense. And I didn’t even need the third lime. So, waste of breath, really.”
He shifts, draws a little closer to you so his forearm is cushioned between your hip and ribcage. “How’d it taste?”
“Like heaven,” you trill dreamily, sneaking your hand up to stroke his clavicle. “It was perfect.”
He smiles, the corners of his eyes creasing.
He’s looking at you, too. His gaze roams you, light as the feathers in your pillow and just as soft, and lounging there in his vision is the most comfortable place to rest in the world.
“Makes me think of the last time Soap cooked for us on base,” he says, low and quiet, not needing his voice to reach anyone but you. “He decided he was going to ‘experiment’ with his mum’s haggis recipe.”
“Oh, Jesus,” you murmur.
“Jesus was not in the room for that one,” Kyle says gravely. “Nor Mary, Joseph, or any other Saint that could’ve saved us.”
You snort, and he shifts closer. His body heat has not abated from your earlier activities, and the trail of his fingers down your thigh suggest he has no intention of letting it do so.
“You seem to have survived it anyway,” you breathe, lifting your hand up to cradle his jaw.
“Course I did,” he murmurs, leaning in to brush the length of his mouth against yours. His hand finds the crook of your knee, and hitches it up on his waist. “Had to make it back here to heaven.”
You grin as he kisses the divot beneath your lips. “Sweet talker.”

do you have any silly little random headcanons for any of the characters?
sans is ridiculously good with voices. I've mentioned my jokey hc that skeletons can change fonts under certain circumstances, but he's got it down to an art form. spoken fonts for skeletons are kind of a mix between accent, pitch, dialect and timbre, and he can seamlessly switch between like, 5 or 6 of them, as well as "turn the font off" like we've seen him do in canon. it can be very unsettling, but he only ever uses it for prank calls and giving papyrus' bedtime stories a bit more pizzaz (which is the reason he still makes sans read them to him even now)
if you startle her in the right way, alphys can periscope up to 5 inches taller than her usual crouch
in the earlier resets after the vessel experiment fiasco, "asriel" grew more and more uncomfortable being referred to with that name. papyrus was the one who suggested he change it to "something more appropriate, like flowey!", and that name stuck ever since.
speaking of papyrus, spending that much time hanging around the snowdin canine unit meant their canine behavior kind of... rubbed off on him. you can hear he's just taken a shower all the way across snowdin from the faint but distinct rattling of bones in the distance.
toriel's party tricks mostly consisted in fire magic. you can tell which bars in the capital she was banned from in her youth from the scorch marks on the ceiling
post pacifist ending, papyrus becomes mettaton's manager/stage choreographer. he gives him carte blanche to use as much fire and deadly spikes as he wishes. and if sometimes he's dragged onstage during a performance well, papyrus is nothing if not a star. he's basically made for the spotlight! though it does make his next human/monster relations meetings rather... interesting.
undyne has ritually drunk every royal guard member under the table at least once, with only two notable exceptions: dogaressa, who actually kept up with her enough to get her tipsy, and sans, who passed altogether, as he prefers not to drink.
asgore hangs stuff off of his horns when he has his hands full. groceries bags, keys, watering cans small sized children. he likes to play dumb sometimes and pretend he's forgotten it to make other people laugh, but sometimes it DOES happen and he can go a full day with stuff hanging up there until he turns his head fast enough that it wacks him in the forehead.
undyne grew her hair out from the short cut she had as a child to match Asgore's (to this day she's still pissed that she couldn't grow a full beard too)
alphys is really good with mathematics. like really good. sometimes, back when she and sans were working together, she'd prepare her usual pack of calculations for him to check and slip in a made up equation where the variables in the solution would spell out something funny or vulgar, then send it off and wait patiently until she heard him laugh out loud in the other room

To be fair CF is just as much about found family than VW
Hi anon! I'm gonna link the post I talked about the Golden Deer here for clarity's sake lol.
I think when discussing themes of found family in different three houses routes, it's important to talk about Byleth. In a game where the single, main variable between possible futures is Byleth's interference, it means the story has to be written in a particular way--I mentioned this before when talking about character supports and endings; each character needs to be able to have a romantic ending with Byleth, which affects how their supports are written. In the case of the Lord's, this means you're given tangible reasons why you should've chosen them.
I mean. Let's be real here. Claude has the highest survivability rate of any character in the base game. He can't die if you're completing Verdant Wind (for obvious reasons), or Blue Lions. He's heavily implied to live to see another day in Silver Snow, and you can spare him in Crimson Flower! Edelgard and Dimitri die without the professor's stabilizing influence--but Claude? What does he lose without the professor.
That's sort of how I determine subtler themes of each route in a way--by comparing what you get with and without Byleth.
So when I argue that Verdant Wind is the most about found family, I mean it thematically; the other routes don't have tangible less found family, but without Byleth members of the Golden Deer just blatantly disappear unrecruited post time skip in several routes!
Without Byleth, the option for found family is removed for Claude in a big way, I personally feel, and not just by full recruitment runs lol. Not completely, of course--even in Crimson Flower a recruited Lorenz laments having to face off against Claude and Hilda is willing to die in defense of him and the city--but enough that it was blatantly shocking to me that if you don't recruit Marianne, she does not appear at all post time skip, no exceptions.
In a narrative sense, perhaps slightly unshocking; but in a practical sense? This leaves Claude without a healer.
Claude can't hold onto all his Deer even if you don't recruit any of them in the Academy phase. Silver Snow, Azure Moon, Crimson Flower--Marianne will always be gone; consistent, non variable. Depending on the route other characters like Lorenz might disappear as well.
The themes of found family are prevalent in all the routes, but since each route is pretty much defined by the Lord who leads it, I feel as though their personal relationship with the found family is most defining, if that makes sense.
People stand by Edelgard, Dimitri, and even Rhea for better, or for worse. Even recruited, characters like Felix make it abundantly clear that switching sides doesn't change the immense emotional attachment they have to their original lord.
This just. Isn't true for Claude.
Without Byleth, he doesn't get to keep everyone together. Without Byleth Hilda is recruitable in two routes. The idea that you could ever do the same with Hubert or Dedue is blatantly laughable.
Byleth's presence is what enables Edelgard, Dimitri, and Rhea to remain the most of themselves, if that makes sense. Edelgard's war strategy in Crimson Flower is a lot less aggressive and scorched earth then it is in the other two routes because she's had the professor as an emotional rock. Similarly for Dimitri, he's able to recover because Byleth is there to keep him alive and safe. And then Rhea will blatantly die in the Verdant Wind route where she doesn't in Silver Snow. Byleth, in every sense of the word, keeps these three characters alive and well.
But without her? They still inspire loyalty and devotion--unquestionable, again, if no recruitment takes place. Dimitri, Edelgard, and Rhea can all face up against you as enemies with the full force of their houses/allies (save for, oddly, Annette).
Claude does not.
Claude's whole route is about learning to trust others in a way that allows them to trust him. The Deer are devoted to Claude in Verdant Wind in a way they just, textually aren't otherwise, and that's due to Byleth's influence, both as a Professor to these individual students, and to Claude.
When I say that Verdant Wind is the most found family thematically to me, I mean it at a very base level. Claude knows he doesn't have what Dimitri and Edelgard seem to take for granted. It seems almost effortless, in Verdant Wind, the loyalty and devotion he inspires in his friends despite how often you, as Byleth, are told that Claude appears to be an untrustworthy and sneaky individual.
But it's easy to see in routes where you don't chose him that without Byleth, that image mantains. Claude is an outsider. And maybe he doesn't need Byleth in the way the other lords do to survive or achieve his dream (after all, there's nothing saying he can't open diplomacy with his former classmates after he goes back to Almyra so long as he lives to do so), but just as Byleth is uniquely able to be a peer to the Golden Deer, so can Claude uniquely trust and gain the trust of his house in full.
It's not as dramatic as the other two houses, and I think it's the point. Edelgard and Dimitri have already built a solid foundation of devotion and loyalty. Ferdinand and Felix (your "rival" characters in those houses) are loyal without Byleth, even if Ferdinand claims it's to guide her or if Felix complains every step of the way. Lorenz isn't. In Verdant Wind, you sort of take it for granted that everyone will be there at the reunion if they survived the Academy phase. Of course they will--they promised, didn't they?
But outside Verdant Wind, it's clear to see that you as the player took it for granted. And that's why I think Verdant Wind is thematically the most found family. It's not because the other routes don't love each other as much or aren't as complex or there isn't devotion. It's because fundamentally Verdant Wind is about Claude, for the first time in his life, having a group of people he can rely on and who will rely on him without hesitation. It's about the formation of found family, and how Claude doesn't need it to achieve his dreams, but man, does it give him something to achieve those dreams for.

For the NPC ask - as the WoL, did Kor go the First? Was there anyone special there for them?
Have your followers send you NPCs and you describe your OC's feelings/relationship to that NPC! I feel like there are lot of NPC's I could talk about, because SHB is hands-down my favourite expansion and where I have the most lore developed for Kor, but on the back of my Minfilia ask I thought I'd talk about Mini!filia. Or, more appropriately, Ryne.
Tumblr media
A haunting can be a lovely thing if you let it.
Kor always felt haunted, but not like this; not by an apparition that stood among her companions and felt solid in her hands; not by one who seldom smiled, who shrunk back — who felt herself to be the crudest simulacrum, a mockery of the woman they loved — and their actions, whether intentional or not, reinforced it.
What was it like being a machination of fate? A dozen little girls over a hundred years trained, mentored and dying for a doomed world; the spark of a ghost instilling itself in the babe for the threadbare hope that she would be different. Her soul was bruised before she left the womb, divots made by dozens of fingerprints pulling her in a thousand directions (to obliteration and inaction; to war or strife).
"Something called out to me. Someone I had to meet. You."
For fuck sake, she knew Minfilia's faith in Hydaelyn was unwavering, but to what end? How much could light proclaim sanctity while it drenched itself in the blood of children?
The answer, Kor would come to know, was that light waded through the mire like all the rest; not holy, not sacred, not divine. It was orderly in its machinations, but it was not good. A body in its ocean could still drown in it. When she coughed up its ichor, she was reminded of all the times Llymlaen thought it prudent she take a mouthful of brine — it all burned in her throat all the same.
"She's a fucking child," she chastised Thancred in the night. They'd had their oppositions as companions, but never like this — not for a haunting, a sister reimagined. She knew he loathed her concept and how she pantomimed a ghost. She knew he pitied her, sacrificial lamb to fate none of them signed up for. She knew there was a part of him, however small, that hoped his Minfilia would emerge bright and whole and alive again.
"Tell me." It was the silent question between them, the one he refused to ask and the one she'd never answer, "If this was your sister, what would you do?"
Koret was never a perfect sister. In fact, she wasn't a great sister at all. She wasn't any better than him and she knew it. Rational and a degree of separation could easily persuade her that it was not this Minfilia's fault for the accident of her birth. If it were Lily, however?
Well, they both knew her for a hypocrite.
But Minfilia? Oh, this was one was a lot like Lily. When she came out of her shell Kor saw how spirited she was; how she laughed with Alisae and comforted Alphinaud; how she brightened at Urianger's presence and admired Y'shtola's resolve. She was young and naïve, but she was no pushover. For the fright of her gift and the sacrifices before her, she was determined to be of use. She wanted to save her world and the people in it, even when everyone she'd grown up around preferred her in her cage — a songbird from another time.
When it came to it, the final choice of who should live (to laugh, to love!), her little heart beat so loudly as she declared "Me. I want to live. I want to fight."
From Minfilia to Ryne. How liberating it must have felt to finally have your identity. How relieving it must be to be loved for who you are. A lovely haunting to a beautiful, breathing sister.
Because that's what Ryne is to Kor. Half daughter, half sister. Try as she might, that maternal thread always found itself tangling in the youngest of their groups — ensnaring whether she wanted it or not — and it was so easy to envelop her in a family when she never had the opportunity to hold one. They were certainly not nuclear, and hardly ideal, but they were hers. They were hers and they were good.
Kor loves Ryne. It breaks her heart that she had to be left behind, but she is also comforted in the fact that she is one of the strongest girls she knows. She took her fate in both hands and charged, knowing her place but not letting her be defined by it. She has faced adversity and kept her sweetness, a trait admired by the Captain — even if she can't personally fathom it.
Yes, a haunting can be a lovely thing if you let it. A living thing, however? Well, that's even lovelier.

Hey tumblr user thes cquackity formerly viceduo. Could you tell me something (anything) about cTommy and cQuackity. Maybe their relationship with each other
Hey tumblr user bronze bronzetomatoes and such. Sure I can try. the relationship between c!viceduo specifically from c!quackity's pov is what i thought of first. specifically the way c!quackity views c!tommy as someone similar to himself and therefore also to c!slime. those two are filed under the types of relationships c!quackity has where they're similar to him almost to a fault, they've been exactly where he's been, had the same traits as he viewed himself as having before the traumas he endured: c!tommy is trusting, whole-heartedly dedicated to what he's doing, which c!quackity views as "good", loud and humorous. for me the beginning of the end of lnv stream really showcases this. it's a peaceful and hopeful precursor scene to the one that follows (c!quackity going through the horrors) but he chose c!tommy, other than c!slime, to bounce his original pre-trauma hopes and ideals off of. cc!quackity showed that through c!tommy and there's no better choice.
they've both been through a lot and c!quackity recognized that c!tommy has suffered. he treats c!tommy with a gentleness and patience he rarely has for other people, like when he's messing around as trousers and still openly dedicated to c!wilbur and c!quackity still maintains that steady friendship and love from his side. he maintains being an open door for c!tommy to come to should he ever need it, an ally in his worst moments (visited c!tommy in exile, soothed him after c!dream's escape) and idk. i just love them and i love the fondness c!quackity has for c!tommy and how that reflects his fondness that he can't entirely kill for the person he was before the horrible shit that happened to him

Have you ever wanted to draw something but you fought due to your skill level at the time you decide not to do it
Oh plenty of times! It's taken a lot for me to try and continue to push through and continue a piece even though I wasn't liking the final product.
I've also had drawings where I was trying something I wanted to draw, but my skill level isn't there just yet, but I still go for it anyways.
Even if it comes out a little bland or bad in my eyes, I still share it with friends and sometimes post it online. I'm still growing as an artist, and I'm still trying new things every so often with it.
Ultimately, it was really the encouragement from my close friends that helped me continue to draw through the years, as well as their criticisms, advice, and compliments. I dare say I wouldn't have gotten this far without their help.

I can't rememeber if you have been asked this before, but what kind of story would you want a Mario Movie sequel to have? Or what kind of themes or message would you want the film to convey?
First of all, it would depend whether the first film would have to be taken into full consideration for that or not; because if so, that would admittedly limit my ideas quite a bit. I have my own interpretation and imaginings regarding how I would have pictured the main story to go, you see! 🤓📝
But either way, if I had to start at a point that would initiate its own new adventure as a follow-up to the first one (regardless of what it was), I would make it so that the story revolves once again around something that we are closely accustomed to as gamers, and transpose it in a way that would give this universe a new sense of emotional depth and complexity.
The exact theme? Life. Or should I say: "additional" lives. 🎇
Their sheer significance and all-changing capacity. How we often take those for granted as gamers, until we can no longer afford to. What we would do if we had just one more. How we would have played the level differently if we had known. How it impacts our gaming experience as a whole and what it means if we stop to look at it from the hero's point of view. What would happen if they were given a choice. Etc. I've always felt drawn to the idea that these characters could actually die, and have thus made the 1-Up mushroom a massively important element of the lore that I have compiled for my version. Its origin and very existence completely shrouded in mystery. Endlessly sought-after by all. A power-up largely rumored to be real, although nobody can be sure of it nor even claim to have ever seen one.
My aim would be for this story to take a more somber and more mature route while retaining some of the levity that makes this franchise so charming and appealing. Have its narrative acknowlege the seriousness of the addressed theme and embrace its solemn tone. For it to be handled with care and respect; to allow for the characters to express a level of humanity never seen before, and its message to strike a chord with everyone. 💙
