You know my problem when I hc a character as ace? I always pick the most fucked up character and go "yes, they're ace!" which it's kinda problematic I guess but that's also my favorite character, I'm giving them the greatest honor, my own sexuality *insert here that up meme*

i want to write and post kinky things, but i can’t get past this base level of… shame, i guess. or embarrassment. or anxiety over judgement. it feels weird to ask just another blog, but yet i still am… how do you do it? did you have to get over the same thing? if you did, how?? sorry. i love your writing
You're good, friend, don't sweat it! ❤️ Honestly I don't remember if I was ever particularly ashamed or embarrassed by the idea of doing smut or not, but I WAS once ashamed and embarrassed by the idea of writing and posting things that I thought were too id-driven or too self-indulgent or just Too Much.
And then I thought, "okay, but if I'm not having fun and not being authentic and not doing what I want, what's the point anyway?"
So I just slooooowly step-by-step stopped reflexively reining myself in, and then I found out that actually the world is full of people who are exactly as id-driven and buck-wild as I am and they are both delighted and GRATEFUL to see my hyper-specific opinions about gender and yes they WOULD like to read about this character being the exact kind of queer I am interpreting them as and no there is NOT any such thing as "too much" hurt/comfort or too many fix-it AUs or too much focusing on your favorite character and yes they DO wanna see those kinks explored too; actually, you should probably write all your fave things a few MORE times and commit even HARDER this time. Like, the more niche and self-indulgent I get, the more enthusiastic and involved the people who read my stuff seem to get, in my experience. People LIKE the stuff I thought I'd get judged over. Like, a lot of people! Not EVERYONE, but still, way more people than I ever would've expected when I was regularly thinking "no one will like my stuff if I get too carried away and do what I REALLY wanna do".
I realize you're asking about specifically porn here, but that was sort of an overlapping thing for me in terms of the KINDS of porn I wrote, and like . . . I really do think making the things you really WANT to make is always gonna resonate harder than just making the things you think you're SUPPOSED to make.
I don't know if any of that was sufficiently helpful, but personally I always say you should just do what you want, in situations like these. You're not gonna be eighty and going "gosh I wish I'd had LESS experiences and tried FEWER new things!", you know?
(also if all else fails, there's always the good ol' "make a throwaway NSFW account to test the waters on your own comfort level and go from there" option)

AITA for telling a bunch of pricks to quit the fandom?
Most of you here hate Kpop and its fans but I'm still sending it because many of you are friends with people like them for other reasons, I know this for a fact. So ignore I suppose.
I'm Asian, I was mutuals with some Americans and one European fan from other fandoms, they all became very casual Kpop fans relatively recently and they do all this:
• Pick fights with fans of western artists for small things nobody really cares about, using fandom and the Faves as shield, which gets them to send hate to our faves who we know have dealt with a lot of cyberbullying for years.
Kpop fans all get conscious about mental health and cyberbullying for about an hour when something bad happens, but don't stop doing it and say that specifically our faves are "too sensitive and selling their trauma" which is another thing, I digress.
• Laugh at jokes made my antis cuz it's not serious, often these jokes are racist and dehumanizing but normal to them.
• Laugh with their mutuals from other fandoms when they make jokes based on rumours, like one time they thought it was funny that one of the Faves got called p*dophile by antis just bcs he's a man who likes kids and is playful with kids he meets, only women can like kids unproblematically apparently.
• Play "devil's advocate" when bigger accounts or inflencers talk shit about the Faves, most of the time it's biased hateful nonsense but to them supporting it is a sign of being mature fans who can take criticism.
They do this all the time, genuine love for an artist is beneath them, kpop is beneath them it's not Ackshually Art no since Koreans also don't take it seriously?! It's just that the bragging opportunities and clout is good around here!
• Act like SJWs most of the time but constantly make microaggressive comments about Korean people in their private chats, joke about mandatory military service, call themselves misandrists yet judge the women in Kpop like they're dolls, get into discourse they have no clue about and give their shitty takes, tell everyone else they don't know Anything about kpop but still partake in these fanwars and discourses, bring the worst takes from twitter to tumblr out of context for laughs, judge Every Single Thing thru American/ western lens and expect us all to know their double entendre and culture etc.
I got fed up, nobody else says anything to their face because they can spin it to make it like us Mainly Kpop fans are rabid obsessive weirdos who care too much about strangers and they're rational mature women of varying refined taste who merely observe kpop from a healthy distance. And I told them to stop being in the fandom if they're gonna be everything but fans. You tell me how all that is fan behavior? They call themselves fans but oh they're too busy adulting to even listen to a 5 year old album, not busy when it is about trashtalking their own faves and fandom, okay!
But apparently I was too rude, the audacity of me to call leftist wocs racist! I cannot tell them what they can or cannot do! So here we are.
What are these acronyms?

are u okay vic? sending love xx
(hateful ppl only have hate in their sad lives and try to bring everyone else down to their depressing level, don’t listen them!!)
frankly, anon? no, i am not.
and if you think about it, it's incredibly stupid to be all torn up because of a fucking sport I watch for general enjoyment but what else is new? i got into f1 when life hit the absolute possible low for me and it helped me immensely through it all, still does, and i found so many friends and wonderful people and i started writing again. it's pure fucking escapism coming back to bite me in the ass.
it hasn't been great to be an f1 fan lately because of events I don't need to be recapping - it's all out there in its disgusting glory, all over social media every single day. we're just being reminded of how rotten the core of this sport is and how high of a role money and power play. it's not new but disappointing nevertheless, considering there isn't much we can do to try and fix that.
but the hate among us, the fans? it's getting out of hand.
i will never go out on my way to police anyone's behaviour (it is never justified) but clearly there is a line between haha jokes and pure fucking malice. there is having genuine, critical conversations you can have (recently had one with my close friend and it was so refreshing to talk instead of secretly talk shit) and using this sport as a yardstick to measure someone's morals. it's been happening more and more, considering recent comments made by drivers in regards to the ongoing case that deals with harassment. that opened a can of worms that made ALL of us unhappy and even more disappointed, in one way of another. there is expressing genuine opinion and then there is being a hater because it's a trend.
are all Charles fans insane? are all Daniel fans delusional misogynists? are all Lando fans insufferable pricks? are all Max fans outright racists? are all Lewis fans stuck up? I could go on and same sentiment goes for each team on the grid. can we rightfully define someone by who they are a fan of? are we all required to make a statement each time a driver says/does something mindnumbingly stupid in order to, god forbid, not get cancelled along with that driver? can we genuinely bring a driver up without shitting on the other or is it not mutually exclusive?
there has been a barrage of hate towards several drivers and i get it, i do, it's sports, we're always gonna get like this. it's the whole spirit of it. i am not saying we can't root for someone and talk shit about the other. but again, i am seeing the waves of hate getting bigger and bolder, assumptions being made on the spot. people openly calling each other stupid over being fans or having a different opinion. in some ways any sense of compassion and critical thinking is dead in a ditch.
it wasn't like this before, if i am honest, but i am also a rather new fan. i am seeing all sorts of stuff on my dash both from people i don't know and from people i do know. it's a knee jerk reaction, to go and judge someone by posts and stuff, i know it but i made myself not do that. but i am just afraid of this ongoing trend of hate. i really am.
it just seems like there is no margin for error. your fave can either be squeaky clean, completely unproblematic, or they should be shot on sight. it doesn't matter if any of us acknowledge it or not. for some reason, it's a "you are what you eat" situation. and i find it rather unfair. you can separate person and a driver. two things can be true at once etc etc. none of it warrants wishing actual harm on other people.
so yeah, sorry for a rant. i'll stop now and, for what it's worth, i have been trying to unlearn the ways of "people pleasing", so here are just my thoughts that i don't think many will agree with but i don't want to bend under whatever popular opinions circulate here (especially by "big blogs"). i'd rather have people talk to me personally and i am always open to having a conversation, making friends and discussing opinions. those at the head of f1 management don't seem to do better but us tearing each other apart can also mean that we aren't doing any better, too. at least i personally think so. don't take my word as a generalized opinion.
thank you for the message, anon, i appreciate it. sorry again to be Like That. big hug!

Vi's Selfies Event
Tumblr media
This one's all about being self indulgent. self shipping. self love. etcetc. So many folks are shy about self shipping and for silly reasons. That's why I'm here to say fuck it for you. For the next week or so, we're celebrating the joys of daydreaming about your faves.
Tumblr media
"But that's cringe, virtue." Disrespectfully fuck off. If someone wants to bitch or judge anyone having some good, harmless, self-soothing fun, they're not welcome here...Now that that's outta the way, lets talk about how this is gonna go down :)
Tumblr media
You (yes, YOU!) are going to send me an ask about the self ship of your choice. Tell me a bit about yourself. Tell me a bit about your character (I don't know every anime super well so this could be really important if its not tokrev or another one I'm really engaged with). Send a mood board or playlist or anything you think will help me appreciate the dynamic! Pic crews of you and your fave are welcome!
In return you'll get me gushing over you and your fave. Simple as that. Some little headcanons or scenarios for you to ponder, and probably some questions about your beloved self ship dynamic!
Tumblr media
Important notes and rules:
Unless you explicitly request me not to, the ask will be published with your silly lil head canons or scenarios.
You don't have to be a moot, but I will not accept anons for this event for logistical reasons. PLUS this is unabashed self shipping! Nothing but resounding support here so no need for anon!
I will only answer one ask per person - so choose your self ship carefully!
You are not restricted to TokRev, but know I may not be very familiar with your character and that might affect the kind of content you get back.
I may get a little suggestive in the HCs so clearly state somewhere in your ask if a little suggestive content is a hard no
Be respectful to anyone and everyone else who takes part and consider interacting more with others' self ships.
I still reserve the right to refuse an ask if I feel uncomfortable, I don't expect that to happen, but I'd like to disclaim that upfront anyway
Block SelfVi's Event if you dont want to see this
So if you ever needed a sign that it's okay to talk about your self ship, consider this it and drop by for the SelfVi's event :)

rose-colored boy (instagram AU)
pairing: jack harlow x reader
A/N (please read): I think this is a crossover that no one would expect, like, hayley williams as a face claim in a jack harlow fanfic? i'm very proud of that.
okay, the important part: this is my first instagram AU, I've had this idea for months in my notes, and I finally got over my laziness to do it. I have many celebrities in my mind to do more instagram au's, in this one I used hayley because she matched with my idea, but I want to use many different women, so that we can all identify ourselves, although what we do best is occupy our imagination, so with a bit of it i hope we can enjoy all these no matter the face claim!
lastly, I did my best to edit these photos, I don't have any expertise, don't judge me LOL

yourfan7 FUCK MATTHEW
user who’s matthew?
yourfan7 @/user her ex-fiancé
yourfan8 it's very obvious that this song is about her ex-fiancé, what strikes me is that during the song she says "but i don't know what i want" like she's confused, maybe between two people, and at the end she says "but NOW I KNOW what i want", and she's not with him anymore and people had started these rumors about Jack... damn

jackfan10 I know a lot of people think this is an angry song about this “rose-colored boy”, and yes, that is how it starts but if you listen carefully to the lyrics you can realize how this boy never gave up on her, even when she was sad all the time. i think it would be so sweet if this song was about jack.

jackfan12 okay, it's confirmed

zachsangshow y/n breaks the silence about the rumors that her song, “rose-colored boy” has caused: “you know... I had known this guy for a few months, but there came a point where my whole life fell apart, because someone I trusted deeply betrayed me. I was upset all the time and I didn't want to infect him with my sadness, but he didn't leave, that's why the song starts with the phrase "low key, no pressure, just hang with me and my weather", because that's how things were those first few weeks. It's not an angry song about how annoying this guy is, but about how he held my broken heart, while I was telling him all these things about how horrible the world was.”
When Dan asked her if the song was the one everyone was speculating about (i.e. rapper Jack Harlow), she shrugged, smiling: "who knows?"

Okay, so... I've been holding onto this for a long time, & I really want to get it off my chest.
So I attended a con years ago with my SO. I was feeling particularly anxious & unwell, so I basically stayed mute the entire day. When I found out Greg Cipes would be there, I got super excited because I love Beast Boy from the Teen Titans cartoon of the 00s, Mikey is my fave ninja turtle, & he's done a couple other roles I enjoyed.
When we got in line, I wrote a message to my SO saying how I was so nervous that I don't think I would be able to speak to Cipes. He sympathized & said he'd try to explain in a roundabout way why I wasn't talking. I sincerely appreciated his effort & agreed to the plan.
I finally got up to meet Cipes, & my SO goes onto say on my behalf, "Hey, this is Lucia, & she's a big fan of your work as BB & Mikey!" I smiled at Cipes, who gave me a confused look and a forced half smile as he said, "Does Lucia...talk?"
I felt my face grow hot, & any word I tried to say to explain myself got caught in my throat. I started to panic, but my SO luckily swooped in to say, "Uh, she does, it's just a little hard for her today! Can we take a photo with you?" Cipes awkwardly got close to me for a photo, scribbled hurriedly in the notebook I brought for him to sign, then nodded a goodbye.
After that, I couldn't handle the rest of the con and asked my SO if we could leave early, so we did.
I look back on that moment years later and I feel so many different emotions: embarrassed, confusion, and...a bit betrayed. Those words really cut me deep. "Does Lucia talk?" It made me feel like a freak, like he was already judging me.
He didn't have to say anything. My SO already introduced me. He could have just said, "Hey, Tina, thanks for being a fan! Want a photo?" But he looked me right in the face & asked as if I wasn't there about my ability to talk. He made no effort to hide his appalment, which made the blow hit twice as hard.
As someone that can go mute depending on how stressed/anxious I am, that really hurt me. If I could control my speech during times of stress, I would in a heartbeat. But it doesn't work like that for me. The fact that Cipes was visibly put off by a fan being unable to communicate in the "typical way" made me feel so...small, alone. Like I lost an ally - someone that I thought would understand.
To this day, I can't watch 00s Teen Titans, or TMNT 2012, or hear his voice in any capacity without cringing. My heart sinks even when I see the character Beast Boy because I'm instantly reminded of how alienated I felt when I met a voice actor that I thought was cool, funny, and understanding.
Growing up with 00s Teen Titans, Beast Boy was my favorite character, & I always got so excited when I saw him on screen. That excitement carried over when I heard Cipes' voice in other TV shows that I loved. It felt like I knew him, & I always imagined how cool it would be to meet him in real life. Well, look how that turned out.
I don't want to outright call Cipes an ableist...but his actions toward me felt ableist. It felt like the same stern judgment and disgust that I felt when teachers would chastise me for not sitting still, or forgetting to do my homework for the hundredth time (ADHD). Or when my boss would begrudgingly wish me well after yet another episode caused me to be too weak/physically incapable of coming into work (absent seizures & dysautonomia). It felt like the same apathetic, annoyed, "why are you like this" judgment that I would receive whenever a disability of mine rendered me less than perfect. And the last person I expected to feel that from was Greg Cipes.
I guess this is why they say you should never meet your heroes.

fic writer interview
Thank you @bitterflames for tagging me! this was fun <3
How many works do you have on AO3? currently 24
What’s your total AO3 word count? 189 321 words (more than I expected 👀)
What are your top 5 fics by kudos? 1. Amour phew: 112 2. Mail from Ye Baiyi and other inconveniences: 107 3. Bed hair: 88 4. Lava Cake: 77 5. Rhythm of the night: 59 Lava cake is actually a surprise lol. I do not like this one very much.
Do you respond to comments? Why or why not? Always! Even if it's just a comment with some hearts. I appreciate every interaction and I also know how it feels to create something for the void, that goes for commints too.
What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending? I'd say that's "Evening with an old friend". Or "keep me cold?" oh I forgot about "Puppet play". hmmm 🤔 XD you see, I wrote lots of angsty stuff ("point of no return" is surely the worst (tm), but it's a collage so I won't count it in)
What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending? That's "A ghost in the neon light", I think, at least out of the dark fics.
Do you write crossovers? no, not a fan of it at all
Have you ever received hate on a fic? not really, I got one passive-agressive comment from the XiYao troll back then, but apart from that I only get nice comments. one benefit of writing niche things, I guess :P
Do you write smut? If so, what kind? me, an ace, writes smut surprisingly often XDDDD, but only non-explicit
Have you ever had a fic stolen? not to my knowledge
Have you ever had a fic translated? yes, that silly little fic "Bed hair" got translated to Spanish
Have you ever co-written a fic before? no, and I'm not sure if I could do that
What’s your all-time favorite ship? oh, I can't really answer that, I love them all <333 And I'm sure there will be new ones. But XueYao was always the easiest to write for me!
What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will? hhhhhhhh ... I'll consider only the published WIPs, otherwise I'd have to cry XDDD "synchronize me with the night" is one of my faves and I really like to finish it someday :(((((
What are your writing strengths? that's a bit hard to say as an insider XDD I think I'm good at dialogues and I really like writing them, and my muse is a crack addict, so I thrive at funny things. otherwise ... I think I'm also good at being true to the original character traits even in a modern setting, but that's something others can judge better, I'd say
What are your writing weaknesses? to actually write of course, and also finishing things :)))) I mourn the times when I only wrote one-shots, but now I almost always get myself into multi chaps (multi as in no end in sight) - so I fall out of fandom until I can finish, or the lack of interaction gets to me, or something doesn't work out as I thought it would ... I deleted some unfinished fics that kept haunting me. it's sad, but I felt bad whenever I opened AO3
What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic? untranslatable things like suffixes are okay imo, and sometimes when two characters speak in a language that's foreign to the one from whose POV it's written for example, then it makes sense - otherwise I think it's not good for the reader's flow.
What was the first fandom you wrote for? SS-GB! that was before I fell into the cdrama trash bin
What’s a fandom/ship you haven’t written for yet but want to? there are quite a few, I want to write something about the snow boys (as I call them XD) from My journey to you, Luo Mingxi/Linlang (Legend of Anle), mmmmmaybe Ning Yuanzhou/Yu Shisan (A journey to love), and I still haven't written Yuan Lang/Lize Palace Leader (Love and Redemption) even though they are very dear to me!!! they are so complicated and one of them doesn't have a name ffs :(
What’s your favorite fic you’ve written? please don't make me choose between my children :))))))
tagging @moonstone-vibe @bitterfrosts @qinghe-s no pressure ofc and everyone else feel free to do it!

No. 18 end of year books?
hello! thanks for asking!! referencing this post:
18. How many books did you buy?
.,,.,.okay i have Disclaimers for this, which are primarily (1) i have NO shelf control, and (2) i partook in subscription boxes this year (which i've never done before but was fun), and (3) i was curious from LAST year when someone asked me this so i kept very good track this year and (4) THERE WAS A SALE where a little going-out-of-business press was selling their entire remaining inventory for Very Cheap (read: i got 14 weird books from across the pond for $80) and that nerfed the shit out of my total lol
so what i'm saying is this number is Significantly Higher Than Usual and i spiders georg'd myself several times about it but please don't judge me too harshly lmaooo
anyway i have Acquired* Ninety-Five (95) books so far this year
*(please note that Acquired does include books that were gifted to me or that i won in giveaways or ARCs that my fave indie sent me because they're awesome. it's like at least 10 free books, which helps!)
mostly i sourced these from one of three (3) of my fave bookstores--Downbound Books in Cincinnati, Prologue Bookshop in Columbus, or Brilliant Books in Traverse City. honorable mentions also to Joseph-Beth in Cincinnati, Bookshop.org, and HPB!!
ALSO also please note that of these 95 (and yeah i'm going for an even 100 so we'll see how that shakes out), i have already read 33! these are the hazards of most of one's current library being boxed up and thus out of reach--i've been reading lots of new acquisitions by necessity (and i plan to read several more before the end of the year!)

As a writer, can you see the appeal of self-shipping? I don't mean to be negative, but I just don't understand that concept. Like, I just got block because I wrote fics about Endeavor/Hakws and Sukuna/Yuuji by my group of fics writers.
Before I was blocked some member criticize me by saying "how could you ship age gap like that, that is wrong in so many way". And I answered, "at least better like me than wrote self shipping like some of you guys. Gojo/reader and Sukuna/reader is just weird in so many ways". Then I was blocked.
Do you think I'm wrong?
I'll be honest, I don't see the appeal of self-shipping for myself. While I do have my faves and some I do find attractive that if you asked "would you marry Nanami" I would say yes so fast. But! Would I write fics of shipping myself and that character? No. Would I write x reader fics? No. I just don't see myself writing fics like that just as much as apocalyptic AUs.
But I don't think think every person who writes that material is a weirdo or writes bad stuff.
This is just my guess, but I feel like some people do it (write self-shipping fic) because it's just nice sometimes to imagine yourself with your favorite. Have that enjoyment, you know? I won't say that is concrete since again, I'm not a self-shipper so I don't speak for self-shippers.
Now, I don't care for those ships, just my own preferences, but I do think it's harsh they attacked you over your fics and you have every right to feel upset. Yes, people do have issues with those ships because of the age gaps (and other reasons), but I don't think there's room to judge if said people attacked you write similar things. Like, are they older or younger than the characters they ship themselves with?
It's like "I'm allowed to do this, but you're not".
It's like... okay, example I have used before in another post. It's like how some people complain about how canon will treat the characters badly like "Everyone is dying and suffering" and even go as far as to wishing bodily harm on the writer (y'all... just say you don't like it, that is just bejng extreme and you know it) then turn around and be the same people who will read and write fics that put the characters through worse. Those people know who they are.
I like a good angst fic or two. Hell, I'm dabbling in a bit of horror right now. But, damn. Bit much to get hostile towards someone.
If I don't see a ship fic I don't like, I'm moving on. Out of sight, out of mind.
They attacked, you responded. I do have to ask, if you don't mind, how long were you in this group for and did they already know you wrote those fics, like did you tell them? Or are they just finding out? Do themselves write age gap fics?
For now, I just think it's best to move on from that group.

Running order thoughts below!
SEMIFINAL 1
Cyprus is...kinda bye I guess...
I know Serbia was given the 2nd spot but I can still see it comfortably qualifying, there's no way it won't with both Croatia and Slovenia voting in this semifinal.
Lithuania 3rd...........no comment. I know he's one of the main faves of this semifinal and will still qualify comfortably because of that but come on, 3rd?? 😭
Mmmm I don't know if I should be worried for Ireland, 4th is a pretty risky spot (and gave me huge Latvia 2023 flashbacks) but it's kinda being preceded by UK? Who isn't that hyped from what I've seen...but also Ukraine is after and might get all the attention from literally anyone who's around their spot?? Prayer circle for Ireland...
Poland is also sandwiched between two big faves, Ukraine and Croatia...that might hurt them a bit, I don't know...
Slovenia has a good draw I think. I think she will also qualify. Plus being helped by Croatia and Serbia.
Ok, beautiful to see how they just basically boosted Luxembourg's chances to the stratosphere, I definitely see them qualifying now.
SEMIFINAL 2
oOOOF Malta...being 1st idk what to say...
Albania DOA 100%
SWITZERLAND TF IS THAT SPOT?? Look how they massacred my Switzerland...but judging how liked this is I have faith that this will qualify, it's like one of the biggest favorites of this semi right?? Also Greece
Mmmm Czechia between fan fave Switzerland and semi fan fave France, I don't have a good feeling about this.
I had this eerie feeling that after Czechia we'd get Austria AND IT GOT CONFIRMED FFS ofc they're giving the best spot for Austria like being after an unpopular entry bcs she fan faaaaveee~~~ 🤪💅👌💥✨️ slay guuurl- okay enough with the shitty fanwank impression, moving on
Denmark imo has a pretty good spot?? MIGHT get a bit hurt from Austria but...Also Armenia seems to be good.
...Latvia I'm so sorry honey...EBU tf you doing, this is literally the shittiest placement for them, they had the entire 2nd half for them to give, and EBU chose 9th.
San Marino not 11th?? Blasphemy.
Mmm Georgia before Belgium might not be that good...but also Georgia is after 2 unpopular entries so who knows...
Estonia 13th...ok
I was worried that Isr might be given the last spot which would help them a lot but the fact that they're literally after 2(3?) big entries this year (Belgium, Estonia and Italy who's from Big5) might not help them that much. But knowing how many supporters they have...I really don't know what to expect. I still hope for an NQ.
NORWAY 15th!!! What a great placement for them!! Also succeeds Isr which helps them a lot, I'm the most happy with their spot tbh!
Netherlands also, best spot. Congrats to them
Okay, I'm going to write my predictions here, after the running order. Will most likely change after the preparties or rehearsals, but here they are:
SEMIFINAL 1
Q(1ST-3RD): Ukraine, Croatia, Lithuania
Q(4TH-7TH): Serbia, Slovenia, Finland, Portugal
BORDERLINE(8TH-12TH): Ireland, Poland, Moldova, Australia, Luxembourg
NQ(13TH-15TH): Cyprus, Iceland, Azerbaijan
SEMIFINAL 2
Q(1ST-3RD): Austria, Belgium, Netherlands
Q(4TH-7TH): Greece, Switzerland, Estonia, Norway
BORDERLINE(8TH-12TH): Denmark, Armenia, San Marino, Georgia, Israel
NQ(13TH-16TH): Malta, Albania, Czechia, Latvia

how would you rank all the international* productions? for me, my fave would've been the OG german production and the least is the hungarian. *international = foreign language ones!
Oh anon, that's a bit of a tall order considering just how many international productions there, and that I have very little information on some of them. Assuming that "foreign language" means "non-English", then that eliminates London, Broadway, and all the US and UK tours, of course, but also Toronto and the Canadian tours, both Australian tours including the most recent restaging, all the World Tours, and I don't know if you intended this, but you've also cut the Helsinki and Gothenburg non-replicas, the Greece non-replica, and the Sydney Harbour non-replica. But I'm going to pretend you did not mean to do that and include them. Also, I will be lumping several productions into one, including ones in the same country (so Hamburg, Stuttgart, Essen, Hamburg revival, and Oberhausen, you are all one item now) and revivals (Poland, you have probably had a dozen revivals but as far as I'm concerned you're one thing).
Also, why so low on Hungary? There are so many weirder ones out there... Anyway, I can't exactly go and pick a top favorite, so I'm going to imitate my favorite actors list and rank them in tiers, and then only list the rest chronologically. To keep it simple, my tiers will be:
Favorite (the best, would pay to see over and over again)
Love (more solid than transcendentally great but doesn't disappoint, would pay to see at least once and probably go back)
Meh / Not Enough Info (okay, no strong opinions, willing to watch it once OR don't know enough about it to judge)
Dislike (if you took me to see this version live you would have to pay and I would still sit in disgruntled silence for the entire show)
Objectively it looks bad but emotionally I need to see it (this looks absolutely wild, I must see it, take me to it, I will pay you)
Favorite
Germany (Hamburg + revival, Stuttgart, Essen, Oberhausen) - While this should technically fall under the "consistently good" category, it is so good at it, that it kind of ended up rising to the favorite category. Love the casts (save for a few here and there), love the wigs and costumes, love how dang fast the chandelier drops... apparently it's translation is not great, but everything else is, and I just really love all the German productions.
Mexico City, Mexico - It had a great cast (again, save for a couple members), strong visuals, and all that, but what I really love was just how much freedom everyone was given in the role. You see it the most with Saulo Vasconcelos, but even other members of the cast seemed to have been given a ton of leeway in how to interpret the roles, and I just adore it.
Copenhagen, Denmark + revivals - The production that is just so strong in every measure: the costumes, the cast, the singing, the energy of everyone involved.
Moscow, Russia - A long time ago, I remember reading that the production deliberately changes Christine's wig between 'Point of No Return' and the 'Final Lair' to one that is messy, long, straggly, as a symbolic way of showing the turmoil she is undergoing, and I think that little detail shows just how much attention went into this production. And it's just so pretty.
Love
Japanese sit-down tour - Big points for being the first international production, for being so long-running, for being possibly the only production closest to the original, and for forcing me to come up with the term "sit-down tour". Negative points for a pre-recorded orchestra in most stops and their casts being unmemorable because they have to stick so strongly to that. But the good strongly outweighs the bad.
Vienna, Austria - This one is everywhere for me. The orchestrations are incredible. The tiny changes to some of the lyrics is gorgeous. The translation is better than the one in Germany (or so I've heard). They have some awesome cast members - Alexander Goebel is just wonderful. But then there's Colleen Besett and her refusal to change her expression, and Alfred Pfeifer was apparently a dull Raoul and a worse Phantom, and I don't like a lot of their costumes. But you know what? Minor nitpicks! Still love it overall.
Stockholm, Sweden + revival - Kind of love the original more than the revival (Mikael Samuelson and Elisabeth Berg > Peter Joback and Emmi Christensson, though Christensson is pretty good), but both are good, strong productions.
Scheveningen, Netherlands - Not too much to say here, just another really good production that doesn't quite make it to the top of the list (though Joke de Kruijf is divine).
Antwerp, Belgium - Pretty much the same as the above. The trio of Hans Peter Janssens, Inneke van Klinken, and Michael Shawn Lewis is a power trio.
Seoul, Korea + revival + tour - Would almost fall under the "not enough info" page if not for bootlegs. Love the cast (the original slightly more than the revival), they used the World Tour sets, costumes, and wigs and I generally like those, the original translation was supposedly not good at all but they changed it a lot during the show and then after, so... yep, another good one.
Budapest, Hungary - Mixed to positive feelings. On the one hand, they stick pretty close to the original in many ways, which benefits the overall show. On the other hand, it's almost not original enough because of that. Great sets, like the variety of wig colors, costumes are hit and miss, and so is the cast for the most part (some favorites in there and some that I'm really not a fan of). Also had the oldest cast ever though, so points for that.
São Paulo, Brazil + revivals - Like the others, a really good production that does everything right. The existence of Thiago Arancam in the revival does drag them down though.
Prague, Czech Republic - Similar to the Budapest production, its similarity to the original is both helpful and hinders them. In general, another decent non-replica that plays it safe by emulating the original for the most part, until it decides to do something absolutely buck wild like their entire 'Point of No Return'.
Oslo, Norway - A non-replica that I actually like without having to say that it's because it's so close to the original! Basically took the template provided by the Bucharest production and improved on it in every way, resulting in a non-replica that keeps to the spirit of Phantom while also making a lot of interesting changes. Also, best chandelier crash ever.
Greece (Athens + Thessaloniki) - Mainly a clone of the above, so it goes here by default. Not happy that they toned down the chandelier crash though.
Sydney Harbour, Australia - Another great non-replica, may be tied with Norway as my favorite, one that is clearly modeled off the original but makes enough changes to be fresh and novel. Phantom flying down in a chariot? Awesome. Christine getting ripped out of her Aminta dress to reveal her wedding dress? Bold move. An actually tasteful 'Point of No Return'? Hell is freezing over. The entire cast performing in the rain? Kudos just for that.
Meh / Not Enough Info
Madrid, Spain - I used to like this one, but now it's just... fine? Nothing to write home about, I suppose. Visuals are fine, cast is fine. I like the amount of proshots that got leaked, at least.
Buenos Aires, Argentina - Lands somewhere between "meh" and "not enough info", because there really just isn't a lot out there of this production. The cast was very pretty, at least?
Estonia (Tallinn + Tartu) - Reviews of this production make it sound incredible: more contemporary aesthetic, a love triangle where Raoul and Christine are unequivocally the OTP, a version where Christine only kisses the Phantom on the cheek? Sign me up! But alas, there's only a couple of audios and no video footage of this production aside from promotional clips. Not enough info.
Kristianstad, Sweden - All I know of this production is "red-head Christine" and "full-face mask for the Phantom". Would love to know more about it.
Dislike
Poland (Warsaw + Białystok + revivals) - The idea of basing a production off the 2004 movie was a choice, but they couldn't even do that right; the costumes look terrible! Tempo is too slow, the cast was constantly emulating the movie cast (though at least they grew out of it), and what is that second unmasking scene? But hey, epic chandelier crash. Also, bondage Raoul.
Helsinki, Finland + Gothenburg, Sweden - Well, it has good sets. Um, the heavy metal aesthetic is... bold? And you have to admire the bravery of using a papier-mache chandelier, a deformity that rivals the 2004 movie's, and directing the Phantom to sing 'Music of the Night' to the audience with no movement whatsoever.
Bucharest, Romania - Everything about this production was improved in the Norwegian and Greek productions, but thanks for being the prototype. Also, Phantom please stop casting people who won a singing competition on TV.
Objectively it looks bad but emotionally I need to see it
Belgrade, Serbia - Look at this minimalist, peak modern set. I must see it, for I crave going blind at the sheer scarlet overload of it all. Also, flower crown Christine.
Sófia, Bulgaria - What is this production.

BTS MTL: the kinkiest member
MOST
Namjoon: Though he is the kinkiest, I think his kinks generally all have a theme. He likes to be dominant. So he wants to handcuff, blindfold, tie up, spank, overstimulate and all that jazz.
Jungkook and Jimin are tied for second. Why? Because they are both switches. They have a small set of submissive kinks and maybe a nice chunk of dominant kinks too. I think they both stick to the basics(and by basics I don't mean they're vanilla, their kinks are just more commonly known) although they would never judge someone else for having exotic ones and would try them out if their partner wanted too. Instead of switching up the kinks though, they would more want to switch the position or place they are fucking you (which ig could technically be a kink but leave me alone.)
Hobi
He's an experimental kinda guy, he may not actually have every kink he wants to try, but he most likely is just figuring out what he likes. Once he actually figures out what he likes, he will probably be into a wide range of things, but he'll have like a mental ranking of his faves.
Taehyung
I feel like a lot of people view taetae as a hot sexy daddy that has many kinks, BUT THIS IS MY PAGE OKAY. I respectfully disagree. I think he's just a lil mommas boy, a traditional kinda guy. When it comes to sex, he wants to make love to you. There's probably not that many kinks but he'll occasionally have a bit of a horny outburst where he just can't control himself but most of the time, bro just wants to show you he loves you.
Jin and yoongi are last.
In my opinion, these guys are just not very sexual people in general, meaning kinks are just not gonna be very common with them. If they love you or have a crush on you, I think they would prefer to show it in other ways rather than sex.
LEAST
AHH I JUST WROTE SMTH ABT SEX WITH BTS I FEEL WEIRD. 💀

I’m so glad to have a friend who enjoys One Piece! How did you get into it? Do you have a favourite character? One you can’t stand? A favourite arc? Any fic recs?
I WAS FUCKING WAITING MY WHOLE LIFE FOR THIS ASK. NOT EVERYONE KNOWS IT BUT ONE PIECE IS THE SERIES OF MY LIFE. I CAN'T IMAGINE AN EXISTENCE WITHOUT IT!
probably the longest post I have ever made incoming:
I got into it in April 2003 (I was 11 at that time). Watching anime on TV was the only way for me and my brothers, there was no computer and internet around. We were hooked since episode 1 and never missed an episode, we would watch all the re-runs and be hyped about every epic moment and cry our eyes out at every tragedy or happy moment. Laughing our asses off at the jokes (Skypiea and Thriller Bark are imo the funniest!) And since then I'm a huge fan, though there were several years I lost touch. I picked up the series again a few months ago and stopped at the beginning of the Wano arc (due to low energy, yk how it is with taking care of the family etc).
And OMG I have so many faves!!! Nami!!! Her arc inspired me so much I took her name as my nickname. For a lot of rl friends, I'm just Nami, sometimes my teachers were confused and asked me if it's my middle name fklsdhfsjdůlkasd!!! She is so caring! Big sis vibes!
Zoro! He is so cool! Do I need to explain this? (also I find his relationship with women really interesting, the guy is so traumatized! And also he would literally die for you!) Devil Child Nico Robin. She is smart, powerful as hell and MORBID and her sense for cute things is just immaculate. The episode when she got to be part of the Strawhats is still one of my favorites. Maybe I'm mistaken but she is the only one that invited herself and not because Luffy told her so. I... okay, I will stop because otherwise, I will write a whole ass essay about her and why she is THE QUEEN of all queens!
The future king of the pirates Monkey D. Luffy! Period.
Trafalgar [redacted] Law.
*GRABS YOUR CHEEKS*
*PULLS YOU VERY CLOSE, OUR NOSES TOUCH*
You will understand once you watch more.
PERONA. I don't know why but I fell in love with her so hard I want for her to be real so I can propose to her! (but I also ship her with Zoro)
And here is a list of others I like: the whole strawhat crew (Jimbei ofc included), Sir Crocodile, Bartolomeo the Cannibal (I couldn't get enough of him, he is so silly), Donquixote Rosinante, Smoker, Tashigi (I ship her with Zoro too, wtf is with me to ship Zoro with so many characters!), Bon (Mr. 2), Boa Hancock, Bepo. I'm sure there are more, but I will stop here haha. I hate Donquixote Doflamingo, the Cipher Pol agents, Big Mom (she...I... she is a monster, like...wow), Buggy the Clown (imo the most pathetic anime guy in history, but the comedy around him is good), most of the Marines (what a bunch of assholes, really, it's a mirror to our world) and ugh, I'm sure there are more, but I can't remember XD! Fave arcs: Arlong Park, Loguetown, Alabasta Saga, Sky Island Saga, Enies Lobby, Thriller Bark, Summit War Saga And here begins the controversy, ofc I'm not including the Wano arc because I haven't seen it whole yet...But I'm not able to enjoy the after-time-skip arcs. Great animation moments, the story is amazing too, but the pacing is just so bad. So many fillers within the episodes too, Dressrosa was a torture to watch. So if I just judge it by story everything is great! Maybe reading the manga would be the better choice. But I didn't want to miss the great animation.
I haven't read any fics yet but I have a few in my marked for later list:
What I enjoy the most are artists that create nice little stories and AUs! I'm going to make a separate post and tag you, the list is too long!

Okay i finished All for the game and i have many many thoughts since these books have taken over my brain unfortunately.
I want to preface everything by saying that the series is bad BUT i don't think that it's that relevant. Like from what i know these were self-published on a blog and i doubt that they ever saw a professional editor, no publishing house ever touched them, so judging them as one would judge a professionally edited book is not fair and to be completely honest there are books, even popular ones, that are worse than these on every level.
Now that this out of the way here's my thoughts on aftg in no particular order
I love the main trio sososo much. Probably the main reason why i enjoyed this as much as i did is them. All of their interactions are immaculate. I hoped for a three-way relationship till the end
Neil is such a good protagonist. He's insane but he's convinced that he's normal. The fact that he can't shut up sends me every time and even funnier is that even if everyone knows that he can't keep his mouth shut no one does anything to stop him ever, they just let him. And he is so ace you can't change my mind
I love Andrew he's so edgy. And even if he's so incredibly edgy his backstory still hits hard. Kinda disappointed that all of his obsession with Kevin basically disappeared in the last book (with a couple of exceptions) for no good reason, i wanted it to be more prominent in the resolution but it just fizzled out
Kevin. Kevin is my fave. I love him to bits. He is the dark haired deuteragonist of a sport anime. He is the Kageyama of this series. He has two mood 1 being obsessed with exy and 2 having a panic attack 10/10. And i don't care if he has a girlfriend, to me he is ace. The author can say what they want but i don't give a shit. Ace icon that only think about sport and have mental breakdowns
Speaking of Kevin's girlfriend Thea... she's the most weird character in the books. She's name dropped out of nowhere halfway through book 2, then she's never mentioned again till the second to last chapter where she appears for three pages, she does nothing relevant for the plot and she disappear again. She's one of the few characters who has a proper physical description so we know she's hot but her impact is zero. You can remove her and nothing will change. Kevin would have ended up there even without her so why even include her? Like girl you're hot but who are you and what are you doing here?
Talking about hot girls, Allison is my queen. She's iconic, she never said anything wrong ever in three books. She is the only one asking the real questions and she deserved more pages. She and Renee should have kissed at the end
The only thing that keeps the series from being set in generic contemporary times is the way Matt styles his hair. That is so mid y2k every time it's mentioned i got whiplash
Sad that the slurs disappeared after the first book i found them funny and a good way to convey the year the story is set in
The "your intricate and endless daddy issues" is one of the best line ever written it will never leave my vocabulary
Riko has the worst daddy issues imaginable which is 1 funny 2 makes him a good character and i almost feel for him... but then i remember he hurt Kevin sooooo
Jean is pathetic in a endearing way. But he's french and that makes hin lose a lot of points
I'm sad that the Trojans are there for only one chapter i wanted to see more of them
The way Neil talks about Kevin is hilarious. He can't stand him but he talks about him like the second coming of christ. Everything would have been solved if they just had a make out session in the locker room
Still not over the fact that while this books are very much about sport the yakuza is a prominent part of the story. Like that is an important part, half of the books are about it
The ravens are the least serious element in all of this. There's tension about Neil's lies being unveild and Kevin general well being and you are worried for them... and out of nowhere appears the villain team of a children's cartoon with all of them with the same clothes and walking in v formation how am i supposed not to laugh! And how is no one asking questions about them?? After 5 years of living in a cult they are released into the world and you are telling me that they are well adjusted enough to not rise any suspicion about what is going on in there?? No one is asking why there are living quarters in a bunker under a stadium?? If only one person says something after they graduate they will be fucked, there's no one with a family in that team? Why does the yakuza let this happen?!?!?!
The 16 hours long days during the holidays will plague me till the day i die it makes no sense and i find it hysterical. Why are they doing it? Don't know but they do
Riko has a spit kink i said what i said

You review ": From Blood And Ash + the other books. Look. When are we going to discuss the absolute antisemitism that ribbons through these books? I guess its fine since Casteel is so hot, but lets not pretend the whole shadow elite drinking the blood of innocents for eternal youth/power isn't just repackaged blood libel because it absolutely is. Ignoring that, JLA is a bad writer with no editor pumping out book after book to bleed her fandom dry. How many 500 page books of no plot are people willing to read before they move on?
Gurl, i-. i was onep of the people kinda follow the booktok book reco back inthe day. When ut was hyoe and love all across the booktok fandom. But gurl. I WANNA BE MAD AT HOW BORING THE BOOK AND HOW I WANA SLAP BOTH ML AND FL. I was so mad by how hype the book is. I feel betray by the booktok community.
Then i give chances to the Kingdom of wicked. Like hellooo?? This book is dar below kingdom of ash. AT LEAST, i remember that cassteel is the ML,pretwnded to be a guard, climb a tree wuth the maiden FL and black hair. But this ML in KoW?? I remember nothing of the guy. He so bland,no spice at all,all salt and thats is that. But I did remember he had a good body. The rest? Wth am I reading? Is this a fever or what? I dont even remember whathappen in that book. But i know the FL hs twin and FL grandma sounded fun to have in holiday and her cook can solve world hunger
How the hell tiktok love this book. Half of the booktok reco is a scam. Now, the only reco i take from booktok is non fic or anything not YA,fantasy and romance
I think my issues fall into two categories: is it bad technically (craft/pacing/writing/etc etc) but not harmful
Or is it bad (all the same) AND harmful. I have a rant, I'll put it under the cut
So like- who cares really if someone likes garbage? I like garbage too, we all rummage through the trash and pick our faves and while it's not for me and I don't like a lot of it, I don't begrudge people who do. Kingdom of the Wicked is here. It's boring, it's got a plot that never made sense and it's clear the author didn't have a plan when she went in. Whether she wanted to write her books as quickly as she did or was pressured, I think the constant pumping out books for consumption like it's television seasons diminishes the quality. I would guess publishers are riding author's hard to write faster in order to captialize on hype because it makes them money.
I also think the way a LOT of self-published author's write like they're publishing to AO3 is part of the problem. So like- leaving me a rude review is mean because I'm doing this for free and it's a hobby but author's ask you to consume their work, often for money and its disrespectful when they don't, for example, hire an editor to catch their mistakes and then turn around and make people feel bad for leaving poor reviews or send their followings after reviewers for pointing out the lack of quality and consistency.
Those things are, in my opinion, bad and I dislike it's usually white mediocrity being put on this pedestal over and over when there are very well written, GOOD stories by poc author's that are ignored in favor of another mid story of a dark haired abuser and a spineless sassy LI.
But then there are bad books that are also harmful and that's where I don't feel so nice and I AM judging people like. Very hard. ESPECIALLY when it comes to the blood libel because Jesus goddamn Christ it's like every 4 months it's another author saying "oopsie I accidentally put antisemitism in my book" like look at the Haunting Adeline author. At least she's sorry but it's really exhausting AND highlights what a good editor could catch if they had any respect for their readers.
JLA is offensive in my opinion because she doesn't care so long as people keep buying her padded books. She'll keep churning out books and if you say "you know maybe it's okay to be critical of what you consume, even if it's just for fun" you get railroaded with people saying you have internalized misogyny and can't stand to see women enjoy themselves. I personally support women's wrongs EXCEPT when they're perpetuating hateful centuries old conspiracy theories that have gotten people killed and are still spewed on Twitter by, for example, Kanye West.
And the fact that so many of these author's rush to write whats in their heart and what's in their heart too often is racism is a conversation I feel like booktok isn't interested in having and so people still uphold Haunting Adeline when it never deserved the hype (but at least the author said sorry I guess, and reworked her issues) and will say they don't notice the antisemitism in FBAA (lucky them) and they're just trying to have fun without ever considering whose expense they're having fun at or like. How the self-publishing model COULD disrupt who we make popular if people could move away from the same four tropes strung together by shreddable plot and a dark haired man with tattoos.
