Nico and Percy's dynamic through the series is eternally funny to me, because it's just. like.
Percy's having a constant mental struggle between his fatal flaw of loyalty with a promise he made to Bianca to protect Nico, versus his Big 3 kid desire to maim other Big 3 kids / Poseidon descendant urge to totally maim Nico specifically. He hates Nico so so much. He thinks Nico's annoying and weird at best, and creepy/sketchy when he's older. The only positive thoughts Percy has towards Nico are "He's Bianca's brother and Bianca was my friend and I owe her/He's Hazel's brother and Hazel is my friend and would kill me if I was mean to him," "He's a powerful asset and useful ally (if questionable)," and "He's kinda pathetic and I feel maybe a little bad about it." Percy has multiple occasions throughout the series where he strongly considers - and on one occasionally actually goes through with - throttling Nico.
Meanwhile, Nico is following around Percy like a lost puppy. He explicitly can never bring himself to even dislike anything about Percy no matter how hard he tries. He has a whole bit in BoO where he's mentally going "UGH he's so stupid BUT IT'S ENDEARING HOW DARE HE." He's totally smitten. He's making deals with his dad for Percy. He's making convoluted plans to help Percy stand a chance against Kronos. During the entirety of BoTL it's like he's playing tsundere - "I'm helping NOT PERCY SPECIFICALLY with this quest! Me helping Percy would be SILLY because I DEFINITELY HATE HIM." Then he proceeds to show up to Percy's birthday party to basically ask him on a weird date and spend the entire next book scrambling around trying to help him or protect him or impress him. And Percy could not give less of a shit.
Just. That dynamic is so funny to me. Percy is the founder of the Nico Protection Club in that he's the one they're all protecting Nico from and meanwhile Nico is throwing himself at Percy to the point where the literal god of gay love calls him out on it.

my favorite thing a character can do is ask another character "am i enough for you, could i be enough for you to set aside your goals/ambitions/mission" and then the other character cannot or won't answer them because the answer is no, it's not that they don't love them or they aren't important but some things are beyond love beyond choice beyond reason and it doesn't matter how much they want to say yes they simply can't

i hate it when a song is mostly ass but it has those 15 seconds of pure bliss that makes enduring the whole thing worth it. why must there always be suffering before pleasure

“Fnv fans are so annoying.” We are! And we’re having fun with it! You go be annoying with your own shit! Love things deeply. Be annoying about things. If people don’t like it block them! If you don’t like other people for their annoying thing you can filter out the content and/or block them!

wanting to talk about your favourite character, but
can't articulate thoughts into words
can't stay on a single tangent
keeps forgetting details
overthinking your characterization
"I don't know how to describe it ok like you have to read the story to fully grasp it"
"do you want to see my daughter" "sure" (shows photo) "there they are" "is that your daughter" "yes" (end of conversation)
can't express your adoration for a character properly except through "I Hate Them I hate them i hate them i hate them i need them GONE"

crazy that in s1 we had mike getting clocked as queer by his homophobic deadbeat dad at the dinner table, only keeping a weird girl he found in the woods (that he was trying to get CPS called on initially so he could get rid of her and go back to looking for will) in his room ET-style because she has intel on will's location, and sobbing in his mother's arms over will's "death" to the lyrics and we kissed as though nothing could fall and the shame was on the other side (from a song that also has lyrics about being secret lovers at risk) and yet people still denying byler

*sigh*. So. 3x03 right. "You rigged this table so that no matter what plate Monty was under, he would drop down from under it just as your contestant made their choice!" and how that works with the game motif in 4x10, "Ugh, again? Remind me how this 'game' is supposed to convince me I'm not destined to turn into an evil demon monkey thing again!? Cause every option I pick takes me to this same screen!" "Hey you're finally getting it! No matter what options it's giving you, you're always gonna end up in the same spot." And it's like, losing being inevitable, the game being rigged, the only option being to find a different choice, yet still "every choice has consequences—for someone." Overall I just kinda feel like this:
