Price―

He’d be in the middle of a discussion with some of his friends when one of them casually mentions the name of a dating app that’s supposedly hot right now.

At first, he doesn’t care. Reassures himself he’s too old and busy to waste his time with such a thing... until he has a rough night during his downtime. Loneliness weighing heavily on him to the point he finds himself downloading the damn app during a moment of weakness.

At first, he doesn’t use it much. His profile is simple: he’ll post a few photos of himself, vaguely mention what he does for a living, what he’s looking for. And that’s that for a few months. Whenever he had the time, he’d swipe through a couple profiles here and there, but nothing serious had ever come from it.

Until 6 months later, when he finds himself humoring that deep ache in his heart, browsing through profile after profile until he lands on yours.

He knows better than to be fooled by looks, but he’d also be a liar if he said that he wasn’t smitten with you the moment he’d laid eyes on your photo. With a swipe, he silently hopes that the two of you will match, and when you eventually do, he’s over the moon but plays it as cool as he possibly can.

When he takes you out after talking for a while, he properly wines and dines you, doesn’t even kiss you after the first date either. Instead, he’d taken your hand in his and kissed it before asking if he can take you out again.

It takes a few years, but when he proposes, he goes all out in every way possible but makes sure to keep it all private. He can’t stand public proposals.

Soap―

He was home for the holiday season when he’d met you in a super market. You’d looked as lost as ever when browsing the food, so he couldn’t help but ask if you were okay. You mentioned that you were shopping for a relative but weren’t local so you had no idea where to even begin.

He’d helped you grab everything you needed before he felt a rush of anxiety hit him like a train. He’ll never understand what drove him to feel as if he couldn’t let you go without at least asking for your number, but he was thankful for it for the rest of his life.

You’d talk to one another over the phone throughout your entire stay and long afterwards too... By the time the holidays are rolling around again, the two of you had been long-distance for quite sometime, but it’d be the first time seeing you in person after so long. After spending the holiday together between both of your homes, Johnny can’t help but want to keep you in his life for as long as you’ll allow it.

2 years down the line, the two of you are visiting his family again when he decided to propose to you, and when you accepted, best believe both him and his family were excited and quick to initiate a group hug in celebration.

Ghost―

When Simon is off duty, he doesn’t know what to do with himself. He struggles with finding things to keep himself occupied while he’s home. Stress and other emotions make even the simplest of tasks difficult for him. So, over time, he’d developed a habit of heading down to a local park to try and relax. Sometimes he’d take a book, other times he simply sat at a bench and allowed himself to get lost in his own mind. Mostly, he’d sit in silence and just enjoy watching the world pass him by.

One day when he’s walking over to his usual bench, he sees you there with a book in one hand and a drink in another. Captivated by the words on the page to the point that you don’t even notice him when he sits down on the opposite end of it, not saying a word or even glancing at you afterward. Instead, he simply watches you out of his peripheral vision. Wondering what you’re reading that has you so engaged.

He didn’t speak to you then. Instead, he’d allowed it to happen a few more times until you finally broke the silence between you two. Glancing up at him from behind your book with a shy smile as you introduced yourself to him. Behind a dark disposable mask, Ghost’s lips quirk upwards into the smallest of grins, thankful that you’d taken initiative. After you greet him, you do your best to make the occasional small-talk before you’ve to leave.

The same thing happens a few more times before he finds himself purchasing a burner phone just so he can give you a number to reach him at.

From there, the two of you would get to know one another better, sharing park dates together before you began to suggest other types of dates. Next thing Simon knew, the two of you were officially together and he was absolutely mad about you, thinking about you every second of his days. Despite the fact, he’s a complicated man with a lot of baggage, so he takes his time with your relationship.

4 years later, he’s the one to beat you to the punch and proposing to you in the very same park you met at after he takes you on a picnic.

Gaz―

IMO, Gaz seems like the type to frequent a coffee shop/cafe he enjoys to the point he’s basically a regular. Has his own favorite table, order, and everything. That is, until one day he arrives a bit later than usual and he sees you sitting there.

Normally, he would have just let you have the table but before he could even turn away to find another one, you were asking him if everything was alright. He couldn’t find it in himself to say yes and turn away. Instead, he somehow manages to not only ask if you two can share the table, but give you a dazzling smile after he does so as well. Taking special notice in how you had blushed afterward.

He wouldn’t ask you out right away. Instead, he’d build up to it. Gives you his number that first day so you two can get to know one another better while he’s off duty. He has to head back for another mission soon, but rest assured whenever he has any time off and it’s safe to do so, he’s spending all of his free time messaging and calling you. Getting to know you better.

Eventually, after the two of you have spent a few unofficial coffee dates together, he works up the courage to ask you out on a proper date. He’s upfront - but vague - about what he does and how it can affect his free time, but thankfully, you never cared. Instead, you’re just happy he finally asked you out after months of beating around the bush.

After your first date together, it’s all downhill from there. He’d fallen head-over-heels for you to the point even his fellow Task Force members noticed and teased him about it. Even more so after he’d gush about how he swears “you’re the one”

Little did they know by the end of the next year, the two of you would be engaged~

Zane and his personal relationships

Something I was thinking about that got me a little messed up It's been stated multiple times: -Cole and Jay are best friends -Jay and Nya are a couple -Nya and Kai are siblings -Kai is protective over Lloyd (also siblings) (arguably the is more fan canon than canon, but season 5 still exists and I'm sticking to it!) The only one to not be given a specific relationship tag with the others (others being the core 6 of the ninja team) is Zane. -No best friend relationship like Cole and Jay - PIXAL is called his closest friend -PIXAL is also his love interest - though it is not a confirmed relationship unlike Jay and Nya As for family: Kai and Nya (now) have their parents Jay has his parents Cole has Lou Lloyd has Wu, Misako, and (sorta) Garmadon Zane had Dr. Julian and lost him twice. He has no relationship with Echo and likely doesn't know he exists. At the beginning, Zane was definitely Wu's favorite, but then Lloyd came into their lives and their relationship started to fizzle out. Cole and Lloyd are arguably the closest with Wu now. Post season 2, the closest relationship (bar PIXAL) Zane really had was with his falcon. The falcon has not been seen since season 8. Now for one on one moments between Zane and the ninja: -Kai was the speaker at Zane's funeral.

-Cole and Zane are together in the noodle factory during season 4.

-Nya was the one to discover the OverLord virus. She was helping Zane download his memory onto the Samuri X computer.

-One of the longest team-ups Zane ever has is with Cole - season 8 when they interrogate the SoG member and infiltrate the gang. Even then, they get split up pretty early on.

-Lloyd was the one to confront the Ice Emperor (When confronting said Ice Emperor, Lloyd brings up the pink gi to try and jog his memory? That's the best he can come up with? - kinda yeah. Lloyd and Zane don't have many personal moments with each other to bring a call back to.)

-Other than Jay attempting to fix Zane during season 5 (giving him a pirate voice) I do not recall one on one scenes with the two of them.

I don't know what the point of this post really is. It's just that we see each ninja gravitating towards one particular person when they are in trouble or hurting. We don't see that with Zane. I saw a post saying that the new Ninjago series won't have seasons focused on one character over the other (can not confirm this myself) but rather focusing on the team as a family. I am curious to see how they develop the all the relationships (and a little nervous) but yeah. Again, don't know the point to this, just had it on my mind. Zane is a part of the family - develop his individual relationships please!

So how are we feeling right now? (TBB Spoilers)

Episodes 10 & 11 may be some of the darkest we've seen this season. We all knew the storm was coming but wow that was such a dramatic shift. I definitely had some thoughts and realizations after watching the latest release.

Okay first off lets talk about the elephant in the room: Tech. A lot of people thought that Identity Crisis would be about Tech and his struggle with having been made into the shadow clone CX-2, but it was actually about Emerie (I'll get back to her in a bit). Even though we don't know exactly who that shadow clone is yet, I do think it could still be Tech. In episode 11 (plus 6 and 7) we saw a lot of hints towards Tech as we knew him in seasons 1 and 2; things like the way he spoke, his leg getting crushed, his flying, and his use of Cid and Phee to get to the others on Pabu. One thing that really stood out to me when he was on Phee's ship is the way he put his hands on the flight controls while downloading her data, almost like it was second nature to him, something familiar he did without thinking (I know this is a stretch but it really jumped out at me as a parallel to the countless scenes of Tech flying the Marauder, it just felt like him again). However there is a dark side to all of this. If CX-2 is Tech that means that:

Tech destroyed the Marauder; the ship that was a home and refuge for CF 99, both during the war and after the Empire took over. It was the one real constant they had in their lives and he would be the reason it's gone.

Tech destroyed peace on Pabu; a place where he and the others felt safe and grounded for the first time since Kamino. It also means he would be at least partly responsible for destroying the lives of everyone who helped and supported them in season 2 (CX-2 was ruthless in ep 11, they made that very clear).

Tech used Phee to accomplish all of this; a friend who trusted and cared about him and rest of the batch.

Tech would be the one who hunted down and eventually captured Omega, whatever that may mean in the future.

There are a lot of people who think that bringing Tech back would make his death meaningless, which I completely understand. Some characters should die and stay dead as a way of furthering the story and development of other characters. However, in this case I do think that revealing CX-2 to be a brainwashed Tech would have huge implications for the narrative. It would mean that one of their own was responsible for so much of the destruction we have seen this season, and that just because Crosshair resisted imperial experiments, does not mean that the others have similar abilities/plot protection. It would also bring immense emotional conflict into the rest of the season (however they might do it) and could be a deciding factor in the rest of the batch's fate; would they realize what he's done and treat him as the enemy, or would they see him and hesitate, possibly losing even more than they already have. Revealing Tech as the shadow clone would be incredibly dark, especially after all of the cruel and deliberate things he has done this season that contrast to the mild tempered and caring persona we previously knew (even if he didn't always show his feelings outright). While I do think there is a possibility that he is dead and not coming back, I definitely would not put it past the writers to do something so drastic as a way of adding to the season's narrative value with a conflicting and completely jarring revelation that would have so many significant implications for so many main characters. I did not mean for this post to be so long but let's keep going anyway.

Some other more general realizations I had:

As of right now, Hunter and Wrecker don't know that Omega was taken again. That said, we might not see them finding out and the next episode could definitely jump ahead like they have done with other significant moments like Crosshair's return.

Crosshair could be blamed for letting Omega give herself up and missing the shot to put a tracker on the ship, especially if they never see her again (but I'm choosing to believe that won't happen). There is no way Hunter wouldn't have something to say about that, even after they have mostly patched things up over the last few episodes. This also contributed to the tone of the episode 11 ending; he missed the shot, meaning they have no way of tracking her and are no closer to finding Tantiss. It was a very bleak note to end on in general, not at all like some hopeful purpose driven endings we have seen previously.

Just because Omega gave herself up does not mean that the Empire is going to leave Pabu intact. She distracted CX-2 by letting him take her back to Tantiss but the other troopers were still there, and I doubt they will just pack up and leave without a fight now that Omega is back in their control.

There are only 4 episodes left; what if they don't reveal CX-2's identity at all, and just leave us guessing (I still think there could be merit to the possibility of it being Cody or a Crosshair clone but that gets less likely every time we see him). Or worse, what if they keep hinting at it to make sure we know who he is, but never give us proof; instead just leaving us with the knowledge of what happened to Tech, and what he has done, without any other closure.

Ok let's talk about Emerie. I was definitely not expecting her to be the focus of Identity Crisis, but I thought that was a really interesting twist. We haven't seen her in a while so it was nice to get her perspective, and to get a better idea of what project Necromancer is all about (though I am still not totally sure where they are going with that so I'm reserving my judgments until later). As the title implies, she is definitely starting to question her place with Hemlock and the Empire, and I am also wondering how she is going to react to Omega being captured again, especially knowing what she knows now. I definitely think Emerie will be more sympathetic towards Omega's independence and desire to help the other clones. We might even see the two of them working together on a future escape attempt? Overall I enjoyed episode 10 and I am glad Emerie is finally getting her moment to contribute to the plot, especially after her importance was so obiously revealed in Crosshair's escape attempt during season 2.

I'm sorry this got so depressing but unfortunately I think that is what we can expect for the rest of the season unless something really unexpected happens. Also if you read that entire novel then thank you I swear I didn't think this post would be so long when I was writing down my thoughts earlier but here we are.

Here's the entire My Little Pony 2024 Franchise Overview presentation. This was originally distributed online in mid-June 2023, and we reported on it then, but there are a couple of details that didn't make it into the post.

Slides 2–4. Various random stats which are mostly not important or not properly contextualized. I have just a slight feeling that the stat on slide 3 implying that MLP is bigger than Barbie at the moment is cherrypicked.

Slides 5–6. Slide 6 is the first slide with specific data about Tell Your Tale viewers. It tells us that Tell Your Tale outperformed Make Your Mark on audience approval and toy purchase basket size, and that it outperformed other franchises on repeat toy purchase rate. There are a few more of these stats on slide 20.

Slides 7–9. Tell Your Tale Season 2 will be real, and will have four specials (the accompanying visuals don't seem to be related, other than the beach stuff for special 2). They didn't really explain what "hair play in every episode" or "more magical moments" will mean, although maybe the former is intended to encourage the purchase of toys.

Slides 10–12. This is basically a summary of things that have already been done within the MLP brand over the last few years. "LBE" means "location-based entertainment".

Slide 10 seems to indicate that there are about 7 songs left to be released in Tell Your Tale Season 1.

On slide 12, from left to right, the featured things are the VR book My Little Pony: Virtual Magic; the Sofia Carson-narrated Calm "sleep story"; the I Can Read Comics Level 1 book Sister Switch; the first issue of the G5 IDW comics; the MLP mascots at the Galaxyland theme park in Edmonton, Canada; a render of the lobby of the My Little Pony & Transformers Playlodge in Shanghai; and the "Flight to Equestria" ferris wheel at Galaxyland.

Slides 13–14. Mostly licensed merch, although the Izzy brushable on slide 14 still hasn't been seen anywhere other than this presentation.

Slide 15. Another indication that Make Your Mark won't get anything in 2024: the best they can say about it is that it will "live on Netflix" (i.e. won't be removed from Netflix), which was probably going to happen anyway.

Given the "new episodes weekly" statement, 328 minutes can be neatly divided into 4 22-minute episodes and 48 5-minute episodes, all for Tell Your Tale. Consistent episode lengths make sense for Hasbro, since they intend to license their shows out to TV networks with standard half-hour programming blocks.

"Linear and AVOD" probably refers to traditional TV channels and ad-supported free streaming sites. Some past MLP content is already available on "AVOD" sites such as Pluto TV.

It seems like G5 music will continue to have that generic pop sound.

It's implied that some of the video games shown will be updated in 2024. Maybe not all of them, though, since the MLP Roblox game (Visit Maretime Bay) was shut down in February 2023.

Slides 16–17. They want to grow viewership a lot and convert it to toy purchases. They call Tell Your Tale their "one & only ponable content series"; obviously, maintaining two ongoing animated shows would directly contradict this statement.

The Pipp, Misty, Sunny and Izzy brushables shown all seem to be new, as is the concept art for the accessories of the former three. The Izzy brushable is probably the same one as on slide 14.

Slide 18. They will do a bunch of promo stuff, including releasing a licensed console video game in Q3 2024. The first and third Tell Your Tale specials are to be the tentpole moments (i.e. big marketing focal points) of 2024.

Slides 19–20. Slide 20 features some more new stats on how well Tell Your Tale is performing; it has 177 million cumulative YouTube views, good repeat viewership and better repeat purchase rate than Make Your Mark.

This image is from a different presentation, "2023 Marketing Plans". This slide reveals the Secrets of Starlight logo for the fourth and final My Little Pony: Make Your Mark special.

The "album launch" could be referring to the My Little Pony Theme Song (Sped Up + lofi remixes) EP that was released today. Or maybe something else?

This slide is from the other presentation that was revealed, "Hasbro Brands Overview". It doesn't really reveal anything that wasn't previously known, although it does suggest that Bridlewoodstock will feature in more marketing content through the rest of the year.

Notes

Almost all of the text in the 2024 Franchise Overview presentation is shown in the Calibri font. It doesn't seem like it was originally intended to be that way, and I think it might be due to custom fonts not being loaded properly by whoever converted the presentation to PDF. In spite of this issue, the presentation is likely genuine, evidenced by the high quality images embedded in it, including a shot from a future Tell Your Tale episode on slide 8.

Slides 15 and 18 both note that future plans are subject to change. However, it's probably somewhat unlikely that Hasbro could return to Make Your Mark in 2024. Even if they were to commission more Make Your Mark episodes right now, and could justify the budget for it, it would probably still take more than a year before the first episodes could be completed. I could be wrong about this, but there's nothing to suggest that it would be in the interest of Hasbro, Netflix, Atomic Cartoons or anyone else (except maybe the fans) for Make Your Mark to be renewed after 2023.

While the TYT Audience Report and MLP Shopper Analysis by AIM & We Are Family both seem to be focused on 2- to 8-year-old girls, it's not necessarily an indication that Hasbro is focused solely on this demographic – they might just be the most lucrative demographic, or the one whose analysis produced the best numbers to show to Hasbro's investors and partners.

Okay, I have some thoughts.

If you enjoyed Season 7, that's cool, I'm happy for you. If you intend to play Season 8, that's cool, I hope you find some enjoyment from it.

But holy hell, Fusebox. Maybe S8 will be good - people keep saying it's all the even seasons that are better (although I still maintain S1 is one of the best as far as the writing, though it does lack in other ways - but first try gets a pass), at least as far as enjoyment and good characters.

But here's the thing. Season 6 had its issues for sure, and we loved to complain about certain aspects of it, but the characters were generally great and a lot of us enjoyed it for that.

But no sooner was it over than S7 was announced. We didn't have time to soak in what S6 was, to let the characters live in our heads rent free, to start missing the game and thinking about what we wanted from the next season. I remember between S2 and S3 there was so much hype because people couldn't wait for more content, every day there were memes on the Fusebox sub from people dying for information. Releasing S7 so quickly on the heels of S6 made it less exciting because people didn't have a chance to yearn for it.

And now they're doing the same thing with S8, because with AI they can just pump out content. We all know it's to get as much money as possible (whether from the few suckers paying for gems or from ad revenue), but it's a great way to actually kill people's interest in the game. Hardly anyone talked about S7 after awhile, partly because the season was boring, but partly because of oversaturation of content. Sometimes you can have too much.

It's just like the show. When it's once a year, everyone gets excited for it. The winter seasons? Meh. So then the ratings for the winter season were low, and then the people who watched the winter season were burnt out and didn't watch the summer season. They're diluting their fanbase and killing their own ratings by making too much content while also not finding ways to make it fresh and exciting (being a CA girl was an attempt, but it ultimately fell flat).

Do yourselves a favour and stop rushing to put out new content every few months that's AI-generated, and take your time to create something good written by actual humans. Please.

Personally, I deleted the app the moment I'd finished today's episodes. Unless something at Fusebox changes, I have no intention of downloading it again.

Fannish Year Review - 2023

1. Your main fandom of the year: TXF always. Although I’ve taken a break from actually watching the show since I finished my rewatch and I’m at a low eb of reading fanfic, tumblr keeps my fandom needs fed. It’s the show I think about every single day whether I’m actively watching or not.

2. Your favorite film this year: If we’re talking new films then Barbie and Are You There God, It’s Me Margaret were my favorite ones I saw in theaters. Barbie was just such a delight and fun theater going experience. Are You There God was such a sweet, well done adaptation.

3. Your favorite book this year: Again, if we’re talking new (to me) books then Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin. I’ve never really had much interest in video games so I was surprised how much it sucked me in. Plus I read it on vacation in Puerto Rico so extra points for the experience of reading under an umbrella on a beautiful beach eating ice cream out of a pineapple.

4. Your favorite album or song this year: I just looked on Spotify and I don’t think I downloaded a new album or created a new playlist this year 🙈

5. Your favorite tv shows this year: The third season of Happy Valley - all the time and history that can make a conversation between family members the most nail biting, tension filled, heartbreaking scenes. Reservation Dogs - I caught up just in time for the final season and I’m so glad I finally watched it. I watched some old shows too that I missed for whatever reason and we’re the perfect evening soaps to put on when I needed a break after work - Felicity, Switched at Birth.

6. Your favorite tumblr community this year: I don’t really interact with anyone outside of txf community lol

hi jenna gif questions for u 💜 what's your favorite part of making gifs? what's the most valuable thing/tip/trick you've learned? what's some of your favorite gif sets you've made?

hi ida!!!! sorry i took a couple days to answer this i wanted to wait until i had some time to think about it before i answer! i loooove these questions tho so thank you so much for sending them 💜💜

my favorite part about making gifs is probably coloring and like...that moment when i get the gif to look exactly how i want it to. i like to play around with coloring and try a lot of different things with it and that can be so fun! i think over the last like 6-8 months my coloring has really improved a lot and i've been having a lot of fun learning new ways to do things! but i actually had a really hard time coming up with an answer for this question because i mostly enjoy the entire process! the only part that i don't really enjoy is picking out the frames for each gif. i always start with way too many and then i have to cut stuff out and i hate that part. also it's reaaally hard sometimes to not end up with like 20 gifs cause there's so much i want to include!!!

okay im gonna cheat on this one and give a few things i've learned since i started that have been sooooo valuable to me. first is the importance of having a good quality download to start with. i think my gifs got significantly better when i finally downloaded all of the episodes in 1080p instead of using the screen recording on netflix like i had been before. second sharpening is so important! i did not do any sharpening on my first gifs i made! sharpening makes the gifs loook sooo sharp and crisp and pretty. third and kind of similar to sharpening was learning/figuring out how to use the camera raw filter. there's sooooo much you can do with camera raw filter (coloring sharpening lightening). and finally one thing i learned that i think made my coloring look significantly better was to try not to lighten the gif too much and/or to figure out ways to lighten darker gifs without it messing up the background too much (sometimes when they're lightened too much it will like pixelate the background and it looks awful)

Bloody Dean Throughout the Seasons Set - this one actually came out really good considering the fact that it was made only a month after i first started making gifs! if i remember correctly it's the first set that i ever used sharpening on.

6x20 F+TM King Set - this one is a favorite mostly just because i love the song so much and tmwwbk is one of my favorite episodes. i think some of my favorite sets to make are the ones that i add lyrics to.

2022 Nov 5th Set - i was really happy with how this one came out! it's so hard to get gifs from episodes over different seasons to look the same! and this one had gifs from 12 different seasons! also i think this was the first set i ever made that got over 1000 notes which i remember being really excited about!

Laughing Dean Set - this one is a favorite purely based on the content of the set. it feels like injecting serotonin every time i look at it<3

1x12 Faith Set - another one based on the content of the set. i just love this episode so much.

Season 9 Dean Set - i LOVE the coloring in this set! and season 9 dean is so beloved to me. he is just so beautiful and bloody and sad.

2023 Cas Day Set - another f+tm lyric set! i love the space overlay that i added and the blue-pink of the coloring so much!

4x18 Destiel Every Episode Set - i loooove this scene so much! this gif series has by far been more popular than any of the other gifs that i post and this set is definitely the most popular in the series. no other set has ever even come close to getting 4k notes like this one did. also i really like the purple coloring a lot<3

top 10 reasons why i think julia should be a pre-merge boot next season

⚠️warning: some may find the following content disturbing. julia fans' discretion is advised

it'd piss off her fans

she's overused her potential and hogged a lot of unnecessary screentime. her schtick as a villain is extremely overpraised especially when the main twist in ep 6 that marked her first significant accomplishment didnt even make sense. you're telling me that somehow, from hearing someone say one single word, she went through all the possibilities (including overhearing a confessional from the outside) and concluded that someone was downloading the confessionals?? despite no one knowing about mk's geek persona in addition to it never having been accomplished in the history of the show before? really? they could've at least had more interesting buildup to that twist, and have julia's "clues" actually have substance because otherwise the writing was very flimsy

she's not that complex of a character canonically. it may be difficult to hear but it's objectively true

it'd piss off her fans

her villain persona is just straight up being a bully about things that arent related to the game at all. it's laughable that people call her heather 2.0 when heather certainly had a personality past being an asshole and nothing else. "but we need more mean women in media!" julia fans also hate MK and millie for that exact reason! be consistent about it.

the pre-merge boot order this season was nasty. every single pre-merge boot had potential, even more so than julia (whose personality could immediately be guessed the moment her design was released. whoop-de-doo!)... i'd like more time for dynamic characters next season and not static ones.

julia's twist was very predictable. her entire character is predictable. she's the character everyone thinks they relate to while in reality they're more of a millie. but who's surprised that people prefer the skinny white tiktok girl over the most realistically written character in the show

with all her canon screentime in the show, she's developed very little. i think it's unfair to have her be a screen hog a second season in a row when she already had her time to shine and hardly did anything unique with it. we finally get the most diverse cast this show has seen and yet everyone wants more of the most boring type of character we've already seen in 700 other shows

seriously i don't get why people think she's all that. just step outside for a moment and you'll find an entire sea of people who are exactly like her, in both appearance and personality. calling her the best villain in the history of td is ridiculous and laughable and even mal was more entertaining for me to watch. at least he was funny

1. What ship were you completely obsessed with when you were a teenager, but now you don't care anymore?

I didn't really have a fixed ship to hang my hat on in those days (aka the before the internet tiemz), but Buffy and Pike (movie BTVS) were the main couple I fixated on back then (still was figuring out why movie Lestat and Louis made me feel funny in my tummy at that time, so Buffy and Pike were the easier option LOL)

2. Which ship would you consider your first one?

Roz and Dan from Night Court; I was 7 and I wanted them married and arguing until the end of time <3

3. Your first fanfic belonged to which couple?

(hops in the wayback machine) Pretty sure I was writing for Greg/Nick (CSI) just a bit before Ennis/Jack (Brokeback). Still so very thankful that those four introduced me to friends I'd still have in my life 20 years later!

4. Do you remember the first couple you saw a fanart over?

I very clearly remember the Spangel fanvids that took more than day to download from our AOL dialup, yes XD

5. Did you ever get into ship discourse?

Attempting to nail jello to a tree would be a far more productive use of my time.

Can't say anything comes to mind, really.

7. Who were the couple in the last fanfic you read?

Had to go through my AO3 history, last time I had a clear enough head to attempt to read anything was early autumn last year (oof) and it was a modern AU of Jiang Cheng and Nie Huaisang that I don't think I finished because I really can't recall any of it. Ah, well.

8. Currently, do you have any OTPs?

Since I can't engage in fic it's hard for me to keep hold of the newer ships, so my brain tends to fall back on old reliables- Loustat/Loumand being at the top at this very moment because the fandom's waking up again for season 2 in May.

9. Is there any couple that, to this day, you are extremely mad about not getting together?

Another one that I can't think of anything.

10. Is there any ship you used to dislike but now you think they are kind of interesting?

Not Really, if I hated them then I'm sure I still hate them now. (keeping your answer here, Eboni, because same)

I'd be cancelled over any ship at any time for anything, such is the nature of this goofball puritanical mindset that has taken over fandom socmed. (I know the problem reaches so much further than that, but I'm not clearheaded enough to write a dissertation LOL)

12. What was your favorite crack ship?

Can't say I've ever had one.

13. Who is the couple you read more fanfics of?

20+ years ago I was slowly killing copious amounts of trees and our at-home printer with Spangel fics that I didn't want to lose (have since lost all of the printouts, and the fics are still online in their respective webrings, yikes) So yeah, Spangel would probably still win. Ennis/Jack, and Wangxian would round out the top three, I'm sure.

14. What most of your ships usually have in common?

Bastard-coated bastards, pastel/goth, grumpy/sunshine.

15. What do you absolutely hate in a ship?

Drawing a blank here. Though, I will have a harder time engaging if the source material is mainly written in 1st person POV, which is why I'd be considered a fake Vampire Chronicles fan XD (forever thankful for my friends that actually read the books and school me on what I don't know)

While technically no longer a driver, James Hinchcliffe, known as Hinch, is still an integral part of the field. 2019 ESPN Body Issue Controversy? Rumor has it that Arrow disapproved of James baring it all and this contributed to him being 'relieved of his duties.' James remained under contract for 2020, under which he was required to be with the team on race weekends and make sponsor appearances, but was free to pursue other opportunities. Hinch often referred to himself as the class clown of Indycar while he was a driver, bringing his slightly irreverent sense of humor out as often as he could. ...I think i'm like sort of in love w my good friend or idk maybe I just really value and miss our connection? august brings nostalgia, breeds confusion, and reminiscences become saccharine. the last fruit of the season, an overripe peach or piece of melon, and like wow its so sweet, but maybe it's too sweet? I am not really the type to do anything about really liking someone...I'm not sure if this is my personality or something else...I like a connection that feels just right and I guess fear of losing means I'll pace in the same spot smiling with my hands in my pockets instead of declaring what I'm feeling. I'd rather use the feeling for a song or something. One time this friend and I were close enough to kiss and we leaned in but it was strange. I felt what may have been resistance and I recoiled. In the moment I remembered someone telling me I don't kiss softly enough and I felt like they were going to say something. Then we pulled apart and I awkwardly closed the door and heard them shuffling down the stairs like a kid would...funny, I remember they were wearing their backpack and I really wanted to say "whats in the rucksack? ;)." Another time we were both awake at 3 am after hanging out that evening and we ended up watching the same movie. Compartment No. 6. the torrent I downloaded was from this Russian site and all the bad words were bleeped out with a really simple quiet beep, like a small school bell ringing. One time we waited in the rain smoking cigarettes they took from their boss and I looked at them and my gaze instantly softened. I felt like I was on drugs and I had only had one drink. It's been a really long time since we've been in the same room together and I guess I feel so sad about that. Sad, and I'm just generally really happy I know them...trying to feel my feelings more and I guess this is what I'm feeling

1.) What’s your favourite sims death? When you have a pool on your sim’s property no matter the season they go to lounge there and freeze to death because of their own stupidity. 😭

2.) Alpha CC or Maxis Match? I’m a alpha girl, but I really like both styles! IDK when you get down to it, they both reflect a ‘art style’ to me. Like have you tried to make a MM sim alpha or a alpha sim MM? There’s work involved in that to make it look right!

3.) Do you cheat when your sims gain weight? Honestly it depends lmao I make my sims high on the weight scale, even the skinny sims, so their bodies look natural. There’s been times where I’ve had to slightly tweak their hips or stomach width so a cc top doesn’t look strange and bulky. 😑😑 But when I play the game everyone is bound to gain weight and I don’t take certain characters to the gym as much as I should. 😂😂

4.) Do you use move objects?  Uh yeah.

5.) Favorite mod?  Before High School Days was a thing, I really loved the plumfruit mod by Arnie. 😍 There was also a hair styling mod I downloaded that’s pretty fun and effective for doing quick townie makeovers. Beyond that as a storyteller I owe my life to MC Command Center and TOOL annnd wickedwhims for more intimate scenes.  

6.) First expansion/game/stuff pack you got? I literally don’t remember, but it was probably city living because I had the first version of Sal and Eve living in San Myshuno.

7.) Do you pronounce “live mode” like aLIVE or LIVing?  a-LIVE. 8.) Who’s your favorite sim that you’ve made?  I love all of my sims!!

But even with that said it took me like, two days to get Pietro’s face and nose right. I hunted for certain facial details for him!! So I’m proud of him right now.  9.) Have you made a simself? I literally do nothing with my simself but she does indeed exist (images were taken long before Sink or Swim)

10.) What sim traits do you give yourself? I don’t even remember. That’s how rarely I am on her. 😂

11.) Which is your favorite EA hair color? Dark Brown probably

12.) Favorite EA hair? The one with the -- you know -- jk I really do enjoy the hairs EA has been whipping out lately even though I don’t use them. 

13.) Favorite life stage?  Gameplay wise I love playing as kids and teens, coming up with all sorts of Elementary and High School drama 😂😂 I love playing with big family dynamics in general. it’s crazy because I don’t feature any kids or teens in my stories but one day!! one day!!

You are clearly writing this from the point of view of a main character who was already forced into an explicitly romantic relationship with a male character. I think the female love interests should give us an out of the male routes.

Your idea is similar to what the writers did in season 6. The Casa was a chance for us to deepen our connection with female LIs and to get to know them. Instead, the female LIs focused their attention on the Casa boys so they could give MC a chance to spend time with the boys herself. I felt like none of the female LIs was invested in MC. They didn't think that their relationship with MC was worth fighting for and they kept their options open. It was so hurtful. I had no interest in the boys. I had to skip a date after dare while waiting for the female LI to look in MC's direction. I kept waiting for the female LI to steal a kiss or to ask MC out on secret date. All other players could get to spend time with their LIs, and I had to watch as the girl that I liked picked shared special moments with another person. All other players had multiple love interests to pick from, and they could enjoy the boys' attention. I wasn't allowed to couple up with the girl that I liked in the girl's choice recoupling.

I'd assume that sapphic players either wouldn't feel like switching once they have built such an intense bond with a male character or they wouldn't want to be forced into a relationship with a male character to begin with.

It doesn't seem fair to take away the only opportunity that we have to develop a romantic relationship with the girls that we are into. I wouldn't want to feel like none of the sapphic female characters are interested in the MC. You're writing this fix-it arc with the presumption that all sapphic players would prefer the male characters. I apologize, but I don't think that's accurate.

I actually really like this ask. Well, it's less of an ask and more of a full on statement but I love it.

Okay, firstly, who the fuck actually told you that sapphic players weren't forced into male relationships? Because they lied so hard from my experience. I can't remember when Talia became an option in S1, Marisol and Elisa aren't an option until around day 20 or so, I can't remember either, S3 and S4 are the only ones where it doesn't feel too horrible with Aj for S3 being an option on I think day 3? And Najuma being an option early game too in S4. S5, forget it. Dana is a horrible LI. And I'm pretty sure Lulu and Gabi aren't until the last recoupling, and the same can be said about S7 with Bella, Chloe and Flo.

So, yeah, wlw routes are the biggest pain ever for us players who want to experience one.

So first things first, fr this time, and this is my fault, but the quoted part is actually from the female love Interest. I don't know if you've read that wrong, or if I've just done a terrible job at saying who's saying that, OR if you actually know that already and I'm just really stupid, but the "you are clearly writing this from the point of view of a main character who was already forced into an explicitly romantic relationship with a male character." SO yeah, apologies if I have that wrong. But, also, please don't state the fact that I clearly meant something when it's more or less up to interpretation for anyone reading.

The way I see it, it's more the female LI thinking she doesn't really have a chance with MC, like you've stated with S6, but instead of her doing nothing about it, she actually approaches the MC and explains to her the reasoning as to why she's only just approached now.

That's always why this would be a mid season scene so that they've had enough time to get to know each other and actually form something meaningful etc etc.

Now I PERSONALLY don't like really pushy characters. Especially love interests. So when, during something like S6 where Elliot says how we might change our mind even if we've stated that our heart is elsewhere. So I wanted this to not feel like that by basically turning the LI into a Bonnie. So it's not that they don't think the relationship is worth fighting for, it's just that there's a difference between fighting and insufferable. And I wouldn't want the LI to come across as insufferable.

Now the next thing was the secret dates and kisses part. And whilst I do think that's a cool idea, and technically could be added, the post was specifically friends to lovers as well. I'm sorry if I should've stated that in the title, but that's just my favourite trope and I think it works well for wlw. But back to the secret part, though we technically got that in S2 with Gary if you go after him, I just find it a little uncomfortable. It feels a bit cheaty in a way, and I really, and I mean REALLY despise cheaters. And I mean especially if MC's partner likes her and she goes behind their back, it feels wrong. I think some secret flirtation would be borderline okay, but something more? Nope. The date part could technically be hidden with LI saying they just wanna hangout and class it as a date to themselves, but I wouldn't want that.

Now the wouldn't want to switch, or don't want to be in a forced relationship with a man. Totally respectable, but I think I'd add in an option to be a friendship couple only. Additional dialogue to say "oh, by the way, I'm not really feeling this but I like you as a person, so can we just be friends?" and that solves one issue. And the whole "wouldn't want to switch" that's why we have multiple playthroughs.

In Season 4, I literally had to wait until the very end to get with Angie. I had a good relationship with James, and I actually really liked him, but I said "hell no, Angie's worth it" so maybe I just don't have that issue of being too attached to male characters when I'm trying to do a wlw route.

And for the final part, I just wanna add that that was only ONE female character as a potential LI. If I were making this game, I'd add around four to five, and have multiple of them in the villa at the same time. The friends to lovers route at the start, maybe then day 6 bombshell who really wants MC because apparently people like that, then some before casa amor, and then one during casa or after.

There are so many personalities you can give these women to fit everyone's preferences. And I was just stating mine and how I would fix them. So, in reality, by day 6ish, if this were the case, you'd have at least one female LI that's explicitly stated to show interest in MC. And then OG female LI can start showing it a little more now that she's worried about losing MCs interest if that's what you wanna believe.

See, there are so many possibilities with these, and I just happened to pick one. I'm actually going to write multiple of these for each different kind of female LI I'd want.

And finally, I can't lie, I have no fucking idea where you came up with the part of "all sapphic players would prefer the male characters." If it's from the quote you used in your ask, which again I'll just say that that was the Female LI talking, then I still don't understand.

That part was meant to imply that the LI THINKS you like/love a different person, and the gender stated is male for simplicity since most of the time you are coupled up with a guy and I had only just started thinking about how I'd want these wlw routes to be like.

She THINKS that you would prefer him when in reality you can just be like "Oh, no, LI, I like you." Or smth like that, I didn't really have the time to come up with a response for that.

Hope that cleared up some things. I just wanna remind you that you are free to have your own opinion and stuff, just as I am, so if you disagree with how I'd like one of the wlw routes then that's a-okay. Thanks for the ask though
