[1] First meeting
Magic has existed in New Orleans for as long as anyone can remember. The prevalence of voodoo-- NOLA's most giant "tourist trap"-- originated in 1791 with enslaved West Africans who moved to Louisiana to grow a community for as many free people of color. That spirit meant that many of its inhabitants descended from that original society or were drawn here for its magical properties. Your family was one of the latter, a bunch of witches seeking solace in a place that nurtured it. Except with magic came strife, and eventually, other creatures came knocking at the door. Enter the Mikaelsons, New Orlean's resident vampire family that was always at the center of whatever drama was happening. Right now, something involving all those magically oriented.
You made it a point to stay clear of the fight. Not because you didn't care– you did– but because it wasn't your fight to be had. That's how you stayed alive in this neighborhood; you knew where to stick your nose and when to stay clear. Besides, all the commotion with one of the Harvest girls (Cassie, you believe her name was) and the witch's distaste of vampires meant tensions were high. You could help the community from the background anyway; you didn't need to make yourself known.
At least, that's what you hoped. But things rarely turned out how you wanted, and this was one of those times. Walking through the back streets of NOLA was never an excellent idea, but it was shorter, and you just wanted to get to the metaphysical supply store before it closed. You needed more laurel leaves to create protection charms around your house, especially with the uptake in strife in the recent year.
Which is how you came upon a witch killing three vampires in the alley.
You wanted to turn on your heel and leave, but the witch noticed you before you could. You didn't recognize him, so you were unsure what coven he belonged to. He was tall enough to probably tower over you, with golden curly hair and a jaw sharp enough to cut your fingers if you touched it. He was unbelievably handsome, and you hated that it caught your breath.
"You shouldn't be here, luv," he crooned, his English accent thick. He sauntered down the alley, coming up to you with narrowed eyes.
"I don't recognize you," you countered, shifting your weight as you crossed your arms. It's best not to let him know that you're flustered.
"New in town," he smiled, a cocky grin that told you that he absolutely knew the effect he had on women. It left a bad taste in your mouth. "New Orleans is a big city; I'm surprised you would know everyone."
"I know witches," you said, peering up at him.
"Ah, are you a magical thing yourself?"
"What do you think?" You arched a brow. He stepped closer, reaching up to twirl a piece of your hair around his finger. You recoiled slightly but didn't pull back. Never show fear; that's one thing this town taught you.
"I think you're a pretty young thing," he hummed. "I'm Kol." He peered at you as if waiting for you to offer your name. You didn't.
"Not interested," you pulled back from him, letting the hair he had touched fall back in front of your face. He stepped back into your space.
"I don't know, darling," he smiled, leaning closer so his breath fanned your face. It was minty like he had just had an Altoid. "I think you're interested." You hated admitting that this tall, handsome stranger (such a cliche) was right. And you really hated that if you leaned up slightly, you could feel the warmth from his lips. He stepped back, though, hands in his pockets. The same hands that had used magic to wrangle the undead life of the vampires behind him. You took that as a sign to start to leave, walking backward before turning on your heel and ignoring the gaze of the witch behind you.
"Never got your name!" He chimed. You smiled to yourself.
"Figure it out yourself."
[2] Cemetery watch
Disgruntled. That's how you felt. Chaos had grown over the past weeks, but you didn't see Kol again. A sliver of disappointment, as you did find him cute, but also a relief. You know enough flirtatious bastards to not want to add more to your life.
You weren't thinking about him today, though. You were thinking about your grandmother, who lived in the cemetery right outside your block. A popular cemetery for Wiccan rituals, it made sense for your grandma (the high priestess of your family) to be buried there with heavy praise.
You were laying a combination of roses, lavender, and rosemary for protection when the hair on your neck stood up. Feeling a presence, you soon turn around, making eye contact with the stranger who approached you.
Definitely not a witch; his aura was too dark for that. He was tall, with tousled brown hair and eyes that lingered on you for far too long. He was cute, though, even if he was dangerous.
"Hello darling," he purrs, stalking closer.
"Can I help you?" You sigh, crossing your arms as you peer at him with suspicion. He wears a cocky smile and a look that tells you he would love to have a taste.
"Don't remember me? I'm hurt," he puts a hand on his chest, feigning pain. You look at him closely, but the only recognition is in the pet name. Darling. Not many people called you darling.
"Kol," you said. "You're shorter." His face had a hint of shock before settling into amusement.
"That was uncalled for," he laughed, walking closer to you. In closer proximity, you could see that he was, in fact, very handsome, and he was definitely aware of that.
"I'm reiterating my previous question, can I help you?"
"When my family sent me on this mission to track down the 'wisest witch in the quarter,' I was not expecting you," he looked down at you with gold-flecked eyes. "The beautiful girl who wouldn't give me her name. Except now I know it's Y/N."
"I thought you were a witch," you took a hesitant step back, trying to create space.
"Temporarily," he sighed. "Now I'm back in my original form of vampire." The way he said it gave you pause, as if he was resigned to the fact but not happy about it. You could relate. If you lost your magic, you would be devastated.
"You said something about your family?" you coughed, changing the subject.
"There's someone working against them, and we would prefer if they don't kill us," Kol shoved his hands in his pockets, looking up at the clouds above. "People tend to hate us, Mikaelsons."
"You're a Mikaelson?" you hissed. It was because of the Mikaelsons your home was in constant disaster. "Why should I help you? Any of you?"
"For the most part, we don't want to cause trouble. It just tends to find us. Helping eliminate a threat means fewer problems in the quarter," Kol sighed, stepping closer. His fingers brushed your cheek, delicate as if touching the grass in a meadow. "Also, you'd get to spend time with me."
"Why would I want to spend time with you?" you breathed, voice wavering slightly. Curse your damn hormones for being swayed by a vampire of all creatures. His thumb came under your chin, allowing him to bring your face closer to his. Kol smelled like fresh snow and evergreens, and you knew that if he leaned a little bit closer, you wouldn't stop him. In the process, likely offend the ghost of your grandmother who was probably rolling her eyes at you right now. Before you could offend all the ancestors with your choices, Kol stepped back, resuming his cocky grin and leaving your breath lodged in your throat. Without a second thought of the implications, you made your decision.
"Fine, I'll help you."
[3] Late night spell-casting
Late nights in the Mikaelson compound meant one thing. Coffee, and lots of it.
You made a deal with the Mikaelsons after you agreed to help them that in exchange for your time, they had to buy you cafe drinks whenever you liked it. Elijah was the most taken aback, but Kol chuckled as if he found you amusing. Still, they found it a small price, not expecting how much you valued your drinks. Most nights, it was coffee, sometimes tea, or even hot cocoa. Quite honestly, you just liked having the power to make them run around.
You sat at one of their many couches, a book of shadows in your lap and a notepad in your hands as you made quick notes about possible spells that could combat the evil at hand. A couple of ideas swam in your head, but you wanted to exhaust your options before risking anyone else's life with a botched spell. Still, you had been at it for hours and started getting sleepy. You yawned, feeling your eyes close slightly. Thankfully, footsteps alerting you to the presence of one of the originals had you sitting up and shaking off your fatigue. Unfortunately, that original was Kol with your coffee order.
Kol was precisely what you thought he would be. Flirtatious, cocky, impulsive, and too attractive for his own good. You hated when murderers were cute; it made life confusing. There were moments, though, when the two of you were performing recon or pouring over spell books that you saw a side of him that only showed when his guard wasn't up. He was calmer, more academic, and a lot more unsure of himself. The only thing you hated about seeing that side is it made you like him more.
"How's my witchling doing?" he chimed, dropping off your coffee and settling beside you on the couch. You told him that being called darling felt ridiculous, so instead, he found a new nickname, which was even worse.
"The usual, I suppose," you yawned again, leaning your head against the back of the couch.
"Take a break."
"You realize it's your life on the line, right?" you huffed, turning to look at him.
"My life will always be in danger, Y/N," Kol hummed, taking your books out of your lap with a minor protest from you. "That's not going to change tonight."
"Don't underestimate me," you grabbed your cup, taking a deep sip and looking at him over the lid.
"I would never underestimate you," he grabbed your coffee and stole a sip himself, earning a growl from you. "Half the things you say shock and confuse me."
"It's my charm."
"Let's do something fun," Kol stood up, trying to drag you with him. "Research is bloody boring."
"We have two very different ideas of 'fun,' Mikaelson," you curled up into a ball on the couch, peering up at him through heavy-lidded eyes. An idea sparked in your head, and you turned a devilish smile to the brunette. "How about tarot cards?"
You found an old deck in the compound, creating a space on the table in the central area to lay out the spread. Even though having your cards would be better, you thought you could probably make do with these. You gave Kol the cards to shuffle and watched as he spent meticulous time connecting with the cards before handing the deck back to you. You started laying out the cards on the table, forming a cross with four cards separate on the side. You tucked your legs underneath you, curling up on the floor so you were huddled by the table. Kol joined you, his back against the couch as he peered at you straightening up the cards.
"You realize you're going to flip them over, right?"
"Shut up, Mikaelson," you chimed, finishing your organization. He watched you with a small smile, and you made the effort to ignore his stare. "We'll start with your Present card."
“Boring,” Kol sing-songed. "Tell me my future."
"I have to go in order, to give an accurate reading."
"Darling, the cards are already laid out; you can do whatever you want," Kol leaned closer to you, squinting his eyes in amusement. "I live my life in futures; who cares about the past?"
Sighing, you decided to obey the nosey vampire and flip over his cards for Future and Near Future. The two cards revealed were the Lovers and Ace of Cups, respectively.
"In your Future is a strong romantic relationship," you start, pointing out the Lovers card featuring two swans intertwined. "This correlates to the Ace of Cups, which signifies new beginnings. Since the Ace of Cups is in your near future, you'll likely encounter someone you'll soon develop a deep, long-lasting relationship with." You turn your eyes to Kol, raising an eyebrow. "Shocking, considering your personality."
"It's not that shocking," Kol quipped, leaning closer to you. "We're here, aren't we?"
His pupils were enlarged as he gazed upon you, and his glance to your lips told you exactly where his mind was. You couldn't deny you weren't thinking the same thing. It didn't help that Kol was dangerous in an enticing way. Ignoring all rational thought, you leaned in closer, nudging his nose with yours. Your heart was beating erratically, and you heard the sharp intake of breath he took. His fingers traced up your arm, each finger leaving goosebumps in their wake. What were you doing?
"How's the research going?" a voice called from the hallway. You scooted away immediately, but Kol stayed where he was. His jaw clenched as he suppressed a growl. Freya appeared, not aware of the situation and probably not caring anyway.
"I have a few ideas," you coughed, taking a deep breath to calm your beating heart.
"Great, I'd love to hear them so I can stop having stressful dreams," Freya chuckled, moving over to the couch. You sent Kol a glance as you passed your journal to Freya. The look he gave you told you that what started wasn't over. And the worst part was you didn't want it to be over.
[4] Injured after a fight
A headache. That's what you were nursing.
A sharp ringing pierced through your ears, the lights above you blurring into a bad abstract painting. A figure appeared above you, and you slowly registered that it was calling your name. You squinted your eyes, the action causing a splitting pain as the shape of Kol formed in front of you. Worry creased his brows, and blood splattered his face.
"Y/N, Y/N, can you hear me?" Kol asked, cradling your head. You nodded, grabbing his arms to help pull yourself up. Chaos was erupting around you, and the stifling smell of magic was enough to knock you out again. That's what had happened. It was an ambush, and despite your abilities, you were blasted back into a wall, probably with a concussion and broken bones. It was times like this when you were envious of a vampire's healing skills. "I need to get you out of here."
"They need our help," you grimaced, catching Klaus ripping off someone's arms in the background. Kol caught your gaze and bothered with a slight smirk.
"I'm sure Nik is fully capable of handling himself. Plus, my other siblings are here, and Freya called Vincent. They won't miss us."
"I'll be fine," you tried to say, but it ended in a wheeze as the effort of sitting up caused pain in your lungs.
"You will not. Can you stand?" Kol watched you struggle for a second before picking you up. In a normal situation, you would've complained, but considering all you felt was ow ow ow ow ow you thought better than to complain. You wrapped your arms around his neck, holding on tightly as he sped out of the scene and back to the compound. Kol laid you gently on the couch, kneeling before you, biting into his wrist and holding it to your lips. "You need to drink."
"I don't want to be a vampire," you mumbled, brushing a hand across your forehead. Your fingers held blood on them, and you became dizzy with that knowledge.
"I won't let that happen now, drink," Kol insisted, his voice having a hard edge. Considering he was a stubborn bastard, you relented. You hesitantly grabbed his wrist and brought it up to your mouth. The blood slid down your throat cleanly, but you had to suppress the urge to gag anyway since it was blood. You felt your bones click into place, and your headache dull to a memory. You finally looked up, catching Kol's gaze on you. How was it intensely erotic to have someone watch you drink their blood? There must be therapy for issues like this, but you didn't really care. How he looked at you was akin to a predator waiting to devour its next meal. You knew if you let him, he would fulfill every potential vampire fantasy one could have. He touched your cheek, touching your lips where his blood was just a second ago. He pulled away, red coating his fingers, and you suppressed a groan when he sucked the leftover blood.
"Kol," you whispered, your voice raspy. He sat up at eye level, leaning down as if to kiss you. Of course, things weren't that easy, as his family burst into the compound right at that moment. You wanted to let out a scream of frustration but ended up being caught off guard by Klaus dropping a head by the entryway.
"Glad to see our little witch is okay," Klaus chimed, looking pretty proud of himself. If Kol were a cartoon character, he'd blow smoke out of his ears.
"I'm alive," you sighed. Klaus walked over, ignoring his brother's glares, and patted you on the shoulder. That was the closest thing to the affection you were getting from the hybrid. As the rest of the family delved into a conversation about the ambush, you finally got up and looked at the original kneeling on the ground before you. "We'll finish this later," you smiled, pretending to ignore the slight growl that left Kol's mouth as you walked off.
[5] Evil has passed
"I thought you would've left."
Kol stood in the entryway of his bedroom at the Mikaelson home while you stood (guilty) by his bookshelf.
"I was returning this book I borrowed from you," you said innocently. Putting the book back on the shelf, you turned to the man before you, trying his best to plaster on a convincing smile. The threat has passed, your job was over, and yet you were melancholy. These people had caused problems throughout your home since they arrived, yet your temporary alliance ending was something of sadness. You were tired of pretending it was for any reason other than Kol. Kol started as an annoying individual who sought to drive you up the wall, but now was someone you saw a kinship with. Your long talks on history and adventures across the globe were moments where you saw his guard fall, and you loved every second of it. It helped that he was pretty to look at.
"I guess this means goodbye then, doesn't it witchling?" Kol sighed, shoving his hands in his jeans pockets. You could swear he sounded disappointed, but you didn't want to get your hopes up.
"Depends," you crossed your arms. "I could be persuaded to come back."
"Persuaded?" Kol inquired, that mischievous glint in his eyes telling you he would ensure a way to keep you around. "Any particular reason?"
"If someone wanted me around, I guess," you smiled, a tiny grin but good enough for Kol to stroll towards you until he towered over your figure.
"I'll give you a good reason," Kol murmured, a devilish smirk on his lips. "Something that we kept getting interrupted for in the past." He cupped your face in his hands, lowering his lips so they were a hairsbreadth from yours.
"Don't be a tease," you breathed. Letting out a dark chuckle, he pressed his lips to yours. It was surprisingly light, not hungry like his usual personality. He tasted like a fresh snowstorm and an evergreen forest, and you know you could get drunk on that alone. Wrapping your arms around his torso, you brought him closer to you, deepening the kiss and earning a light groan from the vampire. Kol's hands tangled in your hair, one of them going to hold your waist. Every touch of his was coldfire, and you were so glad that you were finally alone to burn in him. He tilted your head back, leaving open-mouthed kisses along your throat that caused you let out a moan. He nipped the junction of your neck and shoulder, kissing over it until he was back at your lips again, leaving a searing kiss. Kol pulled away, glancing at you with eyes abysmal. "What took you so long to do that?" you breathed, a grin covering your face as Kol laughed, kissing the corner of your mouth.
"You're all mine now," Kol smiled, kissing you again. "Always and forever."

Hi! I just wanted to say that I've read through your Hau post and am impressed by the amount of detail you've added in; you've done an outstanding work on analyzing his character! I do have one question regarding it, though- who exactly is that "Witch of Disco" in that fight scene? Is she based on an existing character? If not, that's alright; but she does sound pretty!
Have an outstanding week!
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA- /V POS
omg omg oh my fucking LORD, anon, your words made me so happyyyyyy ;;w;; Gosh, have the best of months to you too, dearie- you deserve that and so much more HBVCDJFBNFJKFBJN--
Alrighty, alright- as happy as I am receiving your message (like, full on jumping from joy over here, lol), I can't ignore the core question here, soooooooooo-
The Witch of Disco, with an unfettered nature. So far, I'm still working on her name and the intricate details (heck, she might be due a redesign in the near future), but the core idea is that the magical girl she used to be might have been a young lady who was around during the 1970's; an African-American gal who wished to learn more of her roots and spread the gift of knowledge to those around her in new, invigorating ways; especially when considering how much Disco was been influenced by the the African-Americans, Latin-Americans, and those within the LGBTQ+ community who helped skyrocket its popularity.
Of course, there did come judgement from privileged folk who don't seem too keen on anything "tainting" their picture-perfect, clear suburbs with these "indecent" images and "backwards" beliefs. In spite of the passing of the Civil Rights Act in 1964, you bet some assholes were as pissed over sharing their spaces with those different from them as they still are now. Perhaps the witch, due to her desire to learn about her roots to begin with and preserve this very knowledge, was also heavily affected- a freedom fighter in her own way, if you will. I think she witched out while trying to make sure her own family wasn't affected by such hate, but, of course, she could preserve so much knowledge- but she couldn't even prevent the lives of her colleagues and kin slip from her fingers by these pathetic excuses of human beings.
Incredibly, and quite frustratingly, simple concept, I am aware- I will do my best to expand upon her story and even come up with an actual name for her, tho- that's a promise!
I kinda came up with the basic idea of the witch on the spot while writing down the Descent to Despair; initially, I wanted to create a completely unrelated witch related to the dangers of mass-industrialization and just existed as a simple homage to Dr. Eggman's creations from the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. As I was in the midst of writing, tho, the theme of Stardust Speedway's bad ending came up, and I was immediately inspired to create a labyrinth that was akin to a busy city full of neon lights, a witch that danced to the beat of that song, and, before I knew it, I was looking up disco dances on YT as reference while I wrote the battle sequence! It was a fun experience; 10/10, would do it again!
I even made quick, albeit basic, picrew mockups of her magi form! God, I can't wait to showcase my list of witch OCs and work on them further ;w;
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Of course, I am not African-American myself, so if there's anyone out there who'd like to correct me on what I wrote, or if there's anything that is deemed stereotypical or even harmful present, please, please, PLEASE let me know!!! /srs My aim here is to integrate real-world history and the impact such dire events had on marginalized folk that still persist to this day, so if I ever made a harmful fuckup, do not be afraid to tell me; I'll get to fixing it as soon as I could.

Chapter Five - Neville’s Very Clumsy
——————————————————————————
Tumblr media
——————————————————————————
The next morning was, eventful, to say the least. Camille had always been an early riser, her parents had insisted on her and sisters waking up at 5 am on the dot every morning, they had said it was to prepare them for when they themselves had families to wake up for but Camille knew it was just to torture them more then her parents already did. So when she woke up the next morning, wrapped in the velvety covers that they were provided, she felt a sense of tranquillity wash over her. There was no nagging mum leaning over her, no crying Gabrielle in the bed next to her and no annoying perfect Fleur singing in the shower for everyone to hear. It was quiet.
Just how she liked it.
Spinning her legs over the edge carefully, trying not to wake up the sleeping Hermione next to her, Camille walked over to the bathroom door that was left open on the opposite side of the strangely large dormitory.
Picking up her uniform on the way, Camille entered the bathroom quietly, looking around in awe at the extravagant manner of the simple room. On the wall facing the door stood four separate sinks, each having a mirror on the wall above and a small chest of drawers underneath them. Seeing as no one had claimed one yet, Camille chose the one closest to the shower, for once getting first choice of something. Placing her wash bag next to the sink, she carefully hung her uniform over the railing by the shower, not wanting to crease it straight away.
Grabbing her hairbrush out of her bag, she began to run it through her hair gently. Having slept with it in plaits had done her a huge favour, the usual straight and thick mess had been tamed into ringlets that now sat elegantly on her shoulders. Pinning her hair back with a clip, leaving the bottom layer down, Camille felt at peace with how she looked today. Sure, she wasn't as beautiful, after all she was only young, but she wasn't necessarily ugly (dear god did she hate that word), and that was enough.
Hearing movement from the room next her, and the familiarity of the other girls voices, she quickly pulled her shirt over her head and her skirt quickly over her hips, Camille turned to the door smiling at Hermione, who seemed shocked that someone was up before her.
"How are you up so early?" She spoke, her hand running through the bundle of curls that sat on top of her head. She walked over to the sink beside the French girl, placing her own stuff down gently.
"You know what they say," spoke Camille, brushing past Hermione with a smirk. "The early bird gets the worm."
There were a hundred and forty-two staircases at Hogwarts: wide, sweeping ones; narrow, rickety ones; some that led somewhere different on a Friday; some with a vanishing step halfway up that you had to remember to jump. Then there were doors that wouldn't open unless you asked politely, or tickled them in exactly the right place, and doors that weren't really doors at all, but solid walls just pretending. It was also very hard to remember where anything was, because it all seemed to move around a lot. It also didn't help that Camille knew where none of her classes were. And neither did Hermione, Or Ron. Or Harry.
Though after fumbling about the school for a long time they had managed to find most of their classes. And Camille had discovered a lot about her teachers.
They had to study the night skies through their telescopes every Wednesday at midnight and learn the names of different stars and the movements of the planets. Three times a week they went out to the greenhouses behind the castle to study Herbology, with a dumpy little witch called Professor Sprout, where they learned how to take care of all the strange plants and fungi, and found out what they were used for. Camille had noticed that Neville particularly enjoyed this one.
Easily the most boring class was History of Magic, which was the only one taught by a ghost. Professor Binns had been very old indeed when he had fallen asleep in front of the staff room fire and got up next morning to teach, leaving his body behind him. Binns droned on and on while they scribbled down names and dates and got Emetic the Evil and Uric the Oddball mixed up, which didn't help Camille in the slightest considering she had no idea who either of them were.
Professor McGonagall had to be Camille's favourite, however. Strict and clever, she gave them a talking-to the moment they sat down in her first class.
"Transfiguration is some of the most complex and dangerous magic you will learn at Hogwarts," she said. "Anyone messing around in my class will leave and not come back. You have been warned."
Then she changed her desk into a pig and back again. They were all very impressed and couldn't wait to get started, but soon realized they weren't going to be changing the furniture into animals for a long time. After taking a lot of complicated notes, they were each given a match and started trying to turn it into a needle. By the end of the lesson, only Hermione and Camille had made any difference to their match; Professor McGonagall showed the class how it had gone all silver and pointy and gave Hermione and Camille a rare smile, both girls giving each other a proud look as they linked arms and skipped off to the next lesson , leaving the boys and their matches far behind.
The class everyone had really been looking forward to was Defense Against the Dark Arts, but Quirrell's lessons turned out to be a bit of a joke. His classroom smelled strongly of garlic, which everyone said was to ward off a vampire he'd met in Romania and was afraid would be coming back to get him one of these days. Camille vaguely remembered her father telling Fleur (and Fleur told her) about an encounter he had with a vampire once, a very lovely vampire he had told her. His name was Carlisle, and he was a doctor. Camille had been shocked that a vampire could be a doctor, but her father had never lied to Fleur once.
Professor Quirrell's turban, he told them, had been given to him by an African prince as a thank you for getting rid of a troublesome zombie, but they weren't sure they believed this story.
For one thing, when Seamus Finnigan asked eagerly to hear how Quirrell had fought off the zombie, Quirrell went pink and started talking about the weather; for another, they had noticed that a funny smell hung around the turban, and the Weasley twins insisted that it was stuffed full of garlic as well, so that Quirrell was protected wherever he went. Camille had befriended the Weasley Twins then and there, she thought they were charming and funny, and rather attractive if she was honest. They could well be veela, she thought, despite knowing that they were pure blood. She wondered what their mother and father looked like.
Potions lessons took place down in one of the dungeons. It was colder there than up in the main castle and would have been quite creepy enough without the pickled animals floating in glass jars all around the walls. Camille and Hermione had been lucky enough to grab seats at the front, neither girls wanting to miss a thing. However, if Camille had known who their Professor was, she would've sat at the back, or even better out of the classroom.
His name was Professor Snape, and he was a tall man, who always seemed to be dressed in a black coat that billowed behind him like the wind itself followed him. His hair was pitch black and greasy, like it hadn't been watched in months, years even.
"You are here to learn the subtle science and exact art of potion making," he began. He spoke in barely more than a whisper, but they caught every word, Hermione scribbling down most of it, the sound of her quill annoying Camille slightly, though she didn't say anything. She'd hate to insult the girl. Snape had the gift of keeping a class silent without effort.
"As there is little foolish wand-waving here, many of you will hardly believe this is magic. I don't expect you will really understand the beauty of the softly simmering cauldron with its shimmering fumes, the delicate power of liquids that creep through human veins, bewitching the mind, ensnaring the senses.... I can teach you how to bottle fame, brew glory, even stopper death -- if you aren't as big a bunch of dunderheads as I usually have to teach."
"Potter!" said Snape suddenly. "What would I get if I added powdered root of asphodel to an infusion of wormwood?"
Hermione's hand had shot into the air.
"I don't know, sit," said Harry.
Snape's lips curled into a sneer.
"Tut, tut -- fame clearly isn't everything."
He ignored Hermione's hand.
"Let's try again. Potter, where would you look if I told you to find me a bezoar?"
Hermione stretched her hand as high into the air as it would go without her leaving her seat. Camille heard a loud noise behind her, and turned round to see Malfoy, Crabbe, and Goyle, shaking with laughter, and she had to hide a snicker herself. The three looked like utter pillocks.
"I don't know, sir."
"What is the difference, Potter, between monkshood and wolfsbane?"
At this, Hermione stood up, her hand stretching toward the dungeon ceiling, despite Camille's attempts to calm her down, not wanting her friend to embarrass herself more than she had. She had the feeling someone was gonna snap, whether it be Harry or Snape.
"I don't know," said Harry quietly. "I think Hermione does, though, why don't you try her?"
Camille laughed harmoniously at the sass Harry held in his voice, drawing the attention of the class to her. She had forgotten that most of them had probably never heard veela laugh before, and hers probably had a strange effect on the bunch, considering the majority of them were pre-pubescent teenage boys.
"Sorry," she squeaked, and slumped down in her chair. Hermione patting her head patronisingly. Though she too felt strange at the heavenly sound that had escaped the French girl's mouth.
"Sit down and be quiet," he snapped at Camille. "For your information, Potter, asphodel and wormwood make a sleeping potion so powerful it is known as the Draught of Living Death. A bezoar is a stone taken from the stomach of a goat and it will save you from most poisons. As for monkshood and wolfsbane, they are the same plant, which also goes by the name of aconite. Well? Why aren't you all copying that down?"
There was a sudden rummaging for quills and parchment, though Camille had already been making her notes during the commotion. Over the noise, Snape said, "And a point will be taken from Gryffindor House for your cheek, Potter." Idiote, thought Camille. The poor boy had been living with muggles his whole life, how could Snape thing he'd know the simplest thing about potions. Idiote, she repeated.
Things didn't improve for the Gryffindors as the Potions lesson continued. Snape put them all into pairs and set them to mixing up a simple potion to cure boils. He swept around in his long black cloak, watching them weigh dried nettles and crush snake fangs, criticizing almost everyone except Malfoy and Camille who had been paired with the blonde boy, the only two whom he seemed to like. He was just telling everyone to look at the perfect way Malfoy had stewed his horned slugs when clouds of acid green smoke and a loud hissing filled the dungeon. Neville had somehow managed to melt Seamus's cauldron into a twisted blob, and their potion was seeping across the stone floor, burning holes in people's shoes.
Within seconds, the whole class was standing on their stools while Neville, who had been drenched in the potion when the cauldron collapsed, moaned in pain as angry red boils sprang up all over his arms and legs. Camille flinched, seeing the hurt look on the poor boy's face, unlike Malfoy, or rather Draco as he had asked her to call him, who had laughed.
"Idiot boy!" snarled Snape, clearing the spilled potion away with one wave of his wand. "I suppose you added the porcupine quills before taking the cauldron off the fire?"
Neville whimpered as boils started to pop up all over his nose.
"Take him up to the hospital wing," Snape spat at Seamus. Then he rounded on Harry and Ron, who had been working next to Neville.
Camille and Hermione left the dungeon as soon as they could, both wanting to avoid the catastrophe of cleaning up the spilled potion.

M*A*G*I*C: Chapter Four|| T’challa Udaku
A/N: So, I'm literally writing instead of cleaning my room. Anyways, I am happy that people liked Chapter three. Hope you guys like this one.
Words: IDK
Warning(s): Cussing, Suggestive stuff, Usage of the N-word.
{CHAPTERS} [1] [2] [3] [5] [6]
The meeting with Pitch and Greyson started out promising. At first, They listened and allowed you and Ju to speak and voice your opinions. Then everything went down the toilet. They wanted a "Well known actress" to play the main character in my book, Lanelle.  They named a few white actresses and like 2 black actresses. You rolled your eyes at them. It was aspected of them.
"Amandla Steinberg is a well known black actress." one of them said after you and Ju pointed that Lanelle was black.
"Yes, but Lanelle is dark skin with 4c hair. I literally spent the first two chapters going on about her skin color and how she looks like, " you explained.
"Amandla Steinberg can't play the black girl in every movie," Ju commented.
In the end, you guys couldn't compromise and you and Ju left with sour faces.
"I'm sorry the meeting didn't go well," Ju said before taking a bite out of her hamburger.
After that sour meeting with  Pitch and Greyson, you guys went to Mcdonald's. Ju thought that food might cheer you guys up.
"It's fine." You told her, " Ain't no way in hell I was gonna sell out and let them white and light wash Lanelle. A character that's base on me. Not after it took me years to love my color. Lanelle is me."
Ju gave you one final look then join the up and coming traffic.
After Ju dropped you off at your apartment, you changed out of my suit into comfortable clothes. I was not in the mood to write or watch tv, So I had the perfect idea to go bother T'challa.
Shuri was the one who answered the door. She was surprised by your visit.
"I'm not in a mood to listen to any music. I promise." She quickly said to you.
You laughed. "Oh, No. You're fine. I just dropped by to bother T'challa."
"Bother? I thought I was the only person with that job." Shuri joked.
You let out a genuine laugh. You like her.
"You can come in." Shuri said, "T'challa is changing."
You walk in and Shur closed the door behind you.
You were amazed by the decorations. African prints everywhere. Amazing colors. You spotted the large Pan African flag hanging on the ceiling.
"T'challa is very proud to be African huh." You commented out loud.
Shuri heard you but offered no response.
You were especially amazed by the black panther painting that hung on the wall.
"Interesting," you whispered.
Shuri was quiet with a smirk on her face as she watches and analyzes you. You felt her eyes on you and gave her a confused look.
"Do I have something on my face?" you asked.
She laughs, "No. I just-"
"Shuri, who was at the door?"
T'challa came out of his room wearing a black turtleneck, black slacks, and Black boots but the thing that caught your attention the most was the huge scratch on the right side of your face.
"Luna." He simply said. He was caught off guard.
"What happened to your face?" You said walking over to him. You touched his face and let out a gasp. Your eyes started to burn and for a short second you saw nothing but white, then you were no longer in T'challa's living room.
It was night and very dark. A hard pitch sound hit your ears and everything became clear. You were on top of a roof and the white woman T'challa was fucking and the one from your dreams was beating on a someone in a catsuit.
"GIVE ME THE STONE." She shouted as she grabs him by the throat.
You let out another gasp and in seconds was back in T'challa's living room. You gasped and tried to catch your breath. Surprised by what just occurred.
Ju'leesa was right. You thought.
" Luna, Are you ok?" T'challa asked for the 5th tome, walking towards you as you walked away from him.
You finally catch your breath and gave him a look.
" I have to go." You quickly said and storm out of his apartment.
T'challa apparently wasn't a quitter because he ran after you. Your dumb ass didn't lock the door behind you and came in.
"What just happened?" He asked, "Luna, your eyes turned white and you were pupil-less for a second. Shuri did not see it, but I did."
You were sitting down on your couch, trying to capture everything that he was saying. You were still freaked out. Especially since your eyes still burned.
"What are you?" T'challa finally asked.
That question pissed you the fuck off. Who was he? To come into your home and ask you what you were?
"Get out." You said quietly.
"Lun-"
"GET OUT."
For the first time in weeks, you used your telekineses. You threw T'challa out and locked the door behind him.
Tumblr media
"Stay out." You whispered, rubbing your eyes. They still burned.
You called Ju.
"You were right." You said.
"I'm coming."
The first thing you noticed was the bottle with the bright purple liquid.
"What is that?" you asked.
"The Cure."
"The cure?"
"This will take the burn away and you will never feel it again after a vision. My gran made it for me. That woman is a miracle worker. "
"What if I don't ever want to have a vision again." You mumbled taking the bottle from Ju.
"You promised your mom you wouldn't bind your powers."
"I know."
"I swear you the only bitch I know who don't want powers. "
Ju helped you to the bathroom and helped you wash your eyes with the "Cure.". The burning went away instantly and you hugged her.
"Thank you so much."
"No problem hoe."
"T'challa saw me." You said quietly.
Ju gave you a confused look, "Saw you?"
"My eyes. He saw them go white."
"Oh. That's not good."
"He didn't run away though. He ran to me. Humans..usually run away."
"Maybe he likes you so much that he was willing to overlook that."
You let out a sigh, "Ju'leesa. T'challa and I are not secretly in love with each other. I thought we already discussed this. Plus, I threw him out. With my powers."
Ju'leesa's eyes widen, “Nigga,  you fucked up your situation even more?"
"Yeah."
"Yo dumb ass, We gotta fix this. We also gotta find out what the fuck that white bitch is. Think she’s one of us?"
"I don’t know.  you still have the spell book they gave you at that weird witch night school your mom made you go to?"
"Yeah." Ju answered, "Plus, I've been practicing."
"I really don't want to mess with his head. Those type of spells is like being mindfucked."
Ju'leesa smiled, "You sounded so concern for him."
You rolled your eyes at her, "I'd be concerned for any human person in his position. Those spells fuck up people's head."
"After using the memory wiping spell on T'challa, We should use the truth spell on you, so you can admit to yourself that you like this man."
You scoffed, "Ju. Let it go. You can have him since he's all you seem to want to talk about."
" So, you wouldn't have a problem with it if I date T'challa?"
"Nope. I have zero feelings for T'challa Udaku. Nothing."
"Ok."
“Dating T’challa should be the last thing on your mind. We should be worrying about my vision and how to save that poor man in the catsuit.”
“Are you truly concern about catsuit man or are you just trying to keep me away from T’challa’s dick?”
You rolled your eyes and walk away from her.
A/N: Luna has Zero feelings for T’challa. Nope. Nothing. You saw how she threw him out her apartment?  Sorry if this short and is ass. I wanted to show some of the powers Luna has. Stay tuned for more, Luna doesn’t like T’challa on Disney Channel. Also, I’m taking character asks and stuff. If y’all gotta any questions or confused about something. Hit me up and I’ll answer them. My box is always open. Thanks for reading.
