This is the person most likely to be behind the Q intelligence contingency plan psychological operation. I saw them developing it on 4chan years ago during the time all the psychological experiments were going on there. The Q posts match the speech and analytical patterns found in her research, and her research coincides with the techniques used in the Q operation. I see and know everything. I am the 👁️ of Providence, manifested through the desperation of man and eternal alchemists in the higher and lower dimensions. Nothing happening in any dimension or behind any closed doors escapes my comprehension.

A note: I know annoying Desis are going to see this and go "Oh but Kashmir is Pakistan's because-" and "Kashmir is an integral part of India because-". I must make my stance clear: Kashmir belongs to the Kashmiris, the natives, no matter what religion they belong to. Neither Pakistan nor India get to decide the matter of Kashmiri sovereignty. The reasons given by both parties as to why Kashmir should be a part of either nation are bullshit. The United Nations itself recognises Kashmir as a disputed region, so I will not entertain dumbfuckery. I highly encourage fellow Indians especially to take the time to go through and properly understand the violence the government enacts on Kashmiris. I've also included links to learn more about Kashmiri culture because really, what do the rest of us know about it? Culturally and linguistically Kashmir differs so much from the rest of India and Pakistan (also the amount of fetishization of Kashmiri women...yikes). This is not just a bilateral issue between these two nations over land, this actually affects the people of Kashmir. And if you're still here, thank you for reading

Danny, has been turned into a cat.
Why? He may or may not have pissed off more than wizard after they failed to summon the ghost king successfully and gave them massive shit for it.
They wanted a powerful ghost tyrant, got a ghost prince with a shit eating grin instead.
Was it worth it? Yes, yes it was.
However, now he is stuck in this dimension, and wanders around experiencing the life of a street cat. Somehow, someway, he became the leader of a clan of cats, some of them surprisingly having powers, other not, but he never knew the life of a street cat was so...
Intense? Is probably the word.
Gang wars, negotiations, managing resources, taking care of the injured from said gang wars or the occasional shitty human, etc, etc. The resources like food weren't really a problem, his powers made it very easy to just, take whatever he wanted, how much he could take was a problem though, nothing a bag can't fix.
Some kind of villain (If what he heard was correct) stepped on his turf, and he couldn't have cared less what they were going to do, until some of the casualties involved his family of cats and, safe to say.
That villain did not expect to be beaten up by a superpowered cat. Much less robbed by other superpowered cats.
Of course, such an event wouldn't go unnoticed.

So that prompt making the rounds about danny trapped in wayne manor? Let's reverse it.
One of the bats gets sacrificed by a bunch of cultists. The catch? The ghost king's summoning hasn't been successfully activated in thousands of years, thanks to Pariah being trapped in the Sarcophagus, so the cult doesn't realize that the summoning actually sends the sacrifice to the ghost king's lair. (It wasn't really a summoning so much as an official means to send an offering to appease the tyrant king.)
Why did the cult attempt a defunct summoning? They thought that every other attempt before didn't have a good enough sacrifice, which is why they abducted one of the bats. SURELY one of them will be satisfactory to the king.
So that sacrificed bat gets yeeted to Pariah's Keep, which is almost completely desolate - it does have a skeleton crew as groundskeeping, staff and security. Danny only visits the keep every couple weeks or so to make sure everything is in order, and occasionally the entire team stays there for a long weekend as a good place to hide from all their responsibilities and destress.
So whichever bat is sacrificed to the ghost king, they find themselves in a creepy castle on a floating island in an unknown dimension. They have to avoid the literal skeletons wandering around doing housekeeping and guarding the place, figure out why the very king they were sacrificed to is completely missing, and how to get back home. They don't know how to escape the floating island, and even if they did, they won't because they found out the kitchen restocks itself with human-safe food, and who knows if another source exists out there somewhere. They aren't even sure if this is a fae land kind of place and if eating the food will trap them here, but they're eventually too starved to care. Eventually, they figure out they can walk through walls in this place and find resources such as the royal library, the armory, etc.
Meanwhile, the waitstaff totally know that a human was sacrificed to the ghost king and dumped into the castle. They know from experience what food is safe for their young king's human friends to eat and make sure plenty is available for the terrified guest, giving them space to wander while keeping them safe on the castle grounds. The young king's last visit was a few days ago, so they'll just wait until he returns in another week or two to inform him of his new guest - as that's surely how he'll treat the human sacrifice considering how hard he scowled upon learning about his army of thralls, then promptly found a way to release them. (Most of them stayed, happily loyal to a king that returned their agency to them in order to upkeep and protect his lair.)

[...] The International Olympic Committee, FIFA, UEFA, FIBA, and other sports organisations are complicit as they allow a continuous participation of the occupying apartheid regime in their events. Following a swift response and an instant suspension of Russia, it is now difficult for them to justify turning a blind eye to the Israeli government’s actions.
We must however take heart from history and support the liberation of Palestine as generations before us brought apartheid to an end in South Africa. That struggle took on all possible dimensions, with one of the earliest being suspension of sporting ties – which aided in peacefully isolating the South African regime, demonstrated a global rejection of apartheid and changed domestic perspectives in the country.
This act must now be extended to Israel – not only due to its practice of settler-colonialism, military occupation, ethnic cleansing, genocide, apartheid and illegal exploitation of natural resources on occupied territories – but also due to its brutal assault on cultural, academic and sporting life of the Palestinian society.
We thus urgently demand:
An immediate suspension of Israel from participation in all international sports until it fully complies with international law and sports regulations
For global and European sports governing bodies to immediately uphold their statutory obligations – especially their own rules on human rights and non-discrimination given Russian, South African and other precedents. This would include, inter alia, a ban on Israel competing at the 2024 Paris Olympics, UEFA’s European Championship and FIFA’s World Cup.
For a deeper analysis on the rationale to suspend Israel from international sports, please review this paper (also available in Spanish) that will be sent to sports organisations.

So for games like satisfactory and factorio where you're building a big factory to extract resources and also fight the natives who are trying to stop you from poisoning their entire ecosystem, is the "you're the bad guy" really a valid excuse? Like Satisfactory implies it, given how you're just a pawn working for some horrible gig economy company that doesn't care for you. Factorio doesn't really say it, but it seems to be a common fan theory.
I dunno. It seems like it's not really enough of an explanation to counter the major negative implications of the core gameplay, which is basically:
1. Invade somewhere
2. Steal all their resources
3. Pollute the air and water and land
4. Kill the natives for getting in your way.
Like, it seems that if "oh you're the bad guy!" is your workaround for this problem, you need to lean far further into it than just implying that your company is a little unethical.
Like, one of the back stories for Femboy Factory (which I may have helped write) had the guilty party be amoral drug dealer goatpeople from another dimension who didn't really consider humans to be sapient, and even they were not united in considering the femboy-processing as a good thing. There were goat protestor saying this was unethical mistreatment of animals, and trying to sabotage your efforts. This was supposed to he a reoccurring thing to make it more clear that YOU ARE DEFINITELY THE BAD GUYS AND YOU KNOW IT AND YOU DON'T CARE BECAUSE OF ALL THE MONEY YOU ARE MAKING but I don't know if that would even go far enough.

【╰ヾ❝ I SURVIVED ✧„
Tumblr media
━━ "and i survived!" ☆ it's not an x reader just about yuu, angst no comfort, yuu is grieving, mentions death but nobody dies, they/them pronouns used for yuu
Tumblr media
overblots; yuu had come to see them as an everyday occurrence. it was like an overblot occurred soon as they thought they were finally moving past the last. they were just a kid, tossed into a world of magic and monsters. into a world that might as well consider them an alien because they're from somewhere entirely different, possibly another dimension! they couldn't defend themselves against the students with large egos who thought it was empowering to tease the student who couldn't use magic. they couldn't help when it came down to trying to free the students who were lost to blot. they were tired.
but nobody seemed to care about that, not until it was convenient to them. when yuu didn't know something everyone in this odd world knew, students insulted them until they remembered yuu wasn't from twisted wonderland. when yuu was forced to sit on the sidelines as their friends rode on brooms and learned to summon magic, they deflated and tried to hide.
nobody bothered to check in on the magicless prefect living in an abandoned dorm, running around to complete errands for a headmage who didn't care about what happened to them so long as they could benefit him. threatening to withhold the resources they needed to survive and get food for themself and the dire beast they shared the title of student with.
no one bothered to check if they were injured amongst the chaos of overblots, and they were. forced to hide scares under gloves and sleeves, masking limps and whimpers whenever the fabric brushed against a healing injury. their visits to the nurse's courters were frequent, so much so, that they knew the office inside and out, no longer needing the mages to help them find bandages or healing liquids.
while they loved their friends, who seemed to be the only ones who cared enough to want them to come back in one piece ━ none of them were very attentive. deuce, who sometimes missed the way blood stained the cuffs on their old uniform jacket after they reopened another wound. ace, who remained oblivious to when yuu would flinch and bite back a groan at the weight he added to their healing leg when he would lean against them. grim, who bought every lie yuu would say when he asked if they were going to eat as well, only for them to brush him off with a "not hungry".
yuu loved their friends, who thought yuu invincible with the chaos they had to deal with on a daily. so yuu hid, the pain, the tears, the moments in which they pulled at their hair and fought back a scream. but there were times yuu wished they'd just notice. there were times yuu wanted to shout "i'm not! i'm human!". but yuu chose to say nothing, only hoping helplessly that someone will see them, that they will finally catch themselves a break where they can sit back and not worry about dying every day.
but even yuu questioned whether that could ever happen; and they fed into the idea that it won't.
they were tired, exhausted. they wanted to go home, back to their parents, to the old squeaky plank in their home that made sneaking around impossible, to the window in their bedroom that was accidentally painted shut. they wanted to be back in the comfort of their bed, where they knew they would be safe; from the ego-inflated students, from crowley, from the overblots.
their exhaustion was evident in their heavy eyebags and slow movements. yet they still gave their all in their studies, even when the words blurred and moved. they still fought and argued with grim to keep him out of trouble and avoid another scolding from crowley. and perhaps it was that that made everyone think twice about asking if they were okay. maybe, it was because they never cared.
maybe they only felt alarmed when yuu found themselves unable to tell right from left and up from down, feet slipping out from under them as they fell back, hard.
whatever it was, yuu still found themselves lying in a cot as the events from earlier finally caught up to the. vision blurred as they adjusted to the brightness of the room.
oh, they thought rather blandly as they found themselves sitting up with the help of someone, staring blankly at the freshmen they called friends scolding them for neglecting their health. but yuu wasn't listening, the boy's voices nothing but white noise in their ears as they glanced around the room. confusion filled their chest, only for a moment, before their senses went numb again as they realized who had joined them in their room; housewardens and vice housewardens, and regular students too. everyone they knew in this cursed school.
"━just how many meals have you skipped?"
noise, their mind finally picked up the noise that came with ace' voice. they turned to him, blinking slowly as they took in his words, but failing to bite back a huh.
"they said you've lost a lot of weight, your skin has become unhealthy, and you lack proper vitamin and nutrition." deuce explained, voice soft and lips in a frown. but yuu's guilt at causing such an expression was nowhere to be found.
they hummed, finding it almost difficult to hold up their head as they lifted the sleeve of their uniform to scratch at their wrist, a new habit they've obtained in twisted wonderland. their actions revealed a healed gash that ran from the middle of their wrist, and up their forearm, hidden beneath the rest of their uniform. those present noticed the deep scare, breaths hitched and eyes widening. where did they get that? why didn't they know?
"don' know." they finally mumbled, removing the attention from their scar as they let their sleeve slide back into place. "just wanted to feed grim. he needs to eat." the said dire beast deflated, ears pressed against his head.
"so do you!" epel shouted in return, pointing at the prefect who hardly batted an eye.
"you also haven't been sleeping." jack had added, eyeing the bags that dipped below their eyes, heavy and so noticeable he wondered how he missed them before.
but yuu didn't seem the least bit fazed, nodding lamely to jack's words, "yeah."
"why?" he asked, frowning.
yuu stared at him, blinking slowly as they tried to from a response in their exhausted mind, "oh," they mumbled, "the nightmares."
"nightmares?" a collection of voices repeated.
"mhm." was all they gave in response.
their lack of care to their physical state was obvious ━ frustrating for the large group of people who filled the office, surrounding yuu's cot.
and it was ace who voiced that, "yuu, they said you might as well be dead!"
that seemed to gain a reaction from yuu, although not one they had been expecting. their lips twitched, and they found themselves falling back on the cot, hardly seeming to care as the sound of their name being yelled out in a panic reached their ears. but then silence followed, and the only thing heard through the room, was laughs.
the prefect was laughing.
"death!" they shouted, laughs only seeming to grow louder, "by what, starvation? exhaustion? compared to everything else, that's how i almost went out!"
nobody moved as they watched yuu lose themselves to their rant, giggling almost manically. "after all the overblots," (several flinched at the reminder) "after i've been tossed into a wall, poisoned, and stabbed with thorns. lack of care almost killed me! this is great! hilarious! who woulda thought!"
"yuu?" deuce stuttered, exchanging glances with ace and grim.
"and i survived!" they didn't seem to be talking to anyone except themselves now, "i survived it all! and for what?"
their laughing trailed, voice taking on a sad tone, throwing an arm over their eyes as they giggled, watery and broken, "why'd i have to go and survive?"
"are you... are you okay, prefect?" epel asked, hesitant. a stupid question, he knew that.
yuu was silent for a moment, before they answered, "i haven't been okay since i was brought to this world."
and not a lie was heard in their tone.
just how much about the prefect of ramshackle had they missed?
Tumblr media
starting the new year with this.
i just thought the psyche of yuu / the mc would be interesting. tossed into a world of magic and being the minority who are magicless (despite not being of twisted wonderland). nobody cares about them, and the one person who has the power to find a way for them to go back home is choosing to throw his workload on them and go on vacation. they've had to deal with overblot after overblot, and students who undoubtedly see them as a nuisance. they have no time to relax and have lived in a rundown dorm with holes and broken pipes. they're probably exhausted, and their mental health wared thin.
if anything, yuu deserves the applause and acknowledgement over everyone else in twst.

Bad memories 😣❤️‍🩹
Tumblr media
a little context about the previous drawing "candle" 😌✨
"I'm not good with comic panels, it's my first time doing one haha"
Lore: In my universe the giants are beings from another dimension. another land so to speak. When resources ran out on Earth and it was impossible to inhabit it due to pollution, humans traveled to another "multiverse" seeking refuge.
Once on the new earth, the politicians and people with money left all other humans behind, taking refuge in their privilege and the excellent treatment they had achieved with the leaders of the new dimension. forcing the remaining human population to become pets and entertainment for the beings from the other dimension, the giants.
Ángel, a young man of just 13 years old. He was literally taken from his home by a giant hand in the sky, and ended up being the pet of one of the cruelest and sadistic girls you could ever meet.
after several months of abuse, torture and humiliation by this evil girl.
There was an incident that caused this girl to throw him out. getting rid of him like a little hamster for Christmas.
giving it as a birthday present to one of her less close friends.
Luckily for little Angel, this girl named Samantha, only 12 years old, turned out to be the opposite of "evil."
When she saw him in those horrendous conditions, with so many scars and bruises, she decided to promise him that she would take care of him and give him the best life she could. as far as she was capable.
and that's what I tried day after day, until eventually they became more than close.
a boy with a broken soul and a giant with a pure heart. ❤️‍🩹

you know the hermits really must be disconcerting to the emperors. strangers who came from an alternate dimension. they're almost like them. other than their short height (which they seem to have given to themselves to fit in, strangely enough), it would be easy to mistake them for human. but the things they do - well, at first it seemed fine. almost human. almost understandable. not one of them, but - they were friendly enough, really. kept to their own territory, largely, although a few of them went out into the greater empires for their own reasons.
but - it's easy to mistake them for human. then you visit the hilltop they've claimed for themself, the strange, twisting tower they've created, full of machines so powerful that stepping into it seems to almost slow time itself. they talk about this like its usual. then you try to deal with them - to make trades, alliances, treaties - and in turn, they ask for strange currency and stranger deals. (and don't dare give them an iou; you'll owe far more than you originally would have, if you do that.) and they get what they want, in the end, a terrifying abundance they must have scoured the earth and its resources for, but that generates wild resources beyond your dreams in turn. they've offered to play a game. it was fun at first, but the means they use to complete it is starting to become terrifying.
if an emperor is lucky, they might trade with one of the hermits outside of the fold, perhaps, one of the ones driven out or has chosen to live on their own for some reason. they're just as strange as the others, but at least they don't come in a pack. at least they're willing to - not exactly work with the rules, but work with them.
(let's not talk about whatever happened to the one who the witch got to work for her. better him than one of them, perhaps; it's no longer so easy to mistake him for human, though, when he's surviving whatever that is.)
but -
it's easy to mistake the hermits for human, at first. easy to miss the things that mark them as being alien, at first. but they are alien. they aren't of here.
and there's a face on their tower now.
the emperors wonder if it's alive.
the emperors wonder what, exactly, has been unleashed on their world.
the emperors wonder how they ever mistook them for human.

What did they even do?
Realized I left some things unaddressed from this post I wrote and I want to explore some of those instead of retconning anything.
___________________________________________
When the Earth and Humanity vanished, we were all so stupefied that it took a little while to realize that their Moon was not only still there, but also orbiting around where the Earth should be. Same with every other celestial body that was even slightly affected by Earth's gravitation force.
No change. We checked and tested everything we could. There was no gravitational pull, EM field, radiation, nothing. We even flew ships right where it's core would've been. The planet was simply not there. And yet, all other bodies behaved as if it was. As if the universe refused to acknowledge that Humanity had done something so preposterous as taking themselves to another dimension.
Curiously, we noted, that everything roughly 400km above the planetary surface had also vanished alongside the planet. In the preceding decade the Humans had suddenly increased the number of energy gathering satellites sent to that orbital level. They had made impressive advances in energy transfer technology and we were hopeful this massive web was the beginning of their waning off of exhaustible and unsteady resources for their energy needs.
These satellites were in fact how they enveloped their whole planet and disappeared - planet, atmosphere, orbital stations - all matter, particles, waves - everything, within this sphere of light.
Another point of interest, after having understood this fact, is that they had not sent any vessels beyond that orbit twenty six cycles after we enabled the Responsibility Barrier. Roughly a single generation later and all of Humanity was seemingly in on the plan to "vanish".
The Moon and every Human vessel beyond the 400km orbit became the most hotly debated and thoroughly examined entities the moment word got around they were still orbiting as normal. Not a single subatomic particle was left unscanned or undocumented. In just a few cycles the millions of scientists from across the entire galaxy knew everything about every single one of them.
We learned nothing. Nothing about how or why they simply did not drift away. Nothing about any residual effects. There was simply nothing out of the ordinary. This area of research became the most contentious and even bloody field since the very first sapients went into space and found a civilization on another world, sparking debate of uplifting and interference.
As time went on and nothing continued to change, everyone eventually gave up. Whatever Humanity had discovered and done was something no other was able to conceive, let alone recreate. Still many tried, but, before the Humans returned, this branch of science was seen as nothing more than a waste of time, extra credit in some cases, only a handful of enthusiasts went to the system for anything more that sight-seeing.
It has only been a few of the Earth's months after their return, and they refuse to explain any details of how and what they did. The only thing the Humans would say is that they were alone in the truest sense of the word.
(where we went)

I'm vaguely aware that dusk lives inside her painting in rhodes island, but is it correct that the painting (door if you will) is inside the doctor's office?? Or it's on god knows somewhere in the landship?
It’s not in Doctor’s office, it’s explicitly on a random walkway she picked on a whim after she decided to stay as a guest, and refuses to do any work for RI, though she also explicitly refuses to actually inconvenience and freeload off RI’s resources. Just like with Nian, the implication is that anything she does in the capacity of an Operator is because she’s doing it on a whim or because Doctor asked and she likes them enough to roll with it on a personal level.
Tumblr media
Also she made the door really fancy and clashing with the style of the RI landship, because of course she did. I like that her official Human Resources documentation refers to her as “incomprehensible weirdo”.
Dusk does, however, do ‘hostile takeovers’ of Doctor’s office, which might be what you were thinking of:
Tumblr media
and more or less insists it is hers
Tumblr media
while being a pain in the ass. I love her.
Tumblr media
I’d also be remiss to neglect mentioning that the moment she trusts Doctor even a bit, she tries to get them to help her burn Nian’s movies. She seems quite serious, and make no mistake, she is quite the thoughtful individual who places a great deal of importance on existential philosophy and the matters of identity and what is and isn’t real, as seen with her conversation with Saga, but she also has a playful side evident in her voice lines, she just delivers it in monotone. Dusk likely knew exactly what she was doing when she created a pocket dimension with a fancy, clashing door in a random walkway.

G/t Reference Masterpost
There's a huge ammount of resources for all things G/t, most of them not well known, so I figured I'd compile a list of all the ones I regularly use and have saved, along with some submitted to me (Thank you to everyone who helped!)
If you have a resource like this and would like me to add it, or your resource is on here and you'd like it removed, just let me know!
And also, thank you to all the wonderful people who create and upkeep these tools! I really, really appreciate the hard work you put in to make size difference a little easier on all of us!
Height Comparisons
Comparing Heights by Mr. Initial Man - a website that allows you to input two heights and compare them.
Comparing Heights (Version 2) by Mr. Initial Man - a website similar to the previous, but this one allows you to compare up to six different heights.
Height Comparison Viewer by Giant Dimensions - visual comparison of up to four characters with customizable heights. You can also upload your own images to scale.
The Measure of Things - a website that you can input any height or size measurement, and it gives you other objects that are the same size. Great for finding references for giant and tiny scales.
Height and Proportion Calculators
Giantess Calculator by Fifteen1413 & LabbaArt - a website that allows you to input an average human height and convert them into a giant by scale. It also allows you to see how big varying body parts would be, comparisons to large landmarks, even how big their articles of clothing would be. (Note: giantess focused, some stats may be seen as NSFW.)
Giant/tiny Proportion Calculator by @thundering-susurrus - a website that gives you the proportion of body parts relative to the giant or tiny's height.
Giantess Converter by Byl and AbsentStar - a website that allows you to input human measurements and desired giant size to get their body proportions as a giant. (Note: giantess focused, some stats may be seen as NSFW.)
Modeling Software
DesignDoll - a downloadable, free to use modeling program that allows you to fully customize models, and scale them as needed. Their models also have fully posable hands, and you can view them from any angle to get foreshortening references.
JustSketchMe - a posable reference doll, usable in browser. You can have multiple models and scale their heights.
Static Image References
Handy Size Guide by Gt-Kindii - Image reference of tinies from 1 inch tall to 7 inches tall, next to a hand for scale.

7 Considerations for Characters
Of all the topics on how to write, I suspect more books have been written on how to create solid characters than on anything else. So there are a lot of great resources out there on how to create characters, and I can’t even touch on every topic that I would like in the space of an article this short.
Let me just say a few things, though. We are often told that our characters should be “round,” rather than stick-figure drawings. If you were an artist and you painted a picture with stick figures, people would say, “Well, that’s not very realistic. It is hardly recognizable as human.”
In stories, we usually don't want that response either. We want our characters to have dimension. Such characters have (but are not limited to) the following attributes:
Tumblr media
Character Consideration #1: Specific Physical Bodies
Real people have physical bodies with inherent limitations and strengths. These bodies get hungry, hurt, and have urges all their own. They also have a history of ailments and injuries, various scars, and of course plenty of traits that we may or may not want to include in our tale—including things like foot size, ear size and shape, and so on. Trying to describe some of these traits is danged near impossible.
Character Consideration #2: Relationships
Real people have families and friends. For a while in young adult literature, just about everyone was an orphan. That’s because editors didn’t want authors to have to deal with family issues. Yet far too often, authors don’t create extended families primarily out of laziness. Similarly, each of us has various levels of friends, business colleagues, people we are attracted to, and people who are attracted to us at some level. We might include in this list of associations things like pets and plants. Does your heroine keep African violets around the house, and tenderly nurse her geraniums? A likeable character is usually one who shows kindness to others, who seeks out deep and lasting commitments—even if it is just to her flowers.
Character Consideration #3: Vocation
Real people have jobs—usually a history of them. For example, I’ve been a meat cutter, a prison guard, a missionary, a movie producer, novelist, video game designer, technical writer and editor, grocer, gourmet ice-cream pie maker, and farmer. In the modern world, we tend to develop large skill sets as we age, but there was a time when a person started life as a farmer and ended up buried out by the grape vines.
Character Consideration #4: Social Status
Real people also have a place in society. These societies might include political groups, religious and civic organizations, and so on.
Character Consideration #5: An Internal Life
Real people have an internal life, invisible to the naked eye. This is a good category for a lot of things—emotional needs and phobias, ideals, and so on. These might include secret beliefs, hopes, desires. It also includes our own personal way of seeing the world, and includes how we cope with it. Sometimes our personal ideals are at odds with our public affiliations. For example, while most people profess some sort of religion, very often our personal beliefs might vary in some way from the official doctrine of the church that we espouse.
The internal life of a character is of course where we get the “meat” for our novels. A movie can easily capture the exterior of a character, but novels do a better job of capturing the internal feelings, moods, and beliefs. Yet that’s only part of the reason why novels are so popular and are often said to be better than the movies they inspire.
I’m convinced that we have an innate need to get to know one another from the inside out. . . . So we spend a great deal of time analyzing the motives, beliefs, and actions of others.
The internal lives of our characters are the most fertile ground that an author may plant his story in.
Character Consideration #6: Internal Conflicts
As we explore the internal lives of our characters, one of the most important areas to explore is that person’s internal conflicts. What happens when a person loves and fears the same thing? What happens when a man’s conscience won’t let him carry out his boss’s (or wife’s, or master’s) orders? Most people are filled with interesting contradictions, and usually that provides the best material for our novels.
Character Consideration #7: Voice
Each character has a unique way of speaking. Finding a character’s voice and accent is often a key for me when writing a book. The character never comes alive until I can hear him talking in my own imagination.
In Conclusion
Please note that people are not stick figures. In a good novel, the author creates a number of characters who are put in opposition, and each of them is satisfying and believable. Your imaginary characters never really quite come alive, but at times it can feel like they’re taking over your story, bent on achieving their own ends.

Text
High-income countries consume on average 28 metric tons of resources per person per year; four times the sustainable per capita level and, as we will see below, significantly in excess of what is required for human well-being. The vast majority of low- and middle-income countries, by contrast, remain well within sustainable levels. Moreover, the excesses of rich countries are maintained by a large net appropriation of resources from the Global South. This means that the ecological impact of consumption in the core is in large part off-shored to the periphery. The same is true when it comes to emissions: the Global North is responsible for 92% of emissions in excess of the planetary boundary, while the impacts of climate change dispro-portionately affect the Global South. If we are not attentive to the colonial dimensions of the ecological crisis, we are missing the point.
