[...] As he was coming back from a run, Crowley saw a young woman waiting by the entrance of his building. She was wearing a red leather jacket and aviator sunglasses, leaning against the wall with her arms crossed while watching passersby, and Crowley perked up at the unexpected appearance.

“Hiya, Pepper. To what do I owe the pleasure?”

The young woman turned her stern face towards him. "I've come to talk some sense into you."

Crowley didn’t need to ask her what she meant. He had no doubt everyone in MI6 now knew about his situation, and he hadn’t replied to the calls and texts of any of the Them in days.

So instead, he offered her a grin and bowed. "Well, in that case, by all means, please, do come in."

He didn’t miss the roll of her eyes as he opened the door for her.

"I'm surprised your little gang didn’t send the golden boy to do this job," he said as he followed her into the building and pressed the button of the lift.

"Adam's busy,” Pepper replied evasively, tucking her sunglasses into the collar of her T-shirt. “Besides, he's too fascinated by you to be honest and tell you when you’re being an idiot."

Crowley winked at her. "And that's why you’re my favourite, kid."

That earned him another eye roll.

"I know you’re just trying to rile me up," she said as she stepped into the lift, closely followed by him.

"Is it working?"

"Nope." [...]

We are getting playable Cuttlefish in Splatoon 3.

i dont like saying im totally certain about predictions, but the evidence is so subtle, yet so very intentional in the exact way that the splatoon team would do if they were trying to hint at something. (under the cut because long post)

I’m sure some of you have seen PandaUniverse’s tweet introducing the cuttlefish evidence. first two images are from that tweet, putting it out there that i cant take credit for those.

the splatoon team foreshadowed OE before release with a blocked off train station in inkopolis square....this seems even more obvious? no entry for squids, mysterious 2 finned squid thing can enter? exhibit B: weird hat

again, two finned squid thingy like in the ticket gates. i saw some ppl saying “its just a weird octopus” but like. why would the splatoon team purposely model an octopus hat super weirdly? also @sprousprou​ sent me a better image:

that is not an octopus lol After i saw the tweet, i remembered a thing that me and my friend dodo were scratching our heads at a few months ago while we were reconning all the s3 stages for details, because... Exhibit C: that’s a fucking cuttlefish

again, 2 fins. found in Mincemeat Metalworks, it’s in the same style as the Angry Squid and Angry Octopus graffiti that’s been seen before.

So how do I feel about this? well... not even a month ago i thought it would be weird to expect a new playable species, but the evidence feels so undeniable now. but i also mentioned in that ask, cuttlefish are pretty much the only species that would make sense with current lore. being ink-producing cephalopods in real life, unlike nautiluses or dumbo octopuses, i would expect cuttlefish to be ink-based shapeshifters like the inklings and octolings. and we have seen cuttlefish in splatoon’s canon before... albeit only once in the japan-only octo expansion artbook....and they look a lot like inklings. However i find it a bit... weird... that they’d be introduced like this with next to zero build up, unlike the playable octolings which were hinted at from the first game. i’m also deeply concerned about the idea of this truly becoming a pattern, like the splatoon team potentially introducing a new species in each DLC, leaning on "play as this New Guy” as the main selling point and not “play this cool story.” I also would prefer if they just expanded on customization for octolings and inklings and not added a new species. but i guess it’s splatoon 3, gotta have 3 species too. and ill take it any day over salmonlings also in the aforementioned ask, the only justification i could think of for a sudden introduction of cuttlefish would be that they happen to live super far away outside of inkadia/splatlands. combine that with the knowledge that the DLC is more than likely going to be a world tour of some kind...well, that’s probably gonna be the reason for their introduction: they just live far away. tl;dr im feeling 100% sure cuttlefish are coming to splatoon whether we like it or not

Which other characters do you feel have been most misrepresented or poorly localised apart from Rock/Romeo?

most of the characters would be localized differently if DS/cute had been localized by xseed hmmm

(a lot of bachelorette heart events exclusive to the boy version are probably worse, given that the boy version can get downright incomprehensible more often than the girl version, but i’m not going through the hell of restarting the english version of DS for yet another time given that it’s Save File Corruption Speedrunner)

i need to preface this by saying i’m only trying to call this an Interesting and Unfortunate Change but….

one big example that comes to mind is Ain / Kai and his “too touchy-feely?” first heart event….. is not about that in japanese and since it’s not quite equivalent it gets a real sense of unintentional Bad in english

in the japanese version of the event, Ain brings up the fact that he just calls you your name, without the honorific -san. omitting that definitely makes him come off as overfamiliar (whole ass trope about new couples getting flustered over being called their first name with no honorific for the first time), but Ain is Not From Here and overall speaks in the casual, friendly way he’s used to.

he asks you if you’re uncomfortable with him using your name like that

obviously the correct choice is to say you don’t mind at all and everything is fine. BUT if you tell him it’s too much…. he apologizes and tries saying your name with -san… but he realizes he just can’t do it, because “after all, aya is just aya (or whatever your name is). which is kinda weird, but it would require all his normal dialogue lines to be rewritten, so i guess we need to return to the status quo…whatever…

obviously this presents a conundrum in the english version, since honorific speech isn’t used in english the same way it is in japanese. so the event has to be about something slightly different…

the solution natume came up with was to have it be about him patting you on the back

you can probably already see the problem with this but let’s look at it anyway

i mean that’s kinda… odd, but hey, on the bright side, there’s no need for them to return to the status quo so surely he’ll stop if you ask him to..?

Every day I log on and see Warriors fan artists making stories that are infinitely more complex, emotional, and sophisticated than the source material ever has been. It's incredible how such a error-riddled, flat, and continually disappointing series has led to such incredible creative vision.

messy sloppy "Fairies from Little Red" sketches (Little Red is a fanfic I wrote that was so wildly au and distant from any source material that I made it an original story) ramblin oc info below cut

Fairies are small feline bipedal creatures (usually two or two-and-a-half feet tall, tho they can get up to three!) They're similar to the average house cat in appearance but they generally have bigger ears and a "lion's tail". These guys are defo not drawn to scale

up at the top left having a sit is POPPY!! Arguably the main character of Little Red, tho his two older brothers are equally as "main". He's still a lil kid so he scrapes one and a half feet tall- a baby. His fur is all white, and he's missing his left eye and ear from what appears to be a burn scar

middle t-poser is Max (short for Maximum Power- name he picked himself) who is a BIG BEEFY BOY at juuust shy of 3 feet tall. He is very active and works out a lot. He's about as grown up as a 20 year old human would be, but he's still a silly goober that likes to climb trees (usually fails) and annoy his sister. He's got an orange tabby-ish pattern!

rightmost t-poser is Max's adopted sister Jade. I drew her with eyelashes bc I think she'd want me to draw her with eyelashes like that. She's a bit younger than Max and not quite an "adult" but she's pretty average sized- lil over 2 feet tall. She is not average in having long fur tho- most fairies don't. She doesn't like it bc she can't wear tight-fitting clothes or it smushes all her hair down, which is uncomfortable. She's into anime and likes to draw, currently in her emotionally withdrawn teenage phase. She's short-tempered but very kind and caring once she warms up. Her fur is mottled silver with a bit of a tabby pattern- it's very pretty and unique.
