Kdramas i've watched this year
Some of these are older dramas but i'm a procrastinator
Black Knight (2023): Loved this one! I have watched it probably 5 times now. Kim Woobin kicking ass is all i need!
Under the Queen's Umbrella (2022): I didn't watch this when it aired (no idea why). I was worried that the plot would be overrun by romance but thankfully i was wrong. Loved Kim Hye-Soo's performance (i cried a little).
Island seasons 1 & 2 (2022-2023): Honestly i only started this one for Kim Nam-Gil. I loved the cast, but the flow of the plot was a little off (don't know how, i can't put a finger on it). Was positively suprised by Cha Eun-Woo's acting, i think he needs more roles like this! Hot villain alert no.1! Sung Joon as a bad guy is either a blessing or a curse. Cgi could have been better.
Taxi Driver season 2 (2023): Loved the first season so of course i had to watch the second one. Love Lee Je-Hoon. Love the main characters. Love the plot and the message of this drama. A masterpiece. Waiting for season 3.
Weak Hero Class 1 (2022): Only heard of this drama wayyy after it aired (thanks tiktok) and god does it deserve every award there is! I was a bit hesitant because Park Ji-Hoon was the main lead, but boy was i wrong because his talent got me speechless (weren't we all). I cried, i cheered, i shadowboxed, i cried a little more and in the end i called my therapist. Thankfully season 2 is coming.
Bloodhounds (2023): Woo Do-whan and Lee Sang-Yi in the same drama beating people up? Yes please! The plot wasn't mindblowing, but sometimes just simple ass kicking is enough. Bromance was bromancing. Park Sung-Woong with another great villain character.
Revenant (2023): After dropping Mr.Sunshine i wanted to see Kim Tae-ri in other dramas, so when this aired i gave it a go. Her range is phenomenal! I have only seen couple spookier dramas, so i made a mistake and watched this at night (slept with the lights on). The eerie vibes and plot twists were well made. Hong Kyung had great chemistry with Kim Tae-ri and his cop role was refreshing to see after his performance in Weak Hero Class (if you know you know).
Flower of Evil (2020): Okay, this is one of the dramas i procrastinated hard on. It's been sitting on my "have to watch" list since it aired and i'm the only one to blame (i hype up a drama in my mind, then don't want to watch it because now i'm afraid it doesn't go the way i think it does and then i get disappointed blaablaablaa). This year i finally got over myself and why. didn't. i. watch. it. sooner!!!! It is all i ever wanted in a kdrama. 1. serial killers 2. a psychopath (but is he really?) w/ an effed up childhood 3. mindgames 4. marriage problems (but has a lot of soft & cute scenes) 5. Lee Joon-Gi. Also as a plus (hot villain alert no.2) the bad guy is kindaa (i'm sane i swear). I would be lying if i didn't say that i found the wife slightly annoying (might be me, but she went too much back & forth and sometimes i had to take a breather while watching), but all in all this drama will be hard to top and i fell in love with Lee Joon-Gi.
Moving (2023): Honestly one of the best dramas of the year. I don't usually really go for plots that have a lot of romance in them (if you haven't noticed), but i found this one to be really well balanced and the romance scenes weren't "cringy". Although Bong-Seok and Hui-Soo were great and had great chemistry, i looooved the background stories of the parents. Park Hee-Soon also pops up as kind of a non-villain villain. I hope there is a season 2.
Song of the Bandits (2023): Kim Nam-Gil again. 1920s Korea and gunslingers... what more could i need? After Mr. Sunshine left me with a disappointment (this might be an unpopular opinion) i craved for a drama set around the same time period, but with a little less romance (i know, i am defective). I think dramas should explore this time period more, but i understand it might still be a touchy subject. The skills of the cast were obviously great, Kim Nam-Gil killed his role like always, but Lee Ho-Jung as Eon-Nyeon shined with her performance (i am now a new fan). Hot villain alert no.3! I have seen Lee Hyun-Wook in Remarriage & Desires and seeing him as a villain made me feel things. If there isn't a second season i will cry.
The Killing Vote (2023): A "serial killer" in a dog mask making the public vote on punishing criminals and everyone suspects each other? Cyber crime? Chemistry between two cops? Major hot villain (no.4)? Sign me up. I love when crime dramas make you question your people reading skills (i have the tism so i really got none) and have all kinds of theories flying around. I liked that even Kim Mu-Chan and Joo Hyun had obvious chemistry between them it didn't overshadow the main point of the plot. I liked Seo Young-Joo's delivery and i hope he gets more bigger roles. Kim Kwon.... why does the psychopath have to be hot? He also needs more bigger roles. !spoiler! Also Park Sung-Woong killing (heh) yet another morally grey character.
The Worst of Evil (2023): Okay, first of all i have to say... the wife ruined everything (some agree and some don't). We get another bromance duo of the year with Wi Ha-Joon and Ji Chang-Wook. Loved the crime organization infiltration plot, heavily despised the romance plot (sorry Bibi baby). I was constantly on the edge of my seat and the characters started to get so morally grey that in the end everyone needs group therapy. Action scenes were chefs kiss. A honorable mention goes for Lee Shin-Ki as Seo Jong-Ryul (or Chief Seo, knife guy, the man has many names) and Bibi for her performance as Lee Hae-Ryeon.
Evilive (2023): Heavily underrated. Kim Young-Kwang doing what he does best, playing a psychopath. This combined with a bromance plot with the one and only bromance master Shin Ha-Kyun? I'm sold. The dramas literal title "villain story" really sums up the plot. Sometimes you are not sure who to cheer for. Sometimes you are not really sure about your own sanity. But to be fair, so aren't the main characters.
Vigilante (2023): Love it. Currently re-watching it. Needs more attention. Needs more episodes. I'm in love with Nam Joo-Hyuk. The best crime drama of the year, the title is all i needed to hear. Beating up criminals in well made action scenes is my favorite genre. No romance. One sided bromance? Morally grey characters (am i repeating myself now?). Yoon Ji-Tae as a beefy cop and Lee Joon-Hyuk as a slightly insane admirer? If we don't get a season 2 i will start a riot.

Chaeri as the 8th and youngest member of BTS.
CHAERI'S MASTERLIST
A love interests' timeline
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lets take a closer look at each of these points
❐ Cha Eun-Woo
჻ They met by chance on a small forum whose members were trainees and emerging idols of the time.
჻ He left a comment under a meme posted by her
჻ They first started talking to each other in the forum's private chat and then exchanged numbers
჻ Their conversations were almost entirely an endless sending of memes to each other
჻ The first time they had a conversation on the phone Chaeri had to hide in Taehyung, Jimin and Hobi's room, as she was sharing a room with Namjoon and Jungkook ჻ If Namjoon knew she was on the phone with a boy he would have asked her questions immediately afterwards
჻ In any case, she couldn't hide it from him for too long because a few months later Eunwoo asked her out on a date and she was forced to ask permission to hyung line
჻ Generally, when she was a teenager, the hardest approval to get was Namjoon's.
჻ In fact, he told her that she was too young to go out with guys she met online.
჻ Oh, she sulked at him for a whole week.
჻ Of course, as time went by, the messages between the two became less and less.
჻ To this day, they are good friends who fans often see interacting with each other at public events
჻ Chaeri refers to him, in private conversations, jokingly, as "the missed husband"
Tumblr media Tumblr media
❐ Hoshi (Seventeen)
჻ Not much to say about them
჻ Chaeri became very familiar with the members of SEVENTEEN during the ISAC days
჻ Especially, she was impressed by Mingyu, The8 and Vernon who, to this day, are some of her closest friends
჻ Hoshi, noticing how well they got along with the youngest of the BTS, tried to approach them in any way he could
჻ He was always very kind and respectful towards her
჻ After ISAC ended, he waited a full year before getting up the courage to confess
჻ He told her just before the end of the last athletic activity day
჻ Chaeri told him he was very cute but that she wasn't interested
Tumblr media Tumblr media
❐ Dean
჻ Dean noticed Chaeri walking behind Taehyung's back during one of their video calls
჻ It's a ritual for them - he and Tae - to call each other at least once a month to chat and congratulate mutually on their successes.
჻ Seeing the girl, however, made him want to promise his friend that he would visit him as soon as possible.
჻ And so he did
჻ His relaxed nature and ability to feel at ease with everyone did not make him feel the slightest shame in making his intentions clear right away
჻ "You don't even know me and you want to ask me out?" "Ever heard of love at first sight?"
჻ Chaeri told him not to take it the wrong way but he was too old for her, besides the fact that she had no intention of dating him
჻ Taehyung teases him about it as often as he sees him, he also call him 'old' at every good opportunity
Tumblr media Tumblr media
❐ Jungkook
჻ Actually, their first kiss was not just before they became a couple, nor was it during that time
჻ Chaeri asked Jungkook to kiss her when she was 17.
჻ There were several factors that led her to that request (she should have known it was only the first of a very long series of times she would ask him to kiss her)
჻ The first reason was her love for one of the most watched kdramas of the time: Oh my Ghostess
჻ To put it in a nutshell, a ghost returns to earth to have at least one love experience before going to the afterlife for good
჻ The second was that all the girls she met spent time opening up about their relationships/love affairs.
჻ For them, girl-only groups, it was definitely easier to interact with a love interest
჻ She, instead, always so busy and surrounded by seven wonderful and protective boys, had never been able to have any relevant experience.
჻ She felt she was lagging behind the others but having to admit made her feel terribly shy about it
჻ Which says a lot because Chaeri is NEVER shy
჻ One day in the small living room of their dorms Chaeri was sitting on the floor in front of the TV watching the kdrama mentioned earlier. Behind her Jungkook and Taehyung on the sofa
჻ "Even ghosts have a better love life than me!"
჻ "It's not such a big deal you know"
჻ The girl turned around and sent him a glare "You say that because no one has ever denied you a date"
჻ The two boys barely held back their laughter "Would you've kissed that friend of yours on the first date? Because otherwise nothing would've changed from the way it is now"
჻ "Yes" "Yes?" "Yes, totally" "You can't kiss someone you don't actually know"
჻ "Then why don't you kiss me since we've lived together for years"
჻ The first proper kiss, however, was not preceded by any requests
჻ It is very common for the boys to make clips in which they dance to choreographies created by Chaeri, along with her
჻ Many of these are even uploaded to the company's official channels
჻ One in particular was never uploaded, fortunately I might add
჻ The footage was promptly taken away by the two guys who still jealously treasure the camera card
჻ That month it was Jungkook's turn. Chaeri had chosen him to dance with her
჻ It took them very little to learn the choreography. A single minute of dance that would surely guarantee millions of views.
჻ Plus, they always loved dancing together
჻ Many choreographers have them interact during dances because, according to them, the two are very compatible physically
჻ Anyway, Chaeri expressly asked for them to be left alone with the camera, which, no matter what, it could be placed on a tripod without requiring movement
჻ If the choreography could be explained in one word that would be Intense
჻ And it definitely shouldn't have ended with Chaeri between his legs and her lips pressed to his, but that variance was clearly enjoyed more by them both
჻ That something in them had slowly changed over time was evident to all
჻ The eyes in constant search of each other, the casual but not so much touches, the chatting late into the night despite the fact that they would have to work the next morning..
჻ It was all a natural and gradual process that led Chaeri to kiss him that day
჻ And it was even more natural to become a couple, as if they were meant to be from the first moment they met
- the choreo ⬊
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
❐ Jinwoo Yoon
჻ It may sound strange to hear for a star as famous as Chaeri but, between the two of them, she is definitely more of a fan of his than vice versa.
჻ Having a passion for dance, she finds it absolutely inspiring to seek out new talent on platforms such as YouTube
჻ Jinwoo Yoon, even with an already well-established career, was not easy to track down
჻ Back then, Big Hit was looking to hire new people to fill the roles of choreographers and she was desperate for him to apply for the job
჻ So, with all the scandal that such exposure could create if he didn't keep their interactions confidential, she decided to personally text him to congratulate and make him aware of the job position in her company
჻ Jinwoo Yoon certainly didn't ask for it twice
჻ At the casting, she, Hobi and Namjoon were also present (as almost every time their team had to expand and the dance department was involved. Namjoon, instead, was there as leader of course)
჻ Jinwoo Yoon, reserved, talented and extremely humble felt honoured from the first moment he heard that Chaeri had considered him
჻ It was not too difficult to join the crew, unexpectedly
჻ The two immediately seemed to understand each other very well
჻ So well that, unfortunately, not too long after, the choreographer started to have feelings for her
჻ You could see it from the way he looked at her every time he saw her moving according to his directions in the room
჻ He wasn't great at hiding it, all the members were aware of it
჻ To avoid misunderstandings he decided to speak to her clearly at the cafeteria of the building one morning
჻ It often happened that they had breakfast together, always the first ones to arrive in the practice room
჻ Chaeri's eyes were so sorry when she had to tell him that she was not interested but that she hoped it would not affect their professional partnership
჻ Luckily, to this day, Jinwoo Yoon is happily engaged and the professional ties with the boys and Chaeri continue to flow peacefully
Tumblr media Tumblr media
❐ Hongjoong
჻ First met at MAMAs 2019, where ATEEZ appeared for the first time at the awards event
჻ In their performance they also included a tribute to the very famous BTS song, Blood sweat and tears
჻ This was so unexpected for Chaeri, who until then had been distracted greeting fans, that her reaction was broadcast on the big screen
჻ Pleasantly surprised at how much they were honouring the iconic song, she didn't take her eyes off them until the end of their performance
჻ Her first thought about ATEEZ was that they were talented and captivating to watch
჻ Only when they returned to their seats Chaeri realised that they were actually only a little further ahead than where she and her group had been positioned
჻ And everyone knows Chaeri and her 'act before you think' philosophy of life, do you think she missed the opportunity to go and congratulate them in person?
჻ So in theory there should be nothing wrong with that. But the fact that they were live and everyone could see her actions could, surely, lead to speculation about favouritism on their part for the neo-group. Add to that the fact that local newspapers would have taken the opportunity to add the words 'Chaeri' and 'Love at first sight' to the headlines of their articles.
჻ Precisely to alleviate all this, Jimin ran after her in order to make it seem as if the idea of approaching the boys came from both of them
჻ All ATEEZ members bowed gratefully, honoured to receive attention from their seniors at work
჻ Chaeri, more than Jimin, said she was impressed by their performance and would certainly look them up on the net
჻ Hongioong, as the leader/captain of the group, took the floor to thank them
჻ He, himself, believes he fell in love at that very moment. The moment she stood in front of them and, with great humility, congratulated them enthusiastically
჻ That the only BTS girl was a very nice person he already knew. As the fan he was, this detail had not escaped him but, in person, she was even more so.
჻ The conversation seemed to go on far too long for Namjoon's eyes, who was always observant of everything his members were doing
჻ Chaeri was so caught up in it that she was even about to sit next to the group of young men except that Jimin, after receiving a warning glare from his leader, gently told her it was time to return to their seats
჻ They didn't see each other for a long time but, shortly after the mentioned event, Hongioong wrote on his social profile that he was particularly excited about the new single Chaeri had released
჻ In response, the girl thanked him privately but the interactions between them stopped at that, for a long time
჻ The great thing about being an idol is that, most of the time, people were convinced they could follow their every move but actually had no idea how many ways they could cover their tracks and look like they were each in a different place when together, instead
჻ And stunt doubles spotted in passing, pre-recorded videos aired at the time, hints on their social networks, allowed EVERY YEAR all the 98' line idols to have a party in one of the most beautiful, exclusive and private hotels in Seoul.
჻ Chaeri has no memory of a year when she was not there. In fact she was one of the main host of the event
჻ Nor does she have any memory of a year where at least half the members of her group asked her to bring them along
჻ "You are too old to be at this party. I don't sneak into yours... well, most of the time."
჻ "And also, I have a date there"
჻ It wasn't true, she just wanted to make Jungkook pay (irrationally, of course) for making her jealous after something he did (not that she could blame him for it, they were forced not to be together but still her personality kept her from acting otherwise)
჻ What she didn't imagine was finding Jk and V at the party, after a matter of time
჻ To say she was angry would be understating it
჻ "Pretend to be my date" Was what she said to Hongjoong when she approached him, without even waving at him first
჻ "What?" "Pretend to be my date" "Sure, I can... I can do that. But why?" " Does it matter?"
჻ Everything began that way

Someone who gives me the same asshole vibe as Cha Eun Woo and Song Kang is Eunwoo's friend Kim Young Kwang (the actor) I really liked his drama and he is quite handsome but he looks like a sadist and super manipulative to me I'm not gonna lie? No matter how much I try I can't seem to get into him? He was also caught before whilst he was a model (when he was much much younger) talking about what he finds distasteful in women and he said really weird/sexist shit but it was childish af too, like he really didn't think before speaking but I like to give benefit of the doubt to the "youth" LMFAO (not really) but you know he's also Korean so I wasn't shocked, I said oh another one bites the dust 👏🏾☺️😋 Anyway there's something sweet about him (I'm probably reaching and trying to give him a compliment) but he really totally makes the hairs on back stand idk he gives me torturous type vibes? Maybe it's past life between me and him vibes LMFAO but I see evil, I know I'm not tripping, like the dark triad evil? Am I wrong? What energy do you feel from him, please let me know!! Like he looks like if he wasn't told right he'd hold people captivate or be that weird kid that's cruel to bugs? I wouldn't be surprised if he was a bully or humiliated people, especially women. Like you know the energy of a closeted man that hates on women? He looks like the type to say mean things in a joking manner and not even consider people "beneath" him? I feel he can be sweet but it is selective, like he may want something? Idk he feels fucking cold, like his eyes and his smile, no emotion etc I wouldn't be surprised if he has a disorder or something that makes him unemotional etc He's a major homebody too and he always acts uncomfortable in social situations etc, he probably is but maybe he really does has some disorder or something because he expresses that he wants to go home etc. Like I could see him being condescending like Song Kang and Cha Eun Woo too?
CEW always gives me the energy of misguided energy? Like if he were to be surrounded by good people who humbled him he could be okay? I always see some sentiment in him? He looks like people don't check him and out of all 3 he looks to me the most reflective, like if something happened it could give him a spiritual awakening etc and change his life. Like the type of guy that heals if he was loved right. CEW gives me I am a "twin" vibes, like he has a counterpart in this lifetime who's gonna have a profound effect on his life? He always looked like a redeemable soul to me? I don't know but the more he gets deeper into the industry and this cold, cruel, money driven environment he just gonna end up being unredeemable as well, in the deep end? Like he'll end up the worst out of the bunch? I hope he don't start doing drugs but he looks smart to me lol, I'll give him that much. The more I see actors/celebs the more coldness I see lol, some of them have really scary eyes.
It's hilarious to me that people found Song Kang cute, the mf gave me I'm bland and incompetent but have the audacity to be disgusted by you vibes. He generally looks like the type to sanitise his hands if he accidentally brushed past somebody he don't respect, he looks hella coddled too and a mamas boy. He literally admitted himself that he wore the same socks for months straight. He's probably the type that doesn't do the dishes or wash his clothes etc, like he young forever? I was shocked he was feeling Han So Hee LOL but she grown woman vibes and I think it's opposites attract. Her rough girl image, idgaf demeanour probably intrigued him. A part of him also looked like he was pretending, so people could talk about them, like he used her for a come up? He shot a show with that young pretty actress and the interviews (my demon) were a pain to watch. I could tell he found her stupid and you were RIGHT, he cannot hide his dissatisfaction well!! Like it was second hand embarrassment. He was also on another show with BP Jennie and he literally iced her lmfao, he didn't even look at her, he also pushed past another woman and was heavily disgusted by another older woman complimenting him, like how dare you compliment me when you not on my level? Like the type that wants people to ask for permission before they greet him? He called another woman by another name and said "that woman" and she was like "I am that woman, it's my name", as in he didn't even bother learning their names and she said to him don't you think it's too soon to speak casually (banmal/drop honorifics) and refer to me as "that" and that you should learn people's names etc. It baffles me how people give a pass to "handsome/pretty" people in the world and especially Korea? But more so handsome men because of sexism right? Like he was not careful of his behaviour at all but people thought he was "clueless" and cute. It's obvious when he thinks people aren't on his level etc and I think he's at a point where he generally believes he's made it, so he dgaf like yasss I don't need to kiss ass anymore, when he was simply just expected to be polite LOL 😂 I think it's a chore for him to treat people well, like he might think about the beneficial reason why he should give charity and help people? Like they broke, they can get up, I'm not, I work hard. Like simple minded? He's cut the nice act now and he said so himself, that he hates being perceived as cute and a little adorable boy but he masked himself as such and then complains? Probably because he finds his fans disgusting. I'm ngl he feels like that. I don't know lol! Don't mind me, I be popping out here and there and giving the lip and the tea LMFAO 🤣 I'll stop here! 💀
— Lip Service Girl 💄
Me and you must just be on the same wavelength. I think it's too much to say Kim Young Kwang has a disorder, but everything else, I agree.
Cha Eunwoo has the best energy out of the three. But he has his own bs that comes with him. He's not a bad guy, though, the other two .....🤷‍♀️
What sticks in my mind the most is Kim Young Kwangs' weird comments about women as well. Like it's okay to have preferences, but like damn....

Cha Eun Woo
(Cha Eunwoo - ASTRO)
Spread: Kinky
Deck: E. A. Poe
Position - King of Wands
Oh boy! Eunwoo is a dom, alright. He can even become a bit bossy when in a bad mood and won’t tolerate his lover giving glances to other men. He’s likely to be pretty passionate and caring, too, though. He’s straightforward and will ask his lover what they like and what annoys them. He appreciates honesty, even the brutal one.
Libido - Ace of Cups
When in love, Eunwoo falls for his lover with his heart and soul and all. He’s overflowing with love and passion when with the right person and will let them know. He’s the one to nearly drown his lover in his affection. He’s a romantic and will make sure his lover finds fulfilment in his embrace.
Turn On - XVII The Star
Eunwoo is likely to feel attracted to someone with an optimistic and peaceful nature. The person might appear like dwelling above the ordinary chaos and rush, in their own realm of tranquillity and calm. It’s likely for them to be quiet and modest in the crowd, they are rarely going to burst into loud laughter but they will have that nice and soft smile lingering on their lips always.
Kink - Page of Pentacles
Eunwoo might have some kinky fantasies regarding office romance. Either he might hit on his coworkers (which could be potentially legally problematic) or he will take the opportunity to get wild in an office with his lover. If the office isn’t available, he settles down for his lover to dress up smart and professional and pretend to boss him for a bit.
Thank you for reading!

random thoughts about tell me that you love me, episode three
(the rest is under the cut because i'm worried about your eyes having to read ALL OF THAT and this post might contain spoilers)
So cha jin woo wasn't born deaf. His hearing disability was due to a sudden high fever when he was younger. I'm glad the drama told us about that and didn't let us guess for longer.
Seeing mo eun being curious about jin woo is beautiful to see. She's interested in "listening to" his story, a thing that not a lot of people leeting jin woo must do. I'm not entirely sure what motivated her in the beginning but I'm impressed to see her learn so many things for him. Witnessing little snippets of jin woo's life, she realizes how different both their lives are, and how the world is not really deaf people friendly.
I'm liking Yoon Johan in this episode. He's quirky and funny.
I don't know if I've said this enough times but I am enjoying the fact mo eun is trying to involve cha jin woo in as many hobbies as she can. Even when he says no, she tries to do something that he likes instead. It's very heartwarming to see that.
Seeing jin woo refuse to go with mo eun because he doesn't want her to "be with someone she has to be considerate towards" (quoted from the drama) makes me think of the conversation he had earlier (in the episode) with his friend. His friend thinks jin woo is not warmhearted, so then we see jin woo say that the people around him will feel cold. Maybe that's why he doesn't want people to get closer to him? In a sense I think jin woo is protecting himself because he doesn't want to have very deep feelings for someone (whether friendship or love). The closer he gets to someone, the more he risks of developing strong feelings and in return he's scared of becoming a burden. Ever since he was seven, jin woo has had to develop strategies to live his life despite his disability. We've seen so many examples: using his phone to communicate with others, keeping a distance from others on the street so he doesn't bump into them, etc. His eyes have become his ears (his alarm being a shining light, listening to people by reading their lips). I imagine this must have been very hard for him so, to add someone to his daily life seems like another mountain to move. He knows how hard it is to live with a disability (because he's lived with one for majority of his life) so he can imagine how much more difficult it could be to live (as in both in the same house and like being friends/sharing moments) with a disabled person. The most obvious obstacles being communication and the fear of becoming a burden. At first, it could be all good but then, as time passes, the able person could become increasingly annoyed at all the times they have to help the disabled person for any type of task (in the worst case scenario). Let's not forget the disabled people who want to live life with as little help as possible. Living is already hard enough on its own, let's not add being a burden to that. I do hope jin woo will ease off on the pressure and try to open his heart to love.
I'd just like to clarify the last sentence. I do know and agree with the fact that people can be happy without having a romantic partner. It's just that jin woo seems closed off to love because he doesn't want to be a bother. That's what makes me sad about that. I'm not against the idea of him finding love, but if he doesn't want to that's fine too.
Another fave character ji yu. Both her and johan are the funniest characters of the drama.
I knew the jaden thing was a hoax. But I still found ji yu's reaction hilarious lmao
Hearing mo eun reassure her mom that "she's been doing well lately" when in reality it's the opposite tore my heart. She was so excited to finally have a role with a line to recite... and then on shooting day, she learns someone else has the same role so she's not sure if she'll appear on screen. Standing there all day just to say her line, get splashed with alc*h*l and being slapped so many times she started to bruise. Hearing mo eun being on the verge of tears while on the phone with her mom makes me want to give her a big hug.
Mo eun crying behind jin woo's back... she doesn't want to appear weak in front of anyone.
This was one emotional episode.
I'm giving this one a 8.5/10

Island, episode 4 (spoilers)
Ok, I was wrong about priest Gio♡, obviously the new blondie guy is Van's brother. Could he be even more powerful than Van? Maybe he's the one behind Benjulle's poisoning? Ahh so many questions...
Tumblr media
Hello, handsome! I love how they made them yin-yang like. Messy blond hair and a sly smile vs. tidy black hair, rbf and funeral clothes. Very poetic. Cliché. Just perfect. ☯
But then there's that fight against Benjulle and Mi-ho rescuing all of them, including the highschooler. She Kamehamehad all of them so hard she passed out...
Tumblr media
Internal screams and whatnot on volume 1000000!!!!!!! Also kimgoeun's GIFs are so perfect! Girl, I know you won't see this but please make us some more? I am d y i n g. I'd love to see the car ones. Drifting, driving, casual talk in the car. Those were good scenes. Pls? (。・ω・。)ノ♡
...but then I saw this pabo was trying to wake her up, moving his shoulder or whatever. Oh come on! Stop sabotaging the romance!
Also, since the granny keeps implying that Mi-ho is the answer to Van's curse, and even the prophecy states that she is the one who can save the world once she's fully awoken, it would make so much sense if we actually see her purifying Van. Without either of them dying, of course. What makes me think they will give us the happy ending is Benjulle murdering that abuser college guy after Van intervened ????? (。♡‿♡。)
Also, how cute is the priest boy Gio with those little provocations?
Tumblr media
I swear Cha Eun-woo is the only one who can turn such serious scenes into silly ones. He smiles even when he isn't. Priest Giovanni. I have a confession to make. I'm in love.
Tumblr media
And the least expected part was seeing him go wild with his powers. Enjoyable. Very. But that brings up more questions. Like what is he? Is he human? Is he an embodiment of an archangel? Is he half-archangel? Like, what is going on? He sliced the shit out of Benjulle and then went on full beast mode or rather angel mode (。♡‿♡。) against Van.
Tumblr media
So he confirmed Van is a partially lust demon, finally, performed a safety check and it's surprising that Van or the demon part of him is way stronger than Johan and his holy tools. I mean, he can kill.
Tumblr media
Why did you have to provoke him like that sweet boy? Whyyyy? I don't want to see this precious fluff die, but I have such a bad feeling.
Of course we all know where this is going. Van stabs Mi-ho and they show it as if he stabbed her in the chest. But did he?? I bet he did not.
Tumblr media
We all know his love for her is too deep to actually stab Mi-ho. Demon mode or not. But the answer to this one is in the next episode, soooo...
....let's check the fifth episode (◠‿◕)

Grief and shock as K-pop star Moon Bin, member of boy band Astro, dies age 25
Seoul/ Hong KongCNN —Global fans reacted with shock and grief over the death of 25-year-old K-pop star Moon Bin, a member of the popular boy band Astro.
His music label, Fantagio, confirmed Moon Bin’s death Thursday, and said he has “suddenly left us and became a star in the sky.”
“All Astro members, Fantagio colleagues, executives and employees who’ve been together for a long time are deeply mourning the deceased in such great sadness and shock,” the music label said, adding Moon Bin “always loved and thought of the fans more than anyone else.”
The star was found dead in his home in southern Seoul by his manager at around 8:10 p.m. Wednesday night, according to an official at Gangnam Police Station.
Gangnam police told CNN Thursday that authorities believe Moon Bin had taken his own life. “No signs of foul play have been found related to this case,” police added.
Social media filled with condolences as fans expressed their upset at the celebrity’s death, the latest to cast a spotlight on the often intense pressures celebrities face in the competitive and stressful Korean entertainment industry.
The hashtag #moonbin on Twitter was trending globally with over 2.6 million tweets, some posts written in English, Spanish, Indonesian, Tagalog and Thai.
Meanwhile, social media videos showed fans in Chile setting up a memorial for the late star, lining a wall with white and purple balloons, the theme colors of Astro.
A fan who commented on the video shared on Twitter said: “Rest in peace Moonbin… You had words of [comfort] for others. I wish you had talked about your pain… Rest sweet angel.”
“You’re a star in the sky now and watching over the people you love. Hearts and thoughts go out to his loved ones and all AROHAs,” MTV Asia tweeted, referring to name Astro’s fans call themselves.
“We lost a bright light, who was really contributing to the lives of his family and his friends and his fans and that bright light is gone,” said CedarBough Saeji, assistant professor of Korean and East Asian Studies at Pusan National University.
Saeji, a self-confessed Moon Bin fan, said amid the discussion on the pressures of Korean society and its celebrity industry, it was also important to remember the accomplishments of the young star.
“Moonbin was phenomenally talented dancer and singer. In recent years, he’d started writing some of the material for Astro as well. And he’d also been acting in a bunch of web dramas that had been quite popular. There’s really no limit to how far he could have gone if he continued his career and continue to mature as a performer,” Saeji said.
Child stars
Many K-pop icons start training as young teens, honing their singing, dancing and acting skills for years before they are even allowed a chance to debut their first song.
K-pop idols are known to be subject to intense pressure from their strict management, which has been linked to a mental health crisis in the industry.
South Korea has the highest rate of youth suicide among the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) nations.
In 2021, the suicide rate in South Korea was 26 out of every 100,000 people, and while the country’s overall suicide rate is falling, deaths of those in their twenties are rising, according to the country’s Health and Welfare Ministry.
Moon Bin debuted with Astro in 2016. The other members of the group are Jinjin, MJ, Cha Eun-woo and Yoon San-ha.
He also performed as part of a subgroup called Moon Bin & Sanha, which toured in Asia in recent months.
Prior to his death the duo had been expected to perform next month in Busan, as part of the port city’s bid to promote the 2030 World Expo, and in Jakarta on May 13.
Moon Bin entered the entertainment industry as a child actor, making his debut in 2009 in the Korean Broadcasting System TV drama “Boys Over Flowers.” The series was widely popular and its dubbed version aired globally, gaining lots of fans from Southeast Asia.
His sister, Moon Sua, is also a K-pop celebrity, performing as part of the girl group Billlie.

Our Blues (2022)
Tumblr media
Ever want to spend a few months living in a small community in Jeju island? Now's your chance...
This show is huge. It's a sprawling slice of life drama with twenty episodes and maybe two dozen main and supporting characters. It's great, but it's a huge investment and probably not for kdrama newbies. It's worth watching, without a doubt.
What Worked
The actors are all good and they all brought their A-game. The writing does an excellent job of giving the whole story of these characters. Even when the focus shifts to another character, the show still gives us updates on everyone and keeps their story going, which gives the audience this a feeling like you're watching the lives of a real community.
Also, the setting was amazing, and the camera work did an excellent job of highlighting that.
What Didn't Work
There were very few missteps in the writing or the acting. My biggest complaint was not getting as much time seeing my favorite characters as I liked. It's hard to fault a show that is over twenty hours, and still leaves you wanting more in places.
I will say, that sometimes it felt like the show wrapped things up a little too neatly in a couple of arcs, but it does such a good job of putting the messiness of these relationships out there, that I was okay with that. I even welcomed it as I just needed a chance to breathe.
The Performances
There's too much to cover in a decent amount of time. I'll sum up things as best I can.
Shin Min-a as Min Seon-ah. Her character's arc was one of the highlights for me, as it gave enough context and backstory to help me understand several of the other relationships, while providing a touching and realistic portrayal of someone going through a very difficult time. It's messy, and there are no easy answers, but it's very good viewing. I also liked the times when we got to go back and check up on her later on in the show, even briefly.
Lee Byung-hun as Lee Dong-seok. I really disliked this guy at the start of the show, though he was amusing at times. But the more I learned about his story, the more I felt for him and by the end I enjoyed him. Some of that is in the writing, but the performance is what shown through. You could tell that this was a guy that has been through some stuff, and he's still trying his best to care for others in his own gruff way. Special shoutout to Ryu Hae-jun as young Lee Dong-seok. The flashbacks worked so well because of his performance.
Lee Jung-eun as Jeong Eun-hee. The actress does a good job of making this character fun and lovable while still being prickly and difficult. Her arc at the start of the show was awkward, but the portrayal felt real. Her later arc with Go Mi-ran was another highlight of the show for me.
Cha Seung-won as Choi Han-soo. He gave a great performance as the banker returning home under tough circumstances. The arc he was in was one of my least favorite, but that was because he and Lee Jung-eun did such a good job portraying a difficult relationship.
Uhm Jung-hwa as Go Mi-ran. I really liked the arc she was in. The writers did a good job of giving us all these layers to a complicated character that seems kind of shallow at first glance, but Uhm Jung-hwa was able to put all of that writing together to make Mi-ran come to life. I really liked the way her relationship with Eun-hee played out.
Han Ji-min as Lee Young-ok. I loved this character as well. I got a little frustrated with how mysterious the writers were playing things, but when we finally get her arc with her sister, it all makes sense and we get a few of the most touching scenes in the show. All of her scenes on the ocean with the haenyeos were shot beautifully and were amazing to watch, and that helped as well.
Kim Woo-bin as Park Jeong-joon. Every show needs someone who is a standup guy that you can depend on and Kim Woo-bin played that character beautifully. It's easy for a character like that to get lost in the background or to turn boring, but that never happens here, and that's great.
Kim Hye-ja as Kang Ok-dong. Her character's arc with Lee Dong-seok was well done, but also very hard to watch at times. Everything works and the story the show told us felt real and important, but I also welcomed the breaks they gave us at times.
Go Doo-shim as Hyeon Chun-hee. This was one of my favorite characters. She was a rock through most of it even though the show (and life) put her through some stuff. I had trouble with the arc with her son and grandson. It was still interesting, just rough to watch.
Roh Yoon-seo as Bang Young-joo and Bae Hyun-sung as Jung Hyun. I liked their story arc, it was sweet at times, and appropriately dramatic at others. Roh Yoon-seo was especially good and I loved watching what she did with the character. My only quibble was with the way Jung Hyun acted at times during the start of their arc (when he found out Young-joo was pregnant), but I came around as the character remained supportive throughout and it ended up being a good story arc overall.
Park Ji-hwan as Jung In-kwon and Choi Young-joon as Bang Ho-sik. I really liked the story the show told about these two. I had a big problem with Park Ji-hwan's character at the start (it didn't helped that I remembered what a terrible person he was in Black Dog), but as you learned more about them, you ended up feeling a grudging respect and by the end of the series they were both in a good place. I was never like "I can't wait to see more of them," but I still enjoyed them when they were on screen.
Everyone else. The cast is huge, and even the minor characters were given alot of care by the writers, which helped the actors bring their best to the role. I especially liked the performance of Jung Eun-hye as Lee Young-hui (Lee Young-ok's sister who has Down syndrome). You rarely see characters like that in any media, but the writers made sure and cover all of the complications around the relationship between the two sisters in a way that was thoughtful and rarely felt too preachy.
TL; DR:
This is a show that takes an investment to get through, but it pays off well. I learned after the first few episodes to just trust the show runners, and they made sure to tell a good story that was thoughtful, touching, and rewarding.

Cha Ye-ryun and Lee Hwi-hyang joined hands...
Tumblr media
Cha Ye-ryun and Lee Hwi-hyang held hands.
In the KBS 2TV daily drama 'Golden Mask', which was broadcast on the 10th, Yoo Su-yeon (Cha Ye-ryun) was drawn under Ko Mi-sook (Lee Hwi-hyang).
Cha Hwa-yeong (Na Young-hee) threatens her visiting Yoo Su-yeon with pictures of her affair, and instructs Hong Jin-woo (Lee Jung-moon) to marry her Seo Yura (Yeon Min-ji). To Jin-woo Hong, who refused, saying, “We just recently divorced, you are single now no matter how old you are. It doesn’t matter. Did you not know that love is everything? To Cha Hwa-young, "judgment by this," Hong Jin-woo said, "I understand what you mean, but I have no intention of getting married yet."
But Cha Hwa-young threatened her with the fact that Hong Jin-ah (Gong Dai-im) could become her successor. When Cha Hwa-young said, "Don't assume that you are her only successor," Hong Jin-woo said nothing.
Meanwhile, Yoo Su-yeon gets a job at a restaurant on the recommendation of Noh Young-ji (Lee Joo-eun). The restaurant where Su-yeon Yoo worked is a restaurant that Mi-sook Ko is acquainted with, and the news of Su-yeong Yoo's employment was delivered to Mi-sook Ko. Ko Mi-sook went to the restaurant where Yoo Soo-yeon worked with Cha Hwa-young to make her tea Hwa-young in trouble.
Cha Hwa-young feels annoyed at Ko Mi-sook, who told Yoo Su-yeon, "She resembles the former daughter-in-law of the SA group. But no matter how divorced, I can't let her work in a place like this." She then ridiculed Ko Mi-sook's poor dining etiquette, her nephew, and she made Ko Mi-sook into trouble.
Yoo Su-yeon, the daughter-in-law of her former chaebol family, helped Ko Mi-sook, who was embarrassed. With the help of her Yoo Soo-yeon, Ko Mi-sook, who continued her dining etiquette, went to visit Yoo Su-yeon. To Mi-sook Ko's words, "Be my person. Please be a manners consultant. You can stick by my side and teach me manners," Yoo Su-yeon replied, "Would I dare to teach the president? I will only accept the suggestion with gratitude."

Drama Review: My ID is Gangnam Beauty
Show: My ID is Gangnam Beauty
Starring: Im Soo Hyang, Cha Eun Woo, Kwak Dong Yeon, Jo Woo Ri
Genre: Romantic Comedy
Episodes: 16
Synopsis: Kang Mi Rae, an insecure middle-schooler, decides to get plastic surgery after being constantly bullied for her looks. When she joins university, she struggles to adjust to her new-found beauty and this is only made more difficult with Do Kyung Seok, her old middle school classmate. Mi Rae’s insecurities dominate the way she looks at others and the way she thinks of herself and this drama is her beautiful journey to finding inner beauty.

Click “Read More” to see my review! ***Potential Spoilers!***
Review: This drama was so heart warming and touching!! I absolutely fell in love with the characters and the journey Kang Mi Rae goes on. This drama is honestly a huge life lesson and I’m so happy I finished it. Though it wasn’t a perfect drama, it made me really happy and I think I would watch it again. Let’s start with the negatives...
Like almost all kdramas, I think this drama also has issues with its pacing, mostly with the reveals/dramatic aspects or plot points. Hyun Soo Ah’s (the second female lead) background was revealed in the last 2 episodes and I thought it put a lot of pressure on the audience to connect the dots. It also made it difficult for me to sympathetic for her when I saw her tragic background only an hour before the show was going to end.
Tumblr media
The dramatic climax could also have been paced better and I think putting it in the last hour of the drama was a mistake. A slow reveal of Soo Ah’s background and a build up to Kang Mi Rae’s climactic monologue could have lead to a better ending. I also think this drama’s ending left way too many strings untied. I don’t mean that the open endings were bad, but some endings weren’t even shown. For example, what happened to the relationship between the Do siblings? And the relationship between Kyung Seok and his mom? And the relationship between Woo Yeong (second male lead) and  Mi Rae’s friend? There were just so many aspects that weren’t shown in the end, which made it difficult to digest that the drama had actually ended. Also what on Earth was the point of showing Hyun Jun’s interest in rapping??? That plot point ended in 1 episode and was such a pointless filler.
Tumblr media
The biggest negative for me is the lack of screen time of the relationship between Kyung Seok and his mother. We get to see it in the beginning/middle of the drama and then she sort of takes the sidelines and that relationship never fully develops. The relationship between them could have been such a beautiful side-plot and I think the producers really missed out on a good opportunity. You don’t even see the mother and son together in the last episode! It’s so frustrating and I really wish I could have seen more of their relationship blossom.
Tumblr media
I think the styling/casting of the female lead was also kind of odd. Don’t get me wrong, I love Im Soo Hyang and I think she’s a fantastic actress. She’s so funny and down-to-earth, but also confident and her skills shone through in this drama. But she looked too old to be a college student. I understand that maybe that was the vibe they were going for since she is supposed to “look” like she got plastic surgery, but I think her hairstyle and the way they did her makeup just made her look artificially old. If they were going for the “mature” look, I think they nailed it with some of the side characters, but Mi Rae looked unnaturally old. I think it’s the hairstyle tbh, cuz she looks so young in other dramas/shows!
Tumblr media
Now on to the positives!!
THE ROMANCE!!!! Ahhhhh the romance gave me sooo many feels. I literally felt my heart drop everytime I saw the 2 main leads interact. I definitely did not have Second Lead Syndrome with this drama because the main leads had so much chemistry and such beautiful interactions. Do Kyung Seok only sees people’s inner beauty and Kang Mi Rae can’t help herself from judging/feeling judged for outer beauty. The growth and love between these characters made the scenes so cute and sweet to watch. I honestly fell in love with both of them and was definitely sad I didn’t have my own Do Kyung Seok. The OST (Something in your eyes) made me swoon every single time and I can feel myself blush whenever I hear it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I don’t think my heart can take any more romance...
The Actors. I tried not to be biased with my review of the actors and I feel like I’m pretty unbiased tbh. I know Eun Woo is a part of ASTRO, but I don’t really stan/listen to their music/follow them so I feel like I can be unbiased. I honestly loved all the actors. I think Soo Hyang was so beautiful and portrayed her role so well. I got annoyed with her character sometimes because of how insecure she was, but this was honestly the most realistic portrayal of insecurities and growth. Eun Woo was fantastic! His cold facade was done so well that I still felt affectionate for him when he was cold. Maybe because he was never really cold to Mi Rae? The transition from a cold, arrogant-type boy to a sweet, loving boy was honestly pretty smooth. I couldn’t even tell that Kyung Seok was acting differently because Eun Woo transitioned in that role so well. It didn’t help that all the actors were gorgeous and so entertaining! Cha Eun Woo’s smile makes my heart stop. I guess if I had to pick one actor that didn’t really make me feel anything it would be Kwak Dong Yeon (Woo Young). Maybe it wasn’t the actor’s fault and it was the producers, writers, or directors, but I just didn’t feel any interest or chemistry in his romance with Soo Hyang. I could snicker at his comedy scenes but I never felt touched with his emotional ones, even the sad ones.
Tumblr media
The Morals. This was probably my favorite part of the drama. I felt so touched by the morals in this drama...Suicide prevention, depression, therapy, love, inner beauty, friendship. I mean this was literally the most heart touching drama I’ve watched, which is why the negatives don’t matter as much to me. Romance aside, I think Kang Mi Rae had beautiful character development and I’m so proud of her and happy that she became a confident and happy person. Her dramatic monologue at the climax just made me feel so motivated and inspired to stop thinking of my looks all the time and stop unnecessarily judging others’ looks.
Overall thoughts: This drama was honestly one of the best. It has its flaws, but I feel like they pale in comparison to the romance, the entertainment, and the learning value of the drama. This is how a good drama should be written and produced. The romance, the chemistry, the acting, the comedy, the lessons were so valuable and so touching. Honestly, this drama reminds me of an early 2000s drama without the cringe-fest. I would 100% watch it again (mainly for the romance scenes...)
Rating: 4.5/5

(See updated list on my blog)
My reviews of all my favorite k dramas I have seen so far (up to 12)
1) Hometown Cha Cha Cha: The gold standard. Chief’s kiss. Best show I have watched in a very long time. It’s an absolute masterpiece and delight. I want to live in that fictional town forever. Go watch it now! Its got Gilmore Girls and Hart of Dixie vibes. 6/5 (Netflix)
2) Her Private Life: Super funny and charming. The romantic leads have insane chemistry. The premise is so good! I LOVE that the lead is a Korean boy band fan girl. Might be the most rewatchable of all the k dramas I’ve seen so far. 5/5 (Netflix)
3) Rookie Historian Goo Hae Ryung: Great strong female lead. Very good messages. The most adorable prince I’ve ever seen. What more do you need? Couldn’t stop watching. I hope Cha Eun Woo gets more parts like this in the future. 5/5 (Netflix)
4) Start-Up: Great acting, compelling storylines. Very cute love story. Intriguing plot twists. High quality cinematography. Intense love triangle. Grandma is MVP of the show. 4/5 (Netflix)
5) Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-Joo: It was refreshing to see a bad-ass yet vulnerable woman like Kim Bok-Joo as a romantic lead. I hope there are more characters like her on tv in the future. The main couple was adorable and very different from most other couples. They had so much fun together which was fun to watch. 4/5 (Viki)
6) Run On: Cute, fun, silly and pretty light. A very easy show to watch. I especially loved the supporting cast. The art student guy was adorable. Can he get a spin off? Strange storyline but it was a fun easy ride. 4/5 (Netflix)
7)Touch Your Heart: Don’t be fooled by the first few episodes, the characters will become very likable and the court cases and romantic storylines will become very intriguing and compelling by episode 3. If you can just stick it out for a while, you will enjoy this cute series. 4/5 (Netflix)
8)Doom at Your Service: I did not think I would like this but I really loved it. I enjoyed the made up theology a lot. The main couple and the smaller side characters were really likable. I didn’t like the second male lead editor guy but he wasn’t in it too much. It was a sometimes real sad yet ultimately heart warming fantasy story. 4/5 (Viki)
9)What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim: This show has elements of what I like from every other K-Drama I’ve seen: great chemistry between the leads, hilarious supporting cast, pretty light and fun. That being said, it did feel a bit formulaic at times. It’s pretty much Two Weeks Notice, which I love. 4/5 (Hulu)
10)Crash Landing On You: This show is so interesting. I love seeing what life is like in North Korea. Oh and the main couple has so much chemistry they became a couple in real life. Very lovable side characters. Unfortunately it becomes a bit too melodramatic for me about half way through. The first half was phenomenal though. 3/5 (Netflix)
11)True Beauty: Makes me sad to say this because I love Cha Eun Woo but I just don’t think this one is for me. It’s a great show if you like angsty teen love triangles. It has a good message which I loved but I really didn’t care about the side characters. I found myself fast forwarding through all the parts that didn’t have the main couple in it. 2/5 (Viki)
12)Goblin: I just can’t get through it. I’m currently on episode 12 and I just can’t anymore. The fact that she’s a child and he’s permanently 35 (or 900?) is too creepy. How did this even get made? I think I could have really enjoyed it if they just made her an appropriate age. The only redeeming quality it has is the adorable Grim Reaper but you can watch him without being totally creeped out in Touch Your Heart. Should I force myself to finish this? 1/5 (Viki)
What are your thoughts on these shows? Do you agree or disagree with my rankings? What do you think I should watch next? On my growing list to watch are So I Married My Anti-Fan, Strong Woman Do Bong Soon, Our Beloved Summer, and Oh My Venus. Am I missing anything?
Update: I did finish Goblin. It was pretty painful for me honestly. Thank you commentators for all the recommendations! I added a bunch to the list. Just started So I Married My Anti-Fan. It seems super fun so far! I love that the boss lady from Run On is in it.

•♡•♡•♡•♡•♡•♡•♡•♡•♡•♡•♡•♡•♡•♡•♡•♡•♡•♡•♡•♡
Shoving your phone back to your clutch and muttering some curse words under your breath. "Are you ready, Ms. Y/N?" Your assistant and manager eyed you nervously. Being mean isn't really your personality, however they know it when you're pissed, you're pissed.
"Give me a minute." You spat as you sit in your black dress with beads of silver, backless and a slit that could go on higher, but your manager asked you that you have to stay modest... at least. Your hair is down and just recently went balayage treatment.
You're whole look was based on the character that you played recently. A protagonist-antagonist filthy rich bitch, that character sticks to you, because it was a roller coaster playing the part. It was so great it landed you in this event.
You've been looking forward going to this award show not just because you've been nominated 6 times and this event is only for well-known celebrities, it was an honor to be invited. But you're secret boyfriend who happens to be invited as well because of his soap 'Hwarang' just decline your proposal to come as a couple or even friends. He made great points on how it would be a bad idea for the both of you and your careers to publicize your relationship.
"You have an upcoming leads, I can't risk that, baby. Besides, we have an album to release and a few appearances on some soap." Remembering his good reasons made you even angrier, not quite sure if on him or yourself. "I know you understand me, I'll see you later."
Huffing over the memory made both Sunhee and Mr. Song flinch. "You know what, I'll go ahead and you guys should... stay or talk it out. I'll assure everyone." The noise and flashes from outside became harsher.
The moment the car door shut Sunhee turn to you, "It's Taehyung-oppa, isn't it."
"Ugh!" You groan and crossed your arms, "I know his right, but I don't want to look pathetic without a date in this event. I should've just accepted Cha Eun-Woo's invite."
She sigh and pat your exposed shoulder, "Unni, don't ruin your night over this- Wait, really Cha Eun-Woo asked you?" Raising one of your brows then nodding unimpressed, she continued with her comfort. "Taehyung-oppa just going to make great points and apologize for upsetting you, that's the downside of being in a relationship with a perfect man."
That wasn't comforting at all, but she was right you can't ruin this event for him (and your immaturity). For tonight, you'll forget about him and just enjoy yourself, with a little luck you'll take home all 6 awards.
Breathing in and out, exercising your mouth because this will be a lot of smiling and finally clearing your mind out of Taehyung. You nodded at Sunhee giving her the signal to open the door, smiling widely as camera flashes, being in the industry for almost 10 years– they don't bother you anymore, the lights. However the questions being thrown are kind of getting into you.
"Y/N! Y/N! Who are you with tonight?"
"It is true that no one asked you to be their  date?!"
"Y/N, who are you wearing?!"
"Y/N, tell us about your upcoming shows!"
"You don't deserve to be here!"
"I love you Y/N! Marry me!" You smiled as your fans tried to fight your haters and paparazzi’s comments.
Thanking God after you reached the top of the stairs, interviewers, journalist and big celebrities coming for the biggest social event filled the area. Your manager flagging you with his arms waving and mouthing 'here, here'. Embarrassing? Yes, but beside him is one the biggest magazine journalist.
"Good Evening, Ms. Y/N! You look stunning tonight." She cheerfully exclaimed in her big microphone covered in red foam. "How long did it took you to prepare for tonight?"
Pushing the mic in front of you, she has this wide smile on her face, the same with everyone around you. "All my life! I've been waiting for this, it is such an honor to be invited and be nominated." Exclaiming happily.
"Congrats on your nominations, by the way!"
"Thank you! Thank you!"
"I heard that you turn down some men to accompany you here?" Again pushing the red mic, you glance over your manager who's giving thumbs up.
Shaking your head, "That's not true, I can't think of anyone who wants to be here with me." You joked with a dash of lie and hint of pain in your voice.
"Oh, c'mon! You're Y/F/N who doesn't want to be with you. I asked some actors who's they're favorite and everyone's rooting for you!" She was almost shouting as the surrounding is getting louder. "It's your turn, who's your favorite actor?"
Your face heats up as one name flashes in your head, "As of the moment, I really like Kim Taehyung's performance in Hwarang! I hope he gets lead roles in the future!"
She agreed with you and asked a few more questions, it was going great until your manager place his hand on your back to move to another journalist. You were politely saying good-bye, but she was interrupted by her own excitement, "Kim Taehyung, hi!"
His hands are in his pocket as he strides to the woman who called his name. Hair in perfect curls falling down his forehead, perfectly fitted turtle neck hides behind his long black coat. It's almost like he wore that to match your outfit, he saw your dress when you wear trying it yesterday, could it be?
His brown eyes found yours, managing not to roll your eyes at him for being incredibly hot and not allowing you to flex him as your boyfriend. A small smile form as he scans your dress, Taehyung manages to slip a wink before turning back to his interview.
"Y/N." You snap and look at your manager, "He's talking to you."
You smiled and nod, answering short as you try to eavesdrop to Taehyung's conversation. He laughs low and answer every questions a short as he can. Every time you gaze over his way he would lick his lips, he's must doing that on purpose because he knows how much you like it when he licks his lips, you thought.
"I interviewed Cha Eun-Woo earlier, he said that you turned him down, but you did it so politely. Is that true?"
In the midst of the background noise you manage to hear as the journalist that interviewed you earlier ask Taehyung the same question, "Who is your favorite actress?"
You focus your hearing in his answer, antsy to hear your name come out from his lips, "My favorite actress?" Smirk form as he thinks, "I guess Kim..." He muttered a name that you didn't catch, but you know it wasn't yours.
The interviewer in front of you face falls as your whole demeanour changes. Suddenly you bright smile and cheery attitude earlier vanishes into thin air, "Y/N, are you okay?" Your manager touches your shoulder.
"I'm sorry if I ever offended you in anyway, Ms. Y/N." He bowed his head.
"It's fine, I'm sorry. Just a little nervous." You smiled half-heartedly.
---TIME JUMP ---
After announcing the nominees for the best supporting role you manage to keep your posture as Taehyung's face appeared on screen with others. Still praying for him to win because this will open so many opportunities for him.
"And the best supporting role goes to..." Park Shin-hye look up to the crowd for suspense, "Mr. Kim Taehyung of Hwarang."
Proudness painted your face, forgetting that he upsets you tonight as you clap for him. Taehyung bowed his head when they handed him his award. The room went silent waiting for his speech.
"Thank you, so much this! To Wooga and everyone who's part of Hwarang! It was amazing to work with you guys, I hope to work with you again soon!" His eyes darted on you, however you weren't sure. You've stand in his position before and that spotlight is blinding, but you could feel that his gaze is for you. "To my family and special someone, thank you for your supports! I love you!" He bowed once more and exits the stage.
Claps with whispers roared, "Is he seeing someone?" Kim Ji-won who's sitting next to you leaned in to ask, as everyone did to someone next to them, hoping to get answer if the handsome man is already taken?
Smug played over your face, "Not that I know of?" She just nodded and continued clapping. Taehyung kept his gaze at you as he passed by your table. Now that he’s done accepting his award you can finally go to the restroom to powder your nose. "Excuse me. I'll freshen up, could you keep an eye on my stuff?" Pertaining to your 3 awards that you just won, Ji-won nodded delightfully.
You were stopped by Eun-woo on your way to an empty hallway that leads to the restrooms, “Y/N!” His parted hair and angelic face is really hard to miss with tux that fits him perfectly, “I haven’t congratulated you yet.” He places both of his hands on your shoulders before pulling you into a hug that caught you off guard, but returning it gladly.  “Congratulations on 3 awards and 3 more coming.”
“Please!” you giggled as you lightly push him away, “by the way, I’m sorry for turning you down.. twice.”
He rolled his eyes playfully, “Don’t apply alcohol to the burned area.” You laughed and apologized, “You look stunning, as usual. Do you mind taking a quick pic?”
Nodding your head with a smile, he raised his hand to call the attention of the events photographer. He snake his hands around your waist to snug you close, you can smell his cologne which is a mixture of fresh and floral with a note of woody whiff. It’s not Taehyung intoxicating, but he smells nice. You didn’t mind his action because you’ve work with him before as your leading, you became friends with him after that, whatever it is between the two of you is platonic… at least to you.
“Thank you! See you around, Y/N!” You smiled one last time before heading your way.
After doing your business and retouching your lips and foundation you stride on the empty hallway, just you, the muffled noise and your heels clinking. You walk slowly, feeling a little exhausted from smiling, feet numbing on your strappy heels and just plain famish as they only served pretentious sizes of food. So, you weren't really in the mood to talk to Taehyung when you found him going in your direction.
His deadpan expression and side eyes on you as you pass each other made you question the situation. You were the one who’s upset at him for turning you down to come together in this event. Why is he the one ignoring you? “That’s it? You’re not even going to say hi to your boyfriend?” That stops your tracks. “Is it because I’m not Eun-woo?”
Clenching your jaw and turning your heels, “Are you talking to me or your favorite actress?” You can hear how petty you sound right now, but he should know well not to start with you.
Taehyung’s lips formed an ‘o’, “Is that why your trying to make me jealous?” His voice is low as he walks towards you.
“I am not trying anything,” Trying to hold the next words that will come out from your lips was grueling, and you’re too tired to even fight with yourself.  So you just let it slip, “Just like you, not even making an effort in this relationship.” The clench on his jaw loosens as he scoffs, “I’m not asking for much Taehyung.”
“I just don’t want any-“
“Rumors.”  Finishing his sentences made him even more annoyed, but you kept a straight face “With me? But you don’t have any problems having one with your favorite actress?” His face softens as he sees where he fucked up and realizes why you’re acting up ever since you offered to come to this event as a couple. Why is he so scared to link your names together when there’s nothing wrong with it?
“Y/N, wait-“
“Don’t worry, we’re good.” You strut out of the hallway before your tears fall or he could say another word, you don’t want to look pathetic in front of everyone specially Taehyung. Attempting to compose yourself before you walk back inside the event’s place.
You might sound unfair right now, but you’ve been in this relationship far too long. As much as he doesn’t want rumors, there’s already some circulating. Even his fans loved you for him, his management said its okay for him to be in a public relationship. Since your status as a highest paid actress will help him boost his career, Taehyung’s the only one who doesn’t want to address the rumor and you didn’t want to force it on him. You were okay with it at first, but it’s been a year and you’ve had enough of him being rumored with other women. He might just laugh it off when being asked about those girls, but you’re hurting when he does it to your name.
Having a hard time finishing the event with a heavy heart, you started calling Sun-hee to come get you. “Unni, one more nomination then we can go home.” She sound uneasy, your manager must be with her.
“Fine.” You toss your phone on the table making a loud thud.
Ji-won stood from her seat and excuse herself. Smile forms her lips and winks at you, “Thank you, Noona.” Taehyung sat beside you without giving much of an eye contact. “Don’t stare, just watch.”
“You don’t get to boss me right after you made me upset.” You pulled a face. “What are you doing?”
“Being with my girlfriend.” He side glances meeting your gaze, “Is that okay?” He places his hand on the table where he found yours, clasping it for everyone to see.
“Is this how you’re going to apologize?”
His whole demeanor didn’t change, but you felt him squeeze your hand. “I’m sorry, I was being selfish.” He turned to you and pouted. “I didn’t know that you were hurting. I guess being private and hiding are two different things and I was doing the latter. I love you and you know that, right?”
You stare at him longer than anticipated, so he continues. “I’ll be a better boyfriend, promise.” He is a better boyfriend, perfect even. Now, it aches in your heart that he thinks that. He lifted your hands to place a kiss on your knuckles.
You were about to answer when they called your name, the camera pan at you as you smiled awkwardly. Your intertwined hands are part of being shown on the screen. The cheer became louder and even the host were shock on what they just witness, but she didn’t say a word about it.
“And the winner is,” She let out a squeal, “Y/F/N. Congratulations!”
Taehyung were the first to give you a hug before letting you go on stage. You feel ecstatic, but not because of the award. You can feel your face blushing as everyone cheering for you which isn’t also for the award. You look back on the screen and your boyfriend’s proud face showing, clapping for you.
“You’ve probably tired of seeing me up here. So, I’ll make this quick.” You pant, trying to catch your breath while calming yourself down. “Thank you for everyone who supported my movie and to the staff who work their best! I am truly grateful to be accepting this award! To my fans, as always amazing at showing support, I love you guys! And to my special someone, thank you and I love you so much!” You raised your award a little before bowing.
Taehyung gave you a peck on the lips the moment you sat down, “I’m happy for you.” He mutters on your ears, his lingering hot breath made you shiver.
“T-thank you.” Your stuttering voice made him chuckle. “Stop that, Tae. Everyone’s looking.” You were pertaining at his hand that’s rubbing up and down your exposed legs.
“Let them look.” Regretting that you want to be public with him, forgetting that he’s frisky and likes to see you squirm. He always does this in front of your families and friends, now he has a whole new crowd to tease you. “You can’t be seriously wearing this fucking dress and thinking that I’m not going to do anything about it.”
“Stop it.”
Your breath hitch as his hands went higher, “A string? Naughty.” The table wiggles when your knee jerk as Taehyung snaps your band on your skin.
“Sorry.” You mouthed to everyone around the table. “If you want to go, just say that.” You whisper-shouted.
A bright look form on Taehyung’s face. “I want to go.”
All 5 awards and that’s not even going to be the highlight of your evening.

Kdramas that you shouldn't have missed in the first half of 2021
Hello! i am back after a year of not uploading! So sorry guys! i just finished my final year in university so i didn't have time to upload a review on any kdramas. Rest assured, i will be posting again while i am free!! Anyway, before we go back to 2020, there were a lot of Kdramas that kickstarted the year. i have already watched 10 this year but will be sharing you 5 dramas that you should have not missed!
1. Vincenzo
The last drama I've watched of Song Joong Ki was Descendants of the Sun and my heart broke when i found out that he and Song Hye Kyo got a divorce. I'm not into the fantasy dramas like his previous Arthdal Chronicles but when news came out that he was going to star in Vincenzo along with Taecyeon, it became my most awaited Kdrama for 2021. The storyline was pretty slow and revolved around Song Joong Ki protecting the Geugma Plaza and the people from the Babel group. It also had lawyers from Wusang Law Firm who did dirty work with the Babel group. Humor is a bit weird, but the storyline was really good! You just have to be patient as there were plot twists in every episode (coughs ep 4).
Tumblr media
Also, can we talk about Vincenzo and Hong Cha Young’s chemistry!!! Even though it wasn’t a romantic kdrama, the way they looked and took care of each other was 💯.
Tumblr media
2. She Would Never Know
I ike Rowoon but I didn't like him in Extraordinary You. But man, I looked forward to watching this kdrama every single week! It was an office romance type of setup, revolving around the company Klar Cosmetics, wherein  Chae Heun-Sung (Rowoon) fell in love for his senior, Yoon Song-Ah. At first, Song-Ah didn't want to date him because she was apparently dating someone else (aka Lee Jae-Shin), until she found out that he was cheating on her. In fact, he was already engaged to Lee Hyo Joo, the younger sister of Lee Jae-Woon,  the chairman of Klar. Song-Ah somewhat used Heung-Sung to protect herself from that guy (will avoid spoilers lol) but she eventually fell in love with him.

3. Penthouse Season 2
This drama was hifalutin but it did not disappoint. It was like Sky Castle but 10x more intense. Can't wait for season 3!
Also, Heung sung was such a baby! HAHAH but I really loved his acting here.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
4. True Beauty
Although premiered last December, it was such a lighthearted drama that you should watch it when you are having a bad time. Cha Eun Woo's acting got so much better than his past 2 dramas and Moon Ga-Young really impressed me! From that spoiled actress from Tempted to a kind-hearted girl in True Beauty. Moon Ga Young's character was someone deemed "ugly" by her peers. When she moved schools, she used makeup to cover her face and gain her confidence. This drama was actually an eyeopener for me because makeup definitely helps people gain their confidence. (please teach me how HAHAH)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I feel bad for this Seo-joon in this drama!! Although I am a Cha Eun woo fan, Hwang-In Youp’s character deserved more huhu.
5. Youth of May
Set in the 1980′s, it talks about a love story between Kim Myeong-Hee, a nurse, and Hwang Hee-Tae. Myeong-Hee was supposed to study in Germany but had no funds to do so and her best friend, Lee Soo Ryeon, had to go on a blind date for family ties. Lee Soo Ryeon made Myeong-Hee go on that blind date and hence the relationship. THIS DRAMA IS HEARTBREAKING! It has a sad ending because of the political situation in Korea back then. If you are not ready for that kind of sad-romance drama, I suggest you skip it out for now. BUUTT LEE DO HYUN IS SO CUTE! After watching his 18 Again drama, I just could not resist.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I’ll be doing more reviews soon. I just hope I have the inspiration to write. I just finished “I Married an Anti-Fan” so I might write about that as well.

Korean Teacher - Cha Eun-Woo
Summary: Learning Korean with your Korean boyfriend, you might think it'll make it easier, but the reality is something else.
Pairing: Cha Eun Woo x Foreigner reader
Warnings: None
Type: Fluuuff
Words count: 1,1K
..................................................................................
Tumblr media
You had some notions in Korean, since you're dating Eunwoo, it is common for him to teach you some few words if you asked. But you still spoke only English with him, it was a miracle that he was fluent in this language. So you could understand each other easily, but you felt kinda sad to not being able to understand his friends and family, and you couldn't imagine how annoying it could be for your boyfriend to translate everything you're saying to his Hyung, MJ.
You were back in Korea for a few weeks to visit Eunwoo and you had the idea of starting to learn the language with him. What better way to learn Korean than with your Korean boyfriend. It sounded like a good idea but as soon as you open your books, you don't understand a thing.
"Babe... Help !" You shouted across the room. You heard a giggle before he appears behind you, he puts his chin on your head and look at the book describing the whole alphabet. "How on hearth am I supposed to pronounce that ?" You complain as you point to one of the letter (ㄱ). "It's between a G and a K" He explains, but it just makes you even more confused.
"Repeat after me sweetheart" He says before pronouncing the letter slowly, you frown slightly, trying to figure out how to use your mouth to say it. A laugh escape his lips when you try to reproduce the sound he made, you then punch on his arm, making him laugh even more. "Stop making fun of me !" You pouted as you cross your arms on your chest, looking straight to the sheets. "I'm sorry, but I can't help it." He manages to murmur after he finally stopped laughing. "Don't worry babe, it's not that hard I promise." He gently said before placing a soft kiss on your left cheek.
•••
You give your sheet to Eunwoo, hoping that your answers will be correct. He made a little exercise for you. You had to write the letter of each symbol of the Hangul alphabet. You looked at his facial expression while he was reading your work to see if they were any false response.
After a few minutes of torture, he finally sends you a big smile, and you immediately understood. You quickly get up from your chair and jump everywhere in his dorm. Eunwoo was melting at your reaction, he was also so proud of you for making such progress in this small period of time.
You let yourself fall on his lap before putting your legs on each side of his legs, your arms making their way around his neck. His made directly their way around your waist, squeezing you a little closer to his chest. "I'm so proud of you Y/N !" He said in a sweet voice. "Well, thanks to you !" You whisper before putting a soft kiss on his lips. He immediately responded to your gesture, kissing your lips with all his love.
Your heart hurt slightly when he pulls away. As you open your eyes again, you meet his mesmerizing gaze. "Now that you know the alphabet, you should start writing words !" He proposes, and you let out a big sigh, making him giggle as your head fall on his shoulder. "Can we at least take a little break ?" You asked in your cutest voice, knowing he couldn't resist it.
It was his turn to sigh. "Okay, but only for five minutes." He said before lifting you up. Your legs warped tightly around him, he carries you to the couch, so you can cuddle for 5 minutes...
•••
You were laying on him, your head hiding in the crook of his neck. You felt so peaceful as your eyes were shut, but you suddenly jumped when he puts his large hand on your butt in a slight slap. You raise your head and push a sigh while a giggle comes out of Eunwoo's mouth. "Come on, let's get back to work !" You let a death rattle come out of your mouth, indicating him that you had no motivation to continue your studies.
Your boyfriend chuckled. "나는 당신을 너무 사랑해" He said in a murmur. Obviously, you didn't understand a word, and you quickly got up. "May I have the translation ?" You asked in a curious voice. He got up after you. "You'll only know if you learn Korean." He teases you before making his way into the desk table, where your course was still resting.
You growl as you follow him. You sit back on your chair and Eunwoo take a seat next to you. "Let's do an exercise, I'll say some words, and you will try to write them in Hangul." You nod your head as you grab your pen and sheet of paper, and he starts with the first words.
Surprisingly, you were doing pretty good, they were some mistakes of course, but not as much as you expected. You were covered in compliments from your man, who was more than proud. He was walking around the room as he was looking for some words to tell you when an idea crosses his mind. He stood behind me and leans to whisper in your ear "사랑해"
Your heart skips a beat, it was one of the few words in Korean that you already knew. A little smile appear on your lips as you write the symbols exactly like you remembered on your sheet, then you turn your head to the side to meet his gaze. "I love you too." You said in a sweet voice. It's his turn to smile like a child which warms your heart. And before you could say a thing, he cups your face between his hands and crushes his lips on yours into a passionate but soft kiss. Your lips move together into a slow dance as you smile against it. Your hand travel his chest before they reach his neck, your fingers tingled into his hair as you make the kiss a little more heated. You feel his tongue asking for entrance. You slightly open your mouth only to meet his tongue half way.
After long seconds of making out, he finally pulls out. You two are out of breath as he locks his forehead with yours. "I think you deserved another break." He said in a whisper before he lifts you up from your chair, picking you up to the couch again.

Alright, I am on easter holiday break so it's finally time to kick my kdrama slump to the curb and binge some new shows.
Our Blues feels very slice-of-life and in a way hopeful in it's approach despite all the characters sort of feeling stranded in a way in their own life. It threads those more somber moments quite well with those very humane, sweet moments that manage to just make you smile.
Filmed beautifully in Jeju where we get some gorgeous scenery to look at and let's be honest, this cast is just 👌 for the most part. My only gripe is with Lee Byung Hun, who I don't like, but I do recognize as a good actor regardless. He is going to be Shin Min Ah love interest, so I shall have to tolerate him quite a bit.
I know the fact that Shin Min Ah is again playing a city girl who escapes Seoul for the countryside who meets a rugged man from a small town that lives in a bus (back in the early days of Hometown Cha Cha Cha I thought Du Sik lived in a boat) should amuse me (and it does in a way) but don't really enjoy Lee Byun Hun's character as of now. But that could come down to me not liking LBH in general. He just lacks the warmth that I would want from this sort of character.
And I cannot say it often enough how nice it is to see Woo Bin back again on my tv screen. I can't believe him and shin min ah are in a drama together, with separate love interests... or I assume so. I wonder if they will have any scenes together. I hope so.
Cha Seung Won's character and Lee Jung Eun's character seem to be the main focus of the first two episodes and I have to say that even if I don't often enjoy first love reunions and he is still married (or seperated) so idk how this is going to work out, but I have to say that I find their dynamic so interesting and sort of unusual for a kdrama, which I like. They both seem quite lonely people, in very different ways.
There is something very fresh about that particular love story for kdramas I feel, which does intrigue me. And the way the story present these characters and how they are acted really makes me care for them from the very moment I meet them almost. The other love stories feels less fresh, and more standard in some ways. But that's not a bad thing and I know the scriptwriter is going to add something more into those stories to flesh them out and do something more with them.
It's a good cast of characters and there is just something about a good slice-of-life story set in a tightknit countryside community where everyone sort of knows everyone and everyone has a history together that feels comforting and warm in a way. Maybe it's because I grew up in a small countryside community.
I can't definitely see this becoming a comfort and a cozy watch, which is maybe what I need in order to get rid of this slump that I have been in where I just don't want to watch kdramas or just much of anything. It's not too big, it's not going to be too complex or dramatic but rather just quite mundane and easy and very character driven narrative.
Will it reach Hometown Cha Cha Cha level I don't know yet. But it does have a comfy, somber and yet hopeful vibe which I did also get from that show. And if not, at least I have some wonderful countryside scenery to enjoy. This doesn’t seem like it’s going to be any hazzle to watch in any way.
