I'm starting to think that you were right, and now I'm afraid of letting go of your hand...." Maul giving up on his Mandalore plan and deciding to just stalk Kenobi to tell him about his vision. Staying illegally in Obi-Wan's room because I love putting these guys in situations (and because Maul would NOT leave him alone until Obi-Wan actually accepted Maul is right, which he won't). Following Obi-Wan to Utapau and helping him escape after the clones attack, feeling equal parts vindicated and enraged (because he was proved right but Sidious still won). Them being on the run together....

sometimes... the original state of an old clock and the OTT way somebody's repainted it can both be ugly, actually...

#like ultimately de gustibus &c but the cherry blossoms really tip it over into Full Tacky for me #however the original was also absolutely ugly and cheap and not worth preserving #anyway it's fine if we disagree!#this is why we all have our own spaces #but like. the aesthetic discourse on this site so often is like 'the only two options are Full Victorian or Full Ikea'#and like. actually a middle ground IS possible and probably desirable in a lot of instances????#anyway i grew up with a hoarder and i have ADHD so for a bunch of reasons i really value a certain amt of visual serenity in my living space #is where i'm coming from #and like. there's the sterile minimalism of hotels and then there's minimalism that actually really honors the beauty of household objects #and wants to create enough calm space around them to showcase them #and i just. really would love if the aesthetic discourse around here were less 'anyone who isn't Full Maximalist is an Oppressor‚ actually!'#possibly too much to expect from tumblr tho.#but like. i love beautiful objects. i like when my living space gives me enough psychological room to breathe #that i can appreciate those objects for themselves and they don't just become undifferentiated Clutter.#if your brain works differently that's fine! but it's an issue of competing access needs‚ not of like. one stance is Right and one is Wrong.#anyway. no one will see this post bc time zones and schedules but. tiny lil nose wrinkled.

Thanks to my twitching compulsion to pay very little, we're forever booking questionable places that post photos of local attractions rather than the hotel itself. Maybe there'll be a snippet of the breakfast table, a stolen close-up of a towel folded like a swan and then pic after pic of a nice church or a neighbouring restaurant or a local park.

We book it anyway, because £20 a night is £20 a night, and show up to discover we're staying in someone's front bedroom, or in a holiday annexe inexplicably full of ironing boards, or out the back of a pub, or in a run-down once-beautiful complex with six cats on site.

Or, in this case, we find we're actually staying in the Lluc Monastery.
