so ik we headcanon zephyr as disabled and i had a moment today where my legs straight up stopped working because i do am disabled-

which ghouls can pick them up to help if they fall, and how do they (other ghouls) react to it?

I think every ghoul when they meet Zeph has the knee jerk reaction to baby them, overly asking if they’re ok and if they can do anything for them and I think it annoys Zeph, though they understand the other ghouls hearts are in the right place.

When they do fall it’s common for a freak out to happen when someone hasn’t witnessed it before. In zephyrs perfect world no one would react and they’d be able to go on their merry way, most of the time this happens but some of the ghouls can have a habit of doting.

Ifrit is the main ghoul who helps them, easily sets them on their feet and checks over them. Zephyr only allows him to overly check them because they know he cares (and they’re in love with him)

Aether often helps, checks them over more than he should and offers to quell any aches with his magic. Omega tends to do this too much to zephs dismay

Alpha simply gets them on their feet and gives them a thumbs up, no words needed. That’s zephyrs favorite besides ifrit.

I think all the ghouls can help in some capacity, but usually it’s left to the bigger ones, almost entirely ifrit since they’re together the most

Delete if uncomfy and not a request. Ratchet takes care of your hands for you (I pick at the skin on my hands so it’s kind of personalized). He’ll pull you aside and ask why you’re doing something that’s obviously hurting you and you respond with a sad shrug, the moment after that Ratchet will drag you to the medbay to care for you, putting antibiotic cream and bandaids on your fingers… He’ll ask why and try to understand while hugging you like a sparkling and rocking you while you let your emotions spill…

This is really sweet, I have the tendency to do this too and he would definitely try to help you through it, even if he doesn’t necessarily understand why. He’d be stern, but it wouldn’t feel like a lecture.

Every day he would check up on you, physically and mentally. He’ll ask how you’ve been feeling and check if your skin is healing, gently holding your hands as he does so as to not cause you more pain.

Ratchet doesn’t consider himself a therapist in anyway, but he’ll always be willing to lend an audio receptor for you, whether in private or perched comfortably on his shoulder.

When your skin is healed, it becomes habitual for Ratchet to kiss the tips of your fingers, a gentle reminder that he is proud of you.

Irris has hundreds of virtual pets he takes care of, and treats them like we do our own

Jordan knows he’s got no right to be jealous now, but still, it hurts to see photos of Jack on his timeline where he looks so happy.

He’s got no right to be jealous because he’s the one that ended it. The one who couldn’t take it anymore. The distance, the time difference, the overly touchy teammates. It’d all been too much for Jordan to watch happening through a screen without him.

Jordan doesn’t think it ever would’ve come this this if he had stayed in England.

He and Jack have only ever lived an hour away from each other when they’ve been together, and Jordan thinks they would’ve seen each other often enough to know that there’s nothing to even be jealous of.

In his right mind, Jordan had known this too.

He’d ended things the next day. Over the phone again, because Jordan knew that if he did it face to face he wouldn’t be able to get the words to fall from his mouth.

Jack was silent. Stunned. He asked if it’s really want Jordan wants. If it’s what’s best for him right now. Jordan said yes and now wishes he’d said literally anything else instead.

He broke Jack’s heart.

He knows because the younger still texted him for days after. Little things like how was your day, i saw your goal, and i hope ur ok, but Jordan couldn’t bring himself to respond. To fall back in.

Saudi’s not as amazing as he thought it would be.

The games feel too easy and his skin constantly suffers under the scorching sun. He feels ill half of the time because he can’t sleep, and the other half he spends trying to convince himself he made the right choice.

The main audience for fan fiction is the author first and foremost. Write what you want to write because at the end of the day, someone will always have problems with it. It could be the purest thing on earth and someone will go "oH bUt I cAnT ReLaTe-" or "tHaTs OuT oF cHaRaCtEr"

It's fiction. With fictional characters. Not everyone will be able to relate. Not everyone wants to relate. Relating to something is perfectly fine and makes the experience even better (depending on some aspects - going extreme here, but it's not healthy to relate to a scene where a character enjoys hurting ppl or animals out of cruelty and for enjoyment ex. bullying someone irl)

But just because you don't relate to it doesn't mean others can't enjoy it. Also why did you have to bring ED into this lmao? There are different types not just ppl who starve themselves, so idk why you're brining this up anon. Idk how that makes your statement true? It's fine to be upset that your fav author doesn't write for a certain thing anymore but that doesn't give you the right to bash them for it.

And don't generalize everyone in that echo chamber of yours (when you called every ED victim fat phobic) - I just know you're in a community that thinks just like that. I feel so dumb, I never picked up on Bea's self loathing and especially taking the habit to "save herself" from being a lesbian... how tragic is that. So beautiful that she found Ava anyway <3<3

it didnt click for me right away either since the way they wrote it was pretty subtle, so its easily missed... until you get to bea’s entire speech in s1 then it becomes really clear 😭 the fact that she thinks her soul needs ‘saving’ and that she’s ‘flawed’ is just absolutely heartbreaking. i feel like she still has a long way to go; there’s still probably a lot of catholic guilt in there + years of emotional repression to deal with, but she’s slowly accepting herself — and her feelings for ava! — and its just been amazing to see 🥺

also, i just find it really ironic how in a show that deals with a lot of religious themes, the only homophobia we’ve seen is bea’s internalized one (and that story about sister melanie)

I have to be honest. When I saw the notification of that anon saying “no one gaf if your sad”, I was furious. Still am a bit, but I’ve cooled off. I’m just sad for them now. They have no empathy at all. They must live a sad and unfulfilling life if they’re just coming into your ask box and being rude. Like imagine telling someone that’s sad and upset that no one cares? Anon are you insane? Do you know how harmful that can be to someone who is maybe not in the best mental state? And you can never know how someone is truly doing. I think your specialty is reality in fiction. That it feels entirely plausible, human, and flawed. Not flawed in your execution but in regards to your characters. Nobody is perfect and I think sometimes fiction misses that, you don’t, and it’s why I get so much out of it.
